You tell the boys your story, and the three of you decide what to do next.
"Wake up you rodent!"
The blanket was pulled off you and you were grabbed by the arm. Jisung lifted you up, and you could see the anger seeping through his eyes.
"What did I say about sleeping in? Huh?! When are you gonna learn?"
He let go of you quite harshly and you fell to the floor.
Your hands went over your ears immediately, because you knew he'd pull on them otherwise.
"I-I'm sorry. I w-was so tired f-from yesterday."
He laughed. "Tired? Don't tell me you're softening up? Should we go over your morning routine, again?"
Jisung rolled up his sleeves and crouched in front of you. He was trying to intimidate you, and it was working.
"N-No Sir, please! It won't happen a-again!"
Your chin was roughly yanked up. His sinister smile brought chills down your spine.
"We'll see about that."
You were yanked from your nightmare, and you could see you were in unfamiliar surroundings. Thankfully, you escaped the events that were about to unfold in your dream. Or was it more of a memory? With everything that happened at that house of horrors, you can't quite decipher.
The room you were currently in was not yours, and you vaguely remember the events of the previous day. This is Wooyoung and Seonghwa's house, and they were kind enough to let you rest and eat. You had to get going soon, otherwise they'd think you're greedy and regret helping you.
You glanced at the alarm clock on the table, your eyes bulging out in shock. How have you slept past 12 o'clock? That never happened, you weren't allowed. What would the boys think?
Oh God. Would they think you're doing this to stay longer than you're welcomed? How would you explain this?
Thankfully, your train of thought was interrupted by a soft knock on the door.
"Bunny? Are you finally up? I'd let you sleep more, but I'm so bored out here! Can I come in?"
Why was he asking for your permission to enter his room? He could go whatever he wanted. You were too lost in your thoughts to answer, so he lightly knocked again.
"Bunny?"
"C-Come in." You whispered, hoping he'd hear you.
Wooyoung slowly opened the door and stepped inside. He was wearing comfy clothes that seemed too big on him, but he looked cute. Maybe he'd give you something to take with you when you leave today. His sweaters seemed warm enough for the weather outside.
"Good morning sleepyhead. How was your night?"
You leaned up against the headboard, hugging your knees to your chest.
"I-It was fine. I s-slept well." You cleared your throat and continued.
"W-When can I go? I-I'm sorry I didn't wake up earlier."
He looked flabbergasted for a second.
"Go? What do you mean go?"
"Well... I have to leave today, r-right?"
He was next to you in a flash, grabbing both of your hands and squeezing them tightly. Your eyes widened, and you froze in place.
"You're not going anywhere bunny! I... We told you yesterday that you're staying here! Hwa told me not to talk to you about it before he gets home, but he knows I won't listen."
Wooyoung noticed your stance, so he softened his hold on you. He shuffled closer, placing his head on your knees. You could see the mole under his eye clearly, and he did look adorable. The smile on his face soon reflected on you, and you loosened up.
"Y-You really want me to s-stay?"
He nodded, placing a soft kiss on one of your knees.
"We really do. Hwa said it's up to you in the end, but just so you know, I won't stop until you're ours."
Your gaze now softened. Wooyoung was serious about keeping you, and Seonghwa seemed to be on the same page. The cat was rooted in the spot, not moving his head from your knees, and then you remembered something from yesterday.
Almost shyly, you placed your hand on his head. His eyes widened, but surprisingly, he kept his mouth shut. He didn't want to ruin the moment. After making yourself comfortable, you placed your fingers behind his ear and started scratching.
Immediately, he began purring, and you felt the vibrations from his chest on your legs. His eyes closed, and the cat looked absolutely blissful.
"That's the spot... You're so good at this bunny. I could crash out right here."
Which he literally did. He pushed your knees down until your legs were flat on the bed before he laid himself over them. His head was now on your plush thighs, his arms around your waist. Wooyoung looked peaceful, and you weren't about to ruin the moment, even though you felt a bit nervous.
"Keep going, I'm just getting comfortable."
Your hand went back to his ear, the other one smoothing down his ruffled black hair.
The purrs were only getting louder as time went on. You didn't even know for how long you've been at it for.
Wooyoung shifted on the bed, and you could see his tail swishing more rapidly in the air. The energy changed, and the room became stuffy all of the sudden. You weren't used to this feeling, so you tried moving, but it only made the cat protest.
"No, no, don't stop. I was just about to..." As if he suddenly realised something, he shot up from his position and you could now clearly see the deep flush of his cheeks. His gaze was intense, and you didn't know what to do, or say. Luckily, Wooyung always had something to say.
"That was the best scratch of my life, bunny. I wish you'd let me do it to you as well."
You cowered away a bit, placing your hands over your ears. He wouldn't do that now, would he? You told them yesterday that you didn't want that. Wooyoung sensed your fear, and shook his head.
"Don't worry, I won't do it. I respect your wishes. It's just a shame..." He glanced at your bunny ears again before standing up from the bed.
He clapped his hands excitedly. "Now! Off we go, we have breakfast to make. Well, lunch to be precise. Hwa knows I like to sleep in, but I was too pumped to see you so I woke up really early. But, I didn't do a thing, so now we have to hurry before he comes home."
The cat turned around and went towards the door. He glanced back at you, still frozen in your spot.
"I'll set out some clothes in the bathroom, go change and come keep me company."
With that, he left you alone again to process the last thirty minutes.
He was a peculiar being, and you kind of liked him because of that. He was unapologetically himself, and he showed affection towards others with no problem.
Wooyoung made you comfortable, and you were thankful for that.
You got out of bed feeling a bit lighter, and made your way towards the bathroom. You could hear pots and glasses being moved in the kitchen, so you figured Wooyoung started on lunch.
There was a fresh set of clothes on the washer that smelled strongly of Wooyoung, so you knew those were only his clothes. He probably made sure to scent them even more before he placed them in the bathroom, because you also noticed his possessiveness along with other quirks.
Your morning routine was cut incredibly short because Wooyoung was shouting for you to hurry up every two minutes. He followed up with 'I miss you, I need you here.' and it honestly gave you a headache. You kind of understand Seognhwa better.
"There you are! I was about to pass out of boredom. Look at you! So cute in my clothes!" He sniffed around you, looking pleased with himself. There was still a trace of your scent left, but it mixed well with his. He grabbed you by the hand and sat you on a chair by the kitchen island.
"Now, my little helper, you just sit here and look pretty."
"B-But I want to do s-something."
He crouched down and gently placed his hands on your cheeks, squishing your face and cooing at you.
"You're doing so much just by being here. I won't be so lonely anymore, and that's the best thing you can do."
You looked into each other's eyes, and you had to admit, he was incredibly handsome so up close.
"I w-won't be lonely either." You managed to say.
"Oh sweetie..."
Before you knew it, his arms went around you and he pushed his face into the crook of your neck. Wooyoung inhaled deeply, letting himself enjoy the moment of closeness with someone that wasn't Hwa.
The other thing he noticed was how you made him feel something Seognhwa certainly didn't, and that might become a problem.
He smiled when he felt your tiny hands on his back, unsure, but eager to reciprocate the affection.
"Take your time, bunny. You can hug me, and pet me, and kiss me anytime you want, you know?"
You pulled back to look at his face, now extremely close to yours.
"K-Kiss?"
He nodded. "Yeah, kiss. You know what that is, right?"
"Kind o-of." You whispered.
The grin on his face made him more wolfish than a cat, and you kind of shied away.
"I can show you, you know. I promise you'll like it."
You didn't know what to say. On one hand, his offer was tempting. You were sure Wooyoung wouldn't do anything harmful, but the idea of a kiss was new to you.
"Hmm? What do you say, bunny? Can I show you?"
His finger traced your cheek, slowly going over your bottom lip. He paid close attention to your reaction, and he was pleased to find you almost completely relaxed around him.
His hand went back to your cheek, caressing it softly, before he began leaning down.
You kind of wanted it to happen. You remember the other hybrids at the shelter talking about how they wished they'd get many kisses, and how it was such a lovely thing. You don't remember it being quite like this, but you didn't want to complain. Having Wooyoung so close made you feel kind of warm inside.
The universe seemed to think this wasn't the right moment, because you heard the front door opening.
"Guys? I'm home!" Seonghwa's voice boomed through the apartment, and the both of you froze in place. Wooyoung was quick to snap out of it, going back to the counter and grabbing a knife to cut the vegetables he laid out. You, however, sat completely still, cheeks probably red, and couldn't get a single word out.
"We're in the kitchen! Lunch will be served a bit late today!"
"What? You know I have to go back to the bakery in two hours."
Seonghwa was about to complain some more, but when he rounded the corner and noticed your dazed expression and Wooyoung's tense back, he stopped.
"What's going on?" he asked, pointing at you.
Wooyoung turned around, and now he saw his flustered expression matching yours.
"What? Nothing? What are you talking about? Come and help if you want to eat."
Seonghwa turned towards you. "Is everything okay, Y/N?"
You managed to nod slightly, but he didn't want to pry anymore. There were more serious topics you needed to discuss after lunch.
He went over to Wooyoung and the men made a quick meal for all of you. There wasn't any conversation flowing between you after they encouraged you to take a bite like yesterday.
It wasn't until Seognhwa was washing the dishes that he cleared his throat and got your and Wooyoung's attention.
"I suppose you've already told Y/N about our offer?"
Wooyoung nodded rather enthusiastically from his spot on the couch. You were perched on the sofa, too far away for his liking, but you were still apprehensive about your little encounter.
"That I did. Ask her hyung, please, please!"
Seognhwa put down the dish towel he was holding and made his way over to the two of you. He sat beside Wooyoung, who was gleaming from joy.
"Well, Y/N... We know you have had a tough time, and we figured you'd be safer with us here. Wooyoung needs a friend, and I find you really lovely. What do you say about staying with us permanently?"
You glanced at them, keeping quiet even though your thoughts were scattered. Wooyoung has made it clear that he wants you here, and now Seonghwa only confirmed it. Could you really start over with them?
"I... I w-want to stay, but... T-There's nothing special about me. I-I'm not fun to be around."
The cat's eyes widened, and he dropped to his knees in front of you, holding onto your legs as if you'd disappear any second.
"Don't say that! You're so small and soft, and so pretty. And! You give the best pets. I'm sorry Hwa, but this girl right here, she's a pro."
The blonde man chuckled at his hybrid's antics. At least he managed to bring a small smile onto your face.
"You hear him Y/N? Wooyoung thinks you are special, and so do I. It's up to you in the end, we won't force you to stay. If you want to go, then-"
"No! Absolutely not!" Wooyoung tightened his grip around your legs and shook his head.
"Woo, let go of her. We need to let Y/N answer for herself."
Wooyoung got quiet, but he didn't let go. You somehow knew he wouldn't, and you didn't mind.
Thinking it over in your head, the logical option would be to keep living with them. You wouldn't be in fear 24/7, and you would always have a warm bed, and some company. You were starting to like the black cat, and Seonghwa seemed like a person you could trust. He wasn't like other humans you've met, but you doubted there would be anything worse than Jisung.
Speaking of him, you probably had to tell them about yourself and your situation. You were still legally Jisung's, and that could cause problems.
"I-I'd like to stay here w-with you."
"Yes! Oh yes, yes! Thank you bunny!" Wooyoung shot up from his place on the floor and practically climbed onto your lap. It was a tight fit on the sofa, but you moved around to accommodate him. Seonghwa watched with amusement at you, coming to sit on the floor in front of you both.
"That's wonderful. We can take you shopping tomorrow, you need new clothes. Although Wooyoung wouldn't mind sharing his, I still think you need your own wardrobe."
You lifted your head from the cat's chest and gazed into Seonghwa's kind eyes.
"Are you sure? I-I can manage with anything."
He nodded. "Absolutely. You deserve it."
Seognhwa took a deep breath before continuing.
"Now comes the not so fun part. We need to know what happened to you. Do you have an owner, or are you really a stray?"
Even though you knew the question was coming, it didn't make it any easier to answer. Wooyoung stoked your arm and it encouraged you to start telling them your story. Surprisingly, your voice didn't tremble one bit.
"I lived at a shelter before Jisung came and adopted me. He seemed nice enough, and I really wanted to have a home to call my own. It didn't take long for him to show his true colours... Life with him..." You kind of got lost in your thoughts for a moment, but the boys didn't pressure you to go on. They waited until you took a couple deep breaths, and Seonghwa intervened.
"It's okay sweetie. You don't have to go into detail, we kind of get it now. You, and Wooyoung, have to realise that we can't just keep you here. It wouldn't be legal. We have to find your owner and get him to sign over the paperwork."
Your eyes widened and you de tangled yourself from Wooyoung.
"Please no! Please! I can't see him again, he'll take me away!" You were now on your knees in front of Seonghwa, pleading with him, hands clasped together.
The poor man didn't know what to do. Seonghwa knew this wasn't going to be easy.
"I'm sorry sweetie, but we can't do this without him. We can give it a couple more days, but we risk losing you forever if we keep quiet about it. If we look at this from a legal perspective, it will seem like we stole you from him."
"That's not fair! That's pure crap!" Wooyoung's ears were now pinned straight on his head, and his tail angrily swished behind him. The boy was angry, and if Wooyoung managed to get so angry, it was serious.
"I'm sorry Woo, but I'm just stating facts."
Seonghwa carefully took your hands in his, sensing how stressed you became. Your nose was twitching constantly, and your fluffy bunny ears were down turned.
"Y/N, I promise you, I will do everything I can to make you ours. We won't give up on you. As I've said, let's give it some time before we do anything drastic. We'll let you settle in, but then we have to get serious."
You sniffed, and tears were about to fall out of your red eyes.
"But what if he wants to take me back? I don't want to go with him Seonghwa."
If you weren't in such poor shape, he'd feel even better hearing his name coming from you in that sweet voice of yours. But now was not the time, so he took a chance and wrapped his arms around your small frame.
"We're not giving you up. If he wants to fight, we'll take him. Isn't that right Woo?"
The cat was behind you in a flash, wrapping his arms around Seonghwa's, squishing you between them.
"Yes, absolutely. I won't let him have you bunny. You're ours now. Don't think about the bad stuff anymore, from now on, we're going to be so happy together. To celebrate-" He stood up and went over to Seonghwa's bag on the counter.
He rummaged around and Seonghwa groaned.
"-We will be going shopping right now! We can't wait until tomorrow, we want to make our bunny happy. Ah, here it is!"
He pulled out Seonghwa's wallet and took out what seemed to be a credit card.
"This right here is Y/N's ticket to happiness! Come now, we have to hurry! We've got a long day ahead. You don't mind Hwa, right? I mean, you're practically rich, so let us enjoy it."
"I work hard for that money, you know?"
Wooyoung pulled you away from his, no, not his, your owners hands.
"I know. And we will appreciate it even more, isn't that right bunny?"
You didn't know what to say, so you just nodded.
"See, we agree. Now, let's go! We'll see you tonight Hwa!"
Wooyoung quickly pulled you out the door before you had a chance to protest, and off the two of you went. It gave Seonghwa a chance to assess their situation in peace.
They wanted you with them, that much was certain, but what about your owner? He must be a bad man, otherwise you wouldn't have ran off. They had to build a good case and present it to a judge. That way, they could have you without much hassle. It would be better for you as well, seeing how easily frightened you became at the thought of going back to your previous home.
He had another half hour before he had to make his way back to work, and an idea popped into his head. It was time to use some of his friend's legal skills. With his phone in his hand, he dialed a number he knew by heart. After two rings, the person on the other end picked up.
"Hey there Hongjoong, how are you? Good, good... Say, would you be interested in taking on a new hybrid case?"
.
.
"Do you want a blanket? I can share my kitty one, but some nights I like it all to myself. Oh! We can sleep in the same bed, that way we can both have it at the same time!"
Wooyoung was too enthusiastic about this shopping trip. The rollercoaster of emotions you went through didn't seem to phase him, or maybe he was just trying to distract you from thinking about anything as well.
It was working, to some degree.
You were now in a random store, picking through shirts and pants for you. There was an obvious colour pallet of soft pinks and lilacs going around, and Wooyoung couldn't get enough of making cute outfits for you. It was a stark contrast to the black mini skirts and tight tank tops Jisung made you wear.
After two bags filled with clothes, you moved on to some personal things for your room. You'd obviously have to share with Wooyoung, according to him, so you could pick something to add to his shelves.
You were interested in the colouring books, so he picked those up, as well as a bracelet making kit. He said you'd do it together, and make the three of you friendship bracelets.
"I can sleep on the couch, you know? It's your room after all."
He almost looked offended by that.
"On the couch? No, not a chance. We're sharing now, I want to do it. Unless..." He looked kind of sad.
"Unless you don't want to? I can be a bit much, I know... But I really want us to stay together."
Maybe even the confident cat needed some reassurance from time to time. You came close to him and took his hand in yours.
"I think I will be just fine."
He quickly covered his surprise with a smile, which you mirrored back at him.
Before you knew it, your hands were filled with bags, your feet were killing you, and your stomach hasn't stopped growling for half an hour.
"W-Wooyoung, I think I'm done shopping for today. I don't know how you enjoy this."
Only then did he notice how worn out his bunny was.
"Oh baby! Come on, let's head back. We need to decorate our room, pack your stuff, cook dinner.. If Hwa comes home to an empty stove he'll crash out." Wooyoung giggled, and you sensed this wouldn't be the first time he'd made Hwa wait for his meals.
As soon as you opened the front door, you could sense a delicious aroma going around the apartment. Seonghwa's shoes were on the rack, so you figured he didn't want to wait for Wooyoung to come back and cook.
"Hey! Did you have a good time today?" You heard his voice before you rounded the corner trailing behind Wooyoung. Seonghwa was already seated at the kitchen island, a variety of delicious side dishes and a stew spread across the surface.
"We had the best time! Thank you for your money hyung!" Wooyoung placed a kiss on top of Seonghwa's head before sitting down next to him.
"Is this what kisses are like?" The boys looked over at you, and Seonghwa was confused. The cat next to him froze for a second.
"Well, yes. Wooyoung likes to give kisses. You can tell him no if he tries."
"Maybe... Maybe I'd want one too."
The boys looked at each other, a bit surprised. Well, Wooyoung wasn't, because he knew if Seonghwa hadn't come home when he did, you'd be long past kissing. If you asked him, that is.
"Y/N, do you want kisses?" Seonghwa asked.
You nodded, too afraid to speak up. This wasn't something you'd usually do, but looking at how happy they were, you wanted to try it out.
Before Seonghwa could even stand up, Wooyoung was in front of you, holding onto your cheeks. You looked up at him, and his gaze almost made you melt.
"You're gonna get different kisses than Hwa, and I hope that's okay."
You were confused for a second, before you felt it.
The light peck he left on your lips.
It was fast, and it felt more like a soft touch than a real kiss, but it still happened. The two of you looked at each other, and you hoped your cheeks weren't flaming red. Wooyoung's certainly were.
"Hey Woo, you can't just kiss the lady like that. You have to ask for-"
"It's okay, Seonghwa." You interrupted him before he got too angry at the silly cat. Wooyoung let go of you, and you made your way to your potential new owner. You weren't as comfortable with him as you were with your fellow hybrid, but that was expected. You did, however, find him ridiculously beautiful and kind, and you knew your bond would grow stronger.
"I... Wooyoung is the closest thing I've had to a friend in a long time... He makes me feel... Safe. You do as well. I hope you don't mind me doing this, but I want to show you how thankful I am."
You leaned over and kissed him on the cheek, catching his eyes afterwards. He was smiling, and his eyes glazed over.
"Thank you, sweetie. I'd also like to give you a little kiss, is that okay?"
You nodded, and Hwa gave you a tender kiss on the cheek as well.
"Oh come on hyung, you call that a kiss?"
"Shut it kitty cat or I'm taking Y/N all to myself tomorrow."
Wooyoung gasped, starting to ramble about how unfair life was, and many other things you couldn't quite catch on.
Dinner was great, and you ate with a smile on your face. The boys helped you unpack afterwards, and Hwa put all of the clothes in the washing machine. Tonight you'd wear something of theirs again, but tomorrow you'll be in your own jumpers and shorts. You chose them yourself, and that was the most important thing.
Afterwards, all three of you took turns in the shower before Hwa came into your room to settle you for the night.
This will be your first night sleeping with Wooyoung, and he looked more than excited.
"Now remember Woo, let the girl breathe. You can cuddle, but you can't squish her. Ask her before you try, please. And no funny business, I'm serious."
Seonghwa looked like a mom scolding her child, but Wooyoung didn't mind. He only nodded, making sure you were settled in before coming closer to your body.
"Can I cuddle you, bunny? Only till I fall asleep, then you can roll me over!"
You nodded, finding it funny how he eagerly made the two of you comfortable. His strong arms wrapped around your middle, and his head rested on top of yours.
"There we go. Kick him if you need to Y/N." Seonghwa stood up and turned on the little night light across the room.
Before he went out, he called your name again.
"I've spoken to a good friend of mine today. He's a hybrid law student, and he's going to help us with your case. We've got the best or the best here, so you'll be officially ours in no time."
Your eyes softened as you watched him, and you couldn't believe somebody you've met a couple days ago would go through such a hassle for you.
"Thank you, Seonghwa. You're the best."
"That he is! Good job hyung!"
"Oh will you let me have a moment with her? Thank you Y/N." He sighed when he saw his cat pouting.
"Thank you Wooyoung. Now go to sleep."
He shut the door to their room and left them to their own devices.
Today was a big day for Y/N, so Wooyoung made sure to tone down the conversation as much as he could. That didn't mean he could stop talking altogether.
"I'm so happy right now I could jump around!"
You smiled. "Please don't, I'm too tired to watch out for you."
"You? For me? Oh that makes me feel special." He laughed.
His arms tightened around you, and he let out a satisfied sigh.
"You're our bunny now... My pretty bunny..."
With that, the two of you fell into a deep sleep, and for the first time in forever...
You didn't have any nightmares.

The Final part will be out sometime next week, so stay tuned to see how their story turns out. :)

5 times Fresh acted like an animal, and 1 time Color 'Got it.'
[first chapter - prev chapter - next chapter]
beta read by @/calamarispider
[UTMV fic] Contains: Platonic Fresh & Color, Fresh & Killer, and Color & Killer, misunderstandings, abuse, food warning [forced to eat dog food] [4,000~ words]
“What would you do if you got out?” It took Fresh a moment to realize it hadn’t imagined Killer speaking. “Nightmare knows we all want out. Saying something to me can’t make this any worse with him.” “I don’t know, run off? Hide in a ditch? What do you want me to say?” Its voice got scratchier and more rough as it spoke, leaving it to end the sentence coughing. Killer was quiet as he watched it, his eyes those same empty black pits. “Okay.” He finally said. What was that supposed to mean? He believed it? Got what he wanted? Just felt like saying that? It stifled a growl and just silently followed him.
Fic undercut or on ao3!
“You look tired.” From behind him; Killer, he recognized instantly.
Color turned to look at him, smiling something small, “how can you tell? You were looking at the back of my skull.”
The other didn’t answer, just slinking closer so they could settle their head on his shoulder, and their hand on his other. Color laughed; the slant of his shoulders told them all that? Trust his closest friend to always notice when he felt off.
“Is it really that bad…?” He asked. Sometimes it wasn’t. They were scarily observant, and when they pointed things out to Color, it wasn’t always something anyone else would notice.
His hopes were dashed when Killer huffed, annoyed, “Yes.”
“Sorry about that…” Color said, lifting a hand to cup Killer’s cheek, “you know why.”
He leaned into the touch, but let his eyes fall half-lidded in a ‘done with this’ expression. “If I’d know you’d want to keep it, I wouldn’t have brought it here.”
“Hey!” Color chided, “don’t talk about Fresh like that. And I’m not ‘keeping it,’ it just… needs a little help getting on its feet. I’m sure it’ll strike out on its own when it’s feeling better.”
Killer gave him a piercing stare [it resembled all his other expressions, but Color could guess the intention]. He was still happy they felt comfortable enough to get snippy with him; it hadn’t been too long since Killer got away from Nightmare, and any agency they showed couldn’t help but make him smile.
“Okay,” he huffed, “even if it doesn’t, I’m happy to give it a place to stay. You know that.”
They wrapped their arms around his shoulders, more of a hug than the lean they were doing beforehand. “Yeah yeah, just the type of monster you are.” The words were blasé, nearly apathetic, but Color knew there was affection underneath. It made the guilt worse.
“Yeah.” It felt bad to agree, when he knew Killer clearly felt a little jealous of all the attention Fresh was getting, but he really couldn’t do anything else. Even without the six Soul’s influence, he didn’t think he could leave a monster to flounder without help, let alone one as clearly traumatised as Fresh.
“I’m going out tomorrow,” Color said, instead of any of the words he’d wanted to about duty or greater good, about how really, he was sorry, “just ah, to get clothes for Fresh. Want to come with?”
A silent stare, so he knew Killer was really considering it. Finally, just before he could take it back, affirm that Killer didn’t have to do anything they didn’t feel comfortable with, they answered, “sure, Color. Sounds good.”
He smiled. It’d be nice to spend some time with his best friend.
———
He woke early, because he knew he’d need that sort of energy.
Any type of routine was difficult to manage for him, after so long in a space without time or need for anything of the like, but he thought he’d been getting his morning routine pretty locked down lately. Brushing his teeth, getting dressed, cooking breakfast- all things he’d struggled with right when he got out of the void, but not as much these days. It made him feel good, that he’d made such clear progress, hopeful for those he was helping to be able to do the same.
Of course, there was more than just him who relied on that routine [probably the only reason he tried so hard with it]. With that in mind, he knocked on Killer’s door, letting him know breakfast was ready.
They were opening the door before he even stepped back, already awake and waiting. A little unsettling, but he knew Killer just liked to follow the routine they usually did, even if it wasn’t enforced at all; that meant, of course, leaving his room when Color went to fetch him for breakfast.
“Breakfast is on the table,” he told Killer, already moving to Fresh’s room. Killer followed him instead of heading to eat right away— a clingy mood already, probably because Color promised to hang out.
“Joining me?”
They gently pushed their shoulder to his as they walked, a silent confirmation. He smiled, “Got it.”
He gently rapped his knuckles against the door, with a warning that Killer would be joining as well.
Fresh made an acknowledging noise, and he wondered if everyone woke up before him.
Just like always, when he entered it regarded him with wide eyes and an attentive posture. Nothing too nervous though, and he smiled at it, glad Killer’s presence didn’t seem to be a problem.
“Morning, Fresh.”
“G’morning.” It mumbled back. It eyed Killer and gave him a slight dip of its head in acknowledgment, to which they regarded it with a blank stare in turn. Neither seemed to be blinking.
“Ooookay-“ Color interrupted, “Got breakfast! Bacon and eggs good?”
It turned its attention right back to Color at that, giving him a shaky nod before standing up, silent in its movements. It was almost alarming how such a large and imposing monster just disappeared into the background.
On the way to the dining table, Killer and Fresh regarded each other again with nothing but a quick meeting of eyes before their attention went back to him, and he wondered how well they knew each other from before they got out from Nightmare’s thumb. There had to have been a little affection on Killer’s half, else Color didn’t know why he’d decide to take Fresh with him at all. Neither showed it though, barely even acknowledging the other ever, so he wondered if his theory was wrong. Still, the little glances could mean anything. He knew they were both very clever.
They made it to the table before the silence got too awkward, and the three settled in to eat breakfast. He passed Killer the bottle of ketchup for his eggs before he asked.
“We’re, me and Killer,” he said, once they were all sat, “going out to buy you some clothes. Got any preferences?”
It shifted awkwardly at that, frozen with a fork halfway to its mouth. “Uh- I’m good with anything, man.”
“It likes colorful things.” Killer said as Color was trying to figure out how to press for more info without spooking it.
“Killer,” he hissed, though there was no vitriol. While he did trust Killer to be right about things like this, he just… wanted Fresh to feel the agency of choosing to reveal facts about itself. Make it feel like what he got for it was its choice.
Killer had no remorse on his face, though he did do a token, “sorry.”
He sighed, though didn’t push further. There was no was no way he’d be able to stay mad at him anyway, and they both knew it.
Looking back at Fresh, it had a pinched look on its face, eyebrows pressed downwards and mouth in a frown. When it noticed him looking, it quickly schooled its face into something more ‘open’ looking [though he doubted it really was].
“Were you confused on something?” He asked.
It was silent for a bit, but after a glance at Killer [for support?], it mumbled, “You ain’t mad? That sorry was sooo off base.”
There was a well of sadness in his chest at that. Did Fresh think he’d get angry at Killer and treat them as badly Nightmare assuredly was when he himself got mad at the two of them?
“No, no,” he reassured it, “I love Killer, he’s my best friend- I just got a little annoyed is all. And even if I did get mad, we’d talk it out.”
Fresh hummed, the picture of easy acceptance, but he could tell it was going to be mulling that over for a while underneath the surface.
Coughing into its fist, it changed the subject, “I do like colorful things- brighter the better.” More shifting, eyes catching sneak peeks at him before skittering away. He made sure to smile encouragingly. It couldn’t keep eye-contact. “The sweaters you let me borrow were pretty rad too…”
“I’m glad to hear that,” he smiled wide, something settled in him knowing he didn’t shove it into anything it didn’t want to be wearing. His eyes couldn’t help but drift to the collar at that, but he didn’t linger. Anytime it caught him staring it would clutch at the tag and press it close to itself— whatever meager comfort it brought to it, he would never understand. That was okay though, he wasn’t going to force the issue.
It nodded, shy, and didn’t say anything else, fully focusing its attention on breakfast. He didn’t press, letting it retreat out of the conversation.
Breakfast was done quickly and he was left feeling satisfied for more reasons than how good the eggs tasted. Progress was made today, which he was glad for.
Killer had already ambled out of the room, in the direction of the door most likely. Before Color left, he turned to Fresh.
“We’ll only be gone for a few hours, hope you don’t get too bored without us.” He laughed, “you have free reign of the house, just don’t go into either me or Killer’s rooms without a good reason, yeah?”
It nodded, giving him a thumbs up, “you got it. Same as always.”
He… did usually give the same spiral every time he left. “Sorry sorry, repeating myself here” He laughed, “I’ll get outta your hair. Bye Fresh.”
“Ah- see’ya.” It said, awkwardly.
He took that as his cue that he’d probably started to overwhelm it, and left to follow Killer out.
He’d left it alone in the house a few times already— things were going to be fine, he reminded himself.
Killer bumped shoulders with him as he got out, and he smiled, relaxing at the support. With his best friend at his side, things felt a lot more manageable. Maybe it really was going to be okay.
———pov: Fresh———
It woke to a kick to its side, and a sharp hiss from above ordering it to get up. It sounded like Killer.
The other must have been on pet duty. Usually he didn’t feel so energetic to it though. Maybe that was because it felt so awful today— it must’ve not woken up when he’d first tried to rouse it. Everything felt kind of hazy, a rare occurrence even though it just woke up; it was almost always quick to categorise its surroundings, it had to to survive.
His hand curled around its collar and dragged it up. Speaking back was usually useless, and it didn’t really want to deal with whatever power trip Killer was on, so it went limp. He wasn’t allowed to harm it too much, so it had some leeway to make his life difficult, at least until Nightmare got back from his trip and heard about its attitude.
This was doing nothing for the phantom of throat pain it was already dealing with, and it choked down any coughs. It needed to look unaffected— coughing and spluttering would be the opposite of that.
A pull, “get up.” The sharp words weren’t helping Fresh want to work with him anymore than the painful tugging.
Still, it noted something; a hint of genuine emotion colored his words. It hadn’t seen that with Killer often, the other usually a mask of empty cheer. “There’s even something innit for you.” He continued.
It regarded him with a half-lidded stare, asking, “What?” in a voice sounding a bit gravelly, and it forced itself not to cringe. Even after years away from its normal act, things that contradicted its image still got to it.
It tried to ignore the discomfort, focusing on the moment at hand, Killer’s offer. There wasn’t much that interested Fresh these days, except the possibility of escape; it highly doubted that was what Killer was suggesting.
“Got a special treat to go with your food today.”
Boring, bordering on insulting. Treating it like a mangy mutt excited for a bigger slice of meat, as if it wasn’t still going to be rotten.
“It’s going to be dog food either way.”
“Cat food.” Killer corrected.
It regarded him like he’d said something particularly stupid, but didn’t argue further. Whether it was dog food or cat food, neither made the idea of a treat alongside it any better. “Fine, fine. Lead the way, ‘boss’”
Killer didn’t take the bait like the other two would. Maybe he really didn’t care how similar to Nightmare he acted. He just pulled harder on its collar until it had no choice but to get its feet under it. At least it could be comforted by the fact Killer was going to be punished for leaving bruises on its neck.
Once up, Killer wasted no time in clipping its leash to the collar, before setting a brisk pace to the kitchen. A no-nonsense attitude. It was both better and worse than the others. They, at least, seemed uncomfortable interacting with it. Still, it meant there was less hesitance, that things would be over with quickly.
It wouldn’t have been able to keep pace if its legs weren’t almost double Killer’s in length. Normally it didn’t have trouble with that, but its joints ached and it felt a headache forming. It didn’t want to be doing this right now.
Its feelings on the matter didn’t matter though, not to anyone but Nightmare anyway [and he certainly cared about them in a way wholly unhelpful to it]. They found themselves at the entrance to the kitchen much quicker than Fresh would have liked.
Killer looped the leash around one of the many knots of stone and wood the castle seemed to  have in abundance [courtesy of being made by Nightmare, a plant adjacent… thing, Fresh thinks], and started prepping Fresh’s ‘meal.’
It hesitated to call it that. Meals were supposed to be alive, squirming, and, most importantly, containing magic. What Nightmare had scheduled it to eat whenever he was gone was not that, not in anyway at all. The cheapest dog or cat food one could buy, usually smushed up with a spoon and mixed with kibble. All served up to it in a little red dog bowl, only labeled ‘pet.’
Another way to demean it, Fresh was sure. When Nightmare was in, he’d only feed it new hosts or sweet treats Nightmare was enjoying himself. An association the guardian of negativity was trying to brute force into existence, that he meant it was getting fed real food.
It stubbornly refused to wish Nightmare was here so it wouldn’t have to eat this horrid mixture while sick just to spite him, resolving to be extra awful to its ‘owner’ when he got back.
Of course, if Killer really was giving it a treat along with its dish, that could throw a wrench in things. It couldn’t see any reason Nightmare would want it to associate good things with anyone but him.
It was shaken out of its thoughts by the sound of Killer setting the bowl down on the floor. It was the usual fare, though something about it seemed… off.
“And the treat?”
“It’s in there.” He pointed at the bowl of slop. So the treat was a lie.
It huffed, but settled on the floor and picked up the bowl to start eating anyway. Killer, similarly, took a seat at the kitchen table.
It couldn’t really refuse to eat, even if the meal served no purpose further than making it suffer. Nightmare would be less than happy to hear it wasn’t following one of His orders. Egotistical prick.
It tipped the bowl and resolutely ignored as much sensory data as it could. It was the same as always, but it couldn’t help but think Nightmare got it the most putrid smelling wet food he could find because he knew its sense of smell was strong. Unfortunately it had no nose to pinch, so it just tried not to breathe until it was done.
It could feel Killer’s eyes burning into it as it finished. The gaze didn’t wander as it coughed and gagged, nor when it pushed the now empty bowl back in his general direction. What a creep— not as bad as Nightmare, but that would be impossible.
There was a slight, almost imperceptible, sweet after-taste. It didn’t believe Killer would actually put a treat in, so maybe it was a placebo. It didn’t have time to linger though, because Killer was already wrapping the end of the leash back around his clawed hands. And well… tiny sweet aftertaste didn’t make up for the fact that the rest of it tasted rancid.
“What would you do if you got out?”
It took it a moment to realize it hadn’t imagined Killer speaking, and another to understand he was talking to it.
“What?” Fresh hissed, eyes narrowed. The words just screamed ‘trap.’ It would make the rest of the day make more sense too; Killer could definitely be trying to influence it into disobedience with the treat and the extra emotion in his voice could be from the stress of the plan.
He didn’t respond, just looking at it with his awful empty eye-sockets. It glared back, spines raising as he didn’t elaborate or back down.
Eventually, seeming to realize he wasn’t going to get anywhere unless he gave in more, Killer said, “He knows we all want out. Saying something to me can’t make this any worse with him.” There was a gentle tug on the leash, a silent continuation it could practically hear in the air ‘and not answering could make things worse with Killer.’
“I don’t know,” it grumbled, annoyed, “run off? Hide in a ditch? Go back to eating people? What do you want me to say.”
Its voice got scratchier and more rough as it spoke, leaving it to end the sentence coughing.
He just hummed, and it felt like tearing something apart with its teeth. Would it kill someone for these people to say what they thought aloud? Did they get some sort of sick thrill in leaving it confused?
“Okay.” He finally said. If it wasn’t so frustrated with the lack of information it had, it would find that fascinating. What was that supposed to mean, ‘okay.’? He believed it? Got what he wanted? Just felt like saying that?
It stifled a growl and just followed him silently.
——
It couldn’t stop thinking about the day before Killer took it here, to live with him and Color. Looking back, the signs that something strange was going on were so obvious. He was just digging for information on how it would act once he took it here— see if it would be a good gift for Color, it now knew.
The fact that he did, took that short and angry response and decided it was worth it to steal it away as a gift for his… for Color, it didn’t know how that made it feel.
Insulted, to be treated like a commodity to pass around, or… it shook its head, it couldn’t be thinking about this right now. Already it could hear the gentle knock at the door; Color, coming in for their morning routine and inviting it for breakfast.
It did as it was bid, replying with polite little one-word answers to all his questions, ignoring how Killer was at Color’s heels. Not regarding them with suspicion like it wanted too. Clearly he was Color’s favorite— it couldn’t get on his bad side.
It kept trading glances with Killer as they made their way to the table, wondering why he decided to follow so closely to Color’s morning routine to even follow him to its room. They gave nothing away, of course, and it nearly stuck its tongue out in annoyance. Nearly, of course, because it still didn’t know these monsters’ preferences, no matter its best efforts. Nightmare would have found the brattiness cute [except the times he very much didn’t], but it couldn’t get a read if the same would hold true for Color— and Killer, but he wasn’t in charge, so it didn’t care for his response much.
The meal turned awkward when a question aimed at it, and that it thought it’d answered… not well, but good enough, was answered by Killer as well. Color hadn’t said he wanted Killer’s opinion.
It froze, carefully still as if that would make it turn invisible. It barely kept in the stressed squeak when Color berated Killer and they gave an absolutely lacklustre apology; Killer was valuable, liked, Color’s favourite, so of course he wouldn’t punish him, but what if Color decided to take out his anger on Fresh instead…?
There wasn’t any type of explosion though, and Color didn’t even seem particularly angry. Just a bit miffed at Killer’s actions. That was- that was just weird!
The emotion must have shown in its face, because Color was asking if it was confused. It felt stupid, but quickly hid anything negative before it could get too annoying.
A response was probably still expected though. It looked at Killer, who didn’t seem stressed at all, and it nervously asked, “You ain’t mad? That sorry was sooo off base.”
There was something so soft on its owner’s face, it felt a little sick looking. “No, no,” he cooed at it, like it was a skittish animal, “I love Killer, he’s my best friend- I just got a little annoyed is all. And even if I did get mad, we’d talk it out.”
That was… really weird. Best friend privileges maybe? It really couldn’t see a world so nice to it that that courtesy would extend to it as well. The information was still useful though, so it stashed it away.
It couldn’t focus on that right now though, remembering the actual focus of the conversation. He’d appreciate it keeping on topic, hopefully. “I do like colorful things- brighter the better,” It mumbled, eyes darting towards him nervously as it tried to gauge his reaction. Neutral still, so it flaked on some flattery, “The sweaters you let me borrow were pretty rad too…”
There it was, a wide satisfied smile. It relaxed as it heard his next words, “I’m glad to hear that,”
Thankfully, it didn’t have to navigate any mine-fields as breakfast was finished and Color told it all the rules for when he was out.
“You have free reign of the house, just don’t go into either me or Killer’s rooms without a good reason, yeah?” He reminded it. He always mentioned the free reign of the house everytime, and it could hear a hidden order when it was given one— it would be expected to not be in its room when he was out. An easy enough task.
After some painfully awkward farewells, it skittered off to the living room and to the couch in front of the TV. It knew it was probably allowed on the furniture, but didn’t really want to do so when Color wasn’t there to invite it on.
Instead, it carefully settled behind the couch, pressed in-between it and the wall. Small and comfortable, a perfect place to wait until Color got back.
It smiled to itself, feeling proud of how well it had been doing recently. Maybe it could even get as much affection and leniency as Killer. Maybe it could even get more. A pipe-dream, but… it wanted Color to look at it like that too.
Only for its safety of course. Having his affection, his attention, his soft smiles, gentle laughs— it shook its head before settling more comfortably behind the couch. Now was not the time for those thoughts; it didn’t know how it was supposed to compete with Killer and… it already lived a life more pampered here than nearly all its time with Nightmare.
It let itself relax and get ready for its long wait. It liked this. It didn’t need to sully it with even more wants.

ʚ Part 5 ɞ
❥ CW: chubby fem reader x buff guy, LOTS of dialogue, a little bit on innuendo
❥ A/N: hello!! This chapter got LONG sksksk but it was fun to write and I hope you all enjoy it!!
Tumblr media
You go to work as usual on Monday. The day is normal, save for the several texts you receive from Guy throughout the day. It's on your break when you're finally able to see all of them.
Guy: Hi
Guy: It's me
Guy: 1 Attachment
Guy: This was my breakfast
Guy: Do you like photos of food? Would you like me to send more of them?
Guy: 1 Attachment
Guy: This was my lunch
Guy: I hope you are just busy with work and are not ignoring me. That would hurt.
Guy: Please let me know when you get this
"Jesus Christ," your coworker says, scrolling through the messages again. "He's clingy. The food does look good though."
"What should I say?" you ask.
"Well, I would say 'hi', and then maybe 'I am at work, I can't talk right now', and then maybe 'I will text you later'."
You sigh, taking your phone back and writing him what your coworker suggested.
Guy: I understand. Can we talk tonight? I would enjoy speaking with you on the phone
Y/N: Sure, we can talk tonight. Maybe we can chat while I make dinner
Guy: I would like that
You put your phone away, taking it out again once you get home.
Y/N: Hey, I'm home if you want to call
Almost immediately after you send the text, your phone rings, 'Buff Guy' showing up on your screen. You bite your lip, flicking the 'answer' button.
"Hello?"
"Hey." His voice is so deep over the phone, making you shiver. "How was your day?"
"It was fine. Nothing exciting happened. What about you?" He sighs.
"It was boring. I hated it." You hum.
"The mystical life of a CEO, huh?" He chuckles and your stomach flips delightfully.
"Yeah, exactly." The two of you go quiet before he clears his throat. "I... I missed you today." You arch your brow.
"Oh really?" He hums in agreement.
"So much."
"Hmm."
"Did you miss me?" he asks. You pause, thinking.
"Actually, yeah. I did. I missed seeing you when you come in for coffee. I missed making your drink like usual. I spent all day making dumb cream-chinos and lattes."
His breathing turns heavy. You can even hear him swallow.
"Guy? You okay?"
"Yeah, uh... I'm really sorry but I need to go."
"Need to go? Already? We've only been talking for five minutes."
"I know, I'm sorry but... something's come up."
You pout, but you're thankful that he wasn't there to see your sad expression.
"Okay, I understand."
"Wait."
"Mm-hm?"
"Can we please talk tomorrow? I'm sorry for cutting things short tonight, but I promise tomorrow will be different."
"Hmm... okay. But don't make this a habit."
"I promise I won't. I'll talk to you tomorrow."
"Okay."
"Goodnight."
"Night."
You pull the phone away from your ear, hitting the 'hang up' option. You find yourself alone, disappointed that your call couldn't go on longer than you wanted.
Tumblr media
The next day, Guy calls again around the same time.
"Hi."
"Hey, Guy."
"I'd like to apologize again for last night." You hear shuffling on the other end of the line. "I didn't want to end the call so suddenly, but I had things to attend to."
"It's okay."
"What are you up to?"
"Well, I was going to make dinner."
"What will you make?"
"Baked spaghetti," you say with a smile.
"That sounds really good."
"Mm, well, maybe if you play your cards right, I can make it for you some day."
"I would be honored." You laugh, pulling out a pot.
"Hold on, I gotta get some water. I'm gonna put you down for a bit."
"Okay."
You place the phone on the counter, beside the sink. You fill the pot with water, taking it to the stove and turning the stove on. You picked your phone back up again.
"Hey, I'm back."
"I missed you." You snicker.
"It was, like, two minutes max."
"I still missed you." You hum, waiting for the pot to boil.
"So, what exactly do you do as a CEO?" He grunts.
"Nothing important. I mostly hire people and encourage them to actually do their job right."
"Ah, okay. So why did you have a business trip?"
"I am hiring an executive to represent our company in this city, so I'm interviewing people this week."
"Ooooh."
"It's all very boring. Tell me about your day." You scoff, grabbing the spaghetti from the pantry.
"It wasn't anything special. Just made drinks, like usual."
"Was anyone mean to you?"
"No, everyone was nice. The crockety old man who comes in for an extra-dry cappuccino made with almond milk was actually pretty decent today. Apparently today is his anniversary."
"Oh, that's nice. How long has he been married?"
"I didn't care enough to ask."
He laughs, deep. It makes you smile as you add the pasta to the water.
"What did you eat today?" he asks.
"Hmm, I had two coffees at work and..." You think for a moment. "Oh! Yeah, I ate half a sandwich from the shop next door. I'm saving the other half for lunch tomorrow."
"That doesn't sound like much."
"It wasn't, but I wasn't that hungry."
"Please take care of yourself," he continues, "at least while I'm not there."
"What are you, my dad?" There's a pause on the other end of the line.
"Do you want me to be?"
"Oh my god, WHAT??" Your eyes are wide, staring into your living room. "Are you being serious right now? Please tell me you're not being serious."
Laughter erupts on the other end of the line and you groan.
"You're fucking with me, huh?"
"Exactly."
"Fuck you."
"Some day you will."
"EXCUSE ME?! HELLO?! WHO DO YOU THINK YOU'RE SPEAKING TO?!" He laughs again, louder this time and you growl. "If you keep this up, I'm just gonna hang up."
"Haha, no, no, I'm sorry. I'll stop." You sigh, pressing your cool hand against your warm cheek.
"What did you eat today?" He hums in thought.
"I had egg whites for breakfast with some avocado. I had a turkey burger for lunch. And then for dinner I had salmon and a salad."
"Hm. Can I be honest with you?"
"Always."
"That sounds boring as hell." He laughs at that.
"How so?"
"Egg whites? Turkey? Salmon? Where's the fun in that? Eat some carbs."
"The turkey burger came with a bun."
"And I bet it was whole wheat, huh?"
His silence answers your question and makes you laugh hard, throwing your head back.
"Oh my god, I'm right aren't I? Oh my god, that's so funny."
"You're very smart, you know that?" You hum, pulling the spaghetti sauce and shredded cheese from the fridge.
"I'm just good at predicting things."
"And yet you couldn't comprehend that I like you?" You pout.
"That's different."
"Not really." You hear some fumbling and a distant sigh. "I'm sorry, my coworker is calling me. Can I call you back?"
"Yeah, sure. I gotta put my spaghetti in the oven anyways."
"Alright. I'll talk to you soon."
"Bye."
You hang up, sliding the phone across the counter. You strain your cooked pasta, adding sauce before pouring it into a glass dish and covering it with a layer of mozzarella cheese. You put it in the oven for thirty minutes.
Guy: I'm sorry. My coworker got so drunk that now they're sick. I have to attend to them. Can I call you tomorrow?
Y/N: Yeah, that's fine :(
Guy: I'm so sorry about this. Please believe me when I say I would much rather be talking with you than dealing with a puking coworker
Y/N: I understand. Goodnight
Guy: Goodnight
You eat your baked spaghetti in silence.
Tumblr media
Wednesday comes and goes, but before you can go to bed, Guy calls you.
"Hey," he begins, "I'm sorry about last night. I hope you can forgive me."
"I guess I can. It was just lonely." You hear him sigh deeply.
"I am so, so sorry for doing that to you, Y/N. I'm so sorry I put you through that. I hate disappointing you."
"You've only done it a couple times so far," you admit.
"I know, and each time is torture."
Silence fills the line before you hear him shuffling on the other end.
"Are you done with me?" he asks. You sigh heavily.
"No. I just need to lower my expectations, I guess."
"Please don't," he pleads. "I promise this isn't normal for me. I don't want you to ever feel like you're settling with me. I want to give you everything you want and need, I want to make you the happiest woman in the world, I—"
"You know," you interject him, sitting up in bed, "you're much more talkative over the phone." You hear him huff.
"It's easier to tell you how I feel when I don't have to face you."
"That's really weird."
"I know," he sighs. "I just... you know, my throat closes up when I'm around you. I feel like I'm going crazy when you're in front of me, especially when I smell you or see you smile. I feel like I'm losing my mind."
You cross your legs into a sitting position.
"Keep going," you say, and he takes a deep breath.
"When I first saw you, I thought I had met an angel. My feelings cemented themselves almost immediately. And then you smiled at me and took my order and your voice was so sweet."
"Are you attracted to me?"
"Immensely."
"In what way?"
"Do you want details or should I be generic and just say you're beautiful?"
"Details."
You hear a deep breath, then a sigh.
"You're radiant," he begins. "You're starlight. I look at you and I see a goddess. Your hair, your eyes, don't get me started on your body."
"Talk about my body."
You hear him swallow.
"Have you seen yourself? You're gorgeous. I love your body, your curves. I can't stop staring at you no matter how hard I try. I..."
"You what?"
"...I think about you, a lot, late at night. I want you so badly sometimes it makes me feel insane."
"You want me... sexually?"
"Isn't is obvious?"
"You're hard to read." He chuckles.
"You know, I get that a lot, actually."
"Gee, I wonder why." He laughs louder.
"I like how sarcastic you are. It's cute."
"Be honest with me." He goes silent as you speak. "Are you interested in me just because you want to fuck me?"
"No," he says sternly. "I could never have you in just that way. I need all of you, every last bit. I want to make you mine."
"Ah, so you're possessive."
"Only of you."
You glance at your clock, realizing the time.
"Oh, shoot. I'm sorry, I gotta go, it's getting late. I gotta open tomorrow."
"I understand. Can we continue this conversation tomorrow?"
"Sure, if you want."
"You say that a lot, you know that?" You pause.
"Does it bother you?"
"No, but I don't want you to do things just because I want to. I want you to do the things that you want to do."
"Trust me, I do. I'm just trying to be considerate."
"I appreciate that." You hear shuffling on the line. "I'll let you go. Goodnight."
"Goodnight, Guy."
You hung up, plopping back down into bed, snuggling into your sheets after plugging in your phone. You think about Guy, about the things he said, as you drift off to sleep.
Tumblr media
Thursday seems to go by slower than the rest of the week, probably because you were opening. Guy doesn't text you very much either, which you find disappointing.
You initiate the call tonight.
"Hello."
"Hey."
"Is everything alright?"
"Yeah, everything's fine. I just wanted to talk to you."
He gives a breathless laugh.
"Really? You did? You're not fucking with me?"
"No, I'm not fucking with you."
"Wow..."
"What's 'wow'?"
"I'm just... I thought I was annoying you. I didn't expect you to want to talk to me. I felt like you were doing it just to be nice, not because you really wanted to."
"Oh..." You think for a moment. "I'm sorry I gave you that impression, Guy."
"It's okay. I was the one who assumed you weren't actually into me." He clears his throat. "You... are into me, right?"
"Surprisingly, yes."
"'Surprisingly'? What does that mean?"
"Well, I thought you'd be shallow and selfish, because I assumed all gym guys were like that, but you're pretty down to Earth. You're sincere."
"Do you—"
"Yes, Guy. I like it." He chuckles.
"You know me so well already."
"I know some of you."
"I want you to know all of me one day. I want you to know me in your bones."
You gulp, clearing your throat.
"Well, aren't you the romantic."
"Can I ask you something?"
"What?"
"What do you like about me?"
You don't expect the question, but you think about it regardless.
"Well... I've told you before, but you're very handsome. I like your muscles. You're strong, so you can protect me from big scary monsters." He laughs, and it makes you smile. "I like your laugh, and the way you smile. I like that you're straight-forward, because I need that sometimes. I'm not always the brightest."
"Don't say that. You're very smart."
"I didn't realize you liked me for the longest time."
"That doesn't mean you're not smart. I don't like when you talk like that."
You huff, rolling your eyes.
"Say you're sorry."
"What?"
"Say you're sorry to yourself."
You glance around the room.
"I'm... sorry?"
"That wasn't very convincing."
"What is this? 2nd grade? Why are you—"
"Y/N."
You sigh, tossing your head back and staring at the ceiling for a moment before recovering.
"I'm sorry for not being nice to myself."
"Good. Thank you."
"Are you done parenting me now?"
"Yes ma'am."
"Good. I don't need to be scolded anymore tonight."
"I wasn't scolding you."
"Sure, Dad."
"That's 'Daddy' to you."
"OH MY GOD, NO, STOP." He's laughing, loudly. You imagine him throwing his head back, a hand coming to his chest to steady himself.
"Messing with you is so fun." You grumble.
"Meanie."
"Aw, don't be like that. It's all in good fun."
"I know, I know."
The two of you go quiet again. You yawn audibly.
"Tired?"
"Yeah. I was up so early today."
"I'll let you get some sleep. I hope you have a good day tomorrow."
"Thank you."
"Goodnight."
"Goodnight."

"So what exactly are we?" you ask as you answer the phone on Friday night.
"What happened to 'hello'?"
"Please just answer me."
"I thought we were dating."
"Like, exclusively?" He pauses.
"Have you been seeing other men?"
"No, hell no. Have you been seeing other women?"
"Of course not."
"Then are we exclusive?"
Silence, again.
"I'd like to be," he whispers. You twist your mouth before pouting to yourself.
"I'd like it too." You hear him exhale.
"Then we're on the same page."
"I guess so."
"Y/N?"
"Yes?"
"I wanted to ask you properly in person, but I'll ask now: will you be my girlfriend? Exclusively?"
You feel butterflies in your stomach. God, you felt like a teenager again.
"Yes. I'll be your girlfriend." You hear him grunt, and you twist your face in thought. "What was that?"
"Oh, uh... I did a fist-bump."
You laugh, loud and joyful, and he laughs too.
"Alright, boyfriend. Tell me about your day."
"Ugh, it was boring. I found the proper candidate and offered them the job, but they haven't replied yet. They're going to say yes, but I hate having to wait to make everything official."
"I would hate to have your job."
"Thanks. That makes me feel so much better."
"I'm sorry!" you giggle. "I would just hate to be at the top of a company and have to make all these big decisions and being bored."
"Congratulations. You just summed up my whole job." You laugh again, and you imagine him smiling. "Tell me about your day."
"Ah, it was fine. I have tomorrow off which is nice. I'll sleep in and hang out at home and just relax." He hums.
"Can I take you out tomorrow?"
"Hmm, where you wanna take me?"
"Honestly?"
"Yes, honestly."
"I'd like to go with you to the gym." You furrow your brow.
"The gym? Why the gym? Are you trying to tell me to lose weight?"
"God, no. I like you the way you are. But I like the gym and I would like to spend time with you doing something I enjoy."
"Did you not enjoy dinner or the movie?"
"I did, I did. Please don't get the wrong idea. I just... the gym is a big part of my life and I want to enjoy it with someone I care about. It would be a lot more fun than going alone."
"Hm. I guess I can see where you're coming from. But I'm not going to the gym to 'lose weight'. I'm gonna go there to take care of my health. Got it?"
"Yes ma'am."
"Good. What time were you thinking?"
"Well, I usually go in the morning before work, but if you want to sleep in we can go a little later, since I also don't work tomorrow."
"Soooo what time?"
"What time do you want to go?" You hum.
"Maybe after ten. I'd like to sleep in until at least nine thirty."
"How about you wake up at ten and I pick you up at ten thirty?"
"Oh my god, that would be perfect."
"Good. Can I take you to lunch afterward?"
"I would like that."
"Where would you like to go?"
"Hmmm, I wanna go somewhere to get a sandwich. Do you know any good places?"
"I know just the place."
"Awesome. Sandwich city, here I come." He chuckles at that.
"Are you going to get ready for bed soon?"
"Oh, I'm already ready for bed. Just need to turn off the light and I'll go to sleep."
"Sounds nice. I need to finish unpacking and then I'll get ready for bed."
"Would you like me to let you go so you can unpack?"
"...Not really. I wish I could just talk to you forever."
"Talking to you this week has actually been really nice. You're fun to talk to."
"Thank you."
The line goes quiet before you yawn.
"Someone's sleepy."
"Can't help it! I'm all snuggled into bed."
"Hm, then I'll let you go. Then you can sleep and I'll pick you up in the morning."
"Okie dokie artichokie." He laughs.
"Alright. I'll see you tomorrow. Goodnight, Y/N."
"Goodnight, Guy."
You hang up the phone and plug it in, turning out the light and rolling over.

You Can Have It - Chapter 1
Alpha!Feysand x Omega!Reader
chapter 2 | series masterlist
Story Summary: You've been a baker for 75 years, and are finally moving on from the Winter Court to the City of Velaris to start your own bakery after your grandmother passes. After your grand opening, the High Lord and Lady of Night become daily visitors to your bakery for months, every day having your most popular pastry- one that increases fertility for a short time. All the while, the two alphas want nothing more than to call themselves yours.
Warnings: A/B/O dynamics, death (brief and non graphic), most likely a LOT of future smut, this is a pregancy plot fic so keep that in mind
Words: ~4.2k
*Reader is a half peregryn, half high fae, presenting as a peregryn with white wings, with white blonde hair and ice blue eyes from her Winter Court father
*Title taken from Chelsea Cutler's 'You Can Have It,' I feel like the general vibe of the song works well with how Feysand will react to reader (with less alcohol)
Author's Note: It's heeeere I'm so happy! No Feyre or Rhys yet, but we'll get there in the next chapter or two. I'm so excited to build up the bakery and upstairs apartment, and the grand opening will be fun! I hope you guys like this chapter.
18+ only pls

“I love you, Nanna. I’ll never forget you, and all that you taught me. I will miss you so, so much. I’ll see you in the next life, but you go have fun for now. Go make all the pastries that you ever dreamed up, bake and make people happy, just like you did here, Nanna. I love you,” you whispered as your grandmother’s chest stopped moving, her soul leaving with her last exhale. Tears streamed down your face as you kissed her hand one last time.
“Y/N, we need to move her,” Viviane said softly from behind you, placing a hand on your shoulder while avoiding your wing.
“I know,” you sighed, squeezing your Nanna’s hand one last time before standing. She led you out of the room and out of the infirmary altogether, taking you from the place where you had spent months tending to your grandmother as she slowly died, a curse that was spilling through her veins for so many years.
“Have you packed everything yet?” Viviane asked you as the two of you walked back to your quarters near the kitchens.
“Everything besides what I use daily, but it shouldn’t take me more than fifteen minutes. Are you still willing to winnow me?”
“Of course, Y/N. I wouldn’t have anyone else do it, not after all you’ve done for us,” Viviane reassured you with smile. The two of you were already at your room, and Viviane stood in the doorway as you packed up the rest of your things. “You know you could go to one of the villages nearby, or even have your own shop in the market here. You don’t have to move out of the court…”
You sighed. The two of you have had this conversation multiple times, the outcome always the same: you’re still leaving. “I know, Viviane. And I would stay, if… if everything wouldn’t remind me of her. She’s been my only family for the majority of my life, the reason I lived here, knew you in the first place. I can’t… I can’t see her ghost around every corner, right now.”
“Well… If you ever want to come back, you know we’ll be happy to have you, no matter what. And don’t even think about trying to repay us, I will have Kallias send the gold straight back to you if you do,” Viviane said as she watched you. “And you promise to write to us and let us know when you’re ready for us to visit, yes? Your shop does not even need to be open for us to visit, your company is worth the travel.”
“Yes, Viviane, as soon as I feel settled I’ll write you for a visit.” You had finished packing, your belongings fitting in two leather travel bags. All of your life you had rebuilt in the past six years was now contained to such a tiny space.
You took one last, longing glance around the room that had been your home for the past six years, and the first twenty five of your life as well. So many memories, most of them happy and including your grandmother. Loosing a sigh, you finally turn to Viviane and pick your bags up.
“I’m ready.”
Viviane came to your side and grabbed your arm, and then the two of you were slipping through the fabric of the world, making a few quick stops between the Winter Court and your destination. Your new home.
Velaris, the City of Starlight.
In the five years since the victory against Hybern, the city had been opened to visitors and, in select cases, new citizens. You were lucky enough that Viviane is friends with Morrigan, and that you were employed by and friends with Viviane. She was able to secure you the right to move to the city, and a business license that was cleared pending an interview with Morrigan on your arrival. In less than a minute, the two of you were outside of a cozy looking townhouse, set on a busy residential street and near the river that split the city in two. There was a thin layer of snow covering the ground, and the city looked like a winter wonderland.
Viviane raised her hand to knock, but before she could the door had swung open, revealing a gorgeous blonde woman in a red dress and high heels with a wickedly sharp heel that would most likely cause you to topple over. Her scent, cinnamon and a sweet citrus, was calming, and very clearly alpha.
“Viviane! I’m so glad you could make it!” The blonde, Morrigan you assume, embraces your friend tightly for a few seconds before letting her go and turning to you. “And you must be Y/N! Welcome the Velaris, I do hope the city ends up being what you’re looking for.” Her tone was sweet and excited, and her chocolate brown eyes held such warmth that you couldn’t help but trust her.
“It’s nice to finally meet you, Morrigan. Viviane has told me so much about you,” you say as you take her hand in yours for a handshake.
“Oh, call me Mor dear, Morrigan makes me feel like I’m being scolded! Now, come in, we’ll get that pesky little interview out of the way and then we can go take a little tour of the city, maybe find you a place for your bakery.”
The two of you follow her inside, and you’re struck by how… cozy and homey the house was. You weren’t sure what you were expecting, what with your opinions on the Night Court having shifted drastically in the past few years, but this was definitely one of the best outcomes.
Hopefully you would be able to find a space to create as your own, make it feel just as if not more welcoming than this house.
“Sit, sit,” Mor says as she leads the two of you into a sitting room, taking your bags and setting them on the floor next to a couch, before taking a seat on the chair opposite it. Viviane sits on the plush couch, and you follow suit, the lower back of the couch perfect for your wings to rest over. “So Viviane tells me you want to start a business here in Velaris?”
You nod your head in confirmation. “Yes, I would like to open a bakery, if there is availability for a new one in the city.”
Mor smiles, and it’s warm, like sunshine. “I’m sure we can find a suitable place not too close to another bakery or café. Viviane has told me you have experience in the baking field?”
You swallow, a lump suddenly in your throat. You’d known this would come up, it was inevitable, after all. “Yes. I was the head baker Under the Mountain for thirty years, after my grandmother had irritated Amarantha one too many times. I was her pastry sous chef assistant for the twenty years before that as well, and I started baking at six years old.”
“And how old are you now?” Mor asked.
“I am 81, currently,” you answered quickly. “I hope that isn’t an issue?”
“Oh, no, no,” Mor shook her head. “I am sorry to hear that you were forced to work for Amarantha for so much of your life. I do hope that you find working in Velaris to be much more fulfilling, and nicer.”
“I- Are you offering me a business license? Just like that?” You asked incredulously.
“Yes, I am Y/N. Kallias and Viviane have both vouched for you, they believe that you are more than capable of running your own business. And they’ve told me that you take care of the baked goods for all of the High Lord’s household. I trust that you will be successful, based on their testimony alone. Hearing that you worked Under the Mountain, though…” Mor paused. “Knowing that, as well, you will be a fine business owner.”
An invisible weight was lifted off of your shoulders. You are a resident and future business owner of Velaris now. “Thank you, Mor. This opportunity means so much time,” you say gratefully.
“It’s no problem, Y/N. Now, would you like a tour of Velaris and to see where you’ll be staying for the moment?” Mor asked as she stood from her chair.
You followed suit, smoothing the skirt of your dress as you did. “That would be lovely, Mor. Viviane, are you able to join us?”
“No, I should be getting back to Kallias soon, we still have a few winter parties to finish planning and he prefers to have my input,” Viviane replied, following you and Mor out of the townhouse. She stepped toward you for one last hug, holding you tightly in her arms until you pull away. “If you need anything, Y/N, write to me.”
“I will, Viviane. Thank you, for everything.” Tears pricked your eyes, even though you know you’ll see your friend again, likely in the next couple of months. “I’ll write to you even if I don’t need anything, too, keep you updated on my life here, Viv.”
She lets go of your arms, stepping back slightly. “You’d better, Y/N. I want to know all the juicy details, especially if you find an alpha,” Viviane said teasingly. The other omega knew how badly you craved to have an alpha, a love strong enough to tie you together and eventually have a family with them. The sex of the alpha doesn’t matter to you, just that it’s someone who understands you, and values you despite your submissive personality and ‘lesser fae’ status, someone that you love equally.
“I’ll make sure to keep you informed on that front as well, Viv,” Mor chuckled, and you threw a playful glare in her direction. “What? I figure you might like to have a friend here, and I have to warn you, I’m a bit of a gossip.”
Viviane laughed, “‘A bit’ is an understatement, Mor. Take good care of my girl, okay?” Mor nodded, giving Viviane a hug as well before the silver haired female winnowed away.
“We’ll leave you bags in the townhouse for now, I’ll come back and get them later for you once you’re settled in your hotel,” Mor says, taking you by the arm and walking away from the townhouse, leaving you no choice but to follow. She took you first to the Palace of Bone and Salt, a commercial area dedicated to fresh and dried meats, spices, baking goods, along with any cookery and bakeware you could ever need.
There were a few shops already that you were dying to go in to, you’d never had much of a chance to pick out your own pieces of bakeware, let alone enough to stock a bakery. There were so many different options that you wanted to explore, but you knew you could wait to lose yourself in the possibilities until you were alone. Next Mor showed you a few shops, ones for clothing items, bedding, shoes. A bar named Rita’s, which she promises to take you to after you’ve settled. Then her favorite restaurant, a small, cozy placed named after its owner and chef, Sevenda. The heavenly smells coming from the windows were enough to convince you to return for takeout later tonight, even without Mor’s enthusiastic recommendation.
And then you were in the Palace of Thread and Jewels. A section of town dedicated entirely to fabrics in every shade of every color imaginable, huge tables covered in glittering gems, an amount of wealth you had never seen displayed so casually before. People were milling about, and you tucked your wings as close to your back as you could manage, not wanting strangers to brush against them any more than necessary.
There were a few shops dedicated solely to custom gowns, their displays filled with gorgeous dresses decorated with intricate embroidery and small gemstones that shined like the stars. You had never before considered wearing such fine clothing, but now you wanted to feel the slip of the fabric over your body, experience how it feels to be dressed like a princess.
Someday. Someday I will save enough money, and buy a beautiful gown, all by myself, you promised yourself as you let Mor lead you across a bridge on the Sidra to the next Palace.
This one was the Palace of Flame and Steel, a district reserved for weaponry, armor, building materials and tools, as well as a few competing construction guilds. Mor guided you to one of them, apparently the one that the High Lord and Lady had trusted to build their new home next to the Sidra.
“Ah, Marcus, I would like for you to meet Y/N,” Mor said, and Marcus extended his hand to you. His scent was soft, pine trees and fallen snow- an alpha. You take it, noticing his strong but gentle grip. Your shoulders relax slightly, wings spreading slightly.
“It’s nice to meet you, Y/N,” Marcus said in a friendly voice.
“The same to you, Marcus,” you reply, a slight dusting of pink on your cheeks. He is rather handsome, for a High Fae.
“She will more than likely be needing your services, Marcus. Y/N here is planning to open a bakery somewhere in town in the next couple of months,” Mor informed him with a bright smile, one that he flashed back at her, and then turns it toward you. Your breath catches slightly in your throat, and you instinctively smile back at him.
“That sounds nice, I always enjoy a new place to eat at,” He said, still grinning at you.
“Well, once I’m up and running you’ll be more than welcome to drop in whenever you want.”
“I’ll look forward to that day, Y/N. Come back once you know where you’d like to build or renovate, and we can draw up some plans together, okay?”
You nod your head in agreement. “I’ll make sure to do that, Marcus. Thank you.”
“Yes, thank you Marcus,” Mor said as she led you out of the shop and back towards the Sidra. Once you were a few buildings down, she asked, “So, do you think he’s cute?”
Your face flushed, and you managed to push out an “I suppose…”
“He’s pretty niiice,” Mor sings, still tugging you along the road next to the Sidra. “And he doesn’t have an omega.”
You shake your head at Mor. “I know Viviane mentioned me finding an alpha, but that’s not really my goal at the moment Mor. And I can also find my own alphas,” You say lightly, tugging on her arm as you did. “Also, you move fast, already trying to set me up.” Mor laughed at that, and you giggle a bit as well as the two of you continue walking, passing cute houses and apartments as you do.
“Well, you’re possibly the cutest single omega in the city at the moment, and Marcus truly is a kind male. And you needed to meet him anyways, for any building needs related to your bakery.” Mor stopped in her tracks, holding you in place by your arm. “This, is the Rainbow,” Mor announces to you.
You gaze around, taking in the colorful buildings that housed everything from painting studios to dance halls. You spied quite a few art supply stores and pottery shops as well, everything so beautiful that your eyes couldn’t choose just one place to land.
Mor draws you further in to the artistic section of town, walking more slowly than any other area you’d gone through today, and you had your wings tucked in tight behind you to avoid brushing against the other fae. Your eyes catch finally on a beautiful painting, one of a cosmic green light fall in the night sky, and you stop moving, taking in every brush stroke on the canvas as quickly as you could. It took your breath away, it was such a magnificent rending of something you could only wish to witness.
“Ah, that is the High Lady’s rendition of Starfall this year,” Mor tells you once she saw where your eyes had locked onto. “Feyre is a magnificent artist, she even hosts classes whenever she has the time, if you’re interested.”
You tear your eyes from the painting to look at Mor. “Oh, I don’t think I’d be any good, really. The most my artistic skills stretch beyond baking is for sketches of my baking,” you laughed, turning to continue your tour once more. “And I’d like to get the bakery up and running before I do many extracurriculars.”
“That makes sense, I suppose, but it’s a good thing to keep in mind. Feyre lets me sneak wine in, so even if my painting turns out terrible, I still have a great time.” The two of you were near the end of the colorful street when you spotted it.
The perfect location, right next to the river and on the edge of the Rainbow was a small one story building, a for sale sign in the window. The building looked decrepit, nearly ready to fall down in your opinion.
You pulled Mor in the direction of it, and let go of her arm to walk around the back of the building.
The view was absolutely lovely, the noise of the river soothing to your ears. You stretched out your wings as you closed your eyes and just listened for a moment, ignoring the noise of the people behind you. Snow was covering the open space behind the building, mostly untouched compared to the streets you had been walking on with Mor.
“Would I be able to buy this lot?” You asked Mor as you spun to face her. “This feels like the perfect place- and there aren’t any other cafés in the Rainbow, as far as I could tell.”
“Of course, Y/N. This building just went up for sale, as well, the previous owner retired a couple of weeks ago.”
You smile at Mor, your eyes sparkling brightly. “Just my luck, then. Do you know about how long it would be for the sale to go through?”
“It should take no more than a few days, Auric seemed very ready to get rid of the place. I’ll set up a meeting for the two of you later today, and if it’s not too late I’ll swing by your room and let you know when it will be. But for now, let’s finish out the tour, then I’ll take you to your hotel,” Mor suggested, holding out an arm.
You grab it once more, allowing her to take you to the last Palace in the city- the Palace of Hoof and Leaf, dedicated to more meats, as well fish, fruits, and vegetables. There were stalls with vendors cooking street food, bowls of noodles and burritos that all smelled delicious- you would definitely be coming back here to try something from each and every fae.
While you were well acquainted with nearly every type of baked good and dessert, different styles of cooking were something you hadn’t been exposed to very often before being trapped Under the Mountain. And while there, you were lucky to get anything besides the imperfect bread you would make.
And after all those years, you had just wanted to taste something familiar, so you stuck with the Winter Court fare you had as a child for the past six years.
But now, smelling everything here and Sevenda’s restaurant? You wanted nothing more than to taste every type of food that you could. Perhaps you would even think of new pastries in the process.
Soon enough, the two of you were back at the townhouse you had arrived in front of with Viviane. Mor popped inside quickly, returning with your bags. She passed one to you as she said “Now that you’ve seen the main parts of Velaris, it’s time to get you to your hotel room so you can relax a bit, settle in some.”
You both crossed the Sidra again, right as snow began to fall. You looked around, taking in the sight of glistening snow, your favorite weather in the world, falling onto the beautiful city that you could now call your own.
“It’s beautiful,” you blurted out without thinking. “Does Velaris suit every season so well?”
Mor looked at you from the corner of her eye, also taking in the scenery. “Yes, it does. I have found every city I’ve visited in Prythian to be beautiful in its own right, but Velaris seems to capture the beauty of every season the best. Of course, I am terribly biased, being from the Night Court and all,” Mor laughed.
She stopped in front of a large building, several floors tall with two balconies on each facing the Sidra. Mor opened the ornately carved wooden door, the words The Sidra Inn engraved on it, revealing a warmly decorated lobby. Behind the reception desk was a slim, bark skinned fae.
“Hello, Mor, it’s good to see you,” the female- a beta- said, extending a hand, which Mor shook readily. Then her eyes turned to you. “And you must be Y/N, our newest resident.” You nod your head in confirmation. “My name is Druana, I’m the owner of this quaint little inn.”
“It’s nice to meet you, Druana.” You take her hand as well, fascinated by the texture of her bark skin. “From what I’ve seen so far, your inn feels like home. It’s very warm, inviting.”
The fae smiles at you. “Thank you, Y/N. If you’re ready, I’ll show you to your room.” You look to Mor, who hands you your second bag.
“I’ll see you in a couple of hours, Y/N. And if I don’t come by then, I’ll send a letter telling you what time I’ve arranged for you to meet with Auric. Do you want me to bring anything for you when I do come? Any food, clothing, nesting materials?”
Heat creeps up your neck at the last idea. “No, Mor, thank you though. I should be fine, for now. I’ll see you in a bit,” you said, parting ways with the friendly blonde.
Druana led you up a set of stairs and in front of a room on the second floor. She handed you a set of keys, then walked back the way you had come.
You turned the key in the lock, and opened the door to your new home for the foreseeable future. It was spacious, containing a large bed set against the left wall, a dresser, wardrobe, a circular table with two chairs on opposite sides, and your own personal bathroom and kitchenette. It was all decorated in cozy fall colors, reds and oranges and browns everywhere, and a fireplace against the right wall. Opposite the door was a set of double doors, likely leading out to one of the balconies you had seen from the street. You dropped your bags on the floor next to the bed, and went to look at the bathroom, it’s door next to the fireplace.
It was lovely, a deep tub that you knew would fill enough so that you could sink entirely beneath the water. There was also a large counter with two sinks, a large mirror hung above it on the wall. And of course, a toilet that looked suitable enough.
You returned to the bedroom, walking over to the set of doors and pushing them open.
On the street, you hadn’t been able to see the padded rocking chair and small table, but now that you had, you knew you would be reading in it, protected from most of the snow by the small roof covering the patio.
You went back inside, grabbing a romance novel that you had picked up a couple of months ago, but had never gotten around to reading. You also pulled a blanket from the bed.
Being from the Winter Court had given you a mild immunity to freezing weather, it was much more comfortable to sit covered in a blanket.
Before you went back on the balcony, your eyes snagged on the kitchenette- already laying out were a few boxes of tea. You placed the book and blanket on the bed and walked over to the counter.
You looked through the flavors before deciding on a basic green tea. In a few minutes you had brewed a large mug for yourself, and took it and your book and blanket onto the balcony.
You snuggled down into the chair, careful to position your wings so they weren’t squished or pinched anywhere. The blanket came next, and you wrapped it around your legs and dress as much as you could, then over your right arm.
With your left, you spread the book open, happily diving in to the story about childhood friends slowly growing to love each other romantically.
Friendship before love- that could be nice, you thought to yourself as you read, sipping your tea and looking out over the beautiful view of Velaris in front of you.
And now, most likely, you would be able to meet people who didn’t already know you as the tortured omega baker slaving away for Amarantha to keep her grandmother and Court as safe as possible.
Now, people would know you as the omega baker from the Winter Court, hopefully with a cozy bakery and the best pastries that they’ve ever had.
You lost yourself in the book, hoping the entire time that you would find a love to last you forever.

A/N- I hope you all like it :)
Warning- ANGST!! FLUFF!! Weapons, blood, and talks of death! Spoilers for the show!
Pairing- Hwang Jun-ho x fem!reader
Episode- 1x05 - 1x08
(Let me know if you want to be tagged)
——
Day 1:
You- Jun-ho, where are you?
No response to the text you sent and two phone calls were declined.
Day 2:
You- Are you okay? Let me know or tell me if you don’t want to talk…
Yet again, no response to the morning text. When you get to work you expect him to be there, but he doesn’t come. Not for lunch and not toward the end of the shift.
“Detective!” Someone tries to catch your attention and you have half the mind to pretend you don’t hear and leave for the day since you assume what’s coming, but it would be disrespectful and would only worsen the matter.
“Chief,” you redirect nonchalantly and turn on your heels to see him walk up to you and search around you before his gaze finds yours.
“Where’s Hwang?” He asks the dreaded question, making you stiffen and internally groan before you respond dryly.
“I don’t know, Sir.”
The man’s eyebrows immediately furrow before he quips. “What do you mean you don’t know? He’s your boyfriend, you’re supposed to know.”
You fist your hands and shrug stiffly before you retort in the same nonchalance. “Well, I don’t know. Sorry.”
The captain looks at you up and down with a hint of judgment and amusement and you can imagine—no you know he must think Jun-ho must be doing something malicious behind your back and you’re oblivious, but he doesn’t know Jun-ho like you do, he wouldn’t cheat on you…right?
He wouldn’t keep secrets, would he?
Then again do you even have the right to be upset even if he does have secrets considering the ones you keep from him?
The answer to that is an immediate no, but finding out he's seeing someone else behind your back is different, and…he…wouldn’t do that, would he?
You return home and text him again.
You- At least let me know if you’re not going to work.
Jun-ho is usually a quick texter, he never leaves you on received for too long when he’s out of work, and if he is busy doing something else he lets you know, but this time he hasn’t. He doesn’t call nor does he pick up when you try to call him once before bed, so rather than falling asleep and hoping to get an answer from him in the morning, you’re left on your bed staring at the ceiling and overthinking.
Every thought is worse than the other and with every bad thought you crack more and more until you can’t take it a moment longer and finally break. You do the one thing you said you wouldn’t do and…check his location. That’s when you find out that he’s not even close to the city or abroad just like you imagined, he’s on an Island…
Shit.
——
*THE NEXT DAY*
The Island was much harder to navigate to than you thought, but finally, after sailing for far longer than you’re comfortable with on nothing but the endless sea and its creepy deep, and dark waters, you make it to the Island. However, instead of driving right through the entrance and boldly announcing your presence, you sail to a more obscure part of the Island.
Did you count on having so many rocks surrounding the Island? No, but you do find an opening that seems to fit your boat.
Yet rather than sailing right through, you stop the motor right by the opening and intend to dive in the water to swim through the opening to avoid having someone hear your boat, but when you walk to the edge of the boat and look at the water, you remember how deep and vast it is.
There’s a possibility that you could just sink, and if you sink, you drown and die. The sea is so vast. It’s so terrifying. How are people not scared of it? You were so focused on getting to the Island that you were able to not think about your fear of the sea, but now you’re stopped in place, looking through the surface, seeing the dark depths of the open water, and feel like starting the motor and sailing all the way back to the mainland where you’ll be safe, but…Jun-ho is here and he doesn’t answer your texts or your calls. If he’s not dead yet, he might need your help, so you draw out a few deep breaths and take a moment to convince yourself to push your fear aside before you dive into the water.
When you’re in the water you start to breathe heavily and feel your heart race, but you shove that fear to the depths of your mind for now and start swimming so the worst doesn’t happen. However, the opening leads to a long corridor dimly lit by lamps on the walls, so the shadows turn to menacing threats that threaten to trap you and drag you down the depths of the sea.
That is until you finally find firm ground on a dock occupied by other small boats. “Finally,” you say between pants as you climb on a far corner of the dock, and then sit on your knees to drop your head in your hands and catch your breath so you can calm your racing heart and be wary of what you have to do in this place. You’d be no use to yourself or Jun-ho if you’re still shaken up by the dark waters.
After you manage to collect yourself, you only prioritize one goal. You don’t think about the fact that you’ll have to retrace your steps over the water and sail back to the mainland. You make Jun-ho your priority and become intensely determined.
However, if only finding Jun-ho could be as simple as walking through a door and finding him. You have your phone and you could still track his phone, but when you take your phone out of the plastic bag you kept it safe in, you fail to get service which results in you not being able to track Jun-ho anymore. And it’s not like you have wi-fi either so you’re left with no choice but to be careful and search this vast place as if with your eyes closed.
Thankfully, you don’t run into anyone when you exit the docks, you’re just greeted by yet another long hall lit by more lamps strung up on the stone walls. Spread down the hall there’s different turns that lead elsewhere, potential places that could lead to Jun-ho. Which one do you take?
Shit. Shit. Shit…
You look at all your options and debate for a while. When you make a strategic choice you take a step forward, but, at that moment, the sound of a gunshot echoes, and you know it would be a crazy risk checking if it’s who you’re looking for, but if you don’t risk it and check, then you could possibly lose the chance of finding him and you’d be left searching and searching for someone who might not be on the Island on anymore, besides, you’ll just take a quick peek. That won’t hurt…hopefully…then again even if it did hurt, it would be worth it for him. Thus, you quickly navigate through the labyrinth that is this cave until you reach a door you assume leads to where the gunshot came from.
After you make sure no one else is approaching, you then make sure not to be loud when you open the door, nor do you throw it open. You open the door just wide enough so you can peek out through a gap with one eye.
Alas, you’re met with a grey stone wall, so you push the door open just wide enough so you sneak through. When you make it to the end of the wall, you press yourself against the stone and peek out, that’s when you find him, the man you’re looking for in a pink jumpsuit, standing over a gap of illuminated water. No one else seems to be around him, so you slowly walk out.
Jun-ho doesn’t notice you right away so you call out to him. “Jun-ho.”
Said man spins around swiftly and the first thing he does is point the gun at you.
You don’t move in response or say anything. You stay where you are and let him see you. You let him figure out on his own that yes, it is you. You’re intertwined in the shadows of the cave. You’re not a trick his mind played on him, it’s you in the flesh looking at him like he’s salvation itself.
“Jun-ho,” you muse and he responds by muttering your name before he takes a few steps forward and stops.
You stay under the shadows of the room and study him carefully to make sure he’s unharmed, to reassure yourself that he’s there, before your very eyes, and breathing.
He's alive, and you’re relieved, but how long will he remain yours if you stay here?
Thus you bring an end to the moment and stride over to him to grab his wrist right away. “Come on, we have to go. I saw armed pink people guarding an entrance. We have to leave before we’re caught.”
He remains silent, but he doesn’t budge, he lets his wrist slip from your grasp, making you turn swiftly to look at him with panic. “Jun-ho, we have to leave.”
Said man blinks as he gathers his thoughts before he finally interjects with something other than your name. “What are you doing here? How did you find me?”
You walk back to him. “My phone,” you breathe out and hold his gaze, noticing how intensely he studies you with concern and confusion—“I tracked your phone here after you disappeared. I thought you were,” you pause and drop your head to let out a deep breath before you share the worries that plagued your mind when he was gone. “…With someone else so I checked your location.”
He scoffs and you look back at him.
“That’s when I saw you were here and—”
“And you came to catch me?” He continues for you with amusement breaking through his conflict and playing on his lips. “That’s…very much like you. I wouldn’t have gotten away with it even if I did try.”
You scoff now and he drops his head to let out a chuckle before he faces you with a serious face. “But I wouldn’t have done it. You know that.”
You avert your gaze out of shame and shrug. “Well I was being ignored so I thought the worst, but now aren’t you glad I’m here? Whatever this place is?” You quip and glance at the body floating in bloody water before meeting his dark eyes and returning to your panicked state.“Now we have to leave. I have a boat just outside. We have to swim to it, but we’ll make it.”
You grab his hand, but once again he refuses to move.
“No. I can’t. I have to find my brother and this place has the answers,” he explains, making you look at him with disbelief.
“Your brother?” You probe, making him nod.
“That’s not all, this place is manipulating people by dangling money in front of their faces only to kill them in different games.”
Your lips part and you gasp in horror at his revelation.
“I have to get evidence to stop it as well as find my brother…or…at least what may have happened to him because…I think he’s here or…he was. I’m not sure but I have to know.”
You shake your head. You know that he loves his brother and misses him dearly. He’s been searching for him and any answers as to what led him to disappear, but you can’t put your lives at risk for an answer. Not when you have a way out without getting killed.
“I’m sorry Jun-ho, but now that you told me what you know, we can’t put our lives at more risk!” You argue with panic. “We have to go.”
“And throw away the chance at finding my brother?” He snaps, making you blink repeatedly in disbelief before you counter with little patience.
“And didn’t you hear me? I saw armed guards. How long until they find us?! We have an opening and we have to take it.”
He steps back and shakes his head. “No, go if you want now that you know I’m okay, or stay and help me now that you’re here, but I’m not leaving. Not without answers.”
You challenge his gaze and nod stiffly in comprehension. “Is that how it’s going to be? After I risked my life coming after you?” You remark and he lifts his chin slightly in defense.
“I already told you what this all means to me. As grateful as I am that you came even if it was for your own jealous reasons, I won’t throw away my chances at finding answers.”
You let out a deep sigh and turn away to compose yourself before you lose all your patience.
“I know how hard this must have been with your fear of the sea,” he adds in a softer tone. “But you know what my brother means to me. And these people…it’s horrible. Everything about this place is horrible. I can’t leave without evidence to use to bring it down.”
You swallow thickly and then clench your jaw as you let out a deep breath through your nose.
“We might not have this chance to leave again,” you point out.
Jun-ho walks around you to face you with concern. “Don't stay if you don’t want to, go while you have the chance.”
You slowly meet his gaze with a look that softens the moment you meet his eyes. “And leave you all alone to get all the credit?” You murmur, making him scoff with a faint grin tugging on the corner of his lips.
“Plus I’m deep in it now. Whose going watch your back if not me?” You tease, making him finally laugh breathlessly before he looks into your eyes and drops his grin to step closer and cup your cheek with a smile filled with admiration.
“Thank you for coming after me even if you didn’t know what you were going to face,” he says softly.
You cup his hand and take your turn to look at him with awe that's also mixed with worry.
“Come, just above those ladders is a room that can give me the answers I’m looking for,” he shares and then steps away to point at the ladders at the far end of the room with his eyes.
Now you do hesitate while he leads the way, but you also can’t leave without him so you follow him to the ladders and climb them all the way to the top until you reach a hatch blocking your path.
“Do you have something to pick the lock?” He asks as he peers back at you.
“No,” you immediately let him down. “I’m sorry.”
He shakes his head. “It’s okay,” he says and then reaches into his pocket to pull out a revolver—“it’s going to be loud. Be ready.”
You hum and watch him shoot the hatch to pop open the lock.
“What is it?” You ask since you can’t see what Jun-ho can as he slowly opens the hatch door.
“The hatch opens to a cabinet. We’re inside the leader's room. I don’t think anyone’s here,” he shares, but even if there was someone the gunshot would have been a dead give away and you would have been caught, so luckily there isn’t anyone nearby.
“Let me check first and then you can climb up,” he lets you know over his shoulder before he climbs up one step to push open the cabinet doors and then climb into the room.
Once he's inside he does as he says and checks the room first, when he knows the ghost is clear, you hear his footsteps return before he pops over, letting you see him again. “Come on.” He waves you over, letting you climb up the rest of the ladder to get into the bland and depressing room yourself.
“Did you bring a gun?” Jun-ho asks and you look at him like he’s told you a joke before you remark.
“What do you think? No. I thought you were here hooking up with someone else, why would I bring a gun?”
He huffs. “I was just asking. Stick behind me then. Don’t wander off.”
You roll your eyes. “Wouldn’t dare to.”
He points his head to a door that looks exactly the same as the other doors in the depressing room, only, this door leads to a small room with a desk and a simple full-size bed. Thankfully, you don’t run into anyone, but the moment that you do walk in the room a siren begins to wail which could mean a variety of things, but you fear it might be about you and Jun-ho.
“We need to hurry,” you warn him, but he doesn’t stop being careless to hurry. He checks every corner with his gun, when he’s assured that the room is clear he opens a different door and immediately points his gun at the hall just like you were trained to. When a threat doesn’t pop out to become an inconvenience, he walks inside and you follow after him into the dark and menacing hall that leads to yet another dark room. Yet this one, unlike the others, isn't dimly lit, it’s covered in darkness and stays that way until Jun-ho’s small flashlight illuminates what he's looking at.
“What exactly are you looking for?” You ask just above a whisper just in case anyone is nearby to hear you.
“Just anything that can lead to my brother, In-ho,” he says over his shoulder and then watches every step you take as you make your way to his side now.
“Did you bring your phone?” He asks as he comes to a stop and turns to point the flashlight on you.
“Yeah,” you grumble and shield your eyes before you look down to pull your phone out and use your flashlight. “That’s the only thing I can use down here though. I have no service,” you complain and lift your eyes, making him lower the flashlight from your eyes.
“Me neither, but we don't have to worry about that until later. For now, let’s hurry and look for an answer.”
You nod in comprehension and intend to walk down the room to begin searching the shelves at the end of the room and let him cover the entrance, but he lingers where he is to look at you with emotions you can’t identify. “What?” You probe with concern.
He blinks out of his stupor and lets out a deep breath before he mutters, “be careful.”
You snicker. “I’ll yell if I need help.”
The corner of his lips twitch up before he holds your gaze for a second longer and then lets you both break away to cover different parts of the room.
“There’s so many records,” you point out as you run your flashlight over multiple different book spines that are mostly all pretty thick.
“Let’s find…this year's first,” he says in response. “And then switch from there.”
You keep running your light over the books as you walk across the shelf until you spot a binder that’s labeled with this year. “Jun-ho,” you call out and pull out the thick binder.
Your boyfriend doesn’t hesitate for a second before he strides to where you are and looks at what you found.
“It’s a binder for this year,” you share before you crouch to put the binder down. Jun-ho mirrors you, letting you open the binder and come across a profile of a player they call 001, but since that’s not his brother he finds no interest in it so you flip from page to page, making sure to look at every name printed by each picture in the corner.
“Who are these people?” You ask and steal a glance at him with a narrowed gaze that holds the hints of a darkness within—“They have the people’s medical records,” you add, noting his impatience and worry and feeling your heart ache at that.
“I don’t know.” He shakes his head.
You let the page go and look back, pointing your flashlight at the shelves behind you containing more stuff that could be useful. “I’ll check over here, you keep flipping through this.”
He doesn’t say anything, he just nods, letting you slip away to rummage through different shelves in hopes of finding something useful, but it’s all pointless. That is until a black box with a pink bow catches your eye.
It could be another pointless search, or it can hold an answer or a hint, so you pull the shelf out to grab the box and open it, finding a list of names next to different years.
Yet for the first few rows, all the names mean nothing until you reach the year 2015 and catch the name of Jun-ho’s brother, Hwang In-ho.
“Jun-ho!” You whisper shout and turn hastily to fall on your knees beside him and quickly hand him the list. When he sees what you point out his eyes widen and he then snaps his head up before he sloppily shoves himself to his feet and runs over to a shelf down the room.
You carefully follow him and catch him holding a binder of the year that his brother's name was listed next to. This time though he’s not so slow when he’s flipping through the pages, he takes a lot of pages to reach the number his brother was and there, as marked, is his brother's profile.
“In-ho,” he whispers and you study the page before you drift your eyes to watch Jun-ho instead.
“At least we know he won this…place,” you try to bring him some comfort. “We can leave now.”
Jun-ho looks through the gaps left between the shelf and the books and deadpans, “no,” before he leaves you there in that aisle and returns to where he left the list of names.
“What do you mean no?” You remark and peek out of the aisle, catching him pull out his phone. “You have your answers and we can probably still leave without getting caught.”
Jun-ho’s phone clicks and as you approach him from behind you see him take a picture of the list of players and then his brother's profile, but he doesn’t stop there, he darts around the room and grabs different folders and a couple of cassettes.
“What are you doing?” You query as you remain towering over him, basking his crouched figure in your shadow as he takes more pictures.
“We need more evidence,” he mutters as if it isn’t obvious. “I don’t have enough. After we get more we can leave.”
You scoff and turn your head away out of frustration, contemplating just forcing him out of here. It’d be a struggle but it would be worth it to get him out of here alive.
You also contemplate other choices, but ultimately you go along with what he wants because leaving him behind is not an option.
“Fine, but—” before you can finish talking suddenly a phone rings, cutting you off and making you freeze in place. Jun-ho on the other hand abandons what he was doing and slowly sneaks out of the room, leaving you no other choice but to follow him back to the main room and toward the land phone.
You know he wouldn’t be stupid enough to answer it, but it seems like he debates whether to do it or not as he just stares at the ringing phone. You almost have to ask if he would dare to do something so reckless, but then a ding breaks through the sound of the ringing phone, causing your heart to jolt before you snap your head from side to side to find a room to sneak into.
As it seems like you found your escape as if connected to your thoughts, Jun-ho rushes to you as quietly as possible to grab your hand and yank you with him to the same room you thought of escaping to. When you’re inside he does the unnecessary after he presses himself on the wall by the door; he proceeds to press you against his chest with his hand over your mouth. Then again, even with his gun in hand, you find comfort in the feeling of his heart racing against your back and his warm body pressed against you the most as the stressful moment unfolds.
“<Front Man speaking,” you hear a deep and obviously disguised voice answer the phone in English rather than Korean. “Yes. A minor disturbance has taken place. But it’s been addressed. No need to worry. We will make sure that no trace of it remains by the time the VIPs arrive>.”
Your heart skips a beat and you grip onto Jun-ho’s arm as you understand what the Front Man is saying.
“<Yes, sir,” the Front Man continues. “The game will begin on time, in line with the schedule>,” he finishes before you hear them hang up the phone and leave right away.
You expect him to come back, so you wait, but once you both know that there’s no one in the room anymore, Jun-ho lets you go and leads the way out, making sure that the ghost is really clear before he lets you follow him to the phone.
“Maybe we can finally reach the police with this phone,” you suggest, and a hopeful glint glimmers in his eyes.
“Yeah, good idea,” he praises you before he reaches over and grabs the phone to dial the number.
Yet…his effort is fruitless because he tries and gets no ring. He tries a different number but also gets nothing, ending with him sighing in defeat and returning the phone to its place.
“Damn,” you hiss and watch him with the same unaffected look that doesn’t carry any hint of true horror or deep concern. You are worried, but more so for his own safety, and the little fear you do hold is for the same reason. Anyone else would be horrified and constantly looking over their shoulder, but you don’t hold the weight of those emotions. You hold almost a knowing look as if this place is not actually strange. A darkness.
“We should, uh, go back to the record room to put the things back and then see where to go from there,” you share your idea as you raise your hand to cup his shoulder and give it a gentle squeeze before you return to the record room.
“You understood what the Front Man said right?” He asks once you're both in the record room since he knows you’re fluent in English too.
“Yeah, did you?”
He hums. “We have to stay until the VIPs arrive,” he shares the inevitable plan you already expected. “We have to know who they are.”
“Or at least try,” you argue to try and remind him to stay grounded and not get carried away with answers he might not get. “If this place is as horrible as you say, I doubt that they would show their faces. And without photos of their faces, we’d risk our lives for nothing.”
“They might not show their faces, that's right, but we have to try something to get answers. Even if it means being bolder in the attempt.”
You put the papers back in their respective folders and then as you get up to put the folders away, he gets up to return the binders to their shelf, leaving no room to add anything on the matter. Thus a silence befalls the dimly lit room that would make it feel alone if it hadn’t been for the soft shuffling noise he’s making.
“Jun-ho,” you call out as you don’t hear anyone coming, leaving you a perfect moment to speak up.
“Hm?”
You push the folders back in place and let your fingers linger on the back before you begin to walk away. “Why didn’t you tell me you were coming here?”
“Because I didn’t really plan on coming. I was looking into more clues on my brother's disappearance and found a connection with a player here at the same time so I followed him in hopes to find answers,” he explains nonchalantly, but that still doesn’t assure you of anything.
“Okay, so that explains why you were gone for an entire day before you disappeared, but…why not let me know?” You ask as you come to a stop at the end of the aisle. “I could have helped you, or even just kept you company. Or I could have just known where you were.”
Jun-ho’s footsteps start to depart from the aisle he is at and stop in the middle of the room, making you slowly walk away from the aisle but remain in the cover of darkness as you turn your flashlight off.
“I’m capable too, you know?” You remind him.
“I know,” he says back without a moment of hesitation, letting you know that he believes in what he said.
“I graduated in the same class as you at the academy. I have the same training, and I’m even a decorated detective,” you press with a slight quiver.
“I know,” he insists, but even if those words escape his mouth, you remain lost as to why he chose not to tell you a thing.
“Then?” You remark and at last step into his light where he finally sees your vulnerability in your eyes brimming with tears and your face contorted with frustration.
Vulnerability is something you don’t often show. When he met you you were cold; was it because you were in a male-populated career? Or was it the way you were raised? He didn’t know but it took you a while to even be his friend.
“I,” he says and pauses, luring you closer to him to meet eye to eye and not have the darkness be in the way—“I didn’t want to put your life at risk,” he reveals, making you blink in surprise.
“I didn’t know what I was getting into,” he adds, making your face soften and your breath hitch. “And I didn’t want to risk your life for something that could have turned out to be pointless. I don’t like to see you get hurt and if something had happened to you, or if something happens to you because of me, I…don’t think I could ever in my life forgive myself.”
Your face contorts with disbelief while in your stomach you feel a fluttering sensation as all the butterflies dance with utter awe at the sound of his confession.
“I…love you,” he reveals three words that hurt your chest, but also bring a deep bliss that makes it easy to get drunk off of.
“I’m happy you said it,” you redirect as you grab his arm. “Because I love you too, Jun-ho. I have not had many people in my life, but now I have you. And you’re someone I cherish and love beyond measure.”
His lips form into a smile as he proceeds to cup your cheek. Now you don’t have the luxury of time or of being careless, so you lean in for a short but passionate kiss that you linger in to savor the taste of his lips. A little taste of pure bliss and love in a sinister place.
“So,” you interject when you pull away. “What now?”
Jun-ho sighs. “With the Front Man gone, they’ll be busy with a game, so we wait until the VIP’s come. That’s all we can do. We can’t disguise ourselves as the Pink guards, they would have already seen the body in the water, so they’ll be even more suspicious now.”
You sigh deeply and step back. “Well…I can wait. I suppose. What other choice do we have?” You groan before you remember what else you have to put away and walk back to where you had gathered everything to grab the black box and hand it to Jun-ho.
“I’m sorry we couldn’t find more on your brother,” you share your pity. “But is it enough for now?”
Jun-ho looks at the box containing the fact that his brother was one of the previous winners and hesitates before he nods softly.
“Good,” you say for his own benefit and then give him a peck on the cheek while he walks over to put the box away.
“You should get some rest. It’s going to take a while,” he offers, but you turn and quickly protest.
“No. I’m not tired. You should rest. How long has it been since you’ve slept? I can keep watch.”
Jun-ho turns without pushing into the shelf and walks back to you. “I’ve slept enough. You came all this way. You must be tired. It’s okay, I don’t mind keeping watch.”
You put your hands on your hips and shake your head. “No, we take turns then. You sleep the first half and I’ll do the second. This is me putting my foot down.”
Jun-ho scoffs and drops his head as he admits defeat. “Fine, come on then let’s stay in the aisle with the lights off.”
You giggle and make your way to an aisle. “If I didn’t know better I’d say you are trying to seduce me.”
He lets out a chuckle and you can’t help but smile at the small yet heartwarming gesture. “You don’t know better.”
As you take a seat on the floor the last thing he sees is you beaming at him before he turns the light off and takes a seat next to you.
“I can sing you a lullaby,” you tease him as you lean toward him.
“Pft,” he snorts and then he can’t help but laugh. “I’m not your dog.”
You giggle. “Aww, he enjoys them though. He looks forward to it.”
“It’s weird,” he mumbles as he takes something out of his pocket and then presses the cold object on your lap, letting you identify what it is—“for just in case.”
You place your hand on the gun to feel its cold surface before you place it beside you. “Well, hopefully, you won’t sleep through any trouble. I won’t be able to carry you out.”
He huffs. “I’ll be right here if anything does happen.”
You smile softly and then press your lips on the top of his head and let your lips linger there as he lets his body relax and his head fall on your shoulder.
Silence follows to accompany you after that and his snores don’t fill it because you know he’s not in a deep sleep, and how can anyone be comfortable enough to find deep sleep in this place? So you’re sitting in the silence, keeping an ear open for any potential danger while also wondering if you still want to keep this deeply buried secret still buried. Especially after Jun-ho said he loved you.
You trust Jun-ho, and he’s already here, but can you really confess such a deep-kept secret and put his life at even more risk? For so long you have tried to distance yourself from the secret. You turned your back on it and pretended it didn’t exist until you found out that the man you love was here putting his life at risk, so it begs the question, should you tell him and…risk losing him?
If you tell him will he turn his back on you and make your nightmare a reality? He told you he loved you so he deserves to not be lied to about something so significant, but…can you really be so selfless?
You don’t know, and you can’t figure out the answer to the question when he wakes up, so you shelve it and close your eyes.
It is hard to find sleep, but eventually, it comes to you and you drift off. It’s not a long sleep, you’re rudely woken up by the sound of the phone ringing again, but the sleep was enough to recharge some of that energy you had lost, which, that in itself is important.
“Get behind me,” Jun-ho demands as he grabs your arm and helps you up without actually letting you try on your own. He then proceeds to pull you behind him so he can point his gun through the bookshelf's gaps.
The phone rings again and in the short silence the elevator dings before another ring echoes and footsteps click on the ground. The phone rings two more times before there’s finally an answer in English. “<Front Man speaking,” you understand the monotone voice say before he pauses for a brief second and then continues again. “I’m happy to hear you enjoy the game. Yes, the host is currently waiting for the VIP’s to arrive.>”
A silence proceeds to fall and a couple of seconds later the sound of clicking shoes recedes, almost relieving you of the stress tightening your chest. Albeit before either Jun-ho or you can feel relief, the monotone voice booms in Korean.
“Are you in here right now?” He directs in Korean to either you or Jun-ho. You assume it’s Jun-ho, but you aren’t certain. “You’re good, but you made one mistake. I always put the receiver down the other way.”
Jun-ho peers over his shoulder to look at you with a shameful look, causing you to pass him a look of reassurance before you press your hands on his back for comfort.
“The bullet you shot was a Smith and Wesson M60 revolver, standard issue for Korean police. What’s a cop doing here…without a partner?”
You curl your fingers, grabbing the pink material of Jun-ho’s pink suit.
“Or so you want us to believe? We saw a boat arrive with a woman in it…” He pauses
Your breath hitches as your heart skips a beat.
“Your partner? I’ll tell you what?” He adds. “We’ll play a game. I’ll let her wander around to try and find you. If I catch her you can watch her die.”
Jun-ho’s breath shudders and his gloves crinkle as he tightens his grip around his gun.
“If you find her, you can come out and ask me questions. I am sure you have many,” he adds and then pauses as he finally sounds above you, making you hold Jun-ho tighter.
“I don’t know how you got in, but you can't leave this place without my permission,” the Front Man continues and gets closer, opening the door that leads to the record room and marching down. When he opens the final door that welcomes him in the same room, he’s quick to turn on the light, causing you to place your hand over your mouth and clench your jaw as your nerves rise sky high.
You wish for him to leave with every step he takes, but he walks past you. He then turns around and only gets closer to spotting you, and even if Jun-ho raises his gun higher, what would stop the Front Man from finding you?
The Front Man is the overseer for a reason, a defenseless woman and one man with one gun won’t scare him.
Nevertheless, as if by divine intervention the radio beeps, stopping the Front Man in his tracks before he can turn your way.
“We found a body,” a man comes through the radio.
“Where is it?”
“The Northern coast of the Island,” the other man responds, making the Front Man put his radio away and whisk off, leaving you and your boyfriend to remain hidden. Yet it’s only after a few minutes pass that you let go of your boyfriend, letting him move from his spot to face you without turning on his flashlight as if fearing the Front Man would appear if he did.
“We need to find somewhere else to hide. We won’t get lucky here again,” he says between heavy breaths.
You nod stiffly and slowly lower your head, letting him know you’re bothered. “What?” He probes.
“We don’t have much time left,” you point out as if he doesn’t know that fact clearly—“Whatever you have planned you need to do it now,” you press and face him with a pointed gaze.
“I know,” he mutters and puts his gun away before he sighs and averts his gaze, letting you know he’s holding something back.
“What?”
He unclenches his jaw and slowly meets your gaze through the darkness. “I’m going alone, and I’m not listening to any protest. You heard him. If he finds you…” he pauses and lets out a shaky breath, making you grab his hands to try and assure him that there’s nothing to worry about.
“He won’t. Especially not when I’m with you.”
Jun-ho pulls his hands away from your hold and grows firm. “No, I won’t put your life at any more risk because of me.”
“Jun—”
“I said no,” he cuts you off roughly. “You’ll stay in the cabinet until I’m done.”
You raise your chin and challenge him just as fiercely, but he doesn’t budge, ending in his victory.
“Fine,” you grumble and push yourself to your given height to storm off. Before you can reach the door you turn on your heels and bump into his chest. “But if you don’t make it back two hours after you leave I’ll go find you.”
He clenches his jaw and huffs but compromises for your own sake. “Fine.”
You hum with contentment before you turn again and leave the record room to now hide with Jun-ho in the cabinet and wait again, finding yourself lulling to sleep in that wait.
However, this time you just close your eyes because a light burning sensation on part of your face wakes you up, and when you try to follow where the sensation starts from, you catch Jun-ho with his dark eyes set on you.
He sees that you catch him staring, but he doesn’t look away, making you smile giddly.
Before you can comment on the matter though, the elevator dings and a pair of footsteps walks out before the presence lingers until he sets off as another ding rings out and multiple footsteps now echo, making the monotone voice speak.
“<Greetings,” the Front Man speaks in English. “I hope your long trip here has not been too difficult. I am the Front Man, who operates and oversees all matters here. It’s a true honor to welcome you>.”
“<Where is the host?>” A guest speaks and you now imagine that the VIP’s are here.
“<Unfortunately, some urgent business has prevented him from attending.>” The Front Man gives an excuse that triggers more questions.
“<Seriously?>” Someone else asks. “<I find it hard to believe the host would miss a night like tonight.>”
“<He asked me to apologize on his behalf,” The Front Man offers the guests.
“<Did some problem happen here?>” A man with a deep gravelly voice and accent asks.
“<Not at all. It’s just a personal matter of the host.>”
You clench your jaw and your gaze hardens. A detail Jun-ho misses as he’s attentive to the Front Man going on.
“<The remaining games will be held as scheduled.” He breathes out and then goes on. “I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.>”
“<Well, I hope not,” a different man interjects in a different accent you can pinpoint. “Listen, I’m willing to give anybody some slack. That’s not a problem.” He chuckles. “I just have to say that I’m a difficult man to please. I hope you won’t disappoint me.>”
Oh, brother.
“<Shall we?>” The Front Man says, leaving the comment as is and bringing his guests toward the cabinet you’re hiding in, but ultimately passing you to go through a hidden door and leave elsewhere. Thankfully.
After a few minutes Jun-ho shifts to open the cabinet and climb out. You quickly follow after him to grab his hand and turn him around toward you so you can smash your lips on his. And since he didn’t expect the kiss he’s caught off guard, but he doesn’t slack, he grabs your jaw and pulls you closer, tempting to open the gates to your burning desire, but since you’re in such a dangerous environment the desire doesn’t burst open those gates, so even if you’re hesitant you’re able to pull back without trouble.
“Be careful,” you whisper against his lips.
He lifts his head to press a kiss on your forehead and let his lips linger on the sweat-covered surface. “I will. Promise. You be careful too.”
“Three hours.”
Jun-ho chuckles, making you feel chills as his breath washes over your flesh. “You’ve given me more time? I’m surprised.”
You smile softly. “I trust you, but I’m still looking out for you….until the end of the line partner.”
He smiles sweetly against your forehead. “Until then,” he whispers before he cups your jaw and presses another kiss on your forehead, and then leaves you waiting with your heart in your stomach in a place that makes you feel as if you’re stranded in the middle of the ocean with nothing but endless dark waters to taunt you.
——
*LATER*
It’s starting to feel stuffy in the cabinet and you can feel your hunger creeping in as you’re not plagued by a thousand other thoughts. Moreover, the time you gave Jun-ho is starting to come to an end, but you forbid yourself from overthinking. He’s smart. He’ll make it back. He will…
You lean your head back to rest it against the side as you wait and wait until you hear the sound of doors sliding open and footsteps that make a hasty and hard beat.
You don’t shift an inch so as to not alert the wrong person of your presence, even if it means you can’t see who it is.
You have to sit with your breath held until the person reaches the cabinet and crouches down to open the doors, revealing themselves to be your boyfriend Jun-ho.
“Jun-ho,” you breathe out with relief.
“I’m back,” he reassures you quickly before he waves you to him. “Now climb out so I can open the hatch.”
You hum and let him help you out so he can open the hatch, and then urge you to go back to climb down first, which you do without protest.
When your feet hit the concrete ground you turn and take a couple of steps away to give Jun-ho space to land, but right away you’re slammed with fear as you see the dark water and realize what awaits you in order to leave the cave.
“Jun-ho,” you let out a shaky whisper and when you hear his feet hit the ground, but not respond you peer back and notice his eyes fixated above for a lingering moment before he turns away and hastily rushes to you to grab you by the hand and pull you with him.
“He was right above us,” he shares quickly which you barely catch, but manage to anyway. “He knows we’re going to use the scuba gear to make our escape. We need to hurry.”
He then stops you where the benches are and swipes scuba equipment off the bench to start putting it on you without as much as thinking.
“Jun-ho,” you call out, but it goes to deaf ears because he continues to help you, causing you to glance at the water and see a malicious darkness taunt you. “Jun-ho,” you whisper again as you keep your eyes on the water, but again he doesn’t listen.
“Jun-ho!” You exclaim and he snaps out of his stupor to look at you with concern—“let me,” you don’t express your fear to let him focus on his own gear, which he does, but your fear only heightens and it's something Jun-ho doesn’t need to notice. After he snapped out of his stupor he remembered.
“We have flashlights to light our way, and I’ll be right in front of you.”
You swallow back nervously and nod hesitantly before you wrap your phone in a plastic bag and shove it into a secure pocket. The time comes to dive in the water, but all you see is death looming in the deep water.
“You’ll be okay,” Jun-ho assures you one more time before he puts his mouthpiece in and dives into the water. You grab your mouthpiece and stare at the water, watching the malicious water grow darker and deeper than it actually is. Yet you know time is critical and there’s no other choice so you insert your mouthpiece and dive into the cold water. After that, Jun-ho doesn’t hesitate to sink in and you have no other choice but to follow him. And as comforting as his presence is, your fear doesn’t cease to exist.
The malicious darkness slowly closes in on you the more you swim in the never-ending underwater tunnel, while the bottom, even though it is visible, is an abyss that threatens to drag you to a point of no return. There’s so many times when you want to stop and just ball up and close your eyes to not look at what you’re surrounded by, but you know that if you do so you’re doomed so you keep swimming, feeling the fear gripping at your throat until finally you see the break of light and resurface. You're not out of the water, nor are you close to land, but you can take a deep breath of fresh air and grasp the fact that you aren’t going to drown in the eerie depths.
“We need to get in touch with the police and the Coast Guard. Or at least I have to send what I got on my phone,” Jun-ho says with his mouthpiece out of his mouth and his eyes set on the island you just escaped. “I’m sorry we have to dive back in and swim back.”
You shake your head. “It's the only place we can probably get some service so…it’s okay,” you assure him. “Let’s get going before they find us.”
Jun-ho glances over at you and nods before you reinsert your mouthpiece and dive back into the water. The swim to shore is shorter this time and not as dark. You're not surrounded by an underground tunnel, but the fear is still as high, and your anxiety is skyrocketing as you sense that the Front Man and his pink goons are close due to their lack of presence so far and the fact that you’re out in the open heading right back where you left from.
At least when you finally make it to shore you’re able to let go of some of the emotional weight that fear burdens you with while also shedding the physical weight of the scuba gear. If only you were lucky enough to have service in your phones, but alas, neither Jun-ho nor you have any service, pushing you to climb the rocky hill set before you in hopes of getting enough service on high ground.
Once you’re close to reaching the top though, the sound of a gunshot brings you to an immediate halt, and when you look back to follow the noise another gunshot follows and you’re welcomed to the sight of pink guards trying to climb the rocky hill, and the Front Man.
“Shit,” you mumble between pants and then get pulled down by Jun-ho as he hides you in the shrubbery to pull out his phone and call your Chief now that he has a bar of service. And as the line rings you keep your eyes on the bright pink guards coming your way.
When the Chief finally answers the phone you continue to be on the lookout.
“It’s me, Chief,” Jun-ho says between pants.
As expected the Chief descends into madness, but Jun-ho pushes to be heard. “Can you hear me all right, sir? Just hold on, I’ll explain it later.”
The pink guards disappear past your eyesight, meaning that even if they’re not above you, they’re finding their way.
“Look,” Jun-ho keeps ignoring the question. “We’re somewhere southwest of the mainland.”
“What?” You hear the chief's query before he asks if you’re with Jun-ho since you’ve been missing too, but Jun-ho keeps pressing on.
“Can you try to locate my signal? Put a whole team together for this.”
The Chief once again questions Jun-ho while you see the Front Man following the Pink Guards trail.
“You gotta get a whole squad. The police, coast guard, everyone!” Jun-ho insists, giving a second for the Chief to respond before he continues. “Let me send over a couple of things, okay, and take a look.”
The Front Man also proceeds to disappear into the wilderness, making your heart begin to pound.
“I’ll call you again soon,” Jun-ho says and ends the call but proceeds to try and send the Chief evidence he managed to obtain.
“Are you done? I can’t see them, we have to go,” you hurry Jun-ho up and he follows up with a hum so you grab his hand and pull him with you so you can now put space between you and the people after you.
Once you make it to the top of the hill, Jun-ho lets your hand go and brings you to a stop. “Wait, wait, wait!”
You stop against a tree and look back, seeing him checking his phone and pressing on his screen with obvious panic, but you can’t do anything about it so you look out and that’s when you catch the Pink Guards not far from where you are.
“Jun-ho,” you call out and grab his shoulder to gain his attention so he can see what you do, and it’s at that moment that the Pink Guards come to a brief stop and manage to spot you and Jun-ho.
“They’re over there!” A guard points out to you, making Jun-ho and you break into a sprint to leave where you are.
After a while of running and when you’re within a forest, the guards get closer. You can see them and hear their commotion, but Jun-ho and you are fueled with a dire need to escape with your lives so you manage to pick up your speed, but soon thereafter, you’re forced to a stop as you come across a cliff that leads to the water. There’s no more path, just water below the cliff.
“We…we have to,” you stammer. “We have to jump!”
You look over at Jun-ho and just as you meet his dark eyes, he pushes you into some thick shrubbery just beside you that keeps you hidden. He then kicks something in the water that makes a big splash as the Pink Guards catch up and announce their presence with a gunshot to the air before you can jump out and push you and Jun-ho into the water.
“Police,” Jun-ho exclaims his identity. “Put down your weapons, you got that?!”
You move to be able to peek through the branches and leaves as the pink guards shuffle to find their position in front of Jun-ho.
“We already know everything about you all,” Jun-ho shares as you see him show off his phone. “The Coast Guard will be here soon.”
“I don’t know,” a different but familiar voice interjects in the distance. “Have the Korean police ever been quick to act?” He asks and you drift your attention to the voice and see the Front Man approaching Jun-ho menacingly. “And besides, you barely get any signal around here. I don’t know what you tried to send, but I doubt it went through.”
It’s a form of intimidation, but Jun-ho doesn’t falter. “Come and turn yourself in. You’ll get a plea bargain with that.”
“If you drop your gun right now and hand over the phone, I might let you and the woman live,” The Front Man mocks Jun-ho as he keeps moving toward him, making Jun-ho react.
“Stop right there!”
“The gun of yours holds five bullets,” The Front Man reveals that he knows Jun-ho’s predicament. “But for the police regulations, one chamber must remain empty and one must be filled with a blank. That leaves three live rounds. You already used one to kill a man, and another one to break the lock. Which means that there’s only one left in your gun.”
You clench your jaw with fear and use every muscle in your body not to expose yourself and just tackle Jun-ho
in the water because you know that if you do you'd be killed before you hit the water.
“One bullet is more than enough to kill you,” Jun-ho spats and cocks his gun, but the Front Man keeps moving forward.
“Give up,” he urges Jun-ho.
“I warned you,” Jun-ho snaps. “Take another step and—”
Before he can finish his warning he does as he said and shoots the Front Man in the shoulder, making you hold your breath as you expect the worst.
Alas, you catch the Front Man signal his men not to retaliate, so you’re able to breathe while keeping your attention on every single movement made by both men.
“This is over,” the Front Man groans. “Now come with me.”
Jun-ho steps back closer to the ledge, and the Front Man gets closer while he proceeds to urge Jun-ho to give up—“Do as I say. Or you die.”
“Who the hell…” Jun-ho trails off as he lowers his gun. “Are you?” He finishes asking, and miraculously in response the Front Man reaches for his mask to take it off and reveal his face, giving meaning to why he’s been merciful to Jun-ho and not killed him yet. The Front Man is…In-ho, Jun-ho’s older brother…
No…
“In-ho,” Jun-ho whispers in disbelief as he watches with wide-eyed shock.
“Let's go,” the Front Man tells Jun-ho one more time—“make it easy. For you and your partner,” he says with a softness in his voice whilst he extends his hand to offer it to Jun-ho.
Alas, without surprise Jun-ho declines with a shake of his head, making the Front Man lower his hand to instead grab his gun now. You see that without a fault and intend to come out of hiding, but Jun-ho knows you well. He looks your way and as if pretending to speak to his brother he mutters “no,” to you before glancing back at his brother. “Brother…In-ho, why?”
The Front Man hits the trigger and the bullet pierces Jun-ho’s shoulder, making him stumble back, while your eyes go wide and you immediately cover your mouth to not cry out in response. You do want to run out but either way, before you can even attempt to snap out of your shock, Jun-ho loses balance and falls back.
You want to cry out for him, but with your hands over your mouth, all you can do is contort your face with distress as tears crawl down your cheeks.
Meanwhile, the Front Man approaches the ledge and watches his brother hit the water. After a few lingering seconds he puts his mask over his face, masking any and every emotion he could have, and then turns around. Before he can walk back to his goons, his masked face tilts your way, and his masked eyes find you.
He looks right at you, there’s no mistaking it. You meet eye to eye and he then walks away without exposing you. It’s only once they’ve put some distance between you that you come out of hiding and without so much as hesitating, you jump off the cliff, feeling gravity drag you down with all its force before you hit the water.
Now you would give yourself time to collect yourself after making a big jump, but when you resurface you don’t care about anything, but Jun-ho.
“Jun-ho?!” You cry out and look around desperately. When you find his unconscious body resurfacing you swim toward him, feeling a twinge of agony hit your heart as you fear the worst, but you also know you can’t be certain and that you don’t want this living nightmare to become a reality, so when you reach him you quickly wrap your arms around his body and press your ear against his chest.
Now it takes a while to hear a thing, your own heart is thumping in your ears, but you’re insistent and refuse to accept that he may be dead so you hold your breath and search.
After a second of waiting you finally catch the sound of his beating heart and break down into a sob as you hug his body against you with relief, stealing a moment from time to press a kiss on his forehead before you find a sliver of solace in his beating heart as you press your forehead against his, right there, in the eerie sea.

Incoming call from Lover Boy <3
Pairing: Jeon Wonwoo x reader
Genre: fluff
Word count: 1.5k
Summary: A late night call from your lover Wonwoo after successfully wrapping up his second Tokyo concert.
Note: To celebrate Nana Tour coming to an end I decided to FINALLY write the fic idea I’ve had since episode 1. Please forgive my rusting writing skills - it’s the first fic I’ve actually written in years!
“Incoming call from Lover Boy <3”
The familiar nickname flashed up on your screen, causing you to pause in your reading, smiling slightly at the phone. It was just a joke at first - changing your boyfriend’s nickname in your phone to see how he would react, but the sheepish pink blush that painted his cheeks whenever he caught a glimpse of it drove you to keep it that way ever since.
Your phone continued to buzz angrily, snapping you out of your thoughts.
“What’s up?” you questioned, picking up the phone right away. It wasn’t unusual for Wonwoo to call you when he was away, but you knew he’d just wrapped up a concert that night and usually he’d prefer to either celebrate with the boys or just sleep, especially this late.
“Sorry baby, were you asleep?” a familiar face came into view, picking up on the slightly sleepy tone of your voice and voicing out his concerns.
“No, I was just finishing up this chapter, don’t worry. Is everything ok? What happened to drinking with the guys?” you asked, turning your camera on in turn.
“I had a drink already, but I thought I’d turn in early or else I’d be up all night with those idiots. We do fly out at 6 am after all.” The rosy flush that dusted over his features revealed the truth in his statement, as he shook his head fondly at the questionable sleeping habits of his members. “Besides I couldn’t miss out on speaking with you, it’s the highlight of my day.”
This made you smile a little to yourself. Although you’ve never doubted your boyfriend’s love for you, it still felt good to hear that your presence lights up his day in the same way his does to yours.
As you continued chatting about anything and everything - mostly the boys’ antics during the concert - Wonwoo began to remove the remnants of his stage makeup and get ready for bed. You did the same, basking in the moment of shared domesticity despite the ocean between you both. Despite all of the moments you’ve shared together, perhaps watching him sleepily rub his eyes with makeup remover is the most romantic of them all.
Before long, Wonwoo was done cleaning his face and headed back into the hotel bedroom as the two of you chatted. The lights went out with a click and you heard faint shuffling noises as Wonwoo struggled with his clothes. Eventually, he turned on the bedside lamp to reveal himself lying down, shirtless with his glasses on and his head on the pillow.
“You should take your glasses off hun, that’s got to be uncomfortable”, you chastised him, “and that can’t be good for the frames either”.
“No, I want to see you properly”, came the petulant response, “I won’t be able to actually hold you until tomorrow so this is the best I can get”.
“I can’t wait until you’re home.” you sighed. Although it had only been a few days, the pandemic and the fact that you were able to go with them on the last tour meant that times where you’d been away from Wonwoo were few and far between. Although the two of you had been very lucky in that regard, it did make time apart more of a struggle.
“Me neither, it’s not the same sleeping in these hotel rooms without you…”, he sighed. “I’ll be home tomorrow though! Do you have any plans? I know you’re working but maybe we could have a night in? We can watch a movie and order food? Oh! We should try out that new pizza place near ours, you know, the one Mingyu was talking about?”
“Oh yes! He made it sound so good - I’ve been wanting to check it out for a while! We should get extra and then we can have some leftovers for breakfast the next day!”
“…Babe… What are you talking about…. Pizza isn’t breakfast, you monster.” he deadpanned. At this, your cheeks puffed out a little in frustration.
“Breakfast can be whatever you want it to be! You can’t convince me that you had a healthy breakfast every day when you were living with Mingyu!”
As you continued to bicker back and forth about the validity of various breakfast(?) foods, you took a second to admire your breathtaking boyfriend. Even with his face smooshed into the pillow and his glasses askew, his handsome features and plush lips pulled into a subtle smile never failed to make you swoon.
Eventually the conversation turned to your days, catching up on everything that had happened since you last spoke. Although yours was quite uneventful - “just my manager being an idiot, as always” - Wonwoo was full of stories of shopping with the boys earlier that day.
“And then Hoshi just ran away with Coups’ crutches! He was just sat there on the floor pouting!”
As you giggled at his latest story, Wonwoo couldn’t help but join in as well. Your laughter never failed to give him the deepest joy - he would share stories until his throat ran dry, just to see you smile. He’d even endure the endless teasing from his members to buy magazines with his own face on to bring back to you. He didn’t understand why you needed them when you had the real thing - “They’re good to make collages out of, ok? Don’t judge me!” - but he’d dutifully bring them home to you to catch a glimpse of that bashful blush and shy smile of yours.
As your giggles died down, a wave of exhaustion washed over you and you couldn’t hold back your yawn. Despite doing your best to stifle it off camera, your ever attentive boyfriend still caught on.
“Are you tired baby? Sorry for keeping you up, we can always catch up tomorrow instead”, he said apologetically.
“No, no, if anyone should be tired it’s you. You’re the one that just finished a whole concert! Besides, I like hearing you talk. Tell me more about your day”.
At your gentle prompting, Wonwoo launched into another story about Dino’s latest antics. Despite his animated retelling of the members bullying their maknae, you felt calmed by his voice and felt yourself slowly being lulled to sleep. As your eyes drooped further, a gentle “sleep well baby” was the last thing you heard before your eyes shut completely.
The next morning you wake up to a text received at 4 am:
‘Sorry honey, we’ll have to take a rain check on our plans today. I’ve been kidnapped’
‘We’re going to Italy. I’ll bring you back some limoncello to make it up to you x’
You wracked your sleep-addled brain trying to make sense of his message before you remembered - Youth Over Flowers! You felt a slight twinge in your chest at having to cancel your date night, but that was quickly overtaken by excitement for your boyfriend, whom you know has never been to Italy before. You had considered visiting together in the past, but you’d never been able to make it work with your boyfriend’s packed schedule. Your boyfriend had rarely been able to go abroad for leisure at all in the past, let alone with almost all his members. The fact that Na PD somehow managed to surprise the boys, despite them losing all hope of the trip actually happening, just made it that much more sweet.
As you set to work looking up restaurant recommendations in Italy to make sure that your boyfriend was able to enjoy his trip to the fullest, a knock sounded on your door. Jumping out of bed and pulling on a dressing gown, you quickly made your way to the door.
“Pizza for Y/N?” It was the pizza place you’ve been wanting to try.
“I don’t think I ordered this? Do you have the wrong place?” you responded, bewildered.
“It was ordered to this address under the name of Jeon Wonwoo. There was a note left on the receipt.” At that your heart swelled, and you accepted the box gratefully from the delivery driver.
As you settled down at the kitchen table with the still hot box, you unfolded the receipt and took in the message your lover left for you.
“Sorry I can’t be there today baby. Please take this as my peace offering while I’m off expanding my pizza horizons in Italy. I hope you have a good day at work, can’t wait to see you soon! 10 days can’t go by fast enough. Please wait for me a little longer love <3”
You smiled softly at the thought of him, bleary eyed, having to pack all of his belongings in a rush, but still taking the time to think of you.
You took a bite of the piping hot pizza covered in your favourite toppings - delicious. Who ever said pizza wasn’t a breakfast food anyway?

Premise: A continuation of the free use jail cell series.
Word Count: this installment 4.3k approx.
Chapter Summary: You are free from the ot8 free use jail, Minho helps you out and then asks you over for dinner.
CW below the cut.
This is also in response to this ask here.
Tumblr media
CW: masturbation with sex toys, video sex, spanking, vaginal penetration with an object, oral sex (m rec), vaginal sex (unprotected), restraints, stretch kink (because I'm obsessed).
After he’s finished kissing you and watching you drive away, Minho heads back into the police station. He feels giddy, like a school boy who’s just had his first kiss. It's a feeling he hasn’t felt in a long time and he is both excited and fearful of it. Usually, when things start off this good, they inevitably end in disaster. But you know what he’s like when it comes to sex, and you weren’t scared off. That’s one fundamental difference from his past partners.
“Why the fuck are you smirking like that?” Says Jeongin looking up from his seat in the Chief’s office.
Everyone is sitting around the coffee table as Chan had gathered everyone for a meeting before going home.
“Not sure what you’re talking about?” Minho grunts, taking a seat next to Jisung, and trying to act like he didn’t just have the most delicious kiss of his life.
 Chan looks at him suspiciously.
“Yeah, you’ve been a little weird ever since you and Seungmin ‘interrogated’ her.” Hyunjin adds.
“Yeah, man. And what was that back in the gang bang?” Changbin joins in.
“The fuck you talking about?” Growls Minho.
“Gees, someone’s sensitive.” Hyunjin mumbles.
“I’m talking about how soft you were with her. You barely said a fucking word, then you fucked her so… so gently. That wasn’t in her request list.” Changbin replies.
Everyone turns to MInho and he feels the cogs in their heads turning.
“Well, Minho is good at picking up what people need, especially without them saying anything.” Offers Felix.
“That’s right.” Reiterates Chan sternly, staring directly at Minho.
Minho shifts awkwardly in his seat, feeling caught out.
“Fine. I just think he was a little too soft, that's all.” Changbin grumbles, settling back into his seat.
“Okay, boys.” Chan claps, signaling it’s time to move on. “I know we’ve only just finished our contract with Y/n, but I wanted to take the opportunity to discuss our next client and their requests.”
But Minho is barely listening. His mind keeps going back to you. Back to the way your lips felt against his own. The way your tongue sought his. The way you hooked a leg over his arm, seeking friction against your sweet little pussy. Fuck. Focus.
“So we have several women requesting two of us at once, and a couple are just after one. I thought we could divvy up the contracts and conduct them over the same few days.”
Everyone nods in agreement. It makes sense, that way if another client seeks five or six of them then they will have availability.
“Okay. The first is a request for two doctors. I think Seungmin and Jeongin would be good for that, yes?” He looks up at the pair and they both nod. Neither of them are new to that role. “Then a request for a fae themed scenario. I’m thinking we could use that cabin in the woods, the one we used for the kidnapping one, yeah? Felix, I think you’d be perfect.”
”No worries. I’ll get the place ready, and I’m pretty sure I saw the perfect costume online.” He makes a note on his phone to follow up.
“Good, make sure it can be sent express post. Um, a vampire request. Hyunjin?” he looks up at him and Hyunjin nods in acceptance.
“Then there’s this one I quote ‘threesome where one guy is in me and another guy in him.’”
“Ooo ooo me!” Jisung raises his hand enthusiastically, almost jumping out of his seat.
“Alright, Jisung. Who else is happy to assist?”
Jisung turns to Minho. “Please, hyung!!! Be my partner!” He bats his eyelids at him.
“Fine.” Minho rolls his eyes. Actually he is secretly glad he does’t have to directly fuck another woman so soon after you.
“Yes!” Jisung fist pumps the air.
“Lastly, a personal trainer fantasy. Bin, you and I can take that one. Okay, everyone will receive emails with the full details, so make sure you read them thoroughly, and converse with your partner if you have one. Good job, boys. Enjoy your time off, and see you soon.”
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
I wonder if she likes cats? Minho is still thinking about you when he lets himself into his apartment and is greeted by his fur baby. “Hey, Soonie,” he says, squatting down and patting his cat. “You miss me, huh? It’s okay, Daddy’s home now.”
He potters around his apartment, putting on a load of clothes washing, vacuuming, and then cooking himself a meal. All while trying not to look at his phone where he now has your phone number he stole from your file.
At some point while he’s cooking, he finds his phone in his hand and is staring at the number.
Is it too soon to call you? Of course it is. What kind of desperate fool are you?
He sighs and locks his phone, setting it back on the countertop and resumes stirring his pot of sauce. Maybe he could ask you over for a meal? His eyes drift back to his phone. Stop. No. Fuck. You are driving him crazy. He shuts his phone away in a kitchen drawer and goes to eat his dinner.
After successfully ignoring the strong pull coming from the kitchen drawer, Minho takes a shower, rubs one out to the thought of you on the interrogation table, then settles down on his couch to open his laptop.
He sighs and rubs his eyes, willing himself to focus, while Soonie decides it's the perfect time for pats. “What a cute little pussy, hmm.” Minho coos as it tries to climb onto his laptop as he reads the notes for his upcoming threesome. But it’s not long until his eyes drift towards his kitchen, to where his phone is still sitting in the drawer.
“Fuck it”. He says, sliding out from under his cat. He can’t think of anything else but messaging or calling you. He can’t focus on this next assignment. Fuck, he could barely think about his dinner without his mind drifting off to wondering how your sweet cunt would taste.
He doesn’t care if he looks desperate. Fuck, he is desperate. He opens the drawer and pulls out his phone, and after taking a deep, grounding breath, he dials your number.

‘Resisted arrest. Force required to detain the suspect. However, once handcuffed she was extremely enthusiastic to obey. Her mouth was very skilled and cunt was cooperative.’ - Changbin
‘I will be keeping an eye on her to ensure she is arrested and questioned for any criminal activity she becomes involved in.’ - Minho
‘The suspect was easily coerced into double penetration, climaxing multiple times. She was displeased when we removed our penises from her to restrain her to the ceiling chains, but settled once we were back inside her.
The suspect is the most responsive we have encountered so far, and is definitely a favorite.’ - Hyunjin
‘How we ended up with the prettiest suspect in the world I will never know! Her pussy is the most perfect I have ever felt. So tight, warm and soaking wet.’ Han
‘CONCERNS: Detective Lee Minho.’ - Chan
“Fucking hell.” You whistle low, closing the police report. “Chief Chan is concerned with Minho?” you mumble to yourself. Was he not acting his usual self with you? Did the Chi-, Chan, know about the kiss?
You have done absolutely nothing since arriving home from the police station several hours ago. Except for looking through your file and reliving all those beautiful cocks that filled you up perfectly. You’re still buzzing from the entire experience, and you’re not quite ready to come back to reality.
You flick to the photos Felix took of you. He was right, they are beautiful. Erotic even. You bite your lip as your eyes run over your bruises, bites marks, and injuries. You feel a pulsing sensation in your core. You need to touch yourself. Already? You say to your pussy, looking down in disbelief.
You gather all the items you need - a vibrating anal plug, lube, and your thickest dildo, and climb into bed. You moan when you press a lubed finger to your ass. As usual, it doesn’t take long until you’ve slipped a finger inside, preparing yourself to take the plug. Once you deem yourself ready, you push the plug inside and turn on the vibrator. Your breath quickens as the stretch, fullness and vibrations combined begin to send you feral.
You play with your clit. Rough, fast motions, all while your mind visualizes the photographs Felix took. You’re going to come hard and fast, but you want to prolong it. You slow your fingers right down to rubbing lazy circles on your clit, allowing your body to calm down.
You reach for the dildo and drench it in lube. Not that you need it, your pussy is absolutely dripping in arousal. You open your legs wider and push the dildo deep into your vagina. You cry out at the intrusion, your walls barely having time to adjust before you’re pulling it out and ramming it back inside you. Again, harder. You whimper from the pleasure-pain. You reach behind you and increase the speed of the anal vibrator, then you start to tug on it, stretching your anus slightly.
“Fuck!” You moan, feeling yourself about to climax. “Close. So fucking close.” You babble to yourself. You’re almost there. The point of no return. Your body tenses, your legs shake.
Your phone rings.
Your eyes shoot open and you grab your phone. Minho! A video call? Fuck. You scramble to sit up, fix your hair, and forgetting you are naked, you answer the phone.
Minho’s eyes almost pop out of his head, but he recovers quickly. “Nice tits, kitten.” He smirks.
Your arm quickly comes to cover yourself.
“Hey, it’s not like I haven’t seen absolutely everything.” He teases. “Anyway, I hope I didn’t catch you at a bad time - actually, what are you doing? You’re all flushed.” His eyes narrow.
“Nothing!” You squeak.
“I don’t believe you.” he quips.
“Okay, fine I was masturbating.” You roll your eyes.
“Really? Already? Aren’t you sore?”
“Nope. I'm fine.”
“Show me.”
“What?” You say shocked.
“I said show me.” He repeats seriously.
Nervously, You position the camera so he can see how wet you are.
“Fuck! You’ve got a plug in. Have you come yet?” He says in disbelief.
“Nope. Was almost there when you called. It’s like you knew.” You pouted.
“Oh kitten. Fuck. Such a good girl waiting for me before coming. Or is it you can’t come without me, hmm?”
“S’hard to come without someone watching.” You sulk, playing along.
“Fuck! Lucky I called. Go on. Play with yourself.”
You start to rub your clit again. Every so often you dip your fingers inside you to gather some wetness then bring it up to your clit.
“Have you got something you can fuck yourself with?” Minho says in a deep voice.
You reach for your thick dildo and resume fucking yourself like you were doing earlier.
“Deeper. Wanna see you take it deeper.” Minho instructs.
You want to obey, be a good girl for him, so you push the dildo in further so it hits your cervix on every thrust. “Need to come, Minho. Need to come.” You cry, thrusting into yourself frantically. “S’close..”
“I can hear how wet you are, kitten. That’s it, rub your clit. Good girl. I want you to imagine that’s me inside you.”
“Oh, God. Oh, fuck!” You whimper. “Let me come.”
“Scream for me, y/n.”
You explode into a million pieces, screaming, just as Minho demanded. Your body shakes for what feels like an eternity as waves upon waves of pleasure wash over you.
Eventually, you collapse on your mattress in exhaustion, your chest rising and falling rapidly as you try and catch your breath.
“Fuck. You alright?” Minho laughs softly.
“No.” You choke. “So intense.”
“Well, glad I got to see that. Luckily I called when I did.”
“Why did you call?” You pick up your phone so you can look at him.
He runs his hands through his hair. “Oh yeah. So, um, the reason I actually called was to see if you maybe wanted to come over for dinner one night?”
You’re taken by surprise. Minho wants to have dinner with you?
“I mean, it’s okay if you don’t. It’s probably not wh-”
“I’d love to.” You smile.
“Yeah?” He says in disbelief.
“Yeah.”
>>>>>>
“This looks delicious, Minho. You have lots of skills it seems.” You say grinning at the plate of pasta and bolognese in front of you. Your eyes almost roll back into your head when you take a bite. “Oh my god. This is fucking amazing!” you say with a mouthful of food. “Did you make the pasta from scratch?”
Minho smiles triumphantly. “Yes. The sauce too. Glad you like it.”
“It’s delicious.”  You grin and try your best to not scoff the entire plate down in one mouthful.
“You look beautiful tonight.” He says gazing at you. You feel a heat flush over you. You aren’t particularly dressed up, opting for a nice top and denim shorts. You hoped it would be suitable enough for the occasion.
“Thank you. I think it’s the first time you’ve seen me in clothing?” You laugh. “You look good too.” You notice his cheeks flush a little.
“So,” You put your fork down. “How is it you came to be in your…um…profession?” You ask curiously.
Minho sits back in his chair, and pauses in thought. “Well, Chan started the business with Jisung - Han - and Changbin. Business grew quicker than they expected and so they needed to hire more staff.”
“Interesting. But what made you join?” You lean your elbows on the table, resting your chin in your hands. You’re curious to know more.
“Hmm. I suppose I thought it would make life easier, sexually speaking. It’s hard to find a partner that wants both a sex life like mine and also a sickly sweet romantic dynamic. It was too confusing for my previous partners. The ones I could see myself having a future with were put off by my tendencies. So I joined the group and got my satisfaction there. And it’s thrilling to please client’s who share similar desires. It really is.”
“But what about the sickly sweet romance? You don’t get that in the job.”
Minho shrugs. “I guess not. But at least I don’t keep being rejected by women this way.”
You can’t believe how anyone could reject Minho. He is kind and thoughtful. Very domesticated. You look around at his tidy home and then at the meal on your plate. But you get what he means. You know it too well.
“So have you got your next contract?” You ask, wiggling your eyebrows.
He cracks a huge grin. “Yeah. I do.”
“Well? What is it? What do you have to do?” Your eyes widen with enthusiasm.
“Hey, hey, Kitten.” He holds his hands up in a bid to calm you down. “That’s confidential.”
“Oh come on, it’s not like I know them. Please.” You bat your eyelids.
“Okay, fine. It’s a threesome.” he concedes.
“A threesome? Yes, go ahead. Tell me more..” You gesture for him to continue.
“The exact wording of the brief is ‘I want someone in me, and someone inside him.’ Okay maybe that wasn’t the exact wording, but you get the gist.”
Your mouth hangs open in excitement. “So you’re telling me—”
“Jisung’s going to be in the client’s vagina, and I am going to be in Jisung’s ass.” He states.
“Woah! So you guys fuck each other too?” You shriek.
“Sometimes.”
“Wait! I could’ve asked for you to fuck each other? Oh man, no one told me that.” You sit back and scowl.
“Well, you’ll have to book us again.” He teases.
“I just might. So who have you fucked in the group?” You ask excitedly, taking another mouthful of pasta.
“Jisung, a few times. Chan too.” He says matter of fact.
“Chan?! No way! Has anyone fucked you?” You say with your mouth full.
“Chan. Seungmin.”
“Seungmin?” You almost choke.
“It was an experience. Although you know perfectly well how he likes to fuck an ass.”
You nod laughing, then falling quiet as the image of Seungmin inside Minho flashes through your mind. Jisung too. He’d look so pretty being ruined by Minho.
“Are you okay?” He asks, trying to meet your gaze.
“Yeah. Just trying to work out my next fantasy request for you guys. I quite like the idea of someone in me, someone in them, another in my mouth, then everyone else inside each other.”
“Do you now? I might have to keep a mental note of that.” Minho’s eyes sparkle deviously.
>>>>
“That really was a delicious meal, Minho. Thank you for cooking.” You say placing your empty plate by the sink. “Would you like me to lend a hand washing up?” You start looking for dishwashing detergent and sponges.
Minho’s arms wrap around you from behind and he nuzzles his mouth into your neck. You smile at the warm gesture.
“I’d like you to lend a hand with something else.” He whispers against your ear. “But first.” He spins you around and presses your back against the bench. “I’ve been dying to kiss these lips all night.” he smashes down on you in a heated kiss, setting your insides on fire.
He pulls back to peel your top off over your head and throws it to the side. Then he’s unclasping your bra with skilled fingers, and that’s gone from your body in a matter of moments.
You suck in a breath as he leans down to take a nipple in his mouth, nipping at it rough and urgently. Your head lolls back and you sigh. Your hands find the top of his head, weaving your fingers through his hair and pulling him closer. He bites down hard on your nipple and you whimper. Your core throbs for more of his roughness.
He comes up for air, a smear of blood across his lip, and kisses you wildly. “Turn around.” He growls, turning you so you’re facing away from him. Reaching into a drawer, he pulls out a pair of handcuffs and tugs on your arms so they are above your head. He threads the cuffs through the overhead cupboard handle and attaches them to your wrists. You tug on the restraints, but they are extremely secure, and now you are at the mercy of Detective Minho.
“Look at you.” He whispers as he cups a breast and squeezes it. “Looks like you need questioning again, hmm?” he snarls and your cunt squeezes.
Silently, he moves to the pantry, scanning the shelves. He nods when he finds what he’s looking for, a bottle of fractionated coconut oil. He takes it from the shelf and returns to resume his interrogation.
He sets the bottle of oil on the countertop and crouches behind you to yank your shorts and panties down your legs. He guides you step out of them. Leaving you naked and chained to his kitchen cupboard.
You poke your ass out as he slides his palms up the backs of your thighs, finding their grip on your cheeks and spreading you wide. You’re dripping wet. You know it. You can feel it, and the grunt that Minho emits tells you he knows you're soaking. The need for him to touch you is too great and you make some pathetic noise. But he simply stands back up, leaving your deprived pussy untouched.
He reaches into the kitchen drawer again, pulling out a silicone spatula and places that next to the oil. Then to your delight he strips off his own clothes so he is naked too. You lick your lips and take in the magnificent form that is Lee Minho.
“Oh you like that, hmm? Too bad you’re unable to touch me.” He smirks as he unscrews the bottle of coconut oil and applies some to his hands.
You moan as he runs his oiled hands down your back and over your ass, then whimper as he kneads the skin near your hips. He repeats the motion, slicking up your body with the oil and massaging your breasts and eventually your pussy.
“Fuck! Yes. Min. God.” You choke when he slides a finger inside you. You grind back against him, only for him to remove his hand and leave you empty. Your eyes follow his hand as it grasps the handle of the spatula, then you feel him dragging it down your spine.
Slap!
He hits you hard on your ass. You moan, digging your teeth into your lip.
He gently strokes you with the spatula to sooth the skin, then he pulls it back.
Slap!
He massages the red skin with his free hand.
“God, so fucking red. So pretty.”
Slap!
You cry out louder, the sting so much more harsh than the last.
And again. Slap!
You whimper, your legs feeling like jelly.
Minho is about to land another blow when a voice from the living room interrupts you.
You both freeze.
“Hey, Hyung? I had an idea for our — Woah!” Jisung stops in his tracks as he rounds the corner into the kitchen. “Oh fuck I’m sorry! I didn’t realize…wait… Y/n? Is that you?” His eyes narrow as you turn your head sheepishly.
“Hi Han, Jisung? Can I call you that?” You smile, like nothing is happening.
Jusung blinks rapidly. Then he looks at Minho who is standing in the middle of the kitchen naked and outraged, and then back at you. Finally his gaze settles on your bright red bottom.
“Yah!” Yells Minho, throwing a tea towel over your rear end to try to offer some sort of coverage.
“Hyung, Man, it’s not like I haven’t seen all of her before. Hey! Actually, what is she doing here?” Jisung’s tone turns accusatory.
Minho glares at him. It’s all it takes for Jisung to concede. He throws his hands up “Okay, I’m leaving. Even though it looks like a lot of fun and… you know I could sit on the floor underneath her… suck her clit while you continue doing your dominant thing… No? Okay. Well. I’ll go. Bye Y/n.” He waves at you.
“Bye, Jisung. Lovely to see you again.” You wink at him and the tea towel slips off, giving the stunned man a last view of you before Minho is ushering him out.
“You did that on purpose, kitten.” He growls, returning to the kitchen and pulling your head back by your hair. “Bet you wanted me to let him stay, huh?”
“No…of course not. Just want you.” You whine. The reality though, is that you would have loved to feel Jisung’s mouth against your pussy. You close your eyes at the thought and squeeze your legs together.
Minho notices it and scoffs. “I know you’re lying. Which means… punishment.”
Once again he goes to the kitchen draw, this time taking out a wooden spoon and silicone coated tongs. Your eyes widen.
“Five. You’ll receive five strikes with the wooden spoon. If you say orange or red, I stop immediately.” He gives his hand an experimental slap with the item. “Then,” he picks up the tongs, holding them in the air and letting them spring open.
You cunt clenches. The fact that Minho remembers you have a stretch kink makes your heart beat faster.
He makes his way behind you and you prepare yourself for the wooden spoon.
“You have to count for me.” He states.
He brings the wooden spoon down onto your already sore ass with a hard slap. Your legs almost give way. “One.” you cry.
He strikes you again and again. A loud slap fills the room each time the wood makes contact with your skin. Tears stream down your face and you can barely count, each number coming out like a choked sob.
“F-five.” You cry out the final number.
Minho returns the wooden spoon to the bench, then holds you in his arms. His hard, naked body against yours is comforting, his words of praise are soothing.
“Good girl. You took that so well.” He whispers, kissing your shoulder and massaging where he’d spanked you. “How was it? Not too much?” he checks in with you. “How are you feeling?”
“S’good..S’wet…Aching…p-pussy needs filling up. Need to come.” you babble.
Minho chuckles, his eyes smiling with admiration. “I’ll make sure you’re taken care of. One last thing before I fuck you. I know you can take it.”
He drizzles the end of the tongs with oil, then crouches down behind you. He holds the tongs closed and runs them through your glistening labia. You let out a moan. Then he catches your clit. He allows the tongs to open just enough so can capture it, pinching it hard.
Jolts of arousal shoot through you and you cry out.
Then you feel the tongs at your entrance and you automatically push your ass out further, giving Minho more access. Keeping the tongs closed, he slides them inside you. You must look so filthy with a pair of kitchen utensils shoved up your vagina.
He’s not gentle when he fucks you with them. He’s messy, sloppy, rough, but he manages to find your g-spot every time. You’re surely about to come, but he slows down, bringing the tongs to a standstill. You whimper, frustrated from having your orgasm stolen from you. Then you feel it. The tongs opening inside you.
“Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!” You cry.
“Color?”
“Green. Fucking green.” You scream.
He chuckles as he scissors you open.
“Fuck.” He hisses. His free hand spreads your cheek wide. “Pussy’s so good when it’s stretched like this.”
“Maybe you should’ve been a doctor.” You pant.
“Sometimes I am darlin’. You wait till I use a real speculum on this pretty cunt. Open you right up so I can see inside.”
His fingers land on your clit. The added sensation has you on the verge of release. “Minho… please. Need to come.” You beg.
“Yeah? Pussy needs to come, huh? Do it.” He starts an onslaught of scissoring then thrusting, while his deft fingers on your clit tighten that coil inside you.
You're perspiring, shaking, sobbing as you’re thrown off the precipice in an earth shattering orgasm.
“That’s it. Making a mess for me. Mmm… can hardly move these tongs you’re gripping so tight.”
You can’t even respond, your panting and shivering so hard, barely able to stand.
He eases the utensil out of you, tossing them into the kitchen sink, along with the items he used to cook for you earlier, then he’s lining himself up to your entrance.
“Just relax for me. Yes… fuck yes… that’s my girl… let me in…” he pushes himself all the way inside you. You welcome the smooth silky hardness against your walls, and he slides in and out with ease, despite your tight grip on him.
Holding onto your hips he fucks into you harder until he’s built up a brutal pace that reminds you of when you were in the interrogation room. Except this time, he leans his body against your back and massages your breasts, caresses your stomach, and plants hot wet kisses anywhere his mouth can reach.
The roughness and the softness combined sends all sorts of unfamiliar feelings through your body. You like it, it feels good, and you feel tears pricking your eyes. You’re going to come again. Any second now the tension is going to snap.
“You take me so well, Kitten. It's like you were made for me.”
That does it. You come hard around his cock with a loud wailing sound. He fucks you through it, chasing his own orgasm. “Gonna fill you. Gonna fill this perfect little cunt. My cunt.” He slams into you, almost knocking you off your feet then pulls out. He quickly works on freeing your wrists, turning you and lifting you up. Your legs wrap around his waist as he impales you on his cock, fucking you whilst he makes his way to the dining table.
He lays you down on the table, and starts to slam into you hard again. His rhythm is hard, fast, and so so deep. “Gonna fill you..” he growls as he throws his head back and empties himself inside you. He stills, but you can still feel him pulsing and filling you to the brim.
He leans over you, collapsing on your chest, and you bring your arms around him, holding him silently for a few minutes.
“Let’s go wash you.” He says eventually, pulling himself out, picking you up and carrying you to the bathroom.
Once the temperature of the water is comfortable, he helps you climb in with him and proceeds to wash your body.
It isn’t long until you’ve regained your composure and are able to stand steady on your feet. It’s only now that you can take in the man before you. You take the sponge from him, lather it up with body wash and start to wash his body. With a look of surprise and a hint of hesitation, he lets out an exhale and allows you to wash him.
He watches you as you run the sponge over his chest, down his torso, and drop to your knees in front of him. You swear you hear him whimper when your eyes land on his cock.
You drop the sponge and place your hands on his strong thighs. You need him in your mouth. He cups your cheek, tilting your head up to meet his gaze, and through hooded eyelids you silently seek permission to take care of him. He releases your chin and lets out a shaky breath when you wrap your hand around the base of his semi erect cock. Slowly, you lick the length of the underside. Then swirl your tongue around the tip. He grows rapidly, and it has you dying to choke on it.
Minho simply stands still while you work his cock, providing absolutely no help. But that doesn’t deter you. Or slow you down. You decide you’re going to choke on him all by yourself. You pop off with a plop, fill your lungs with air, then take him fully into your mouth. Cupping his delicious ass cheeks with your hands, you pull him towards you while you bob your head up and down his shaft.
You hear his breath become heavier, and a hand wraps around your wet hair, his other he rests against the tiled wall behind you.
“Look at you. So hungry for cock, you’re choking yourself.” He purrs. “I’m close… fuck, im so close.” His hips begin to press forwards, pushing his dick further into your throat. He cums quickly, spurting thick ropes cum into your mouth. “Holy shit!” He chokes as he empties himself.
After you’ve milked him of every drop and swallowed him down, he pulls you back to your feet. He looks almost bewildered when he looks into your eyes. “Y/n. How are you so perfect for me?” He whispers.
You swallow hard. You’re thinking something similar about him. Instead, you shrug. “Well I’m not sure detective. Maybe you’ll have to investigate further?” you quip.
He chuckles. “Maybe it's better to just go with it and not question it.”
You nod in agreement. “Let’s not overthink it, then.”
You both dry off, and Minho leads you to his bed, a big King size bed with black sheets and a black quilt.
“Oh, you’re not sending me on my way?” You tease.
”Fuck no. I need…need to hold you.” He says softly, pulling you onto the bed with him.
He falls asleep quickly with his arms around you and your head on his chest. His steady breath is soothing as his chest rises and falls. You’re not sure what is happening, how this man seems to be able to fill so many of your needs, or how easy he is to be around. Yet here you are, and you’re thankful you took a chance with the sex fantasy agency.
Your thoughts shift to Minho’s next assignment. Jisung in some woman’s cunt, and Minho in Jisung. Fuck, that sounds like a dream. Then your mind goes to Jisung walking in on you and Minho earlier. What would have happened if Minho asked him to stay?
You sigh, feeling confused. You've got strong feelings for Minho, yet you feel yourself grow wet at the thought of Jisung, and the rest of them.
You find Minho’s hand and thread your fingers through his. That’ll be a problem for future you. Right now you’re ready to fall asleep in the arms of someone that finally accepts you for who you are.

You belong to me - JB Angst
Summary: Even after you and Jude break up, neither one of you can seem to move on
A/n: This is super toxic I cannot lie 😭
_____________________________
It had been two months since you and Jude ended things. The split was mutual. You both weren't in a good space to be together. The constant fighting and the insecurities from both parties became too much to handle. At first it seemed like a good idea. You thought that with some distance between the two of you, you would get over him in no time. The only problem was that you couldn't seem to get that distance. You had hooked up 11 times since the break up and even when you wanted to end things, you couldn't. You missed him too much. You two tried to give the relationship another chance after the second meet up, but you both quickly remembered why you ended things. In fact, that's how every one of your meet ups went. You both missed each other, one of you called the other, you would meet up, sleep with each other, then a fight would quickly arise. Then one of you would leave abruptly and the cycle repeated itself.
You knew that this was not healthy. The first few times, your friends tried to give you advice and when you went to take it, all your walls dropped. When you were with him, you felt comfortable. But you couldn't go on like this. When Jude came over to your house that night, It ended in another fight and Jude stormed out of your apartment and you sat in bed angrily. You cried yourself to sleep again that night, as you had a lot recently. the next morning when you woke up, you remembered what had happened and you decided that enough was enough. You pulled out your phone and began to text the young footballer.
You: Jude
You: We can't keep doing this, we have to be done
Jude: but I miss you, can I please come over tonight??
you: no, we have to end things. I’m sorry
You decide to then block his number because you knew he would try to continue to convince you. You felt relief when you sent the final text message. You were ready to start a new chapter of your life. a new one without Jude. In fact you were so excited that you texted your girls about it. They all congratulated you and gave you a quick fix
friend 1: y/n I actually have the perfect solution to keep you away from Jude. I have this friend who would be perfect for you! You should both set something up.
You went for it and got his number. Over the course of the next few days, you and James were both texting back and forth, getting to know one another. You found yourself smiling at your phone a lot more and thinking about Jude less and less. You both set up a date pretty soon after your friend introduced the two of you. you were excited when you met him in person. He took you out to a nice restaurant and you were both chatting away. You were paying attention to him, and you were genuinely interested in what he had to say. He was sweet, but honestly, you could not see yourself being with him. Your friend had set you up with one of her cousins, who was not at all perfect for you. You decided to stick around tho and give him a chance. Maybe you could develop feelings. You had almost forgotten about Jude. Almost.
if it hadn't been for that stupid team dinner. That same night that James took you to a very fancy and exclusive restaurant, some of the Real Madrid players, including Jude had also decided to spend their evening in the same place. You saw him first and it was like you became a different person. You were no longer paying attention to James and could only think about Jude.
What was he doing there? Did he see you? What would you do if he saw you? You wanted him to see you. You wanted him to see that you were on a date with someone else, that were could get over him. or maybe you couldn't and you wanted him to come to you and take you away.
"Y/n, is everything alright? You seem upset" James said across from you. You looked at his eyes and you felt horrible. You needed to forget Jude.
"yes, I am so sorry. I just have to use the restroom, I will be right back." You apologized as you got up from your seat. when you got into the bathroom, you washed your hands and flicked a little bit of water on your face. You needed to stop freaking out about Jude. Just as you left the bathroom, you saw the 6'1 man standing outside.
"Who is that?" Jude asked you wasting no time.
"It shouldn't matter to you" You said back "I have to get back to my date, excuse me"
"I don't think so, I think I deserve some time of explanation" Jude tried to tell you as he blocked the exit from the hall that led back to the restaurant.
"I owe you nothing, we are completely over, please don't do this" You told him, trying to get past again. He got in front of you put his hand on your face.
"c'mon y/n, you don't miss me at all?" Jude questioned as he looked at you. "I know you do. If that guy is my replacement, then I have nothing to worry about"
You shook you head and finally started walking back to the table where James was sitting.
"Just call me when the dates over" Jude told you as you left him alone. As you walked back
"I'm back, what were you saying just before I left?" You asked while smiling at him. You owed it to him to at least finish the date.
The rest of the night went fine but you couldn't focus on your date. When you arrived at your apartment. You thought about what Jude said. You pulled out your phone and saw a message from James.
James: I had such a nice time tonight, I would love to go on a second date.
You stared at the message for a little bit but slid out of your conversation with James. There should be no reason why you shouldn’t go on another day with him. But the feelings just weren’t there. When you got to your room you looked at your phone again, but this time with a different purpose.
“I was waiting for your call” Jude said on the other end. This was a bad idea, and you knew it too. But that didn’t stop you from inviting him over. He would get there in 15 minutes. You contemplated your decision but when you heard a knock at the door you smiled and went to open it. Maybe this time would be different. ——————————————————————

Tumblr media
“thank you for your help,” the old man says with a bow.
“you’re welcome, i really hope everything goes well now,” heesung says with a bright smile.
he stares up at the sky, it’s a chilly morning. his cheeks are flushed with a red hue as he walks down the street. another case closed, he’s thankful. he’s barely making ends meet and now he’ll be in a decent financial spot for a while.
once he’s home he’ll be on to the next case. he’s making a twenty minute walk home, plus the ten it takes him to stop by the store.
by the time he’s home it’s dark. the street light flickers and he happily announces his arrival.
“ma! i won the case!” he announces happily.
his grandmother claps her hands as he exits the kitchen. “oh sung! your mother would be so proud if she were here!”
heesung’s smile tightens. he never really answers those remarks. there’s no point. he loved his mother when she was alive, same for his father. yet, they weren’t very supportive of his career choice.
“it’s expensive, sung-ah,” they’d say. “why not choose something else?”
maybe they would be supportive to see he actually did make it. the fact that they would’ve only when he is being successful is what hurts. they would’ve complained about it even when the tuition money came out of his own pockets. his whole life he’s grown up thinking he had to limit himself within the hole in their pockets.
he had enough. growth is done out of sheer will, desperation and self worth. survival is done by your own merits alone.
“we had a good day today at the restaurant,” his grandmother says. she must have been talking the whole time heesung zoned out. “but i’m afraid i’m going to have to let go of your friend jay. i can’t afford to pay for his hours anymore, business isn’t doing as good as it did back then…” she says sadly, “most of the earnings go to the bills…”
heesung stares at her, heart heavy. if only he had enough money to help her.
“i know ma…” he takes her hand and soothes her with a small rub from his thumb, “jay won’t mind, he was planning on getting a job closer to his place. he technically has been working with you since we’ve been in high school… it’s been almost 8 years?”
she sniffles, “well… i’ll talk to him tomorrow… i guess i’m just sad since the first one to leave was you… he’s almost like a son to me too…”
his heart throbs. “i’ll go shower, okay?”
she nods, “alrighty…”
she watches him leave with a saddened smile. knowing he’s starving, she makes him a plate of food. heesung comes back out a few minutes later, freshened up and hair damp still. he has a few folders under his arm.
“you’re going to keep working? aren’t you tired?”
“i’m okay ma, the shower freshened me up,” he says with a smile and settle’s everything on the table. “i get off early from the office tomorrow, i’ll pass by the restaurant for my lunch and i’ll help you out if you want.”
she stares at him, “only if you can.”
“i can and i want to.” he says before digging in to the files.
the problem with heesung is that when he starts his filing or researching, he does it for hours. at some point his grandmother wishes him good night and he’s still swarming in his own choice. it’s around 1 AM when he finally wraps it up. he washes the dishes, not wishing for his grandmother to worry about that when she wakes and then heads to bed.
he’s used to the lack of sleep, normally running on 4 to 5 hours of sleep daily and either coffee or an energy drink.
he’s running late to the office too. a natural occurrence. running short on cash normally causes him to walk… in this case run, to the office.
“ah, you’re a little over ten minutes,” sunoo teases when he walks inside the office.
“if jungwon fires me i wouldn’t hold it against him,” heesung breathes out as he wipes away the bead of sweat on his forehead.
“jungwon would rather you work from home than come here, even he hates it here.”
“i don’t want to work at home yet,” heesung argues, walking to his office, sunoo following suit. “i know i have to care for my grandma but she’s perfectly capable of herself right now. he already lets me leave for a few hours here and there to check on her at the restaurant.”
“that reminds me,” sunoo says, sitting on the chair opposite of heesung. “i want her bulgogi with lettuce. when am i getting that.”
heesung pauses, looking over at him with a look. “do you have bulgogi money?”
“grandma lee never charges me! how dare you take advantage of a broke receptionist.”
“well then tell her, not me!” heesung huffs, “aish. and get out, i have a few works to do before leaving at twelve.”
“i doubt you’ll leave at twelve, you always leave about an hour later-“
“out!”
sunoo sticks out his tongue before leaving.
heesung shakes his head, smiling a bit as he logs in to his computer to start his work. later, after hours of investing into it, he wraps it up at around 12:10. the time bitters his mood, realizing sunoo is indeed right. not exactly an hour later but still not on time.
still, leaving early is a privilege no one else has here, so he packs up his things and heads out.
he’s walking down the busy street, lunch rush evident outside the block just as it is when he enters it. he bows politely at some of the market people before calling his grandmother.
“ma~,” he sing songs when she picks up.
“yes?” she asks softly, almost as if she were whispering.
“i’m on my way, do you need me to pick up anything-“
“heesung maybe you should head back to the office.” she says, her tone strange.
“ah, but i said i’d help you today-“
“heesung just listen to me and get back to the office. i don’t need to here today, my love,” she catches a sweet tone quickly, as if seeking any way to convince him.
“huh? ma, why are you being so-“ heesung trails off as he nears the restaurant. there’s suspicious men out, he panics. “ma i’m already here, why are there so many men-“
“who are you talking to?” a rough voice says.
without a shred of hesitation, heesung sprints. he pushes past the men at the gates. when one of them pulls at his bag strap, he throws a punch at their nose before continuing his path. his heart is rabbiting in his ribcage. he truly is taken aback by what’s happening.
“ma? are you-“ he gets punched from the side.
if it weren’t for his quick reflexes he’d probably be on the floor, but he throws a punch right back the guy. a kick to the stomach and throat is what gets the guy on the floor. yet, before he can turn to his sweet grandmother, a cold metal item is pressed against his nape. he freezes.
“now tell me who the hell are you and why you knocked out two of my men already.”
heesung would’ve peed himself from fear if it weren’t for the anger and adrenaline. “your men fucking suck at taking a punch.”
“he’s my grandson!” mrs.lee cries out from a table.
“give me one good reason why i shouldn’t shoot him right now.” the man gruffs, a rough hand grabbing heesung’s arm, the grip painful.he moves heesung around to face the elder woman, “you got one minute.”
she’s practically pale from fear. “he’s a lawyer! he’ll help me pay the amount you're asking of me. h-he can double it if you’d even like.”
the fuck? heesung looks at her like she’s insane.
“a lawyer eh?” the man shoves heesung forward, harshly knocking him into the bench seats on the table his grandmother is in.
heesung catches himself and glares back at the man.
“listen, the rent for the restaurant is already five grand, bills and utilities included. but we won over this turf already, so you have to pay us to keep your little restaurant around. sadly, we don’t really want you to pay it, we’re buying this place and putting someone who works under us to have this as our meeting place. plus, your grandmother is old, she should retire already.”
heesung grits his teeth.
“you’ve got a few days to pay this months rent, our tax included, before we kick you out. and you either get kicked out without owing us money or you get licked out owing us the money, your choice.” he glares down at heesung, “and careful trying to go against us, it won’t be pretty.” he turns towards his men and gestures for their leave.
“they want to close the restaurant,” she says with teary eyes as soon as her and heesung are alone.
heesung stares at her before ripping the paper out of her hands. the demand is absurd. it’s sketchy but oh so believable. they know what they’re doing and exactly how to do it too. a few days? how many exactly? they don’t seem very lenient, if anything heesung is assuming three days at most.
“ma, this is…” he pauses, he can’t be brutal to her. “i’ll take care of it ma, remember, i’m the best lawyer you have ever met.”
she grabs his hand and rubs his knuckles with the pad of her thumb, her tears dripping down her face. “oh heesung…”
Tumblr media
heesung is running to the office again. he had missed the bus, having checked and double, triple, quadruple checked the demand and whatever else is in that stupid paper they received last night. he looks horrendous, barely put together.
his grandmother had woken up as soon as she heard him cruse and run around to get ready. despite her emotional state, she prepared him a cup of coffee and cut him a slice of cake (she said it’s for sunoo but heesung doesn’t think the guy deserves it-)
heesung crashes face forward into a wall. actually, the wall isn’t that hard. he curses and almost loses his balance when he bounces back-
“woah there, you okay?” a voice asks, a hand coming behind his lower back to help him regain his balance.
“ah, my bad, i didn’t mean to!” heesung winces, seeing how the guy’s shirt is stained with coffee. the cake he was carrying in a small plate flew out to the floor but not without smearing itself on the man’s shirt.
all worry and panic leaves heesung when a few fingers grab his chin and force him to look to the side. is the guy fucking inspecting him?!
“that’s a nasty bruise you have there,” you say, darkened eyes gazing upon the purple thing.
heesung slaps your hand away, “couldn’t tell. please step aside, i have places to be.”
“oh? where would a pretty thing like you go in such a hurry?”
“none of your business,” heesung grits out.
this guy, heesung thinks bitterly in his mind.
“well i do have to remind you that you spilled coffee over my very expensive shirt. not just coffee, look i have chocolate smeared over right here-“
“okay i get it!” heesung groans as he watches you point out the very obvious. “i don’t got money though-“
“yet, you have coffee to go and-“
“my grandmother has a restaurant, i can get these things you know,” heesung grumbles, looking around in thought. “i could invite you to dinner.”
“oh a date,” you grin stupidly.
“forget it-“
“ah but you see this stain won’t let me forget-“
“argh!” heesung groans, slamming his head against the wall.
you watch him with amusement, “hey, now. don’t go messing up your whole face, i like what i see.”
“you’re an ass,” heesung huffs, “look, i really can’t entertain you for long. this is my grandmother’s restaurant,” he takes out a card and hands it to him, heesung always carries them around, never wasting an opportunity to promote. “just go there and tell her i invited you and she’ll understand.”
“oh? i won’t have the pleasure of seeing you?” you frown.
“hell no,” heesung blurts out. “i mean-“ ugh, maybe he should you look sketchy as fuck. “fine. i get off late today though.”
“just give me an estimated time,” you say casually, putting the card away in the pocket of your shirt. “and your name.”
“eight thirty,” he says. he eyes you before going, “heesung.”
you hum, eyeing him. he really is beautiful, how sad that he has a bruise on his cheek. cute too, with his furrowed brows and glare. “quite late for dinner, but i’ll take it.”
whatever, heesung huffs. “now if you excuse me i have to go.”
he walks around you before jogging back his path to the office. he’s so glad the coffee fell on you and not on him, as much as that sounds horrible. he can’t help it.
Tumblr media
by the time heesung snaps out of all the work he’s in, it’s when his grandmother calls him. he curses through his teeth, realizing itself 9 PM already. is the guy there? shit, did he do something? he really was sketchy wasn’t he-
“heesung, my dear,” she says sweetly, “will you come by the restaurant?”
“is everything okay ma?” he asks immediately, ready to stand and run out without putting anything away.
“yes, yes. all good, but there’s a man that walked in earlier and asked if you were here already,” she says.
he swallows, “what did he look like?”
damn it, why is he asking? he doesn’t even remember what you look like, just that you’re a little taller than him but it’s not exactly by much. at least he doesn’t think so. yeah, he really can’t remember.
“mm, he was rather short, boxy and had a suit on.”
okay that definitely isn’t you though. “uh, i’ll head out right now.” there’s a silence on the other side of the phone after he announces that. he stops packing and questions her. “ma?”
“it’s… going to be hard isn’t it?” grandmother asks.
heesung fidgets, “don’t worry about it ma, i’m coming back to the office tomorrow. i’ll leave really early, this will be over as soon as possible.”
“okay, be safe on your way.”
“will do.”
would the men really try anything outside the restaurant? he genuinely doesn’t know. he can’t help but glance around every now and then as he goes down the street. it’s crowded tonight but even in movies a crowd is the best distraction. ah, he really is screwed isn’t he? he has no evidence, no information.
he really won’t be of any use, will he? even for his grandmother?
heesung stares at his shoes as they walk on the pavement. what will he do? what can he do?
he looks up when he’s finally close to the restaurant, turning the corner. seems like no customers tonight- his heart drops when he’s yanked from behind. he expected a knife or a gun pressed against him but when his eyes catch your devilish smile, he gets angry.
“FUCK,” heesung gasps, looking at you like you’re insane. he shoves you before yelling, “the fuck you scared me for?”
you chuckle, amused at his reaction. “you must have a lot on your mind to have not noticed you even pushed me aside a minute ago.”
“what?” he goes droopy, looking back at the path he came. there’s a car parked down the street there. did he really not see you? “well, whatever. come on, let’s get something to eat.”
“you’re hungry?” you ask, enjoying his personality already.
he guides you past the gates, but something catches your eye when he pushes one of the gate doors to a complete openness.
“oh heesung! you’re here!” a voice chirps happily from a few feet away.
“ah, ma i brought someone with me and we’ll get something to eat if you don’t mind.” he says, bowing at her figure that pops up at the door.
“of course, you don’t have to ask for permission.”
heesung smiles brightly at her before turning to you. you take him aback, however.
“may i speak with you out here for a moment?” you say, cold and with a dark expression.
heesung stares at you, confused at how quickly your mood changed. “uh, sure?” he turns to his grandmother who’s sweeping, “ma, we’ll be outside, give us a minute!”
“okay, love,” she says, continuing her way to sweep away.
heesung follows you when you take a few steps away. “what is it? my grandmas cooking is good, don’t tell me you’re backing out just because it’s not a high end restaurant-“
“did you get that bruise from a man named si-hyeong?”
everything shifts under heesung. what the hell are you talking about? he takes a moment to eye you up and down. one; he doesn’t know your name. two; who the hell is si-hyeong? three; what the fuck.
“uh…”
“better yet, did one of his men hurt you?”
“i don’t know who your talking about- and, why are you asking-“
you point at a small graffiti design on the floor, just under the gate door and extremely close to its hinges. how the hell you saw that, he doesn’t know. even he can’t exactly see it that well.
“tell me, did they threaten your grandmother?”
heesung snaps his eyes back at you. “i… yeah…”
with a nod, you look around. “may i ask what you work as?”
heesung narrows his eyes. “first, tell me your name. don’t lie to me either.”
you stare at him, “my name is l/n y/n.”
“okay, and before i tell you what i do depends on what you tell me.”
a small smile plays on your lips. “i’m simply from an organization that can help you keep your grandmother’s restaurant and get those men off your necks depending on your answer.”
heesung chews on the inside of his cheek. you really are sketchy. “i’m a lawyer.”
“who’s barely making ends meet if i remember correctly,” you tease.
“fuck you,” heesung huffs.
“well, lawyer heesung,” you say, stepping real close to heesung’s personal bubble. “if you help me, i’ll help you. i’m assuming they’ve given you a short amount of time to pay whatever absurd thing they’ve requested.”
heesung eyes you before nodding, for some reason he feels like you’re decently trustworthy. “yeah… but what is it?” you raise a brow, he elaborates. “what do you need?”
“a couple of things,” you smile, “but first i need to speak to the sweet lady that owns this place.”
heesung grants you just that.
“you’re quite the handsome man, are you a friend of heesung?” grandmother lee asks.
you stare at the elderly lady, eyes narrow. “you could say that.”
she smiles, placing a cup of coffee in front of you. you watch the steam before gently taking it, bowing respectfully at her in thanks. heesung sighs, sitting next to you on the small couch.
“mrs.lee, i’m working with heesung in your case, i had a question to make.” you say decisively.
she looks at you with a startled expression. “oh! go ahead,” she smiles.
“when did they come to threaten you about paying more in your bills?” you eye her, hands on the coffee mug. “on your rent?”
heesung looks at you annoyingly before facing his sweet grandmother with a soft expression. he doesn’t know why a knot forms in his throat when she stops smiling.
“yes… a man came in a few weeks ago, maybe even a month or two ago, saying i had to pay more. an absurd price….” she looks down.
heesung’s brows furrow. when did this happen? why hasn’t she told him? he naturally looks over at you, who has an indecipherable expression.
“and did you pay it?”
her eyes water, “i had to… he and his men said if i didn’t then they’d hurt my boys.”
“your boys?” you ask, unsure of who she means other than heesung.
“my best friend works with her, she technically raised us both,” he elaborates gently. “ma, why didn’t you tell me? is that why you told jay to-“
“you won’t have to worry about those men coming to threaten you anymore,” you say, eyes boring into her. “because i know they have.”
she nods, confessing the issue. heesung can’t believe this. his poor grandmother has been suffering from such goading. he won’t stand by it. with a kiss of reassurance on the forehead he sends her to bed, staying back to watch you go. you ended up not getting a meal, requesting a coffee instead. you had promised her to return soon for a meal though.
“so we start tomorrow, right?” he says as he guides you out the house.
the height difference is a little noticeable as you stand by the gate and look down at him. the street light casting a shadow on heesung from your frame. your eyes are intense, he realizes they always are.
“i’ll pick you up?” you smile, expression changing.
he’s unsure if it’s creepy or amusing. “uh, i’ll get there on bus. just send me the address.”
“it’s really far.”
“yeah.”
“you could get lost, it’s also really secluded.”
“okay.”
“it would be more efficient if i send someone to pick you up-“
“i don’t care! just send me the address! i’ll be there at 9 exact! don’t look down on me you piece of shit.” he huffs before spinning around and leaving you outside the house gates.
you smile as his figure disappears inside the house. it might seem you’ll get more than what you’re looking for.

⇦ Prologue
━━━━
— The next day after I lost my memories.
Kate: … Thank you for the meal.
I sat at the breakfast table, but my mind was fully occupied by the fact I’d lost my memories…
In the end, I only had a small portion of fruit and some morning tea before getting up from my seat.
(I wonder how I can get my memories back…)
Even after leaving the dining hall, that was all I could think about.
Just then, I heard someone’s footsteps coming from behind me.
Roger: Wait up, lil’ lady.
Roger: We had a date planned for today. It’s still on, right?
(I don't recall anything about a date. Does this mean I made that promise before I lost my memories?)
I found myself unconsciously staring at Roger’s face in confusion, and then he suddenly reached out to grab my chin—
Tumblr media
Roger: …
Kate: … W-what do you think you’re doing!?
When I realised our lips were just mere inches apart, I quickly pushed against his broad and sturdy chest to stop him.
Roger: Hm? You were staring so intently at me, I thought you wanted a kiss. … Was I wrong?
Kate: Definitely wrong!
(Don’t tell me, Roger and I were dating? Even if we were, his explanation is too self-centered…!)
(I can’t believe this egotistical man is my lover!)
Roger: Well, a promise is a promise. You're going on a date with me.
As I stood there all flustered, Roger’s lips curled into a mischievous grin.
(... Whether Roger is really my lover or not, it might've been a good idea to come out to town.)
Hoping that seeing the familiar streets might jog my memory, I followed after Roger—
Roger: Having someone with me to carry the bags really does make a difference.
Kate: This isn't a date, now is it!?
(We went to several pharmacies, bought tons of medicine and bandages… there’s no way this counts as a date.)
Roger: It is, though? A shopping date.
Kate: I’m not seeing anything remotely romantic about this…
Roger: Come on, don’t start slowing down. We’ve got more places to drop by.
Kate: More? My hands are already at their limit, can’t we take a break…?
At the same time I said that, my stomach let out a loud growl, announcing that it “wanted a break” too.
Roger: Pfft, HAHAHAHAHA!
Kate: T-that’s because you dragged me all over town…
Roger: In that case, I’ll treat you to whatever you want, as an apology.
Kate: Eh? But…
(Is he really okay with that?)
Roger: What’re you hesitating about? We’re close enough for me to do that. Let’s go.
Tumblr media
Roger: This is my regular spot.
Roger: Let’s look at the menu… you’re good with starting off with a beer, right?
Kate: S-sure.
Roger: Then we’ll have some snacks, something hearty for the main dish, and…
While I scanned the menu, Roger placed our orders and sounded like he really was familiar with the place.
When the food finally arrived…
Kate: Fish and chips, aged meat, potatoes seasoned with rock salt, banbury cake…!
Kate: Wow… these are all my favourites!
Roger: … I see.
The small feeling of confusion I got… was because I expected him to go “told you so” when I expressed my delight at the food.
Instead, Roger’s eyes were slightly narrowed, looking as though he was reminiscing about a memory I couldn’t recall.
Tumblr media
(Could it be that we’ve eaten together before?)
(Is that why Roger knows exactly what I like…?)
Roger: What’s wrong? You stopped eating. Come on, eat up.
Kate: Ah, right… thanks for the meal!
When I looked at him again, his facial expression was back to his usual grin.
I took a bite of the steak and a smile naturally formed on my lips the moment the flavours spread in my mouth.
Roger: That’s the smile I want to see. You have a bad habit of overthinking things to the point of losing your appetite.
Roger: I know you’re getting all sorts of uneasy emotions right now, but you should eat well, sleep well, play hard, and laugh even harder. That’s how you keep your spirits up.
Kate: Okay!
(... Maybe that's the real purpose of today’s shopping trip.)
Roger must’ve noticed how troubled I looked this morning and took me outside to distract me.
I still wasn’t sure if we really had a shopping trip planned for today before I lost my memories,
(But I’m not going to ask.)
Had Roger not asked me out, I probably would’ve spent the entire day alone and brooding over my memory loss.
Tumblr media
Roger: These mashed potatoes soaked in the meat’s juices are amazing.
Roger: We should order more. You can still eat, right?
Kate: Yes, of course!
(I’m glad I accepted Roger’s invite.)
Kate: Thank you so much, Roger. Eating really cheered me up.
(I always thought Roger was a pushy, selfish egotist, but he’s actually so kind and dependable.)
I found myself wondering about my past self before I lost my memories.
(Did I… know this side of Roger before?)
Roger: Why are you looking at me like that? Are you falling for me?
(If only he wouldn't say such things…!)
Kate: … It seems I’ve had a lover before. So I can’t think of falling for anyone else right now.
Tumblr media
Roger: A past lover…?
Roger: Instead of clinging to your old flame, why not take this as a chance to choose again?
Roger: Be my lover, Kate.
Kate: T-that'd count as being disloyal towards my lover. And besides…
(Even though I’ve lost my memories, there’s still one thing I can say for certain.)
Kate: If I did have someone I once loved, I believe I’ll fall in love with them again.
Tumblr media
Roger: … Fall in love again, huh.
I couldn't tell what were the emotions that flickered behind his wavering eyes.
But, in the very next moment—
Roger: Well, if ever you want to go to bed with me, just say the word.
(This man, seriously…!)
He said those utterly shameless words in broad daylight while downing his beer in one breath, and I barely managed to hold myself back from punching him.

NOKSAN-DONG, BUSAN, SOUTH KOREA: OCTOBER 17, 2010
The coffee stains on Haneul’s crumpled-up notepad were the only sign that she was still alive — that even if she hadn’t left her room for days, the bitter, dark coffee her mother gave her was the only thing keeping her sane. Trash of all sorts made a small mountain-like attraction at the foot of her bed, takeout boxes from various restaurants lived on her fridge, and piles of unwashed dishes were slowly trying to take over her kitchen sink. Her mother, who was tired of lecturing her, tried to reason with the young woman. She would text her day and night about how she’s so young and that she’s wasting her time on some silly passion called music.
“XY Entertainment is now holding auditions in Noksan High School for young men and women aged ten to fifteen! If you want to be the next Taeyon, auditions start tomorrow until the twentieth!” the old man on the television spoke, piquing Haneul’s interest. Gathering all the energy left on her body, she quickly left her room.
“Mom, is it okay if I don’t go to school tomorrow?” Haneul smiled.
Her mother, who was busy putting red nail polish on her hand, nodded. “Just make sure to come home by seven, okay? Lots of bad people are kidnapping kids nowadays,” her mother snickered. “This is the last time you’ll audition, okay? You should be getting ready to go to America, to your Aunt Hyebin! Money is there!”
“Money is also here, Mom. Money is everywhere!” Haneul rolled her eyes. “Don’t you want to brag to your friends about how famous your daughter is?”
“Are you already on Patti Kim’s level yet? Choi Haneul, work hard first, then you’ll be the next Patti Kim.”
Haneul, who was not listening to her mother rant about how Patti Kim was amazing, was already thinking of what song she would audition with tomorrow. “Hey, go away! Invincible Youth is starting!”
“How’s your audition?” the girl beside her asked. The day of the audition finally came, and Haneul was nervous, to say the least. Her hands were starting to clamp up as beads of sweat started to form on her forehead.
“It was good,” Haneul said, her heart beating out of her chest. “I just passed.”
JAMSIL OLYMPIC STADIUM, SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA: NOVEMBER 27, 2022
“Can you tell the people next door to keep it down?” she whispered, her focus solely on the iPad in her hand. It was probably the shitty walls of this four-cornered room but as much as she wanted to review her practice video yesterday, the loud singing from outside was the only thing she could hear in this godforsaken place. “I swear, if they don’t stop singing, I might cut my ears off.”
Well, not really. The singing was rather good, but at nine in the morning? She’d rather stick a fork in her ear. “I really can’t do much. It’s Seventeen beside you. You know how they roll,” her stylist laughed as she carefully chose the pieces that Haneul was going to wear later tonight.
“Do you think I could probably ask Seungkwan?” she asked. “We’re kinda close, maybe. We did a variety show together eons ago.”
“Maybe,” she said. “Or just endure the singing. They have great voices, you’ll live.”
It was award season, and honestly, she just wished she could sack it off and go back home to Busan. Not that she wasn’t grateful or anything. But being the ‘token’ nomination this year wasn’t really on her agenda. As a soloist, it was really hard for Haneul to compete with these big groups, sometimes making her doubt herself as an artist. But here we are, getting forced by her manager to wear these obnoxious dresses while she fakes a smile for the camera. “You know what, I’m knocking,” she said as she stood up and grabbed her robe. The dressing rooms weren’t that far apart. She could clearly hear DK and Seungkwan singing their butts off.
DRESSING ROOM #3A: SEVENTEEN.
“Hey, shut it down! Someone’s knocking!” a voice yelled. The door slightly opened, revealing a disheveled Mingyu who looked like he had just woken up from a deep slumber. “Oh, Haneul sunbae-nim,” Mingyu said. As he omitted her name, the speaker was quickly turned off as they all tried to bow their heads.
“Oh, you don’t need to bow, it’s okay,” she chuckled, noticing how quickly they changed their demeanor. “I just wanted to ask if you could keep the music down?”
“Of course, sunbae-nim!” Seungkwan shouted and bowed again. “We’re sorry!”
God, they were so energetic. “It’s fine!” she said. “Go back to what you were doing before. See you later,” she smiled. Some of them murmured goodbye, and some bowed again, but Woozi wasn’t really trying to make eye contact with her. He just whispered, bowed, and went back to fiddling with his phone again.
“So, what did they say?” her stylist asked as she went back to her room. “Let me guess, they turned it down?”
“Yeah, they did,” she laughed. “They’re nice people.”
“Haneul, here’s the list of producers that want to work with you. Just pick someone and we’ll ask if they’re available,” her manager said. For her tenth anniversary, Haneul has been writing songs to fully capture her ten years in the industry — loved by many, maybe hated by a few. Haneul wasn’t going to lie, because of her rock-hard heart, some people in her own industry were probably annoyed by her. But she didn’t care, not one bit. All she ever wanted to do was to make music, not to get chummy with people she might not even see in the future. “Woozi?” her interest piqued.
“Yep, I was shocked as well,” her manager admitted. “I thought he only worked with Seventeen. I guess not.”
“Is he available?” Haneul asked as she took a sip of her kombucha. “Working with a new producer doesn’t seem bad, right? Widening my horizons and all.”
“Maybe you could ask him later,” her manager suggested. Outside of broadcasts and music shows, Haneul and Woozi never really interacted with each other. The only two she had a connection with in Seventeen were Seungkwan and DK.
LE CHAMBER, SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA: NOVEMBER 27, 2022
In this cutthroat industry, having friends was a luxury. If you choose the right people, you were considered lucky. For Haneul, she only has three friends by her side — Jijoo, Hyeran, and Yujin, the three other auditionees who got in with her. “Should we just sack this off and go smoke outside?” Jijoo whispered as the four of them stood awkwardly at the after-party.
“Joo, this after-party was literally made for us. Just stand there and act as if you’re not bored.” Yujin faked a smile as the industry's higher-ups were eyeing them up and down. What a bunch of creeps.
“Okay, are you looking for someone, or are you just looking for the bar?” Hyeran chuckled, weirded out by Haneul, who was visibly looking for someone.
“I’ll be back.” Haneul breathed. She then walked slowly towards Woozi, who was alone at the farthest booth from everyone else, with his back against the wall. “Hey, is it a great time to talk?” Haneul asked, her fingertips softly touching the wine glass in her hand.
“Of course, sunbae-nim,” Woozi said, his voice so low only Haneul could hear.
“Just call me Haneul. We’re both the same-age.” Haneul smiled as she sat beside Woozi. “So, I saw your name on the list of producers who wanted to work with me. Is that real?” she asked, her gaze planted on his eyes.
“Oh, yeah. I’ve always wanted to work with you.” Woozi bubbled, eyes glowing from the strobe lights surrounding them. “Not because I like you or anything. No, I like you as a person, but not like that. I like you as a colleague. Yeah, as a colleague,” he blabbered, obviously flustered at Haneul’s presence.
“It’s fine.” Haneul laughed. “I get what you’re saying.”
The crowd had doubled since earlier. Both of their friends were nowhere to be seen. It was just them amongst sweaty, drunk idols who wanted a taste of freedom just for the night. As the night progressed, the only sound Woozi could hear was Haneul’s voice. As if everything got filtered, and he got lucky. Heart thumping out of his chest, this was probably the first time he felt this way. He felt nervous yet excited at the same time. “If it’s okay, I have a couple of songs that would fit you.” Woozi shyly said, his eyes never leaving hers.
“That would be amazing, Woozi.”

hiii guys, I'm baaackk
Okay, first of all, I'm nervous as hell for posting this lol so please be kind. It's the first time I'm posting a fanfic, so it won't be perfect, because my native language is not English, so there are probably some mistakes. This first chapter is a little short, but eventually I will increase it.
I want to thank @claramelooo very VERY VERY much for reading and liking it, if it weren't for her and her incentives this would never leave the drafts jsjsjsjs, a huge thank you also to @wandasgirl69 for being the sweetest person and also having encouraged me 🫶🏻
Okayy, I think that's it :P please tell me your thoughts and if you liked it :)
I Love You, I'm Sorry
Chapter 1: Do I know you?
Alright, just a few adjustments here and there, a bit more time passing than usual, and I finally make it into the store. It’s almost evening, so the place is pretty much empty. I step inside with a soft sigh, hands practically glued to my pockets, and head straight for the meat section.
Everything seems relatively calm — I haven’t bumped into anyone since I got here. But then, that strange feeling hits me again. I grip the shelf in front of me tightly as I hear children laughing and a voice, way too sweet, calling for a little girl. I know it’s a girl — there’s no mistaking the yellow dress she’s wearing. I can’t quite catch the name, but it sounds oddly like Emma. I always brush it off, though. If it really is Emma, I’d have to start taking all this way more seriously.
As quickly as it came, the feeling fades. I can breathe again. I lean more against the shelf and let out a shaky breath — but there’s no time to dwell on it, because once again, I feel someone next to me. And she’s reaching out— NO.
I’ve got less than a second to take a step back and tell this poor woman I’m perfectly fine. But I freeze the moment I see her eyes. That same strange feeling — that vision — hits me like a runaway train. Her eyes… they’re exactly the same as the little girl I’ve been seeing every day for the past three weeks. The same slightly golden rims, the same melted chocolate color, the same gaze.
But it’s weird — I’ve never actually seen the girl’s eyes before now.
I snap out of it when the woman gives me a light shake. It yanks me back to the present — and that terrifies me. It’s never happened like this before.
“Are you okay, dear?” I hear her ask, her brows arched in concern.
I nod, though my head’s still spinning.
“Yeah, it’s just… a bit of a headache.” I try to smile at her, but I know it comes out more like a grimace. And how do I know? The look of exasperation on her face is almost touching.
“I live just a block away. Let’s walk. I’ve got tea that’ll fix a headache in five minutes,” she says — and just like that, she turns and leaves me standing there.
She just walks off.
But after five steps, she glances back, one brow raised, like she’s saying, “You coming or what?”
So I follow her. Like a lost puppy.
I don’t even know how we got out of the store, let alone into her house. But when I come to, I’m sitting in an armchair with a cup of tea in my hands and a shawl that smells like cinnamon and incense draped over my shoulders.
I blink, trying to ground myself, and look at the woman — she’s staring at me like I’m a complete mystery. Which, to be fair, I probably am. And she definitely isn’t far off either.
“Do you always invite random women into your house like this? I could’ve been a psychopath.”
It’s probably the dumbest thing I could say in a stranger’s home — especially because she…
“And what if I’m the psychopath, hmm? Do you always accept tea from strange women that easily?”
I shoot her a glare, narrowing my eyes.
“I would’ve sensed that when you touched me.”
“Your magic’s as unpredictable as you are, sweetheart. We both know that.”
Clock.
The first sign.
My blood runs cold instantly. I’m frozen, just staring at the woman in front of me.
“This is our twentieth meeting, stellina . You’ll remember eventually. This one… and all the others,” she says, with a strange sadness in her expression.
I open my mouth to ask what she’s talking about — but then the second hand ticks and the sound feels deafening in my skull. I must’ve touched too many people today.
“What are you talking about?”
She looks at me with a soft, almost mournful smile and shifts in her seat, fiddling with her ring finger — and only then do I notice she’s wearing a wedding ring.
It happens again. But this time it’s not a vision — it’s real. A little girl runs into the room, shouting happily. She’s smiling, so bright and calm. I stare at her in shock.
It’s her — the same girl I’ve been seeing in my visions for the past three weeks. How…?
“You’re back, Mom!”
Mom.
“Emma, no—”
The woman starts talking to the girl — Emma — but I can’t focus. Everything around me starts to fall apart, disintegrating like it always does. Every… day? Month? Week?
But through the cracks I see her — Emma, my daughter — playing with a little boy, and a woman calling them.
The same woman from the visions.
The same woman sitting in front of me now.
The mother of my daughter.
My wife.
Lilia Calderu.
… was this really the correct order of events?

Part 1 | House of the Dragon Masterlist
After your audience with the Alicent, you and your father are escorted to accommodations in Maegor's holdfast. Both rooms are opulent and luxurious, befitting of your station but you see them for what they truly are. A gilded cage that will be your home for the next two months until you’re wed to Prince Aemond.
Once the guards leave, your father speaks, his hushed voice vibrating with anger. “I never should have brought you here. When they asked for me to bring my heir I did not ever consider…”
“You could not have known they wanted more than your coin,” you assure, reaching for him. “We knew there would be a cost to pay for supporting Rhaenyra. My brother paid with his life. Marriage pales in comparison. The rest of the family will be safe.”
“Aemond is a monster. At best a Kinslayer,” he hisses. You raise your hands to quiet him, aware of the two guards outside the door.
“Father, please….”
He deflates at your words. “I wanted better for you. A gentle, honorable husband to protect and care for you as you deserve.”
He pulls you into his chest to press a kiss to your brow. A strong wave of emotion climbs up your throat  Even as your eyes sting, you force your tears not to fall. Grief has made your father wild and you worry what he might do if you showed him the depths of your fear.  All you can do is wrap your arms around his middle, taking comfort in his familiarity. Soon he will be gone and you will be alone in a den of dragons.
“It is done,” you say finally, covertly swiping at the dampness on your lashes when you pull away. You clear your throat and steady your voice. “I will write a letter to mother and my sisters for you to bring home. Yo wi’ll need a list of my personal effects to bring back too.”
“Even now, you are thinking ahead,” he says, cupping your face. He carries so much love in his expression it hurts. “Any future correspondence will be monitored.”
“It will. I think we should prepare for the chance…” you begin, only to trail off when you hear the doors open.
Otto Hightower sweeps, the golden highlights woven into his green robes catching in the candlelight. Behind him trails Prince Aemond like a dark shadow. He stops at the threshold of your room, hands clasped behind his back.
“Pardon our interruption,” the Hand begins with that same false smile Alicent wore earlier. “Prince Aemond has kindly offered to show you the Red Keep while I speak with your father.“
“That is kind of him,” you acknowledge.
“If there are important matters to discuss, my daughter should be present,” your father says.
“Oh, it is only the matter of the dowry and a few other issues she need not concern herself with,” he tells your father with a dismissive wave.
“I am my father’s heir.” Otto shifts his attention to you with a raised brow and you know then that you’ve spoken too harshly. “It is only that I wish to ensure everything with the betrothal goes smoothly,” you add hurriedly with a demure smile.
“Such dedication,” the Hand praises. “Dutiful daughters make for obedient wives,” he notes, looking meaningfully at you.
There is no mistaking the subtle message underneath the compliment he gives you. A reminder of your place.
“You are kind to say, Lord Hand.”
You drop your gaze and wait until your father touches your shoulder. When you look up through your lashes, you’re surprised to see Aemond mere inches from you.
He offers you his hand, palm rough against your soft skin. As you walk, Aemond guides your hand to rest on his bicep and pulls you closer to his body. You glance back behind, relieved to see an older Septa fall in step behind you at a respectable distance. Aemond follows your gaze with a smirk that you suspect might be part of his natural expression.
"Tell me," he begins as you walk together, "do you agree with my grandsire's assessment that a wife should be dutiful and obedient?"
The directness of his question surprises you.
“The seven teach us there are many virtues a good wife should possess,” you respond carefully, glancing up at him to gauge his reaction to your words. You’re unsurprised to find him watching you closely. It’s unnerving to be the sole focus of his sharp attention. “I think the more important question is what virtues do you desire in a wife, Prince Aemond?”
“Obedience is a desired attribute in hounds, not a wife," he reveals. "I am more interested in loyalty.”
Fear coils in your belly in response to his words, a cold knot that tightens with every step you take beside him. Loyalty was a demand that cut deeper than obedience, especially with your own family’s fidelity in question.
“It is an admirable trait,” you agree, choosing your words with care. Your father’s gold could only ease so much doubt. They would always remember that your family chose Rhaenyra over them. No pretty words you might spin for Aemond would change that.
“I have heard dragons are loyal creatures,” you add, hoping to direct his attention to a less volatile topic. “They say you ride the largest one that ever lived.”
“Her name is Vhagar.”
“A dragon worthy of a prince,” you reply. That comment earns you a quick look you can’t quite decipher. Then Aemond hmms, returning his attention ahead. “Where are we headed?”
“The gardens. My sister is fond of them. Or perhaps we can see the new tapestries my mother had made in Essos.”
“Oh,” you reply, quick to hide your disappointment. You suspected most women would have found a stroll through the beautiful flowers with a Prince romantic, but there were other parts of the keep you were keen to explore.“I have heard the gardens of the keep are unmatched, even compared to the Reach.”
A hint of your true feeling must show because Aemond looks curiously at you. “You wish to see something else?"
“No, my prince,” you murmur, gaze downcast. “The gardens sound lovely.”
Aemond stops abruptly, stepping in front of you.
“Do not lie,” he hisses, grasping your chin and forcing you to meet his gaze. His long fingers span the length of your jaw and an anxious sort of energy skitters down your spine at the look on his face. “You may spin pretty words to tell others what they want to hear, but never me.”
You search frantically for the right words to appease him or redirect his attention. In your experience, men wanted you to be agreeable, deferring to their desires and whims. “Forgive me your grace,” you stutter. “I promise to be forthright in the future when asked for my opinion.”
He watches for one long, agonizing moment, his one-eyed gaze searching for something beneath the surface. It isn’t until the Septa behind you coughs politely that Aemond’s attention leaves you. The look he offers her is less-than-kind.
“Now,” he says softly, his focus once more on you, “what do you wish to see?”
There is nothing to give him but the truth. “The library.”
If Aemond is curious about your choice he does not show it. He offers you a curt, “very well,” and guides you back to his side with a hand on your wrist.
You continue on in silence as the stone walls adorned with tapestries and flickering torchlight give way to a large, open courtyard. It’s busier in this part of the keep, servants and nobles alike stopping as you pass to bow or curtsy. Aemond pays them little mind, but you can’t look away, all too aware that they will bow to you as well once you become a princess of the realm.
The weight of that expectation settles on your shoulders like a heavy yoke and with each step forward you find yourself more and more uncertain of how the future will look beside Aemond.
I no longer have a tag list, please follow @hg-library and turn on notifications.

Two bikes (1)
Two bikes masterlist
Tumblr media
He moves slowly but with enough strength to punch the air out of your lungs. You gasp with every powerful thrust, torn between lust and regret.
How could you end up in his arms? How could you let him fool you again?
“I knew you’d feel this good, baby,” he groans in your neck. His body presses yours into the mattress and you are glad that he can’t see your face.
You’re close to tears because of your bad decision of getting close to the man breaking your heart more than once.
If only he chanted your name when you were not tangled in each other. If only he meant the words he whispers in your ear while taking you apart.
You know better, and still, you fell for him again.
“Look at you, all fucked out,” he groans with the last thrust. He is still on top of you, his face buried in your neck long after he came inside of you. You feel his chest pressed against your back, so close that it feels like you are one person. “Shit, you gave me another one.”
He finally slips out of you, huffing as you do not move. “That was amazing,” he says while already looking for his pants. “Uh-maybe you should head home. It’s getting late and I’d hate for you to walk in the dark.”
“I-“ your voice fails. How can he be a passionate and sweet lover one moment, and the next he turns into the selfish asshole you know so well. “You’re right.”
You slip out of bed to grab your clothes and throw them on. He watches you hastily dress with amusement. “You can go slow. Give me a little show.”
“Fuck you,” you snap at him. You walk out of the room, your jacket, bag, and one shoe tugged under your arm to get away from the next mistake you made. “How could I have been so stupid?”
You walk away, ignoring passersby watching you walk along the sidewalk with only one shoe on. Your apartment isn’t far away from his place, and you are too out of it to put your second shoe on.
You’re more running than walking when you see your building. With your last strength, you spring toward the building and unlock the door with shaking fingers.
You stare at the word count before rereading the words. “That’s awful. A bad sex scene and the angst doesn’t hit right.” You rub your tired eyes. “Three hours and I only got three hundred and eighty lousy words. You’ve got to be kidding me, Y/N.”
Slamming the laptop shut you sigh deeply. Of course, your personal experience is always a good inspiration, but not this time. You want to start this book with a perfect opening, so the reader doesn’t want to put the book away until they read every single sentence.
“What do we do?” you hide your face in your hands and sigh again. Since the day you met Jax again, your mood turned sour.
You believed coming back to your hometown would spark your inspiration. Instead, you got your heart broken by the very same man causing you to leave town years ago.
“Fuck, I need to come up with something better than this shit.”
You’re about to give up when your phone starts ringing. Reluctantly you leave your unfinished first chapter to answer the call. “Hello, this is…”
You don’t get to tell your name before Bucky calls you doll. “Hey, doll,” he chuckles when you squeak a hello. “I wanted to tell you that I fixed your car. You can get it this afternoon if you want to.”
“That would be great, James,” you smile to yourself. Hearing Bucky’s voice saved you from despairing over your first chapter. “I can be there at five, is that okay?”
“No, no doll,” he stops you before you can say more. “I’ll pick you up, doll. I can’t let you walk or take the bus. And please, stop calling me James. My father called me that when I did something stupid. I hate it.”
“Did he call you James often?” you tease. “I bet he did because you did something stupid all the time. Like smoking or driving too fast.”
“Ma’am, I’m a responsible driver, and I do not smoke,” he replies, but you hear the joke in his words. “Maybe I like a good drink, but that’s all. Oh, and don’t worry. I don’t drink and drive.”
“I can call a taxi, Bucky. You don’t have to pick me up,” you try not to owe Bucky another favor. He refused to take money from you for repairing your car. That’s more than enough.
“Doll, if we want to stay friends,” he tries to sound serious, but chuckles, “you’ll accept a ride on my bike, miss. I’ll pick you up at five pm sharp. Please wear something…nice.” He laughs when you mutter into the phone. “Nah, just kidding. Come as you are, Y/N. That’ll be enough.”
“Fine, but I’ll pay you back somehow.” He makes an odd noise but plays it cool. “Oh! I know. I’ll devote the first chapter of my new book to you, Mr. Barnes.”
“A new book!” He gasps. “Will it be about the same woman? Another part of your series? Please say yes.”
You’re surprised Bucky knows your books. “Yes, and no. I try to…I don’t know.” You huff. “I want her to have a fresh start, just like me. Old habits die hard, but it’s time. If you know what I mean.”
“I know damn well what you mean, doll. I’ll pick you up at five and we can talk about that fresh start some more…”
Tumblr media
“Here,” Bucky holds a leather jacket in his hands. It’s too small to be his, and you frown. “I got you a jacket, so you won’t freeze.” He grins when you glance at the jacket.
“Bucky, I’m not your old lady,” you point out, knowing about the traditions of bikers.
“Not yet,” he retorts. Bucky helps you into the jacket, and a big smile on his face when he zips it up. “Looks good on you, Y/N.”
You roll your eyes. He’s very charming, but you know the flirty banter will turn into something more if you don’t stop him. But…do you want to stop him?
“I got you a helmet too,” he grabs the helmet and helps you to put it on. He taps it twice and grins. “Perfect. Now we can go for a ride…”
Bucky gets on his bike, planting his feet on the ground to steady it. He holds out his hand to help you get on the back of his bike.
“Hang on, baby. I don’t want you to fall off my bike.” He smirks when you laugh. “You can hold tight onto me, Y/N. I won’t mind.”
You hesitate for a second. This situation is a little too familiar for your liking. You look at his back, reading the wrong club’s name on it. “Howling Commando,” you whisper.
“Is everything alright,” Bucky asks. “We can wait if you’re scared of driving in the back.”
“No,” you shake the memories of the past off and wrap your arms tightly around Bucky. “All good, Bucky. We can go.”
He starts the engine, ignoring he can feel you pressed against him. If he gets too distracted by your closeness, he’ll crash his bike with you in the back. And that’s the last thing he wants to do…

On the corner / the red string theory
What if Wymack met Andrew when he was a kid?
Intro
A while ago, seized by inspiration, I wrote a 16,500 word au fic after this beautiful prompt took my brain hostage. (It also provides the dialogue for the first conversation in this fic.) I don't do Ao3 so in a fit of courage I decided to post it here, in the hope it resonates with some of you.
I wrote it as Andrew's alternative origin story: different to the one we know, but still bringing us towards the Andrew we end up seeing. Wymack is living peacefully as a high school coach in a small town. Most of the others are technically ocs but heavily inspired by canon characters. The sport could be exy or some more mundane form of stickball.
Oh yeah and no Moriyama / mafia angle. They have more than enough problems without it.
Please know the fic makes no attempt to be a textbook for how things should be done. I'm aware some of it is definitely not how things should be done, but this is how the story rolls.
TW - same as for canon Andrew Minyard ie. references to sexual abuse, and even though it's more implied than explicit he's also much younger. Also violence and tragedy in various other forms as this is, after all, aftg. Please take care.
More official TWs (plus related fic recs!) are here.

Chapter 1
The sky is luminous yellow as only winter skies can be, the smoky yellow of baked custard. If you half-close your eyes, the glowing sky merges with the glare from the sodium lights and feels like a scene from an alien world.
In the yellow twilight kids from the neighbouring school laugh and tease each other outside the corner store. Making the most of their transitory world, halfway between day and night, halfway between school and home.
Coach smiles faintly as he walks past them with a new packet of cigarettes. He remembers this - the precious fleeting feeling of independence. He leans against the low brick wall of the For Sale house next to the store and turns his attention to his purchase.
He is currently in the third stage of quitting: buying cigarettes a few blocks away and smoking them on the spot. Smoke hanging around the house doesn't send a good message for a sports professional.
It's not the best neighbourhood. Times have been tough and houses are getting boarded up, even ransacked. Yet Coach doesn't mind. There are nicer places to sit and smoke, but most of them he’d gone to with her, and can never go to again.
He listens as the kids laugh and posture and provoke each other, reading the power dynamics with a coach’s trained ear.
Darkness falls, and now the little circle of yellow from the sodium lights belongs to older, tougher teenagers, a world you need street cred to step into. The tall one resting his back against the wall has already sent two kids hurrying into the darkness using nothing but a scowl. Finally, even the older boys shuffle off home.
One kid still lingers by the wall, nursing the very last breaths of a dead cigarette.
He’s dressed like the hoodlums, but he’s far too small to be out this late. Too small even to be in high school yet. Dirty blonde hair, sullen expression, pierced eyebrow. That kid at the back of the room who always seems about to set fire to something, the kid even the teachers are secretly afraid of.
Coach has a couple like that on his team. They're some of his best players.
The kid looks ill at ease as the last of the older teens leave. He clearly isn't with them. He isn't with anyone. He glances around, as though wanting to draw the last remnants of company from the evening the way he’d drawn the last gasp from his cigarette.
His eye falls on Coach, who raises his own stub casually by way of greeting.
"You ok there?"
The kid just stares, wary, suspicious.
Coach waves his cigarette to indicate the deepening night.
"Bit late," he observes conversationally. "You need to call someone maybe, get picked up?" He holds up his phone in invitation.
The kid stares at him as though memorising every detail. The buzzcut hair, the tribal tattoos, the lounging posture. Those thunderous brows and impatient jaw.
Eyes that had seen many boys going through many different hells, and had never looked away.
Eventually the kid says: "I don’t want to go home."
Coach doesn't want to believe the worst but the flat, dead tone in the kid's voice tells him he probably should.
"That’s ok. I don’t mind company."
He adds, by way of explaining his presence here so late: "My wife doesn’t like me smoking."
It’ll do as an explanation, and it’s technically true. She’d never liked it.
The kid's as skittish as a wild animal, no way he’s coming close, but he clearly doesn’t want to be alone. It’s not too surprising, this isn’t the safest neighbourhood.
The boy’s gaze rests on the nearly-full cigarette packet.
Coach doesn't try to move closer. He tosses the kid the packet, then the lighter.
The boy takes a cigarette and lights up. His fingers hover longingly over a second one for the road, but he leaves it and tosses them back.
Coach explains he's a coach for a local high school team, as if this isn't written all over him, and rambles on comfortably about his sport and his kids.
The boy doesn’t lose his guarded, watchful expression, and he doesn’t speak. But he doesn’t leave, either.
Eventually - reluctantly - he turns to go. Maybe he knows it will be worse if he goes awol. Maybe he feels he’s stayed out past the danger period.
Coach watches him walk away.
The kid only makes it few blocks before some wannabe gangsters start to hassle him, poking him, laughing.
His limbs tense, and not only from fear. Despite being half the size of the older boys he welcomes the idea of violence.
"Enough."
Not a loud voice, but it has command in it. The kid doesn’t recognise the easy-going coach at first. There is nothing easy-going about his stance or his expression.
The toughs forget about the kid and square up to the newcomer.
"You want some, asshole?"
One of them holds up a lead pipe and swings it meaningfully.
Coach, unmoved, pulls out a gun. He angles it above their heads as a warning, but this scans as knowledge rather than reluctance. It’s the action of a man who knows not to aim a gun at a person’s face unless he’s prepared for the worst to happen.
The attacker drops the piece of pipe and puts his hands up in a vaguely placating gesture.
"Whatever, pops."
They step back, smiling sarcastically like they’re doing him a favour. Coach doesn’t move until they’re well and truly down the street.
He holsters the gun. It’s then he realises the kid is nowhere in sight.
Neither is the lead pipe.
The blow comes from behind - blackness falling before the pain can be properly felt.
When Coach finally wakes in an agonised fog the kid has gone, and he’s stolen the gun.

The Hellfire Exotic Club Part 11
Just two more chapters to go. The tension is ramping up and you're gonna want to hold on to your seats. This is the penultimate chapter before everything is revealed. And hooboy is it going to be great fun.
In this we find out who the cleaner was and he gives Eddie the final clue he needs to stop his troubles once and for all.
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 Part 6 Part 7 Part 8 Part 9 Part 10
~
Eddie enjoyed watching the cleaning crew. They were like bees in a hive, not bumping up against each other or trying to do the same tasks. Cleaning up after some days was hell, like Tuesdays and Saturdays and he always made sure to pay extra on those days.
That said, he really didn’t know any of them. The only familiar faces were the foremen. Eddie has asked the head forman about it once and was told that cleaning Hellfire was such a cushy job that he rotated teams so that everyone got a chance at it.
So imagine his surprise when one of the cleaners stopped Steve on his way out of the dressing room for a short chat.
It looked a little heated, if Eddie was being honest and was about to step in when Steve broke away from the conversation and drifted his direction.
Eddie cocked his head toward the cleaner. “Who was that?”
“An old friend of mine,” Steve said with a shrug. “I didn’t realize he had fallen on such hard times. Apparently his mom broke her hip and hasn’t been able to work for the last year.”
“That’s rough,” Eddie said, and waved his arm for Steve to go first. “I don’t know how much the cleaners make, but maybe if he puts in an application we can find him something to do here. Hell, he could work in the kitchen if Monty liked him well enough.”
His chef was a thin, wiry looking fellow, but he knew how to make the best club food anyone had ever tasted. He was also particular about who worked with him. But Monty could always use an extra hand or two and it would never hurt to try.
“I’ll let him know the next time I see him,” Steve said with a fond smile. “He’s also got a little brother in college, maybe have him apply too. Couldn’t hurt. What’s the least that’s going to happen, you say no? They won’t be any worse off for applying.”
“Yeah,” Eddie agreed. He didn’t think that he would hire either of them if he was honest, but like Steve said, they wouldn’t be worse off for it. “So how was Creepy McCreepy?”
Steve bumped Eddie with his hip. “Henry Creel was fine. He’s just passing through, by the way, Mr. Worry Wort. I think he has bigger fish to fry then some high end exotic dancing club. Not that this place isn’t worth scalping, but I think he’s aiming for higher?”
“World domination?” Eddie teased, leaning into Steve space.
He laughed and nudged him away with his elbow. “Yeah, probably.”
~
Eddie ended up meeting with Steve’s friend because the guy needed consistent money coming in and while cleaning job paid okay, it really didn’t have many regular clients other than the club. Mostly they cleaned up after major sporting events, political conventions, stuff like that. And with their boss Murray always rotating the crew who cleaned the club, some weeks were good, others not so much.
Eddie had to admit that guy cleaned up really good. With his hair out of his face and wearing nice clothes, he wasn’t bad to look at.
“Jonathan Byers?” he said, rising to greet him from a table he had sectioned off for the interview.
“Yeah,” he said, shaking Eddie’s hand. “Thanks for agreeing to see me.”
Eddie smiled. “No problem. I’m sorry to hear about your mom.”
“Thank you.”
Eddie pulled out three pages and spread them out in front of Jonathan. “There are three positions open right now, let’s see if you fit any one of them.”
He pointed to the first one. “This is for the busser position. Basically you go around after people have left to take away plates and glasses as well as pick up any tips. You’ll get a small portion of the tips but mostly it’s a flat rate of $15 an hour.”
Jonathan nodded.
“This one is for a cook’s assistant,” Eddie said tapping on the second one. “Often called a prep chef in bigger kitchens. Basically you’ll prepare everything for the chef and put it in the fridge for him to grab as he goes. You’ll get here at 4pm and leave at 8pm when the club opens. Pay is $22 an hour because it’s only four hours a day.”
Again Jonathan nodded. “That makes sense.”
“And finally the waiter position,” Eddie said. “This one in the highest paid, but also the most demanding. You’ll only have two days off a week and you’ll work from 8pm-2am. Base pay is $15 an hour, but you get a set amount of tips every night. Usually it’s percentage, but if it’s a rough night, you’ll see a base pay of $200 in tips for the night. You aren’t expected to pimp for tips as it were, as you aren’t the main attraction. You’ll be invisible for most of the time and some will even get mad at you for blocking their view of the show.”
“Wow,” Jonathan said. “That’s really fucking generous.”
“I try to be,” Eddie said cocking his head to side, “because living in this hellscape we call American Capitalism is hard enough without having to worry about not having enough money for shit.”
“Can I take these with me and then send over my resume for the position I’m most interested in applying for?” Jonathan asked, placing his hand over the a couple of the pages.
“Sure thing,” Eddie said. “I have copies on my computer. I’ll give you to the end of the week, otherwise I’m going to have to start looking elsewhere.” He stood up and Jonathan did the same.
“That’s fair,” Jonathan said, holding up the pages. “Thanks for this. Because you gave me a chance, even if I don’t end up working here.”
They shook hands.
“Let me walk you to your car,” Eddie said, waving his arm for Jonathan to go first.
He huffed out a laugh. “I don’t have a car right now, my girlfriend is coming to pick me.”
“Then I’ll wait with you,” Eddie offered.
Jonathan considered it a moment and then shrugged. “Sure, man. Whatever.”
They walked out to the curb and chatted about Jonathan’s family and how his mom was doing. “My brother is going to be famous one day,” Jonathan said with pride. “He is such an amazing painter, his work should be hung galleries.”
“Yeah?” Eddie said with a smile. He knew that tone of voice. It was the same tone Wayne got when he talked about him. “So what did baby Jonathan Byers want to be when he grew up?”
“This is going to sound so weird,” Jonathan said with a smirk, “but a bug photographer. Not wild life in general. Bugs. Creepy crawlies. Insects and spiders. I loved that shit as a kid. I don’t know how many times I freaked out my mom by bringing in a new bug to take pictures of and then release back into the wild.”
“Young Eddie would have loved you,” he said softly. “I liked bugs and critters you aren’t supposed to go anywhere near. Raccoons, possums, squirrels. Baby Eddie loved them all. My mom,” he wagged his hand back and forth, “not so much.”
“There she is now,” Jonathan said jutting his chin at the red hatchback pulling into the parking lot.
Eddie pursed his lips and resolved not to say a damn word until she did.
And oh boy did she ever. She got out of the car and immediately started yelling at Jonathan.
“What on earth are you doing here?” she cried. “I thought you had an interview.”
Eddie tilted his head to side. “Not an interview yet, more like a fact finding mission. But I like him.” He grinned at her.
“I forbid you from working here!” she shrieked. “This is a den of sin! I have vowed to take it down.”
“Nancy,” Jonathan said warningly. “We’ve had this discussion. If I didn’t work at every place you found morally objectionable, I wouldn’t be able to work at all. I just need something stable until Will graduates and Mom can move around on her own again.”
“When you told me that Steve was working in this hive of iniquity ,” Nancy growled, “I made it my responsibility to shut it down once and for all. To save Steve, to save you from having to sweep the vile filth from its floors.”
“What?!” Jonathan cried. “I didn’t tell you Steve was working here to have you go on one of your crusades. I told you because Steve was a good friend when both of you were dancing ballet together.”
“It’s a sin!” she cried one more time.
“So is fornication,” Jonathan huffed. “And breaking and entering and a shit ton of other things you do that are supposedly okay as long as you do them.”
Nancy folded her arms and stomped her foot. “That’s not the same and you know it. They have actual fucking nights dedicated to a specific deadly sin. I may have broken a few laws in my time, but I would never stoop the depths of depravity that his club sinks to!”
“You continue with this vendetta,” Jonathan warned, “and I swear to God, we’re through. There is nothing wrong with what they do. So what if people see them naked. Don’t go see it. Your rights stop at their personhood. You can only dictate what you do and not anyone else.”
He turned to Eddie. “Can you take me home? I don’t think I want to be in the same car as her.”
“Sure thing, man,” he replied, thumbing behind him. “Just let me lock up and I’ll be right out.”
When he came back Nancy had gone and Jonathan looked like a kicked puppy.
“You ready to go?”
Jonathan nodded and without a word followed him to his car. After get the address and putting it into the GPS, Eddie said, “I’m sorry about how she acted. Has she done this sort of thing before?”
“When I first graduated high school I got a job at a photography studio,” he muttered. “I took pictures of babies and toddlers. I had this cute little pink rabbit that never failed to get a smile.” He cleared his throat. “She found out that in addition to family portraits, bridal and wedding photos, they also did boudoir photo shoots.”
“Oh no,” Eddie moaned, completely seeing where this was going.
“Yeah,” Jonathan said with a sniffle. “She got the place shut down when she found out that some official’s daughter got them for the guy she was sleeping with, who was not her fiancé.”
Eddie frowned. That sounded too familiar.
“Anyway,” Jonathan continued, “this bitch got the whole place shut down and suddenly I was without a job. If I ever find her, I think I’d like to strangle her with my bare hands.”
“Her named wouldn’t be Heather Holloway, would it? Mayor Kirk Holloway’s daughter?” Eddie asked running his tongue over his upper lip slowly.
Jonathan snapped his fingers. “Yeah, that’s the snake in the grass.”
Eddie pulled off to the side of the road and closed his eyes. “It’s a fucking scam. Holy shit! It’s a fucking scam.”
“What is?” Jonathan asked.
Eddie turned around. “I just figured the whole thing out. All of it. The attacks against Steve, Billy getting caught with his hands up the wrong skirt, Jason fucking Carver. I’ve got to give it to your girl, she is one smart manipulative bitch. But I’m smarter.”
