Canon era merlin, the palate cleansers of merlin fics. I’m not sure if you’re looking for longer or shorter or what but I’ll put a few here that I don’t think I’ve mentioned much before but enjoyed!

I know why the birds sing your name by ironfamjam. This one’s longer and canon era, they’re out of the castle very quickly but it’s such a treasure. The found family in this one goes crazy, they give you the brilliant and powerful merthur belief in each other so well too. definitely recommend

Three Tasks by syllic is a shorter one, canon era but some fun lore divergence. This one makes me giggle a lot, really love the way arthur gives in to his need to impress like a bird in a mating dance along with the jealousy- if you haven’t read it I definitely say give it a shot!

Lastly I’ll put Requiem of a Forgotten Prince by kairennart and queerofthedagger! I like the unique dilemma Arthur is stuck in in this one, i think the situation itself really has the classic merlin vibe while fleshing out the issue seriously. Really a great canon era work!

I think I have some that fit the bill for you, they’re pretty popular so if you need more niche ones/have read them already I’m sure I can find more 🫡

iirc, so close and I’m halfway to it by ariadne_odair does this quite well. arthur pays very close attention to merlin in this and the magic reveal (or I suppose he sort of pieces it together himself) happens relatively early on and he covers for merlin as much as he can- I recommend it!

Doesn’t fit the premise exactly, but it’s close and so so good- The Dragon Rises by footloose. everyone knows Merlin’s got magic, but no one knows who he really is other than Arthur. VERY co-conspirator vibes, they’ve both got secrets and they keep them together. not wholly canon based but quite similar premise/world and also with incredible art

lastly, I’ll put We can always run by kairennart and queerofthedagger because he definitely does all that and more. I suppose I’d say it’s less trying to keep it a secret and more trying to keep him safe, but to me those fall in very similar courts since within Camelot, safety lies in secrecy, but this also tackles what happens if Camelot is (temporarily) out of the picture!

these are all pretty long too, if you’re looking for something shorter, or modern, more canon, less canon, more on the nose, etc etc. let me know and I’ll scour my bookmarks again heh

from my February and March readings, I’ve collected a few more merlin fic recs for the people…

ive been primarily rereading in March so I’d have to change up the style anyways xoxo here’s both!

For favorite long (80k+) fic I’m absolutely choosing The Scroll and the Sword by Elizabeth. The modern-with-magic and haters-to-maybe-you’re-not-bad-shit-I’m-in-love adventure of it all, I was thoroughly enjoying this one from start to finish. The plot hooks you, the romance gets you kicking and screaming, what else is needed ykwim. It also captures the brilliant merthur idiocy, really a gem!

For favorite mid length (30k-80k) fic I’m going with A Language With No Words by neptunesyellowsands! It’s a really great canon era post finale Arthur survives fic. The gradual acceptance of magic and grappling arthur does is just *chefs kiss*. It also has a sequel which was really great as well- just a really enjoyable series!

For favorite short fic (<30k) I’ll choose And He’s Still Left With His Hands by witchmd13! It was so beautifully written and I love the detail of focusing on hands in various scenarios throughout the story. It’s canon era, very soft and such a pleasant read plspsls check it out

since I’ve been rereading so much, I’m gonna do a shorter list of rapid fire novel reads and then another one of favorite rereads~

At the end of the world by b92morgan was a unique take on omegaverse soulmatism with a lot of lore and plot to back it up. not really canon era, not really modern, somewhere in the middle!

If you like your ouchie fucked up fics, Shackled by Obsessionist may fit the bill. It’s canon era and painful and pay attention to the tags cause it definitely keeps getting worse before it gets better, but still a good read!

rereads-

Following the beast by Footloose is following the fucked up trend in a different way. you just don’t get this kind of fucked up BAMF merthur often, morality is a bit lost here. Modern era with lots going on, and watch the tags cause even though Arthur’s the actual antichrist and earns the title in every respect he still has quite the age gap with merlin

My way home is through you by evaelisaa and Leandra is another great modern-turned-canon era fic. I love the transformation merlin especially goes through as he realizes where he belongs. the first kiss scene gets me screaming every time

The Dragon Rises by Footloose is an all-time favorite. It scratches the canon era itch but technically isn’t. Unique plot, incredible lore, the merthur in it is pure excellence, I’d recommend it to damn near anyone

Though Love Like Light Can Flee by horsecrazy is a wonderful modern era read. like these idiots, absolutely incredible the way they dance around each other Ten Million stars out of five

from my October readings, I’ve collected a few more merlin fic recs for the people…

For favorite long (80k+) fic, I would have to pick another fic by horsecrazy, this time All Things Loved and Lovesick. It’s 90k and GODD these idiots I love them so bad. They’re just trying to take care of farm animals, elbow deep helping animals give birth at 3 AM all the while desperately wanting each other. I screamed a bit when they finally kissed I won’t lie.

For favorite mid length (30k-80k) fic, there were a LOT of contenders (most of my extra recs could’ve fit here) but I would have to pick From Where You Stand by fifty_fifty. The concept there was one I haven’t seen a whole lot (body swapping their way into a magic reveal) which surprises me cause that sounds so merlin-esque??? really loved the chaos brought on by that

For favorite short fic (<30k), I would have to choose Into Perdition by athousandvictories. If there’s one thing I’m a sucker for it’s religious guilt themes, and if there’s a snarky merlin in there too even better. the tension and resolution in this is just Delicious and Merlin is so bold I’m living for it.

Chrysalis by i_canz_kill_dragon, a very well done coming of age/personal acceptance story

Tales of Magic by amithia. The coffee shop subtle magic OOO i eat it up, i love the take on Merlin’s magic being just this little instinct.

Awake by corilannam and phoenixacid- this is definitely a great and unique arthur returns scenario, with all the questions and mystery and love involved

Arthur Pendragon VS the World by Ally_Oop. more modern than the last but yet another unique take on Arthur returning, very well done and makes you wonder what the hell is happening

Swans Lost in the Stream of Time by DracoWillHearAboutThis. reincarnation memory returning goodness

I didn’t reread anything in October which is crazy because it’s the first month since May of this year that I haven’t! instead, I will recommend one of my most reread merlin fics: Rule Number Four of which the account has been orphaned. I love the silliness and tension and multi identity aspect of it, just such a good work all around for whenever you want a goofy, modern, powerful merthur duo.

from my December readings, I’ve collected a few more merlin fic recs for the people…

For favorite long (80k+) fic, I would have to choose Drink my Pain, Swallow Your Pride by Lex18. I’ve read another fic I love by this author and if you’re looking for just the most fan fiction fan fiction that hits the spot, READ. It’s got sexual tension, it’s got vampires, it’s got werewolves, it’s got familial secrets, its canon era, it’s everything you want to indulge in and more. I, for one, love the vampire Arthur agenda and please give me more 🙏🏻

For favorite mid length (30k-80k) fic, I would have to stretch the boundaries a bit and choose the 85k A Summer in Delphi by rotrude. I went on a spree of reading this authors work and their variety is amazing. This was full of self acceptance, beautiful love blossoming, some tears, and a whole mountain of emotion with the characters in a 1950s Greece setting. Definitely recommend!

For favorite short fic (<30k) I would have to pick this short smutty fic called Beware the River by I_ran_out_of_books. if you’re into some magical being (?) smut I definitely recommend, it’s a little wild but the concept is great (and, in my humble opinion, underused). A succubus/siren creature in canon era morphing into what Arthur desires the most, aka merlin, and then merlin seeing this go down? sign me up

You have got to be kidding me by Diamondmask, painful but still so good modern slice of life merthur fic. A LOT of up and down emotions with this guy

Two Hundred A Heat by SauraUnderscore, smutty modern omegaverse tropes for a quick and fun read

A West-Country Romance by rotrude. really had me so soft by the end, them being so desperate for each other gets me misty eyed. a great historical forbidden romance vibe

Midnight Dragon by rotrude also had such a fun premise, modern enemies to allies, opposites attracting, yummy yum yum

I’m 100% serious when I say I’ve read heaps of rotrude’s merlin fics this past month. if you don’t know what to read, go through their works! There’s 168 of them and they’re all unique and wonderful. I was hard pressed to not keep repeating their name over for my recs this month, and I guarantee they’re showing up in January recs again too!

For my favorite reread in December I’d have to go with Arcane Asylum by new_kate. It’s another popular one, but I started rewatching the show prison break recently and it got me in the mood for this kind of gritty modern magic fic. Merlin is extremely BAMF in this and Arthur is his grounding center. beware of the tags but it still is a great read if you haven’t checked it out!

That’ll be all for this month! I’ve been relaxing over winter without my computer so when I have access to that I’ll be making my list of my merthur 2024 fic recs. rest assured I have a lot to say and a lot to love, and I’ll be back in a few weeks with January’s recs too!

do you have any favorite canon era fics? I love a modern merthur but there's something so healing about the canon era ones!!

ooooo yes I do! there’s actually so many I love that it’s hard to verbalize, I go back to canon era perpetually in between modern. It’s like I need both or else I wither away. Now canon era and canon in line with the series fics are a bit different, but I’ll focus more on ones that feel closer to canon series!

For really long ones, To Bear our Teeth and our Hearts by queerofthedagger and so close and I’m halfway to it by ariadne_odair have a very close place in my heart. these are like my go to rereads when I’m itching for canon era that will always hit where I need it to. just excellent works, make me giggle and fulfill the canon merthur needs in me.

Glow Gold by BelleCow was a really excellent post finale (arthur survives) canon era fic- Arthur’s characterization I really really loved. Like he is so AUUUGGH you know what I mean?

Requiem of a Forgotten Prince by kairennart and queerofthedagger also was a really great canon era fic. Has a unique premise but the spell works really well within it, just love love love it truly.

And… when discussing canon era but significant plot/character divergence, I’ll recommend The Ballad of the Moon by Ro_88. This is one of the first Merlin fics that I ever read, and it’s intense but the plot and the resolution was really crazy and enjoyable! the new lore they made while still having the canon era feel is really impressive.

hello and welcome to the

mythmerth 2024 merthur fic reading wrapped 💫

I am your host mythmerth, and these are my merthur ao3 fic reading stats. when I say stats, I mean lists of numbers and histograms and pie charts and all that. like im so serious its a bunch of oddly color coded numbers that also happen to mean I read a shit ton of gay fan fiction. if that’s fun for you you’re in the right place!

Before we begin with the numbers there’s some things I want to clarify:

This is not going to be my favorite merthur fic reads of 2024 because god this is loaded enough as is. if you’re looking for my 2024 recs, go HERE !! (I will link when I have the post made!)

These stats are wholly collected and compiled by me. Whenever I read or reread a merthur fic this year, I added the word count number to my list as soon as I was finished reading. I’ve seen some ao3 wrapped generators hanging around and I’m here to say that that is NOT what I used, and in fact from what I can tell would’ve been wildly inaccurate for me; this is the sweet sweet old fashioned data collection and thus has all the pros and cons involved in that.

For my data, all numbers are rounded to the nearest whole and written in the thousands unless specified otherwise. If you see a ‘26’ in my data images, assume that means roughly 26,000. For fics at a 25,501 word count, I rounded up to 26. For fics at a 25,499 word count, I rounded down to 25. the hope is that these even out at the end!

I am so excited and I have 0 regrets. 100% of these fics are merthur fics (including a very occasional poly fic) and I have never felt more off my rocker in my life.

all that being said…

it’s time for stats.

let’s begin with the complete 2024 tally before we get into the nitty gritty.

Between January and December of 2024, I read a total of 14,489,000 words. Yes, that is 14.5 million words of merthur fan fiction.

Of those 14.5 million, ~4.6 million were from fics I reread and ~9.9 million were from novel fics (aka I’d never read them before).

I read a total of 239 fics this year (N is NOT in the thousands). Of those 239 fics, 52 were rereads and 187 were novel.

Half (~119) of the 239 fics I read were above 44k and half of them were under 44k.

The average fic length id pick up was about 60k, and the specific word count I happened to read the most often was 39k.

Funnily, the average length of the fics I reread was 88k, and the average length of all the novel fics I read was 53k, so I guess I’m inclined to reread long fics more ???

The highest <completed> word count I read this year was Sorcerer’s Bane by BeautifulFiction, clocking in at a very scrumptious 265k words.

Not depicted in the image, but the longest series I read was Footloose’s ever infamous Loaded March, giving a hearty 1.26 million words to my count this year.

Now for the fun part…. monthly specifics…

From my monthly counts, May was my lowest at 732k words read and August was my highest with a very normal and regular 1.8 million words. read. in August. 1.8 million.

(once I saw those stats i wondered if I’d really gone berserk cause… what the hell was I on. is this normal? I don’t know what’s normal anymore)

I read an average of 1.2 million words per month, so I hover right around there with some exceptions (looking at you July and August. and May.)

This is a look into how I break down the months

Each novel read is noted with the right skew within the cell, and each reread is noted with a left skew. So for January, I had 7 rereads. Then I add them up and do general stats when the month is over: I read 20 fics in January that averaged at 65k each, for a total count of 1.3 million words.

Sometimes I’d mark fics in other ways to keep track of them, I did this with certain series and also to denote if a fic was unfinished. In August, I’d picked up Loaded March again and you can see those in blue. I also read Accidentally my Companion which is an unfinished work by Nakyrah, shown in green in the image (this is also the longest fic I read this year if you count ongoing, it’s at 276k as of now so check it out tehe)

I messed around with some histograms too~

While this is set up as a ‘histogram’, this is actually all 239 fics I recorded one by one laid out as a chaotic strip of lines. Each line is a fic, the height denotes word count. I have a pretty typical rhythm; read short fics between the super long ones, nothing too insane other than that diabolical spree of reading long fics I went on at the beginning of the year. I was about to get my bachelors alright? I was doing anything. my average word count in February was 114k okay I couldn’t be trusted. clearly, cause the first thing I did with my degree was make a fan fiction stat chart

Now this is a proper histogram: each bar represents a word count category and the height is how many in the category I read. As you can see, I’m very inclined to read the 23k-63k category. There’s also a spike at ~115k and I think that’s a bit funny. like why that set specifically? they Speak To Me

Speaking of fics I’m drawn to. You’re probably thinking, ‘the numbers are cool and all, but of those 14 million words of godforsaken merthur fics, what ratings did you read the most?’ I’m so glad you asked!

I read the MOST godforsaken ones.

I have no charts for this because I painstakingly went through all of my bookmarked fics from 2024 and tallied their ratings on paper to the best of my ability.

Out of the 187 novel fics I read (I don’t re-bookmark rereads so if I’d thought of this category sooner I would’ve been MUCH better off but I didn’t and now we’re here)

131 of them were Explicit (70%)

39 of them were Mature (21%)

13 of them were Teen (7%)

4 of them were General (2%)

And I guarantee the rereads look almost identical to this, if not more explicit. something about merlin and arthur and their explicit antics heal me; it’s always the filthiest I start reading when I’m feeling my lowest. I eat that shit UP. So if you’ve come to my page looking for Teen rated fics I fear this may Not Be The Place For You. I’ve read quite a number of very good T and G fics!!! I just. the mature ratings. they call me.

and lastly, I’d like to post my scrappy 2023 stats cause the year difference is. kinda funny

they consumed me body and soul and I haven’t looked back once.

Hi, it's me, fellow rabid consumer of merthur fics! I read and supremely enjoyed some of the fics in your november recs already--Sunny in Camelot is one of my favorite funny merthur fics, it always makes me laugh!

As usual, I will be relying on merthur to get me through the holiday season (Merry Christmas, if you celebrate it!). Do you have any fics that are funniest or made you laugh the most?

you and me both, I’m burning thru merthur fics rn, and coincidentally I just finished rereading one that makes me laugh so goddamn much. if you’re into or even intrigued by texting fics, I ABSOLUTELY recommend Fools by Heavenly Compulsion by horsecrazy. I’ve recommended some of their stuff before, but not yet this one. their fics are hilarious if you feel like giggling, just the way they write is so comedic and I could put nearly any of their merthur fics here. this one specifically takes the banter to another level and it’s So very silly my god

for a long fic that made me laugh a lot, it’s unfinished but still ! Accidentally my Companion by Nakyrah ! the way uther views everything in this makes me chuckle every time. the whole fic is set on an elaborate lie about merlin and Arthur and it just gets insanely out of hand, definitely recommend if you don’t mind checking out unfinished fics !

For favorite long (80k+) fic I would have to go with Hiraeth by BeautifulFiction!! yes I read it- all 500k words of it, and it was a ride and a half. Alternating POVs, canon era, time fuckery, realistic depictions of trauma, recovery, discovering themselves in this slightly altered universe, it was so interesting and thoroughly captivating like damn I really read All That

For favorite mid length (30k-80k) fic I would whole heartedly give it to Playing for Keeps by rotrude. One of my favorite fics by this author, these two are so utterly stupid about everything but also brilliant and I could not get enough reading about them. tie in that little bit of forbidden fruit vibe with modern concerts and music and orchestras, just mmmmm yes please

For favorite short fic (<30k) I’ll recommend this 32k (yes I know this is cheating) ALPHA X ALPHA!! fic I found called Smoke and Ink by KANESHON. I have read many an omegaverse fic in my time and I went on a search for alpha/alpha merthur pairings and this modern era fic didn’t disappoint, they even gave me tattoo artist goodness along with it. very nice very excellent

I didn’t read all THAT many other new fics as I was occupied with the monster that was Hiraeth, but I did read some that I enjoyed!

Unconventional Ways of Forming Relationships by rotrude. Looooove the modern era merlin x Morgana fwb too like what a messy time

Again from rotrude, I enjoyed Knight of the Temple. again this author brings so many unique plots and settings and I love it- it’s like a historical holy grail type setting, who’s doing it like them truly

From Old World to New by rotrude (guys I really have a theme) (pls just go through their fics there are simply so many to choose from) I enjoyed the many forms of 1900s tension between these two.

My favorite reread in January would have to go to Deep In My Heart I’m Concealing by Cithara. The soul bonds OUUUUU you know they get me! High emotions, canon era, lots of tension, and I for one love when Arthur just feels Merlin’s magic and it gives quite an abundance of that.

I’ve been busy but I made it!! between sickness and planning out a very far move and work I’m distracted but i am always insane about my merthur and you can rest assured of that. like i was looking at Arthur in my dream last night while i was in a Merlin POV, i wish i was kidding but I truly can never escape them

fluff vs feel good merlin fics…?

It has come to my attention from my last post with the ask about a long fluffy merlin fic that I, perhaps, do not know how to separate the definition of fluff from my own definition of feel good fics. When I think of fluff I tend to think of lovey dovey feel good hehe type of fics. HOWEVER, my definition of feel good may be different than other people and thus may not actually BE fluff…. oops!

In order to make up for this I’m gonna list off more merlin fics that I consider to be on a “fluff — feel good” scale, but first I’ll give my own interpretation of “fluff” and “feel good” so you know what to expect!

— When I think of the definition of fluff, I think of things very lighthearted, low stakes, very lovey, being emotionally and PG physically intimate (soft), playful in a sweet way, and generally just not really having the highs and lows of angsty fics.

— When I categorize something as feel good it tends to be not very stressful, minimal angst, quickly resolved/humorous relationship issues, powerful characters, has a hopeful tone/no doubts about a happy ending, makes me laugh multiple times, and high in emotional and physical intimacy (and yes I am a Smut Enthusiast). Some feel goods have more or less of these than others for me but that’s what the scale in my head is weighing them on.

that being said, to the best of my ability here is the list ranked from fluff to feel good merlin fics! fluff fics are often a lot shorter than the plotty ones (but I tried to throw some longer ones in as well that I’d consider to have a good amount of fluff BUT these also tend to have more angst so you’ve been warned)

Tales of Magic by amithia. Soft, developing relationships, gentle magic/love

We Can Always Run by kairennart and queerofthedagger. Long, some angst, strong bonds and soft moments, adventureful

Ironing Out the Kinks by Lex18. Long, so smutty, like 90% smut but also soft, quickly resolved issues

All Things Loved and Lovesick by horsecrazy. So funny, strong bonds, humorous miscommunication

We Are All Diamonds by Footloose. Long, strong bonds/love, soft moments, power duo, quickly resolved issues

The fools will still be fools by horsecrazy. So silly, smutty, low stakes

Evil Overlord Inc by Footloose. Long, very silly, power duo, high stakes but also not worried about it

feel good

I feel like with BBC Merlin fics it’s hard to find low stakes/no angst fics! maybe it’s just my lists, and also that I was trying to avoid making this all lower word count fics (there’s definitely some 40k’s I left out if anyone’s interested), but once the word count rises it’s tough to find. hopefully this agrees well enough, I scoured the fluff tag I swear but the angst sneaks up in there too

I also have noticed that I might not actually read a whole lot of pure fluff? I very specifically seek out mature and explicit merlin fics, which I think is partially the cause of that. Also merthur and fluff are hard earned; the rivals/strangers/enemies to lovers goes STRONG and so rarely do we get to fluff very quickly. There’s always some stressful situations these two are in I swear to god. also please note that I have read SO goddamn many fics that any rank inaccuracies are likely also due to my memory blurring on fic specifics,,, my apologies for this! so take the specific ranks with a grain of salt- I don’t remember the exact details of all of these, more so the impact they left on me as a whole!

from my November readings, I’ve collected a few more merlin fic recs for the people…

For favorite long (80k+) fic, I would have to choose Gladiator by Clea2011. It’s 115k and has some really intense moments followed with a wonderful growing love story woven in to it. arthur as a gladiator goes kind of hard even if he’s fighting for his life. also the dragons are very present in this and I do love my dragon content!

For favorite mid length (…40k-80k) fic, id have to choose Public Image by an orphaned account. As someone who has had a Great Deal of text/online friendships and relationships, I absolutely adored the type of text based development these two had. they’re just both obsessed with each other but trying and failing to hide it, LOVE that shit

For favorite short fic (<40k), you may have noticed that for this month I have changed the bar of short fic to less than 40k instead of 30k and it’s because I REALLY enjoyed this 39k apocalypse fic and wanted to put it here :’D Land of Ghouls by rotrude was so intense and had me clutching my chest but was exactly what I was looking for with zombie apocalypse merthur; not something I’ll fully sob about, but keeps me on my toes.

Here’s a few more rapid fire fics from this month! I read more long ones than usual tehe

Sunny in Camelot by foxy_mulder is a really silly quick read, just ridiculous and plays heavy on the “what the hell does Merlin do” gag! I don’t typically read super short fics but I love these type

Somewhere between the Sand and the Stardust by Cithara was a great canon era long read; merthur PARENTS 💞

I FINISHED LOADED MARCH! Do or Die and At the End We Begin Again by Footloose had me absolutely floored. I apologize because you can’t read these as standalone fics and yes there’s a million words that come before them, but if you like wartime modern magic merthur where Arthur’s a military mastermind and Merlin is a tech genius (and yes I mean those 100% seriously they are so badass), read loaded march. It’s got the most scream worthy merthur devotion I’ve ever read and that’s saying something. Do or Die was masterful and so action packed. We begin again was a perfect and beautiful ending that made me tear up. you won’t regret getting into this series!! and I may make a full post about my thoughts on each installation at a later date, it’s really that good.

With my loaded march plug out of the way, my favorite reread this month… would have to be ever popular The Crown of the Summer Court by astolat! It’s not long and such a fun read, I love imagining Merlin getting Arthur all ready for another kingdom to come only for them to be solely invested in Merlin, like what an excellent concept. lighthearted and so fun, if you haven’t checked it out I definitely recommend it!

It’s December… end of the year… and while everyone’s getting into their Spotify wrapped, I’m gonna be doing my 💫 2024 Merlin fic reading wrapped 💫 which is exactly as unhinged as it sounds. If you’ve ever wondered what my gay donut profile photo is here, stay tuned for it cause yes it is Merlin related in a very diabolical way. I’m excited to get into this insanity and I hope it’ll be as silly for you as it is for me.

from my September readings I’ve collected a few merlin fic recs for the people…

For favorite long (80k+) fic, it was The Great Merlin Bake Off by Elizabeth. 102k and it delivered with baked goods that made me want to bake them despite my pathetic baking knowledge along with some exquisite kitchen tension. I never knew how badly I needed this fic until I read it and I Will be rereading.

For favorite mid length (30-80k) fic, it was The Fools will be still Fools by horsecrazy. Might’ve been my overall favorite for the month, just SO silly with classic modern merthur moments and god yes trap these fools on a train and give them one bed please and THANK YOU🙏🏻

For favorite short (>30k) fic, it was On a Snowy Evening (paint the forest with color remix) by alby_mangroves. Such a soft story full of love and destiny and art by crimsonswirls. I’m a sucker for a reconnection fic with soulmate bond realness and this was such a pleasure to read.

(YES I know that 80k is long and even 30k is pretty long for “short” but lord help me my reading distribution is SKEWED HEAVY in the 40-70k range)

I’ll rapid fire a few more that I also really enjoyed!

The Matched series by SubmissivelyWritten, haven’t finished the series yet but I’m close!

The Only Safe Thing by SPowell, I’m a sucker for roommates and arthur in this is sooOoOooO!! lovely.

The View from the Mountain by Nympha_Alba. soft and beautiful and now I want to travel

Anything by horsecrazy, I really enjoyed their writing!

and my favorite reread of the month was All the Dead are Here by Footloose. like if I’m gonna reread anything we all know it’s gonna be footloose excellence. if you enjoy BAMF yearny merthur matching each others crazy during an apocalypse, I absolutely recommend.

if anyone’s wanting more niche categories for recs or want a different format for this monthly breakdown let me know! I’m kinda just trying this out right now so I don’t know the proper etiquette for this stuff, I just wanna share some of my faves. also feel free to ask for any specific kinds of fics and I will give because lord do I Read.
