ok so like. i don't know how to explain this to fandom, and this is really going to just fry the heads of 75% of the con crowd but

You realize like... all the changes, ALL of them, big and small, are the beginning of larger changes. Not only were J2 M&Gs diminishing returns (once, a J2 meet actually sold lower than a Jensen solo at the same con, so um.), they were slowly being divided in name. J2>J&J>jensen and jared, now I think even being like fullnamed between each other on greet listings.

The two's autos dropped down from being gold exclusive. Jared's been reaching out to other cons closer to demographics he's actually after. The new kids have mentioned starting cons soon. And where praytell do you imagine the time/space for them with our current setup?

Yeah, like. In the near future, the days of J2 gold may end. Or stay vestigial in name only while greatly devalued as autos can be gotten generally and J2M do a variety of cons that make them all accessible.

Now, for The Winchesters, Jensen is arguably, you know, still pretty relevant, and Misha will be too. And it's not like they're gonna kick Jared OUT of cons, Sam has a role too. But it's uh, it's J2M's turn to be con B tier, guys.

And that's fine. Like Jensen's busy af. Him doing an occasional weekend panel that's cool. And I'm sure when he's around he'd love to panel crash some of the new kids as their Dad(TM).

But that's just it guys. It's gonna be the new kids. Jared could kind of import his stuff to CE cons because of the J2 package roll, and you can even kinda work that out for a bit longer when the show ended, but it's not CBS CE has a contract with. It was Supernatural cons they propped up on a stick during offseason and turned into Supernatural And Friends.

So like. A lot of them greets are just. Gonna rotate. And yeah content wise you may even get a rare cockles panel or greet when the complex scheduling stars align etc, but it's not gonna be ABOUT any of them anymore. It's ABOUT putting those old roles to rest. Yeah they're still here with us but now it's these new kids for the new age to let this new show breathe instead of a bunch of bitchy people pretending they like it depending on the thermometer about a topic in their local friend group and whatever backhanded assholes are stuck in gayle's doxxy threatening ass pipeline to 2po. Like. Bye. They don't WANT you.

But they're too busy trying to show exactly why and how they're toxic, saying no one should listen to the creatives to check into the truth, demanding someone prove it to them now rather than them calmly waiting for the finale like most of the rest of us. Like. Yeah. That. Exactly that. That's why J2M know they mostly have to Get Out Of The Way. All of them, to be honest. They can be B line, but Starting Soon At A Con Near You, there's a whole other crew that get to be the stars now.

And that's okay, and natural, and something all of them, Jensen especially, get to be super proud of, so I do hope people can be grown ups, act their age like the aging-up network demo is telling them to do, and actually do this with grace as these new young actors spread their wings, several with very little previous exposure. It's their time. The guys are gonna be proud dads. So even if you don't LIKE the show or whatever. At least be proud as a fandom parent. Like it might not be your cuppa at the end or whatever, but everyone kinda got it there, now let new kids have fun.

I think that's gonna be the hardest for many socialites.

Letting go of those rings and that... well everything about the current core con crowd, really. Over the next year, most things they know are going to evaporate. Gish? Nah gish is just part of it yall; Misha's life expedited it, no doubt, but no reason to fight that battle. It's their time to have cons and change the world. I've definitely noticed a shift in the culture of the fandom since the finale. I had a hard enough time keeping my small circle of positive, fun blogs on my dash before the finale, but now it just seems like everyone's gone and I just can't take the new trends. All I want to do is get excited over Cockles and celebrate seeing our faves, but even the side of fandom I loved is just . . . So negative. I don't like the tone of newer/younger fans, finale negativity still dominates so many longer-standing blogs, or they're just gone. IDK, sorry to bring this to you, but I guess I'm just feeling sad. It's not a gatekeeper thing for me, I just really don't enjoy how the newbies do fandom, any fandom. I think I'm moving on and it kinda hurts.

nah it's okay *hug*. it does feel weird. and i think it feels weirder now because we don't have any new content to flutter over other than in person cons starting back up. though, hopefully, this prequel thing and a continuation are racing toward us lol.

i don't understand the trends either, i don't get the lingo, i don't get the dynamics. i don't consider myself part of a desticule, etc etc. though i think the one trend i got into was the fimmf thing because it's a nice excuse to thirst over pictures xD

i'm sorry you're feeling like this. <3 i feel like 1518 was a double edged sword. great in some aspects, but it also brought back old bitter fans who stuck around after the finale, or newer fans — which, i'm not going to complain about the fandom still being alive, however it's just exhausting sometimes.

if anything, i've noticed some newbies kinda already moving on which is kind of nice. like, sometimes they would "joke" but they really aren't jokes, just harmful things, and i'd feel my blood boil. it's unfair, i feel like, to the older fans who have maintained this fandom for so long to feel like someone's coming in and kicking everything around and saying 'that's just the way it is deal with it'.

if the energy creates moments like at the DenCon J2 panel where someone got that confidence and big ass balls to ask a destiel question during it and was met, at first, with a very serious answer, i think that's in everyone's best interest and i'm down for that. but painting the actors as anything than what they are, the casual homophbia or queerphobic jokes, the leap to anger with con stuff — it is exhausting.

i will say though sometimes there are older fans who are also problematic though thankfully i feel like a lot of them left, or not as many eyes are on them anymore. there's some kind of middle ground here! somewhere lol.

I just watched the cockles panel as well and all I see is much ado about nothing. again. do people ever get tired of creating drama about literally anything ever?

I thought jensen's never keep fighting joke wasn't particularly funny, but it's also obvious he was just playing off and continuing what misha started and not being intentionally malicious. I'm not bothered by it at all, and I say that as someone who's been struggling with depression for most of my life.

(also I can think of so many much, much worse jokes that both jared and jensen have made over the years, but since it was usually jared making them or at least being involved in them, these people will gladly ignore those or excuse them, but the moment jensen makes even a slightly off-color remark! omg how dare he! so insensitive! #eyeroll)

and I actually also thought his sarcastic comments/jokes about people not liking TW were really funny. I like that he can joke about all the negativity like that.

all in all I thought it was an enjoyable panel, even with misha being there. I can't even be mad at misha's presence because misha has provided me with so much entertainment this weekend (and will continue to do so if the rumors that he's trying to figure out how to fix his mess are true. if misha's forced to "come out" as straight now, after everything that's been going on for so long... well I probably won't stop laughing for a week. )

Again, I count Misha as a special case because he's been so consistent for so long making the same kinds of intentionally bait-y comments no matter how much harassment it has resulted in to those around him.

Otherwise, though? I really don't get that fussed about the actors saying something fans find awkward. Especially when it's something like this or the Richard Speight thing last time, when I have a hard time seeing it as anything more than paranoid over-sensitivity to the merest possibility of insult by stans on a self-appointed mission to protect their fave from their own friends. Or fans feeling comfortable about dishing out insults on how much Jensen must not know/care about SPN/be desperate to hijack or cash in but getting the vapors over him sarcastically sending the negativity back. Nothing he's said about the prequel has appealed to me, and I have serious questions as to whether he has the understanding of storytelling needed to actually be involved in creating a story from scratch rather than just acting out one already written. I still thought that was funny. Or stans insisting with all the fervor of a heller that he's totes pandering by repeating what he's already said, that he taped Misha's goodbye and that Cas was important to the brothers. Some people really don't get that the audience these cons are for are the GA, who are not bogged down in and therefore filtering literally everything through all the shipwar bullshit baggage.

I also don't buy into the stan trap of "it's been x days/months/years since my fave last fucked up, they're ~*better*~ now". Nah, you slap somebody up on a pedestal and they're gonna fall off, it's just a matter of when.

Hey anon! Welcome! Just so you know, I don't post that much spn because it's really toxic and not good for me... but you will see some of it on my blog.

Gonna break this up into questions.

Did you used to think Harry and Xander were dating?

Yes. Yes, I did. I said I was here for "whatever was going on," but what I meant was "THEY'RE DATING THEY'RE DATING THEY'RE DATING I'm not going to say it because they haven't but THEY'RE TOTALLY DATING" 2015 was a rough time, and also the best time. I felt ALIVE and ON TOP OF THE WORLD but also I was SUPREMELY miserable and afraid.. I let Xander and Harry's supposed relationship act as a stand in for happiness. When the snapchat fiasco happened, I was extremely upset in a couple different ways. I was upset because the person responsible had lied to Xander and attempted to blackmail him.... Which was really gross and shitty. I was also upset because... If xarry wasn't real, what was? I had myself so wrapped up in the fantasy world where I knew exactly what was going on between them, that to be punched in the face with a reminder that I didn't actually know them or what was happening between them..... hurt. And that's why I used them in my cockles post last night... Because I know that's happening for a lot of cockles tinhats rn and I know that it is.... undoubtedly..... Hard. And Hurtful. The loss of confidence in your tinhat ship can be a very profound loss.

Do you think they could have dated or nah?

Yes. For years, my headcanon for them was on-again-off-again long term fuckbuddies/boyfriends with the most serious part of their relationship in 2015-2016. I still find that plausible. I also find it plausible they're just friends and always were. I used to look at things like the birthday cake and the playing lacrosse on stage and "I'm here for Xander Ritz" "Me too" as undeniable evidence there was something not platonic. Now, I see these things as evidence of love, regardless of platonic/non platonic status.

So yeah, I think they could have dated. They also could have not.

That said, no matter what happened and happens, the fact that they've been in each other's lives for 8 years and seem to be going nowhere is adorable. I love their relationship as a friendship, and I love it as less platonic too.

Did you ship destiel?

lmao anon this is a really complicated question. Yes, I shipped destiel. However, it was always with the caveat that Cas not treat Dean like an enemy or someone so unhinged they were not to be trusted. Cas lying to Dean and not trusting Dean for the sake of it is his worst and most toxic quality, and my shipping of destiel was always Dean-centric. I wanted Cas to be better for him. Ultimately, the writers after Sera Gamble had other plans (Gamble gave him the most beautiful redemption arc at the end of season 7 with all that character growth that came with Crazy!Cas. She is iconic and all other showrunners - including Kripke - suck in comparison). I stopped shipping destiel in season 9 when the whole show was much more of a fight between Sam and Dean. At that point, I didn't give a flying fucking shit what happened with ships, I just wanted Sam to hurt.

I find destiel to be the second worst and toxic ship in spn, second to wincest. And yes, that means I think that John and Mary were less toxic than Dean and Cas. I don't apologize. Cas is an ass who is abusive and likes to hold power over Dean. This is so clearly shown in all the seasons, but most clearly, I think, in season 15. The most "destiel" of seasons is also the season where Cas is the nastiest and cruelest to Dean. This is able to be the case because destiel was never about DEAN and Cas, it was about CAS and Cas only. This is true of the writing staff's opinion of destiel as seen in the narrative structure of the show AND the fandom's opinion of destiel as seen in fannon. Dean is an object in the equation of destiel, not an active participant. And to that I say FUCK destiel.

So yes I did, but always with the caveat that Cas needs to be better to Dean, and then I stopped when that wasn't going to be the case.

Getting a text in the morning before Graham has even had his first brew for the day is enough to sour his mood, but getting a text requesting urgent help means he'll have to put his annoyance aside for the moment. Dan rarely asked for help, he's a competent man after all, so this is worrying. He's running through every scenario that could've happened to his friend.

Has he been mugged?

Graham huffs out a sigh and shakes his head, pushing all those thoughts aside. It's not that, it's just something simple, yeah, simple, he decides the moment he lays eyes on Dan's white van parked outside his rented flat.

Seriously, he didn't have to move to Sheffield to be part of their little unit, but he did. Ryan and Yaz have been prodding him about it, asking what he thinks. What is he meant to think? They're friends, good friends; Dan is a nice, funny man, and he's someone Graham loves spending time with; what is there to think about?

Luckily, Dan slipped Graham a key for special occasions; well, that's what he said anyway; still, he's glad he has that key now; this will make this so much easier.

"Dan, mate?" Graham calls out the moment he's through the door. "You all right, cockle?" There's a muffled response, and Graham's frowns in the direction it came from. "I'm coming, okay?"

The muffled voice gets louder and louder until he can make out what Dan is saying.

"Graham, that yous?"

Graham rolls his eyes. "Do you know any other cockneys?"

"I can go back home and have my cuppa considering that this probably isn't a life or death situation-" Graham trails away the moment he steps into the bathroom. "Doing what?" Graham snorts, not even trying to cover his snickering.

Dan angles his head to look Graham in the eye. "There was a bleeding spider 'bove the bog, thought I'd get the fucker, but I weren't gonna kill it, tried gettin' it with a' glass, but could only stand on the bloody toilet, well I got the shit, but then I slipped, and me foot fell into the bowl n' got stuck."

Graham slow blinks at Dan. "How's the spider?"

"Shut up, and help me, you prick-" Dan snaps. "-I've been here for a while now-"

"Fine," Graham sighs.

It takes a while, but sure enough, Graham got Dan's foot from the toilet. It's now resting on the coffee table in his living room with a bag of peas draped over it.

Graham feels bad for laughing in the beginning; the sight of Dan wincing made him feel guilty. Maybe that's why he's made him a brew and got a plate of biccies ready for the pair of them. At least Dan seems content for the most part now.

"Hey," Dan glances towards Graham. "Cheers for the helpin' hand, mate, didn't know what else to do, ya know?"

Graham shrugs. "That's what friends do."

Dan looks away quickly. "Yeah, friends."

Graham's head tilts to the side because that's not the first time Dan has looked away quickly with a pained expression written across his face. "Dan?"

"Yeah?"

"Something's wrong," Graham states with a concerned frown. "Have I done something?"

Dan snaps his head back to Graham again, eyes widened. "No, god, no, you haven't done 'nout, it's me and me alone."

"What's you?"

"If I say, it'll just make it awkward between us 'cos it's obvious you don't feel the same way as I do, no matter how much Ryan 'n Yaz said you're just dense-" Graham brows furrow. "-Graham, mate," Dan begins, taking a breath to steady himself. "I like you, and before you say anything, when I say like, I mean, like-"

"Oh."

"Yeah, see-"

Graham shakes his head in response. "Nah, just you hold on for a second," He states. "You like me, as in-" He makes an awkward kissing motion with his hands, and Dan nods to confirm. "-right, uh-" His head tilts, and he observes Dan. "-I mean, well, look, I said we were friends, right? That's 'cos I thought we were, but like, I'd be lying if I said I didn't check out the goods when we first met 'n all-"

"What?"

Graham shrugs now. "Hey, you came out of that river, jeans tight against your ass; where else was my bi ass meant to look? At the Doc? Disgusting."

"Hold on, are you saying that you like me back?"

"Well, yes and no, it's something I gotta think about, but-" He smirks slightly. "-it's definitely something I can considering."

HOW TO KNOW YOU ARE DEALING WITH A HELLER AND NOT A DESTIEL SHIPPER

There are a few tell tale signs you are dealing with a heller and not a destiel shipper.  They all seem to be cut from the same cloth.  No originality in how they engage others but their deviousness is unique and changes from heller to heller.  @officerhaughtismygirlfriend is a repulsive creature from the UK and yet she speaks exactly like the hellers from the US.  Crassness and vulgarity have no boundaries.  So what is a heller?

A heller will insist that Dean is bisexual, or in the special case of @officerhaughtismygirlfriend, gay.  In fact one of her tags is ''Jensen can't hide Dean's gay''.  So essentially she doesn't respect Jensen's take on his own character.  Par for the course with a heller.

A heller will tag everyone and everything under the sun, and despite ten years of being told continuously to respect other SPN fans and tag courteously, they don't care.  They always counter with ''but it's not like we are hurting anyone.  We are just having fun''.  So am I, honey.  I am having a ball of a time in the main tags. 

They will try to make themselves look like the ethical and moral ones in the fandom when, even though laughingly, they are actually the worst people you would ever encounter, they stan the worst excuse for an E-list celebrity ever and then they have to audacity to balk when you see fault in the weasel.  They will use words like ''I am sorry for whoever hurt you'' [I got that one]  ''Just remember you are spreading hate when love is so much more rewarding''.  Very flowery, hypocritical words. 

If they have a flimsy argument, and they know it, they always fall back on what they consider their failsafe standby:  ''Just kidding''  ''Cant you take a joke'' ''Misha is just joking'' ''Misha is just being sarcastic''.  No, we don't believe that.  You are not kidding.  Neither is Misha.  He is just pandering to the most gullible subsection of the fandom because its not like he has sex appeal or talent to keep him relevant.   

Deify Misha and are shocked if anyone says anything critical about his repugnant and repulsive character, especially when it stands out as a stark contract to Jared and Jensen's characters which are loved by the two million viewers who tune it to watch J2 every week as opposed to the 8000 who masturbate to Misha's ugly and average looking face. 

Another standby for them is to go into victim mode and say that they are being attacked for loving and caring and spreading joy or some greeting card nonsense, when they attack Jensen for playing his character straight.  He was straight from the get go.  14 years later, he is not going to change because you have an issue with it.  Grow up. 

They ship shame.  They don't attack sastiel because their ugly overlord is half of the ship.  They don't attack sabriel because the trickster keeps Sam out of their way.  But wincest gets a beating from them.  And yet, Jensen likes wincest shippers.  He shot down destiel, perhaps because destiel fans and Misha are disgusting to him.  Notice how he never sits next to Misha unless he has to.  Notice how he is absolutely happy doing only one con panel with Misha per year.  And yet to the deluded nuts out there, ''destiel is cockles fault''.  Cockles is a more laughable notion than destiel.

Some really special snowflakes, like this one, claims that she received death threats from non-destiel fans.  And yet she didn't show me any receipts, however, she squeezed out a smelly turd in my private message box, complete with smiley faces.  One heller told me she didn't approve of me naming her publically because ''what if I get death threats''.  I told her to forward them to me so I can publically shame them.  She never replied about it, because she didn't receive any death threats.  She however, did say Jared purposefully cracked her ribs by hugging her too hard.  Purposefully.  Hellers are liars.  P.S.  don't send me any anon threats as proof.  You people are consistent liars so I wont believe it. 

Be prepared for all the ill placed smiley faces that don't fit into the context and tone of what the heller is saying.  They use smiley faces in the hopes to weaken your resolve by giving the impression that your criticism did not affect them.  They are, as I have noticed, usually very affected.  My resolve wont weaken especially since I can confirm that Supernatural lurks around Tumblr, and if my post ends up on search engine results, then I am happy.  Don't ask me how I know, because hellers will bombard them with ''make destiel canon'' nonsense.    

Destiel fans, to reiterate point number 8, never ever provide proof of anything.  Take for example @destielshipper2017 who claimed I lied about Misha but backed off when she realized when she didn't have any proof as to how I lied.  Hellers are feared for their mob mentality, not because they are right.     

They will have Sam/Jared in their profile name and profile picture, which will lead any fool to believe that they are Sam and Jared fans.  But they are not.  Haught actually claims that Sam is her ''second favorite''.  Really, and yet you devalue his presence in a scene just to make place for your mucus-covered icky little canoe that you mistook for a ship.  Compared to destiel, wincest is a massive luxury passenger liner with a large emblem on it reading ''APPROVED BY JENSEN ACKLES AND JARED PADADECKI''...... nah, that's too long.  What does Jared call the two of them?  Ah yes, Padackles.  Much better.  Shorter.  ''APPROVED BY PADACKLES''.

When faced with anything that is contrary to their weak little beliefs, they resort to name calling more enthusiastically than anyone else on this fandom.  Go onto Haught's page.  She called a contradictor a ''sexist pig''.  Perhaps they learnt it from their hideous overlord who calls critical people ''haters'', rather than rectifying his behavior or rectifying their perception.  Yet they will flip out when I point at his ugly face and say ''that face is ugly''.  Well of course, its ugly.  And it's getting uglier as we speak.  Perhaps because all the ugliness he has inside of him is starting to show on the surface. 

The last and the worst tell tale sign you are dealing with a heller, for me anyway because they use this ploy a lot, is accusing you of bigotry the way they accuse Jensen.  Destiel is a fantasy ship.  It is not a sexuality, so denying it doesn't make you a bigot.  The first few times I was accused of homophobia, I was emotionally jostled.  It hurt.  That's when I realized how Jensen must feel.  He gets bombarded with this filthy accusation on social media by thousands of disgusting fans who have only hate and malice in their hearts.  If someone reads a dumb headcanon on haught's page and then asks poor Jensen about it during a con, and Jensen shoots the heller down, then Jensen is going to be called a homophobe all over again, and its will be Haught's fault for not adding a note to her headcanon dissuading such behavior.  Oh, but Haught is not wrong for writing this filth, right?  She is just ''spreading love and joy'' right?  No, she is just a pig, with horrible taste is ugly little weasels who were publically named ugly.

I don't know if you meant this with the misha, no post, but I think you totally called it! Misha talked about the usual bs from J&J on set and wouldn't you know, there's someone complaining that Misha talking about it or joking about them is gross and harassment. You know, getting a foot on his balls, bj motions during probably emotional scenes he's supposed to perform well - totally fine - talking about it or making a joke makes HIM gross and harrassing IS THIS THE TWILIGHT ZONE

Hello anon! Yes, yes in great part my post was about that. I love Misha with all my heart, but sometimes I wish he could filter himself a bit, even if I know he shouldn’t do it because haters can go fuck themselves. 

But this fandom is the Twilight Zone like you said and everything he says is taken the wrong way. If he talks about the gestures that jaysjays made during filming, he is the gross one, he is the one who queerbaits his fans. Doesn’t matter that, again, they had to ask them to leave, so Misha can continue filming. (Btw the crew must be so happy about having to stay after hours on account of “joke after joke”, must be delightful!) On the other hand, some of his “fans” listen to that and it’s immediately cockles!, because their brains are only on shipping mode. *Sigh*. 

Not only we have to deal with the fucking antis and their no brainer hate, but now, we also have to deal with extreme destiel! and cockles! shippers who don’t give af about Cas and/or Misha, and only see him as a part of a ship. Some of the comments were disgusting, they don’t care Cas is back, they care that there is a hug with Dean, they are “living” now because of that unconfirmed speculation, not because Cas may be back, nah, that’s not important. Later they appeared offended because some of us call them on that and is: “How dare you tell that I don’t care about Cas! *shocked*” Lmao! 

And it wouldn’t surprise me that all those “gay” gestures and mocking from the jaysjays were done exactly about Cas and Dean’s reunion, mocking this hug, because it’s not “manly” to hug your friend. It wouldn’t be the first time, and sadly we know is not going to be the last.

So yeah, that was what the post was about, I knew it was going to bring him shit, but I don’t know if I’m more annoyed by the haters or his “fans” only talking about that part of the panel, because ship! is the only thing on their minds all the time. -.-

Do you think some nasty reporter might try to expose Misha/Cockles now? Because these gossip reporters are like vultures and they will dig in to see what all the fuss is about. Even a bigger scandal now that he has claimed to be straight. Idk I'm just worried this may not be over.

papers can't just decide nah he's not and start getting into the nuances of 'oh but he's straight but then here's all of these gifs and con moments of them being cute together sO WHAT IS IT MAN???' because that's just bad. that's just stupid.

my fear is someone outside taking something to a reporter after the events of this weekend but any reporter or publication that publically outs them against their wishes will probably have the entire fandom on their doorstep.
