A made another komebukuro! This is similar to the last one I made - except I did ninepatch sides and this time I added a pocket :D All hand sewn again, and once again made the cords using finger braiding.

At a country inn in California, quilts, lavendar walls, and lace curtains promise guests thoroughly romantic surroundings. A white Marseilles spread is topped with an Album quilt and a Nine-Patch quilt in soothing pastels. The lavendar pillowcase was created by folding an embriodered dresser scarf in half and stitching it to a cloth backing. Hearts of dried rosebuds dot the wall.

A colcha é de retalhos. O bloco escolhido é o "ninepatch desappear" (nove quadrados unidos e desconstruídos), portanto tem muita informação de tecidos, do jeito que sempre quis 😻 e por isso escolhi um design simples e leve para o quilting (acolchoamento). I committed a craft! I murdered two pairs of hand me down boxershorts in the process. Both myself and the original owner clearly only ever tried on the boxers and then noticed they're totally not fit for purpose... Really cute fabric though, so they ended in my stash.

Inspired by your quilting projects and frustrated because once again, I couldn't find a potholder in the house (ADHD and kids, I'm guessing a couple are in the laundry and the rest are either in the play kitchen or a doombox) I got out my sewing machine and a rotary cutter and got to work. I used the disappearing ninepatch technique to make four quilt blocks and made myself the cutest potholders ever.

They do have some imperfections, but I'm superbly happy with how well they turned out, this being one of my first patchwork/quilting projects.

Don't you just love those bats and kitties? I think I am in love.

Finished the next one. I had to round up a lot in my yardage because I could only get the fabric in 1 or 2 yard packages.
