✨ Not rendered vs. Rendered Art! ✨

One of my friends asked me, what's rendering? Since we're both in the art sphere, I made these two pictures to show what rendering is :)

In digital art, and in traditional art, "rendering" means "refining" something. You draw over things, blend things, correct things, introduce new shapes/colors to correct something, smooth stuff, and go deep into detail, all to make your piece look 3D, realistic, or simply better 😂

( Some artists prefer not to render! Depending on the style, it can be completely unnecessary :3 )

Rendering in illustration is often overlooked, especially if you didn't see the drawing beforehand. The initial stage of a drawing is rough & basic. You can see my lines, the shapes I was using, and the colors are not quite right. Many speedpaints may also not start redering until they have a value drawing, with varying grey unrefined shapes.

During rendering (one of the most lengthy art processes out there) you can smooth things, erase lines, correct shadows, correct lights, adjust colors, etc. The options are limitless, but basically, you're trying to get your bare-bones drawing to look finalized while correcting mistakes. My parrot looks more 3D and smooth because I rendered it (slightly). It's mostly line-less, adjusted, and shaped slightly different in some places. To do this, I had to go over every piece of the drawing ^^;

( Honorable mention for 3D animators: "rendering" is the stage of exporting the finished animation with models, added effects, calculated light + shadows into a final .mp4 file by the program. It can take hours! 🥰 the output is usually very polished tho, so... it's worth it? )

A viszonzatlan szerelem.

APOLLÓN & DAPHNÉ ♡

A nappalt éj követett, az éj pedig akkor csak nem akart elmúlni. Éjjel megpihennek az állatok és a természet egésze. A halandók többsége is nyugovóra tér. Csak a Parnasszosz csúcsa közt az istenek között a legszebb, fürkészte sóhajtozva a lent lévő alvó világot buzgón a szerelmet keresve. Az igaz szerelmet, amely ennek az istennek a életeleme és legfőbb vágya volt. Hisz mi a tiszáltalan szerelem igazság nélkül? És mit ér az igazság tiszta szerelem nélkül!? De hol keresse? Hol találja? Hiszen apja Zeusz is folyton a szerelmet kereste… De a fény urának nem kell holmi egyszerűség, sem oly gyönyörűség, amelyet már kéz érintett, amelyen a múlt már megpihent. Amit a vágyak kiélveztek, és továbbálva elfeledtek.

A tiszta szűziesség és a szépség kellett ennek az istenségnek. Hisz ez az isten Apollón a tizenkét olümposzi isten egyike volt. De mind közül a legfényesebb és legtisztább lelkű. És ha egy lélek tiszta, és még isteni is annak nincs párja a világegyetemben. Ő a fény és a nap istene, állandó jelzője a "Phoibosz" azaz "ragyogó". Az arany bőrű, fényes szemű az aranyvérű isten. Az élet és a rend védelmezője. A nyájak és a pásztorok, íjászok, a gyógyítás, az ékesszólás és a művészet, legfőképpen a zene istene. Az igazság megtestesítője. Szerette és jutalmazta a jót. Bűntette a gonoszt. Szépsége ellenére a szerelemben nem mindíg talált szerencsére. Pirkadat után az isten végül Erósz kegyelméből (bosszújából) megpillantja szívének végzetét. Az első "Igaz" szerelmét, vágyai otthonát a gyönyörüséges Hegyi nimfát Daphnét. Daphné. - Péneiosz folyóisten leánya, az egyik legszebb nimfa.

Érósz nyíla megsebzi a fény urát szerelemfakasztó nyilával, és ezután az olthatatlan vágyat érez e nimfa iránt. Nincs hegy, se patak, se fenyő, se semmi amely elrejtené ezután előle e szépséget. Nincs mégegy nimfa amely elcsavarná a vágyát legyen az akár szebb, jobb, ügyesebb. Mert neki már ő a tökéletes és a legszebb. Az akiért hadba vonul ha kell, és kit isteni ajándékokkal halmozna el. Az az arc és az a szem, az a test számára felejthetetlen. És az a tekintet! Csak a legszebb fejtheti és értheti azt meg. A legszebb zene nem józaníthatta volna ki őt e szerelemből.

De Erósz Daphnét oly nyillal lövi meg amely megöli a szerelmet. Daphné tehát nem viszonozza Apollón szerelmét. Hiába a legszebb az istenek között, inkább meg akar halni, mint sem az isten szeretője legyen.

-️ A csillagok fényét is elhozom neked, jobban szeretlek mint igaz szívemet Daphném! - mondta Apolló… -️ Nem leszek a tiéd mert nem érzek irántad semmit, légy akár az istenek között a legfényesebb.

- Az üldöző szerelem lesz akkor a végzetem. Atyám kérem! Adjon nekem más külsőt! Könyörgöm.

- Rejtsen el… Hisz szeplőtlenségem az egyetlen erényem.

- E istent szeretni nekem túl nagy teher. Félek a szerelemtől mely oly erőszakos, és ami tőlem folyton követel. Nyugalmat, feloldozást, menedéket ettől lelnem kell.

- E gyönyörű férfiútól elbújnom muszály. Lelkemen nagy a teher, mely szépségem miatt reám átokként nehezedik. S nem hagy élni-se, bizony már lenni sem. Így élni nem lehet. Hiányozni fognak a fák és a hegyek. De nimfaként halok meg.

- Árva lélek ne hagyj el! Karomba fuss ne tőle messze el!

Mikor azonban nem tudott már kitérni, újra megkérte atyját adjon az neki más külsőt. Péneiosz teljesítette leánya kérését: Daphné testét kéreg borította be, kezei ágakká, hajszálai levelekké változtak. Így lett Daphné nimfából babérfa, melynek örökzöld levelei övezik első szerelme emlékére Apollón homlokát.

How would ptm jade react if Yuu told him about marine mushrooms?

I only know what wikipedia knows about marine mushrooms...unfortunately for yuu mind reading doesn't give them sudden infinite knowledge!

“You know, with as much as you...like mushrooms and stuff, I'm surprised you haven't mentioned anything about marine fungi.”

You felt a chill run down your spine and Jade's bi-colored eyes on you.

“Pardon?” Does my darling also love fungi? How could I have not known this?

You shifted in your seat, staring down at your notebook as you doodles between the margins. A small button mushroom that you'd absentmindedly drawn minded you of Jade.

And you just happened to be doing research with him for your group project in the library this day.

“Sorry, I just was thinking about it, and it's just surprising to me that you never had, like an aquarium type terrarium or something with them.”

You let out a nervous laugh, after all, it was just you two by yourselves. Riddle and Yev were busy with their dorms due to the Spelldrive Tournament, and your dorm still didn't technically qualify, since all your freshmen were officially in other dorms.

Such a wonderful laugh, I'd like to hear it more...

“Well, to my knowledge, they don't exist.” Jade leaned in, his eyes wide and full of excitement. “By chance, do such mushrooms exist in your world?”

Please tell me more! Tell me lies for all I care, so I may hear your voice...though you wouldn't lie about such things, would you?

You perked up. It was rare that you knew something Jade, or anyone at NRC, had no clue about. It probably wasn't intentional, but the way people would look at you when you had no clue about something make you feel dumb, even though you logically had no way of knowing even the most basic things of this world.

It was kinda nice to be the one to share knowledge with another person.

“Well, I don't know a lot, but they mostly exist in marine environments. I think a few hundred?” You leaned in closer, moving your notebook towards Jade as you started drawing again.

“I can't remember their names very well, but I've always been a more visual person anyways.” You drew a piece of driftwood, a snail, and a rock covered in lichen.

“This one grows in mangroves, usually on the places. But this one grows around the shell of a snail, who eats it. And sometimes lichen will grow with fungi, but I don't know a whole lot about them.”

You paused, pursing your lips in disappointment.

“Sorry, I don't know enough to tell you about them, I know how much you...”

Your words trailed off as you looked back up at Jade, who was resting his check against his palm. He was staring at you with faint smile, and soft, half lidded eyes and pink cheeks.

So beautiful...

Cheeks and chest going hot, you stared back, opening and closing your mouth as you tried to figure out how to respond.

“Uh, Jade, you're, uh, staring...”

Jade stiffened, straightening up and covering his mouth in embarrassment.

“My apologies. I was just....enraptured by your descriptions.” And you. “I don't mind that you aren't familiar, but I would like to heard more from you about marine fungi. Perhaps you can tell me all about your world's plant life? It never occurred to me that your world would evolve differently, but saying that now, it seems obvious.”

He smiled at you again, his teeth showing a bit more as he excitedly leaned in.

“You struggle in musicology, yes? Perhaps in exchange for your knowledge, I can help you with practice?”

Please say yes!

You paused. Various suggestive scenarios that seem more apt for a risqué site or story flashed through Jade's mind in giddy anticipation.

You know better. You know what Jade's hoping for. You shouldn't string him along, you're going to get embarrassed. You're going to get uncomfortable, you're...

Another daydream, one of you two curled over a book, as you leaned into Jade's side while his arm pulled you closer, invaded your mind like a parasite in your brain. He had a tender smile as you laughed at something he said, your free hand reached up to cradle his cheek.

Maybe parasite is a harsh word. When the thoughts Jade had were so sweet and soft, it almost made you want to give in.

Almost.

“It's okay, I'm just a choir member, so there's not much for me to improve on.” You could hear your more logical voice sigh in the back of your mind. “But I'm happy to share...if you help me figure out if the mushrooms growing behind Ramshackle are edible.”

I'm weak…

Jade blinked, processing what you said.

Really? “Really?” Even Jade seemed like he was anticipating your rejection.

“Yeah, why not.” You shrugged, Jade's internal excitement flooding into your subconscious and influencing your own emotions. “Means less money to spend on food, and I'm sure you know plenty of yummy recipes we can use if they do end up good!”

Jade rarely smiled, at least not genuine, bare-teethed smiles. Despite the sharpness of them, you weren't put off by them, or him, at all.

“I would be honored.”

12. the unpopular character that you actually like and why more people should like them

Dawn Summers! She gets a lot of flak for being a teenage girl reacting to events like a teenage girl would lol. She's a great character that really enhances all of the relationships in btvs, and she provides Buffy with a genuine familial connection outside of her mother.

Dawn has a lot of thematic importance in representing both what Buffy is willing to sacrifice the world for and in representing the general population of people Buffy has to sacrifice herself for. Dawn is a great example of many aspects of Buffy's life, and outside of that she's genuinely fun and complex. She also gives the perfect amount of outside perspective to the slayer life that we start to lose sight of as time passes.

Also, it is a ballsy move adding a new character three quarters of the way through your show - especially when she comes off as pretty annoying yet somehow actually works. Like I hate Joss Whedon, but Dawn was a fascinating writing maneuver.
