Finished writing lyrics to a song… just gotta wait a long time till I have money for new audio equipment and more importantly, a vehicle for existing.
Lyrics are currently as follows until I get my feature in what I imagine is the distant future, and it’s recorded:
Intro/hook:
I am Hell’s Emissary
Crown Prince imaginary
Holy Maiden of the land
The six wings confer command!
Verse:
Sly as a fox, got them under my hex
You're just an ox, lost and perplexed
Flipping the script, I’m taking control
Using you all, to play out a role
Ride or die, I’m taking the high road
Comply this time, or I’m leaving you deposed
Genocide? Those are just my foes
God on my side, on orders of the pope
There’s no end to my reach
Until you’re deceased
But then I’m the god of the dead
So you won’t find no peace
Till you kneel at my feet
You should envy the life that I’ve lead
If you’d admit your loss
I’d forgive the cost
No requiem ever to hear
Should you carry your cross
The Angel does doth
You have chosen your death to be near
Chorus:
There is no escape
Cocooned within this fate
Soon I will placate
Those who oppose my state
There is no escape
Cocooned within this fate
Soon I will placate
Those who oppose my reign
Verse:
When rain does fall
As tears from cheeks
Blood puddles form
Cold corpses leak
And though enthralled
By beauty sleek
Their blood’s the warm
Tribute I seek
This haunting dance,
Where you careen
Is your futile chance
That’s left unseen
Like a ghost
You’ll trace your steps
You’ve outlived most
So face what’s left
Bridge:
As fire surrounds
Embers scorching the ground
Clearly that’s a vision - it’s a lesson in fear
I would call it profound
As it seems to confound
Even though you’ve lost something so dear
As fire surrounds
Embers scorching the ground
Clearly that’s a vision - it’s a lesson in fear
I would call it profound
As it seems to confound
Even though you’ve lost something so dear
hook:
I am Hell’s Emissary
Crown Prince imaginary
Holy Maiden of the land
The six wings confer command!
Verse:
(Feature’s lyrics)
Chorus:
There is no escape
Cocooned within this fate
Soon I will placate
Those who oppose my state
There is no escape
Cocooned within this fate
Soon I will placate
Those who oppose my reign
Outro:
As fire surrounds
Embers scorching the ground
Clearly that’s a vision - it’s a lesson in fear
I would call it profound
As it seems to confound
Even though you’ve lost something so dear
As fire surrounds
Embers scorching the ground
Clearly that’s a vision - it’s a lesson in fear
I would call it profound
As it seems to confound
Even though you’ve lost something so dear

Hey, guys!
Does anyone else like nerdcore? I've been listening to a lot of Shwabadi, Cam Steady, GameboyJones, daddyphatsnaps, Chi-Chi, Frivolousshara, Mat4yo, and a few other artists.
Any recommendations?

It is kinda funny tht like nonblack teens regardless of generation will attach themselves to a white boy rapper whose music ages like milk... I guess mnm is an outlier bc his music is actually generally listenable which is more than u can say for 21p, wattedskis, ren .....

stupendium appreciation post
Had a bit of doubt if the Stupendium was actually criticizing capitalism or just capturing the spirit of the games when I listened to "The Data Stream" and "The Fine Print" "Rest Employed" but with this one (The Production Line) I'm like pretty sure he is trying to make a point about modern day wage slavery and the unfairness of it all. It's like modern day geek based Karl Marx to appeal to all the gamers. And it's catchy too!! (Reading old leftist books is boring.)
Also can we just talk about the sheer amazement of the animations, the acting, the music, the sound effects, the aesthetics, but most importantly: the lyrics?! I'm a language fascinated nerd, and English is my second language. Nerdcore artists do lyrics so well! (and have given me an appreciation for the rap genre along with it) After every Stupendium song I'm flipping through a dictionary trying to find out what the words I don't know mean, because I love expanding my vocabulary in any language. It's amazing.
And the rhyming on "The Fine Print" is so satisfying it's defining a new genre. I've always been a fan of nerdcore (growing up listening to Captainsparkles, listening to video game songs etc) but the Stupendium is giving the genre actual life and appreciation it hasn't ever seen. I'm telling you, if he wasn't a nerdcore artist making such niche things, he'd reach a far wider audience because he has all of that potential and skill. But I don't want him to. I want him to make whatever he wants to make.
So glad I found this artist.
edit: been informed they go by they/she so heads up

This may be a controversial take, but rap, showtunes, nerdcore, punk rock, and vocaloid are actually very wide genres of music that encompass all different kinds of songs, written by all different artists, from all different walks of life, and I'm so sick of people acting like literally all songs in those genres are identical.

every time i see someone say they hate american rap but they love hypmic im like you FOOL. hypmic has been a love letter to american rap abd specifically the black artists who created the genre the entire time! almost every single song, every album, has blatant and not at all subtle references to it!
the lyricists and composers and producers and arrangers and DJs behind the music alnost universally list black artists as their heroes and inspirations! ive even heard someone try to claim that j-rap doesn't sound anything like western rap, which is completely false. of course there are stylistic differences that will pop up as a result of different cultures, but you can find a dozen american artists with the same style as your favorite hypmic blorbos, i promise you.
like stop brushing off all rap made by black artists as identical just because you don't feel like bothering to find an artist you like! there are so many different types of rap and hip hop! there's old school, gangsta, club bangers, conscious rap, horrorcore, crunk, bounce, g-funk, nerdcore, lo-fi, super melodic and orchestral stuff and mechanically intricate rhymes. there's a plethora if you bother to look!
all this to say. hypmic fans have a real antiblackness problem.

I agree we need a different name for the music where people talk fast but aren't really rapping but everything I'm seeing about the term filk music is saying it's scifi and fantasy music regardless of genre
You can go with other names for it. Nerdcore, comedy music, parody music, fandom music. The point is that there are words for it because, even by the incredibly nebulous metrics of genre definition, there's an entire musical history behind something like The Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate History (which is where I assume people are getting the 'lemon demon rapper' idea from) that is, and this is important, completely different from the history of rap which people are trying to push forward in the wake of the kendrick/drake beef.
I mentioned filk music in particular because, one, the focus on fast talking made it a workable analogue to rap in terms of needing technical and rhetorical skill to do with any measure of success, and two, filk songs are an obvious antecedent to a lot of Neil Cicierega's earlier work under the Lemon Demon name. Using TUSoUH as a way to sidestep the need to care about black music is disrespectful to black music and ignores where Neil C clearly does take musical inspiration from, your Weird Als, your Leslie Fishes, your Tom Lehrers, the history of music as satire, music as fandom, music as a derivation. It shows a stunning lack of interest in, not just black culture and its influence on pop, but on musical history in general.
I studied music in school once upon a time so this just gets to me. The development of music in this country is a beautiful clusterfuck of influences on influences, new instruments opening up new possibilities, economic and political factors influencing art which influence it back. I want y'all to care about rap history and its place in the wider scope of Afro-American history and politics, but also care about it and its place in the wider scope of music history. I want y'all to care about that more than winning a stupid argument about how nobody on this site knows anything about rap, which you shouldn't be trying to win because that's just true.

TsukkiYama Rap: "Jump, Float" | Freeced | Haikyuu!! [Kei Tsukishima x Tadashi Yamaguchi] Some years ago, Shwabadi, who I didn't know very well at the time, asked me if I'd seen a show called Haikyuu. I said, I CAN see Haikyuu, and he said great! Just watch the first couple seasons this week and you can play Tadashi on my Haikyuu cypher. I'd been a fan of Shwabadi's for years at that point, and there was no way I was going to pass up the opportunity for my first big nerdcore collab, so I got stuck in in an attempt to do some quick research.
I didn't know that Haikyuu was about to become my favorite anime of all time, but I very quickly realized that Yamaguchi was going to be my favorite. Not too long after the cypher, I started writing Haikyuu songs of my own, including one for Yams and one for Tsukki. Each one gently hinted at a romance between the two, and I always wanted to do more to show my appreciation for the ship. In the mean time, I wrote about half a dozen more Haikyuu songs, accidentally contributing to my status as the artist who's written more fan songs about Haikyuu than probably anyone. I can't believe it took me this long to write a dedicated TsukkiYama song, but maybe I needed to let the originals breathe for a while. Either way, Valentine's Day came around this year, and I knew it must be time.
Lo-fi songs are always a cozy place for me, both in creation and appreciation, and I wanted to show love to an artist that inspired me a great deal these past couple years, Lupe Fiasco, with a nod to his track "Kick, Push" off the classic album Lupe Fiasco's Food & Liquor. The phrase "jump float" got itself stuck in my head as I was making the beat and eventually wound up as a simple hook that I hoped would evoke the feeling of coasting on a cloud of happy emotions between two people who are young and in love. After exploring the relationship between love and pain in my AkiAngel song, I wanted to do something that was simple and sweet, representing the simple affection between two characters who have known each other for so long that they just feel right whenever they're around one another. And above all else, I wanted to make something cute.
So that's Jump, Float! I hope you love it! I put my heart into these songs every time and it's always so sweet seeing how many folks pick up on that and show just as much love back in the comments and around the net. As long as there are cute gay songs to be made, I'm very happy to be a person who makes them. So thanks for listening! ~Freeced

You talked about liking hip hop, do you have any recommendations for someone who hasn't listened to it before?
UM....this is only a hard question for me because I dunno how I'd even BEGIN to recommend it to new folks but that's only because my taste in it is everywhere so it'd depend on what someone's one tastes specifically are.
I know one rapper I like is Akintoye (on youtube) since his delivery is super clear so you can understand every word and there's just an optimism to his lyrics.
One subgenre I really enjoy is nerdcore and I feel like that's another good spot to kind of test the waters since it overlaps in what interest a person has outside of rap. Like if you like anime, there are PLENTY of anime focused raps. Same for games or comics. It's called nerdcore for a reason. My personal fav is Daddyphatsnaps.
Like every song genre it is very much a "Just click on whatever song title interests you and listen to it for a bit before figuring out if you enjoy it or not" and eventually your personal preferences will develop.

Hola, it’s me again! Hehe
Realmente te preguntaría todo pero vamos con estas:
49, 28, 23, 11, 8! 😊
Hey, Devin here!
Estoy bien! ¡Gracias para tu preguntar!
8. What’s your favorite band/artist?
Oh gosh, I don't really have a favorite! I do enjoy different types of genres of music, if that helps? I like nerdcore and some famous artists that are on youtube are Cam Steady, Shwabadi, DaddyPhatSnaps, etc. I also do enjoy the occasional bout of bardcore. I also enjoy old school pop and rap songs like Usher's Yeah, Flo Rida's Low, and so on.
So maybe... Pitbul, Kesha, Little Mix, etc.
But I'll listen to most anything so long as it sounds good!
11. What color are your eyes?
Dark Brown! Almost black!
Fun fact: I also have a nevus in my left eye, which is a birthmark/freckle in the eye!
Here's an example of what it looks like:
Tumblr media
23. Do you believe in aliens?
I don't believe in the Hollywood portrayal of little green men, but I do believe that we are not alone in the universe. There's been samples of water, bacteria, and so many other tiny microorganisms not from earth! With that evidence, there has to be some other lifeform out there who has intelligence! It's only a matter of finding a planet with a suitable environment that mirrors that of earth and given how the universe is always expanding... It's improbable, but not impossible!
28. How are you, really?
I'm getting better! Honestly! I'm working on myself, I've been taking daily walks, teaching myself some new hobbies, and my depression has been getting better! There are some days when I don't feel like doing anything, but I am a better place than I was a few months ago! :D
49. What does your last text say?
"Yupppp!!! A friend of mine is working as a script/writer??? For some parts??? Can’t wait to see the entire project!"
Thank you so much for the questions and I hope that you have a wonderful day! Hearing from you is always a highlight! :D

Eyyyy I was tagged by @nonbineynaruto bc they are wonderful and know I love talking about my music taste (and yes, most of it is gonna be nerdcore. Because I'm me.)
list 5 songs youve been listening to lately. adding the links so people interested can check them out (ノ´ヮ`)ノ*: ・゚
youtube
Recently my partner and I made a playlist of Positive Protagonist songs together, and this was one of the first I thought of. Now it's constantly stuck in my head again www
(god, I love Spanish rap. It always sounds so fucking good. If you don't want to hear some inspiring jams at least give the second verse a shot.)
youtube
I spent a long time listening to this on Spotify without being sure if it was anime rap. It's just a fucking good song. I want to cover it so bad.
McGwire's been churning out hits lately. I've been listening to a lot of McGwire.
youtube
Ever since I heard this song a few weeks ago I've been unable to stop playing it. Easily one of my favorite things right now. The hook kinda gives me emo vibes, but the rest is hyperpop, and it's just everything. It's everything.
Also ngl, Gameboyjones is kinda cute in this video. Low-key kawaii.
youtube
Not nerdcore, but Måneskin came out with a new album recently and this song fucks so hard.
youtube
Honestly I've mostly been listening to this bc the art in the video is so good and I love looking at it, but also GHOST has been killing it with their Kevin tuning lately. He sounds really good. (For the uninitiated: that's a fucking vocaloid.)
Anyway, I tag (if you're so inclined) @luxion912 , @rybreadu , @lovova, @ghostoftheyear, @cheatingway, and whoever might want to steal it from me
