Current obsession: isometric rooms! love watching people make them in blender. been chewing on the idea of an isometric room/puzzle/horror game that i most certainly will never get around to but I WILL make a room render one day.

i would like blender tips :3

this has been in my inbox for a little bit and since i wrote out one really long post and posted 3 youtube videos ill just list out all the hotkeys i can remember and recommend one thing: using side/front/top view in orthographic view is very helpful for alignment and general shaping since you can kind of work through each side (conducive to working from reference photos where you have a view of the front, side, and back) -- and play with "proportional editing" - if you look it up youll see where the toggle button is. and HAVE FUN!

GENERAL G - grab S - scale R - rotate (while rotating, can type numbers (ex: 90) to rotate specific degrees) X, Y, Z - lock your movement, scaling, or rotation to the x, y, or z axis (respectively) A - select all F2 - rename/rename in hierarchy/etc NUMPAD 5 - toggle orthographic view shift + D - duplicate N - toggle sidebar

EDIT MODE 1, 2, and 3 - switch between vertex, edge, and face mode (respectively) ctrl + B - bevel E - extrude face alt + E - extra extrude options, helpful for when youre extruding multiple faces that are facing different directions F - create face from selected edges G AFTER selection of vertex or edge - enter "vertex/edge slide" mode P - separate your selection into a new object of its own ctrl + R - add edge loops (scroll wheel on mouse to add more) W - cycle through different selection cursor types (box, click, lasso, etc) alt + Z - toggle xray view

OBJECT MODE ctrl + P - parent a selected object to your most recently selected object ctrl + J - (shift select desired objects first) join two objects so they become one I - insert keyframe (for selected object)

Pride Month Tag

I mostly lifted this from @anassarhenisch and thought it may be a good way to list some of my OCs. A good chunk of them are LGBTQAI+ so it may be a decent introduction. I may post some of the others later.

Reg/Regulus - Sort of a lax bisexual. When he was young he was a little more open with his sexuality but a nasty and abusive relationship with a man sort of soured the experience for him, so he mostly prefers women. Since he is immortal, however, I think time can heal some of those wounds.

Diana - Asexual lesbian. She’s my version of the Roman goddess. Reg's boss / friend / companion. Definitely the outdoorsy type, swore a vow of chastity just so the dudes won’t hound her and she can take pleasure in the company of other women. Very kind, strong, and sure. The Gay Mom type.

Nox - Non-binary pansexual. They’re basically the god of Nightmares and takes the shape of a sort of shadowy, non-corporeal impish creature. Gender doesn’t exactly factor when you want to be very loose and open about the form you take. Seldom takes a human form, as it’s very constricting and feels like nails on the skin. Despite being a god of Nightmares, they are very kind and level-headed. Artistic.

Locke: Asexual bisexual. He’s definitely the goodest and softest boy I have. A book worm. Imagine putting Newt Scamander and Milo Thatch in a blender and you basically get him....but also an enormous black dragon that spits acid. He’s a little self-conscious about that. In his human form he keeps his horns, so he shaves them down regularly so as not to appear intimidating. Tends to spit acid when afraid or excited. Has accidentally ruined a few good horror and thriller novels that way.

Azul: Genderfluid pansexual. Child of Locke. A sapphire dragon that loves being in the water. Very straight forward, studious, a scientist. Autistic. Creates a potion that changes gender and takes it frequently. More “adventurous” as a woman. A Caffeine addict.

Cas/Casimir- Gay. Child of Nox. Definitely has an intimidating aura and sticks to a very gothy sort of appearance. Is actually a literal Nightmare, taking on an equine form every now and then. Is a steed of Death, carrying them to the souls that need reaping. While scary at first, he is very gentle and soft-spoken. Has a sweet tooth. Tends to bring comfort and understanding to suicide attempters and tries to talk them out of it.

Fer/Ferris: Gay. Grandson of Reg. Out, proud, and loving it. Very mouthy sort and loves to get experimental in the ways of love. In a band.

And I think that’s all of the more heavy hitters! I’ll probably talk more about them and my other OCs at some point if there’s an interest. This has definitely been fun! Anyone who wants to join in the tag, feel free!
