So Bastard!! was...interesting.

It’s apparently one of the best selling manga of all time, which makes it even more surprising to me that I’ve never heard of it haha.

I actually enjoyed the first few episodes because dear god this show is pure, undiluted Berserk-esque grimdark aesthetic injected with a huge dose of Ouran Highschool Host Club level whimsy. The contrast is so absurd that I spent most of the time giggling because it clearly KNOWS how silly it is and is just REVELING in it. 

Really, I only started to kind of tune out towards the end, because I think it started to take itself a little too seriously to a degree, and I was like NO STAY SILLY, THE SILLY IS HILARIOUS.

Like Dark Schneider supposedly being this big, terrifying, evil dark wizard being intimidated and bossed around by Yoko was FUNNY. The dynamic between them made me laugh every time, so them barely interacting in the latter half kinda bummed me out a little. 

And don’t get me started on the weird DS/AN thing that was just plain weird. Really, all the women falling for DS in general was a bit weird. I mean, if they just wanted to sleep with him for the hell of it, more power to them, hell that probably would have been more fun to see his never ending quest to get his own harem falling flat every time because the ladies just plain aren’t interested in more than a one time thing, burst his bubble a bit haha.

The animation is pretty. The OP is a banger. The character design is very pretty. If they do another season I hope they focus on the sillyness, that’s the most enjoyable part. 

Also, there is a criminal lack of Ninja Master Gara appreciation going on, Dark Schneider who, I want more of the ninja man-

Kai Harn is my favorite character from Bastard!!, but now watching through the Anime I've really come to like Gara a lot too. Somehow he really made a bigger impression here then in the manga for me.

I mean I always found him to be the hottest dude in the series, but again, even more so here. Awooga.

Ho il cervello troppo pieno di cose per poterle scrivere in maniera ordinata, mettendole in fila come tanti soldatini di plastica. Avevo anche io, come tanti bimbi della mia età, dei soldatini di plastica, ma non mi divertivano un granché. Nell'epoca in cui sono stato bambino c'è stata una esplosione di giocattoli che faceva sembrare i soldatini di plastica un passatempo per sfigati: tutti a gara a farli più belli, con più funzioni, con più accessori. La mia vera droga sarebbero stati i Masters of the Universe prima, i Cavalieri dello Zodiaco dopo. Il primo che ricevetti in regalo (non posso davvero dire "comprai" anche se lo scelsi personalmente, in un negozio che vendeva giocattoli misti a zaini, materassini da pare e altre cose che non c'entravano un cazzo) fu Crystal, il cigno. Che non sapevo si chiamasse così: la scatola era tutta in giapponese e l'unica cosa che vi si poteva leggere sopra era questa scritta, "Cygnus". Ma era fighissimo: aveva un sacco di punti di giunzione, e l'armatura (smontabile! con un pezzo per ogni arto!) era in gran parte di metallo. Solo dopo sarebbero arrivati i cartoni animati (e non sulla cazzo di mediaset, ma sulle benemerite reti locali) e solo dopo sarebbero arrivati quelli di Giochi Preziosi a commercializzarli persino alla Standa (se non sapete cos'è la Standa non posso farci niente, magari ci farò un post più avanti). Solo dopo avrei avuto anche Artax, Sirio (il mio preferito) e tutti gli altri. Ora non mi ricordo più quali. Avevo un sacco di "pupazzetti". Spariti tutti: con tanti nipoti da una parte e dall'altra e cugini, parenti di terzo grado... a un certo punto la roba si distribuisce dove capita. Ma finché li ho avuti, ci giocavo. Creavo storie. Parlavo da solo (spesso venivo preso allegramente in giro dalla famiglia per questo, ma sticazzi) e inventavo le peggio trame su quei pezzetti di plastica. Per un periodo l'ho fatto anche assieme ad un compagno di classe, ed erano dei pomeriggi bellissimi. Vedevamo i cartoni assieme e poi andavamo a fare le nostre storie. Avevo altri pupazzetti. Le Tartarughe Ninja! Mica quelle deformi di Nickelodeon, quelle cicciose e muscolose. Avevo un pupazzetto di B.A. Barracus di A-Team. Avevo UN SACCO di Masters of the Universe, e poi a un certo punto mi ricordo di intere estati passate a ripescarli dal cesto che c'era in terrazzo, chi senza testa e chi senza braccia o gambe, e rimetterli insieme mischiandone i pezzi a colpi di scotch. E poi è finita l'infanzia. Non ho capito bene quando. E oggi, non riesco a mettere in fila i pensieri o a riarrangiarli come se fossero quei pupazzetti; riesco solo a tirare avanti questo cranio pieno di cose dove ci sono ancora due parti di me che fanno a pugni tra loro, una che vorrebbe vivere da eremita e l'altra che muore non appena si trova senza un minimo d'attenzione da parte delle altre persone. Ed io li affogherei entrambi.

A fantasy manga series written and drawn by Kazushi Hagiwara, it is known for being quite a bit more adult in nature.

Synopsis-It follows the story of Dark Schneider a 400-years old dark wizard who is resurrected to stop evil forces from reviving the God of Destruction, Anthrasax.

Characters:

Dark Schneider- The most powerful dark wizard who amassed an army known as the Dark Rebel Army. He was sealed away by Lars Ul Metallicana prior, but his seal was broken during a campaign to resurrect Anthrasax.

Arshes Nei- A half-dark elf known as the "Thunder Empress", she was once a war orphan who was picked up by Schneider. She was like a daughter and a lover to him, but now must oppose him as one of the current Four Divine Kings of the Dark Rebel Army

Kall-su- One of the Four Divine Kings of the Dark Rebel Armies who used to be Dark Schneider’s right-hand man and best friend. His powers are equal to that of his former pal. In order to create a “Sorcerer’s Kingdom,” a utopia ruled by magic, he invades the four kingdoms to resurrect Anthrasax, the God of Destruction.

Ninja Master Gara- A free spirited man he is one of the Four Divine Kings of the Dark Rebel Armies. Gara is a ninja master who wields the Murasame Blade and leads an army of thousands of dark ninjas. He becomes an ally to Schneider once again early on.

The first anime i watched was the anime called bastard.

There was this part that had a slime monster. And ninja master gara. Used it on yoko. The main lady. To get information about dark Schneider the main hero. But she wouldn't comply.
