🌷 This is a signal boost for the Alshawish family! 🌷
Meet Haya: a bright, young freelancer hoping to evacuate Gaza with her family.
They are a family of eight; Haya (31) is fundraising to evacuate through the Rafah crossing to Egypt, along with her parents, Nahed (64) and Shadia (53), her brother, Mohamed (35), and three other sisters, Ghadir (37), Amal (29), and Aseel (21). Their other brother, Ahmed, is currently residing in Belgium, and helping them organise this fundraiser.
Before the war stole their livelihood from them, these siblings worked as a united team of freelancers, including three skilled programmers and one graphic designer. Now, their father's factory has been destroyed, their home burned, they are unable to work, and they have been forced to flee for their lives.
So far, they have raised €58,581 of their €100,000 goal to see them all to safety.

As if their situation was not already horrific enough, Haya is also grappling with another fear:
I, Haya, suffer from severe allergy to penicillin-derived medications, and my sister, Amal, also suffers from severe allergies to medications from my family such as Paracetamol and Ibuprofen.
These allergies create a deep sense of fear and anxiety for us, as we live in a constant state of tension and fear of anything that may require a visit to the hospital. We fear being given inappropriate medications due to the unavailability of suitable treatments in Gaza because of war or lack of awareness and not informing the doctor of our allergies, which could lead to serious consequences threatening our lives.
This situation breeds a storm of doubts and worries, so we appeal to you to help us leave Gaza and rid ourselves of the anxiety and fear due to allergies.
I urge you to follow Haya ( @hayanahed ) and read more of the Alshawish family's story in their own words. Please reblog their posts, and donate if you are able to do so.
You support will mean the world to them in this devastating time. Please donate if you can 💖

“I am truly humbled and honoured to have been selected to lead the Alberta NDP into its next era. The excitement and optimism I’ve felt throughout this leadership race proves that Albertans want a government they can trust and believe in," said Nenshi.

Nahee Lee took part in the House of Cool trainee program over the summer and has led to an older version of the script from a sequence we did not have previously! The episode in question is A House Divided and while most of the dialogue made it to the final, there were some interesting changes...
Have at you Stricklake fans.
As a fun bonus, on her website are the thumbnails and set up she produced to make this! You can find the first one here and the second one here.
Former Calgary mayor Naheed Nenshi confirmed Monday he will seek the leadership of Alberta's New Democrats, changing the trajectory of the race to replace Rachel Notley.
Nenshi's candidacy has fuelled the Alberta political rumour mill for more than a month.
In early February, the 52-year-old wrote in a statement to CBC News that he had been "listening to a lot of pitches from party members and other Albertans" and suggested he would have more to say in the coming weeks.
