Third wheel? No, I'm part of the Gang.
Kisames hand is fast, coming down on yours as you reach out. You pout.
"I just wanted some of your food!" You explain and he eyes you for a second. "Fine," he relents, releasing you. You grab one of the fries on his plate, giggling when he slings his now free arm around you to pull you in.
"What did you think she wanted?" Hidan asks from the other side of the table, the signature can of Monster in his hand.
"My food," Kisame explains, digging into his burger before coming up. "I just want her to ask for her."
"But she didn't ask for it," Hidan starts before deeming it an impossible fight. "Whatever," he grunts, turning away, tuning back into the heated discussion between Kankuro and Sasori.
"Kisame?" You lean into your boyfriend, pulling at the string of his hoodie. "Can I have a sip of your drink too?"
He huffs, trying to act annoyed. As if he didn't order your favorite when you claimed you didn't want anything.
"You're going to be the death of me," he comments, pinching your hip as a way of answering your plea.
"You're not that strong then," Deidara quips from across the table, moving as if to steal one of Kisame's fries. The glare he gets has him pull back halfway.
"Alright, alright," he waves off just as Itachi walks over.
"No more free seats," Deidara tells him, smug grin on his lips. It's no secret that these two don't get along.
Kisame huffs yet again, pulling you onto his lap in one swift motion, making space for Itachi.
You smirk, winking at Deidara who doesn't even bother hiding his groan.
"Thanks," Itachi mutters in your direction, not even blinking when you sneak a fry from his plate as well.

Alternate universe Akatsuki OCs, taken at least at the same parallel time as the beginning of Shippuden
Will comment their backstories below this image
Left: Fuyune Sazanka
Right: Shizuka Hansei
Tumblr media
The background image was made by Blue Willow AI
Tumblr media
Fuyune Sazanka
The Sazanka Clan is mostly known for their Crystal Release, but their most legendary shinobi from the Warring States Era had the only naturally occurring kekkei tōta - Winter Release. (Also worth noting that it is widely believed that the Sazanka Clan is not a descendant of the Sage of Six Paths but of a malevolent entity called Jashin, which resulted in them being viewed as barbarians during the Warring States Era.)
Fuyune Sazanka is the only other person who was born from the clan who had Winter Release after the death of Shimon the Soothsayer by the hands of the Second Tsuchikage, Mu.
Just a three year old during the end of the Third Shinobi War, Fuyune witnessed the death of her pregnant mother in the hands of Hidden Cloud due to territorial disputes between the Land of Lightning and the Land of Frost.
The prodigy heiress of the Sazanka, she was 9 when she entered the Chuunin Exams held at the Leaf Village. It was the first time her power was truly exposed to the greater public. Her fight with Itachi Uchiha was the final round of the Chuunin Exams, where she lost. It was then she met Itachi's younger brother, Sasuke, who she surmised would've been the same age as the sibling her mother was carrying, causing her to have some resentment against him, as he had everything she lost. However, it was not the last time they would meet as her father signed a secret treaty with Fugaku Uchiha, which led to joint operations with one of the founding clans of the Leaf Village.
A few years down the line, Hanzo the Salamander's adoptive son - Nagato - had begun calling for a joint operations team towards the minor villages, in hopes of having an alliance, asking for one jounin level shinobi from each village. Hidden Frost is such an example of one that received an invitation, and Fuyune was sent to be the representative to the formation of this joint military force - the Akatsuki.
---
Shizuka Hansei
It is a widely an open secret that the Hansei Clan was descended from a branch family of the Hyuuga, which accounts for their strange ocular power that can see in infrared light. It was not a secret, however, that the Hansei resent the Hyuuga for countless generations that Goro Hansei, the clan head during the formation of villages, refused to join the Leaf because the Hyuuga are there and proceeded to become one of the founding fathers of the Haze Village, alongside their allies.
As the Hansei Clan beliefs go, being a shinobi alone would not be enough to get by, Goro Hansei gambled investments in various things to a point where the Hansei became the richest shinobi clan in the world and the Haze Village being the most technologically advanced, that they have never been invaded by others.
As the direct descendant of Goro and heiress of the Hansei, Shizuka has been noted to be of very similar personality. Her constant seeking of business ideas and opportunities, investments, and ways to profit starting at a young age often take people aback. Her hatred for the Hyuuga isn't because of the old generation's resentment, but because her parents were killed by the Hyuuga during the Third Shinobi War. As the Akatsuki was formed, she knew that not only Rain sought her clan to handle some of the finances, but that the bigger villages will force their way in. She threatened Hanzo that she would stop the funding if the Leaf sent a Hyuuga when this happens.
Due to her accidental exposure to the strange purple meteorite Goro Hansei kept hidden in the basement of the clan manor, Shizuka became physically weak. However, her chakra became more potent. Due to this, she specializes mostly in sealing techniques and genjutsu, along with her clan's kekkei genkai, radiation release. She had sought the Shikkotsu Forest, and is able to perform sage techniques.

Rogue Sakura
When Sasuke heard a certain pink haired rogue had been spotted in a nearby village, he knew he had to go. He was put on a team with Naruto and Kakashi, much to his annoyance. Traveling with a group, he figured, would slow him down and he needed to get to her as soon as possible. As they made it to the village and after checking in at an inn, the Uchiha took off on his own.
For six months he had been searching for Sakura, trying to find out why she would leave the village and go to Orochimaru, and trying to understand why she would leave him. The last thing she told Sasuke was that she loved him, and while he didn’t say it at the time, he knew that he loved her too. So why did things have to end up like this?
With an activated Sharingan, the Uchiha moved in the direction Sakura had been spotted. He was able to spot her signature and saw she was in the forest and on the move.
This time, he vowed. This time I’ll stop her.
He shouldn’t have been surprised when her signature vanished, he was more upset about losing her. Sakura always had the best chakra control in their group, so it shouldn’t have been a surprise. Pausing on a tree branch to assess his next move, a kunai came hurling towards him, slicing through the sleeve of his navy blue shirt and cutting his skin. It wasn’t a deep cut, but he still winced at the pain and clutched his free hand over his bicep.
As Sasuke looked in the direction the tool came from, he saw her. Standing across from him was the cherry blossom girl herself, the one he was in love with; Sakura.
Her hair was still short, not even reaching her shoulders, and her eyes still that vibrate hue of green that he missed seeing. She gazed at him softly in return, but her lips curved downwards into a small frown.
The qipao she used to wear had been exchanged for a red high collar zip up shirt, black leggings with a waist warmer.
“Sakura…” her name came out like a whisper, as if he wasn’t sure it was really her.
“So it really is you, Sasuke.” He noted the lack of suffix added to his name. The familiarity and closeness she once used, was gone.
There was a hint of sadness to her cool voice, like she didn’t want to see him. “What do you want? Why did you come here?”
“It’s it obvious? I came to take you home.”
“Home? To that village?” She scoffed. “Why would I return to a place that only saw me as fodder? You, Naruto, Ino, everyone else…compared to all of you I was nothing. I was born clanless and had to watch as everything was ripped from me. As my home was destroyed and my parents taken with it. I was weak, but Orochimaru saw potential in me when none of you did. He trained me, taught me how to fight, and effectively use poisons.”
“Please Sakura,” Sasuke has never been one to beg, but he was willing to do anything to get her back.
“I’m stronger now Sasuke. I can fight, I can defend myself, I can hold my own. I even defeated Orochimaru. I don’t need to listen to rules or be ordered around. I can do whatever I want. What would even be the purpose of going back?”
“Everyone misses you. I miss you.” The words started to get caught in his throat, but he couldn’t let this be a repeat of last time. Sasuke knew he had to tell her. “I love you.“
He watched as Sakura’s expression went from shock, to pain, or anger within the span of seconds. “Don’t you dare that to me! What right do you have?!” her voice cracked as tears began to roll down her face.  “I spent years chasing after you, trying to get you to notice and acknowledge me. And after I leave you decided to reciprocate your feelings.”
“Sakura, I've always felt this way about you! I know I realized it too late, but that doesn’t change the fact that I care about you. I always have and I always will.”
They stared at each other in silence, before an overwhelming exhaustion began to take over his body.
His eyelids grew heavy, as he started to wonder what was happening. The kunai, he remembered, must have been laced with poison. “Sakura, please don’t do this,“ he tried to call out, but she was looking away now.
“It’s nothing lethal. It’ll only put you to sleep for a bit.”
Fighting a losing battle to stay awake, his eye lips slowly started to close.
“I’m sorry, Sasuke,” was the last thing he heard before sleep took over.
When Sasuke woke, he was on the ground sitting against a tree. Sakura, he knew, was long gone. Clenching his fist, he hit the ground out of frustration with himself for letting her get away.
As he looked down, he noticed a cherry blossom in his lap.

SASUKE UCHIHA — ❝ THE LAST UCHIHA ❞
Tumblr media
Sasuke wouldn’t initially understand his feelings for you, unsure of how they differed from those of a friend to a potential lover. Knowing Sasuke, he wouldn’t confess to you due to his past mistakes and doubts about whether he could give you what you want. But that would soon change once he returned to the village and saw you hanging out with a random guy who kept making you laugh at a vendor shop. When you noticed your teammate returning, you waved at him, not realizing the glare he was directing at your friend. Before you could get a word out, Sasuke gently grabbed your arm and pulled you away, making you follow him out of the store without a chance to say goodbye. He kept walking silently until you were alone in a random alleyway, hidden from prying eyes.
“Hey! Sasuke, what was that about? Is everything okay?”
"Who was that?" he asked, his eyes focused on your delicate features that he had grown to admire. You tilted your head, confused by his question.
"Huh? Oh, you mean Lino! He’s just a friend I've been visiting," you said, not noticing how your comment made him feel a bit jealous. Sasuke kept quiet, pondering whether he should say anything or continue to avoid his feelings for you. He wondered if you truly liked him the way he liked you, fearing the possibility of rejection.
Your eyes grew concerned as you watched the stoic male avoid eye contact. “I hope you know that I… I missed you,” you confessed, shyly looking to the side as his head shot up, eyes slightly widened. “I’m just glad you’re back now, even if it's only for a little bit. I’m happy you’re okay.”
Your heart suddenly raced faster than you could maintain as the stoic male grabbed your hand, holding it lightly before gripping it firmly with warmth. You glanced up, your face warming from the contact as you witnessed a small smile appear on his face. You had always had a crush on Sasuke since you became teammates on Team 7 with Naruto and Sakura, but you always hid your feelings deep down. You doubted that you would ever have a chance with Sasuke Uchiha.
"I’m glad you missed me… 'cause I’ve missed you too," he confessed, pulling you closer as you listened intently. "I… I didn’t understand this feeling, wondering what made me feel this way until I realized it was you."
You held your breath, nothing around you capturing your attention except the male in front of you.
“I thought about you the whole time I was away,” Sasuke sighed, gathering the courage to speak his feelings. “I realized that I’ve liked you for quite some time.”
Surprise consumed you, eyes wide open at the confession. You never expected this, especially from Sasuke, who usually wasn’t the type to express his feelings. But here you were, discovering that Sasuke Uchiha liked you, apparently for a long time now. Your heart swelled as a large smile spread across your lips, gripping his hand more tightly than before. Sasuke felt all the tension loosen from his shoulders as his admiration for you grew stronger from your words.
“I've always liked you, Sasuke, for years. And I will continue to do so as long as I’m by your side.”
ITACHI UCHIHA — ❝ ITACHI OF THE SHARINGAN ❞
Tumblr media
Itachi found himself in a rare moment of contemplation, leaning against the sturdy trunk of a cherry blossom tree. He allowed his thoughts to drift to a singular figure that seemed to occupy every corner of his mind: you. Closing his eyes, Itachi attempted to unravel the enigma of his feelings. When had he fallen in love with you? The question lingered in his mind like a persistent shadow.
He recalled the first time he met you, your bright eyes reflecting curiosity and kindness, a stark contrast to the darkness that often enveloped his world. At that moment, something stirred within him, a whisper of possibility that he dared not acknowledge, frustrating his inner being with the thoughts. As time passed, your presence became a constant in his life, weaving its way into the fabric of his existence. Like music to his ears, your laughter echoed in his memories, warming even the coldest corners of his heart. Your unwavering support during challenging missions, and your gentle encouragement in moments of doubt—each interaction etched itself into his soul, leaving an indelible mark.
It was difficult for him to accept a different form of love to enter his complicated heart.
Now, under the cascading petals of the cherry blossom tree, the realization hit him with a gale force. His chest tightened, and he opened his eyes, staring at the soft pink petals fluttering around him, their beauty a stark reminder of his vulnerability. He took a deep breath, feeling the weight of his emotions settle within him.
"Why do you make me feel like this?" he muttered to himself, the question laden with confusion and a touch of exasperation.
Just then, he heard footsteps approaching. He turned his head and saw you walking towards him, your presence immediately calming the storm of his thoughts. You smiled, and he felt the familiar warmth spread through him, a warmth that he now recognized as love.
"Itachi, are you alright?" you asked, concerned.
He hesitated, his usual stoic demeanor cracking under the intensity of his feelings. For a moment, he considered staying silent, keeping his turmoil hidden. But then he realized he couldn't continue like this, trapped in his own emotions.
"It’s you," he said quietly, his voice steady despite the turmoil inside. "You make me feel like this." Your eyes widened slightly, surprise and curiosity flickering across your face. "What do you mean?"
He took a step closer, his gaze never leaving yours. "Every time I see you and hear your voice, I feel something I can't ignore anymore. It’s confusing and frustrating, but I can't deny it any longer. I... I love you."
The words hung in the air between you, a confession that felt both liberating and terrifying. Itachi's heart raced as he awaited your response, hoping that the feelings he'd kept hidden for so long would not be met with rejection.
You blinked, absorbing his words, and then a soft smile spread across your face. "Itachi," you said gently, taking his rough hands into your own. "I love you too."
Relief washed over him, and for the first time in a long while, he allowed himself to truly smile. The complicated emotions that had plagued him began to untangle, replaced by a sense of peace he hadn't known was possible. At that moment, under the cherry blossom tree, Itachi Uchiha found solace in your embrace, knowing that he no longer had to face his feelings alone. With gentle tenderness, he leaned forward and planted a soft kiss on your forehead, a silent affirmation of his love and gratitude.
SHISUI UCHIHA — ❝ THE BODY FLICKER ❞
Tumblr media
The sound of clashing kunai echoed through the training grounds as you and Shisui sparred under the burning sun. Shisui's movements, usually swift and precise, seemed distracted today, his mind elsewhere. You noticed his unfocused gaze and slower reactions, wondering what could be bothering him. As you circled each other, you saw another opening and took it, landing a solid hit to his head. Shisui stumbled back, rubbing the spot where you had struck him, his expression a mix of pain and embarrassment.
"What’s wrong with you today?" you demanded, frustration clear in your tone. "You're not paying attention and using your full potential."
Shisui sighed, lowering his eyes to the ground. "I'm sorry," he muttered, avoiding your gaze. "I know I should be doing better."
Your annoyance faded slightly as you watched him. Shisui Uchiha, one of the most talented shinobi in the village, was never one to slack off during training. Something had to be seriously bothering him.
"Well, what's going on?" you asked, softer this time. "You can tell me."
Shisui hesitated, his mind racing. He had been overthinking his feelings for you for days, his thoughts a tangled mess of confusion and longing. He hadn't meant to let it affect his training, but being so close to you, yet unable to express how he felt, was driving him to lose focus.
"I... it's just..." he began, struggling to find the right words. "I've been thinking a lot lately, about... things." You raised an eyebrow, waiting for him to continue. "Things? What things?"
He took a deep breath, his heart pounding in his chest. "About you," he blurted out before he could stop himself. "I couldn’t understand why I was feeling this way until I realized that I… I like you!"
The silence that followed was deafening. Shisui's eyes widened as he realized what he had just confessed, his face turning crimson. He hadn't meant to say it, especially not like this.
Your eyes widened in surprise, taken aback by his sudden admission. "Shisui..."
"I-I'm sorry," he stammered, backing away slightly. "I didn't mean to... I mean, I did, but not like this. I just..."
You stepped forward, placing a hand on his shoulder. "Shisui, it's okay," you said gently, a smile tugging at your lips. "You don't have to apologize.”
Shisui stood up from the ground, wiping off any dirt as he avoided eye contact, his face still flushed with embarrassment. "I thought you knew," he murmured. "I don’t even use my Sharingan and barely put any power into my movements during our training sessions..."
"I just thought you were going easy on me," you admitted, rubbing the back of your head and feeling a bit foolish for not realizing the obvious signs. However, a warmth spread through you at his vulnerability, and a glowing grin appeared on your lips. "Well, for the record, I like you too."
The relief that washed over Shisui's face was palpable, his tense shoulders relaxing as he let out a breath he hadn't realized he was holding. "Well, of course, you fell for my charms. How could you not?" he teased, a playful smile breaking through his worried expression.
You chuckled and shoved a hand against his shoulder. "Don’t get too ahead of yourself now. How about we continue sparring? But this time, I expect you to give it your all if you want to win over my heart fully."
Shisui grinned, feeling the weight of his unspoken feelings finally lifts. "Oh, you've got yourself a bet."
As you resumed your positions, you both couldn't shake the feeling that the sparring match had taken on a new, deeper significance. At that moment, under the fading light of the day, you both understood that this was the start of something special. The connection between you had deepened, turning a simple sparring match into a cherished memory. After the match (Shisui won), you sat together, hands linked, feeling a sense of peace and happiness, knowing that you had found something truly wonderful with each other.
MADARA UCHIHA — ❝ GHOST OF THE UCHIHA ❞
Tumblr media
Madara Uchiha, a man known for his iron will and unyielding resolve, found himself ensnared in an internal struggle that defied his every attempt at control. His feelings for you had become a thorn in his side, a relentless source of annoyance that he couldn’t simply brush away. In an attempt to cope, he had begun to distance himself from you, hoping that the space would extinguish the unwanted emotions. However, it only served to exacerbate the situation. You noticed his sudden coldness, the way he avoided your presence and cut conversations short. Hurt and frustrated, you decided to confront him. You found him in a secluded courtyard, his back turned as he stared out at the night sky, lost in thought.
“Madara,” you called out, your voice firm. “We need to talk.”
He didn’t turn, his silence only fueling your frustration. You walked closer, refusing to be ignored. “Why have you been avoiding me? What did I do?”
“It’s nothing,” he replied tersely, still not facing you.
“It’s not nothing!” you snapped, moving to stand in front of him, forcing him to meet your eyes. “Tell me what’s going on!”
His jaw tightened, and you could see the storm brewing behind his dark eyes. “Just leave it alone,” he said, standing up from his spot to walk away.
“No,” you insisted, stepping into his path. “I won’t leave it alone. You owe me an explanation.”
The tension between you reached a breaking point. Madara’s frustration finally erupted. With a swift motion, he punched the wall beside him, cracks radiating out from the impact of his chakra. Despite the sudden action, you remained unflinching, eyes locked on his as you had anticipated this eruption from the stubborn Uchiha.
“Why do you have this effect on me?” he shouted, his voice a mixture of anger and desperation. “Why can’t I stop thinking about you? It’s infuriating!”
Your breath caught in your throat, but you pressed on, your voice softer now. “Why didn’t you just tell me?” you asked. “Why push me away?”
“Because I’m in love with you!” he roared, the confession tearing out of him. “And I hate it! I hate that I can’t control it, that you make me feel this way!”
The raw intensity of his words hung in the air, his chest heaving from the outburst. You stepped closer, reaching out to gently touch his arm. “Madara,” you said softly, “you don’t have to fight it. I love you too.”
His eyes softened, the storm within them calming. Vulnerability seeped through his usually stoic facade as he looked at you. “You... do?”
“Yes,” you replied, your voice steady and sincere. “From the moment we met after the war, I knew I did.”
For a moment, silence enveloped them, allowing his words to sink in. Then, slowly, he pulled you into his arms, holding you tightly as if afraid you might slip away. “I’ve been a fool,” he murmured against your hair, the tension in his body easing. “I should have told you sooner.”
You wrapped your arms around him, feeling the solidity of his presence. “We’ll figure it out together,” you whispered.
In that embrace, the world seemed to shrink until it was just the two of you. Madara finally allowed himself to let go of the control he had clung to so fiercely. The future might still be uncertain, but with you by his side, he knew he could face whatever came next.
OBITO UCHIHA — ❝ THE MASKED MAN ❞
Tumblr media
In the hidden depths of Obito Uchiha's heart, emotions swirled like a tumultuous storm, leaving him lost in a haze of confusion. Amidst the chaos of his thoughts, he struggled to decipher the true nature of his feelings for you. He watched you from afar, his heart yearning for something more, yet fearing the consequences of exposing his true emotions to the light. Each friendly gesture and shared moment deepened his uncertainty, leaving him adrift in a sea of conflicting emotions.
Day after day, he found himself drawn to you like a moth to a flame, captivated by your smile, your laughter, your mere presence. Yet, beneath the surface of his admiration, a seed of jealousy lay dormant, gnawing at his soul whenever he saw you with another man. He attempted to suppress the pang of envy that pierced his heart whenever he witnessed you in someone else's company, but the feeling only intensified with each passing day. The mere thought of someone else holding your attention, of another person eliciting the smiles he longed to see from you, was unbearable to him.
Then, one fateful day, his worst fears materialized as he stumbled upon you in the village, your laughter intertwined with that of another man's. A surge of jealousy engulfed him, threatening to consume him whole as he watched the scene unfold before his eyes, witnessing a random leaf ninja bid farewell to you.
Unable to contain his emotions any longer, the words spilled from Obito's lips in a rush of desperation and longing. "I can't stand seeing you with him!" he blurted out, his voice laced with bitterness.
You turned to face him, surprise flickering in your eyes at his outburst and undetected presence. "Obito, what are you talking about?"
Obito took a shaky breath, his heart pounding, struggling to find the right words. "I–I'm sorry. It's just... I've been confused about my feelings for you and the way you affect my entire being. And then seeing you with him... it hurts."
A heavy silence settled between them, the weight of his confession hanging in the air like a shroud. And then, to his surprise, you reached out and took his hand in yours, your touch sending a jolt of warmth through his veins. "Obito… Say it, please."
He sighed, feeling the weight of his emotions pressing down upon him like a suffocating blanket, his face burning from your intense look. “I know we're friends, and I value that more than anything, but I believe there's something more between us. And it's driving me insane because I… I cherish you deeply!”
Awaiting the sudden rejection, to his shock, you placed his hand against your cheek, your face nuzzling against his warmed palms as you graced him with the same sweet smile he had grown to love dearly.
“I've always loved you, Obito, ever since we became classmates in the academy. I knew that the boy who declared himself to be the next Hokage with those big goggles on his face was truly someone I would always admire.”
His heart skipped a beat at your words, a rush of euphoria flooding his senses as he realized how long you had waited for him. He couldn't believe his luck and fathom that the person he had been pining for felt the same way about him for so long. And as you leaned in closer, your lips brushing against his in a tender kiss, Obito felt as though he were floating on air. In that moment, amidst the chaos of his emotions, he found a sense of clarity and peace, knowing that he had finally found the person who would stand by his side through thick and thin.

Alternate universe idea where everyone is alive and well and Naruto gets to grow up as a happy child. He has red Uzumaki hair becuase he takes more after his mom here.
Let’s just ignore the little side fact that Obito, Kakashi and Rin should actually look a bit older in here. XD
Thanks for taking a look! :)

sasuke was going to genuinely plan out a genocide and it wasn't something he said in a fit of rage, right?
Was Sasuke Uchiha genocidal?
(2k words of analysis, manga screenshots, and other resources)
To refresh everybody's memory, Sasuke's plan was to destroy Konoha and everybody in it. Not that he actually did but those were his own words.
Tumblr media
Now we can interpret this in two ways
Sasuke is blinded by rage and would, in a hypothetical scenario, act on his words (Sasuke is genocidal)
Sasuke is being dramatic and/or would get cold feet when confronted with the scenario (Sasuke is not genocidal)
In my opinion, the first scenario is far more likely to occur and the second lacks sufficient evidence to reasonably rule out that Sasuke is genocidal.
>>Analysis under the cut<<
Let's establish a few things before we begin. But feel free to skip to the next headline.
First, I will judge attempted crime as harshly as committed crime. Since this is not real life, there is no need to reward incompetence or luck. Either way, the focus of this discussion is Sasuke's intent and resolve.
Second, fictional characters don't exist in flesh and blood but as part of a narrative. This means that a character's decisions and psychology heavily depend on the author's intent.
Third, I love Sasuke's character. Do not misunderstand this as hate. This is an analysis of Sasuke's psychology and actions. He has been wronged in horrific ways and deserved better, but that won't make me sanitize his character.
Fourth, the red links are context links, linking back to my own posts. I highly recommend reading them.
The Sincerity of Sasuke's Death Threats
Sasuke rarely jokes around or speaks from a place of uncertainty or dramatics. He says he'll kill Danzo? You bet he does. He says he'll kill Itachi? He does. He says he'll kill Naruto? He tries that as well. Granted, two of these deserved to die (from Sasuke's POV) but what matters here is that Sasuke's threats are meant to be interpreted as sincerity rather than hyperboles.
Tumblr media
Not that Sasuke never goes back on his words though, as is the case with the ending (although it is arguably a character inconsistency). The one of the few other time he takes back a threat (chapter 177) it is not a direct threat but an implied one that is based on a hypothetical.
Back then he reconsiders his words - but not really because he retroactively notices he didn't mean them but rather because Kakashi pulls an uno-reverse on him. Afterward, he has 3-4 years to spend on introspection only for him to repeat his threat in chapter 416. Sasuke readiness to induce harm to innocents does not appear to be spontaneous or ill-considered.
Tumblr media
Sasuke generally hesitates every now and then. Like when he ends up sparing Naruto after he is knocked unconscious. Or sparing Dosu because Sakura begs Sasuke to stop.
Tumblr media
But those moments occurred at an entirely different point in Sasuke's character arc at which he is rapidly bouncing back and forth between cruelty and mercy. More on that later.
The Devolvement of Sasuke's Morals
Sasuke acts entirely differently after the truth reveal. His morals have visibly changed for the worse. Perhaps it becomes the most apparent when comparing chapter 8 to chapter 481. Whereas Genin Sasuke would once help and support his teammates if they could not keep up on their own, a teenage Sasuke disposes of them.
Tumblr media
This kind of development first occurs as early on as chapter 56 when Sasuke decides that growing stronger (ends) justifies carrying a curse mark (means). He is on a steady moral decline afterward, first willing to sacrifice his loyalties (Orochimaru), then uninvolved bystanders (Killer B, the other Kage, other shinobi, and samurai), and finally, a friend (Karin) all in pursuit of his goals. It is utilitarian in nature.
Also, please let's not discuss the validity of killing soldiers. We have already dealt with this question during Waves Arc and later when Itachi died. From Sasuke's and other characters' POV (and as evidenced by chapter 343), dehumanizing and discarding a person just for being a soldier on the wrong side is wrong.
Tumblr media
What happened to Sasuke over time is, of course, a character arc. A corruption arc, to be specific. Let's make a quick trip.
A character arc is initiated by some sort of trigger event. If said event lies between a version A and B of a character, chances are that their sympathy, competence, or proactivity have become incomparable to each other. This is why a 13-year-old version of Sasuke (pre truth reveal, which is his trigger event for this specific arc) does not inform us about the workings of a 17-year-old version.
Before this triggering event, Sasuke is also in the midst of a turning point in his arc, hence the indecisiveness about killing Naruto. You can view this in parallel to the Hero's Journey's "Refusal of the Call" during which Sasuke is still hesitant about the road he is taking until the triggering event makes the decision for him.
Tumblr media
Now, back to Sasuke's morals. Personally, I believe what stands at the helm of Sasuke's corruption arc is a decrease in self-awareness and a growing lack of empathy.
There's a certain hypocrisy to Sasuke's decision-making. Sasuke is grieving a brother but then attacks somebody else's brother. He is enraged about Konoha discarding Itachi as a tool but will then proceed to abandon his own comrades (Team Taka). He condemns the genocide committed against the Uchiha but then plans a genocide of his own. Injustice is only injustice if inflicted on Sasuke but not if caused by Sasuke.
This does not compare to a younger Sasuke, who uses his own trauma to understand and connect with others and to discern right from wrong. Sasuke is capable of empathizing with Naruto because he is lonely (like himself) and Sasuke finds Orochimaru "disgusting" for viewing humans as mere tools (like a genocidal Itachi). But, over the course of his arc, his trauma instead turns into a weapon to distance himself from others.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The in-universe reason for this change is likely that Sasuke's mind is fully occupied with his own grief and rage. He is blinded by it, so much so that he no longer has the mental space to accommodate other people's pain and suffering.
There is also a narrative device to this, usually applied in the "darkest hour", such as "Batman Grabs a Gun". The purpose is to draw attention to the severity of the situation while also providing more depth to a character by giving them an underlying layer (their emotions/struggles/etc.) beneath their facade (their morals/reputation/etc.).
In Sasuke's case, this is used to highlight his grief for Itachi which is greater than any moral principle Sasuke has.
Intensity and Duration
So, Sasuke is definitely blinded by his rage. But is it a "fit"? I suppose that this is a matter of definition.
Sasuke's hatred for Konoha appears to be a constant. It doesn't change. It doesn't lessen. Not after a couple of hours and not after a couple of days.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
To me personally, due to its duration, this is no longer a fit of rage but a mindset - one that Sasuke seems to wholeheartedly believe in.
Regardless of this, we have no indication that Sasuke's rage would lessen anytime soon. On the contrary, actually. Sasuke claims that his hatred has only grown since then.
Tumblr media
The question we now have to ask is whether or not Sasuke would be able to rein in his rage in time to spare innocent lives. Alternatively, and combined with Sasuke's willingness to kill his own teammates, it is entirely possible that Sasuke's rage would power through, as it did for approximately 300 chapters in canon.
The Attempts
Now, the most damning argument I have to offer is that Sasuke was already intending to make his genocide plans a reality (or take steps to do so) on three occasions. Twice during the Summit Arc and once during the War Arc.
Tumblr media
On all three occasions, the reason why his plans don't come to fruition is because Sasuke gets sidetracked or stopped outright.
In addition, there are three other problems slowing him down. Right in chapter 416, Kisame explains that Sasuke is not strong enough to fight the entire village - even with Taka's help but even more so without them. This conflicts with Sasuke's belief that Taka likely won't approve of his genocide plans or should not be involved for other reasons (which is why Sasuke pretends in front of them). He both needs Taka and has to get rid of them.
Later on, Naruto declares that he will always be there to defend Konoha against Sasuke. My interpretation of this is that Sasuke not only honors his bond with Naruto but also recognizes that fighting Konoha and Naruto simultaneously is not strategically wise - hence he needs to defeat Naruto beforehand.
Tumblr media
First Attempt
Sasuke takes Team Taka with him, believing them to be necessary backup. Then Obito intervenes who both threatens Sasuke and gives him the wrong impression that Konoha is "no more" - either fully eradicated or too weak to defend itself.
This might erase the need for Taka as Konoha is weakened significantly and Danzo can be targeted separately from the village.
Tumblr media
Second Attempt
In the meantime, Sasuke kills Danzo. As explained by Kisame, a greater conflict with the entirety of Konoha is inevitable if you aim at major political leaders.
On his second attempt, he has coincidentally already managed to abandon the entirety of Team Taka, just as planned in chapter 416. But this time, before he can go to Konoha, he instead encounters Team 7. As explained previously, Sasuke soon realizes that he cannot destroy Konoha before killing Naruto. And before that, he needs to get his eyes fixed. This results in Sasuke's withdrawal from the fight.
Tumblr media
Third Attempt
On his third try, the one in which he decides to target Naruto first, he instead gets sidetracked by the appearance of Itachi on the battlefield.
"Sidetracked" doesn't mean "giving up" or "displaying disinterest" in a different goal. Otherwise, Sasuke's training under Orochimaru for 3-4 years would be proof of his disinterest in killing Itachi. Sasuke is simply prioritizing urgent matters and acting strategically.
Now, all of this "getting sidetracked" might sound a little convenient. But the question is "convenient for who?"
It is of course possible that Sasuke is openly searching for excuses because he doesn't truly want to eradicate Konoha, making him a harmless villain. The other explanation is that Kishimoto was the one looking for excuses.
In a conversation, @theheirofthesharingan pointed out that Sasuke is being "saved by the narrative" ie. plot armor. Though not in the sense that he is being protected from harm but rather that he is being protected from inflicting harm, probably as an extension of Konoha's own plot armor. This also ensures that Sasuke remains "redeemable" and likable to the audience so that Naruto can fulfill his goal of bringing him back to Konoha.
Conclusion
As I said in the beginning, there is a huge mountain of evidence suggesting that Sasuke not only fantasized but would've acted on his revenge plans against Konoha. This is because
We know Sasuke to be a non-dramatic character who doesn't easily back away from his own words.
Sasuke is on a corruption arc, his morals declining far enough to kill a friend. It seems unlikely that he'd draw the line at a stranger.
From a writing point of view, continuing Sasuke's corruption arc makes more logical sense unless he experiences another trigger event. It also further highlights Sasuke's pain.
Sasuke has repeated his goal multiple times over, leading me to believe that his mood wouldn't change soon enough for Sasuke to second-guess himself.
Sasuke has taken steps towards the fulfillment of his goal. It is entirely possible that, if Konoha didn't have plot armor, Sasuke would've found the right time to destroy the village eventually.
Of course, Sasuke's morals are not entirely gone, as we can see when he refuses to join Kabuto (though potentially just because Kabuto antagonizes Itachi). It is still entirely possible that Sasuke would've gotten cold feet when physically confronted with the task of killing innocent civilians. But this possibility is hardly entertained by any of the characters and Sasuke himself doesn't seem conflicted about his plans. It seems like Kishimoto intended for Sasuke to be genocidal, most evidence pointing toward this reading of his character.
I certainly have my opinions on this matter but, like always, this is a matter of interpretation.
Debating me is fine. I like to discuss my favorite characters. But screenshotting, blocking me, and then attacking me behind my back (and without having ever interacted with me) in a new post is a no-go for obvious reasons.

Hey Guys! 🩵
Today I got this Picture and it's in my Opinion one of the most beautiful and Canon-looking Comissions I ever got. Since I got it I didn't get tired of looking at it. its.sunjyo really is a Genius in Drawing Gaara - and now, two Gaara's in one Picture! That's really like a Dream came true. 👀
The Difference between them couldn't be bigger. In Appearance they are kinda looking alike, but their Personalitys are ... Well it's as the Name says, two completely different Worlds where different Things happened.
Road to Ninja Gaara is still a Jinchuuriki, fighting with Shukaku's Powers. He is a rebell and m*rdered way more people and did that way longer than his Canon Self. He is arrogant, selfish and cold-hearted. He shows no Mercy in Battles and he doesn't have a Problem with k&lling people, even for just looking at him a second too long. At least he was like that before he met Road to Ninja Raziela. Things started to change from then on, but very slowly. But as bad as he always was, he is and was always a loyal person.
Canon Gaara isn't a Jinchuuriki anymore since he was 15 years old. He was like RTN Gaara is before his Fight with Uzumaki Naruto. Nowdays he always wants to find a polite and peaceful Way to solve Things. He is quiet, reserved and introverted - but in a loving way. Words may be rare, but he thinks carefully about everything he says and anything has depth and he means it. He is interested in Friendships and Social Interactions, and found true love, in my Oc Raziela. And he is absolutely a loyal person and passionate about his Interests.
These two really couldn't be more different and I simply love what I created with Road to Ninja. 🩵

More of little redhead Uzumaki Naruto. :)
I imagine Kakashi being kind of unofficially adopted by Minato and Kushina, he’s Naruto’s big brother now (like it or not XD). I got the idea of Kushina going on a shoppping tour and bringing her little boys along (much to Kakashi’s suffering XD). [I’m no native Japanese speaker and my Japanese is a bit rusty so I hope I got it right but the words beside Kakashi are supposed to mean: “Man, why is it always me...”]
Kushina: Gosh, matching shirts! My boys will look soo cute in this!!! *O* <3<3<3
Kakashi: PLEASE, NO... TT-TT
Hope you like it! I was very surprised about the ammount of likes and reblogs of my last post, thank you very much!! :D
Thanks for taking a look! :)
