Muai thai fighter Sukuna who only cares about winning, even if he has to be the biggest asshole in the world, ignoring anything other than the next fight.
Muai thai fighter Sukuna who runs away from interviews like the plague, flinching in his chair as he hears the usual inane questions. His manager, a man blessed by heaven to be able to put up with the fighter's persistently optimistic mood, tries to keep his composure, but every dry, monosyllabic answer from Sukuna makes the sweat drip down his temple.
“Sukuna, how are you preparing for the fight against the Thai champion?”
“Training”
“Any new strategies?”
“Fighting”
Muai thai fighter Sukuna, who was forced to be there against his will, stands up abruptly. The photographers are startled by the movement. The businessman tries to reach him, desperate.
"Sukuna! No! Only ten minutes to go!"
But it's no use. The champion is already leaving, with heavy, irritated steps, while the security guards try to clear the way. He ignores shouts, cameras, microphones and questions. And off he goes, towards the underground parking lot
Muai thai fighter Sukuna who is itching to get in and disappear in his matte black sports car.
He gets into the vehicle, starts the engine with a furious roar and begins to maneuver without paying much attention.
That's when you appear.
You, completely distracted, holding your cell phone and a shopping bag that almost falls to the ground.
The roar of the engine makes you look back, but it's too late.
Muai thai fighter Sukuna, driving like an impatient ogre, almost runs you over.
“ARE YOU CRAZY, YOU SON OF A BITCH?!” you shout, slamming your palm down hard on the car window. “WHAT KIND OF IDIOT RUNS OUT OF THE PARKING LOT LIKE THAT?!”
You're furious. Your blood is boiling. Without even thinking about it, you're already hitting the bodywork harder.
"GET OUT OF THAT FUCKING CAR NOW! YOU IGNORANT"
The window starts to roll down. You're still huffing and puffing, indignant and ready to curse, until you see... him.
Muai thai fighter Sukuna, who is enchanted by your courage and audacity, appears like a huge shadow inside the car. His red eyes stare into yours as if studying you. The crooked smile at the corner of his mouth reveals that he is not in the least annoyed. On the contrary... he seems to be enjoying himself.
“Are you always like this?” he asks, getting out of the car with an annoying calmness and a body that makes the ground seem smaller.
Muai thai fighter Sukuna who exudes imposing bearing, stretches himself to the maximum as he gets out of the car. His muscles bulge out from under his tight T-shirt, the tattoos decorating his arms like a dangerous map. You take two steps back, still holding the shopping bag as if it were a weapon.
"I-I... look, I'm sorry, okay? I... I thought you were some rich slacker"
“Technically, I am,” he replies, running his tongue over his teeth, approaching as if he were in a ring. “But your reaction... It was interesting”
Now that the initial shock has worn off, you realize who this is. Your eyes widen, the name slips out of your mouth like a secret:
"Ryomen Sukuna? The muai thai world champion?"
He shrugs.
"It depends. If I tell you no, will you keep shouting at me?"
You let out a nervous laugh, putting your hand to your forehead.
“Oh my God... I almost insulted you”
“Almost? You did” He smiles wider.
You try to apologize in every way, stumbling over your words, mixing up “I'm sorry”, “I really am sorry”, and “I didn't mean to”. But he raises a hand, cutting your apology in half.
Muai thai fighter Sukuna, who doesn't care about flattery or apologies, looks at you with a sharp look and says:
"Do you really want to apologize? Then give me your number."
You freeze.
“What?”
"That's it. Give me your number. I won't insist, but it would be a shame to let this story end in the parking lot."
You stare at him for a moment. He's not joking. And honestly? Maybe you're not either.
You take out your cell phone, type in your number and hand it over. He types something into his cell phone, and soon after, you receive a message:
Unknown number: "If I win the next fight, you owe me a coffee. If I lose... too. ;) - Sukuna."
Muai thai fighter Sukuna who gives you one last look before heading back to his car. Leaving you standing there, staring at your cell phone screen and trying to understand what the hell just happened.
Muai thai fighter Sukuna who never gets distracted by anything outside the ring, didn't expect to fall in love with a woman he almost ran over in the parking lot. In front of the strong-tempered woman, drinking a coffee that he certainly won't let her pay for.
Muai thai fighter Sukuna who, a few months later, is standing in the room he himself prepared with red petals scattered everywhere, lit candles emitting his favorite scent, the one you once mentioned casually one afternoon and he memorized as if it were the next technique that would save his life in the ring.
You open the front door thinking you're just going to find Sukuna grumpy and sweaty after training. But when you step inside, everything changes. The light is low, the sweet, familiar smell envelops you, and there, in the center of it all, is him, that man no one dares to contradict, holding a discreet ring in his calloused hand, as if it were made of glass.
"I almost ran you over," he begins, with that crooked, insolent smile, "and ever since then, I've never wanted you to get out of my way. Would you like to be my girlfriend?"
Muai thai fighter Sukuna, who used to be cold, rough and averse to any sentimentality, now wants to hide you from the press because you're his little, and not at all defenseless, girlfriend. The woman who shouted at him without fear and who now sleeps on his chest every night. And he keeps it as a precious secret. For months, no one knows he's with someone. You live behind the scenes, away from the spotlight, safe and loved.
When you ask, he replies with the same expression as always:
"Next question."
Muai thai fighter Sukuna who marries you a year later. It was a simple, private ceremony, with no paparazzi or magazine covers. The only flashes were from close friends and family. But there was too much sincerity in that exchange of vows. He wore a suit, his hair neatly combed, and a look that seemed ready to cry, even if he would never admit it.
"I'm yours. Forever. Even when I'm far away. Even when my fists are closed. Even when life wants to beat me down... you'll be the only thing that keeps me standing."
You cried. He held your hand tightly. And when you were pronounced husband and wife, the world stopped for a few seconds.
Muai thai fighter Sukuna who has a dry, impersonal Instagram, with only training videos, photos with medals and short phrases like “ready” or “focus”. But one day, he surprised all of his almost six million followers with something no one expected.
One photo. No caption. Three hands.
His, scarred, rough, with knuckles hardened from so many punches.
Yours, soft, smooth, resting on top of his.
And between them, a chubby, innocent little hand, grasping Sukuna's finger as if it already knew it was safe there.
The comments explode.
“Is he a FATHER?” “Is this photo real???” “STOP THE WORLD I NEED INFORMATION” “Someone warn me that Sukuna has become a dilf”
Muai thai fighter Sukuna, who doesn't give interviews about his personal life, remains silent. He deactivates the comments hours later. He leaves the image there, alone, saying everything he will never put into words.
Muai thai fighter Sukuna, who could never have imagined that his life would change completely in four years, now wakes up at dawn to hold a baby on his lap. He sings, walks down the dark corridor with slow, careful steps, and holds the child like he holds his own heart in his hands.
He finds himself looking at you, sleeping exhausted after another difficult night, and feels his chest tighten with love.
"Thank you," he whispers softly, so no one can hear.
Muai thai fighter Sukuna, who used to think only of winning, now measures victories in quiet cries, small laughs and kisses on the top of your head.
He is still the champion. He is still feared. He still fights like a demon when he's in the octagon.
But at home, he's just the man who can't stop thanking you.
For you. For the baby. For the life he never planned to have, but which has turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to him.

Tell Me No Lies

law x fem!reader
you’re a psychologist who can spot any lie and that makes law keep his distance, afraid you’ll see how he truly feels. but when a mission forces you to pose as his lover, the lines between act and reality blur fast.
a/n: this was a request but since it's really long I summarized it
words count: 3.9k
tags: slow burn, mutual pining, undercover couple, spicy but not smut, fluff, tension, crewmates being chaotic
masterlist || ao3 || ko-fi
“You want me to do what?”
Your voice slices through the meeting room of the Polar Tang like a dagger, sharp, pointed, and just a little amused.
Penguin holds up his hands, grinning like he’s already imagined you and Law making out in a booth “Not my idea! Bepo came up with it.”
Bepo, ever innocent, blinks “It’s logical. Varrick lies constantly. You can tell when people lie. Captain’s the one meeting him. It’s simple.”
You stare “You want us to act like a couple.”
“Just for the night!” Shachi chimes in from where he’s stuffing chips in his mouth “The place is a casino-slash-brothel. No one goes in there looking like a business partner. You show up all cold and stiff, he’ll know something’s up.”
Law hasn’t said a word.
He sits at the head of the table, arms folded, expression blank. But you know that face. He’s thinking. Calculating. Fighting something.
Then, flatly “Fine.”
You blink “Fine?”
“You’ll have to stay close,” Law adds, eyes flicking to yours “I can’t talk in code around Varrick, and I doubt we’ll get a second chance if he feels like we’re onto him.”
“So, what, I sit on your lap and play with your hair while you ask about Navy routes?” you ask, raising an eyebrow.
Penguin snorts soda through his nose.
Law doesn’t miss a beat “If it gets us the truth.”
You swallow hard. Because that should not have sounded that smooth.
Later, in your room, you stand in front of the mirror, pulling on the final piece of your dress, a deep red number that hugs your waist and legs and dips dangerously low down your back. You smooth it down, checking the slit up your thigh, the way the silk shimmers under the ship lights.
“You don’t have to look like a goddess,” you mutter to your reflection “You just need to catch a liar.”
But damn it, the dress works. And the second you step into the hallway, you hear Shachi’s voice echo from down the corridor “Caaaptaaaain!”
You freeze.
“Don’t be mad when she looks hotter than you, bro!” Penguin adds, loud enough that it bounces off the steel walls.
“Stop yelling” Law says from somewhere out of sight. His voice is tense.
You round the corner and stop dead.
Oh no.
Law... Law is in a black suit, crisp and clean, no tie, the top buttons of his shirt undone. His hair’s slicked back just enough to make your throat go dry. Tattoos peek out at the edge of his collar. He’s leaning against the wall, looking at his den-den mushi, but when he looks up and sees you his fingers still. His eyes trail down, slow. Too slow.
You hear Shachi whisper “damn” under his breath and fist bump Penguin like they just won a bet.
Law clears his throat “You’re… ready.”
You tilt your head, smirking “You look nice too. Didn’t know you owned a suit.”
“It was a gift” he mutters.
You take a step forward “From who? Someone who wanted to see you flustered?”
His jaw ticks “I’m not flustered.”
You do notice the slight red creeping up the back of his neck. Just a little. Enough.
Before either of you can pretend to be normal, the rest of the crew crowds the hallway behind you.
Bepo holds up a little camera “Say cheese.”
“We’re not taking pictures” Law snaps.
“Oh come on,” Penguin grins “Look at you two!”
“You’re never letting this go, are you?” you ask, eyes narrowing.
“Nope.”
Shachi elbows Bepo “Ten bucks says they come back married.”
Bepo nods solemnly “I’ll take that bet.”
Law groans and starts walking past them, ignoring the chaos.
You trail after him, heels clicking on the metal. As you pass the guys, you whisper, “Try not to blow our cover.”
Penguin winks “Go get that intel... and maybe some action.”
You don’t answer but your cheeks are hotter than they should be.
And the second Law opens the hatch to the upper deck, the cold sea air hits you and so does the reality of the night ahead.
The casino is loud. Velvet-lined walls drown out the outside world, while gold lights glint off dice and crystal glasses. Somewhere near the back, a piano plays slow jazz. It’s all soft temptation and sharpened edges.
You walk in beside Law, his arm around your waist. His fingers rest against the small of your back like they belong there, not too tight, not too loose. Just… there.
You can feel the heat of his palm through the silk of your dress. You can feel everything.
Stay focused.
Varrick is waiting in a private corner booth, exactly where intel said he’d be. He’s slouched in the plush seat like he owns the place, surrounded by too many drinks and not enough class. Rings clink against his glass as he lifts it.
“Trafalgar Law!” he says, standing with a grin too wide to be real “Wasn’t expecting you to bring arm candy.”
Law’s arm tightens around you. Not protectively. Possessively.
“She’s more than that,” he says, calm as ever “But she doesn’t like to talk much.”
You smile politely at Varrick, then glance at Law from the corner of your eye.
Smart. That gives you the freedom to observe.
You slide into the booth beside Law, close, but with just enough space between you to keep your focus.
Varrick leans forward “So, you wanted info on that Navy ship?”
Law nods “I heard it was seen heading east out of Ivona Port last week.”
Varrick shrugs, swirling his drink lazily “Could be. Could be west. Hard to say.”
You place your hand lightly on Law’s thigh. Barely a touch. Just enough.
Lie.
Law’s eyes don’t move. His posture doesn’t change. But his fingers tap against the glass in front of him once, acknowledging you.
Varrick chuckles “You know, these Navy guys come and go. They don’t tell me everything.”
Your fingers slide up, brushing over the inside of Law’s wrist as you reach for your own drink.
Another lie.
Law hums “Then tell me what you do know.”
“I know they’re not looking for pirates right now,” Varrick says “Some big job further north. Something to do with weapons.”
Your nails gently press into the back of Law’s hand, slow and deliberate.
Lie.
You feel him tense slightly. Like he’s thinking.
“Do you want something in return for this info?” Law asks coolly.
Varrick grins “Only a little favor later. Nothing serious.”
Even now he's lying.
This time you run your fingers slowly down Law’s forearm, letting your touch linger like a lover’s caress. But it’s all code. All signal.
Law shifts beside you. To anyone watching, it just looks like he’s turning toward you, lips brushing close to your ear.
“You’re sure?” he murmurs.
You nod “Three lies so far.”
“Mm.”
Varrick raises a brow “You two are cute, y’know that? Real cozy. If I didn’t know better, I’d say you’re actually into each other.”
Law leans in, his lips grazing the edge of your cheek as he speaks “We are.”
Your heart skips.
You almost miss the way Varrick’s mouth twitches at that. A little wrinkle in the corner of his eyes. Something flickers. Jealousy?
“Lucky guy then...” Varrick mutters.
Law’s arm moves from your waist to your lower back, pulling you closer. Not fake this time. Not calculated. His hand is warm, firm, fingers curling possessively.
You’re practically in his lap now.
You keep your eyes on Varrick “So what’s the Navy doing near Blue Rock Island?”
He flinches.
Small. Quick. But you see it.
You drag your hand up Law’s chest like you’re playing with his shirt but your fingers dig in slightly at his collarbone.
That’s the truth. That’s the target.
Law tilts his head slightly, voice low and smooth “Blue Rock, huh?”
Varrick blinks, caught off guard.
You glance at Law just for a second and see it.
His eyes are calm. But his pulse at his neck is faster now. You shouldn’t be this close. He shouldn’t be looking at you like that. You’re supposed to be watching the informant, but now you’re catching the way Law’s lips part ever so slightly when you shift in his lap. The way his breath hitches.
He’s too good at hiding. You never have a baseline for him and suddenly, you realize you do now. You’ve been close enough tonight to read him. Feel him.
So when his ears turn red the moment Varrick leaves the table you finally know what his tell is.
“You’re enjoying this” Law mutters as Varrick disappears into the crowd.
You swirl the last sip of wine in your glass “Enjoying not getting stabbed in a double-cross? Sure.”
“That’s not what I meant.”
You turn your head slowly toward him, lashes low, a smirk threatening at the corner of your mouth “No? Then clarify, Captain.”
His jaw clenches.
You lean in “Or are you upset I figured out your tell?”
Silence.
Got him.
He doesn’t move. Doesn’t look at you. Just sips from his glass like he’s trying not to set it down too hard. You watch his throat bob, slow and tight. He’s flustered. Controlled but clearly struggling to keep that control.
Which is dangerous and tempting.
You reach out, brush something “imaginary” from his collar, letting your fingers drag across the base of his throat. He stiffens just slightly, and you swear under that cool expression, his eyes darken.
“I’m not ready to leave” you say casually, turning away to scan the floor “We did the job. Got the truth. Maybe we deserve a little fun.”
Law doesn’t argue. That alone is suspicious.
So you both stay. You drink. You people-watch. You flirt, just enough to be part of the act. And he plays along, letting his hand rest low on your back, murmuring sarcastic commentary about the drunk nobles and sleazy gamblers, voice low and rough in your ear.
But then Varrick returns.
You’re seated now in a more open lounge, a couch near the roulette tables. Varrick walks up with a drink and a too-easy smile.
“Forgot one little detail,” he says, tone casual “Seems like the Navy isn’t after pirates right now because they’re meeting with one. Some kind of alliance. Dunno who.”
Lie.
You shift against Law and drag your fingers along his inner thigh, too slow to be innocent.
Varrick talks more, and you let your hands wander. One arm over Law’s shoulder, the other toying with the fabric of his jacket. A fingertip gliding along the inked edge of his collarbone. Every time Varrick lies, you punish Law with a new touch.
You want to see how much he can take.
When you trail your hand up to the side of his neck and run your thumb along his jaw, you feel it. That little twitch. A shiver. His hand slides up your waist and grips tight, like a warning.
You lean in, lips brushing his ear.
“He’s lying again.”
Your voice is barely above a breath.
“And you’re pushing it” Law growls, so low only you can hear.
But you just smile and press a kiss to his cheek, slow and lingering “Don’t lose your composure, Captain. Someone might think you’re affected.”
Varrick finally gets bored and excuses himself, clearly thinking he’s dropped enough bait.
The second he’s out of sight, Law stands.
“You come with me. Now.”
You blink “Excuse me?”
He doesn’t even look back. Just starts walking toward the upstairs hall of the casino. Like he already knows you’ll follow.
Which… you do.
Up the stairs, past the velvet curtain, through the dim corridor lined with private doors. He finds an empty suite with a key card left in the slot—probably reserved for VIPs or those with a winning streak.
He opens it.
You step inside, the door clicking shut behind you.
And then he pins you to the wall. Hands at your side, like blocking you. Eyes burning.
“You’re playing a dangerous game,” he says, voice rough “Do you even know what you’re doing?”
You pretend to think “Touching my captain in public? Flirting with a man who’s obviously holding back? Yeah. I know exactly what I’m doing.”
His gaze flickers from your lips to your eyes and back again. His breath is hot against your face.
“Tell me if you want to stop.”
You grab his lapel and pull him down.
“I’ll tell you if you lie.”
For a few long seconds, Law doesn’t move.
His fingers flex on your hips, like he’s debating whether to pull you in or push you away. His eyes are on yours, unreadable to anyone else but you can see it now. The cracks in that cold, calculated shell. The tension. The restraint.
You’ve spent months trying to get a baseline on him. To decode his behavior. Now? You are the baseline.
And he’s struggling.
“I should let you go” he mutters, voice low, more to himself than to you.
“But you won’t” you whisper back.
His eyes drop to your lips “No.”
He steps closer. Your back is fully against the wall now, your breath tangled with his. You tilt your chin up, almost daring him.
“What’s holding you back?” you ask.
His mouth twitches “You.”
A beat.
Then “You’re too good at reading people.”
You grin “So are you.”
His hand slips to the back of your thigh, just under the slit of your dress. Not high, but enough to make your pulse skip “You’ve been testing me all night.”
“Guilty.”
“You think it’s funny watching me lose control?”
“I think it’s hot.”
That does it.
He lets out a quiet, sharp breath, like he’s just given up fighting gravity, and leans in until your foreheads are pressed together. His hand stays on your thigh. His other lands on the wall beside your head.
You whisper, “You’re not usually like this.”
“No,” he says “You bring it out.”
You stay like that for a moment, so close, heat radiating between you, neither of you quite touching where it counts. The tension is unbearable in the best way. It’s not just attraction. It’s months of silence, near-misses, unsaid things finally rising to the surface.
Law is still Law, he's collected and composed, but now you know what it costs him. You feel the restraint humming under his skin like electricity.
You reach up and slide your fingers into the hair at the nape of his neck. He shivers.
“Stay” he says. It’s not a command. It’s almost… a request.
You nod, slow “I’m not going anywhere.”
He finally steps back, not far, just enough to breathe, and moves to the bed. Sits on the edge, running a hand over his face like he’s trying to reset.
You take the moment to look around. The room is warm-toned, elegant. One massive bed in the center. Silk sheets. Balcony window cracked open to let in the sound of crashing waves and soft jazz from below.
You sit beside him, gently bumping his shoulder “So. What now?”
Law doesn’t look at you “Now, we sleep.”
You raise an eyebrow “You’re going to act like none of that happened?”
“I didn’t say that” he replies, voice quiet.
He leans back, hands braced behind him, eyes finally meeting yours “I’m saying we don’t have to rush it.”
Your heart stutters.
He adds, almost awkwardly, “This isn’t just the mission. Not for me.”
You don’t tease him this time. Instead, you smile, warm and soft.
“Not for me either.”
He pulls off his jacket, tosses it over the chair. Starts unbuttoning his cuffs. You stand and go to the bathroom to remove your heels and freshen up, giving him space, and maybe yourself a moment to breathe.
When you come back, Law’s already under the covers, shirt slightly open, tattooed chest half-visible in the low light. He’s facing the wall.
But when you slip in beside him, he immediately turns over and pulls you in, an arm draped over your waist, forehead pressing into your shoulder like it’s the most natural thing in the world.
The room is quiet now.
The casino noise is a distant hum through the balcony window, soft music, muffled laughter, the whirl of spinning wheels and shuffled cards. But inside, it’s just the sound of two hearts beating faster than they should.
You’re lying on your side, Law behind you, one arm slung around your waist like it belongs there. His hand rests just beneath your ribs, warm and heavy. Not demanding. Just… steady.
The silence stretches. Not awkward, but charged. Comfortable, yet not quite safe.
Your voice cuts through it, soft and curious.
“If we’re just gonna sleep… then why here? Why not go back to the ship?”
You feel him pause behind you. Not tense but thoughtful.
He exhales through his nose “Because.”
“Because?”
His voice drops, rough like he hasn’t decided if he wants to answer honestly “Because if I took you back to the ship, I wouldn’t be able to do this.”
He shifts slowly and pulls you in tighter, chest pressed to your back now. His nose brushes your neck, and his breath sends a shiver down your spine.
You barely manage a whisper “This?”
He hums “Stay close. Let myself… feel something.”
You blink. That wasn’t what you expected.
He continues, quietly “On the ship, I’m your captain. In control. Always thinking. Always five steps ahead.”
You glance over your shoulder, catching the faintest edge of vulnerability in his eyes.
“And here?” you ask.
“Here,” he says, “I get to be a man lying next to someone who makes him forget all of that.”
You don’t answer for a moment.
Then, deliberately, you reach back and trail your fingers down his forearm, slow and gentle.
“Good,” you whisper “Because I like this version of you.”
You feel his smile against your skin.
He doesn’t say anything else. Just tucks his face into your neck like he’s finally allowing himself to breathe.
You shift slightly.
Not much. Just enough to test the space between you.
He doesn’t stop you.
So you turn.
You roll slowly to face him, your knees brushing his under the covers, your chest barely touching his. The low golden light from the hallway filters in through the crack under the door, just enough to catch the edge of his face, his jaw, his eyes, that small crease between his brows.
He’s watching you. Carefully. Quietly.
You speak, low and honest “You’re not the only one who forgets how to breathe around the other.”
His expression flickers. Just a second. But enough for you to see hope, doubt, desire. Then gone again.
You lift your hand to his cheek, gentle.
Then he kisses you.
Hard.
There’s nothing hesitant in it. No more caution, no more reading cues, no more pretend. Just heat, and months of tension finally snapping. His hand slides to the back of your neck, pulling you in deeper.
You kiss him back with everything you’ve been holding in.
Your hands move instinctively, one gripping his shirt, the other slipping around his waist. He shifts, pressing you into the mattress, his knee between yours, his breath shaky against your lips.
When he finally pulls back, just an inch, his forehead rests against yours. Both of you breathing like you’ve just surfaced from underwater.
You whisper, “That didn’t feel like something we’ll forget in the morning.”
Law shakes his head slightly, lips brushing yours.
“It’s not.”
Another beat.
Then you add, teasing, “So much for just sleeping.”
His mouth curves into a tired smile, eyes half-lidded “You started it.”
You laugh soft and warm and tangled in sheets and tension.
And when he pulls you close again, one hand splayed across your lower back, your smile fades into something quieter. Something real.
Because this time, neither of you is pretending.
The next morning, the sun isn’t even fully up when you and Law leave the casino.
No one says anything at first. You walk side by side, close enough that your arms keep brushing, but not close enough to make it obvious.
At least, that’s what you tell yourself.
But the second the Polar Tang comes into view, the nerves hit you like a cannonball.
You’re holding your heels in one hand, the other arm looped awkwardly around your waist to keep Law’s massive coat closed over your dress. Your own shoes were giving you blisters, so somewhere between the casino lobby and the harbor, Law, annoyed and muttering, slipped out of his and made you wear them.
Now here you are, flopping around the deck in his too-big shoes while he walks beside you in his socks, lipstick faintly smudged across the corner of his jaw.
You don’t look at each other. You cannot look at each other.
And then just as your foot slips slightly in one of his clunky boots “Well, well, well… Look who finally decided to come back.”
Shachi.
Leaning on the railing with a bowl of cereal and way too much smugness for six in the morning.
You freeze.
Penguin appears from the stairwell, blinking at you both. His gaze travels from your tousled hair to your crooked dress zipper, to Law’s missing shoes, to your very obvious lipstick on his jaw.
He lets out a slow, exaggerated whistle.
“That,” he says, pointing his spoon between the two of you, “was not part of the mission.”
Law doesn’t even flinch. Just keeps walking, face unreadable except for the ears burning red.
You try to look casual. Like you didn’t just sneak off a casino floor at sunrise “We, uh... we stayed for surveillance reasons.”
Penguin snorts “Yeah, I bet you were surveilling something.”
You shoot him a glare, still wearing Law’s boots “My heel broke.”
“Sure it did. And your lipstick broke too? All over the captain’s face?”
You reach up automatically to touch your lips, and groan when you realize he’s right.
Law growls under his breath “Enough.”
But Shachi’s having too much fun “Man, I thought you’d at least try to sneak back on like it didn’t happen. This is so much better.”
“Do you want to swim today, Shachi?” Law deadpans.
Bepo pops his head out of the hallway “Did you two share a bed? Was it part of the act or did something actually happen? Because you both look like—”
“Bepo.” Law cuts him off like a gunshot.
You turn to face Law, trying so hard not to laugh because the man looks like he wants to teleport to another planet. His hair’s still a little messy. His collar’s open. And he’s got the exact same expression he had when you kissed him: that barely-holding-it-together calm that only you can see cracking.
You mutter under your breath, “We should’ve never come back.”
Law nods “Agreed.”
Then, just when you’re about to make a break for your quarters, Law stops and turns.
He grabs your hand.
The crew goes dead silent.
He lifts your fingers to his lips in one smooth motion. Kisses them.
Soft. Deliberate.
Then walks off with all the calm dignity of a man in socks who’s still the most dangerous person in the room.
Your brain short-circuits. The crew loses their minds.
Penguin lets out a strangled “WHAT—”
Shachi screams “HE’S IN LOVE!!!”
And you’re just standing there, one hand in the air, heart about to burst out of your chest.
You finally bolt down the hallway toward your room, calling back “I’M NOT TALKING ABOUT THIS!!”
Bepo shouts after you, “CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR EMOTIONAL MATURITY!”
You slam your door shut, cheeks on fire, heart racing, and a stupid smile you can’t shake no matter how hard you try.

I'd like to imagine a Yandere!Python Husband would keep you up all night, panting and purring about how your home is big enough to fit more than the two of you. He'll keep his thick cocks buried in both of your holes while he casually asks you how many children you'd want to have. No matter what your answer is, he'll keep fucking you and dumping his thick seed directly inside your womb. It's okay to pass out a little, he doesn't mind! Rest assured that you will be waking up to a belly full of cum and a snuggly snake curled around you in a protective manner (as if you're already pregnant and in need of protection). His dream is to knock you up with twins or triplets 💖
"You'll grant that for me, won't you, dearie~?"

how about reader comforting gojo / mediating when their new baby doesn’t like him? maybe his cursed energy makes his presence too overwhelming for them or maybe they just don’t like his freaky blue eyes
Gojo x reader
Gojo Satoru had faced curses stronger than most sorcerers could even comprehend. He had been feared and revered in equal measure. But nothing — nothing — had prepared him for the heartbreak of his own child not liking him.
It had started the moment you brought the baby home. Swaddled in soft cotton, cheeks plump and rosy, their tiny fists would flail happily when you held them. But the second Gojo leaned over the crib, his heart swelling with love and nervous excitement — the baby would cry. Not a soft whimper, but a full-blown scream that shattered the peaceful quiet of the nursery.
“Maybe it’s my cursed energy,” Gojo muttered one night, sitting on the floor with his knees drawn up to his chest. His head was tipped back against the wall, hair messier than usual, the pale blue glow of his eyes dim beneath the weight of his exhaustion. “Maybe it’s too much for them.”
You sat cross-legged beside him, your hand rubbing circles on his back. “You’re suppressing it, though. You’re being careful.”
“Careful’s not enough, apparently,” he sighed, dropping his head into his hands. His long fingers tangled in white hair. “I’m supposed to be the strongest. But I can’t even get my own kid to stop crying when I look at them.”
“Or maybe,” you teased gently, “it’s those freaky eyes of yours.”
He shot you a glare, but you saw the sadness lingering beneath the usual mischief. “I’m serious.”
“I know,” you murmured. You leaned in, pressing a kiss to his shoulder. “But maybe they don’t know that yet.”
Gojo let out a tired laugh. “Great. So my own child thinks I’m scary.”
“Or maybe they’re just overwhelmed,” you suggested. “You’re a lot to take in, Satoru.”
He huffed. “Gee, thanks.”
You shifted closer, brushing a hand through his soft hair. “They’re still figuring out the world. They don’t know yet that their dad is the safest place in it.”
Gojo’s jaw tightened. His gaze drifted toward the crib, where the baby was sleeping peacefully under the soft blue light of the moon filtering through the curtains. He hesitated, his hand hovering mid-air like he was afraid to disturb the fragile peace.
“Hey,” you whispered, scooting to sit behind him. Your arms wrapped around his waist, chin resting on his shoulder. “Let’s try something.”
He turned his head slightly toward you. “What?”
“Come here.”
You rose to your feet and walked over to the crib, scooping up the baby with practiced ease. Their little mouth opened in a sleepy yawn, tiny fists curling against your chest. You settled back down on the floor, motioning for Gojo to sit behind you.
He hesitated before sliding in close, his long legs bracketing yours. His chest pressed to your back as you leaned the baby slightly toward him.
“Just let them get used to you,” you said softly. “No pressure. Just… be here.”
Gojo’s breath was warm against your neck as he leaned down. The baby stirred slightly, their sleepy eyes fluttering open. Gojo reached out with careful hands, brushing a knuckle along the soft curve of their cheek.
The baby’s gaze met his — wide, round, and unblinking. Gojo held his breath. Their tiny face wrinkled. His heart slammed against his ribs.
But this time, they didn’t cry.
“Hey,” Gojo whispered, his voice so soft it almost didn’t sound like him. His finger brushed along their tiny hand, and miraculously — miraculously — the baby’s hand curled around it.
Gojo’s eyes widened, breath hitching in his throat. His mouth parted like he couldn’t believe it was happening.
“They like you,” you whispered, smiling.
Gojo’s eyes softened, the usual teasing glint replaced by something far more fragile. “Yeah?”
“Yeah.”
He leaned down, brushing the gentlest of kisses to the baby’s forehead. His breath shuddered when they didn’t pull away. His arms circled around you and the baby, his chin resting on your shoulder as his eyes fluttered shut.
“See?” you whispered, turning your head just enough to press your lips to his temple. “They just needed to know you were safe.”
Gojo’s smile was small and quiet. “Guess they’re smarter than they look.”
“Of course they are.” You laughed softly. “They take after me.”
Gojo chuckled, low and warm. His arms tightened around you both, and this time — when the baby stirred and opened their eyes — they didn’t cry. They just blinked up at Gojo with quiet curiosity, their tiny hand still wrapped around his finger.

♡˚₊‧⁺˖ headcanons arcane — sevika x reader

♡┊Sevika is a caring companion, and even though her behavior is different when she is Silco's henchwoman, she has a soft spot for you and the life you two have built together. It wasn’t easy for her to accept her feelings for you. In the beginning, you two were just friends with benefits, and Sevika only enjoyed the sex you had. She would get bored and think. "At least I don't have to pay for someone else at the brothel." She knew it was a horrible thought and was ashamed of having such a selfish mentality. This would be a secret she would keep forever and take to the grave—she would never hurt you by admitting what she thought before developing feelings.
♡┊ As time went on, she gave in to the feelings that persistently warmed her heart and soul. Your smile was the first thing to make her blush—and she hadn’t even thought that was possible. She had always been so controlled and objective that it genuinely shocked her to feel the overwhelming need to have you by her side 24/7. Soon, the word "passion" echoed through her mind like a haunting melody. She found you more addictive than the nicotine that coursed through the cigarettes she smoked.
♡┊Before long, what started as "friends with benefits" naturally evolved into "lovers."
♡┊There was a Sevika before you and a Sevika after you. She had never been the kind of woman who worried about getting home or keeping track of dates. Her life revolved around late nights in the casino’s accounting department, playing poker, grabbing meals from nearby vendors, and caring little about commitments that didn’t involve Silco.
♡┊But after you came into her life, she started making an effort to be an acceptable girlfriend. At first, the change in routine felt strange to her. The loud music she once thrived on was replaced by soft conversations with you about each other's day, accompanied by chaste smiles. She even found herself helping you in the kitchen—passing ingredients and stealing glances at you, looking so adorably domestic to her. Adorable as hell, she’d think, trying to hide the silly smile that crept onto her lips as you continued chatting about your day while she was at work.
♡┊Everyone noticed how much the "big mama" had changed. She was still the tough, no-nonsense woman everyone knew, but there was a new spark to her—a contentment, as if she were finally 100% happy with herself. She began taking better care of herself, and though she wouldn’t admit it outright, she loved when you noticed the little changes she made. A new hairstyle, a fresh haircut, a different lipstick or gloss, or even a change in the eyeshadow she wore—your compliments made her day. "Do you like it? Thank you... I decided to look prettier for you, baby." she’d say with a soft smile, handing you a bouquet of your favorite roses before pulling you into a tight hug. She’d carry you inside, ready to spend hours talking with you, only for the evening to melt into passionate kisses on the couch.
♡┊Sevika expresses her love through acts of service and heartfelt compliments. She’ll do anything to make you comfortable. Though she never imagined sharing her home with anyone, she started taking better care of the space for your sake. When you can’t handle the household chores, she steps in without hesitation—bringing you breakfast in bed and lingering for a moment to make sure you’re okay—"Let me know if you need anything; I’ll come running." she says protective, pressing a tender kiss to your forehead and giving you one last look before leaving the house. Her presence is felt throughout the streets in her actions and reputation, but no matter where she goes, her mind always drifts back to you.
♡┊The marriage proposal came naturally to Sevika. You two had been living together for a while, and she knew without a doubt that you were her great love. At forty, she had no patience for games anymore—it was all or nothing. You were lying in bed when the moment came. "We've been together for a while, right? How about we make things official? Me, you, a nice wedding..." she began, her words a little hesitant as she reached into the drawer with her mechanical arm, pulling out a beautiful red velvet box. She opened it quickly, revealing two rose gold rings. She had carefully chosen a design that suited both of you, seeking help to find the perfect pair. In the end, the cost didn’t matter—it was worth every penny. "You know I love you more than anything. Will you marry me, angel face?" Sevika finally asked, her voice filled with sincerity as she held the ring engraved with her name and gently slipped it onto your finger. It was a simple proposal, shared in the intimacy of your bedroom on an ordinary weekday. Yet, for Sevika, it became an extraordinary moment—a day that would forever hold a sweet place in her heart, the day you said yes and accepted her as your wife.
♡┊Your wedding was simple, just as Sevika had suggested. Money was tight, so she proposed a civil ceremony at the registry office, followed by a quiet picnic in the park where you could spend the day together. She wore a black suit, sharp yet understated, and happily let you make flower crowns for both of you to wear. Lying with her head resting on your thighs, she spoke softly about your future plans, weaving dreams of the life you’d build together. She promised that once your financial situation improved, she’d throw you a grand ceremony—regardless of whether you told her it wasn’t necessary.
♡┊ "Don’t talk nonsense, sweetie. Just wait until I have some good money, okay? Mama's here will give you everything you deserve. Those weddings for rich people are really expensive." she’d say with determination, her voice firm yet tender. As you played with her hair, she smoked leisurely, her gaze alternating between the sky and you. "Just wait for the money to come in, okay? I promise things will get better for us, one day..." she murmured, exhaling smoke through her nose. Sevika didn’t know exactly when things would change for the better, but she held tightly to hope and faith. Until then, she gave you all the love and support she had, pure and unwavering. For her, it wasn’t about the money—it was about showing you, in every way she could, just how much you meant to her.
♡┊And this romanticism transforms into touches of heat on your honeymoon. Sevika adores you as if you were a deity, laying you down on the bed and kissing every inch of your skin. She gently removes the clothes you wore at the wedding, whispering sweet words that send shivers through both of you: "I've waited so long for this, honey... I love you so much it hurts." She kisses your belly, trailing down to your intimacy, leaving soft kisses over your still-clothed pussy. Pushing aside the already damp fabric, she presses her nose against your clit.
♡┊"I will always adore you. You are my world, my most precious thing in this life..." Her green eyes shine as they meet yours, and she carefully removes your panties, returning to kiss the inside of your thighs. Finally, her full lips meet your cunt, a hoarse grunt escaping her as she closes her eyes, savoring your taste. It doesn’t take long for her to lose herself in you, a comfortable heat blooming within her as you pull her hair and rub your hips against her face. Both of her hands hold you firmly in place while the older woman pushes her tongue into your hole, fucking you slowly and savoring every moment of your essence.
♡┊She would slide two fingers inside you, making you feel every inch as they filled and caressed your spongy walls, drawing you tighter around her touch. "Do you want a third finger, darling? Are you that needy, huh? You're making me so proud... Taking me so well." she whispers with a teasing grin. When she adds a third finger, the sensation is overwhelming—you've never felt so full in your entire life. Her tongue lavishes attention on every inch of your bundle of nerves, her lips and tongue working in harmony to send waves of pleasure coursing through your body. Your wife becomes utterly pussy drunk, grunting in excitement as she urges you to give her more of your juices, moaning for you like it’s her greatest pleasure. She doesn’t stop until she makes you squirt, her relentless mouth and fingers ensuring her face is soaked. "Fuck... Holy hell, my angel. You should see your face right now, you know?" she murmurs with satisfaction, wiping some of your wetness from her face with the back of her hand. Her fingers drip with your essence, the sight so erotic it leaves her wet and desperate to make you cum over and over, determined to keep you crying out for her all night long.
♡┊She quickly searches for the strap-on she bought especially for that night—one designed with two attachments for double penetration. The second dildo was crafted for anal play, a vibrating device made of the same material as her mechanical arm. Sevika chose this because she didn’t want to use her arm directly on you, knowing its hard, metallic structure might hurt you. Instead, she always finds creative ways to surprise you, just like tonight.
Carefully, she prepares your body. Her skilled fingers, warm tongue, and plenty of lubricant ensure that both your holes are ready for her. Once you’re comfortable, she lines up the dual-function strap-on, slowly impaling you with precision and care. Her hips move in tandem with the vibrations from the anal dildo, creating an overwhelming wave of pleasure you’ve never felt before.
"Shit, baby, look at this—wet as fuck... You're so greedy, always asking for more. My fuck toy holes are never satisfied, huh?" she teases, her voice low and dripping with desire. She slides two fingers into your mouth, coaxing you to suck on them while she fucks you slowly, savoring every moment. Sevika holds back her own orgasm, her pussy aching and dripping between her muscular thighs as she watches you, beautifully open and writhing for her. Her restraint only heightens her desire, every movement and sound you make driving her wild as she focuses on bringing you to heights of unimaginable ecstasy.
♡┊Sevika activated the function to release a hot liquid from the strap-on, similar to semen. It was a type of hot, translucent lubricant designed to stimulate you and feed her fantasies of shaping your body. "That's it... love, I want to get pregnant so much, you know? You're going to look so beautiful full of my cock. Moan for mommy, moan loudly." she moaned hoarsely, biting your shoulder and making you bite hers too. It was a fair exchange; you would mark her, and she would do the same. She slapped you hard on the ass, moving her hips back and forth quickly while holding your neck and joining your lips in a kiss that mixed your moans. Her breasts pressed against yours, making both your nipples hard as she went harder, finally making you squeeze the silicone cock as the hot artificial liquid rewarded you, leaking from your holes and leaving you dizzy with the specially made substance. "I love you so much... you are mine forever..." Sevika gasped, resting her head on your breasts, kissing the soft flesh and biting gently as she pulled out of you.
♡┊After the mess, she will clean you up and give you a bath, along with herself, not letting you fall due to your legs being weak from the orgasm. She dresses you in one of her loose blouses and puts clean sheets on the bed, placing you to lie in her strong arms, giving you a kiss on the forehead, sighing, also tired, but satisfied. "Go to sleep, so when you wake up, I'll still be here to enjoy our honeymoon." Sevika promises, calming you down as she waits for you to fall asleep so she can rest peacefully. It was a small new beginning among so many others, but she swore to herself to always make you happy, and the moon was the witness to that, bathing the two of you in silver on that night of peace and love—everything you needed, everything she needed, and now, there was you."

“look at me, baby,” you croon against her cunt between licks, fingers delving through her slick, pink happy trail.
“can’t. i’ll cum- fuckkk,” she groans, powder-blue eyes tipping skyward beneath her forearm as your lips close around her clit, warming it in your wicked mouth.

megumi is head over heels for you. Maybe even obsessed but he’d never admit it.
There was only one problem.
You both were friends because he was too much of a coward to tell you how he felt. He told himself many times that it was okay. If you could still drag him everywhere with you, if he could still come over and do your skincare routine.
Then it was ok.
But he was selfish.
Oh how he wanted to hold you, kiss you, he couldn’t help the jealousy that filled him when another guy treated you terribly.
Megumi was never subtle with his feelings but you’re oblivious. When he’d take you out to get your favorite treats, your to busy stuffing your face that he swiftly swiped your hair out of your face, holding it with an amused smile on his face. The way he ‘complains’ about you not bringing a sweater when you said that you wouldn’t get cold. But he thinks it looks better on you anyways and now you’re happy, that pretty smile on your lips. But it’s so painfully obvious because Megumi is only soft with you.
“Come on Megumi!” Yuuji yells, throwing his arms around his shoulder. Megumi slumps, rolling his eyes.
“Don’t call me that.” Nobara eyebrows raise, digging her shoulder into his side.
“Why? Only your ethereal best friend can call you that?”
Megumi wants to smile because he’s always happy when you’re mentioned or around. But he bites it back and pouts instead. He sucks his teeth as the two continue to pester him.
He lets out a sigh when he enters your room.
“Megs!” You light up and that warm smile etches back on his face.
“Hey.” He caresses your hair when you hug him.
“Come! Sit!” You pat your bed and he obliges. You begin rambling about the new skincare products you wanted to try with him.
“I got you something.” His words cut you off.
“Huh? Me?” You blink and he laughs.
“Yes you.” He pulls a small box from his pocket.
“You’ve been saying you wanted one…so I got you one.” He opens the box and your eyes twinkle, much like the diamond on the necklace.
“Megumi.” You breathe out, holding it so softly in the palms of your hands.
“Thank you.” You quip, placing a chaste kiss on his cheek.
It wasn’t the first time and Megumi hopes it isn’t the last.
“Put it on me!” You say giddily, turning around. He gently rests it in your neck, clasping it. You face him, playing with it.
“Does it look pretty?” You smile at him but he’s already looking at you, never flickering to the necklace.
“Very pretty.” He says so softly.
“So are we gonna try those products?” He tilts his head and you clasp your hands.
“Right! Come on!”
Megumi enjoys his time with you like it might be his last. He cherishes every look you give him, every word you say. He holds onto everything. He’s sat on your bed once again, as you rummage through your bag. Your hands engulf his face.
“I was gonna put a lip mask but they don’t even look dry. You have pretty lips ‘gumi.” You say staring without a shame and his heart races.
“I do?”
You hum.
“But I don’t so you need to apply some on me.” He laughs as you close your eyes, scooting closer to him.
He holds your chin between his fingers, letting the cream lather on your lips. You can feel his breath inches away from you, making your stomach do backflips. Your eyes flutter open and he blinks at you. He gulps, focusing back on your lips. However your eyes stay open, engraving his features into your memory.
“You’re very pretty Megumi.” He tries to fight the blush that covers his face.
“Pretty?” He glances at you.
“Fine. Handsome.” You cheekily say and he shakes his head in amusement.
He swipes his thumb over the bottom of your lip, cleaning it up. He holds your chin, his thumb gliding across your skin. Your big eyes blink up at him and he can’t find it in himself to hold back any longer. As soon as his lips meet yours, you deepen it, almost as if you’ve been waiting for this exact moment.
News flash, you were.
Megumi loses himself in you, the way your lips feel, your hands coming up to brush at the nape of his neck, your scent. When you pull away you break into a smile.
“My lips were kinda chapped.” He jokes, the product on his lips as well. You laugh and he does too.
“So…” You drag on and he laughs.
“Come over here you idiot.” He says as he pulls you onto his lap, kissing you once again.
Finally his problem was solved.

❝ THINKING ABOUT .. bob reading and you two cuddling together . ❞
MASTERLIST .
"That sounds.." You would say 'ridiculous' out loud, but knowing you would probably do the same thing in real life, you didn't.
"If she loves that guy, and she's gonna leave soon to someplace, she should've hugged him longer."
It's been a comforting evening for the two of you. You had been resting just cozily close with Bob.
One of your legs tangled up with his, and your head is just resting on his chest as he reads to you— peacefully, undisturbingly quiet so.
His voice is quite soothing to be listened to. It just has that calming effect on you, which allows you to be more relaxed, and not wanting to even think of unwanted things at the moment.
One of his hands would find its' way to rub the side of your body, as if wanting to mentally remind himself that you're there with him right now as he reads. He's not alone, and knowing that you truly enjoy and loved the way he reads to you.
Peace. This is what he wanted for so long— something that he truly have longed for. He manages to push all his pent-up issues aside, trying his very best to relish this special moment with you.
"Their love story seemed so tragic.."
You managed to utter out, all while enjoying the mere sound of his calm breathing, and even his occasional gentle touches.
It didn't take long for him to nod slightly in agreement over your own words; his expression pensive. "It is, honestly.."
"But I feel like, despite everything— their efforts for each other feels so personal, willingly to face everything with one another."
"I find that beautiful."
You buried your face on his chest with a nod and a quick hum, already feeling the drowsiness beginning to catch up on you— his arms would securely wrap around you, albeit loosely, and one would placidly stroke your hair lovingly.
It didn't take long before he could faintly hear the light snore from you, which is a clear indication that you have fallen asleep.
Setting his book aside, Bob readjusted his position for a bit, comfortably so, without really letting go of you; pulling the blankets even more to make sure it's enough to keep you both warm for the night—
— to which you snuggled closer to him in your sleep, much to his mild surprise, but it's quickly being replaced with a look of pure adoration.
He's just happy to be there with you like this, all snuggly and warm beneath the covers, with no one else around to bother the both of you.
.
"Barnes, I think we should—" Yelena stopped on her tracks halfway, which earned a puzzled look from Bucky, who's not too far behind her.
"What is it..?"
She shushes him before his gaze darts toward the two familiar figures on the sofa, cuddling so close— so peacefully. Bob's chin is practically resting atop of your head, while you're nestling on his chest, sleeping soundly together.
A small, satisfied smile would appear upon Yelena's face ( Bucky low-key did too ), before deciding to leave you two alone for now— the mere sight warms their heart, genuinely so.

thinking about shouto todoroki and his raging breeding kink. this man is desperate to give his own children the childhood he always wanted, and it’s made even worse when he sees you interact with his siblings’ kids. you’re so naturally at ease with them that he can’t help his mind wandering to a family of his own, one he’s created with you—a toddler asleep against his neck, another one swelling in your belly. literally feels his whole body flash hot, has to grind his teeth together to keep his composure so he doesn’t bend you over the couch. silent the entire drive home, hand clamped possessively on your thigh. pins you up against the door the second you’re inside, hands hot and firm on your hips, “I wanna start trying, love, can we? need to see you full of my baby.” makes you cum on his fingers and tongue, praising you, “my gorgeous fucking girl, you can cum for me again, can’t you? let me make you feel good, darling, the least I can do as the father of our child, right?” has you begging and dripping before he slides his cock inside you. babbling out nonsense, can barely think around the driving feral need to have you full of him. presses down on your lower belly where he can feel his cock kissing your cervix. “keeping you on my cock until you’re pregnant, understand sweetheart? need everyone to take one look at you and know you’re fucking mine.” cradles you in his arms afterward, kissing your forehead and musing about baby names
excuse me being disgusting the spirit possessed me this evening

yandere!floyd leech x (female) reader cw: (soft/subtle) yandere, nsfw, breeding, obsession, unhealthy behaviors/relationship, slight delusion, floyd's kind of a pervert in this one note - everything is in bloom in spring: the plants, the incessant rain, romance… for floyd, it means mating season.
In the most unfiltered way, Floyd feels like utter shit.
He tossed and turned all throughout the night, drowning in an ocean of his own sweat. One minute, he was hot all over, thus the blankets were cast off, and the next he was chilled to his marrow so badly he had to cocoon himself in those same drenched sheets. Even though it’s early spring and the unpredictable forecast has hammered NRC’s campus with floods of cool rain, Octavinelle Dorm is kept at suitable temperatures for its residents.
Therefore, it shouldn’t be much of an issue. He’ll regulate and bounce back…or whatever it is human bodies do when throttled with wild weather.
Floyd has an innate sensitivity to everything, so it’s no surprise he’s able to immediately zero in on it—the creeping suspicion that something’s wrong. He knows he’s falling ill, but there are way too many human ailments for him to recall and some of them aren’t even worth pitching a fit over. He takes pride in his human immune system, which the doctors have observed is healthy every year he’s had to sit for his medical exams, so, really, he has no reason to fret.
And he’s not. It’s more inconvenient than anything. He has plans today—plans he’s not exactly thrilled about—but plans nonetheless. This mounting sickness is the perfect excuse to ditch them and sleep the weekend away. If he believed in all that universe-speaking-through-signs crap, he’d say fate is on his side. It’s destiny telling him not to go on this blind date.
That’s right. A blind date. Those are the plans.
He’s not even sure why he agreed to it in the first place. Maybe because it sounded interesting at the time it was proposed, but now he has to actually execute everything he once marveled at in theory. And dates are so much work, even more so when you’re not feeling it.
But Jade—the professional provocateur that he is—went and blabbed about this development to their mother, who was so thrilled on Floyd’s behalf and wished him all the best. If she wasn’t stuck in the sea with her own business to handle, she’d come up there to visit and cheer him on—something Floyd was quick to veto. He loves his mama, but sometimes she can be excessive in her affections. Any other day he’d be pleased to bask in it, but not when he’s feeling so volatile. It’s like the four seasons are at constant war within his body, each one battling for sole control over his temperament.
Still, he’s a little curious.
He’s never been on a blind date before. It was arranged through an app he’d downloaded for the sake of slaking his boredom. Find your next Charming Darling. That’s what the app advertised—purely fairy-tale experiences. True love and princesses and all kinds of lovey-dovey stuff Floyd scrunched his nose at. Azul had said the app itself seemed “dubious at best, but most certainly a scam,” as it worked only by pairing two anonymous users together for online chatting. It was a location thing, apparently. You wouldn’t know who you were talking to and neither would the other person—each profile kept private for suspense or some other stupid reason—but you’d both know where the other was in proximity to you.
And it just so happened that Floyd’s Charming Darling was close. On campus close.
He wondered which small fry had matched with him, and it was his theorizing that convinced him to melt out of bed and into clothes for the day. He can handle a few hours in town. He needs to pick up some things anyway, so if the date is a bust the trip won’t have been for nothing.
After confirming the meeting place with his so-called ‘darling’, he pulls his sneakers on, stuffs his wallet in his pocket, and then sets off to catch the bus into town.
Even though the sun is high in the sky, the would-be heat is chilled by the gentle breeze rolling in from the coast. His head is pounding and stuffed full of crackling static and wires, and he feels an impossible itch deep beneath his skin. But the pleasant weather manages to lift his spirits enough for him to let his date know he’s arrived at the café. He finds a table outside and plops down, content to wait after receiving an enthusiastic almost there text.
He smells you before he sees you.
Suddenly, the sticky-sweet aroma of candy and pastries and every other saccharine thing invades his senses. It’s thrilling like blood in the water, widening his pupils until his eyes are nearly twin pools of the deepest black, but instead of iron and injury he catches the floral notes of arousal. Or maybe it’s a scarily strong perfume.
Either way, it has his hunting instincts switched on, that predatory hindbrain of his prickling with the urge to chase and capture prey.
Just before he can sift through the other scents slamming his nose and narrow in on that very specific one, someone speaks up.
“You’ve gotta be kidding me. You’re my Prince Charming?”
Oh, he knows that voice. Immediately, whatever bad mood was sitting on simmer in the back of his head shuts off and is replaced with a burst of positive energy. A malicious smile curls on his lips, one he’s all too eager to flash at you when he turns around in his seat.
He almost falls out of it.
You look different. It’s a good sort of different. In your pretty blouse and skirt, stockings pulled up to your knees, you look ready for a date. You’ve even styled your hair and done your makeup to match your outfit. It’s a stark contrast to how you normally look at school: perpetually exhausted, too lazy to do anything more than simply pull your uniform on and attempt a semi-presentable attitude. Enough to get through the day. But this… This is a genuine effort.
You got all dressed up for this little date. Even put on a pretty scent.
All for him.
Cute.
If this was the sea, you’d attract all sorts of predators.
Thankfully, your scowl is evidence enough that you’re too miffed to notice his uncharacteristic silence. He beams up at you, the picture of innocence.
“Heya, Shrimpy. Looks like you’re the one I’m s’posed to meet.” To prove it, he holds his phone up for you to see. The chat log glints back at you.
“Unfortunately.” You fix your purse strap and eye the surrounding area with a frown. Floyd can tell you’re searching for your real date because you don’t believe it could be him. When you check your phone for confirmation, your expression sours. “So it really is you.”
“In the flesh. Sooo. You gonna sit?”
“I guess. I already made the trip here, might as well.” You slide into the seat across from him.
“Ya look good.”
“And you look like you just crawled out of a cave.”
“Nope, not a cave.” He rests his elbows on the table and leans in, a giggle tickling the back of his throat. “Bed.”
“Yeah, that sounds like you.”
“If I’d known it was gonna be you, I woulda wore somethin’ nice.”
“Can’t get much nicer than this.” You gesture at him vaguely and he laughs. He’s glad he didn’t miss this. “Whatever. I’ll just get some cake to go and be on my way.”
“Whaaat? That’s lame. Aren’t ya gonna stay a bit?”
I’ll make it fun, so don’t go.
“Why? Are you?”
He nods.
“You don’t even like me. Why would I make myself—and you—even more miserable by staying?”
“Cuz,” he replies with a noncommittal shrug, like that answers it.
Instead of offering him a response, you pry the menu open and hide behind the flaps.
“Didn’t think you were the dating app type,” he tries, aiming for small talk.
You lower your menu to look at him. “Tell me, Floyd. What’s the ‘dating app type’ supposed to look like?”
He leans back in his seat, amused by your annoyance. “Dunno.” And then, before you can recover, a rapid-fire question: “Who were you hopin’ to meet today?”
Tell me so I can beat ’em into the ground.
He snaps out of the sudden territorial jealousy and, like the waves, feels the violent urge ebb away.
Weird. He’s not looking to start a fight today. So then why is he so…restless?
“Not you. You’re the furthest thing from my ideal Prince Charming.”
And he’s back in the ring, ready to swap verbal vitriol until someone succumbs to the blow. “Well, what’s your perfect, li’l prince look like?”
“I don’t know.” You huff and retreat behind the menu, and right then he knows he has you cornered. “Anyone but you.”
“Aww. C’mon, Shrimpy, ya gotta have an image of ’em, at least. If you’ve spent so much time thinkin’ about it—” and he knows you have because he was present for all of those midnight text exchanges, trading details on future partners like they were cards— “then you’ve gotta have an idea.”
“It’ll never be you, so I don’t see why you’re so interested.” But then you slam your fist against your palm. “Oh, I get it. You just want dirt on me.”
“What? No way. That’s boring.” He pulls a disgusted face. He’s not the type to rely on psychological warfare and mental manipulation. So not his style.
“Isn’t that your whole angle?”
His mood promptly nosedives. “Just cuz I’m in Octavinelle and I hang with Jade and Azul doesn’t mean I follow their flow by the letter,” he snaps.
Rather than flinch back, his irritated tone seems to smooth out your stiffness and he watches you visibly relax. He thinks that’s strange. Why aren’t you scared? Not that it’s his intention to frighten you. The last thing he wants is to chase you off. He’s waited so long for a moment like this one; he isn’t going to ruin it.
That’s why he’s so thrilled you’re you. The other small fry would just quiver like a bunch of babies, but you’re different. You meet his mood swings head-on, unflinching and unbothered. Patient, that’s what he’d call it. You’re patient. Not surgically so like Jade and definitely not meticulously like Azul. Your patience is like a tide pool. Calm and transparent. No ulterior motives.
It’s just you. That’s why he likes you so much. No elaboration needed.
“In that case, I could turn the question on you,” you continue, idly scanning the menu. “What does Floyd Leech’s ideal partner look like?”
Fuck. He wants you to say his name again. It pokes at some dormant part in his brain, the one that’s just starting to wake, humming with a queasy sort of desire. He fidgets with the menu, more focused on the extensive list of treats than the contents of your question.
He could say his ideal partner is you, but you probably wouldn’t believe him. And because of that it’s not worth using as a shock factor. Too predictable.
“Someone fun,” he says after a beat of quiet.
“So it was you… I can’t believe I didn’t realize that while we were texting.”
“Wasn’t obvious for me either. You talk so casually over text. It’s like a completely different Shrimpy.”
Equipped with this new information, it drapes another layer of context over your conversations. Because now he can associate your face with all of those flustered messages. He’s proud of that—of teasing you and eliciting such sweet reactions. To think it was you on the other end this entire time. He wonders if he made your heart skip a beat. Or maybe you stuffed your face in a pillow to hide your embarrassment. He pictures you holed up in Ramshackle, vibrating with nervous excitement.
Cute, cute, cute.
Refusing to dignify that with a proper retort, you fold your menu, pass it to the waiter, and voice your order. Floyd follows your lead, rattling off the name of the first dessert that caught his eye.
Just beyond the umbrella shielding both of you from the sun’s searing gaze, storm clouds begin to darken the pastel sky.
To shake off the ache that’s beginning to brew behind his eyes, he asks you about your plans for spring break. He must have won the small talk lottery because the suspicion in your stare disappears and you launch into a full-blown lecture about all the things you plan to get done. A whole grocery list. You’re going to be one busy Shrimpy come next week. A shame he won’t be around to witness it.
He’s keen to listen because it’s really all he can do with his waning focus. Your voice reels him in when his attention drifts. He doesn’t realize he’s admiring your mouth as it sounds out syllables he can only just register. Suddenly, it’s like he can’t even parse human speech. You’re looking through him, brows furrowed.
He’s always thought about kissing you. It’s in a moray’s nature to lie in wait, shrouded in the shadows, patiently waiting for the opportune moment. He doesn’t have anything to hide behind now, though. And if he kissed you here he thinks you might slap him. That would be invigorating.
Something stirs in him.
No. Actually, it’s…
The world.
The world is being stirred. Someone’s stuffed a spatula into the fluffy mixture and given it a steady whirl, and now everything’s a blurry mess of shapes and colors. He blinks rapidly to clear his vision.
It’s too hot. He needs to peel himself out of his skin and soak in the abyssopelagic zone.
Is he sweating? He must be. He’d lick at the liquid gathering between his armpits to determine that, but he’s on a date with you and human courtship dictates that he must impress you. So he can’t do things humans consider ‘gross’ or ‘indecent’. He has to leave a nice impression. He has to prove to you he’s just as good, if not better, than your lousy Prince Charming.
So he wipes his palms on his pants. Not that he’ll hold your hand. He thinks you’d sooner chop your own hands off than willingly reach for him, and the image of this extreme aversion is too funny to offend him.
Floyd swallows thickly. Your smell is so strong. Have you always smelled like this? Now that he’s looking at you, you appear…softer. He can’t explain it. Your skin looks healthier. The darkness sitting under your eyes isn’t nearly as sunken in as it usually is. Your lips shimmer with a beautiful shade of pink-red. It’s almost like you’re glowing.
If you were a mer, he thinks you’d be an ornamental fish. A pretty thing kept pampered, fins flowing like skirts, scales bright like individual chips of glass. A beguiling beauty who is just as fierce as she is stunning.
Maybe, he wonders, his gaze trailing down to your chest, you have eggs. Maybe that’s why you look softer.
“oyd… Floyd!”
He snaps back to himself. “Hmm?”
“Are you listening?”
“What part?” he asks without missing a beat, still smiling even though it hurts to do anything more than simply breathe. “Shrimpy’s got lotsa plans. You’re gonna be all diligent and hardworking. Hey, you should stay over at Octavinelle. We’ll keep ya nice and busy there.”
You roll your eyes. “Keep dreaming.”
He giggles. Oh, if only you knew of all the things he dreams about. Nothing can compare to the real Shrimpy, though. The one who glares at him like he’s an insect. The one who puffs up like a pufferfish when upset or angry. The one who always has such fun reactions to his teasing. How could he possibly stay away?
Just then, the desserts arrive. Floyd can’t find the appetite and is instead satisfied watching you eagerly receive your fruity drink and cake. He scoops a bite of pudding on his spoon and holds it out to you. Unsurprisingly, you scowl at it.
“Absolutely not.”
“It’s a date, ain’t it? Gotta live up to your expectations.” And then, because he’s itching for your hands on him, whether to hit him or choke him out, he adds, “Shrimpy’s got some reeeal high standards.”
“Ugh. Gross. You’re the last person I’d want to feed me. And I’ve got my own food, thank you.”
“Ya sure? Should I manta it?”
“Should you what?” You fix him with a critical look, but he can see the interest bubbling beneath the thin veil of confusion.
“Y’know, manta it. Like this.” He moves his arm so that the spoon glides along an invisible current, moving smoothly like a manta ray. “Mama used to do that all the time when I didn’t wanna eat somethin’.”
“So the fish version of the airplane.”
“Eeh? That’s what humans do?”
You shrug. “It works.”
Floyd thinks he still prefers the manta. “Sooo. Wanna give it a try?” He’s itching to prove he can provide for you, even if it’s just pudding and not heaps and heaps of fish or an entire shark carcass.
You eye his spoon warily. “What flavor is it?”
“Secret,” he hums, delighted.
“Fine. Just one bite.” You reach to grab it, but he moves his arm up and away.
“Nuh-uh. You gotta let me do it. Defeats the whole purpose if you do it yourself.”
You submit, albeit with a stubborn pout.
“Now say ‘aah’,” he prompts, thinking you might really swing your fist.
Begrudgingly, you lean in and open your mouth wide. “Aah.”
Floyd straightens up in his seat, his eyes the size of plates. He swallows thickly, curling his free hand into a fist. He feels his nails pierce his palm, sharpened points drawing the tiniest pricks of blood. You crack an eye open, all while your wide, impatient mouth gapes back at him.
“Never mind,” he mutters, stabbing the spoon into the pudding and shoving the dish at you. He avoids your searching eyes and instead burns quietly in the flames of his own embarrassed arousal.
“Ugh. I can’t believe I fell for such an obvious trick,” you scoff around a dainty bite of cake. “Honestly… Life was so much better before I found out you were my match.”
Awkwardly, he rubs the back of his neck. He could make dozens of home runs out of the depravity that’s become his thoughts, what with how frequently he’s batting them away. When he looks at his hand, he finds a thin membrane webbing between each of his fingers.
That can’t be good.
“You can have mine,” he blurts, nudging the pudding towards you. “’m not hungry.”
You narrow your eyes at him. “I don’t suppose you want something in return for your generosity?”
“What do ya have to offer?” he asks, swallowing the bucket of saliva pooling on his tongue. It coats his dry throat on the way down. He can’t think like this. Maybe he really is sick because you’re all he can smell right now. It’s like he’s zoned in on it, a shark drawn to blood. Nothing else matters. You’re the only Shrimpy in his sea.
Predators, he remembers, the reminder tacked onto his mental bulletin like an afterthought.
Restlessly, he glances about. He flexes his fingers, curling and uncurling them. Deep down he’s aware this doesn’t mean anything. You’re not his mate, but he wants to protect you anyway. That’s probably the last thing you want, though. You’re a capable Shrimpy. It’s one of your many strengths.
Still… It’s nice to pretend, if only for the moment.
“An actual date,” you say, sipping at your drink.
The way your lips close around the straw is so unintentionally erotic it brings him back to a few minutes ago, when you opened your mouth at him. He should’ve reciprocated, but then it wouldn’t have meant anything. Not to you, anyway.
To clear his head and hopefully cool his boiling temperature, he stuffs a spoonful of pudding in his mouth. It’s sugary but not nearly as much as he’s certain you are. If he licked a stripe up your neck, perhaps he’d know your taste for sure.
“Since we’re here, we might as well, right?” you add and he’s brought back to the present. “And then after that we never have to see each other again.”
“Uh-huh…”
He remains unconvinced. No matter how much you push him away, he’ll still be there to pop up and surprise you on campus.
He’s a bother, and you—sitting beautiful and shimmering in the glow of spring courtship—are everything he’s ever dreamed of.
So it’s definitely eggs, he decides, his mind made up. How else can he explain the smell and the softness, all tell-tale signs of a mate in waiting?
Floyd has never been one to pursue smooth seas, preferring the euphoria of a hard-earned success. But Sea Witch below does he wish today wasn’t so challenging. How is he supposed to express everything in his heart if you can’t even read his body language? He’s not even sure if he can gauge yours. Do you want to mate with him? That’s why you prettied up your fins and…
No.
No, no, no.
He has to remember this is a blind date. You had no idea it was going to be him and neither did he. He wants to come out and say it because the complexities of moray courtship are struggling to get through the muddiness of your own human signs.
It occurs to Floyd he could just cast a spell so that his thoughts are broadcasted to you and he can read yours. But that’s a dirty trick, one that would be heavily frowned upon in the sea and perhaps even on land as well. It’s all so complex. He doesn’t have the energy for all of this thinking.
With a petulant whine, he melts onto the table in a puddle of pouty Floyd.
You raise a questioning brow and finish off the rest of your cake. “I’m eating your pudding so it doesn’t go to waste.”
He waves you off. “Don’t got much of an appetite for it anyway.”
“Suit yourself.” Shrugging, you take a bite and hum in delight. The tiny smile that traces your lips stuns him.
Oh.
He’s never seen you smile like that before… Usually, if you’re smiling, it’s one of malice—directed at him and accompanied with the threat of a clenched fist.
From where his head rests against the table, he’s free to admire you and your gluttony. Will this be enough? If you have eggs, you need to eat so much more than a measly slice of cake and some pudding.
But before he can call the waiter over to order everything on the menu, there’s a loud tearing sound and then a heavy flop. He glances behind him and finds his tail is protruding from his lower back like a thick, winding snake. It thumps against the ground in anticipation, almost as if it’s wagging.
That’s fun!
“So,” he starts, lifting his head to look at you properly. He remembers something you told him over text, when it was well past midnight and the both of you had strayed into more private discussions. “Shrimpy’s never had her first kiss, hm?”
“And it’s not going to be with you, so don’t even try,” is your scathing comeback.
Fuck, he wants you.
A wild grin breaks out on his face, sharpening in time with the fins that pop out from his ears. Crisp sounds rush in all at once, as if the cotton has been tugged out. Traffic, nearby conversations, the shush-shush of the waves crashing against the rocks. He pulls a face at the cacophony assaulting his hyper-sensitive ear-fins.
You stare at him. “You’re…green.”
“Huh?”
But then his fins shred through his sleeves and it becomes apparent his mer features are starting to poke through his human disguise. Teal flashes across his skin in speckled patches, swallowing up what’s left of his previously pale coloration.
This is odd because, as much as he despises it, he choked back that nasty potion just a few days ago to avoid this exact scenario. What gives?
It’s in this transitional stage, the space between half-human, half-mer, that the haze really settles in. Floyd staggers to his feet, rifling around for his wallet, and slams a fistful of bills down. It’s getting bad. He needs something he can’t have, and if he spends any more time here…
“We should go,” you say before he can, already out of your chair. “You need to get back to school or… Well, I guess if it comes down to it we can go to Craneport and throw you in the water there. It’s not too far from here.”
“Aww. Worried I’m gonna dry out?” He manages a casual tone despite the heat bubbling in his blood.
“As if. I just don’t want to haul your heavy eel ass around.” Scoffing, you step out from under the shade of the umbrella.
Just in time for the first few droplets of rain to come pattering down. You and Floyd glance skyward before sharing a quiet look. He extends his hand to catch a few drops on his palm.
“Look at that. The weather wants us to stay together,” he remarks, delirious.
“Even the universe wants us to split,” you speak over him.
“Hee-hee. The universe’s gonna hafta try harder than that. This is nothin’.”
As if in response to his challenge, lightning flashes across the sky in a crackling arc. It’s quickly followed by deep, rumbling thunder. Again, you and Floyd eye each other. His wide, toothy grin makes you frown. But that becomes the least of your worries when a smattering of rain comes pouring down on both of you.
You gasp, your hands flying up to protect yourself. “My clothes! My hair!”
Floyd watches you fall into a panicked sprint, his tail swishing to and fro. He doesn’t care about the many stares he’s starting to draw when he takes off after you, his obnoxious laughter echoing down the path. His clothes are already ruined. A rainstorm isn’t going to make any difference.
You take shelter in an alley, beneath an awning shared by conjoined buildings. Just beyond, a steady curtain of rain falls. Floyd marvels at it with a whistle. What a downpour… The forecast didn’t say anything about rain, but then he supposes that’s normal for springtime on land.
“As if this day couldn’t get any worse,” he hears you mutter. Floyd’s gaze pans from the slick street to you and finds you’re shivering. Your arms are wrapped around yourself and his mismatched eyes travel down, down, down.
Your blouse is clinging to your body and through the sopping fabric he can see the frilly outline of your bra. Unconsciously, his tongue darts out to wet his lips. He tastes sweat-tinged rain as it trails down his face in salty streaks. When he brushes his matted hair out of his eyes—and it feels more like he’s draped a mop of seaweed over his head—he finds you’ve lowered your arms and are now attempting to check your makeup with a pocket mirror.
“Nooo. I spent so much time on it, too…”
Can you get any cuter? If he could afford just the smallest peek, maybe he’d see what type of panties you’re wearing. Are they as lacy as your bra? Are they thin like it, too, allowing him to see the pebbled peaks of your nipples poking through?
Damn it all to the deepest trench! Floyd can’t take it anymore! He needs to know.
“How big is it?” he blurts, grabbing your shoulders. He’s careful not to dig his claws into you, even though his instincts are telling him to shred that silky blouse to ribbons, snap through the strap of your bra with a voracious chomp, and make you his. But you’re precious, not prey, and so he’ll try to exercise some restraint.
You blink back at him in bewilderment. “What are you talking about?”
“You know…” he trails off in hopes that you’ll fill in the empty space.
“No, I don’t.” You shake him off, but he’s quick to latch onto your wrists next. “Seriously, I don’t! What’s gotten into you? You’re acting weird.”
Floyd inhales through his nose. A bad move because your pheromones or perfume—whatever the fuck it is—invade his senses all over again. He can’t keep swatting the inevitable away. It’s only a matter of time before his biology incapacitates him. But while he’s still semi-coherent he’s going to take this opportunity to tell you everything that’s been on his mind ever since he first saw you.
That’s the plan, at least. How much of it he intends to follow, good question.
You’re staring at him like he’s lost his mind and maybe he has, drenched and looking like a teal Godzilla. He pulls back to rake his hands through his soaked hair.
“Y-Your clutch,” he mutters. “Can never tell in human form.”
“My…clutch. You want to know how big my clutch is. As in, like, eggs?”
“Mhm.”
He avoids looking at you out of sheer embarrassment—this sort of thing requires tact and sly communication, not direct fumbling that could be borderline begging—so he can’t imagine what expression you might be making. There’s a long, drawn out silence. He prepares himself to be slapped or berated—maybe both.
You touch his arm gingerly. He peers at you.
“If you were struggling, say so. Gosh, you’re so stubborn.”
Warmth and concern are hidden in those criticizing eyes. Even though your tone feels more like a scolding, it lifts his mood to know you care. He’d tease you for it, but he’s just not feeling it right now.
Floyd shakes off his reservations like a dog drying itself. For once, he doesn’t know what to say or do as he watches you through lidded eyes.
“I don’t really understand what’s going on, but you don’t feel good, right?” At that, he offers a small nod. “You were forcing yourself this entire time. Why didn’t you just leave? Why stick around and suffer?”
“Cuz Shrimpy was really lookin’ forward to this. Didn’t wanna disappoint ya.”
He wanted to impress you, show you that he’s a worthy mate, but that feels impossible now. With his back to the wall, he slides down until he’s sitting on the wet pavement. He’ll probably change back into a moray mer soon. Maybe the rain is delaying it. Maybe it’s the magical properties of the potion regulating what’s left of his human form.
You step into his line of sight then. His gaze travels up your stocking-clad legs. Before he can picture what’s beneath your skirt, you’re crouching down to view him. “I don’t think it matters whether you disappoint me or not.”
Yeah, it does. It matters cuz I like ya and want ya to have a good time.
“So you don’t have eggs,” he says, switching topics.
You sigh. “Yes, Floyd, I don’t have eggs. I’ve never had eggs. Not in the way you’re thinking. Humans don’t lay eggs.”
He knew that. Learned it in land boot camp. A shame. You’d look adorable saddled with a clutch or two.
But if that’s not the case, what’s with your smell? It can’t be perfume. Even the strongest of scents can’t compare to this. This is a sweetness that’s coming from between your legs, he’s sure of it.
You’re reaching into your purse now. “What’s Azul’s number? I’ll give him a call. Don’t push yourself.”
His tail moves without thinking, coiling around your waist to drag you closer. The force of it knocks you forward. With a startled yelp, you shoot your arms out to brace yourself against the wall, unintentionally caging him in. He gazes up at you, an unfocused stare that you hold with newfound intensity.
“Floyd,” you breathe, and he can see you’re scanning his face for answers.
Gently, you run your fingers over the dark swirls on his cheekbones. He gives a full-body shudder in response, biting back an enthusiastic trill when your touches trail to his ear-fins. He flexes his tail and squeezes your waist. He shouldn’t let it go further than this.
But if he does he could finally have you.
“I’ll help. Whatever this is, I’ll…do my best.”
Now it’s his turn to be confused. “You sure?”
You glance at his lap. Floyd follows your line of sight to find his cock pressed prominently against his pants. You swipe his hair back and hold your hand to his forehead.
“You’re burning up! Why would you even come out in the first place if you’re so sick?”
“Didn’t think it’d get this bad.”
You huff. “You’re unbelievable. Aren’t you scared?”
“Course not. How can I be when Nurse Shrimpy is takin’ good care of me?” He tries a playful smirk, but it falls short into a grimace.
“Whatever.” A serious look passes over your face next. “I’m not sure what to do, but… But I think it’s safe to…to do it. That’s what you need, isn’t it?”
Floyd drags you into his lap. “More or less, yeah.”
He doesn’t have to get into the details. That’s for future Floyd to explain…or not.
“Okay. Then… Hurry up and get it over with. The rain’s cold.”
“Don’t worry. I’ll warm ya up.”
“If I get sick from this, I’ll kill you.”
“Hee-hee.”
You shift awkwardly, searching for the right rhythm when you press down against his erection. Floyd hisses through his teeth. It almost doesn’t seem real. He thinks he can feel your pussy through your panties, and he wonders if they’re just wet from the rain or from something else. While you roll your hips, his hands move up to fiddle with the buttons on your blouse. It’s significantly harder to undo them when his claws are long and curved, and in a fit of impatience he grabs hold of the fabric and yanks it open. It comes away with a rip, buttons popping off and exposing your rain-slick skin and bra, much to his minacious delight.
“Floyd!” You yelp as he tips you backwards, pressing you against the cobbled ground. This new position allows him to slot himself between your legs, where he ruts like a mindless animal.
“I’ll get you a new one,” he promises, his mouth laving over your neck.
He just barely remembers to tug his pants and boxers down enough to free his cock, now more moray in structure, the shaft tinted teal and peppered with dozens of nubs. He nearly shreds through his underwear when his claws catch on the waistband. All you can manage is an aggrieved whine, which soon tapers off into a low moan when the head of his cock bumps against your clit.
“Off.”
“Wait, wait! I’ll do it. This is my nicest pair—don’t you dare ruin them.”
He’s sure they’re nice, but right now he doesn’t have time to appreciate them in full. He needs to be inside you or else he’ll pass out. The want is unbearable. Fuck, he wishes this was the sea. It would be easier to entice you there, with colors and scents and shows of strength. It’s way too complicated on land.
Your panties aren’t even halfway down your legs before he’s burrowing himself between your soft folds. It feels better than anything he’s ever known before. You’re warm and gooey inside, squeezing him like you’re intent on snapping his dick in half. And suddenly he can’t think or speak. Everything is blank as he grabs your hips and pulls you down. Your pussy swallows him up in one reckless thrust, and you squeak in surprise when it knocks against your deepest part. He feels your arms wrap around his neck, your legs twisting around his waist, and you cling to him like you’re afraid the storm will sweep you away.
He can’t muster another second of patience or restraint, so he slams in and out of you at an erratic pace, chasing the euphoric bliss that’ll finally satisfy every instinct buzzing beneath his skin.
“S-Slow down, Floyd! I ca—aah—can’t! S’too much,” you babble and dig your nails into his back, which only serves to embolden the brutal snap of his hips against yours.
“Shorry,” he rasps against your skin, his mouth watering with so much drool it drips in fat, warm drops and puddles in the slope between shoulder and neck.
He’s a pathetic moray. He can’t even offer you a nice cave to curl up in. He can’t even manage the patience to prepare you, to work you up until you’re glistening with desire. The best he can do is this filthy alley during the worst weather ever, and even then it’s far from romantic.
To offer you a modicum of comfort, he slides his tail beneath you to raise your ass for a better angle and provide a pillow for your head. You cry out a string of incoherent words. He pants against your pulse, the little heartbeat pounding in time with his own.
It’s wet and filthy and desperate. He’s not even sure if he’s breathing. All he knows is that he needs to fill you until you’re heavy with his seed, until your pussy weeps nothing but cum. You can’t walk around with your fins all prettied up, smelling like a sweet treat, attracting the worst kinds of predators with each step. If you smell more like him—if every inch of you is marked by him—no one else would dare to approach you. He’ll make damn sure of it.
Oh, that’s what this is.
Mating season.
Perhaps he could’ve gotten it out of his system if he stayed on campus and swam laps in Octavinelle’s special pool. He’s not used to feeling it in spring, but then his cycle has never followed any set schedule. It’s only this bad because he saw you—because he caught your scent and it flipped the switch in his brain, the one that’s screaming at him to breed his mate.
Because that’s what you are, even if you don’t know it yet.
That’s what you’re going to be. Biology won’t give you a choice.
Floyd grits his teeth, his pace mostly uneven now. He won’t bite. He’s not sure he can control his strength, and if he sinks his teeth into you what’s stopping him from tearing the flesh from your bones? Instead, he presses sloppy, open-mouthed kisses to the space above your heart. His arms twist tightly around you to keep you trapped in place.
It’s fine if you think he’s scum or the worst moray in the Coral Sea.
Nothing is more titillating than a challenge.
Wrapped up in you and your hypnotic scent, your breathless voice in his ears, he cums so hard his vision whites out. You seem to have done the same, for your pussy clenches like a vise, rendering you boneless beneath him.
The haze in his head is dizzying. He blinks until color returns and that’s when he tugs your skirt up to see where you’re connected. He’s buried snugly inside, keeping all of his cum plugged deep. Your chest rises and falls with every wheezing gasp, and in this moment you are so fragile he thinks you might shatter if he fucks into you without warning again.
A feral smile widens on his lips.
“Hey, Shrimpy.” He nudges your cheek until your head lolls to the side. He knows you’re still conscious because your eyes, ringed with ruined eyeliner, find his. “There you are. Don’t fall asleep on me, ’kay?”
Thunder rumbles in the distance.
He leans in close. “Didja know? You came to this li’l date smellin’ suuuper sweet and I came sick.”
It takes a moment for you to register his words, but when you do all you can provide is an intelligent: “Huh?”
His hands settle on your spread legs, claws digging shallowly into the meat of your thighs. “Isn’t that funny?”
“Wha… I don’t…” You shake your head. “Don’t get it.”
“Hee-hee. Did I fuck all the brains outta ya? Oops. Guess you’ll figure it out later then.”
We’re each other’s cure, he thinks, his form shadowing yours.
And now a mated pair.

—when you can't resist it and you spank vi—
cw: fem reader, funny and silly situation, drabble, mention of spank, vi ashamed.
ekko's hiding place was relatively quiet, except for the sound of metal tools clinking and the occasional scattered conversation. you’d been wandering around, trying to find something useful to do, but your attention kept drifting toward vi.
she was bent over a table, working on her gauntlets as usual. her movements were meticulous and focused, and the furrow in her brow made it clear she was completely absorbed in her task. her jacket rested on a nearby chair, leaving her fitted tank top on display, highlighting the defined lines of her shoulders and muscles.
but it wasn’t her tank top that caught your attention—it was her pants. vi always wore those long, dark pants, snug and fitted, as if they were made specifically for her. the way they clung to her body, outlining every curve, was almost mesmerizing.
and now, with her leaning over the table, all her weight resting on her arms, the fabric stretched in a way that made everything stand out even more. you couldn’t help but notice how the curve of her backside was perfectly outlined, firm and athletic.
for a moment, a mischievous spark ignited in your mind, growing quickly into a reckless idea.
"why not?" you thought to yourself, a sly grin spreading across your face.
you crept up behind her, careful not to make a sound on the metal floor. vi didn’t even notice your presence, too focused on adjusting some mechanism on her gauntlet.
the opportunity was perfect. without giving it too much thought, you raised your hand and delivered a slap to her backside so loud it echoed across the hideout, causing a few nearby heads to turn in surprise.
the impact made vi’s backside jiggle slightly, the material of her pants rippling briefly from the force before snapping back into place.
“WHAT THE FUCKKK?!” vi shouted, straightening up so fast she nearly knocked over the table. her hand immediately flew to her backside as she whipped around to face you, her expression a mix of shock and rage.
her cheeks, normally pale, were now tinged with a deep red, the flush crawling up her neck. you couldn’t help it—you burst into laughter, bending over as you tried to catch your breath.
“sorry, sorry!” you managed to say between giggles, though your tone was anything but apologetic. “i couldn’t resist!”
vi stared at you, her blue eyes wide with disbelief. she looked as though she was trying to process what had just happened, her mouth opening and closing like she couldn’t quite find the words. finally, she pointed a shaky finger at you.
“what the hell makes you think that was a good idea?!” she demanded.
“well…” you began, shrugging with a playful grin. “with those pants and that pose, you were practically begging for it.”
vi’s jaw dropped. her hands fell to her hips as she stared at you, clearly caught between laughing and yelling. she opted for yelling.
“begging for it? are you kidding me?! it hurt, you idiot!”
“Ah, come on, vi,” you said, trying to soften the moment. “it was a little token of affection.”
“that wasn't affection! that was a fucking attack,” she retorted, twitching slightly as if the sting was still present.
"i honestly didn't think it would move that much. it was the highlight of my day.” you replied, unable to keep a smile off your face.
“SHUT UP!” vi snapped, her voice cracking slightly as her blush deepened. her hands moved to cover her backside defensively, as if to shield it from another ambush.
“is it still stinging?” you asked, feigning innocence. “or was it just a really good hit?”
vi’s hands slowly dropped to her sides as she narrowed her eyes at you, her face now an unmistakable shade of red. for a moment, you thought she might lunge at you, but instead, she took a deep breath, her shoulders visibly tensing.
“get ready to run,” she growled, her voice dangerously low. “because when i catch you, you’re not walking away from this.”
“is that a challenge?” you teased, taking a step back.
“no,” vi said, her tone chilling. “it’s a damn promise.”
before you could say another word, vi started moving toward you. you did the only sensible thing: you bolted.
your laughter echoed through the hideout as vi chased after you, her growls of frustration barely audible over your hysterical giggling. you knew you were in trouble, but you couldn’t stop thinking about her flustered, embarrassed expression.
totally worth it.

hiiii! first of all, i love your fics sm!! i love the way you write Law 💙 can i request a fic with BIG LOSER Law? lmaooo like, maybe they go on their first date and he's so awkward and nervous. he has everything planned out but nothing is going according to plan so he's stressing constantly, or the crew is watching him trying to flirt w reader and they get second hand embarrassment (tbh anything you want to write is fine, just make him suffer a little bit bc i think it's funny)
Captain Loser

law × gn!reader
a/n: I tried my best to keep him in character — I hope I did a good job!

Law is calm during battles.
Law is calm in surgeries.
Law is not calm when you say, “Sure, I’d love to go on a date with you.”
And now, he’s pacing in his room like a man being hunted.
“Captain,” Bepo says gently, poking his head into Law’s room “You’ve been… changing your coat for the past 15 minutes.”
Law stops, eyes wild “Which one makes me look more—” he stops. Then corrects himself “Never mind.”
Bepo blinks “More what?”
“…Like I’m not dying inside.”
Bepo nods solemnly “Go with the dark one, it's your color.”
The “date” starts with Law arriving twenty minutes early. Not because he’s eager, of course (he is.)
You show up with a smile, looking relaxed and easy-going, and Law immediately forgets how to stand like a normal person. He moves like someone’s remote-controlling him from across the street.
“You look good” he says.
You blink “Thanks! So do you.”
He dies.
Inside.
Law has a plan. It’s written in his notebook.
Literally.
He wrote a plan.
Phase 1: Get snacks from that café in town.
Phase 2: Walk by the docks.
Phase 3: Compliment them. Not weirdly. Normal compliment.
Phase 4: If going well, offer to take them stargazing. If rejected, die.
Simple.
Except that phase 1 explodes immediately.
The café is closed“Temporarily for repairs” the sign says.
Law stares at the sign like it personally betrayed him “This wasn’t in the plan” he mutters.
You peek over his shoulder “We can just get something from a stall?”
He hesitates. That’s not in the plan. That’s not in the plan.
But you’re smiling, so he nods “Right. Improvising. Yeah. I can do that.”
(He can’t do that)...
Meanwhile, across the street Shachi, Penguin, and Bepo are hiding behind barrels. Watching.
“He’s sweating” Shachi whispers.
Penguin squints “Can he even sweat? Is that medically possible for him?”
Bepo sighs “I don’t think he blinked in five minutes.”
Back on the date, Law is now trying to eat takoyaki. He stabs one with a stick, offers it to you, and then, mid-movement, panics.
“Wait—are you allergic to anything? Shellfish? Octopus? Gluten??”
You laugh “Nope. I’m good.”
“…Okay.” He hesitates “Do you want this one, or should I—”
“I’ll take it.”
Back behind the barrels, Penguin falls to the ground “I can’t watch this.”
By the time you’re strolling along the docks (Phase 2 is back on track!), Law is a wreck. Internally. Externally he still has that serious Captain face on.
“You don’t… date often, do you?” you ask, amused.
Law’s steps falter.
“…Is it that obvious?” he mutters.
You bump his shoulder lightly “Just a little. But it’s cute.”
Cute..........
You just called him........ cute.
Someone please sedate him.
He clears his throat “You’re… uh. You’re not bad yourself.”
You laugh “Was that a compliment?”
He looks away “Kind of.”
You grin “I’ll take it.”
Behind a stack of crates, Shachi is losing his mind “SOMEONE PUT HIM OUT OF HIS MISERY.”
“HE SAID ‘NOT BAD YOURSELF’—WHO EVEN SAYS THAT?!” Penguin wheezes.
Bepo watches calmly “I think it’s going well.”
“…Are we watching the same date?”
You’re sitting on the dock now, feet dangling over the edge, watching the sky turn orange. The date hasn’t gone the way Law planned.
Which is exactly the problem.
He stands next to you like he’s guarding treasure. Except he’s not relaxed. He’s tense. Like he expects an ambush.
From the moon.
“So…” you say, glancing up at him “You always this quiet?”
Law hesitates “I’m… thinking.”
“About?”
“…Phase Four.”
“Phase what?”
He freezes “Nothing.”
You narrow your eyes “Law. Did you… plan this date like a battle?”
He clears his throat “No.”
“…You definitely did.”
He changes the subject. Badly “Do you like… stars?”
Meanwhile, behind a crate about 50 feet away, Shachi has his binoculars out.
“They’re sitting. It’s happening. Phase Four is happening.”
Bepo nods, whispering, “Do you think he’ll kiss them?”
Shachi nearly drops the binoculars “No way. No way. He’d combust.”
Penguin has snacks now “What if y/n kisses him first?”
There’s a beat of silence.
They all go, in unison: “He’d die.”
Back at the dock, you lean back on your hands “Stars are nice. But I like hearing you talk about things you like.”
Law blinks. That wasn’t in the plan.
“…Like medicine?” he asks cautiously.
“Sure.”
“Anatomy?”
You raise a brow “Within reason.”
He exhales slowly “What about… the ocean?”
“See?” you say “You’re doing fine.”
“I don’t think so.”
You tilt your head “Are you nervous?”
“…Extremely.”
You smile.
That’s when you both hear it.
“PENGUIN, GET YOUR FOOT OFF MY HEAD—”
Law stiffens “Wait.”
There’s rustling. A loud clunk. Then “SHHHHHHH!! THEY CAN HEAR US—”
Law turns slowly. You follow his gaze.
A barrel tips over.
Three grown men—one bear, two idiots—collapse into the open like spilled groceries.
“…Oh my god,” you whisper “Were they SPYING on us?!”
Law’s eye twitches.
Shachi pops up “Captain!! Don’t be mad!! We were just—uh—moral support!!”
Bepo waves sheepishly “You were doing great until now!”
Penguin gives you a thumbs-up from the ground “You’re really cute together!”
Law looks like he’s going to murder someone.
You, meanwhile, are wheezing.
“They were there the whole time?!” you gasp, laughing “How long have they been WATCHING?”
Shachi: “Since before the takoyaki.”
Penguin: “Since coat number three.”
Law: “…I’m going to kill you.”
Bepo: “But gently, right?”
You stand up and tug Law’s sleeve. He glances down at you, still visibly unamused.
“I thought it was cute” you say “Your plan. The awkward flirting. All of it.”
He stares “Even this?”
You grin “Especially this.”
His ears turn pink.
Later that night…
Law storms into the crew quarters.
“Meeting. Now.”
They scramble to attention.
He points at each of them “You are banned from surveillance. No more binoculars. No more hiding behind barrels. If I see a single one of you during a private moment again, I will operate your limbs off and sew them back wrong.”
Shachi gulps “Got it.”
Penguin: “Totally fair.”
Bepo: “What about just listening—?”
Law: “Bepo.”
“…Okay. Sorry.”
He turns to leave, coat flapping dramatically—until Shachi calls out “Wait! Did you at least kiss them?!”
Law pauses in the doorway. Silent. Then closes the door behind him.
In the hallway, alone, he leans against the wall, covers his face, and mutters “…Next time.”
Breakfast on the Polar Tang is loud.
Penguin and Shachi are fighting over eggs. Bepo is carefully peeling an orange like it’s surgery. The table’s full—shoulders bumping, chopsticks clattering, someone laughing every five seconds.
You walk in, hair still messy, and Law is already seated at the end.
He looks up the second you enter.
“Morning” you say, rubbing your eye.
He nods, quietly “Morning.”
You take the empty seat beside him.
On the other end of the table, someone yells, “Hey—who took the last piece of cake?!”
You glance up. Sure enough there’s one perfect square of fluffy, cream-filled strawberry shortcake sitting on a plate near the middle. Or rather was sitting.
In one clean, lightning-fast movement, Law grabs it and slides it across the table.
In front of you.
He doesn’t look at you. Doesn’t explain. Just keeps drinking his black coffee like he didn’t just commit pastry theft.
You stare at him.
Then at the cake.
Then back at him.
“You like it” he says again, like that explains everything.
Which… it does. Kind of.
You blink fast and look away, trying not to smile too hard. He’s always the type to do something so sweet.
But then he notices your cup’s empty and, without saying anything, reaches over and refills it from the kettle. Still not looking at you. Still completely casual. Like it's just part of his morning routine.
Your brain short-circuits.
...And it gets worse.
A piece of hair falls into your face. You're about to push it back, but he does it first—absentminded, fingers brushing your temple like it’s nothing.
Like it’s normal. Like it’s just something he’s allowed to do.
You stop breathing for a second.
Law, meanwhile, is already slicing into an omelet, entirely unaware that he’s killing you one tiny gesture at a time.
You take a bite of the cake, cheeks warm.
It’s perfect...Of course it is.
Later, as you’re both standing up to clear plates, you bump shoulders.
“Thanks” you murmur.
“For what?”
“The cake. The tea. The hair thing. All of it.”
He looks at you for a second but then his gaze flicks from your eyes to your mouth and back again.
“…Wasn’t a big deal.”
“It kinda is.”
He blinks. Tilts his head a little.
You smile “You’re a lot cuter when you’re not trying so hard, y’know.”
He frowns “I wasn’t trying before.”
“Exactly.”
You pat his arm, grab your dish, and head toward the sink.
Behind you, he stands there, stuck in place.
Then mutters to himself “…Cuter?”
After breakfast you’re chatting with Bepo about the latest island rumors, sitting at the mess table again. Law’s standing nearby, arms crossed, pretending to read a report. But he keeps looking up every time you laugh. Every time you tilt your head, or say his name, or look like you might say something else.
He’s not subtle.
Not even a little.
You don’t call him out for it. You like it. The fact that he’s choosing to just be around you, even if he pretends he isn’t.
He’s calmer now than he was on your first date. Less fidgety. Less stressed. And way more dangerous because of it.
Like right now, he glances up from his report, sees you rubbing your shoulder absently, and immediately sets the paper down.
“You okay?”
You blink “Yeah, just slept weird.”
He steps behind you and before you can ask what he’s doing his hands are on your shoulders.
Firm, careful pressure. His thumbs move in slow circles against your neck, like he knows exactly what he’s doing. (He does. He’s a doctor, after all).
Your body goes very still.
The crew goes even stiller.
Across the room, Shachi drops a wrench.
Penguin inhales a peanut and starts coughing.
Bepo covers his mouth like he’s watching a sacred ritual.
Law doesn’t notice. Or maybe he does, but doesn’t care.
He just mutters, “Tell me if it hurts” and keeps working the muscle.
You swear you might dissolve on the spot.
Later that day, you're walking down the hall toward the storage room when you hear it “DID YOU SEE THE MASSAGE?”
It's Shachi. His voice echoes off the metal walls.
“That was intimate, right? That wasn’t just medical. That was spiritual.”
Penguin: “I choked on a peanut for a reason. That was fate.”
Bepo, calmly: “I think they’re in love.”
You peek around the corner.
They’re in a triangle of chaos. Whisper-yelling. Flailing. Dramatic hand gestures.
You clear your throat and all three freeze.
You raise your eyebrows.
“…We were just talking about the weather” Shachi says, very seriously.
“Peanut forecast” Penguin adds.
Bepo bows slightly “I fully support you and the captain.”
You blink “We’re not even dating.”
There’s silence.
Then, in unison “YET.”
You walk off, red in the face, trying not to laugh.
You don’t see Law leaning in the next hallway, arms crossed again, listening to the whole thing.
He exhales through his nose, quietly.
Then mutters to himself “…Idiots.”
But his lips twitch. Just a little.
Law finds you on the deck in the early evening.
You're sitting on a crate, swinging your legs, watching the lights in the distance as the town starts to glow with festival lanterns.
He approaches, hands in his pockets.
“Hey” he says.
You glance up “Hey. Festival looks nice.”
He nods.
There’s a pause.
You look at him, expectant.
He shifts his weight, like he’s debating something. Then “…You wanna go?”
You blink “To the festival?”
“Yeah.” He shrugs, eyes on the horizon “Figured if I ask without writing a five-step plan first, I might not almost die.”
You snort “So this is you asking me on another date?”
He glances at you “Depends.”
“On?”
“If you say yes.”
You grin “I do.”
He exhales “Cool.”
You both try not to smile too obviously.
The festival is chaos but in the best way.
Kids dart through the crowd with candy in both hands. Music plays from a group of locals with hand drums. Lights swing overhead like constellations. There’s food everywhere.
You’re walking side-by-side, not touching, but close enough that your arms brush every now and then.
It’s comfortable.
It’s easy.
You pass a game booth, some kind of target shooting with cork guns. Law glances at it, then at you.
“You good at that?”
You shrug “Mediocre. You?”
“…Surgical.”
You grin “Prove it.”
Ten minutes later, he’s won you a stupid plush seal.
Not by being cool... no. He misses the first two shots, scowls at the gun like it insulted his ancestors, then mutters something about "cheap manufacturing" and *then* gets serious.
Tongue between his teeth. Narrowed eyes. Absolutely committed to this ridiculous task.
When he finally hits the last target, he looks so smug that you burst out laughing.
He shoves the plush into your hands “I said I’d get it.”
You’re still laughing “You’re so dramatic.”
He watches you, something soft in his eyes “…You like it though.”
You pretend to examine the seal “I mean, the craftsmanship’s a little off…”
He bumps your shoulder with his.
You both smile.
Later, you stop for shaved ice, sitting together on a low wall at the edge of the square.
You’re halfway through your dessert when Law quietly says, “This is better.”
You pause “Than what?”
He looks down at his cup “Last time. When I was trying too hard.”
You tilt your head “You were cute then, too.”
He huffs “I was malfunctioning.”
“You were. But it was cute.”
He glances at you, eyes a little narrowed “You call me cute one more time, I’ll—”
“What?” you challenge, grinning.
He leans in. Just a little.
You freeze.
“…I’ll get you a second plush” he says, flatly.
You burst out laughing.
He pulls back, lips twitching. He’s definitely not immune to how red your face is right now. And he likes it.
The sun dips lower, the festival softens. Lights blur a little more golden, music slows down, and kids start tugging tired parents toward "one last game."
You and Law are still wandering, side-by-side, when you pass a booth with a simple ball toss game, rings over bottles.
There's a kid already playing. Small. Serious. Determined.
Law stops. Watches.
The kid notices.
Their eyes lock.
You can feel the energy shift.
The kid slowly, silently, picks up another ring.
Law crosses his arms.
You look at both of them “…What is happening?”
Neither answers.
The kid tosses.
Hit.
Law steps up, drops a coin in the tray without looking away from the tiny opponent.
He tosses.
Hit.
It’s on.
The next few minutes are dead silent, deadly focused, and weirdly intense. Ring after ring. Perfect aim. Small frowns. No smiles. Just raw, quiet competition between a six-year-old and a warlord of the sea.
You’re trying so hard not to laugh you’re shaking.
Eventually the kid lands the final toss. Clean. The biggest bottle. Fireworks go off behind them (perfect timing), and they just nod like, obviously.
Law misses his last ring by a centimeter.
The kid walks over to the prize wall, selects a plush shark... huge, bright blue... and struts back to you.
Holds it out.
“For you, princess,” he says, with perfect, practiced swagger “I’m way better than him.”
You blink.
Law blinks.
The kid walks off without another word.
You look at Law.
You cackle.
Like, actual, doubled-over, wiping-your-eyes laughter.
Law is standing there in stunned silence like he just got outplayed in flirting by a child.
“Did he just—”
You nod, wheezing “He did. He called me princess. Did you hear that delivery?!”
Law glares at the shark plush like it insulted his honor.
You’re still laughing when he says, “It was rehearsed. He’s done that before.”
You lean against the booth, catching your breath “Oh my god. You should’ve done that on our first date.”
He mutters something about “not stooping to plush-based mind games” but he’s definitely not as grumpy as he pretends to be.
And when you nudge him, smiling, he just mutters “…I still won the seal.”
The walk back to the ship is quiet.
The streets behind you still glow with festival lights, but out here, closer to the shore, it’s all stars and sea breeze. A little cooler. A little slower.
You and Law walk side by side. No need to talk. No need to fill the silence.
You’re holding the dumb blue shark and the seal.
He hasn’t teased you about it since the kid incident. Maybe he knows you’d win. Or maybe he’s distracted.
You glance at him. His eyes are soft tonight, not sharp like they usually are. He’s not analyzing anything. Not overthinking. He’s just here with you.
“I had fun” you say quietly.
He nods “Yeah.”
You wait a second... “…That all you’re gonna say?”
He looks over “I didn’t almost die of embarrassment this time.”
You smile “True. Growth.”
A pause.
Then he says, voice lower “I liked being with you. Not just because it went better. Just… because it’s you.”
You stop walking.
He does too. Turns to face you fully.
The wind lifts his coat slightly. The moon lights the water behind him. His expression is unreadable for a second—then shifts.
Softer. Realer.
“I don’t really do this kind of thing,” he says “Dates. People.”
“I know.”
“But I want to try. If it’s you.”
Your heart stumbles.
You step closer “I was planning to kiss you tonight.”
His breath hitches, just a little “Oh.”
You grin “You okay with that?”
He nods once “Yeah.”
And that’s all you need.
You lean in. Your hands brush his coat. His breath catches. Then you kiss him. Slow. Steady. Warm.
He kisses you back like he’s memorizing it.
One hand rests on your waist, hesitant at first, then firmer, like he’s finally letting himself believe this is real.
When you pull back, you’re both quiet for a moment.
Then he murmurs, barely audible “…Better than a plush.”
You laugh against his chest.
He doesn’t say it, but he holds you a little tighter and that actually says everything.
It’s late, the crew mostly asleep, lights dimmed, the ocean calm. You’re in Law’s quarters now. It’s neater than you expected, but still has that lived-in look. Folders stacked in perfect piles. Books arranged by subject. A single mug half-full of cold tea.
You’re curled up on his couch. Shark plush tucked under one arm. Law’s sprawled next to you, boots off, coat hanging on the back of his desk chair.
His head’s resting against the back of the couch, eyes half-closed. He looks tired. In that good way. The kind that comes after laughter and a kiss and not needing to pretend.
You shift a little and his hand finds yours without looking.
Fingers laced. Easy.
“You’re quiet” you murmur.
“Still processing.”
You glance over “The kiss?”
“No. The shark.”
You snort “Jealous?”
He opens one eye “Of a six-year-old with good aim and terrifying confidence? …Yes.”
You laugh, soft and warm.
Law’s watching you now, really watching you, and this time there’s no hesitation. No second-guessing.
He reaches up and brushes a thumb over your cheekbone. Slow. Gentle. Familiar now.
“I meant what I said,” he murmurs “I want this.”
You nod “Me too.”
He shifts closer “You staying?”
You lean your head against his shoulder “Unless you kick me out.”
“…I’d operate the door shut before I let that happen.”
You smile into his shirt.
The next morning you wake up warm.
Wrapped in a blanket, shark plush tucked under your arm, head resting on something solid. And breathing.
You blink.
It’s Law’s chest.
His coat is draped over both of you like some makeshift shield. One of his hands is still loosely around your waist. The other is on his face, like he's already regretting waking up.
You smile.
“Morning” you whisper.
He groans into his palm “No.”
Then there’s a knock... or more like a bang.
“CAPTAIN!”
Law tenses.
You sit up, hair everywhere, still holding the plushes like a shield.
“Captain, are you—” Penguin bursts in and freezes.
Shachi appears behind him, sees the situation, and gasps like someone got stabbed.
Bepo peeks in last. Quietly says, “Told you they were in love.”
Law is already covering his face again.
Penguin: “Are these TWO cute plushes?!”
Shachi: “DID YOU SLEEP IN THE SAME ROOM?!”
Bepo, sincerely: “Did you cuddle?”
You blink at them.
Law doesn’t move.
You clear your throat “Morning.”
Shachi leans in “Good morning to you, power couple.”
Penguin: “So? You guys kiss last night? You kiss? You totally kissed, right?”
Law finally lifts his head.
Dead-eyed. Voice flat.
“Out. Now.”
The crew flees like rats.
You’re left half-laughing, half-horrified.
Law exhales deeply “I should’ve locked the door.”
You lean against him again “I think it’s cute.”
He stares at you like you’ve said something illegal.
You grin, plush squished between you.
“You’re really soft when you sleep, y’know.”
He closes his eyes “I’m moving out.”

Angel Talk
Kenma x GN!Reader | drabble + author’s note utc
Kenma who doesn’t swear around you, his words as pure as hymns sung by angels when he takes you on dates.
You decide to stop by his house to surprise with baked goods but you stop dead in your tracks halfway in his doorway because you hear him shout “Fuck!” like all hell had broke loose.
He turns to you like a deer in headlights as you walk closer and leave the box of pastries on his desk. You kiss his cheek and he begins struggle and stutter getting his words out.
“D-did you have trouble g-getting here h-hon..?”
“Mmm.. No.”
Kenma’s palms are sweaty and thank god the game was over, but the poor guy had just lost his rank up game. You could hear laughter from his headset bleed out and your boyfriend’s face getting red.
“Is Kenma all quiet because his parter is here??”
“Lev, hush it.”
“He can’t even tell me to shut the fuck up!”
The howling laughter bleeds through once more before Kenma mutes himself and puts down his headset to look at you.
“Didn’t know you had a foul mouth, Ken. You spoke like an angel to me.”
He groans with a guilty look on his face,
“I only speak like an angel to angels.”

the jjk men reaction to their wife without their wedding ring ?
Gojo satoru — Gojo Satoru strolled into the living room, humming a cheerful tune as he casually twirled his sunglasses between his fingers. It was a rare moment of downtime for both of you, and he had been looking forward to lounging around with his beloved wife. His sharp eyes, however, immediately zeroed in on you, sprawled out on the couch with your phone in one hand and your other hand resting lazily on the armrest.
At first, he didn’t notice it. But as his gaze lingered—because, honestly, you looked stunning even in sweatpants—it hit him. Something was… missing.
His blue eyes narrowed slightly, and the grin on his face turned into a playful smirk. He crossed the room and plopped down dramatically next to you, making the couch shift slightly.
“Darling,” he began in a tone dripping with mock severity, leaning closer to you as if he had discovered the secret to the universe.
You glanced up briefly, raising an eyebrow. “Hmm?”
He didn’t answer right away. Instead, he reached for your left hand, gently lifting it as if it were a delicate artifact. He examined it closely, turning it this way and that. That’s when he saw it. Or rather, didn’t see it.
“Oh. My. God.” he gasped, clutching your hand with both of his. “Where is it? Where’s the ring? Our ring?” His voice escalated into a melodramatic pitch, and he looked at you as though you’d just committed the ultimate betrayal.
You blinked at him, utterly unbothered. “I took it off while I was washing the dishes earlier. I forgot to put it back on. Relax, Gojo.”
But Gojo wasn’t about to let it go. He sprang to his feet, one hand pressed to his chest as if your words had physically wounded him. “Forgot? You forgot the symbol of our eternal, unbreakable love?” He pointed dramatically at your bare ring finger. “Do you know what this says to the world? That I, Gojo Satoru, am unclaimed! Unwanted! A free agent!”
You rolled your eyes, fighting back a smile. “Satoru, nobody in the world thinks you’re unclaimed. You’re too loud for that.”
But he wasn’t listening. He began pacing back and forth in front of you, gesturing wildly. “Do you realize how many people out there are just waiting for a moment like this? They’ll think I’m single! Do you want people throwing themselves at me?” He spun around, his eyes wide with mock horror. “What if Nanami hears about this? Or worse, Gojo’s fan club?!”
That finally got a laugh out of you. “You have a fan club?”
“Of course I do,” he said, puffing his chest out. “I’m Gojo Satoru. But that’s not the point!” He dropped back onto the couch beside you, leaning in close so that his face was mere inches from yours. His eyes, bright and intense as always, locked onto yours. “The point is, you, my dearest, most beautiful wife, have forgotten our sacred bond. And I, as your loving husband, must now remind you why you married me.”
Before you could protest, he scooped you up in his arms as if you weighed nothing. You let out a startled yelp, laughing despite yourself. “Satoru, what are you doing?”
“I’m making sure you never forget again,” he said with a grin that could melt anyone’s heart.
He spun you around once, his laughter mingling with yours. You tried to wriggle out of his grasp, but he held you firm, his warm hands steady and strong.
“Put me down, you lunatic!”
“Not until you swear to never, ever leave your wedding ring behind again,” he said, his voice playful but with a hint of mock sternness.
“Okay, fine!” you managed between laughs. “I swear! I won’t forget again!”
Satisfied, he set you back down on the couch, but not before brushing a stray strand of hair out of your face and planting a soft kiss on your forehead.
“Good,” he said, his tone shifting to that softer, more genuine one he reserved just for you. He sat back, crossing his arms as if he’d just won an important battle. “By the way,” he added, smirking, “your wedding ring is on the counter by the sink. You’re welcome.”
You groaned, throwing a pillow at him. “You knew this whole time and still made a scene?”
“Of course I did,” he said, catching the pillow effortlessly and flashing you a smug grin. “What kind of husband would I be if I didn’t take every opportunity to shower my wife with attention?”
You rolled your eyes again, but the warmth spreading in your chest betrayed how much you adored him—dramatics and all.
Geto Suguru — It was late in the afternoon, the golden light from the setting sun spilling through the windows of your quiet home. You were seated at the kitchen table, sipping tea while flipping through a book. The peaceful silence was interrupted by the soft sound of Suguru’s footsteps as he entered the room, his long, dark hair tied loosely behind him, and his expression calm as always.
“Hmm,” he hummed as his sharp eyes immediately noticed you. His lips curved into a faint smile. “There you are.”
“Here I am,” you replied with a playful grin, not looking up from your book
He walked over to you and placed a gentle hand on your shoulder, leaning down to press a soft kiss to the top of your head. Everything about Suguru exuded calm, but there was something sharp about his gaze as he straightened, his attention drawn to your left hand resting on the table.
“Where’s your ring?” he asked, his tone casual but with a slight edge of curiosity.
You blinked, glancing at your hand. “Oh,” you said, realizing the absence of the small band. “I took it off earlier while I was washing the dishes. I must’ve forgotten to put it back on.”
Suguru’s expression didn’t change much, but there was a faint flicker of something in his dark eyes—amusement, perhaps. He moved to the chair across from you and sat down, resting his chin on his hand as he regarded you.
“Forgotten, hm?” he murmured, his voice low and smooth.
You tilted your head, sensing the subtle shift in his mood. “It’s not a big deal, Suguru,” you said, brushing it off.
His smile widened ever so slightly, though there was a teasing glint in his eyes. “Not a big deal? My wife walking around without a ring, making it look like she’s unmarried? How scandalous.”
You snorted, closing your book and setting it aside. “Oh, please. Nobody is going to think I’m unmarried, Suguru.”
“Hmm,” he hummed again, his gaze locking with yours. “Perhaps not. But it’s the principle, isn’t it?” He reached across the table, taking your hand in his. His thumb brushed over your bare ring finger in slow, deliberate strokes. “This little band means something, doesn’t it? A reminder of the vows we made.”
You rolled your eyes, though his touch was warm and soothing. “You’re being dramatic.”
“Maybe,” he said, his tone still even, though the faint smile on his lips betrayed his amusement. “But I quite like seeing you wear it. It suits you.”
“Well, it’s sitting on the counter,” you admitted. “I just forgot to put it back on.”
Suguru sighed softly, standing up from his chair and walking to the kitchen counter. He picked up your ring, holding it delicately between his fingers before turning back to you. His movements were always deliberate, almost graceful, as he returned to your side and crouched down next to you.
“Hold out your hand,” he said, his voice gentle but firm.
You quirked an eyebrow at him but complied, holding out your hand. Suguru took it carefully, his fingers warm against yours.
“You know,” he began as he slipped the ring back onto your finger, “this little thing is more than just a piece of metal. It’s a claim, a promise, and a reminder of the fact that you belong to me, just as I belong to you.”
His words were soft but carried a weight that sent a shiver down your spine. When the ring was back in its rightful place, Suguru raised your hand to his lips, pressing a lingering kiss to your knuckles
“There,” he murmured. “That’s better.”
You shook your head, your cheeks warm. “You’re ridiculous, you know that?”
“Maybe,” he said with a smirk, standing back up to his full height. “But I’m your ridiculous.”
You rolled your eyes, but the warmth in your chest betrayed how much his little gestures meant to you. Suguru wasn’t always loud in his affections, but moments like this reminded you of just how deeply he cared for you—and how much he loved to remind you of it.
Nanami kento — The quiet hum of the apartment greeted Nanami as he stepped inside, his shoulders relaxing ever so slightly now that he was home. He loosened his tie as he glanced around, his sharp eyes immediately landing on you sitting at the dining table, your laptop open and a mug of tea beside you.
“Welcome home,” you said, looking up with a smile.
“Good evening,” he replied, his voice calm and steady as always. He moved toward you, setting his briefcase down with practiced precision before leaning in to kiss your temple. “Busy day?”
“Not really,” you said, leaning back in your chair. “I spent most of it cleaning and catching up on emails.”
Nanami nodded, his gaze briefly scanning the room before settling on you. As you reached for your mug, his brow furrowed slightly.
“Where’s your ring?” he asked suddenly, his tone even but with a hint of curiosity.
You froze for a moment, glancing at your hand. Your wedding ring was missing from its usual place, and you let out a small laugh as you realized. “Oh, I took it off earlier when I was cleaning. I guess I forgot to put it back on.”
Nanami’s expression remained calm, but you noticed the slight tightening of his jaw. He pulled out the chair across from you and sat down, resting his hands on the table.
“I see,” he said quietly, his gaze dropping to your hand again.
You tilted your head, sensing his hesitation. “It’s not a big deal, Kento,” you said lightly. “I’ll go grab it in a second.”
He sighed softly, his eyes meeting yours. “It’s not that I doubt you,” he said, his voice calm but carrying a subtle weight. “It’s just… that ring isn’t just an accessory to me.”
You raised an eyebrow, intrigued. “Oh?”
Nanami reached across the table, gently taking your hand in his. His thumb brushed over the bare spot where your ring should have been. “It’s a symbol,” he said after a moment. “Of us. Of everything we’ve chosen to share. When I see it on your finger, it’s a quiet reassurance that, no matter how chaotic things get, we have something solid.”
His words hung in the air, and you felt a pang of guilt mixed with affection. Nanami wasn’t one to dramatize things, but his quiet honesty carried more weight than anything else ever could
“I didn’t mean to worry you,” you said softly, giving his hand a gentle squeeze.
“I’m not worried,” he replied, shaking his head slightly. “I know where we stand. But… seeing it missing felt strange. Like something wasn’t quite right.”
Your lips curved into a warm smile. “You’re such a sentimentalist, you know that?”
He exhaled through his nose, his expression softening as he gave you a faint smile. “I’d argue I’m just practical. But if it makes me a sentimentalist to care about something that reminds me of you, then so be it.”
You chuckled, standing up and leaning down to kiss his cheek. “I’ll go grab it now. I don’t want you to feel off balance.”
As you walked to the kitchen to retrieve your ring from the small dish by the sink, you couldn’t help but feel touched by how deeply he cared about even the smallest details.
When you returned, the ring back on your finger, Nanami’s eyes immediately dropped to your hand. He gave a small, approving nod and reached for your hand again.
“Much better,” he murmured, his thumb brushing over the ring.
You sat down beside him this time, leaning into his solid presence. “You know, Kento, you’re a lot more romantic than you like to admit.”
He huffed softly, his lips curving into the faintest smirk. “I’ll take that as a compliment,” he said, resting his hand over yours.
Toji fushiguro— The heavy thud of boots echoed through the entryway as Toji walked into the house, his presence impossible to miss. You looked up from the couch where you were scrolling on your phone, catching the sharp glint of his green eyes as he shrugged off his jacket and tossed it over a nearby chair.
“Hey, you’re back early,” you said with a smile, sitting up as he crossed the room toward you.
He gave a small grunt of acknowledgment, his version of a greeting, before plopping down beside you. “Work wrapped up faster than I thought,” he said, leaning back and stretching an arm over the back of the couch.
As he settled in, his eyes flicked toward you, and they instinctively scanned over you with the same sharpness he applied to everything. They lingered on your hand for a beat longer than usual.
“Where’s your ring?” he asked, his tone casual but with an edge of curiosity.
You blinked, looking down at your bare finger. “Oh,” you said lightly, “I took it off earlier while I was washing dishes. I guess I forgot to put it back on.”
Toji raised an eyebrow, his lips curling into a sly smirk. “Forgot, huh?”
You rolled your eyes, already sensing where this was going. “Don’t start,” you said, crossing your arms. “It’s not like I lost it or anything. It’s on the counter by the sink.”
“Mm,” he hummed, leaning forward slightly, his elbows resting on his knees as he looked at you with that unreadable expression of his. “Funny. I didn’t think you’d be the type to forget something like that.”
You huffed, narrowing your eyes at him. “It’s just a ring, Toji. Don’t make it a big deal.”
“Just a ring?” he repeated, his tone laced with amusement. He leaned back again, draping an arm across your shoulders. “That’s not what you said when I gave it to you.”
You felt your cheeks heat up at the memory. Toji wasn’t exactly the sentimental type, so when he had proposed—ring and all—it had been one of the rare moments where he let his guard down. The ring symbolized more than just a commitment; it was his way of showing you that you were the one person he trusted enough to hold onto.
“Okay, fine,” you muttered, avoiding his gaze. “It’s not ‘just a ring.’ Happy now?”
Toji chuckled, his deep voice rumbling through the room. “Damn right I’m happy. You’re lucky I’m not one of those guys who gets all pissy about this stuff.”
“You literally just called me out for it,” you shot back, giving him a playful glare.
“Yeah, but I didn’t yell about it,” he said, smirking as he reached for your hand. He turned it over, his calloused fingers brushing against your bare finger. “Guess I just like seeing it on you, that’s all.”
The sincerity in his voice caught you off guard. Toji wasn’t one for flowery words or grand romantic gestures, but when he said things like this, it was impossible not to feel the depth of his emotions.
You softened, resting your other hand over his. “I didn’t mean to make you feel weird about it,” you said. “I’ll go grab it right now.”
As you stood up to retrieve your ring, Toji leaned back and watched you with a lazy grin. “Don’t keep me waiting, princess. Gotta make sure everyone knows you’re mine.”
You shot him a look over your shoulder, but there was no real annoyance behind it. When you returned with the ring on your finger, Toji reached for your hand again, his thumb brushing over the metal as his grin widened.
“Now that’s more like it,” he said, tugging you back onto the couch beside him.
“You’re ridiculous,” you muttered, though you couldn’t help but smile.
“And you love it,” he replied easily, pulling you closer until you were leaning against his chest.
Sukuna ryomen — The air was heavy with the scent of incense and sakura blossoms, the grand halls of Sukuna’s domain illuminated by the flickering light of oil lamps. You sat on a low, ornate platform, your fingers absently tracing patterns on a delicate porcelain cup as you waited for Sukuna to return.
The sound of his footsteps was unmistakable, his commanding presence preceding him. When he stepped into the room, his twin sets of eyes found you immediately, piercing and intense. Dressed in his ceremonial robes, Sukuna looked every bit the fearsome king he was rumored to be, his aura suffocating yet magnetic.
“Wife,” he greeted in a low, resonant voice that sent a shiver down your spine. “What mischief have you been up to today?”
You smiled, setting down your cup as he approached. “Nothing that would trouble the great Ryomen Sukuna,” you teased, tilting your head to look up at him.
He chuckled darkly, the sound laced with amusement and menace. “Good. I’ve had enough annoyances for one day.”
As he lowered himself to sit beside you, his gaze swept over you, sharp and all-seeing. His attention lingered on your left hand, resting idly in your lap. His expression darkened instantly, a storm brewing in his crimson eyes.
“Where is it?” he demanded, his tone suddenly sharp.
You blinked, confused. “Where is what?”
“Your ring,” he said coldly, his jaw tightening as his eyes bore into yours. “The one I placed on your finger. The one that marks you as mine.”
Realization dawned, and you glanced down at your bare hand. “Oh,” you said lightly. “I removed it while preparing the tea earlier. I didn’t want it to get dirty.”
Sukuna’s expression didn’t soften. If anything, it grew more severe. “And you thought it wise to leave yourself unmarked?”
You frowned, sitting up straighter. “It’s just a ring, Sukuna. It’s not as though I’ve forgotten what it means.”
“Just a ring?” he repeated, his voice a low, dangerous growl. He leaned closer, his four eyes narrowing as his hand shot out to grab your chin, tilting your face up to meet his gaze. “You insult me with such carelessness.”
You held his gaze, refusing to flinch under the weight of his presence. “It was not meant as an insult,” you said firmly. “I was thinking practically. Surely you don’t think a piece of metal is the only proof of my loyalty to you.”
Sukuna’s lips curled into a wicked grin, though his eyes still burned with displeasure. “No, but it is a visible declaration. One that tells the world you belong to me. You will not cast it aside so lightly again.”
You sighed, reaching up to rest your hand over his. “It was not my intention to ‘cast it aside,’ as you put it. But if it matters so much to you, I will retrieve it immediately.”
“Do that,” he said, releasing your chin with a flick of his wrist. “And do not make me repeat myself on this matter.”
You rose gracefully, moving toward the chamber where you had set the ring aside. Sukuna’s gaze followed you, his eyes dark and watchful, though you could sense the simmering satisfaction beneath his displeasure.
When you returned, the ring once again adorning your finger, Sukuna reached out and caught your wrist, pulling you closer. He inspected the ring as though ensuring it hadn’t been damaged in your absence.
“Better,” he murmured, his thumb brushing over the metal. He glanced up at you, his expression softening slightly—though his grin retained its edge. “Do not forget, wife. You are mine. Always.”
You smirked, leaning down so your face was close to his. “And you are mine, Ryomen Sukuna. Do not forget that either.”
He laughed, a deep, reverberating sound that filled the room. “Bold as ever,” he said, his voice dripping with approval. “Perhaps that’s why I tolerate you.”
