For the Katherine/Stefan/Elena "Toxic" Series, I start off the first part with some of the songs I listened to while writing:

I was going to keep putting different song lyrics at the beginning of each part but no one asked about the music, haha.

For Stelena, I would make companion videos to fics, which would also include the kind of songs that would go with the fic.

So, for "Sacrifice" it would be "When The Party's Over"

for "The Problem Is..." it would be "Spare Change"

but tbh, I think this video is probably my magnum opus of stelena companion vids. It wasn't meant to be a companion vid but I think the song/lyrics of nitesky capture the essence of every single SE fic I write and what I try to express about their relationship especially from 2:04 on because the lyrics are:

For my Jonsa fics:

For my Bonkai fics, there would be certain requests, like for "Taking Over The Night" a request was that I listen to and try to capture the essence of that song in the fic:

RADIOACTIVE — imagine dragons ▪︎ makes me think of tk in season one. i listen and think about him making the decision, after owen saved him, to try and really work out his issues. to really dig deep and try to keep his addiction once and for all. he's "waking up", "shaping up". "welcome to the new age(of tk)"

SEX & STARDUST — zz ward ▪︎ in my opinion, they couldn't have used a better song for their first on-screen hookup. it's sexy but not overbearing. i also love "i'm way too good at bad decisions, and he's the worst one." they both thought that night would be a good idea in the moment, neither of them expecting everything that happened next. very fitting.

NITESKY — robot koch, john lamonica ▪︎ this song makes me think of how badly tk was struggling with his sobriety. it reminds me of how carlos allowed him to be happy again.

LOVE AGAIN — dua lipa ▪︎ the lyrics of this song are just perfect for expressing how tk may have felt like he'd be heartbroken forever after alex. but of course, as he said himself in 2x08, he found carlos, "who taught me that it is okay to open up my heart again."

I will be continuing to add to this list, for a long time, hopefully. Again, feel free to suggest songs and your reasons why you think they work for Tarlos.
