Prev anon is so funny too since also...not all discussion of media is tagged? Maybe it's just me but when things are big and popular I hear about them constantly in discord servers and from irl friends, too. Your single critical post was tagged so it can easily be blocked, but a popular piece of media can be difficult to drown out!! It's ok to be a harmless hater with all that!!!

It's also just like...I understand curating your online experience is important and healthy. But the way the ask was phrased it sounded like they thought I should avoid seeing/doing ANYTHING that would foster a single negative emotion (like hate) in me. Which is kinda weird, and it's sooooo drenched in purity culture. It reminds me of the whole "don't do anything that would even tempt you to commit or think of sin" mentality from the Mormons in my youth, when tbh it's just not that serious.

And sometimes, you really do just gotta be a harmless little hater!!

Drew this thingy quickly because my friend and I have been talking about Ambrosius and Gloreth and thingies and it got me thinking sjdk

Under the cut some more thoughts :]

-First, this thing is definitely kinda based on walrusthewriter's fic from the Nimona big bang bc I remember it from time-to-time pipipi I just love it and how it shows Ambrosius' thoughts about Gloreth and his relationship with the Director and waaa

-Anyways, so I told my friend how, since he didn't grow being himself and stuff, because he was Gloreth's Descendant first and foremost during his life - that his and Ballister's kid would definitely not go through the same thing. So, Gloreth is, yeah, who she is and whatever, but she's just your grandma too.

>By the way, in a Nimona discord server I am in, someone said something about 'Ambrosius having no autonomy' and I realized that that is what I had wanted to say with my friend sjfdksf only that I said it with several more words bc I couldn't remember the actual word for it 😭 so yeah, that thing-

Like, yeah, she was goofy actually, her hair always got tangled on stuff because it was too long, and yeah she almost died from an allergy- and the way that Gloreth -perfect and glorious and stuff- wasn't perfect, but just a human like Ambrosius himself, my friend said that it'd actually heal several traumas for him and I was like, you're absolutely right.

-Uuh, back to the comic, I thought about idk, Ambrosius getting overwhelmed by Gloreth-related stuff when they're in an outing as the Institute, and he hides and stuff, but the Director finds him and she guilt-trips him and he ends up feeling even worse but plays it cool after because she's right. He's a descendant of Gloreth! What a gift, woo! (he's so close to crying again)

>Also him feeling guilty about hating being a Gloreth's descendant in that sense, because his best friend has to work hard to show that he's just as good -if not better- than any of them, because he wasn't born into a noble family, and then there's Ambrosius, inwardly complaining about belonging to literally the best possible noble family anyone in the kingdom could belong to.

-Anyways it's all rambling sorry sjfks but that's it I think, I just love Ambrosius, he gives me lots to think about, my beloved

Do you think that the Nimona fandom is dead?

The fandom for my past hyperfixation was comprised of like...100 people on Tumblr.

The fandom for my current hyperfixation is just me and a dozen people on a Discord server. And another dozen people in a different Discord server. Two dozen people. Yeah.

My definition of "dead" is hella skewed, mate. Nimona is still flourishing by my standards.

hello there! I'm signed up for the big bang as a writer, and I have started writing my fic, but I'm running into a problem I like to call "burn out". I've been overwhelmed with both university and personal things, and i'm afraid that I won't be able to complete my fic on time, even if it IS still early in the event.

Would I be allowed to find a co-writer? Are there any other solutions, or tips the mods might have for me?

This is my first big bang so I'd appreciate any info you can provide!!

Hi there! So, no we can't do co-writers, but we do highly encourage you to join the discord! We have an event category for participants and if you're a writer, then you should definitely get in touch with the other writers in the writers-general channel when joining so that you can get some help and help span some stuff out for your fic.

I also, as a fellow writer, love to use NaNoWriMo for help pacing myself for the fic. We also have writing resources pinned in the server for folks as well, whether you are part of the event or not.
