Why we need to prove our Latino side? Miles Morales’ B in Spanish...
One thing I’m annoyed with the fans watching Spiderman Across the Spider Verse, it's the way they make fun of Miles’ Spanish (I thought he spoke decent enough to understand, considering where he’s growing up)  How a lot of these Latinos (mostly older Spanish Speaking Latinos, I been seeing their asses on TikTok) calling Miles, a “No Sabo kid” because he got a B in Spanish.
Like ya’ll never taken a Spanish class in America before? It’s not Latin American Spanish (or all types of Spanish in Latin America), it’s Castellano (Spain’s Spanish)! I don’t speak enough Spanish and went into a Spanish Speaker 1 class for my high school credit (and to get into College), and it makes up two credits (which is Spanish 1 and Spanish 2) I ended up with a B+ even when I barely spoke it, read, and write it (I bust my ass off for that B+). Even some of my classmates that knows fluid Spanish (Mexican and Salvadoran type of Spanish) were shookth by taking that class. Some of them even got low grades, or had to argue with our teacher because the Spanish we were learning wasn’t what we grew up with and the words we use wasn’t considered “proper”. So for those that never taken that class and start saying shit about Miles getting a B in Spanish, ya’ll are bitches and giving low vibration?? Like why ya’ll so badly wanna see young Latinos to prove their worth so bad?? 😒😒😒
The worst part is ya’ll love Evil Miles’ because his Spanish is so damn fluid, that you forget he lost his OWN DAD and was only around his mom more often to speak Spanish so well like ya’ll need to go to therapy. Read some articles about Latinos in America aren’t speaking Spanish as much as their native countries. Read articles about How part of Mexico becoming California, or Latino scholars talking about growing up during a time their own parents have to force themselves to speak English? Or how our American School system fucks us over! Once you learn why, you're gonna realize is a deeper than not wanting to.

TW: BIT OF JJK SPOILERS like tiny bit
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Everybody say hello to Asami fushiguro!
Since Gege won't give us more on megu's mom I decided to treat the character as a canbas and painted over her with some self indulgence <33
She's the last of the Fushiguro clan after being coldy slayed infront of her eyes at her teenage years by one of the zenin clan due to jealousy.
She's a sweet soul but doesn't mean she won't throw hands if u test her (not as strong as her husband but she can still leave damage)
Asami's curse technique is just the 10 shadows but the animals are more monstrous looking, the shadow wolfs are bigger than megumi's compared in size <333
She's been the only who has gotten so close to Toji and without knowing she made him fall to his knees for her (oblivious rizz back at it again lol), unlike canon she does not die after megumi's birth so Shiu Kong has to live with Toji's simp ass
Tumblr media
Also did I mention she's mexican? No? Well yeah she is from her dad's side while her mom's japanese (toji enjoys hearing her talk in her native language even tho he doesn't understand shi, he just thinks its hot HA)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
How megumi looks like, yes he tends to swear a lil more than his canon counter part but i think its funny
Also since he grew up with his dad I think he would have more strenght and agilityy in fighting since Toji's now training him but still asist in the school
Also i saw this post where Toji didn't learn to read as a joke but I headcanon his shitty fam didn't actually even bother teaching him so I imagen Asami giving him reading lessons 💕

Hey remember that modern au with CIA Kallus that I said I was making forever ago and then totally didn't forget about? Yeah, the one with the white hat hacker Ghost crew?
So I'm working out some nationalities for reasons and have come up with this;
-Kanan is Brazilian because I said so fight me on it
-Zeb is Native American, one of the Lasat People. I feel like the narrative of systemic violence fits well here.
-Hera is African American because it fights her really well(also cuz she's black-coded in the show but idk that could just be me)
-Sabine is Vietnamese/Polynesian. We already know that Mandolorian culture is heavily based on Polynesian culture, but I wanted her to be mixed race so there.
-Ezra is Persian and Mexican; Persian on his dad's side, Mexican on his mom's. No I will not elaborate further
-Chopper is a ferret
-Kallus is Russian/Irish; Irish on his dad's side, Russian on his mom's. There is some very interesting cultural dissonance happening there(except for the booze part. There's a universal language and it's name is alcohol apparently)

This is going to be SO disorganized, ignore me and my rambles no order just everything in whatever order I think of it in.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
TEXAS his name is Lázaro Carlos Jones-Gómez, he regularly goes by Charlie, you can call him Carlos but do not call him Lazaro, he only has that name bc he was baptized with it. If you call him that though you will get his attention immediately bc his brain will think you're his mother (Mex if that's not clear) cause she is the only one who calls him that.
He's a little shit and I love him bc he's my little shit.
I accept no interpretation of him that's white bc why would you do that to him.
I've said this before but he's twins with Coahuila (Mariana Talía) who I can't actually talk about that much bc she's not my oc BUT she is older by 7 minutes, and they share a braincell and a half and usually don’t know where it is :\
speaking of other states he and Nuevo León (Jacobo) get in no less then 3 fist fights a year for absolutely no reason besides they’re idiots and like to beat each other up.
Speaking of fights, Charlie is missing a tooth, has 101 stories of how it got knocked out, most ppl don’t actually know which one is the truth (none of them he fell out of a tree).
Someone take his guitar away I beg, he gets 10 time more annoying when he has it. Which Tennessee (Annabelle) taught him how to play said guitar, everyone hates her for it. He's a decent player, and has a pretty okay singing voice, they're all just sick of listening to him.
Bc I have to have at least 1 very stereotypical thing, he has the largest cowboy hat collection this side of the Mississippi. Give him the most specific event, he has a hat for it.
He didn't talk till he was like 3-4 but oh boy is my man making up for it now, he doesn't stop. Talks with food in his mouth and in his sleep.
Refuses to speak Spanish to most other personifications bc spite but will absolutely be interpreter for any stranger on the street who needs help.
Bc I think it's funny gets to have the 'am I catholic or protestant?' debate.
His first about year of living in DC he barely spoke English and bc of that attached himself to the--at the time--only other native Spanish speaker in the house, Florida complained to Al everyday bc "I'm a babysitter now!" but wouldn't say shit to her Carlito over it ever.
His favorite shows of all time--despite their inaccuracies--are Gunsmoke (1955-75), and Zorro (1957-59)
Speaking of nicknames; Carlito was his main nickname for a long time, used to distinguish him from Cuba. Most of Latin America + Florida still call him that. Carlos = Cuba//Carlito = Texas. He started going by Charlie bc he didn't want to be called Carlito anymore, but being called Carlos felt weird bc no one ever called him that. So Charlie.
He has vitiligo bc I once saw a drawing of someones oc and it legit looked just like how I imagine Charlie and their oc had vitiligo so it just got pressed into my mind.
Also he was one of those kids who was super blond but by the time he was like 12 he wasn't anymore.
So y'all know my hc is personifications have a mom and dad, most of the states (US and Mexican) had 2 human parents and were eventually 'adopted' by Alfred or Rosa.
There are exceptions to that and Coahuila and Texas are one of them, way back when like 1820s Rosa (Mex) and Alfred were dumb and did a thing proceeded to have an extremely panicked nine months and an even more panicked "holy shit there's TWO"
So Charlie gets such a super fun family dynamic we love it for him.
I can't listen to Mama's Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys without crying now bc of him. I love Charlie, he is my son, I've put so much work into him bc I love him.

I am from latinoamérica lol. I understand, no, I live how colorism works in LatAm. Latinos may be racialized once they cross the Río Bravo but not all of them are racialized the same. A Totonacan girl isn't racialized the same as a lightskinned mestiza here and in the USA. White people exist here too lmao, just watch any telenovela and you'll see how many leads are literally white with light eyes. Tony Dalton (which btw is gringo lmao) maybe cast as mexican bc of his heritage but William Levy is cast as the Handsome Guy in telenovelas instead of him because Levy is a white cuban. BrBa and Better Call Saul had a casting full of brown people to fill in their mexican characters this side of the border. They cast short, brown people for characters in Chihuahua/Northern border stand ins where there is a high percentage of native white people. The average norteño has light eyes because of the proximity with the USA. There is no "average" latino in terms of race. The myth of a homogein race in LatAm (the mestizos or mixed people) was invented to discriminate indigenous and black latinos. You think the caste system implemented by Spain has more direct repercussions in our culture than the cultural hegemony implemented by the USA. We are more influenced by the USA than by Spain. Our notions of whiteness are pretty much the same as yours. Funny you picked up El Paso and Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua. As I said, Chihuahua has a larger white community than southern states and its racial differentations are closer to the ones in Texas than the ones in Oaxaca.
I wasn't talking about race when I said Anya Taylor Joy is not the average person with Latin American ties. She grew up in London and speaks English as a native language and first language. I don't know why she's brought up as the face of white Latin America.
I'm a white American with Paraguayan siblings. This is all stuff we talk about at the dinner table. Me and my dad and my white siblings are in a special club. The white club. My Paraguayan step mom and her kids are not in that club in the US. But they could be on TV in Paraguay. In fact, their cousin worked at the TV network there.
When I talk about race in the US census, I'm not talking about beauty standards and telenovelas. I'm telling you there is no "Latino" option on the census anymore. There is "white hispanic" for Spaniards and hispanic Latinos who see themselves as white. And there is "non-white hispanic" for Spaniards and hispanic Latinos who don't see themselves as white. And there is no box for the 2 million Brazilians. So, do you think that is the optimal way to organize US census data about the largest minority in the country? What if a researcher wants to analyze census data about US Latinos including Brazilians and excluding Spaniards?

I find discussions of whiteness in America super fascinating and have read a lot about it and a lot of race theory academics come to the conclusion that there isn’t a white culture in America but I’m not sure I agree bc like what’s the dominant white thing based off of then? looking at my families I’m aware that they r very culturally different tho but my moms parents who both were first gen Americans (3/4ths of my moms grandparents were immigrants from sweden) read as very “dominant midwestern culture” white ppl besides a couple quirks like the black coffee pickled herring vibes. Meanwhile my dads side of the family has been in America since literally who knows like I can follow a google search of family names back to the mid 1800s in New Mexico, and their traditions and attitude r distinctly southwestern and American but strange to the average American. I do think this is a class thing also like my dads family is mostly poor while my moms parents were comfortably middle class and lived in Minneapolis. Like my dads family has very New Mexico food traditions that come more from Mexican and native cultures. I don’t really like my dad or his family tbh and I do think it’s that ultra hardened bootstrappy unyielding attitude that comes from like poverty and a harsh environment like my grandparents were born in Albuquerque in the 30s I kinda cannot imagine. I have this one video somewhere of my grandma in her curlers and robe holding my dad outside their trailer while three old women (probably relatives) are in their Sunday best. My dad talks about how when he moved out of New Mexico in the 80s it was a culture shock being exposed to like 80s music bc the most recent music he had was Led Zeppelin and like his parents religiously listen to ooooold country music. Meanwhile my mom was in Minneapolis like bar hopping with the replacements idk

wait, the vaughn and caspian family tree post has me confused is vaughn a latino king now
yes their family is a mess but technically he has always been one. actually vaughn is under the impression that he's portuguese on his dad side (bc he doesn't know who his dad really is since his mom lied about it), he mentions here that he's portuguese when the truth is he isn't. since cas's dad is also vaughn's dad, that makes vaughn of mexican and native american descent, so yes he's a latino king. it's complicated, their whole family is full of complicated drama!!

Hi, I’m New
I guess I’ll consider this an introduction post of sorts?
I’m a baby brujx who just recently re?discovered brujeria. My mom is white, but my dad’s family is mexican. My grandparents on that side are both dead, my grandmother passing away 23 years ago and my grandfather 3. We didn’t see him a lot, because even though he mellowed out in his old age, he was abusive to my dad when he was a kid.
They assimilated a lot from their native culture to an american one. They did not teach my dad and aunts a lot of spanish, and just didn’t keep some traditions alive.
All of this is to say, I grew up very white. I am white-passing, and when I am not tan, you can’t really tell that I’m half mexican. I have a decent spanish accent from my dad passing on the little bit he knows to me, but I am only able to carry a casual conversation in spanish. There are bits and pieces that survived, like my grandmother’s green chile and salsa recipes, listening to conción mexicana on the radio every sunday, and my dad scaring me with the story of the one time he heard La Llorona.
I grew up catholic (both sides of the family) but always felt a little off with it. I was intrigued by witchcraft, but never felt right delving into paganism and wicca. I looked white and sounded white and was identified as white, but my dad always told me that I was mexican.
I came across the term ‘bruja’ a couple months ago. I knew what a bruja was, a witch from central or south america, but I didn’t know what a bruja was. I looked deeper, and as I learned more, something clicked.
The catholic school I went to when I was young taught me about La Virgen de Guadalupe. The way my father does the sign of the cross with a kiss at the end. My aunts have what I call pseudo-ofrendas with spaces dedicated to deceased family, or the famous ‘Jesus Wall’ covered in crucifixes and saints and the Virgen Mary like alteras.
By learning about brujería, I feel like I am reconnecting with something that was taken from me that I am only now realizing was missing. My journey is just starting, and if you have read this far, you are welcome to join me and give me feedback.
¡Gracias todos!

Who am I? What is Taino?
I have been devastated more and more every day, with the violence that is occurring in this world. It is painful. And I know I try to numb it.
It is not an easy thing to experience for all of us...and so even now I'm struggling to express something about my ancestors that really just...shocks me. It brings me back to the early days of colonization.
I feel shame because my dad is white-passing.
And because of this I wanted to learn more about his background. Who is Puerto Rico in me?
Living in California, people often mistake me for looking Mexican.
My mom is Filipina.
Even though my dad is white-passing, he is Latinx Puerto Rican. That's just how it is, I suppose.
So, being Latinx and not fully Asian, there is that history there of wanting to understand my Latinx side. Because that's who I am.
My last name is Torres, and I don't have white Aunts and Uncles. That's just how it is.
So, through being interested in connecting more with my Puerto Rican side I wanted to learn more about the indigenous people of Puerto Rico.
They are commonly known as Taino, and were considered "extinct" (I don't like that word, but I don't know any other word to use) after the Spanish colonized and subjugated them. After wars between the Taino and Spanish, historians claim that documents between the Spanish colonizers claimed there were no more Tainos left on Boriken (what the Taino called Puerto Rico before the Spanish came).
So basically, Puerto Rico today claims that there are no more indigenous Taino left in Puerto Rico.
Puerto Ricans today have a mix of ancestry from Africans who were brought to Puerto Rico to be enslaved by Spanish, and a mix of Taino Native American heritage, and Spanish (the colonizers who forced themselves on Taino women).
Being that I am light skinned, I do not know nor have heard of any of my ancestors mixed with Africans. However, there is a possibility, in within the past 500 years since Spanish colonization. I just don't know.
The interest in revitalizing knowledge of Taino in Puerto Rico and other islands that were inhabited by Tainos has led to researchers and historians saying that the Spanish were wrong. There is speculation that there were in fact Taino hiding in the mountains, and the Spanish simply couldn't find them.
Nonetheless, the Spanish "intermixed" with the Taino women, and killed many Taino men. And this just ... hurts to know that.
It makes me feel angry and brokenhearted that a great ancestor of mine was forced to be with someone who subjugated her people. And it hurts to know that she may have loved a Taino who was forced to lose his life fighting for his land and his people.
It just another devastating thing that Europeans inflicted on this world.
AND IT HURTS ME. Because I have Spanish in my blood.
And that is the harsh truth.
If you are light skinned OR white passing Puerto Rican who believes in liberation for all peoples, please... tell me.
How does it feel?
How do we heal from this shame?
And how do we protect the people who are most vulnerable, most marginalized (Black Lives) with our hearts, minds, souls, and bodies?
Through the way that we love, through the way that we live, through the way that we eat, breathe, sleep, and work?
How do we protect those who are going through a genocide in Palestine, so that they never have to go through what we went through?
How do we do this?
Please tell me. Tell others.

Do you only speak English to your mom and her French to you? I find it fascinating when people stick to their respective native tongue when talking to each other but still understand each other.
In text I almost always write in English to her because autocorrect goes wild on me if I try and use French. I don’t have the patience (or maybe I’m too lazy) to have two keyboards on my phone that I have to switch back and forth from. My cousins in France will text me in English, too, but that’s more to keep their English in use.
My mother tends to text more in French than English because she messages with her side of the family way more than people she knows here.
She can and does speak/text in English. It just depends on the audience. With us (dad, siblings) she tends to slip in and out of both. But always, always, when thinking out loud or muttering to herself, it’s in French. In person, I tend to mimic her without thought. So, if she switches between languages, I tend to as well.
My first language is English. I completely understand French and Spanish, both spoken and in writing. I can speak French and Spanish enough, but not perfectly. I can hold conversations or get my point across, but I will stumble a bit and get stuck on a word(s). It’s infuriating to be able to understand another language 100% but not speak it 100%.
I was taught Spanish so I could talk with my elders on my father’s side. He’s Mexican-American. While most of his side knows Spanish, they tend to speak English unless speaking to an elder. It makes me sad to think that once the older generation have passed, Spanish will probably die out within the family.

A Question (And More) on the Matter of Human-Elf Relationships
Tumblr media
I’ve had this thought in my head for a while, and I’ve spoken of it somewhat in notes from a couple Windrunner-centric fanfics, but I wonder if the Sylvanas novel will touch on the subject of human-elf relationships. It’s a trope that is popularized from Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings trilogy with Aragorn and Arwen and dates farther back to Lord Dunsay’s The King of Elfland’s Daughter with Alveric and Lizrael, which is most commonly attributed to a male human/female elf pairing, and World of Warcraft is no exception with the likes of Alleria and Turalyon, Sylvanas and Nathanos (however this may be interpreted), and Vereesa and Rhonin.
However, it should not come as a surprise that whenever the Windrunners are brought up in regards to the tumultuous strain Sylvanas - and, by extension, Alleria - have put on the family, the men in their lives are often brought into the fold in snide, disparaging tones. More than once I’ve heard the cracks that “they [human men] are taking away our women!” from blood elf players, remarks that the Windrunners are only known for being arm candy despite having their own goals separate from the men, making assumptions that Arator would be into men the same way his mother and are despite having little development, and calling Giramar and Galadin (and just these two, since AFAIK no one ever brings Arator into this) “abominations” for simply being half-elves. This last part especially hurts me on a personal level since I, as well as my older brother, are of mixed heritage, our father Italian and our mother Mexican with Native American ancestry, and while I’m positive I haven’t heard anything of the like from either sides of the family when they were dating it’s no secret that neither grandparents - or at least my maternal grandparents - weren’t particularly keen on seeing my parents hook up after dating for three months. Or rather my mom’s siblings didn’t want to see her get with my dad; it’s a literal crack ship made real, my mom being someone who’d fit right in with a cheesy Hallmark movie that fits every trope Under the Sun and my dad being cut straight from the cloths of Italian-American gangster period pieces and stoner flicks (and much more that fit into this topic, but for the sake of this piece let’s preserve his youthful years in this particular image).
But I digress. You get the idea.
However, I do wonder how this would translate in-universe with the Windrunner family. We don’t know of Sylvanas and Vereesa’s reactions to Alleria developing romantic feelings for Turalyon in the Second War, but since we know that Vereesa and Rhonin raised Arator once Alleria and Turalyon departed for Draenor and went missing thereafter we can assume the reception was positive. Sylvanas being close to Nathanos, however, whether or not it’s romantically reciprocal on her end or merely of a deep, platonic, unspoken fondness, is met with scorn: Nathanos was always at odds with Lor’themar in life from the moment of his induction as a Ranger Lord (a position that Kael’thas, Renthar Hawkspear, and Halduron were against, if we are to take In the Shadow of the Sun as canon), was discriminated against by the people of Silvermoon in life even as rumors began to spread of the possible romantic developments he and Sylvanas may have had, and in death is callously if rightfully disregarded for his role in the Fourth War, again by Lor’themar. This is especially odd now, in a time where we have the inclusion of an interracial couple involving Lor’themar, a blood elf man, falling in love and committing himself into a relationship with Thalyssra, a woman who was once a night elf - two races that have locked horns and butt heads with each other as far back as ten thousand years ago and were just as recently fighting right outside Suramar’s gates. However, neither is human, but this does bring up the question as to why a blood elf/nightborne coupling is acceptable but a high elf/human is not, especially when you take into account that blood elves and pre-Void ritual void elves are at their most basic high elves in all but magical and political affiliation. Let’s also not forget we also have LGBTQIA+ inclusion with Matthias Shaw and Flynn Fairwind - but again, they are a human/human coupling, not a human/elf, so this throws this double standard into a more glaring light.
Obviously we can assume that the reason why human/elf relationships might be frowned upon in elven society is because of the discrepancies of their longevity. Elves in media are either long-living or immortal and humans maintain their mortal lifespan (unless you’re of the race of Men from LotR, then you’re going to last over two centuries). An answer to this question can be found in the Warcraft RPG, where the scorn and prejudice half-elf offspring face is boiled down to disapproval toward human-elf unions as well as profiling because of their ethnicity: humans are jealous of the half-elf’s extended lifespan, the high elves see the half-elf as proof of their bloodline being diluted, and the night elves are suspicious of the half-elf due to having high elf blood, as mentioned here in this section. Unfortunately the RPG and its supplemental guides are rendered non-canon; the night elf-high elf schism remains, but nothing is spoken of toward human-elf relations, save that the honorbound pact they had established in the Troll Wars waned and then deteriorated after the Second War (although some elves remained in Lordaeron and Dalaran among their allies, disagreeing with Anasterian’s edicts to return to Silvermoon).
This leads me to believe that part of the distaste is military ability, at least where Nathanos is concerned. He was, after all, the first and only human Ranger Lord in Quel’Thalas. But Nathanos is just one person that is seen in a negative light in-universe, whereas Rhonin and Turalyon are looked upon more favorably. If only briefly, I would like to read how Lireesa and the Windrunner patriarch responded to Alleria and Sylvanas getting close to Turalyon (and perhaps Nathanos; while we don’t know what happened to Papa Windrunner, the timeline is very inconsistent in that Lireesa has three separate instances of death that contradict each other at; if we look upon Tales of the Hunt from the Trueshot Lodge, then we can assume Lireesa died during the Second War, so she may or may not have known about Turalyon).
Perhaps through the upcoming novel, we may get a more in-depth look at human-elf relationships through the context of the Windrunner family and how this extends to the blood elf, night elf, and human perspectives. Through them we might have a better understanding how this will affect half-elves, few and rare as they are in Azeroth, emotionally and where they stand in the world in canon proper, and if the same racial prejudices that we encounter in real life are either matched or nonexistent.

[sees your Latino Caboose headcanons, offers him the company of my Salvadoran Locington Siblings] Blasphemy, ik, but Locus cooks just as good as his abuela. Also eyyyy we're 5th generation Mexican-American on mom's side, Tsalagi on dad's, so hi5. (Being hyperspecific just bc I don't want to deal with "but you just said you're Native how can you be Latine" bullshit from random Tumblr ignoramii lmao.)
Oh I wouldn't have questioned it!! I'm 4th gen Mexican-Canadian from my father's side and my Mom's side has been here for-fucking-ever (and a lot of the records got burned in the US national archives fire in '73.) I knew I had Latino ties but I didn't know I was quite that close until somewhat recently, and I've gotten a bit attached to un-whitewashing my life. Even my great-grandpa did that, and he was from Coahuila! 'Tis a shame he changed his name, but I can't blame him - lived in Texas in the pre and post WW2 era. I get why having an Americanized name might make life easier then.
Also, did y'all write those fics? I read some of those! It was fun! I don't subscribe to locington siblings but they were nice regardless! Hard agree, Locus definitely knows how to cook. The scroll-over Spanish translations were really cool too. It's nice to have other fandom ppl exploring the rvb's canon ethnicities and cultures a bit. Been meaning to do a reasearch dive for Locus since he's gonna feature a lot in a fic I wanna write, haha.

facts.
while her mom stayed at home, raising her three children, her dad worked. sam couldn’t say exactly what her dad did, all she really knew was that he was a businessman and whatever it was that he did made him a whole hell of a lot of money. because of their wealth, sam had a hard time making real friends after she became a teenager. see, when people realized how wealthy her family was, they all wanted to be friends with her. it was for superficial reasons, thinking they could take advantage of what her household had to offer like the fancy cars, cool new gadgets, trips around the world on a whim. they even thought they’d be able to rub elbows with celebrities... as if sam’s family knew any real celebrities.
unfortunately, sam’s father was never really in any of the kids’ lives because of his work. he was away often, going back and forth between the unites states and mexico. and though she does talk to him still, she hasn’t seen him in person nearly five years. her mom has always been there for the kids, though, and sam wouldn’t really change anything about their family dynamic. she was kind of afraid of her dad, he’s older than her mom and looks like one scary motherfucker. so even when he was around, she’d still cling to her mom like a sick puppy.
from a very young age, sam learned that her family was different from other people’s families. not only were they wealthy, like extremely wealthy, they were also extremely lax about rules. her mother was always smoking pot and doing yoga, she taught her kids all about weed including how to grow it, how to care for it and make sure it was healthy, how to cut it and prepare it, and how to smoke it. sam was eleven the first time she got high, with her mom and her two older brothers. sure, some may say that was pretty irresponsible as a parent to let your kid get high, not to mention getting them high yourself, but her mom didn’t want her kids to experiment in dangerous situations where they could get into trouble. until weed was legalized, sam didn’t smoke it anywhere but her home.
it wasn’t until her teenage years but sam unfortunately did fall in with the wrong crowd and did get into trouble a lot, but she’d always wiggle her way out of it because she was a minor and cops seemed to think that a few hours locked in a cell would be enough to scare her and her friends straight. nothing was ever put on their records, thankfully, or else she’d have one hell of a wrap sheet.
back at her school in los angeles, the one way she really stuck out was in theatre. she absolutely loved acting, especially in musicals. her voice wasn’t the best but after a few vocal coaches, she’s doing a lot better. she doesn’t want to go on to star in broadway shows or act professionally, she just likes the attention she gets from her peers and those who’ve come to see the shows. anything bigger and she’d probably walk off stage having a panic attack.
she’s kind of a prissy girl, very judgmental, and sometimes really freaking rude, but she a hoe none-the-less. like she’s very selective with who she sleeps with because most guys just aren’t worth the magnificence of her vagina but she’s totally give you a blow job if she’s feeling you... or she’ll let you go down on her, and she’ll make out with just about anybody. especially if they’re pocs because the white man species is embarrassing.
things to know
she started attending luxor academy half-way through her senior year, it was her mom’s alma mater. her test scores weren’t the best to begin with so she had to repeat her junior year. so technically, she should be a sophomore in college but she’s a freshman. since then, her grades have improved vastly.
she was born in mexico and didn’t move to california until she was six years old, so she does have a very slight hint of an accent and she speaks spanish wonderfully ( ooc. i don’t so i will use google translate so pardon if things are incorrect ). because her mother was already a US citizen, she became a UC citizen as well upon moving to california.
her favorite flavor is cherry, doesn’t matter what it is. candy, drinks, lip balm. cherry is her go to.
sam almost always has a piece of candy or gum in her mouth at all times. if she doesn’t, it’s in her pocket to save for a later time. and no, she will not share with you.
she has an extensive collection of dick pics on her phone, from texts or screen graps from snapchat. sometimes she’ll send them to guys who send her theirs without her permission.
there totally was a rumor going around that her boobs are fake, they’re not but she’ll sarcastically swear up and down that they’re real just for the attention.
she is OBSESSED with horror movies and true crime documentaries, she watches them before she goes to bed and then sleeps perfectly sound the whole night through.
