You were Luffy's caretaker and teacher. While his grandfather was a high respected Marine, he entrusted you with his grandson whenever he wasn't available to take care of him.
"I'm bored of this," Luffy said as you two were going over some reading.
"A good pirate should know how to read."
"Yeah but I should be preparing to set sail when Shanks comes back," Luffy said.
"How about this? We can go see Shanks today since he is suppose to be back today after we finish our lesson?" You asked him.
"Alright!" Luffy smiled before looking down at his book.
True to your word, you both headed over to the dock where you saw Shanks's ship. You watched as Luffy rushed over to the deck before helping out.
"Luffy! I was wondering when you'd pop up," Shanks said as he finally noticed the small boy. You leaned against the edge while Shanks looked around before finally seeing you. His smile widen a little more before walking over towards you.
"And how are you, my dear Y/n?" Shanks asked as he raised your hand to his lips.
"Nice to see you again Shanks," you smiled at him.
"I'm not joking! I'm ready to join your crew," Luffy insisted to Shanks.
"The sea isn't a child's game. It's dangerous. The scars on my face are proof of that. Besides, I need someone to watch over Y/n and I trust you," Shanks told Luffy as he continued to help his crew unload their ship.
"I can do it, Shanks. I swear," Luffy said.
"You're not ready."
"I am. And I'll show you!" Luffy said before rushing off in the ship. You walked over to Shanks before placing your hand on his. He looked over at you as you gave him a look.
"You really need to be more easy on him. You know how he can be," you tell Shanks.
"Better a disappointed kid now than a dead one later."
"I blame you for being a good pirate and influencing him," you tell him.
"I missed you. Let's celebrate my return tonight together shall we?" Shanks asked you.
"Hey, Shanks!" You heard Luffy. You quickly turned around to see Luffy standing on the top of the view port making you gasp once you saw the knife.
"Luffy! You better come back down here and put that knife back where you found it!" You tell him.
"Listen to Y/n, Luffy. Before you hurt yourself," Shanks called out.
"I'm not afraid of getting hurt. And I'll prove it to you," Luffy yelled before stabbing right below his eye.
"Luffy!" You screamed in shock and horror.
"Get the first aid kit! I'll get him down," Shanks told you. You nodded before rushing out of the ship to grab your first aid kit.
"Why would you do that to yourself?!" You asked Luffy as you stitched him up.
"You could've stabbed your eye," Shanks told him as he sat next to you.
"I was aiming for it, but I missed," Luffy told you.
"Ow," Luffy said as you tightened the stitches a little.
"I thought you said you were tough," Shanks asked him.
"I am! Y/n is just being a little too rough. I want everyone to see my scar," Luffy said.
"Scars don't make the man, Luffy. It's the lesson behind the scar and you didn't earn this one," Shanks told him before tapping his cheek.
"Then let me earn it. I'll be the best pirate ever. Look, I've been practicing what my face is gonna look like on my wanted poster," Luffy said before making a face. You shook your head at him as you gathered your things.
"You are going to give me a heart attack, Luffy," you tell him as you ruffled his hair. You stood up and walked away to put your first aid kit back.
When you made it back to the bar, you saw Shanks walk up to your with your favorite drink. You sat on the chair next to the bar as you faced Shanks. He raised the glasses to you with a smile.
"Have a drink with me," Shanks told you.
"I need to look after Luffy."
"One drink. Then later tonight, you meet me at my ship and we can have our little reunion?" Shanks insisted.
It was no doubt that the two of you had feelings for one another. Shanks loved how soft and caring you were while you loved his gentle touch when it came to you.
"Fine. I hope I don't find anything that belongs to another woman in your ship again," you tell him, remembering the last time you went to his ship after Luffy was asleep.
"It was one time and you know I changed my ways for you," Shanks said as he wrapped his arm around your waist. You took a swing of your drink before giving him a light kiss on the cheek.
Once it became nightfall, you got Luffy ready for bed so you could meet with Shanks. After finding out that he ate a devil fruit, you were livid but you knew that Luffy didn't understand what power and weaknesses the devil fruit had affected him.
"I don't know why you won't let us go with Shanks," Luffy said as you tucked him in.
"You know that the sea isn't for me and you aren't ready to be a pirate. Even if you did eat a devil's fruit," you tell him.
"But you and Shanks love each other. Why can't we just sail with him? I can learn how to be a pirate and I'm stronger now," Luffy said.
"Your grandfather will kill me if I just took you away. And like I said, I am not too fond of the sea. Now it's time for bed for you," you tell him.
"Fine. Goodnight, Y/n."
"Goodnight, Luffy."
Once he was fully asleep, you walked over to Shanks's ship where you could see his quarter's lights on. You walked over to his room where he lied on his bed with his shirt off.
"Getting straight to the point now are we?" You teased as you closed the door behind you. You locked the door before walking over towards his bed. Shanks sat up so you could stand in between his legs.
"I missed you, my love," Shanks said as he pulled you down on the bed with him.
He cupped your cheeks as he kissed you passionately. You cupped his cheeks as well, smoothing your thumb against his scars below his eye.
"I missed you too," you tell him in between kisses.
"Let me have you for tonight," Shanks said as he undid your dress. You sat up before slipping it off of your body.
"You're as beautiful as the day I met you," Shanks praised as he sat up to kiss your body.
-
"How long are you staying this time?" You asked him as you both lied in his bed. Your naked bodies was covered by the thin blanket as you both held onto each other.
"Till tomorrow," Shanks told you.
"How long will you be gone?" You asked. Shanks stayed quiet making you look up at him.
"Shanks. How long will you be gone?" You repeated.
"We're not coming back this time, my love," Shanks told you.
"What?"
"Come with me. I'll take care of you and-"
"Shanks, my home is here. And I can't leave Luffy. He's still a growing boy and I could never forgive myself if I were to abandon him," you tell him as you sat up.
"My love-"
"Shanks, I'm not joining you in the sea and you know why. I'm sorry," you tell him as you got up and put your clothes back on.
"Stay the night. Please," Shanks said as he held your hand.
"I can't. I think it's best if we ended this," you tell him.
"I don't want this to end. Please, Y/n. Come with me to find the One Piece and we can live our lives out together," Shanks told you. You shook your head at him before giving him one last kiss.
"I love you, Shanks. But I can't leave here. Not yet at least," you tell him before walking out.
-
The next day, you watched as Shanks says his goodbye to Luffy. You stared as he gave his hat to Luffy before making eye contact with you. He walked over towards you before taking something out of his pocket.
"I saw this while I was away and wanted to give it to you," Shanks said as he held out a beautiful ring.
"Shanks-"
"I just want you to know that I want you, my love. Will you wait for me?" Shanks asked.
"You need to find that one piece soon so you can come back and get me," you tell him with a small smile.
"I'll come back for you. I promise," Shanks said before sliding the ring onto your finger. He quickly gave you a kiss before walking away.
You put an arm around Luffy as you watched Shanks's ship sail off. You both waved at him as he stared at the two of you.
"When I become King of the Pirates, I'll give you a nice home where you and Shanks can live the rest of your lives together," Luffy tells you. You smiled down at him before ruffling his hair.
"I'll hold you to that," you tell him.

Vada Cavell x Footballer!GP! Reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You walk through the crowded hallways, a black bookbag hanging off your shoulder. You look around and see the people you know, and those you don't. You make your way to your classroom, immediately recognized by your best friend. "There she is!" He shouts from his seat, raising his hands in the air.
"Ethan... it's like eight in the morning. Why are you shouting?" He laughs and pats the seat next to him. You take your seat and start to unpack your bag. "Coach cancelled practice for today. Something about giving us time to mentally prepare for the game."
You raise an eyebrow in surprise. "That's so unlike him." Ethan nodded in agreement. "Yeah, but I'm not complaining. It's nice to have a day off."
"Wanna hang out after school?" You ask, placing your notebook on your desk. The brown-haired boy leans into his chair, a smug smile on his face. "No, can do."
A smile makes its way on your face. "What's that look for?"
He shrugs, "Oh, nothing. It's just that Mia Reed and I are going to this Taylor Lift concert together."
You snort at the mess up of the Singer's name. "You mean Swift?" He rolls his eyes. "Yes, that's what I said, Taylor Swift." You shake your head, amused. "Just don't make that mistake in front of Mia."
Ethan has had a crush on Mia since middle school. But he's always been too scared to talk to her, so he'd always comment and support her dance videos on Instagram. He would often try to find ways to run into her, but he could never find the courage to talk to her.
"Wait," You furrow your eyebrows, turning to Ethan completely. "How did you even finesse a date with Mia Reed?" Ethan smiles and shrugs. "What do they say again? Drunk words are sober thoughts?"
You shake your head and laugh. "I was drunk out of my mind during Max's spring break party, and then I saw Mia... and I just went for it." You had seen Mia around school but had never actually talked to her.
You were surprised that she even agreed to go out with him. Ethan could be surprisingly daring when he wanted to be. "You're a brave guy," he holds up a finger. "A brave drunk guy!"
"Also you'd never believe who else I seen at Max's party." "Who?" you asked, curious. He grinned, "Fucking baby Adam Sandler, Vada!"
You stared in disbelief. "You're such a liar." He shakes his head, sitting up in his seat. "Bro! I swear to god! She was there! In her oversized clothes and everything."
You narrowed your eyes at him, still skeptical. He laughs at your facial expression, "Maybe if you had gone then you could've seen yourself." He says in a sing-song tone.
You shake your head and turn away, still unconvinced. He laughs again, "Well, believe me, or not, I'm telling the truth." He shrugs.
Your teacher then walks into the classroom. You glance back at him, trying to figure out if he's telling the truth. He winks at you and turns away, leaving you unsure. As your teacher brings the lesson your mind wanders off.
Vada Cavell, whose last name you only found out due to her Instagram page. Kind of like Ethan, you've been liking Vada for a while but never built up the courage to talk to her or ask her out.
It's been months of admiring her from afar. She was beautiful in person and you found yourself totally mesmerized by her. You liked the way she dressed, unbothered by how anyone else thought of it, you liked the way her smile lit up the room.
You just had to talk to her, but you hesitated. You felt like you could never measure up to her. You wondered if she could ever like you, too.
You only seen Vada talk to her friends from the beginning of the year. It was Nick, Mia, and Quinton. You felt like an outsider, not part of their group.
You were too shy to approach her, and you were afraid of getting rejected. You also felt like you were the total opposite of Vada's type, so you decided to stay on the sidelines and admire her from a distance. You wanted to get to know her but you weren't sure how to start a conversation.
The rest of the day went by fast. Before you knew it you were back home, greeted by your cat and your mom. "Hey, honey. You're home early."
Your mom speaks up from the kitchen, while your cat rubs itself against your leg. Taking off your jacket and bookbag, you smile and reply. "Yeah, coach cancelled practice." You give your cat a few scratches before heading off to the kitchen to join your mom.
"Really? That's surprising." You laugh, peeking into the pot your mom was stirring. "Yeah, that's what I said."
"What are you making?" you ask, taking a seat at the kitchen table. "Spaghetti." She smiles, adding stuff to the pot. You feel a wave of warmth wash over you as the familiar smell of your mom's cooking fills the kitchen.
You watch as she expertly moves around the kitchen, adding ingredients to the pot. "I have to work late tonight, so I figured I'll start dinner early." She stirs the contents and you can smell the delicious aromas wafting from the pot. She gives you a smile, and you are grateful that she is willing to take the time to make dinner for the both of you.
"Ma, you should be resting. I can cook dinner." She waves her hand at you dismissively. "I want to do this. After all, it's my job to take care of you."
She pours some more ingredients into the pot, and the smell of the food intensifies. "What if I got a job? So you don't have to work late shifts anymore?" You suggest, a frown on your face.
She pauses for a moment, before shaking her head. "No, you need to focus on your studies and football. You worked hard for your starting spot, honey." She smiles sadly at you, before stirring the pot and humming a song.
She stops, "Now, go take a shower. It's almost finished." You nod and walk away, feeling a bit defeated. You know she only wants the best for you, but it's still hard to hear. You take a deep breath and head for the bathroom.
You take a long shower, letting the hot water wash away the disappointment. You remind yourself that you are doing your best and that will have to be enough.
Taking a deep breath, you step out of the shower and head back into the kitchen. After eating dinner with your mom, you begin scrolling through Instagram and TikTok. You soon find yourself laughing at memes and videos, allowing yourself to forget the stresses of the day for a few moments.
Hours pass and you soon realize it's time for bed. You turn off your phone and crawl into bed, just as you're about to drift off to sleep, your phone dings. It was a message from Ethan.
ethan - best fucking concert ever
ethan - im officially a swiftie
ethan - taylor's songs are anthems for my life. everything she does is iconic. she's my queen.
you - i'm guessing it went well with mia?
ethan - well? it went amazing bro
ethan - she wanted to hang out tmr but she has plans w adam sandler
you - oh thats a shame
ethan - omg i jus got the best idea evr
you - which is
ethan - A DOUBLE DATE
you - ethan no.
You place down your phone, and it vibrates from the amount of messages you're receiving. You lay back down, but of course, your phone starts ringing. And it's Ethan, obviously.
You sigh, but you pick up the call anyway. "Listen to me! It's a great idea!" He shouts through the speakers of your phone, You groan and roll your eyes, but you can't help but be amused. You reply, "Okay, I'm listening."
Ethan begins to explain his idea in more detail, "Okay look! If I text Mia, right now saying what if me and you both go to the arcade with them, she'll be like sure! Then that means I get to hang out with Mia and you finally get to meet Vada."
Ethan smiled, knowing he had found the perfect plan. You chew the inside of your cheeks, debating if you should agree to Ethan's plan. You take a deep breath and finally give in, deciding that this could be the start of something good.
He quickly texts Mia, and after a few moments, she replies agreeing. "Looks like we got ourselves a double date." Ethan and Mia started to chat excitedly about the date, and you couldn't help but feel a bit of excitement as well. You hadn't been on a date in a while and it felt like a new adventure. But was this actually a date, or just a way to hang out with friends? You weren't sure.
You woke up to a shout of your name. You quickly scrambled out of bed and rushed to the living room. There was your mom standing in the doorway with a wide grin on her face and Ethan right beside her.
"Ethan's here." You send a tired smile to your mom, "How was work?" She shrugs, "It was alright. Come here and give Ethan a hug." You side-eye Ethan, who opens his arms wide, a goofy smile on his face.
"C'mon Y/N/N! Hug me!" You reluctantly walk over and give Ethan a hug. He squeezes you tightly and laughs. Your mom smiles, watching the two of you before turning to head upstairs. Ethan lets you go and gives you a pat on the back.
You take a few steps back and he grins at you. You smile back, "Why are you here so early?" Ethan shrugs, "Your mom said it was okay. Plus it's 3 o'clock in the afternoon." You nod, and Ethan takes a seat on the couch.
He looks around and then turns back to you, "So, what have you been up to today?" You shrug, "Not much. Sleeping."
"I can tell," he motions his hands above his head, basically telling you your hair was a mess. You laugh and run your hand through your hair, trying to tame it. You look back at Ethan and smile, "What about you? What have you been up to?" He grins, "Talking to Mia."
"Oh, really?" You raise your eyebrows. "And what did she have to say?" He shrugs. "She said that they'll be at the arcade at around six."
You nod, sitting down on the couch as well. "Wanna watch The Walking Dead?" He nods and smiles. "Sure, let's watch it!" You grab the remote and search for the show getting comfortable on the couch. The episode starts with a bang, and you both settle in to watch.
Two hours later, you two are still glued to the screen, eagerly awaiting the next plot twist. Once the episode ends, you turn to your friend and say, "Shit! What time is it?"
Ethan, eyes wide, checks his watch and gasps. "We have to go, now!" He exclaims. You both jump up but you pause, "Wait! I gotta shower, do my hair-"
"Less talking and more doing!" Ethan pushes you to the stairs, and you begin sprinting up them, almost running into your mom. She steps aside to let you pass, a mix of surprise and amusement on her face as she watches you go.
Quickly you take a shower and change into a clean set of clothes. Not before fixing your hair and spraying on cologne, you head downstairs, ready and excited. Ethan is waiting for you, a satisfied smirk on his face, and together you leave.
When you arrive at the arcade you see Mia and Vada. Mia's smiling and waving excitedly at you both while Vada kicks a nearby rock. You both walk over and Mia gives Ethan a big hug.
Vada stands off to the side, her arms crossed but a small smile on her face. You look around and see the arcade bustling with activity, and you know you're in for a night of fun. "Hey, guys!" Ethan says, smiling. You look at Vada, and your heart beats like crazy.
"Hey, Vada." She smiles. "Ready for a night of fun?" she asks, her eyes twinkling. You can only nod as you follow the couple into the arcade. Almost immediately, Ethan and Mia go off and do their own thing leaving you and Vada alone.
Vada points to a game ahead of you. "Let's see who can get the highest score," she says with a mischievous smile. You nod and the two of you start to play. After a few minutes of intense competition, Vada ends up with the highest score.
She laughs and celebrates her victory, and you can't help but smile widely. "If I knew you were such a sore winner I would've tried harder." Vada gives you a playful shove and giggles. "You'll have to try harder next time!" she says. The two of you soon move on to the next game.
In watching you press the start button, Vada admits, "I'm bad at basketball." You pick up a ball, looking at her smiling. "That's ok, I'm pretty bad at it too," you reply. She furrows her eyebrows, "I thought you played basketball?" You shoot the ball, and it doesn't even hit the rim.
"Actually-" She starts, and you let out a loud laugh. She joins in your laughter. "I play football," you say continuing the shoot the remaining balls in front of you.
"But like aren't you supposed to at least have good accuracy? A blind person could shoot better than you." You chuckle, "I'm more of a receiver, not a quarterback." You shoot the last ball which ends up bouncing out of the cage from hitting the rim.
You catch the ball easily, placing it down. She shakes her head and grins. "I stand by my statement. You're terrible." She presses the button, picking up the basketball in front of her. "Watch and learn."
The first one she shoots goes in, "Lucky shot." You mumble, and she smiles in response. The second one also goes in, and the third and fourth too. "You lied to me. You said you sucked." She laughs, and sets up the next shot. "I never said I was suck, I just said I was bad." She takes the shot and it swishes through the net. "What the fuck?"
She turns to you and grins. "You see? I told you I was bad, not suck." You can only stare in amazement as she lines up the next shot and scores again. She laughs and walks away, leaving you in awe. "You lied!" You yell out as you follow her. She laughs again. "I'll let you in on a secret."
She stops and turns around, her face serious. "In order to score all the shots, you have to aim for the back of the rim. And then once you do that, calculate how much power you're putting into your shot. That way you'll be able to get a better idea of the trajectory the ball will take. And you'll have a better chance of making the shot." You squint your eyes at the girl, tilting your head a bit.
She bites her lip in response. Adorable, she thinks. "How do you know all of that? Or like, how'd you even figure that out?" She shrugs, a smirk playing on her lips. "I came here before with Quinton." Your eyes widen in surprise. "Really? You two are...close?"
"We're friends." Is all she says. She looks away and takes a deep breath. "But yeah, he's a good friend." She smiles and looks back up at you, her eyes twinkling. "Wanna get something to drink?"
You nod and smile, and the two of you head to grab a drink. "Look, I'm gonna show you how to make the best slushie you'll ever fucking taste in your life." You grab a cup, joining Vada in front of the slushie machine.
Vada begins to explain the steps, and you find yourself getting more and more invested in the process. You join in, and together you prepare the perfect slushie. You take a sip and it's everything Vada promised. "Wow."
"Right!" Vada grins with satisfaction. Your eyes look around the arcade and you notice Ethan and Mia shooting water blasters at the target together. "You know, they're kind of cute together." Vada looks at the two, nodding in agreement. "It was bound to happen eventually. She's been crushing on the guy since sixth grade."
You furrow your eyebrows, your head snapping at the shorter girl next to you. "Really? Ethan too!" Vada laughs, a smile on her face. "That's crazy. It's been obvious to everyone but them." She turns back to the two, watching them laugh and shoot water blasters in sync. "They just need to tell each other how they feel."
"I mean...It's not that simple." You say, taking another sip of your slushie. Vada shrugs. "It's worth a try. I mean, what have they got to lose?" You shake your head. "I don't know. It's a risk they might not want to take."
You're beginning to wonder if you're talking about Ethan or yourself. Vada looks at you with a knowing look. "You never know. Sometimes taking a risk can be the best thing to do." You take a deep breath, considering her words. "Yeah, I guess you're right."
"I'm glad you agreed to come, I would've been third-wheeling the entire night." You laugh, "I'm glad I came too." You never know. Sometimes taking a risk can be the best thing to do. Vada's words basically repeat in your head, "I uh, I've actually been wanting to talk to you for a while." You admit.
She looks surprised but pleased. "Really? I had no idea!" You nod and smile, feeling relieved that you finally said it. "Yeah! I just didn't know how to approach you." She smiles, her dimples appearing on her cheeks. "Dude, it's not like I would've bit you if you tried to make a conversation with me."
You both laugh and the tension between you dissipates. She looks at you, her eyes twinkling with amusement. "So, what do you want to talk about?" You shrug, using your straw to stir around your drink. "Favorite color?"
"Easy. All of them." She smiles and takes a sip of her drink. "I guess I can't argue with that. Favourite movie?" She pauses for a moment, thinking. "It's hard to pick just one, but I think it's The Staircase. I watched it a thousand times." You hum, "I've never watched it before."
"Wait, what?" She shakes her head in disbelief. "You have to watch it. It's a classic!" You shrug. "I'll watch it. What's it about?" She grins. "It's about this white guy who murders his second wife, and probably his first wife, and gets away with both."
You look at her, surprised. "That sounds intense. Is it a true story?" She laughs. "No, it's a movie. You'll love it. What's yours?"
You open your mouth to speak but she cuts you off. "Lemme guess. Tom Brady Documentary: True Stories." You start to laugh. "Yeah, that's it. It's a classic." She laughs. "See, I knew it!"
"But actually, it has to be How To Build a Better Boy." You say, watching her face to see her reaction. She looks shocked, "Wait that one sappy Disney movie?"
"It's not sappy." She laughs, "Yeah, right. I'm sure it's full of life lessons and cheesy dialogues." You smirk, "Maybe, but it's still worth watching."
She shakes her head, "I don't believe you. There's no way it can be that good." You shrug, "Trust me. I promise you won't regret it." Vada takes another sip of her drink, only to realize she's finished it. She looks up at you with a questioning gaze.
You smile and offer her some of your drink. "Trust me how I trusted you to make this drink." Vada hesitates, then takes the drink from you. "Okay. I'll watch it tonight, and then first thing in the morning I'll tell you if it was good or bad."
You nod and watch her take a sip. "You'd need my number for that." She smiles, takes out her phone and hands it to you. You add your number, then hand it back. "I'll be waiting for your call then." You wink and she laughs, taking another sip of the drink.
Ethan and Mia make their way toward you two, smiles on their faces. "You guys ready to go?" You both nod, and you all make your way out of the arcade. You all walk out, the cool night air bringing a sense of peace. You and the girl share a glance, and she smiles. You both head to your respective cars and drive off in different directions.
"How was it with Vada?" You reply, "It was great. She's a really cool girl." Ethan smiles and you ask him how it went with Mia. "We had our first kiss." Ethan's face lit up with excitement. "WHEN?"
He shyly looks away and replies, "Just a few minutes ago. You missed it being too oo la la with Vada." You roll your eyes smiling and give him a high five. Ethan grins and says, "It was amazing." He then pulls out of the parking lot, turning on his blinker and making a left towards your place.
Meanwhile, in Mia's car, she and Vada are talking about you. Mia teases Vada about her crush on you. Vada blushes and laughs, still a little embarrassed. "I mean she's cute and I can tell she really likes you."
Vada looked away, still blushing. "I don't know what you're talking about," she said, laughing. Mia just smiled and shook her head. As soon as Vada got home she was questioned by her mom.
Vada quickly changed the subject, not wanting her mom to know what had happened. Vada's mother gave her a knowing look but didn't press the issue. Instead, she just said, "Well, I'm glad you had a good time." Vada smiled and nodded, grateful that her mom hadn't pushed the matter any further.
She fell against the couch, hesitating before turning on How To Build a Better Boy, your favourite movie. The movie started and Vada felt a sense of relief as her mom left the room. She curled up in her blanket and let herself get lost in the movie.
"Perfect boy but his name is Albert! And how'd he get a car...plus why'd he just throw his keys to a random guy?" Vada mumbles to herself, confused at the logic of the movie.
She giggled at the absurdity of it all, hoping the movie would eventually make sense. Despite the silliness, she couldn't help but be drawn in by the characters and their stories. Vada watched with anticipation as the movie unfolded, eager to find out what would happen next.
Until Amelia comes down, standing in front of the TV. Vada groans at her little sister, "Dude. I'm trying to watch something." Amelia turns to her with a small frown, "I wanna watch too." Vada reluctantly scoots over to make room for her, rolling her eyes in an attempt to hide her growing smile. They cuddle up on the couch, ready for whatever the movie had in store.
The sisters watched the movie, laughing and pointing out silly things until it was time for bed. Vada tucked Amelia in, giving her a hug and a kiss on the forehead, before heading off to dreamland herself.
When you woke up in the morning the first thing you did was grab your phone, checking for any recent messages. You felt a wave of disappointment as you saw that no one had messaged you. You decided to go downstairs to make breakfast.
Your mom had already left for work, so it was just you and your cat, Goose. You started making a simple omelet. It was one of your go-to recipes. But gosh, was it delicious.
As you ate the omelet, you had a moment of peace, just you and your cat, and the warm and comforting taste of the omelet. Goose jumps onto the table, meowing in your face. "Goose down."
Goose meows in protest, but eventually jumps off the table. You take a deep breath, savouring the last bite of the omelet. You look down at Goose and smile, "I'll make sure to give you a treat later." Goose purrs in response, contentedly rubbing against your leg. You get up to clean the kitchen, and your phone goes off in the middle of the dishes.
xxx-xxx-xxxx - ok. i'd admit it's a very good movie
You smile, she had finally texted you.
you - see it's not sappy, but a work of art
vada - i wouldnt take it that far
you - lol, i still have to watch the stairless
Three dots appear on the screen, then disappear. You frown, continuing to wash the dishes. You pause and turn off the water, drying your hands. You pick up your phone again, Vada had texted back.
vada - we could watch it at my place
you - when?
vada - today if u want
you - ok sure
you - send me ur address
You ring the doorbell, shifting your weight from one leg to the other anxiously. "Mom! Do not open the-" The muffled voice stops once the door is swung open. You stand there, frozen, unable to move. The blonde woman smiles at you, "Hi! You must be Vada's friend. Mia is it?" You shake your head, hearing a groan come from inside the house. "Mom, this is Y/N."
You smile awkwardly, feeling embarrassed. Mom chuckled and stepped aside, motioning for you to come in. You nervously step inside, smiling at the woman who let you in.
Vada sends you a wave which you return, placing your hands in your pocket. You take a deep breath as you take in your surroundings. The home was warm and inviting, with decorations all around the place.
You follow Vada, who leads you to the living room. She offers you a seat and you sit down, feeling somewhat more at ease. "Sorry about that." You wave it off, "It's fine. She seems sweet."
"If sweet means extremely noisy and out of touch with this generation, then yes. She's very sweet." Vada sighs and sits down on the couch next to you. You can't help but laugh at her comment. She shakes her head and smiles. "She means well, I suppose." She says with a shrug.
You lean further back into the red couch, as Vada picks up the remote turning on The Stairless. Vada and you sit back and watch the movie, exchanging comments and laughs. Time passes quickly, and soon enough you both find yourselves lost in the story. "Off the bat, I knew he killed his first wife." You laugh, slightly turning your head to Vada. "I'm telling you, he did it!" Vada exclaimed.
You both chuckle and then continued watching the movie. As the movie plays, the closer you two get. Now leaning into each other, you can feel the warmth of Vada's body as your hands occasionally brush against each other.
Your conversations become more meaningful, and the laughs become genuine. The movie fades away, and all that's left is the two of you, living in the moment.
As the credits rolled, you both looked at each other in amazement. "That was one hell of a movie," you say. "I told you. That movie is the shit." You sit up a bit, your shoulder brushing against Vadas. "Okay, rate How to Build a Better Boy and then I'll rate this."
Vada takes a moment to think, then finally responds. "It was an 8/10 for me," she says. "I really enjoyed it. How about mine?" You pause to consider the movie before finally saying, "Hmm, I'd give it a 9/10. Definitely worth watching again."
Vada grins. "I knew you'd like it." She leans back against the couch and stretches her arms out. "I'm glad we got to watch it together." You give her a smile and nod in agreement.
You give her a smile and nod in agreement. You both take a few minutes to relax in the comfortable silence. Then, you break it.
"I'm really craving one of your slushies." Vada laughs. "Wanna get one?" You nod and she jumps up, pulling you up from the couch. "Let's get Albert!" Furrowing your eyebrows, you both head out the door. "Albert?"
Vada laughs again. "I was thinking about it and you literally are the fully human version of him, except you don't really look alike." You roll your eyes, but you can't help but laugh. "Albert's a douche, I'm not a douche."
Vada snorts as you unlock your chair door, getting inside together. "Albert is not a douche. He's a sweet young boy who cares about his girlfriend, and he's really good at football."
You can't help but smile, shaking your head. "Yeah, okay, maybe he's not a douche." Vada grins as you start the engine. "Exactly. So therefore you're Albert." You chuckle and put the car in gear. "Are you trying to say that I'm perfect and really good at football?"
She laughs."No, I'm saying you're not a douche. Now let's go! The slurpies are calling my name." You roll your eyes and drive away, the two of you laughing as you go.
Since that day you've been texting Vada non-stop. She doesn't seem to mind it either. You feel like you can talk to her about anything. And to add to that, you've also been talking during school. Vada had even come over to meet your cat, when your mom was at work. You two have become really close over the past few weeks. Every day you look forward to talking to her and spending time with her. You can't help but feel like you are falling for her.
"Are you coming to my game tonight?" Vada smiled at you and nodded. You felt your heart flutter. You knew for sure, you were starting to fall in love. "Yeah, of course. Even though I barely understand football." You laugh at her response, leaning into the lockers. She smiles back, her eyes twinkling. "I'll explain the rules to you," you say, your voice soft as it can be. Vada can feel her heart skip a beat, and you smile at her.
She looked away for a moment, then back into your eyes. "But if you don't carry four people on your shoulders and score like Albert, then I'm leaving mid-game." She jokes causing you to smile. You tried to think of a witty reply, but all you could do was laugh. "I'll try my best."
She smiled and put her hand on your shoulder. "That's all I ask." She patted your shoulder and walked away. You watched her leave, feeling content with your exchange. Ethan, who you didn't notice was behind you places a hand on your shoulder.
You jump in surprise. "Jesus!" He laughs. "You should relax, man. I didn't mean to scare you." He removed his hand and stepped back. You take a deep breath and let it out, relieved.
"What were you guys talking about?" You shrug, "Nothing important. She's coming to our game tonight." Ethan's eyes widen in shock, "Are you serious?" "Yeah, why?" You reply, slightly confused. He shakes his head, "Nothing, just... Mia asked herself and Vada said no."
"Hm..." You hum, unsure of what to take from the situation. "I don't know maybe she changed her mind last second." A goofy smile makes its way onto Ethan's face, "Or maybeeeeee... she likes you."
You look away, blushing. "No way," you say, shaking your head. "She's definitely not interested in me that way." Ethan gives you a knowing look. "You've been talking for weeks. I've seen the way she looks at you," he says. "You should ask her out dude." You hesitate, not sure if you should take his advice.
The bell rings, and you look at Ethan with a smirk. "Saved by the bell." Ethan rolls his eyes and laughs. "Just ask her," he says, and you cover your ears humming as you walk through the hallway.

"Check, check! Elvis, Elvis!" Ethan yells. You look at the cornerback in front of you, and give Ethan a thumbs up. You take a deep breath and get into your stance. You know that if you can get past the cornerback, and potentially win your team some yards. You focus on the cornerback and wait for the snap.
The snap comes and you explode off the line. You easily beat the cornerback and break into the open field. You know you have a chance to make a big play and you sprint as fast as you can. Ethan throws the ball to you, and you catch it successfully.
Only making it to the 45-yard line before you're tackled. The crowd erupts in cheers as you get up from the tackle, smiling. You know you've made a huge play and energized your team. As you jog back to the huddle, you can feel the momentum shifting in your favour.
The team regroups and prepares for the next play. Everyone is pumped up and ready to take it to the end zone. Ethan calls the next play and the team breaks the huddle, ready for action. Ethan snaps the ball, handing it off to the running back who earns just about 8 yards from the play. It's third down, and you need 10 more yards to get to first.
Ethan calls out the next play and the team runs it perfectly. The running back manages to break free and run for 20 yards, giving the team a first down. The team cheers in excitement as they get a fresh set of downs and move closer to the end zone. "Y/N," you perk up at the sound of your name, "Be ready." You nod as Ethan pats your helmet.
You take a deep breath as you prepare yourself for the next play. You watch as Ethan signals the play and the team begins running it. You run up to the line of scrimmage, ready to make your move.
You see a gap in the defence and make your move, sprinting forward. You catch the football with both hands and take off, running for the endzone. You feel the wind in your face as you cross the goal line and score the touchdown.
The crowd erupts in cheers as you spike the ball in celebration. You jog back to the sidelines, feeling a sense of accomplishment and pride. You know you just made a game-winning play.
Meanwhile, Vada is in the stands beside Mia yelling, "GOAALLLLLLLLL!" Mia and Vada jump up and down excitedly, hugging each other in joy. The crowd continues to cheer as you take off your helmet and raise your arm in triumph. You feel a deep sense of satisfaction knowing that your hard work has paid off.
You wave to your mom who waves back, a huge smile on her face. "That's what I'm talking about!" Your coach saying patting your back. You take off your helmet, rubbing the sweat off your forehead with your towel. "Just one more touchdown and we've made it to the playoffs, baby."
You take a moment to take in the sound of the cheering crowd and the feel of the cool night air. The team gathers together in a huddle, the defensive team heading onto the field.
As the players take their positions on the field, the energy in the stadium is palpable. The coaches call out the plays and the team readies for the snap. The opposite team's quarterback takes the ball and the game resumes.
Thankfully your defensive side was able to stop the other team, and you're back on the field. Your team huddles up and the coach gives the next play. You take your position and get ready for the snap. As the ball is snapped, you make your move and the play is underway.
You make a break for the end zone, dodging and weaving past the other team's defence. Catching the ball with ease, you can feel the cheers of the crowd getting louder as you get closer. You feel someone hop on your back, but you continue running.
You keep going until you cross the goal line and score the winning touchdown. The crowd erupts as you raise your arms in victory. You look back to see your opponent still on your back, frustrated and disappointed.
The referee quickly signals for a touchdown and you can see the joy on your teammates' faces. You look back at your opponent and offer a friendly handshake to congratulate them on a good game. The team celebrates your victory as the crowd continues to roar.
You run to the sidelines, ecstatic about the win. The coaches congratulate you on your performance and the team gathers for a group hug. You look into the stands and see Vada staring back at you, her mouth open in shock. You take off your helmet, dropping it on the ground before holding up a heart.
Vada smiles and laughs, she mimes a heart back to you, and you smile widely. Ethan brings you into a tight hug, patting your back, "HELL YEAH!" You finally feel the euphoria of a victory. You had worked so hard and it had all paid off.
You look back at the field one last time, taking in the feeling of success before you turn to join your team in their celebration. You have made it, and nothing can take this moment away from you.
Moments pass and the entire team makes its way into the locker room. Everyone is in high spirits, laughing, hugging and even dancing to the sound of the music playing in the background. You can't help but smile, happy about the win.
As the team disperses, the coach takes you aside. He looks you in the eye and says "I'm proud of you. Great job today." You feel a thank him before leaving the locker room, walking outside to the front of the school building.
Ethan, Mia, and Vada are already there waiting. Once Vada sees you she runs to you, basically jumping into your arms. You hug her tightly, feeling a warmth inside. "You did it!" She shouts, her eyes bright with excitement.
"You like actually carried that guy onto your back? I told you you're Albert!" You laugh and hug her again. "Thanks, Vada." You are interrupted by a throat being cleared, and it's your mom.
"Hey, Ma." Your mom smiles at you, holding out her arms and you step into them, contentment washing over you. She pulls away slightly, with a proud smile and says, "You should be proud of yourself, Y/N. You did something remarkable today."
You smile, feeling a warmth in my chest. "I'm glad you think so," She hugs you again and says, "I always have, sweetheart. Now go hang out with your friends." You smile wider, feeling a warmth in your chest and your eyes start to mist.
You hug her tightly and thank her, before turning to go. You pause for a moment and look back, feeling so thankful for the unconditional love you have been given.
"TIME TO PARTYYYYY!" Ethan shouts from beside Mia, who joins him. You shake your head at the two, turning to Vada who raises her head, joining in as well. You can't help but laugh at their enthusiasm and join in, feeling the energy of the night.
The four of you make your way towards Max's house. He's known for throwing the best parties at your school, but you've never gone to any of them. You've never really had a reason to, but now you kind of do.
You knock on the door and Max welcomes you all in. The house is filled with people, and loud music and the air is thick with laughter and energy. You can feel a sense of anticipation and excitement as you all take in the scene.
You look around and take it all in, feeling a bit overwhelmed but excited. You make your way through the crowd, looking for a place to sit down and relax. You finally find a spot and settle in, ready to enjoy the party. "No way you're sitting down at a party," Vada says from beside you. You swallow your drink before sending a small smile at her.
She grins and grabs your hand, leading you to the dining room. "We're gonna play beer pong. I hope you have better accuracy."
"Any challengers?" A dark-haired boy says from the other side of the table, his friend close by. "Yeah." You speak up, wrapping an arm around Vada's shoulders. "Me and her," Vada smiles, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "Ready to go?" you ask, and she nods.
The boy nods, "Okay. But just know beer pong is my calling." You and Vada exchange a knowing look, and you set up the table. The game begins and you soon find yourself in a heated battle with the dark-haired boy.
It's drink after drink, throw after throw, and soon the game is over. The boy is declared the winner with a triumphant grin on his face. Vada and you exchange an impressed look and congratulate him on his victory.
"I can't believe he won that." You mutter, a bit tipsy. Vada shakes her head, "I can. You still suck at aiming balls into stuff." You laugh and throw your hands up in defeat. "You're right, I do. But maybe I'll get better one day." You continue following Vada around the party until she suggests something.
"Wanna get high?" You look around the party and then back at Vada, "Let's do it." She smiles and grabs your hand, leading you away from the party. You quickly found a secluded corner outside, and she produced a joint from her pocket. Taking a lighter from her other pocket, "You always have a lighter and a joint in your pocket?"
She laughed, "No but... I knew I'd be going to this party. I wanted to prepare myself." You hum with a nod, Vada's eyes leave the joint before meeting yours. "Have you done this before?" You shake your head, "No. I haven't.."
She smiles, takes the joint and takes a deep breath. "It's ok, I'll show you how."Vada inhaled, and slowly exhaled. She passed the joint back to you and said, "Just take a tiny puff. Don't hold it in, just let it out." You took the joint and followed her advice. You felt a tingle in your chest as the smoke lingered in the air. You coughed a bit, but it was a good feeling. You exhaled and smiled. "See? Not so bad."
You handed the joint back to Vada, feeling a bit more at ease. You sit down on the grass, and Vada joins you laughing. "Just wait till it hits."  You close your eyes and lean your head back, savouring the moment.
You feel the warm sun on your skin and the cool grass beneath you. You can feel the effects of the marijuana start to take hold, and a peaceful calm overtakes you. "I wonder what kind of high you'll be."
"There kinds?" You smile and nod, feeling content. "There's the body high, the mental high, and the spiritual high. Each one has its own unique experience." You take a deep breath and sigh, feeling the effects of the marijuana wash over you.
You close your eyes and relax, feeling the tension in your body slowly dissipate. You smile, feeling a sense of peace and clarity that you hadn't felt in a long time. You open your eyes and take another deep breath, feeling a deep sense of connection to the world around you.
"I wonder who wrote the script for How to Build a Better Boy," Vada's eyes widen. She can't believe that's what you're talking about mid-smoke. You laugh and shrug. "It's just something I thought of. I was just trying to relax." She smiles, understanding. "Well, it seems like it worked. You look much calmer now."
You take a deep breath and smile. "Yeah, I guess it did. I'm glad I was able to take my mind off things for a bit." Vada nods in agreement, then takes a deep drag from the joint. You both take a moment to enjoy the silence and the feeling of companionship.
You turn to the shorter girl, smiling. "I wanna kiss you. Badly, I've been wanting to kiss you, but now I just really really really-" You're cut off by a pair of lips onto yours. You close your eyes and kiss her back, savouring the moment. When you pull away, you can't help but smile.
You look into her eyes and feel a warmth inside you that you never thought was possible. "I've been wanting to kiss you too." You smile wider, bringing her back into an intense kiss.
Bringing the girl into your lap, gripping her waist tightly. You can feel her heart pounding against your own. You can feel her body relax into your embrace as you kiss her more passionately. You don't know if this is just Vada or the cannabis you've inhaled, but this is definitely one of the best kisses you've had.
She pulls away and smiles at you, her eyes twinkling. You can feel the electricity between you, like something that will never be broken. You know this moment will stay with you forever.
She leans in and whispers in your ear, "I love you." You can feel your heart swell at the words. You hold her close and whisper back, "I love you too." Everything around you fades away and all that is left is the two of you in this moment. You kiss her tenderly as your hearts beat in unison.

"You've gotta be quiet!" Vada whisper yells at you, trying her best to support your weight. You nod and press your lips together, trying your best to muffle the sound of your breathing.
You feel Vada's arms tremble as she carries you through the darkness. You can sense her fear. "Ma is probably..." You start snoring and begin laughing at your own joke.
Hopefully, your mother is sleeping because of the way you're acting right now, she'd definitely tell if you're not sober. Vada stops walking and scolds you.
She tells you to keep quiet and you quickly apologize. You try to remain quiet for the remainder of the journey, but you can't help but feel a bit of excitement as you approach your bedroom.
On the second to last step, there's a creaking noise. You both tense up at the sound, waiting there a few moments before resuming your movements.
"Are we gonna make out, V?" Vada blushes, a slight smile playing on her lips. "Shh, we're almost to your room." You make it to the room, closing the door behind you. Vada then pushes you onto the bed, plopping down beside you with a heavy sigh.
You begin giggling, turning to the girl beside you. She smiles, leaning in closer. You close your eyes, feeling her warm breath on your face. You both press your lips together, eagerly exploring each other.
Your heart races as you feel her hands on your back. You break away, looking into her eyes. You both share a knowing smile, "Are you sober enough to consent?" You nod, "Yes. Now hurry... sober thoughts and drunk thoughts."
Vada laughs at your mess-up, fuck it. She was high as hell as well. She was just handling it way better than you.
You both kissed again, feeling the warmth as your bodies pressed against each other. You felt the alcohol between you, but you both knew that you were sober enough to make a conscious decision. Your hearts were pounding as you embraced each other, both of you eager for more.
You pull away, climbing onto of Vada. Vada smiles up at you as you look deep into her eyes. You lean in and kiss them passionately, your hands exploring her body. You two stay like this for what feels like an eternity, until finally you pull away, and you begin undressing.
You throw your hoodie away, and try to rip apart your white tank top but fail. Vada notices your frustration and giggles, then helps you take off your tank top, revealing your toned abs. She smiles, before reaching up and kissing you again.
She then fumbles with the buttons of your pants, and pulls them down, before pushing you onto the bed. She climbs on top of you, and begins to passionately kiss your neck and chest. You can feel her hands trailing up and down your body as she continues to kiss you.
She moves her hands to your back and pulls you closer. You can feel her breath on your skin as she whispers into your ear. She then moves her lips to yours and you become lost in the moment.
You pull away slightly, "Vada take off your damn clothes." You say fiddling with her shirt. She complies taking off her bra as well. Your mouth moves to her chest, kissing, licking and suckling as your hands wander to her shorts. You slip them off her hips, leaving her in just her panties.
She moans in pleasure as you continue your ministrations.
You move your hands further down, gently stroking her inner thighs. You pause, taking in her beauty before slowly slipping off her panties.
She smiles at you, her desire and anticipation palpable in the air. "My heart is racing so much," she admits, smiling. "Mine too," you reply, leaning in to kiss her.
Her lips are soft and inviting, and you can feel the heat of her body radiating around you. You both lose yourself in the moment, the anticipation of what's to come envelops you both.
You flip her over, laying her on her back. You begin to explore her body with your hands. Her skin is soft and smooth beneath your fingertips. She moans softly, her eyes closed in pleasure. "Y/N..."
You move your hands up and down her body, exploring every inch of her. She gasps softly as you reach her most sensitive areas. You press your lips against her clit, sending waves of pleasure through her body.
She grabs hold of your hair, her moans getting louder as you keep going. You feel her body quiver beneath you as you continue to pleasure her, her breathing becoming rapid and her body shaking with pleasure.
You can feel her nearing her climax and you increase the intensity of your motions, pushing her over the edge. Her body convulses with pleasure as she reaches her orgasm. "Ohmygod."
You kiss her body as she recovers from her orgasm, her breathing slowly returning to normal. She looks up at you with a satisfied smile, her eyes still filled with pleasure. You return her smile, happy to have been able to bring her pleasure.
You feel yourself hard against your underwear, and you know that you're ready for your own pleasure. You pull her closer to you and whisper in her ear, letting her know that you're ready. She responds with a mischievous grin, her hand moving to pleasure you.
You moan as her hand slides up and down, the pleasure building inside you. She moves her lips to yours, her tongue exploring your mouth as her hand continues to work its magic.
You can feel yourself getting closer to the edge, and you grab her hand to slow her down. She smiles in understanding and pulls away, the pleasure ebbing away. You look into each other's eyes, and you both know that this is only the beginning. "I'm gonna grab a condom." You mumble, rushing off the bed and into your drawer.
She nods in agreement, and you can sense the anticipation in the air. You come back to the bed, and she eagerly takes the condom from you. Opening the gold wrapper, you take out the condom and unroll it onto yourself, before moving to lie on top of her.
She wraps her arms around you as you take a deep breath as you slowly slide inside her, and you both gasp in pleasure.
You both moan in pleasure as you start to move, and she wraps her legs around you. You start to build up momentum, faster and faster, as you move together. The friction of the condom creates a warm, smooth sensation that sends pleasure through both of you with each thrust.
With each movement, you feel your connection with her deepen and you can feel the sensations in both your bodies become more intense.
"Vada," you sigh out, resting your head in the nape of her shoulder. She looks up at you and smiles, her eyes twinkling in the dim light. You kiss her softly and she wraps her arms around you tightly.
You can feel the warmth radiating from her body and you feel the love you have for her in that moment. You want to stay like this forever and the thought of having to part from her is too much to bear. You tightly embrace her and whisper that you love her. You feel her body trembling as she returns the embrace.
"I'm about to cum." She moans into your ear as she cums. You feel her body quivering and it sends waves of pleasure throughout your body. You hold her tight as you release as well. You collapse onto the bed, panting heavily. You lay there in each other's arms for a few moments, basking in the afterglow of your lovemaking. You kiss each other tenderly and drift off to sleep.
"Was I your first time?" She replies with a soft whisper, "No, Mia was." Your head snaps to her and she laughs, sighing out shortly after.
You take a moment to process what she said. "Really?" She nods, "It happened... multiple times... the fifth week of school." You take a deep breath and look away for a moment, trying to contain your confusion.
"Was I yours?" You shake your head smiling, "No, Ethan was." She lets out a loud laugh at your joke, laying her head on your chest. You take a deep breath and hold her close.
You feel a wave of emotions wash over you, grateful for the moment of comfort. You are filled with a sense of peace, knowing that you have someone to talk to and share your feelings with.
"I need to shower." You say. Vada nods rolling over. "You can join me, but you gotta be quiet." You smile, "Oh, you're telling me to be quiet now?"
You chuckle and lead her into the bathroom. You both take your time showering, enjoying the warmth of the water and each other's company. After, you dry off and return to your bedroom, both content and peaceful.
You wake up to a shout of your name. Looking to your left you notice Vada is still sound asleep. "Fuck," you rush up out of bed putting on your clothes before nearly darting downstairs to the kitchen, following the smell of breakfast.
Your mother is standing over the stove. Three plates of eggs and bacon already waiting for you on the table. She gives you a stern look before turning back to the stove. "There are three..." You mutter to her confused.
She points to the plates. "One for you, one for your girlfriend, and one for me. Now wake her up and come and eat."
You sheepishly smile turning on your heels to go wake up Vada.

"Love~" You whined. The both of you had been quite busy for a while, and all of your suppressed neediness only resurfaced upon the familiar sight of your beloved sitting on the satin sheets of your shared bed.
"Want you- no, need you inside, love. Pretty please?" The cool air caressed your body through the thin nightgown Ei bought for you, the one you wore for these specific nights— nights meant for the two of you alone.
However, as soon as you clung onto the far too sturdy and solid arm of the woman in front of you, you quickly regret the words that left your mouth. There is no warmth. No embrace that welcomed you into her arms like you've grown used to.
And when you look into her- its eyes, you knew that what you just said would be a grave mistake. That was not the woman you loved. The way she looked down at you with unbridled irritation and annoyance made your stomach churn and twist with fear.
Tears streamed down your face as the pads of her fingertips rubbed not-so-gently on your walls, sending small but still stinging jolts of electricity throughout your whole body.
"What's wrong? I thought you wanted me inside of you..?" The Shogun asked apathetically. Not with concern. Not with scorn. This was what you wanted, was it not? Why are you crying when she's only given you what you'd asked for?
"My Lord, please, slow down... i-it's too much-" You gasped as her slender fingers twisted and turned inside of you, abusing the same spot she found had you clinging to her shoulders for dear life. "Why? I don't understand. You asked for this."
While you did, in fact, ask for it, you wanted Ei to be inside of you. You missed the underlying sense of warmth and intimacy in her lingering touches— her ability to touch you somehow just where you want it and get you to orgasm with minimal effort.
"Explain." The Shogun's movements halted, giving you a much-needed moment to rest. You panted for breath and sputtered for words, frantically scrambling for an explanation. "I... I mistook you for Ei." You figured it'd be better to be honest with her, lest you wanted to lie and be the object of her wrath as if you weren't already.
You couldn't bear to look at the Shogun— but if you did, you wonder what you would see in those cold, desolate eyes of hers right at that moment. Would it be indifference? Anger? Perhaps, jealousy? You wouldn't ever know, and you don't wish to know.
Those thoughts are quickly washed away when her fingers start violently thrashing against your walls. "M-my Lord...! Why are you..." You mewled in pain as she bit down on your neck, blood trickling down to your collarbone. "That's right, I'm your Lord. Your Archon. Your mind and body belong to me, and they are mine to do as I please with."
"Understand; I'm not doing this for your pleasure, but because you need to learn your place." The Shogun's fingers moved in a scissoring motion, thoroughly spreading you out. Your nails clawed into her muscular back as you desperately tried to ground yourself from the mixture of hurt and pleasure you felt.
No amount of preparations could get you ready for the searing pain that coursed through your whole body as the Shogun burned her mark of ownership onto the back of your neck; a small symbol of the electro element that she governed over.
"Ei... Ei...!" You shrieked in pain as you desperately sought for the familiar yet at the same time distant comfort of your beloved Ei as you buried yourself in the Shogun's neck, but you couldn't feel any of it whatsoever.
She was merciful enough to continue thrusting her fingers into your puckering hole, alleviating your pain at the very slightest as she turned your body into a work of art of bruises, bites, and hickeys.
It was in the Shogun's nature to destroy, to ruin, and to conquer— she was well aware of that fact. It's what she was made for, and you're certainly no exception to it.
After a few seconds that felt as if they lasted centuries, the pain was gone. Though, that doesn't necessarily mean that the Shogun is done with claiming you as hers... If you could still think of Ei, or think of anything in general— it means she needs to go harder. She owns not only your body, but also your mind; and she'll make sure that you understand that.
"That's enough preparation," The Shogun pulled her fingers out, patting her thigh and signaling you to straddle her lap. "Sit." And of course, you do as you're told. Like an obedient, well-trained dog, although a bit timidly, you straddle her lap just as she asked of you.
You gulp as you hear the sizzling and crackling of electricity of thunder beneath you, both fearful and excited to see what she planned to do to you this time. Something flaccid presses against your entrance, growing harder and longer in size as time goes on.
"Hmph. That should suffice." Although whatever it was wasn't inside of you, at least not quite yet, you could feel that it was abnormally and ridiculously ginormous. Her strong hands lift your hips, aligning the warm tip to the entrance of your cunt.
"Please, my Lord! It won't fit!" The pathetically desperate last attempt you made to beg for her mercy only fell onto deaf ears. "I don't care. I'll make it fit." The Shogun growled, her hold on your waist almost strong enough to bruise.
If you thought the jolts of electricity from her fingers were intense, the voltage you felt when she suddenly brought you down to meet her electro cock was a million times worse.
Or better— you don't understand how, but it felt good. Not to mention its humongous size that made your pussy gape and throb. Contrary to what the Shogun expected, her fingers were nowhere near enough prep for you to take her cock.
"Mgh... so- hah..! deep!" You moaned. The pain slowly but surely turned into undeniable pleasure, and you couldn't deny how you were without a doubt inching closer and closer to orgasm. Not because of Ei, but because of the Shogun. The Shogun whom you and the entirety of Inazuma have grown to respect out of fear.
She raises your hips far enough so that only the tip of her cock remains before slamming you back down mercilessly. Tears continue to stream down your face; though, unlike earlier, the reason isn't because it hurt, but because it felt good.
You clawed and scratched at her back, only able to hope that she got the message that you were close to cumming. Her movements stay just as consistent, cruel, and relentless; tip kissing your cervix and shaft rubbing against spots you didn't even know you had inside of you.
"M-my Lord...!" As her thumb reached down to rub your clit, you came and squirted all over her abdomen with a shaky moan. You heaved a sigh of pleasure and relief, thinking this whole ordeal was over— that everything would go back to the way it was.
Though, when the woman stood over you, cock still standing proud with your cum forming a white ring on its base, you knew there was no going back.
"Get up. I'm not done with you yet."

Isn't it crazy how fast time passes? Well, it certainly was to you. You just couldn’t believe it had already been six whole months since your first encounter with Natasha and saying that your life went upside down thanks to her was an understatement.
On one hand it felt as if it hadn't been a day since the first time you'd stepped into her elegant home, but maybe that was only because of just how much time you'd been spending with her. Hours soon turned into evenings, which turned into nights, days and even whole weekends. She definitely seemed to like the thought of having you always ready for her to enjoy and, having the financial means to do so, asking you to spend prolonged periods of time with her, sometimes not even engaging in sexual acts for some parts of your encounters, slowly started becoming the norm. Of course she would've gladly booked you even just to watch you sip on a drink and read a book in a bikini by the pool at her beach house while she was stuck on a stupid work call, but she knew that even if her intentions were ever to be pure, they would've immediately taken a turn once she'd be in your presence. You wouldn't have been opposed to the idea either, after all Natasha's presence was slowly becoming something you simply didn't like being without and spending more and more time with her, even without doing anything at all, only kept sounding more appealing as time went on.
You soon realized that you'd just added a regular to your customers list, despite the older woman never clearly stating so. In fact, she seemed to be quite adamant in declaring that your meetings were strictly a means for her to destress only once she needed to. Maybe she was truthful and her life, which consisted pretty much only of her job, was, after all, more stressful than you thought. But something in you was telling you that it wasn't completely true. If that something was just a hopeful part of you talking, you didn't know.
What you did know pretty soon, though, was that she wasn't going to be any regular client, you just knew something different was going to happen with her, you could feel it in you, how different playfully flirting with her was, how real your nervous and timid stance was, how real your orgasms were, how real your eagerness at answering her calls was, how you found yourself thinking less and less about the money that came with her. She was as intoxicating as the most expensive top shelf liquor there was, of which she probably owned at least one bottle, and you didn't think you could've ever been more addicted to her. Of course, no matter what, her bottomless fortune was still incredibly appealing to you. How could it not be? After all, beautiful things require a lot of assets and you've always liked beautiful things, clothes, shoes, jewelry, trips, Natasha. Thankfully, your job and your clients' "generosity" had done wonders over the years at satisfying your cravings, not just through their payments, but with little gifts and rewards here and there. You weren't a sugar baby, not at all, but those kinds of people were power addicts and what better way to assert your dominance than to show off your American Express to a pretty girl and then fuck her brains out, or at least try.
It had happened again and you had spent yet another night over at Natasha's house and the more time that passed, the more you convinced yourself that she really didn't need you to placate her anger anymore. You knew by then what she was like when she needed to unload some stress and what you had been seeing recently just wasn't it. It wasn't necessarily a bad thing, she was still perfectly able to leave you limp on the bed even without being rough at all, but it was interesting how she apparently didn't want to admit that maybe she just liked to have fun together simply because.
The ache you felt through your whole body as soon as you woke up in her unfortunately empty bed was clear proof of just how easy it was for the older woman to completely wreck you without even trying. You would've gladly spent the entire day under the warm, soft covers that smelled like her until she came back home late at night, but your rationality slowly pushed your body out of the small piece of heaven you had no interest in leaving. Getting out of her illegally comfortable bed and readying yourself after such a night ended up being way harder than you expected, but you were finally able to join her in the kitchen surprisingly early, even though you were still only wearing a button down shirt, making you not truly ready but still giving you some more time to spend together before she had to go to work and you had to go back home. Your usual bad morning mood was immediately lifted as you were greeted by the back of her tall, built frame wearing perfectly tailored pants and a shirt tucked in that hugged her arms in the most delicious way possible, giving you a perfect view of her upper body clad only by a thin layer of expensive cotton thanks to the suit jacket left over the back of a chair. Maybe you could've gotten used to such beautiful sights blessing your eyes first thing in the morning.
She inexplicably looked effortlessly hot even as she simply blowed a silver strand of hair out of her face, wiped her hands on a dishcloth, that she then laid over her shoulder, and rolled up her sleeves, showing off the watch that was probably worth at least two years of your apartment rent and her slender, veiny hands. She simply looked otherworldly and you couldn't hold yourself from silently pressing your front against her back and untucking her shirt to let your hands rest on her bare stomach, hearing her lowly chuckle at your usual morning clinginess. You stayed silent for a little while, simply soaking in her presence, when you suddenly realized what you'd just walked in on.
"You know how to turn on a stove?"
You would've expected an unimpressed look if she was facing you, but her fake laugh was basically the equivalent to that.
"Ha ha. You know, I haven't always had private chefs."
You knew, of course you did, you were just messing with her and she secretly loved it.
"Did you send them away?"
"No, they're still here, in case I mess this up."
"Is the Natasha Romanoff capable of messing up something like scrambled eggs?"
She didn’t answer your question, no quick remark, no teasing, which told you that yes, she was absolutely capable of messing them up. You didn't press her, though, you were technically still on duty, even though you had a tendency of forgetting it while you were with her, and the first thing you always wanted to do was make sure to avoid at all costs any possible chance of a negative outcome. It may have sounded stupid, but those people were paying you a whole lot of money to have a good time and if something so meaningless such as talking about not being able to cook scrambled eggs could've led them to be in a bad mood then it simply wasn't a topic worthy enough, not even for friendly banter.
"Well, you definitely didn't mess it up last night…my legs are so sore and I need to be at the gym in an hour!"
Your whining as you held onto her tighter amused her, as flashes from the night before, with your arms around her and your nails on her back, made her immediately turn off the stove to turn around and finally kiss you for the first time that day, savoring your content hum at the feeling of her plump lips languidly moving against your own. You had a strange effect on her, like no other woman before, and she could barely wrap her head around it. Any time she touched you in any way, any time she talked to you, any time she was in your presence, her heart seemed to do a leap in her chest, giving her a sense of euphoria she usually felt only after a successful day at work. You were younger than her, so much younger, 32 years younger to be exact, but you strangely felt like the only woman she'd ever been with who could really be at her level. She knew she had to have you for as long as she could and you didn't seem to be too much against the idea, as you started to make more and more time out of your schedule to be with her whenever she wanted, a privilege none of your other clients ever had. Of course your agent was very happy with the new change, but she, like everybody else, only thought of it as a way for you to make even more money, Natasha was the wealthiest of your clients after all. Deep down you knew, though, that it wasn't the only reason why you kept spending more and more time with her. You genuinely liked her and the endless hours you devoted to her were making you the happiest you'd been in a while.
"I'm going to Cuba for work for the weekend, there's a free seat on my plane."
You found yourself whining and chasing after her lips as she broke the kiss to speak, but soon grew intrigued by her proposition, knowing how little work her weekend work trips actually had, usually only one or two phone calls while you sucked her off while still in bed.
"You're asking for a bit too much on such a short notice now, Ms Romanoff."
You were teasing her, making her beg for you to go, even though you knew you would have agreed way before she had to resort to begging, but that didn't mean that there wasn't some truth in your words. Given the amount of time you were spending with Natasha you often had to occupy your weekends with your other clients, who now had to book their meetings with much more notice to guarantee themselves a spot with you. You'd even lost Wanda Maximoff, one of your first ever customers, because you "even dared suggest" to move your weekly meetups from Friday to Saturday, but, as much as it pained you after everything you'd done for her for literal years, you knew that Natasha's money would've still been way more than what you needed to survive.
"I'm offering you a weekend of relaxing, squandering and fucking in Cuba, doesn't sound too bad to me."
It did not sound bad at all, it sounded like the best time you could've ever had and it pained you knowing that you had to give it up to instead spend your weekend pretending to laugh and acting like you'd never cum harder in your life with some "limp dick", as Natasha liked to call your other customers.
"Well, I have clients eagerly waiting for me on those days."
Even as you spoke those words surely, there was still a little voice in the back of your head that kept chanting over and over for you to fuck it, leave everything behind and hop on her yacht to go wherever the hell the woman you l-liked wanted you to go. It didn't happen every single time, you eventually giving in, but way more than you'd like to admit and once again you could hear that voice getting closer and closer, making it impossibly hard for you to resist her temptation, even more so at the sight of her beautiful eyes slightly darkened by hidden jealousy.
"If you blow me on my way to work I'll give you more money than all of those limp dicks together will over the fucking weekend…and of course I'll pay you for Saturday and Sunday."
Why did she have to say something like that? Why did she have to speak to you in that way, with her lips almost touching yours and her hands possessively grabbing your waist and pressing you flush against her front, unknowingly making you feel her bulge so damn well. Of course your slight shiver didn't go unnoticed by her and seeing her pupils dilate as she eyed your lips and the top of your chest only made your breathing all the more shaky as your mind finally settled on the only important person to you. You were going with her, fuck everybody, no amount of money would've been worth more than her right now.
"Now I'd be dumb if I turned down such a tempting proposal."
Of course she didn't need to know just how eager you really were and how you would've screamed YES from the tallest building in the city, not only would it have inflated her ego even more but, more importantly, she would've known just how bad you really had it for her.
"Hmm and you're not dumb, right? No, you're the smartest whore in New York City."
If only she knew how hard you would've slapped anyone else for calling you that, but coming from her only made the name sound like the best compliment you could've ever received.
Her tense expression seemed to have relaxed in the slightest at the confirmation that she was your choice, that maybe at least a part of you genuinely liked her enough that you were willing to cancel on your other customers at the last minute only for her. And just like that, she was hit by it all again, that deep need to have you, carnally and platonically. She once again felt almost overcome by it and could no longer keep herself from taking you again, you were like her own drug and you couldn't keep her from kissing you with so much passion and need that you felt like you would've never been able to stay away from her. God, how blissful it felt, how much did she get off of the power she had over you. She could've easily spent the rest of her life savoring all and every little part of you. You consumed her too much and she always felt like she needed more and more of you.
The thin layer of cotton of your shirt suddenly felt like the thickest brick wall there was and, after taking way too much time undoing your top button only, she firmly grabbed each side of your shirt and ripped it open, making every single button pup and roll over the floor. Your shocked, but secretly pleased, expression went completely unnoticed by her as she ogled at your chest, looking even more delicious to her thanks to the deep red lingerie you wore over it.
"And the hottest"
"Natasha!"
She didn't even lift her gaze to speak or acknowledge you, simply looking at your assets once more before bending over to kiss and suck the skin not covered by expensive lace, taking your breath away and making you completely forget about your famous "no marks" rule you barely cared about anymore with her.
"I'll buy you a new one"
She barely stopped her assault on the tender skin to mumble what tried to be words of reassurance before she started to push you backwards until you were pressed against the kitchen island. You barely noticed her hands sneaking down your body and only realized what she wanted to do when she was already lifting you up to make you sit on the marble counter, pushing you to lie down on the cold surface and hurriedly kissing down your front while taking off your underwear.
"Hell, I'll buy you fucking Max Mara"
Her raspy voice slightly muffled by the skin of your inner thigh as she propped your legs over her shoulders made your center tighten around nothing for just a second, before she dove into your pussy like she needed it to survive.
How the hell could you ever have thought about not choosing her?

A light had sprung within everyone, it was as if everything had come back to life. They danced, laughed and talked as if the crash had never even happened. You also danced, with anybody you could find, flinging your arms around in the air and enjoying the moment without a care in the world, smelling the breeze of a new spring and hearing the trees move their leaves.
Natalie had leaned against a table, drinking from her cup with the alcohol all of you had made. She watched you, admiring you, how the flare of your short skirted dress waved around as you danced; how your body moved so beautifully, and how you would talk to everyone but her. Her limerence for you was aching, you were just too oblivious to notice.
Her eyes shadowed you and only you, eventually you had saw her and made your way towards her - almost skipping with joy.
"Hey Nat!" You settled down next to her, grabbing a cup to match her.
"You're having fun aren't you?" She smiled with wide eyes, pupils as big as comets.
"Well I'm tired now. I'm glad we did this, it's nice isn't it?" You said, titling your head.
She just nodded, taking another sip from her drink.
"You look really pretty, (y/n)" She said as you walked away, you gave her a glance with a smirk on your face - making your way back to the rest of the girls.
-
The sun had began to set, though everyone seemed to get even more excited. You rubbed your eyes as you stretched your neck, almost exhausted from all the stupid things you managed to do during the day.
You walked into the cabin, hazy vision scanning the room for everyone. You managed to land your eyes upon Lottie, who eyed you intensely, though you hadn't found Natalie yet. Wondering where she was, you came up to Lottie. "Do you know where Nat is? I looked around the cabin but I can't find her." Your eyes wandered around as you grew worried.
"Don't worry about her, (y/n)." Her voice almost seemed distracted as she stared into you.
"But what if something happened? I wouldn't want her to-"
"Let her be."
A slow shiver overtook your spine while your lips quivered, opening to speak, ignoring Lottie moving her body closer to yours.
"She doesn't matter anymore."
You'd finally looked back at her, a strange fear overcoming your face. Her look towards you was overwhelming, you became agitated; dizzy, a cold sinking feeling breathing into you.
Your discernment had sensed everyone surrounding you, no longer making time to think of Natalie and where she could of been, or what she could've been doing. Though your eyes gazed under Lottie, holding your breath as she screamed hunger.
Suddenly, you were pushed down onto a chair, fast hands sucked onto your bones, tearing off the dress you wore. They were esurient against you, breathing into you as they slid their starved hands all across your beating chest. You sunk into their craze, losing all control and looking side to side, covered in nonsensical adrenaline.
You had noticed the face of Shauna, her dark brown eyes being darker than usual as she wrapped her mouth against your neck like an animal. Her savory cast snapped you out of your state, a switch in your mind had completely changed the direction of your thought, now you had to survive.
When you saw the chance, you ran. You ran faster than you ever did before, a blank mind coming over you as an impending feeling bled into you - you were their prey. Their animalistic noises chased you, stalking your rushing steps as you fled through the nightmare and into the dark woods.
A falter of your legs had you backed into a corner, they had caught you. The hunt was over and the only choice you had was to surrender into their compulsion, but despite that - you fought against them, though eventually a weak feeling taking over you as they stood before you.
Lottie fixed a crown onto her head, a terror blinded you in a way you had never come to experience, she was stronger than you. They were stronger than you.
Lottie's words were blunt, heavy with her desire.
"Stop fighting."
You had been tied up to a wooden post, against your weak will, they had all the power now.
"You know what to do." She turned to Shauna.
Shauna crawled towards you with a knife against your neck, you were shaking shamelessly with your head slowly moving away from her threat. She hesitated, and you watched her change back into something that resembled the slightest of human emotion, though that was quickly broken by Lottie's interference.
"It's okay, it wants us to," A smirk almost patterning her ghastly face, you were a stroke away from being killed and the fact that none of them cared wasn't endearing to you at all. Your eyes were heavy, grazed with hurt and confusion, it was all too surreal.
Shauna fixed her hand onto the grip of the blade, as she backed it to gain momentum for her slash,
Your impotence was gnashing.
-
"What the fuck are you doing?!" A familiar tone shouted, voicing into Shauna and interrupting her. In the flash of a second you were saved, saved from being met with death from your own teammates, relief settled into you, finally taking a breath of air.
Natalie rushed over to you, taking you down from the post you had been tied to, "Are you okay??" Her words were spoken in between gasps for air, you stayed silent as you regained composure and control.
"You can't just have her, Lottie, you're sick," Natalie spit her words out in disgust watching Lottie laugh through your turmoil. "She belongs to me, not you." You hadn't heard Natalie say it, you hadn't heard any of it really, your mind was preoccupied with sweaty arms and legs; muffled voices was all you managed to hear through your unfocused state, all of it had been lasting for too long and you were drained.
"You can't have her all to yourself, Natalie,"
"It's in all of us you know, even her, even you." Lottie moved close to Natalie.
They all looked at the two of you, stares still hungry for your blood - and they wouldn't stop, the hunt was not over.
Natalie caught on, your dissonance had resulted in a lack of awareness, hence you were startled as she suddenly grabbed onto your hand and ran back into the dimly lit woods. They kept on chasing you, as if you were running from wild wolves; you could almost sense the foaming of their rabid mouths, as if seeing it up close wasn't enough.
-
Natalie dropped down behind a tree when she could no longer see the luminescence of the fire, dragging you down with her. Both of you were panting like dogs, you leant your head back onto the oak and closed your eyes in solace.
"(y/n)," She spoke, her breath calming itself. "What the fuck happened out there?"
You opened your eyes back up and looked towards Natalie, eyebrows whining at her.
"I don't know, they just," You found it hard to put into words, you didn't even get time to think while it all happened.
"They just came onto me, like they were possessed or something." The night got darker, wind soothed your red face and all that could be heard was the girls running the wrong direction, further away from you and Natalie. Your attention diverted back to her, away from the sound, as she kept looking at you, even more confused than yourself.
"What do you mean came onto you? Is that why your dress is ripped?" Her brows furrowed, you'd think she was almost mad the way she spoke.
"I was looking for you and then they were all over me, so I ran. God it was fucking terrifying, Nat." Your thoughts were faster than your mouth, and you still couldn't think of how to describe it to her.
"You were looking for me?"
Natalie's expression had melted quietly, you couldn't see the anger and confusion in her anymore, like something had shifted.
"Of course, I was worried about you, you had just disappeared." You shivered slightly as a gust of wind caressed the tear in your dress.
"Here, have this." Natalie took her jacket off, shuffling closer to put it over you. You uncrossed your arms and helped her wrap it around your shoulders, "Thanks, Nat." You became warmer and smiled at her, pupils growing into her gaze as your eyes softened.
"That's so fucked up, (y/n)." Silence was broken as she spoke, slight worry still trailing in her lips.
"I know, It's like they were hungry for me. I mean I get it, we're basically fucked out here and everyone's losing their minds, but they almost killed me." Your vision was averted to the floor, questioning yourself as you spoke - trying to figure right from wrong.
You ultimately turned to Natalie, who never took her eyes off of you. "It's okay, you're safe with me (y/n)." She whispered, her sleepy hand resting on top of your legs.
You played with your fingers, smiling and looking back down as you sensed Natalie bear down on you through your peripheral, she moved slowly, keeping track of your expression. You met her eyes, illuminated by the moon that hung over you, and the stars that shined just for the two of you.
She gently raised her hand to meet your face, lowering her regard to your lips and back to your eyes, where your eyebrows raised like a hurt puppy, knees to your chest.
"That dress looked gorgeous on you, by the way."
Your cheeks flustered. She tucked a piece of loose hair behind your ear before leaning into you, softly meeting her lips with yours. She tasted like berries and alcohol, your lips moving in sync. The breeze was soft, and you were gasping for air, grazing her beautiful moonlit face with your desperate eyes before falling further in.
-
You spent the rest of the night sleeping in the woods, gazing intently at the stars that appeared throughout the night, holding onto each other for the warmth that left with the day, your head resting on her chest.

Birthday Wishes - Arthur Leclerc
Tumblr media
<word count - 1657>
Tonight was going to be the third date you would have with Arthur, and you were beyond excited. You had immensely enjoyed the other two dates you had been on with him, and he truly was one of the sweetest guys you had ever had the pleasure of meeting.
He had said he was going to meet you at the restaurant, so you got yourself ready so that you could be there a bit early. You didn't want to come across as too eager, but being early never hurt anyone.
Thankfully, the restaurant was a short walk from your apartment, so you set off in the mild Monaco sunset. When you arrived and walked into the restaurant, you scanned the room, but there was no sign of Arthur anywhere.
You walked up to the front of house, ready to ask for the table since you assumed he wasn't there yet. "Hi, how can I help you?" the kind faced lady at the desk asked with a smile.
"I've got a reservation for two, I'm pretty sure it should be under Leclerc?" you asked, remembering that Arthur had told you about the reservations. "I think someone is already here, follow me," she said, walking out through the restaurant and taking you to one of the tables near the back.
Then you spotted Arthur, sweetly smiling at you as you approached. His eyes were glued to you through your every move, not able to get over how stunning you looked. He scrambled to stand and greet you as the waitress walked away.
"Hey, wow, you look absolutely incredible," he complimented, pulling you in for a hug and kissing your cheeks.
"Thank you very much," you blushed, never getting used to him complimenting you. "How are you?" you asked as he pulled your chair out for you - just like a true gentleman. "I'm great thanks, you?" He countered, pushing your chair in before sitting back down on his own. "Yeah, good thanks," you nodded, picking up the menu.
Both of you ordered what you wanted, and you were glad to be able to talk to him. "What have you been up to today?" you asked, gazing at him from across the table. "All of my family came over, like my Mom and my brothers, so it was pretty hectic," he smiled, his dimples becoming more prominent.
"Any special occasion?" you asked, knowing that the whole of his family was often very busy within the world of motorsports. "It's actually my birthday today," He sheepishly said, emitting the detail that he'd rescheduled family dinner to come out with you.
"Arthur! You should've told me, we could've done something more special," you playfully scolded with feigned anger.
"Being with you is special enough for me," he quietly muttered, so quiet, in fact, that you barely heard it. You weren't even sure if you were meant to hear it, so you smiled warmly at him.
From across the table, Arthur took your hand and held it in his, your fingers slotting together like pieces of a puzzle. "Happy birthday, Arthur," you said as his thumb mindlessly ran up and down your skin. "Thank you, Y/N," he responded.
A few moments later, an idea popped into your head. "Excuse me for a second, I've got to use the bathroom," you said, standing and walking in the direction of the bathroom. When you were certain that Arthur couldn't see you, you slipped off to the front of house.
"Excuse me, it's my friend's birthday today, and I was wondering if we could do something for it?" you asked, approaching the desk, "I know I should have given notice, but I only just found out it's his birthday, sorry," you rushed, not wanting them to feel pressured.
"Of course we can, you're with the young man in the corner, yes?" she confirmed, and you were excited to see what they had up their sleeve.
"Yes, thank you so much!" you thanked, walking back the way you came to avoid suspicion from Arthur. "Ah you're back, I was starting to think you'd ran away from me," He joked, glad to have you back.
He had dated a fair few girls recently, but none of them could bring him the same sense of calm and contention like you could. It was like a strange feeling of familiarity, even if he hadn't known you long.
"I couldn't run from you, especially on your birthday," you lightly chuckled, taking his hand back in yours from across the table.
The two of you finished your main courses, and your plates were cleared away. You kept on looking over his shoulder to spot if they were coming, but you were trying to not make it look obvious.
Arthur just assumed you'd seen a famous person - you were in Monaco after all. "Look, I know tonight is far from over, but I was just wondering if-" He started, but was interrupted by you starting to sing happy birthday as one of the waitresses appeared in front of you with a cake.
There was a sparkler, spitting sparks of light up in little shoots of orange. Of course, there were the usual candles, their crimson flames dancing in the still air of the restaurant. A few people around you joined in as you sang, the cake being placed in front of Arthur.
His face was lit up, but you couldn't tell if it was the candles or the pure joy in his near Cheshire cat grin. He couldn't help but stare at you through the flames, wondering how he manged to be on a date with someone so thoughtful.
As the song came to a close, you told him, "Make a wish! But don't tell me, or else it won't come true,". Arthur didn't even have to think twice about what his wish was going to be, and he blew out the candles as people around cheered for him.
The other diners in the restaurant resumed the normal operations of the night, and the smile on his face was priceless. Every ounce of joy he had in his body was being put on full display for you to see. "I'll say it now, I don't know what kind of cake this is, so I'm sorry if you don't like it," you nervously chuckled, not having thought that through before.
"It could be my least favourite in the world and I am still going to eat it since you went through the effort to get it for me," he said, not really caring how cliche it sounded as the words left his mouth. "Would you like a slice?" He asked, picking the candles and sparklers out of the sponge.
"Yes please," you chirped, passing him your plate, "But birthday boy gets the first slice, I don't make the rules," you laughed, holding your arms up defensively.
"You're right, but, I think the birthday boy has the complete authority to overturn that rule when there is a beautiful lady in front of him who deserves the cake more," he said, plating up a slice for you and passing it over to you.
"Unfortunately, I can't argue with the birthday boy, so I will just have to deal with the burden of having the first slice," you laughed with feigned hurt, waiting for him to get his slice before starting yours. "And, luckily for you, chocolate just so happens to be my favourite," he said, swallowing his mouthful of pillowy chocolate sponge.
"I didn't get a choice, so I'm glad you like it," you told him. It was the thought that counted, but there was just a certain feeling that getting your favourite cake on your birthday provoked.
"Thank you for this, I really appreciate it," he said, unable to quash the tingling feeling that spread across his chest, and the butterflies that fluttered around in his stomach. He felt this way on your first date, but the intensity increased every time he saw you.
You collared the waiter over to pay the bill, fully prepared to pay for dinner as the present you weren't able to give him since you had only just found out that it was his birthday. "Oh, no, allow me," he dismissed the unspoken offer, gently pushing your hand away from the card reader.
"It's your birthday, the least I can do is get you dinner," you told him, going for the machine again. "And because it's my birthday, I want to treat you," he said, quickly tapping it on the reader with a beep.
"Next time, it's on me," you told him, with a stern yet playful tone to your voice. You had said that after your first date, and your second, but he clearly wasn't one for listening to your instruction.
You stayed for a short while after, discussing what you were getting up to the next day, and when you were both free. "After you," he said, opening the door for you as you walked out into the Monaco night.
"Thank you for dinner tonight, I've had a wonderful time," you smiled, standing beside him under the moonlight. "It's my pleasure, I've had a brilliant time too," he told you, watching as your eyes glinted in the luminance of the moon.
It was almost as if all of a sudden, h was bombarded with these overwhelming feelings of love and wonder. He just wanted you.
"Can- Can I?" He asked, leaning in so close that you could feel his breath on your face. His heart was pounding out of his chest so hard you could practically hear it. "Yeah," you nodded, closing the small gap between you.
Your lips came together, and you could still taste the the decadent chocolate on his tongue. Reluctantly, he pulled himself away and gazed into your eyes. "My wish came true," he grinned, hoping his other wishes with you would come true.
A/N - I was writing Charles' birthday thing last night, but then I quickly realised that it was Arthur's birthday today, so I quickly whipped this up. Sorry if it not great... Requests are open as always! Love you 💖

it's been seven minutes (since i lost the girl of my dreams)
| leah williamson x reader | angst | a/n: got this idea earlier today but didn't get the chance to write till now (aka 3:30 am). inspired by 7 minutes by dean lewis (shocker)
~~~
It’s been ten months of you both dating before your world comes crashing down. You would've never predicted that a singular text would be the beginning of the end.
Driving to your girlfriend's house at nine pm on a Wednesday night was not in your plans for that day, but you didn't mind- you never minded when it came to Leah, you'd do anything for her.
You could've never predicted the eight words that suckered punched you in the chest soon after your arrival. Upon entering, you'd noticed the awkward tension in the foyer as you were greeted in, the always-confident blonde wringing her hands as she ushered you in, deftly avoiding giving you a greeting kiss. It was only as she brought you to the island, took a handful of deep breaths and started speaking did it all sink in. Unsuccessful in your attempt to swallow the lump in your throat, you felt the blood rush in your ears as the defender spoke, not meeting your eyes.
"I don’t think we were meant for forever"
It's been seven minutes since all your hopes and dreams for the future came tumbling down, ablaze, unable to be saved. Seven minutes since your tears started to silently fall, any attempt to wipe them futile as you tried to ignore Leah's sympathetic look.
Since then you'd been driving around aimlessly for the better part of six minutes- blurred vision, no idea where you were going, no care where you ended up, just as long as you were away from the blonde- far away from the one who just ripped your heart out of your chest and let it fall unceremoniously on the ground, ready to be stomped on.
Five days is how long it took before you even remotely start to feel human again. You’d been through heartbreaks before, of relationships that were much longer, but somehow nothing had ever hurt this bad, this much. None of them had meant anything remotely close to this. You'd finally thought you'd found the one- finally convinced that love did exist, only to be proven wrong, your innocent assumption blowing up in your face.
For you she was forever. You’d come to that conclusion a few months ago, when she had joined you as you sat on the grass, head tossed back, your music playing softly as you let the weight of life crash down upon you. You'd let yourself break in front of her, trusting that she'd catch you, and she did. She caught you, held on tight, picked you up, that is, until she let you fall the remaining way, all by yourself.
It had you silently wondering if she'd ever meant those three words when she'd whisper them to you late in the night. If her promise of I love you ever meant anything to her. Had the words always been as empty as what you felt now?
Two weeks pass before you see her again, your heart clenching in agony as you see her smiling shyly at her phone, a red hue coating her cheeks as one paints your vision. That used to be you, and now it wasn't, and you'd be lying if you said that your heart wasn't wrenching in pain, chest constricting so tight you feared you'd forget how to breathe. So caught up in your love, you'd never stepped back to see if it was reciprocated, and you couldn't help but feel like an idiot now.
It's why one month later you’re signing your papers for your transfer, the new year the perfect time for a new you, a fresh start.
If love wasn't meant for you, then so be it. If it's what the universe had planned for you, then you weren't going to let someone break your heart again. It's why zero was the number of times you'd let yourself love again, heart locked away for good, walls up higher than anyone could ever climb.
it's safe to say no one knew about you and chris.
not even that you guys were ever together. not even that you had to suffer watching him with a new girl. showing her off like he never did with you. making you wonder if you were the problem.
his friends knew about her. his family knew about her. hell, even his fans did.
which made you wonder if you truly ever meant anything to him. spending hours on the phone with your best friend analyzing every little thing and what you could've been.
unfortunately for you, you still had to see him. seeming as you were still very close to his brothers. nick even knew about your little situation and truly felt for you. it pained him to see how much you loved his idiot of a brother.
after months, when you finally decided to move on from him and go out with other men, the universe did not have your back. drunk chris calling you?? someone had to be kidding you.
"i miss you." ,"please come back to me. ", "baby, she look like a star but only on camera." ,"it look like we're in love, but only on camera."
"can you believe his audacity?" you said to your best friend as you replayed the voicemail to her ,licking the spoon of ice cream you were holding. "no honestly, who does he think he is" "no literally calling me baby too??? like bro where your girl at"
well your question was quickly answered the next time you hung out with nick "THANK GOD they broke up, she was unberableeeee y/n save us. all chris does nowadays is talk about how much he misses having you around." he said. "i do miss him nick but i can't bear to be that girl anymore, running after him like a lost puppy!"
when you'd come over, he'd race everyone on the way to open the door ,like a dog waiting for his owner. too bad for him, he only got the dryest "hi chris" in return!
it's safe to say chris was suffering without you. hating to see you so happy since you stopped talking to him. it was truly selfish of him but he couldn't help it. sabotaging your dates wasn't even an option for him anymore. he was royally screwed.
he'd have to fight hard to win you over again.
"so let me get this straight, you were with y/n?" matt said trying to wrap his head around it. chris nodded in confirmation. "and you were hiding it from all of us?" ,chris nodded again. "and now you broke up with elle cause you want her back? even though, you called the whole thing off in the first place to be with elle?" ,chris sighed and leaned his face in his hands "yeah." he said quitely. matt laughed at his younger brother and put a hand on his shoulder "good luck buddy" he said as he resumed playing his game.
next time chris saw you was at a friend's birthday party. walking down the stairs in your little black dress and kitten heels, looking as beautiful as ever and having everyone in the room take a second glance at you. you were truly glowing and making his heart ache from how beautiful you looked.
all he could do was look at you for the rest of the night and watch you turn down every boy that approached you. till you decided you had enough and went upstairs to hide. he found that as an opportunity and followed you up. he knocked on every door ,interrupting make outs and seeing stuff he tried to forget until he found you sitting on a well-made bed on your own.
"oh my god chris you scared the shit out of me" you said holding your chest. "sorry, i didn't mean to. i just wanted to talk to you if that's okay." he said as he tried to put on his cutest face that you could never resist. "sure." you finally replied as you sat up straighter to be the same height as him and look him in the eye.
"i just wanted to apologise for everything. i know, i was in the wrong. but i can't seriously live without you. you're like my best friend and my soulmate all in one. i was so stupid to let you go. i realized that so late, when you started going out with other men and when elle broke up with me cause i said your name in bed. my thoughts are utterly and completely consumed by you. i love you." he said in one breath and you were seriously smiling like an idiot by the time he was done. "what did you say chris?" you said as you smirked teasingly "i love-" you cut him off by leaning and pushing your lips onto his soft ones, you felt his hands slowly creep onto your waist, literally your weakness!!!! you pushed him off of you before it got too heated "i love you too dumbass"
Sender: "Deku" Izuku Midoriya - Deku Hero Agency
Addressed to: "Kaze" Y/n L/n - Kaze Hero Agency
You have received a box of chocolates and a letter. The envelope is signed by Izuku Midoriya and wax stamped in the shape of a heart. Open?
Tumblr media
Dear y/n,
It's been a while, hasn't it? How are you? I hope this letter doesn't inconvenience you in any way. It's Valentine's Day and all and I guess I found today as an excuse to write to you. You'd probably find it weird if I sent you a letter any other day, right? You know, since I could've texted or emailed you. But then again, you'd probably be too busy to be checking your phone. Haha...Anyways, there's no way for me to beat around the bush, so I'll say it bluntly.
I love you.
I love you and everything about you. The reasons are countless. I love everything and anything about you. I want you. I need you. I've been in denial about my feelings for you up until now. Whether to blame for selfish reasons or wanting to avoid it. I just hope it's not too late to reach you. I know it's been years since we've really hung out together. We only get to see each other once in a while at hero gatherings and other work-related events. I look forward to getting a chance to talk to you every time those events come up. I know our conversations there only last a few minutes, but I cherish them. Listening to you go on about how you're feeling, how your days have been, and what you'd like to do if you ever get a day off. Those aren't things I get to hear every day. I like listening to your voice, listening to you talk about anything. So much so, that sometimes your voice replays in my head without thought. I guess it's like a reminder of how much I miss you, and how much I'd like to spend time with you. Or maybe how much I want you in my life. Do you remember this one thing you told me you wanted? The wish you told me not to laugh at the hero gala? That one day you wish to get married to a wonderful man and have beautiful children and live happily together. I didn't think it was silly at all. In fact, I wanted to tell you that maybe I could grant you that wish, but I didn't want to make you uncomfortable or anything. But just to let you know...the thought is still valid.
I wonder if you'll even have time to read through all this, haha. I took this day off just for the sole purpose to write a letter to you. Pathetic, huh. The number one hero in love. I wasn't sure how to start it off. I didn't know if I should be poetic, formal, or informal. I may not be a poet, but for you, I could try to be. Ahem. Love is the promulgation of promises of eternal passion I hold in await for you. The breathlessness when I lay eyes on you. The warmth I feel from your smile; to which rivals the sun. Feeling so light, like a cloud drifting through a sunny morning. Pfft. Sounds pretty corny actually. Moving on.
I'm happy that you're doing well as a hero. I've seen you on T.V. with your powerful speeches and promises to the citizens. I love that confidence you hold in yourself. I find it attractive, dare I say alluring. I love that pretty smile you always have on your face. It's contagious. I'm even smiling right now at the thought of you. Even my heart is racing. Maybe it's the excitement I have writing to you. Or perhaps it's the anxiousness that you might overlook this letter and never speak to me again. I'm not expecting anything in return from this. I just wanted to tell you how I feel about you, or else I'd live with this guilty weight of love on my shoulders. How you feel about me is something that I'll accept nonetheless. Love me. Hate me. I'll take even no response at all. I know it's a lot to take in since I haven't been too obvious about my feelings. I don't mean to pressure you or anything. You probably get fan mail like this every day, confessing their love. Of course, a lovely lady hero like you. So, again, don't feel like you have to say anything in return. I wish you love and light and wish you all the best. I hope this wasn't a bad time. Happy Valentine's Day, dearest y/n.
Yours Truly, Izuku Midoriya ♡
P.S. I hope you like the chocolates! I didn't know which flavor you'd like the most, so I got you the sample box :))
Tumblr media
You clutch the letter in your hands in ecstasy. Your heart is pounding in excitement. You're feeling affectionate. Send a response letter?
support me? :)
What surprises me is how many black swifties I've seen (men and women). I wonder why they would be a fan of someone like Taylor.
answered under the cut: (this is also the second to last ask abt swifties that i'll do)
Sorry this took me ten bajillion years to get back to you. I finished the rest of the semester and then got sick but this ask never left my mind. Also, sorry for the spelling or grammatical errors. I'm still sick and too lazy to edit rn and wrote this in one go.
Black Swifties piss me OFF for so many reasons. and it has to do with the fact that they're black and Taylor isn't.
Going off of Taylor's music and music alone, the reason I CANNOT get into her music whatsoever is because of her. A majority of her songs are inspired by her heartbreak from previous relationships. She draws upon this pain in a self exploitative manner and uses this raw, confessional voice that so many people find comfort in. FINE.
But I can't Taylor seriously when she sings about feeling undesirable, or broken, or insecure, or anything to do with her relationships. She doesn't write music for me, meaning: how the fuck does she really know about being undesirable, or worthless, or unloveable.
Taylor Swift literally could've been a model: she's tall with a willowy build reminisicent of supermodels; she has blue eyes and blonde hair. What does SHE really know about being unloveable, undesirable, invisible and always the last choice?
I'm a black girl. I know what it's like to be ugly, in a raw, real, true undesirable way. I know what its like to never be good enough. To be invisible to someone I like: its all I EVER knew growing up. What does she know, growing up resolved to the fact that confessing is pointless because I'd never be desirable, anyways?
Taylor Swift's music came off as so...distasteful to me because of it. Because not only is she desirable because of the simple fact that she's a white woman, but because she's THE white woman: blonde, tall, fit, with blue eyes that every Y/N in every Wattpad story you've ever read has. She's THE standard for being an attractive woman.
But in the same breathe, I guess that's why her fans of color find solace in her. Because even the most objectively desirable woman feels this way too, right? But she's been in relationships. She's been kissed, she's had sex, she's always had a point, in sometime or someplace or somewhere, even it was brief, that she was desirable and loveable to someone. I can't or many other Black girls can say the same. I know too many that have never been in relationships, who've never been kissed, who've never had someone express desire in them. So many Black girls and women only know pain.
I don't think Taylor could ever capture the pain of that heartbreak. Of knowing that no matter what you could do, no matter how beautiful you've made yourself to be, you'd still never be desirable. That before you were even a possibility that could be born, you were and will die being viewed as Ugly. You never could and never will be enough.
So back to Black Swifties: I don't understand how any Black people, because of the reasons stated above, support this woman. I cannot find any place in my heart to go ahead and express sympathy, or feel empathy, towards this woman who's greatest pain will be the rejection from someone who at least, for the briefest moment, could say that they loved her. At least someone found her attractive enough to date. Attractive enough to be desired. I can't say that. So many Black people, Black WOMEN, cannot say this.
It feels wrong and feels fucking stupid to feel bad for a woman like her. She's a white woman and seen as beautiful because of it; the whole world will pity her for her heartbreak. The only reason they don't is because of what she's done as a person. Not because of how undesirable she is for who she was born as. They will never blame her undesirability for who she was born as.
SO I think Black Swifties look stupid as fuck crying and defending this woman. You are a Black person calling this white woman with blonde hair and blue eyes a 'queen.' Do you not see how BAD how this looks for a Black person? To openly worship a white woman, one with BLONDE HAIR and BLUE EYES? And then they get upset when other Black people state openly that they do not trust them! Because I don't either.
I'm not gonna sit here and feel bad because she's heartbroken. I'm not going to coddle her or cheer her on. I don't care. Swifties only prove my point that everyone will come to her beck and call to comfort her. Because she's a white woman and she will always be the perfect victim because of it. She is the last person who deserves to be comforted by me.
There are so many people who will never be seen as the victim. There are so many people born as aggressors of crimes they will never commit. There are people whose existence threatens the existence of an unjust state. There are so many people who will live and die without a single person to cry for them, to care for them. So it seems fucking stupid to be another person to care about this woman that millions of others will tend to. Especially as a Black person pouring emotional care into a white woman who will never, ever do the same. To a white person who will never, ever give a single fuck about you.
And none of this is taking into account how racist Taylor Swift is either. Like that's the worst part about this: is that this is just from the optics and her music.
So yeah. I think Black Swifties are fucking stupid. Especially those who continue to support her after she dated that bigot who jerked off to Black women being sexually torture. She dated a guy who got off to that and she KNEW he got off to that. So I view Black Swifties as [redacted redacted redacted] and have no self respect, so I'm not going to respect them either.
I fucking hate Black and POC Swifties. Learn to love yourself bc when you do, you WILL stop stanning that woman.
The end. of answering this ask LOL
PS I made an anti taylor swift blog. it's @notyouraryang0dd3ss and you can follow me there instead
Request: can you write a Miguel x Spider person reader where the reader has been in the spider society for a while but in their universe they were marred to Miguel but their Miguel from their universe died?? But due to an anomaly Spider readers Miguel comes back to life and the reader kills him because it’s needed to fix the cannon?
when I read this, my first reaction was literally "good lord" because WOW😭 I tweaked it a teeny bit so that readers miguel gets killed instead of reader killing him. (I can't write about killing someone I'm so sorry 😭) also the science in this doesn't really make sense but 🤷‍♀️
miguel o'hara x reader
Tumblr media
To any outsider, it probably seemed as though you took a masochistic delight out of all of this. Like you enjoyed torturing yourself in this way; being constantly reminded of what you lost so long ago and having to scratch open that wound every single day, not giving yourself the chance to heal.
And in some way, it probably was, but you found enough comfort in reminding yourself that what you saw now was not what you lost. When you looked at Miguel, you didn't see your Miguel. He wasn't the Miguel you met all those years ago, the Miguel who was so sweet and caring and who you couldn't help but fall in love with. The Miguel you eventually married, and later had to watch die.
Remembering that was what helped you to detach from him, what stopped your emotions from ever getting the best of you and doing something that would just cause more heartbreak on your end.
This being said, it wasn't always easy. There were days you'd look at Miguel and imagine what your life would've been like with your Miguel, how things would've played out if he hadn't been taken away from you so suddenly and cruelly. But you'd only shake your head and scold yourself. He was dead, he didn't have to die again, and he wouldn't be coming back.
Until he did.
˚。⋆.˳⁺⁎˚
"You're asking me to watch him die again? To let him die again?" you asked as you stared at Miguel. He was as stoic as ever, not letting an inkling of emotion show. You sometimes wondered if he even had any emotions left, any humanity. "Yes," he said, "you of all people should know, this is necessary for the—"
"Canon, yeah I know." he didn't look too happy about you interrupting him. "But surely this is different, Miguel," you tried, "this anomaly is working with time travel, something we haven't really dealt with, maybe—"
"No, I'm not taking that risk, I'm not," he said, turning his back to you, a way of telling you that the conversation was over. You weren't done though. "Please, Miguel, this could change everything. You of all people should know—"
"Don't go there, Y/N," he turned around, stopping you before you had the chance. You knew it was a low blow, but you also knew you were right. He knew what it felt like, he'd try to get his family back and failed, and now because he failed, he wouldn't give you that chance.
He tursaw the way your eyes brimmed with tears, too angry and stubborn to let them fall. I sighed, pinching his nose between his thumb and pointer finger. "What I did back then was wrong, irresponsible and dangerous," he started in a low voice. "Our first priority is catching the anomaly, and once we do, the timeline resets and we still end up here, and your husband will still be dead."
That was the first time you heard him actually talk about what happened, explicitly say it. It sounded so foreign coming from his mouth.
"Miguel, please..."
"No." this time he turned his back and the conversation was finally over.
˚。⋆.˳⁺⁎˚
You thought you've known the worst pain in watching your husband die, but nothing compared to having to watch him die again, knowing that you could've prevented it this time but not being able to do anything.
For the first time ever it seemed to really kick in; your Miguel was really dead, and nothing you did would ever be able to bring him back to you.
a/n: this is so short but I might come back to it again I'm so busy w school rn 😵‍💫
I have thought about Ub and how to me their little found family sometimes is so overbearing and forced, and I wonder if that's on purpose, if the Chamber or Rebecca wants to shove the detective into that role so quickly to make them feel connected to Ub so they feel attached to the Agency sooner
Maybe Ub isn't even aware of this but i think would be so juicy if some were like A or N lol 🫣
Also what's everyone's thoughts on Unit Victor? I played M route and they were so nosy to my mc like hello who starts a conversation with someone asking about their sex life and their partner's like that 🤨
ooooh interesting take on ub LMAO i personally think that the moments that are good are really good – but to be honest i do agree a LITTLE bit (don't stake me people hear me out) also tbh m*shka has said that the agency is good, so i'm not sure how much of that bleeds into the chamber – you might be onto something but who knows!
i wish that some of the "found family" moments were a bit more organic than what we get – breakfast, meetings, mc in bed with injuries and ub checking on them, ub accompanying mc to work – it gets a little repetitive after a while! to be fair, i think that part of this comes from the setting being a small town lmao
i know it's hard to cultivate a found family dynamic that fits every person's vision, but at the same time idk! i feel like there could've been more happening that made the group feel like a group.
i say this because, as someone who's paid for her patreon before, there's this one particular special called "a new start" that's about ub soon after f joined them – and it's one of my favorite things mis/hka has ever written, and i think about it frequently because it's what i want her ub dynamic writing to be like
also unit victor was so unnecessary LMAO they just brought them in so they could sprinkle in the alina backstory – if you've paid for her patreon and read through her extra writings, you'd know why alina is significant, and tbh unit victor serves only that purpose imo. it would've been SUCH a good opportunity to flesh out unit alpha, especially because ub + mc fail quite a few times during book 3, and bringing in their biggest competition would've added such a flavorful subplot
Don't know if we can already send in asks for it but how did Sunshine song's puppy's first meeting with them go?? Was she scared?
A/N: Of course you can!
----
You know what's about to happen. You know how to behave, what to prepare for, and het, you're nervous and more than just uncomfortable. The room is unfamiliar, bright, several of their staff members already present and talking to one another. You're sitting on a chair, waiting, unsure how your life is gonna change from now on. Gone are the casual days at the care center, the basic routine you've come to grow familiar with. Will you have to clean a lot? Do chores? Maybe they won't even like you?
A man walks in first, definitely the man who'd chosen you at the care center a few days ago. He seems friendly and nice, if a bit on the heavier side. "There she is! Now, remember, don't overwhelm her too much, we don't want to scare her." he says, several people entering after him.
It's them.
They all have different reactions to the sight of you; while one of them greets you with a happy smile and a wave of his hand, sunshine smile grinning at you, there's one that doesn't seem to allowed you at all, cat-like eyes not sparing you one look. The others seem to be unsure what to do; and you can only imagine how awkward this must be for them.
"is this really necessary PD-nim?" The man with the feline eyes asks rather grimly, and the rest of his group seem equally torn on what to do now. One of them curiously walka over to you, moving into a squatting position to get a better look at you.
"Hi." he says, voice deep, and you panic a little, looking around for staff to confirm you're allowed to talk to him. "hey, no, here." he softly says, tapping your knee to get your attention back. "it's scary, hm?" he wonders, and you nod a little, unable to look at him.
"your ears are really pretty." another one says, voice way higher and facial features softer. "I know this must be super intimidating, but I promise we're gonna try and take the best care of you from now on." he tells you, and you nod, though unsure.
You remember how Yoongi took the longest to warm uo to you; main reason his distaste at the lack of rights you had, and the demeaning way the world handled your kind. You remember how he'd apologized one night when he found you sat in front of the windows in the living room, watching the skyline of the city because you couldn't fall asleep. "I'm sorry." he'd told you, before sitting down close to you. "I hope you don't feel forced to act a certain way or pretend to like us. I can't imagine.."
"no!" you'd said, turned towards him with ears drooping down. "I really do like it here. It's.. The best place I could've ever ended up in." you'd admitted after living with them for almost a year. "I do like all of you. I promise."
And you remember how he'd been the first one to let you sleep in his bed with him, holding you close during the night for comfort.
It had broken a wall between everyone and you it had seemed; your confession quickly spreading around between the boys, making all of them happy and relieved. They'd all felt a bit bad thinking about the fact that you never had a choice- but they were now filled with joy at the fact that you genuinely liked them and their presence.
That you were happy with them.
You'd become more clingy after that- and they happily brought you along any schedule they could from then on, never leaving you alone for long. You'd become a part of their lives;
A part they never wanted to give away ever again.
Isle Connections Ch5 Similar Situations
(Warnings: Toxic family and relationships mentioned in this chapter. Reader also gets pushed down and has a twisted ankle.
 This will also expand over a course of some time. I'm going off the info provided by Avery's league cards added below:
Avery comes from a long-standing family of psychics. Each of has been from the same bloodline as Avery, and thus, Avery has been destined to bear the burden of Gym Leader since even before he was born. Ever since he was a child, Avery could freely move things with his mind but lacked other skills, such as teleportation or telepathy . This has caused the rest of his family to label him as a disappointment. Avery has a great deal of respect for Slowpoke, as they go about their business at their own pace, no matter what others say.
Avery has always been very proud and would levitate any opponent who dared defeat him. This behavior caused his status as a Gym Trainer to be revoked. During this time of despair and desperation, his Slowpoke found a flyer for the Master Dojo, leading to Avery's current circumstances. Avery caused friction with many of the other students initially, but the kindness of Honey and Mustard slowly helped him to mellow out and become more friendly. Recently he has been training hard with his now-evolved Slowbro to prove himself better than a certain new student at the dojo.)
You had thought long and hard about what Ms. Honey had said to you. Eventually Gloria and Hop arrived back while you were thinking and you were concerned when you saw how dirtied up and tired they were.
"What happened to you guys?! You look like you rolled down a dirt hill!"
"Well we found a giant vespiquin nest and accidentally fell inside it's den bit don't worry! We're alright!," Hop held up his hands seeing your shocked face and held up a plastic see through bag full of pink honeycomb and globs of sticky honey. "And we found the max honey! I'm gonna split it with Glory and take some back to Sonia with the max mushrooms too! I'm sure she'd love to study it!"
"C'mon! Let's go show Master Mustard!"
In the end they ended up dragging them with you inside and up to Mustard who look pleasantly surprised that they had succeeded in their little quest.
"Welcome back my wondering wooloo," he greeted you all with a smile. "Oh. And what is that sweet scent I detect wafting through the air around you?"
"Ha! That'd be the max honey! We got our hands on a nice haul of it!," Hop said proudly showing off the bag.
Mustard smiled wider. "Really? Already?"
"You out me and Gloria on the case. There's nothing we can't do when together!" Gloria nodded proudly making Mustard chuckle.
"Haha! You did a mighty fine job finding it with only a hint from me. Nicely done both of you!"
"You didn't forget what that certain something was for a second did you?"
"Who? Little old me?" He chuckled making both Hop and Gloria look at him deadpanned before he waved them both off. "But enough of me. You two did well so Gloria can have a break from training for the rest of the day. Get some dinner and clean yourselves up. There'll be plenty of more training tomorrow."
He left then going through the doors back into his own home. You supposed you could've just asked him where Avery was then but...you were still unsure about what to do about this at all. You'd have to think more about this more before you decided what to do next-
"I'm gonna take that leap in my training."
You were snapped out of your thoughts by Gloria's voice as Hop looked at her. "What, Mate?"
She inhaled before steeling her gaze. "He said when ah was ready with Kubfu ta see him about the next step in mah trainin'! She held a fist. "I've been training for months now n' I know we're ready! First thing tomorrow, M' gonna take that leap!"
Hop immediately smiled at her. "Alright, Glory! With all the work you've done you'll do amazing!"
"You'll be great," you agreed, "....I'll be taking my own leap tomorrow too."
Both looked at you. "Whatcha mean Y/n?"
"Don't worry about it. It's just something I need to take care of."
That night you all cleaned up and slept. Or as best you could. You felt very anxious and nervous about everything that'll happen tomorrow but you thought long and hard and decided to take Honey's advice. You were going to talk to Avery. It'd be best for everyone involved if you apologized to him and smoothed everything out. So tomorrow you'd ask Mustard where you could find him. Early the next morning you woke up bright and early and caught up to Gloria and Hop on their way towards Mustard's  office but not before you insisted on them getting something to eat so they wouldn't be hungry later today. Mustard was already ready for her watching everyone else training.
"Ah. Good morning, Gloria!," he greeted with his usual bright smile. "Are you ready for today's training? I think I have a student that'll go extra hard on you today!"
Gloria shook her head with a determined face. "Not today." He hummed curious. "Ye said ta come to you when I thought kubfu n' I was ready ta take on the next step o' my trainin'! We'll I'm ready now and I'm here to make that leap!"
He hummed again carefully looking over her then at kubfu. "Well it seems you both have grown more confident! But are you sure you're ready for this? There's no shame if you'd like to train up a little more first."
Gloria shook her no. "Nay! I know we're ready! Please lemme try."
Again he smiled and carefully looked them over for a moment... before smiling wider. "Very well. I daresay I think you're both ready!" Gloria lit up happily as he nodded his head towards the door. "Follow me you two."
"Wait." He paused to look at you. You hesitated before stuttering out. "I-I wanted to ask you something important-"
"I'm afraid that will have to wait after I get Gloria on her way but follow me and I'll get right to you. Come along." He smiled knowingly. "I think I can help you along the way as well."
He turned away and continued walking out of the dojo. You three looked at one another.. before Gloria started following him and you two started walking after her. You three all followed Mustard outside of the dojo and followed him towards the Forest of Focus. You all followed him through the woods slowly step after step until you all came out into a clearing. A similar clearing to the one you found Avery in. Again the anxiety bubbled up as you silently just followed him until he stepped halfway in the middle of the clearing and turned back to Gloria smiling looking around a little bit before nodding and speaking.
"Phew. Guess this is as a good spot as any," he spoke looking at Gloria. "Now then. If you want to get stronger there are special training grounds just for kubfu. Prepare yourselves for the Towers of Two Fists! The blue tower is the Tower of Water!" He pointed towards the left. "Located that way. And the red tower is the Tower of Darkness." He then pointed to the right. "Located that way. Chose wisely since you'll only be able to climb one of the towers. Kubfus fighting style will change depending on the tower you chose and the types it'll get will change as well. This will be the next step in your training."
Gloria blinked wide eyed before looking to the left and then slowly looked to the right. "I can only choose one huh? What's so special 'bout the towers?"
"Each tower's five stories tall and each floor has a tough opponent waiting for you. I chose eight of my toughest senior students for this so it'll challenge you for sure. Im really looking forward to seeing you two make it to the top of one of those towers. It's going to be exciting. So...which one will it be?"
Gloria fell silent looking blank for a moment again looking both ways carefully for a long time silently. Calculating and thinking hard about this. After a long moment she finally spoke. "Well...Mr brother's already trainin' ta be the next water type gym leader." She looked towards the right before pointing with a firm look. "So ah pick the Tower of Darkness!"
Mustard nodded. "Wonderful choice. I look forward to seeing you there!"
"I'm coming too," Hop piped up. "I can't wait to see her in action." He paused as Mustard shook his head.
"No. This is something Gloria must do herself. She can't have any help from anyone else or else she fails."
"Oh...Can I at least go with her then?"
Mustard hummed... before nodding. "You may be allowed to accompany her to the tower but you're not allowed inside. Alright?"
Hop nodded sighing. "Yeah. I guess that's fair." He still smiled before turning to Gloria. "I bet I can still beat her to the tower though."
"Oh you're on!"
Hop laughed before shooting off running away from you all towards the right with Gloria smiling and quickly running after him with Kubfu close behind at her legs. You watched them laughing and run off through the clearing and into the woods until you couldn't hear or see them anymore. You were glad they were happy at least. Gloria would do great. You believed I'm her.
"Now." You jumped whirling back to the old smiling back. "You wanted to ask me something?"
You blinked before shaking your head. "Uh..Y-Yeah." you cleared your throat and looked away to avoid eye contact which made him raise an eyebrow. "I-..Um-...I-I was wondering if you could tell m-me where Avery is. I-....I need to talk to him about something important."
There was silence as he just looked at you silently knowingly. Before smiling wider. "Nope! I have no idea where he is!"
"What?!"
"Little old me forgot sadly." Your face dropped- "But I do know he likes to take his rapidash on walks through the berry grove allegedly. You might want to try your luck there. Whoops! I just remembered that I have somewhere to be!" He just casually stepped aside and started walking off in a random direction. "Good luck with your own mission. Im looking forward to seeing your own progress."
You shook your head and turned..but paused when you realized he was already gone. There wasn't a trace of him anywhere. For a little old man he sure moved fast. Your head silently looked back to the left. ...The berry grove huh? You knew where that was. Slowly you started walking that way Silver walking behind you as you made your way back through the Forest of Focus. The greenery making the forest beautiful but you didn't focus on that. Only pushing through to where your destination was...And you knew you were in the right place as the trees started getting smaller and smaller and their branches were full of berries. You stopped in the middle of the grove looking around..but there wasn't any sign of Avery much to your disappointment. Where could that guy be?! Mr. Mustard said he'd be here. Silver didn't pay any attention too busy distracted by the plump berries hanging on the trees before looking over and seeing the smallest tree. His appetite enticed him to walk over towards it and the plump ripe pecha berries handing from its lowest branches. He kicked his lips looking back at the branches and stared at them from the base of the tree contemplating on how to get them. That's when a hand shot out of the bush next to him and snatched him up!! Silver's loud startled cry made you jump and whirl around wide eyed before you froze.
"SILVER!!"
"I FINALLY GOT ONE!!," A man in a dojo uniform shouted proudly holding up Silver by the jacket he wore. "A CAUGHT A SHINY!!"
Silver kicked out and struggled in the man's drip chirping in both anger and panic looking at you for help. "SILVER!" The man jolted as you yelled making him look at you wide eyed. "THAT'S MY DRIZZLIE!! PUT HIM DOWN!"
The man blinked. "Your drizzlie?" His eyes narrowed. "How do I know you're telling the truth and not just trying to take my shiny from me?"
"Why the heck would a wild shiny wear a jacket?!" The man blinked...and just dumbly looked back to the small jacket Silver always wore. "Look! Silver is mine so just put him down!"
He didn't. "Tell you what. How about we trade for it?"
"Silver is a HE not an it! And no way!! I'm not going to just trade him off to a random stranger!"You stomped up to him. "Now give him back!"
"No way!" He held Silver higher as the drizzlie continued kicking and struggling. He scowled at you. "I've been looking for a shiny since I got here and I'm not giving up the first one I see! Just get another one!"
"NO!! GIVE HIM BACK!!" You lunged at him but he was bigger and taller than you, able to push you back easily with another arm as Silver cried out from his hand. "GIVE ME BACK MY POKEMON!!"
"GET OFF ME!" A hand shoved you hard pushing you back and making you trip to land on your side in the grass.
As soon as you hit the dirt a blue aura surrounded the man. He gave a noise of confusion before he yelped out as he was suddenly levitated into the air. He floated high above you before given a hard shake. Silver dropped from his hand with a loud noise and landed on the ground next to you. Immediately you grabbed him and bear hugged the Pokemon to your chest staring up confused at the floating man. What the heck was-
"How rude." You both looked over. "Now that's no way for a man to treat a lady. Hadn't your parents taught you any manners?"
Your eyes widened. "AVERY!"
Said blonde man stood there one glowing hand held up levitating the man a frown on his face. Behind him was a rapidash looking annoyed too. "Now do us both a favor and leave my sight."
With a snap the man was dropped harshly with a thud. Panicked, the other man immediately stood up and ran from the scowling psychic. You sat up onto your knees slowly watching as he left .. before sighing and pulling Silver closer to you.
"Are you alright?"
You looked up at Avery staring at you with an unreadable expression. Blinking you nodded. "Uh. Yeah. I'm ok."
He nodded. "That's all that matters. Good day to you." He turned to walk away.
"HEY!! WAIT!!" You shot up to your feet quickly and lunged at him to latch onto his elbow which startled him into jumping and blinking at your face. "Don't go! I've been looking for you everywhere!"
Avery stared stunned at you jaw dropped and sputtering looking between you and where you held his arm. "I-...Y-You what?!"
"I came to apologize!," you blurted out before he could do anything else, and he was again shocked into silence. "I was a huge jerk and I shouldn't have shoved you or yelled at you or called you names! That was absolutely wrong of me and I'm really sorry for everything!" There was still stunned silence as Avery continued to stare at you before you sighed and released his arm letting your arm drop back to hold Silver better. "I don't expect you to accept my apology because honestly you don't have to but I just wanted to say sorry."
Avery still stared at you for a long, long... LONG silent moment as you figured nervously under his gaze. Eventually he slowly sighed before nodding. "Very well then. Miss Y/n, I accept your apology." Your face perked up as Avery pressed a hand to his own chest. "But let me give my own apologies to you for that unruly and brutish sight you had caught me in. I am . utterly ashamed of my past behaviors and..You were absolutely right." His eyes glanced to the side. "That was completely wrong of me. When the Master found out what I did..Well let's just saw my punishment was extended for two more months and I had to apologize to everyone."
Your eyes widened. You.. Weren't expecting Avery to be so calm or take this so well. "It's..Ok. But still..I went too far when I brought your gym leader status into it. I uh..Kinda heard what happened."
He huffed giving a small sad smile. "Yes. Well it's not exactly a secret about what I've done. I have no one to blame but myself for my behavior but I am striving to do better! Don't think I've given up on gaining my gym leader status back in order yet!" He finally smiled brightly making you feel relieved. "But.. Um. Exact h-how much did you hear about me?"
"Oh. Just that you kinda got in trouble with the league and you came here to train." You hesitated for a moment. "Um...Also that your family..is a bunch of jerks too."
He looked surprised for a split second before again smiling sadly. "Jerks..Well that's certainly one way to describe them I would use much harder names that I wouldn't repeat in front of a lady."
You blinked surprised. "That bad huh?"
"Oh, you don't know the half of it my dear lady." He crossed his arms with a sigh, looking off somewhere. "My family...is very hard for me to get along with. We don't exactly see eye to eye on a lot of subjects. Most of them are..very cruel in fact."
Your face softened as you looked back to him. "Yeah. I know how that feels. My parents are really terrible people too." Surprised he glanced back at your saddened look. "My mom is really... REALLY hard on me."
His brows rose higher after that still in a bit of shock and curiosity now. "Hard on you? ...What had she done?"
"Ooh Hoho! Where do I even start?" You strained an unhappy smile and gestured at nothing. "She was always difficult to deal with but it wasn't always on such a bad level. She...never did a whole lot but things weren't bad until my parents divorced when I was around eleven or twelve. That's when things were hard." You didn't see the way Avery's eyes widened behind those glasses but didn't comment as you angrily ranted. "It's hard to explain. But it's like as soon as he left a switch flipped. Everything was wrong. Anything fun was wrong. Anything liked was wrong." ..You shrugged. "But then again thing's weren't easy once Dad left. Everything was more expensive now. M-Mom had to work a w-whole lot to support us. But she took it way too far! Everything was 'too expensive' now." You made air qoutes with your hands. "She had me start working right away to help pay bills."
"When you were just eleven or twelve!?"
You nodded. "Looots of babysitting and walking dogs- Uh..pokemon and mowing lawns and tutoring and shoveling driveways to help pay the bills. And that was in between the chores and constant studying she'd had me do! And Dad was no help considering he just ghosted us after that! UGH!!" Your hands were thrown up in the air as you wished you could punch a pillow. Making Silver squeal out in your grip. "..Sorry, Sil. It was like I was in a box! I'm so glad I finally left. We uh...Don't talk to each other anymore. She was just a narcissist now that I think about it. It was always 'Her', 'her', 'her' and never once about ME except when it was something I could do for HER! Or something I did 'wrong' or how I should date her nice wealthy friend's son- UGH!!" Your face fell into your hands. "It was just a nightmare."
Avery only stared at you as you ended your rant hugging Silver close to you. He contemplated something in his mind, hesitated, before he spoke up. "My..parents view me as a disappointment." You paused.. before snapping at him wide eyed but he was only staring off at nothing.
"What?! Why would they do that? Sure you might've gotten a bit..off the path as a gym leader but you're doing so much better now. You even got stronger-"
"No. No. It's not about the league-..I mean it IS about the league too but it's not fully that." He attempted to explain to you before he just sighed and let his arms drop. "My..family lineage is made up of many psychics like myself. Only.. they're not like myself. Not at all. All of my family can use teleportation or telepathy or more common a combination of both. I however..can N-Not use either of those gifts."
"You... can't?"
He shook his head. A hand reached up to twirl around one of the pokeballs making it bob around his fingers. "The only thing I'm able to do is levitate objects. Which is why I was labeled a...d-disappointment."
"What? How could they say that?" He looked surprised when you reached out and grabbed his shoulder. "That's still a really special gift. I don't know anyone else that can levitate things! Your powers are still rare and really cool! Look at how they helped me! You're not a disappointment. Avery, you're a hero."
He blinked wide eyed at you for a moment before smiling with a huff. "I did save the day didn't I? Yes! Avery old boy, you still got it!" He paused feeling the sudden force of more weight being pushed onto his and looked at your hand, then at your wobbling form, and then down to your legs. Your left leg lifted up off the ground. He pointed at it. "I dare say, what's wrong with your leg?"
"Oh. I twisted my ankle when that guy pushed me."
He looked concerned. "Does it hurt?"
"A bit. It's gonna be hard to get back."
"By yourself? And leave a damsel in distress alone?" Avery shook his head before grabbing your arm. "Oh no. I can not in good conscience leave you to hop back to the dojo and risk hurting yourself further. I'll simply lead you back on my elegant rapidash."
"Your rapidash?" You blinked looking behind him and back to the unicorn pokemon who still stared at you. Oh. You almost forgot about him. "Oh. ... He's very beautiful." The rapidash tossed his head back, head up high, proud of your compliment. "Are you sure he'd be alright with it? I wouldn't want to make him uncomfortable."
"Such a caring mindset, but I'm sure Rapidash wouldn't mind as long as you don't try pulling his mane. He hates that."
"Don't worry. I won't."
You were expecting that Avery would help you move to get on the rapidash, but you weren't expecting him to suddenly scoop you up bridal style making you squeak and him chuckle as a pink spread across your face. He walked you over to the rapidash that knelt down to allow his trainer to gently set you on his back and stood back up.
"Don't worry, My Lady. We'll walk slowly so you won't fall off. Just hang on. And don't worry. If you fall, I'll catch you again in my arms." You went a deeper pink and he chuckled again.
Hanging onto the rapidash, Avery slowly lead him back to the dojo where everyone stopped and stared as Avery lead the horse pokemon right into the dojo and straight to a worried Ms. Honey. When you both explained the situation she looked both worried and angry at the person who did this. Avery helped you down off the rapidash and you were quickly rushed away by Ms. Honey to be treated. Thankfully it wasn't anything serious and you'd be better soon. Hop and Gloria had also returned a little while after. Like you suspected, she not only passed her next step in training but also managed to evolve her kubfu into an ursifu! You were so happy for her! In Mustard's own words-
"Impressive. Very impressive indeed! I knew I could put my trust in you. Gloria, you've done well to train Kubfu up to that level of strength. You're the first one to pass this trial. Leon was my best student and he too tried this task..but he never completed it. He kept getting lost along the way. No matter how old I get, seeing someone grow brings my heart joy. However there's still one last part of your training you must pass. The ultimate hurdle. The toughest opponent on the Isle will challenge you soon, so you must continue your training and train yourself hard in order to have a chance to beat him. Are you willing to put in that much more work?"
Gloria agreed without hesitation. "Ya got it! I'll train harder than ever n' take him head on!"
"Haha! That's what I love to hear. I will contact him when I think you're ready. In the meantime rest up for the day. You deserve it."
From that day onwards Gloria continued training harder. Often battling Hop even to help get stronger. The two of them also managed to find that guy all his digletts earning her a few last Alola Region pokemon. Your ankle got better fast too. You and Hop continued to help Gloria with her share of chores and you kept a watchful eye on the both of them like you promised Leon. Avery seemed to be better now that you both talked things out. In fact he felt so much better that he approached you one day surprising you. You were both outside watching as Hop was coaching Gloria through a series of push ups when he walked up to you.
"Miss Y/n. Do you perhaps have a moment to spare?"
"Uh. Sure. What's up, Avery?"
He smiled. "Well it accured to me after speaking with Gloria that you don't have any pokemon other than your shiny there."
"Silver Veil. And yeah. I never really got any others. Why?"
"I just so happen to have an extra ponyta that I have no use for." He held up a pokeball to you. "And I don't trust Anyone else here to care for her the same way you care about your drizzlie- Uh. Mr. Silver Veil."
You stared at him in awe before he nudged his hand forward allowing you to slowly take it from him. ... before smiling. "Avery. This is so nice of you." You smiled widely happy at him. "Thank you."
He lit up a pink before clearing his throat and smiling. "But of course. I always-"
Sitting On The Shelf - Marcus White x Reader
Part 16.b - Oh, Simple Thing
SOTS Masterlist
"What's going on between you and Marcus?"
The question alone made you freeze up entirely. Not only were you unsure of what was going on between you and Marcus, it was Jonah you were speaking too. Jonah who had had a crush on you yet still cared just a fiercely for you after you turned him down.
It didn't feel fair to talk to him about stuff like this, especially when it could've been him you felt this way about.
"I don't know what you mean." You weakly tried to refute, as though you'd be able to convince Jonah in the slightest when he had his mind set on something. Idea, conspiracy or task, if Jonah was determined to get to the bottom on it, he would.
"Don't give me that, peach." Jonah replied, pulling you closer to him by your linked arms so that you couldn't just escape his questioning gaze. "I saw that whole little thing back there."
"Seriously, I don't know what you're on about." You rebuked, face becoming redder and redder the more Jonah asked you about the nature of you and Marcus's relationship.
Sure you had something going on - you'd shared many a moment too close for friends: you'd nearly kissed when he dropped you back home after you'd waited all night in the ER for him, he'd come to look after you when you were sick, he brought you flowers and just before he had pretty much stated that he was 'working on' making the two of you a couple. But the mind can quickly wonder, and with any more then a seconds reflection on those moments they all seem as though he's just being friendly, trying to keep the peace.
"That whole, 'ooo come and sit with me handsome Marcus, I love your nickname for me and your handsome face. Aren't these puppies so cute? Not as cute as you!' thing." Jonah mimicked in a high pitched voice, as though he had been trying to replicate the conversation he had witnessed earlier.
Bursting out into a fit of laughter, you leaned heavily on Jonah to continue standing. "That was the worst impression I've ever heard."
"Yeah well, that's what you sounded like." The two of you laughed with each other, still finding humour despite the originally awkward tension of the conversation.
"Besides," You continued now the shared laughter had died down between the two of you. "It was a movie reference not a nickname."
"And you're not going to comment on the other stuff I said?" Jonah teased, your face becoming red once more as you realised that you'd failed to dispute any of the 'handsome' comments about Marcus. Sure, you found him good looking, but that didn't have to mean you had a crush on him or anything.
"Well- I- no." You stumbled through the words, sighing defeatedly as Jonah laughed at your struggle.
"Seems like you have got yourself a little crush there, peach." Jonah accused, poking you teasingly in the side as you walked further away from the store and towards the movie theatre where Jonah had convinced you to come and see something with him.
"What are we watching by the way, I didn't catch the title before when you asked."
"Oh, don't try and change the topic y/n." Jonah chastised, shaking his head gently from side to side as you looking up at him with a downwards smile. Why was it so hard to talk about how you felt to him?
Taking in a deep breath, you decided it would be okay to at least try and talk to Jonah - he had asked, it wasn't as though you were just dropping it on him. "Marcus, he- I- I don't know J."
"Well, do you like him?" He asked, running his thumb along the knuckles of your joined hands.
"Yeah. I do. I really do." You answered, looking down at your feet as you walked, avoiding Jonah's eye contact. "There's just something about him y'know. He's definitely a bit odd, but it's endearing... kind of."
"Hmm, and it seems pretty clear to me that he likes you too." Jonah probed, trying to judge your reaction to his outsider opinion. Though you found it hard to believe that Marcus would return your feelings, whatever they were, you couldn't find any reason that Jonah would lie to you about something so substantial; you highly doubted he would mention something he didn't think was entirely true. "He likes you, you like him. Date. It's that simple."
It was never that simple. You would never tell Marcus of your feelings just in case he didn't reciprocate them - you'd rather have him as a friend then not at all. Sometimes you wished you had Jonah's almost stupid, blind bravery; maybe that way you'd actually get stuff done, get things moving with Marcus.
"You've got all the wisdom of a coffee pot, J."
"Is that an insult or- you know what? I'm taking it as a compliment." Jonah's self confidence made you let out another laugh, something you couldn't seem to stop doing today.
"It's an insult." You deadpan, eliciting a loud gasp from Jonah as he gently pushed you away from him, a feigned hurtful expression crossing his face.
"No I think you meant I'm well mirthed and loved by all." Jonah teased slipping his arm out of your own, and replacing it by intertwining your fingers as he pulled you into the movie theatre.
As he approached the concession stand, buying the tickets and an armful of snacks for you to share, you dwelled on Jonah's words. It could be that simple, if you wanted it to be, but god knows you'd never do anything that could potentially compromise your friendship.
If keeping him as a friend meant you got to keep him at all, then friends is what you would be.
