summary: five gets grumpy when his girlfriend gives him the silent treatment for being a jerk... shocker.

“Could you stop for one damn second and relax?!” You yelled at your boyfriend, already stressed out by the way he had been almost carving a hole through the floor of the living room with all his pacing.

“Relax?!” Five yelled, turning to glare at you, “Do you even realize how stupid you sound?! How could I relax- I lost my last lead on that fucking eye!”

“Come again?” You raised a brow, crossing your arms as you watched him curiously. Did he just call you stupid indirectly?

Your nerves were tugging at the last threads of patience you had left within you- they had been doing that for a few days. You knew that life wouldn’t be quiet when you decided to give a relationship with your partner a shot, but you never expected things to get so messy.

Not only you followed his grumpy butt all the way to 2019 to stop an apocalypse- which you couldn’t care less about, now you had been stuck in your younger bodies because he miscalculated something before traveling in time. On top of all that, he had been a jerk to his siblings- which you grew quite fond of and viceversa, he also started being an asshole to you, all because he couldn’t find a way to stop the apocalypse.

“Five Hargreeves, did you just call me stupid?” You asked, seeing that he was frozen in place, going back over his words in his mind.

“Not exactly.” He knitted his brows in confusion, before realizing the irritated look on your face, “I don’t have time for this, Y/N.”

“You think I had any time these past two years putting up with your shit?” You retorted, making him raise his brows in surprise by your sudden burst, “Screw you, asshole.”

“Now that was rude!” He yelled after you, once you started walking out of the room, completely ignoring him, “Y/N!”

You had been with the Commission for over four decades, you completely trusted its choices, since you never were given a reason not to. Well, that was until the Handler recruited Five Hargreeves. He was about four-five years older than you, but nonetheless still had the impeccable skills of an assassin- just what the organization wanted and needed.

You, being one of the Handler’s most trusted agents, she assigned him under your wing in the beginning until he’d get adjusted. So, he became your partner, it didn’t take long until he became your partner in the real sense of the word.

Five was in love with you- stupidly in love with you. He loved your wit and your kindness, he loved that he could have intellectual conversations with you for hours on end, he loved the fact that he’d feel whole again with just one look at your face, your smile, your eyes.

But he was a prideful man, he knew that. If he was wrong- which he rarely was, he had no intention of apologizing. You knew how important stopping the apocalypse was to him, but... it pained you to see him almost lose his shit completely when he loses the last remaining lead.

For the next couple of hours, you completely avoided him at all costs until he’d get that stick out of his ass and apologize. 

And he’d better have a grand way of doing it.

You knew that it was not like him- he’d never apologize, and the fact that you were avoiding him was not making it any easier on him, but you were beyond pissed. Even if he may not have meant it, all you tried to do was help him relax for a moment, take a breather before that pretty head of his would explode. And in return? 

In return, Five fucking Hargreeves continues being an asshole- what a surprise.

“Jesus, where did all the caffeine in this house go?!” Five groaned, searching the cupboards in the kitchen, feeling grumpier than usual.

“I told you- dad didn’t like it.” Allison reminded him, as she and Luther sat at the table, watching him in confusion, “What’s got into you?”

“What are you talking about?” He asked, not done yet with his search- he wanted at least something that felt like coffee, “Come on- we don’t even have... coffee flavored fucking chocolate or some shit like that..?” He mumbled, shutting the cupboard with a loud smack.

“She means... you’re... grumpier... than usual...” Luther hesitantly explained, afraid that his little-older psychotic brother might have finally snapped.

“Mind your business, will ya?” Five asked with a fake smile, stomping out of the kitchen.

“I love Y/N, I swear I do... and oddly enough, Five too.” Allison spoke up, “But honestly, what was she thinking becoming his girlfriend?”

“I am just happy for her they’re not married.” Luther shrugged, resting his hand on his palm, as Diego walked into the kitchen;

“Is it just me or is Five a lesser ray of sunshine than usual?”

The following day, you treated Five with the same coldness as the prior day, which really drove him insane. Not only he spent the night in his bed alone, since you decided to bunk for the night in one of the empty rooms, but now you were still giving him the silent treatment.

Luckily, during breakfast, the Hargreeves siblings finally managed to understand what was going on.

“Hey, Diego, do you think we can pay Eudora a visit at the station after breakfast?” You asked the man, “I promised her the other day some files to help with an investigation she has on the side.”

“Sure thing.” Diego smiled, looking forward to seeing the detective again, even if he bickered with her from time to time.

“What files?” Five asked curiously.

“Vanya, can you please pass me the salt?” You ignored him, smiling at his sister.

Vanya raised a brow, unsure what to do, as the other siblings were piecing the puzzle together. Five raised a brow, as you avoided eye contact with him, waiting for the salt shaker which was, ironically, closer to him than Vanya.

“Here.” He said, reaching for it before his sister, handing it to you.

You looked at him with a smile, then at the salt shaker that was waiting on you to pick it from your boyfriend’s hand. Instead, you scoffed, getting up from your seat with your plate in your hands, suddenly losing your appetite.

“I am gonna go change.” You declared, placing your dish in the sink, “Diego, I’ll wait for you in the car.”

“Unbelievable....” Five muttered, throwing the salt shaker somewhere on the table, before abruptly getting up from his seat to pour himself a cup of freshly made coffee- Klaus made sure to stock up since Allison and Luther told him what had happened the other day.

“Why is Y/N giving you the cold shoulder?” Diego asked his brother, raising a brow.

“Leave me alone.” Five muttered, leaving the room even grumpier, with his hot cup of coffee in his hand to at least soothe him down a bit.

“Five!” Allison yelled after him, but he was already out of there, “Urgh, he’s such a child!”

After you and Diego had left the Hargreeves mansion, Five found it hard to focus on trying to get another lead on the prosthetic eye- he could not stop thinking about the fact that it almost had been twenty four hours since the woman he loved had chosen to deliberately ignore him, all because his stupid mouth could not help snapping at her.

What a moron he was, he knew that.

“Y/N told me what happened.” Allison told her brother, entering his room softly, watching as he laid on his bed on his back, “And woah- aren’t you an asshole?”

“What do you want, Allison?” He asked, rolling his eyes, staring up at his ceiling.

“Here’s a crazy idea... why don’t you apologize?” She suggested, crossing her arms.

“Have you... met me?” Five frowned, lifting his head to watch his sister in confusion.

“Look, you and Y/N both need to stop being children!” She said, “I know you may have teen bodies, but aren’t you both like over fifty? Honestly, Five...”

“Knowing I will regret this, what do you suggest, Allison?” Five asked with a sigh, watching as his sister smirked in response.

You and Diego didn’t really take long to finish your business at the police station. In about thirty minutes, you both were back on your way home, unaware of the big surprise that was waiting for you.

You entered the house, stretching your arms, already telling yourself you needed a drink, even if it was only noon. You figured a glass of some expensive bourbon would calm you down, so you made your way in the living room, as Diego went to his room in his own business.

Although, you couldn’t help but widen your eyes in surprise, as you stopped in your tracks once your look fell on Five, who was sitting at the bar with a Margarita in one hand, and a big bouquet of flowers rested in his lap.

“Five?” You frowned, stepping towards him confused.

Never in his life, would Five ever think he’d be so happy to hear his name on your lips. He softly smiled, realizing that Allison’s plan was working, as you finally spoke to him, even if it was one word.

“Y/N.” Five gulped, setting down his glass to jump off the stool, “These are for you...” He hesitantly said, stretching his hands towards you, as he held the big, colorful bouquet of all sorts of flowers towards you.

“I... Uh... what?” You frowned, taken aback by the gesture.

Five wasn’t necessarily the romantic type, so this was the first bouquet of flowers you ever received from him. You knew he loved you with all his heart and he was in love with you, that’s why you didn’t care about the romantic gestures he never did- but, right now, watching his cheeks turn into a slight shade of pink as he was biting on his bottom lip anxiously- your heart melted.

Allison had given him all sorts of advice on how to apologize to you with the help of Vanya, since they were both well aware of the fact that their brother was not capable of saying such words by himself. But right now, as you stood before him, Five had forgotten all that they taught him.

“I... I suck at this kind of stuff, I gotta be honest.” Five sighed, stepping closer to you, still with the bouquet in his hands, as you were still hesitant, “I... I shouldn’t have snapped at you, Y/N, I know. You didn’t deserve to be told that, even if I didn’t mean it at all. I swear, I was only mad and I never meant to take it out on you.”

“Oh my God.” You covered your mouth in shock, “Are you... actually... trying to apologize to me?”

“Sort of... yeah...” Five sighed, scratching the back of his neck awkwardly, “Look, what I am trying to say... What I am trying to say is that I appreciate your love, and having your support with me, and I know you care about my well-being.”

“Keep going...” You smirked, stepping closer to him, “Come on... they are three simple words.”

“Right...” Five sighed, running a hand through his hair, “Look, Y/N? I... I am...”

You didn’t even let him finish, as you softly took the bouquet out of his hand not to squish it, wrapping your arms around his neck to pull him into a tight hug. You knew how hard it must have been so far for a know-it-all like Five to say that, so you didn’t want to push him further. To you it was enough that he at least felt sorry for bursting like that.

“I love you.” Five sighed, wrapping his arms around your waist, “And I truly mean what I said earlier.”

“I love you too.” You smiled, not yet pulling away from the loving embrace, “And I know... I know...”

Five pulled away to smile down at you, “Thank you for being so understanding... and supportive.”

“I’d say it is my pleasure, but I’d be lying.” You teased him, bopping his nose with the free hand that was not wrapped around his neck still and holding the flowers.

“Hilarious.” Five sarcastically said, slowly leaning in, “I think I liked it better when you weren’t talking.”

“Really?” You scoffed, but before you could continue the playful banter, Five had already captured your lips into a soft kiss, finding a better way to shut you up.

Request: May I also ask for a rose x reader where its war/ futuristic AU? After a battle, rose is looking for y/n since she strayed off from the squad, but when they find her at the medical bay, she lost a limb (arm or leg your choice!) and rose can't help as she watches in sadness as she see's y/n waking up with a whole new limb. BUT! rose comforts her and later on y/n learns to get used to the arm and when the war is over, they settle down and have a family. Angst at first but fluffy at the end?

It had been about ten years since the war started. At first it started in Washington DC, attacks on the White House from foreign enemies. Slowly, every major city in the world was being showered with bombs and fire. Within years most of the population was wiped out, almost all of your family and friends included.

Now all you had was Roseanne and your four other friends. You and Roseanne met before the war started, the two of you were childhood neighbors.

Roseanne was quick on her feet and she could climb almost anything with ease. This making it easy for her to hide from enemies and signal for the squad to attack.

You were skilled with throwing knives and axes. In addition to this your impressive swordsman skills saved the two of you in many situations.

Then the two of you met Henry, being strong and multilingual, he was an asset. He joined to see if he could find his (now dead) lover’s little sister, Hyejoo. Henry promised that he’d find and protect her if he could.

Ryujin tagged along after she helped you three out of an enemy attack. She might be young but she can shoot any gun like a professional, her favorite being a sniper. Ryujin never misses.

Soojin mixed in a little while after, using her looks to get what she needed before slipping poison into foods or drinks, killing her victims.

Hyejoo was the last to join your squad. She was an expert with bombs and gassing in battle. Her strong arm made it easy to throw grenades and tear gas at enemies. Hyejoo lost her sense of sight a year into the war. She was gassed so severely she went blind. However this heightened her other senses, making it easy for her to sense danger through vibrations and sound.

The six of you, stuck together and almost never separated. There was the unsaid rule that you’d protect each other, but you also wouldn’t hesitate to kill each other if need be.

Half asleep you held a sleeping Roseanne in your arms, her breath ghosting your chest. “Guys get up I feel something” Hyejoo walked around the tent you all slept in, kicking your backs. Ryujin sat up “how many and how big are they?” Hyejoo shuffled her bare feet on the ground, running her hands along the hard Earth as well. “I can’t tell...there’s a few. Like ten men.”

You felt a pit in your stomach knowing who they were, and that they were looking for you. The six of you all stood up and quickly packed up camp before starting to get moving. Roseanne led the squad, Ryujin in the back ready to shoot anyone she found a threat.

The six of you walked for hours, stopping occasionally to refill your water canteens from nearby streams. Finally you all settled on a place to camp, an empty cave, with two entrances. A hidden one in the back and the one in the front.

“Ok lets get some sleep guys. Hyejoo if you feel anything wake us up ok?” Roseanne spoke as she unfolded a blanket. Hyejoo told her “I can’t see anything, the floor is sand, it’s too loose to pick up vibrations.” The six of you looked around debating if staying here overnight was a good idea.

However Soojin spoke up making the decision for you all. “Guys we’re kilometers away from any danger. Nobody will find us, let’s just get sleep and move out at dawn ok?” Ryujin chimed in, “yeah plus there’s a hidden entrance, if we need a quick escape we can go that way.” They all agreed while you could tell by the look on Hyejoo’s face she wasn’t sure.

You turned to Roseanne and said “I don’t think this is a good idea. The only one who can tell us if we’ll be in danger told us it’s not a good idea, and you still wanna stay? This is literally a death wish. I know they’re following us, and I’m trying not to die.” The lavender haired girl looked at you and said “we have no other options Y/N.”

Knowing this would probably work you stepped closer to her, placing a hand on her waist you said “Rosie...this isn’t a good idea.” Before she could respond Soojin cut in “absolutely not. This isn’t fair, whenever Y/N wants something she just gets all touchy with Roseanne and goes ‘Rosie’. And then Roseanne just does it. She’s using you Roseanne, open your eyes.”

The lavender haired girl looked at you and realized Soojin made a point. Whenever you wanted anything from her you did the exact same thing. The two of you both confessed long ago, but due to the state of the world you didn’t want to start a relationship. Especially if your lives were on the line every second you were in open space. Roseanne spoke to you harshly for the first time “if you dont want to stay. Then go. I’m done with you and your games.”

You told her “I’m not- Roseanne I love you. I love you so much and I just don’t want anything to happen to you.” Her features softened but she looked at Soojin who shook her head. “Just go Y/N” was the last thing she said to you.

Looking around you realized staying probably wasn’t a good idea. “Whatever. I’ll see you all around then.”

You slung your swords and bag over your shoulder. As you passed Ryujin you told her “protect Rosie. If I find Jisu and Yuna I’ll do the same.” She smiled at the mention of her little sister and her lover’s names. You both linked pinkies and kissed them, the way you two always sealed promises.

Henry side hugged you and ruffled your hair, he truly was like an older brother. Hyejoo threw herself into your arms. Usually she wasn’t affectionate so this took you by surprise. You told the young girl “i’ll miss you pretty girl, if I find Chaewon i’ll keep her around ok?” She held your face in her hands before nodding and pulling away.

You walked away without looking back at Roseanne. Your heart clenched knowing you might not see her again, but the enemy only wanted you, if you left she might be safe.

Weeks passed and you were captured by one of your own enemies. A boy named Felix and his nine other friends, the ones who Hyejoo sensed that night you left.

Felix held you captive, he’d beat you then care for your injuries. He tried to defend himself by saying he hated that he had to do this, but you needed to learn your lesson not to run from him. The boy tried to justify his actions by saying he loved you but you knew just had a strange obsession with you. The never ending cycle of this took a toll on you as well. Until you were rescued by some passerbyers, they snatched you up quickly. However, not quick enough because your right leg was severed by one of Felix’s men.

The strangers carried you to the nearest Medical Bay where a doctor completely amputated from just above the knee. You were there for months learning how to adapt to the metal prosthetic that you were given.

Over time you met people who came in and out, some you’ve known in the past and others not so much.

You saw Hyejoo’s girlfriend Chaewon, when she came in with a severed hand. She recognized you and decided to stay with you in the safety of the bay, hoping Hyejoo might come looking for you.

Ryujin’s little sister Yuna came in carrying a limp and bloodied girl one night. You realized it was Jisu, Ryujin’s lover. She’d suffered major blood loss but she was slowly coming back around.

You met a little girl Ivy, no more than five who had a striking resemblance to a woman you’ve seen in a locket Soojin wore. With time you learned she was the daughter of a woman named Shuhua. The child told you she was looking for a Seo Soojin, that her mother told her to find her and stay with her. You watched out for the child in hopes that one day Soojin would come along to collect her deceased girlfriend’s daughter.

More and more people came and went, the three younger girls however staying by your side in hopes that your squad would arrive. You simply didn’t have the heart to tell them that you’d left them months before.

Until one day you saw a familiar boy carrying a sleeping barefooted girl in his arms, Henry and Hyejoo. Behind them you saw the rest of your old squad walking towards the medical bay.

“HENRY!” You shouted and he locked eyes with you. He woke Hyejoo up and placed her on the ground as the two walked closer to you. The boy engulfed you in a hug and you two watched Hyejoo and Chaewon reunite for the first time in at least a year.

When the rest of your squad came they realized many of those they loved were in fact here.

Your eyes fell on Roseanne, she looked more beautiful than you remembered. Her eyes scanned the medical bay before her eyes locked with yours. You left go of Henry and limped over to her before falling into her arms.

Laughing softly you said “Sorry I’m still getting the hang of this thing...” She looked down at the metal prosthetic leg that was supporting you before looking back into your eyes.

Tears spilled from her eyes as she held you close in her embrace. You asked “Wha- I thought you hated me?” She sobbed into your shoulder and told you “I made a mistake. I’m sorry I love you so much. I thought you were dead or- I’m so sorry Y/N.”

Holding your weight on her you wiped away her tears and kissed her softly. “It’s ok Rosie, I love you too. Everything is okay now.”

FIVE YEARS LATER

The war was slowly coming to an end and you and Roseanne moved to the countryside. Although there were still bombs being dropped and bullets flying, the countryside was safer than the city.

Your squad moved here with you however you all were very spaced out.

Ryujin moved with her now fiancé, Jisu not too far from you and Roseanne. Ryujin’s little sister Yuna stayed with them as Ryujin insisted she was still too young to live alone.

Soojin was now a mother to Ivy, the young child now around ten years old. The two of them lived on the coast side of the country, furthest away from you and the rest of your friends.

Henry still refuses to leave Hyejoo’s sode, never breaking the promise to his gone boyfriend. He lives with Hyejoo and her girlfriend Chaewon. The three of them only a few minutes walk from your and Roseanne’s place.

You watched from your kitchen window as Roseanne and your two daughters picked flowers in the field behind your house. Holding your sleeping son in your arms you kissed his forehead, looking at how closely he resembled you.

After all this time you were finally married to the love of your life, with three beautiful children.

Do they fight often? If so, what is their dynamic like?

Sort of, they’ve actually calmed down since first knowing each other. It use to be that they hated each other because ‘fuck you, I want to leave this stupid ass valley why do I need to fetch quest when my survival is maxed’, and ‘goddamnit you made me care about this kid that youre dragging into war I cant live with myself if he dies due to your little game of exterminate the raider tribe’.

I...am indecisive about how Emilia ends Honest Hearts, but even in the worse case scenario they do become at most tolerant of each other. Still, their arguments is mostly Emi poking and prodding for a reaction, and Joshua feeding right into it. These usually end in him being moody, but he rebounds well enough. Their big arguments though are usually over how things should be handled, in which case both do their own shit and then one has to bail the other out. 

Who is the most skeptical of the two?

Joshua, hands down. Emilia is so eccentric compared to anything he’s use to, he almost always has something to say about anything she brings up. Even if its sound to him he still questions it if it comes from her mouth. It isn’t always voiced, but the eyebrow does raise. He’s stopped being amazed at her actually accomplishing what she says she will and has started getting annoyed with it...what a show off.

Who would be most likely to suggest a night of dancing?

Emilia, and she’d dance whether he comes along or not. My Joshua never learned how to dance, but I don’t think its his cup of tea either. He hums while he works, though, and Emilia has honed in on that.

What would they do if the other was injured in battle?

Assess the situation and then adjust. I think both would cover each other, though I think Emi is more likely to haul his ass to safety. That’s her target, damnit! Unless one was really fucking up patching themselves up, I dont think the other would help with wound dressing though.

How do their fighting styles complement each other?

Complement is a very interesting word here. Their entire schtick is that Emilia is adaptive, dynamic, changing to fit the situation and he is....just headstrong and very determined, haha. They work well together in that she forms to fit his methods and is his fall back if things ever go south. It works out well, some of the time. Other times its Emilia stealing his kills and him getting angry at how fast her draw is. 

Do they want children? Does it frighten them? How many do they want?

Together? No. He is particularly someone she would be cautious around. In their canon I don’t think they sleep together, just because Emilia has Thoughts about a man like that being on top of her, or at least having some kind of mindset about having slept with her. 

Still, I think my Graham is old enough to realize that kids wouldn’t have fit well into his life, Legion existing or not. Both grew up with religious and family pressures to marry and have kids, and neither really felt that it was for them. I think my Graham tried to find a greater purpose than starting a family in Legion, and that was his justification for never trying.

What happened when they took them home to their families? If their families aren’t in the picture anymore, how do they feel about it?

Joshua learns about Emilia’s family and past in a round about sort of way. Camila introduced herself to him, which was a heart attack to Emilia, and he’s seen the photos she keeps in her cigarette case. In honesty, he feels a bit envious at how closely she was able to keep her sister. Though I don’t know how I headcanon his blood family situation, I do think that he misses kinship. After Edward, he becomes very lonely, and even reconnecting with New Canaan he feels lost. How does a man his age find another friend that close? It’s part of why he so easily falls in being war chief again in my canon. It’s familiar, and its something he knows he’s good at, and that in itself is its own comfort. 

For Emilia, I think she envies his community. Though she was young when her life started falling apart she still knew what a stable home was, what a loving family was, and what it felt like to feel safe. She knows that even after all the tragedy he’s caused and how much misfortune fell on his tribe that he still has a home to go back to, and that they’d accept him with open arms. She misses being on the receiving end of that type of love, and most of all she hates being so closed off to people about herself. Even her sister she hides things from, and even then her sister doesn’t share her faith. I think if Joshua ever invited her meet his family she’d accept, even if she thought it would go poorly, just to feel things out and see if she could find some community in there.

How does each person show affection towards the other?

Again, its in the small things. When Emilia springs him from NCR custody, it was for entirely selfish, headhunting reasons, but she brought him bandages and his bible, and those were the small comforts that mattered. She’s hard on him in areas that no one else was, like teaching him genuine wilderness survival, or how to be independent. She also tries to get him to slow down and think about what he really cares about. Sure he gets his purpose from being war chief with the Dead Horses, but he truly does miss his tribe. These show themselves in small conversations, but if she didn’t care for him she wouldn’t even bring them up.

For him, its a bit of the same. He entertains her bullshit, but he also cleans and repairs her weapons. During their end game, Emilia has a robotic prosthetic leg, and he learns how to repair and upkeep it on the fly. He becomes receptive to her teaching (if only for a while), and to humble himself enough for that should speak volumes. 

Who cries the most? Who is better at comforting?

Neither really cry, though I think Emilia at least doesn’t feel pressured to keep face around him. Sharing a religious background and a lot of similar-but-different viewpoints, they actually comfort each other well in a passive sort of way. If their problems don’t relate to each other, they can usually talk through their issues. For Emilia, it’s a huge comfort to have someone else religious to talk to. She doesn’t often get this with most people, and even if Joshua isn’t 100% on the same thought train, the core belief is still there. 

For Joshua, it’s nice having someone who is also religious but doesn’t feel like he has to perform for them. Emilia isn’t here to judge him, they’ve both done and do horrible things in their life, and she’s just different enough that if she says something he doesn’t agree with he can dismiss it. Having someone he doesn’t have to keep face around is a breath of relief. Its nice to not have any expectations set on you, and although it annoys him a majority of the time, her laid back personality allows him to let his guard down. 

When it comes down to it though, a lot of what Emilia has already lived through are things that are popping up in Joshua’s life now, and he often finds reassurance in that she’s found ways of coping, and that she is willing to talk with him when he needs it.

so for a long while they both had crushes on each other but alexei is stupid and leo suffered from internalized homophobia believing hes not meant for relationships no matter how much he wanted one with someone he would never pursue it bc he thought he would be a burden/nobody sees him that way/he is repulsive;; alexei just admired leo too much and thought leo was out of his league and that hed never love someone like him and also bc hes alexei and is just like * has severe paranoia and also no social skills *

dasha saw the Signs™ tho bc hes like love is in the air….and i will find out where its coming from and then. he suffered watching these 2 dumbasses for 2 almost 3 years dance around each other and their feelings while nobody else believed him that hey…..looks like somethins goin on between alexei and leo…u ever notice how leo takes any chance to touch him? u ever notice the way alexei immediately becomes more interactive when leo comes along? yes i know leo is clingy yes i know alexei is improving socially just like. Look its Right in Front of You.

but anyways went like that for the longest time where both of them kind of planned to make their feelings known but could never work up the courage to follow through with it. and alexei got with lucien to try to forget abt leo bc he “knew” he ‘had no chance’ and leo just [roblox OOF] and as usual * focuses on work at a dangerous level and does stupid stuff *

which ends up with a mix up and confusion where leo is missing and puts everyone in a panic and miko catches a guy named nikostratos and ooh ooough oh hes so mad hes so ohguh hes so angry that hes mad. and without thinking and following standard procedure does some things and is 8D to find out uh oh! just gave my brother the familys awful itchy scratchy disease! fuck! time to go kms i guess!

and masha is big mad at everyone so shes just like leo and miko are banned from work and if they even attempt it they wont bc theyd cross me and nobody crosses me. and then alexei is put on watch to make sure leo doesnt try to sneak away and work on his own anyways and to nobodys surprise, he does try. instead of sending one of his people alexei personally confronts him and persuades him to go back home. to which leo asks alexei to stay with him and he does…slowly leo starts to ease up again as alexei stays with him and basically lives with him/stella/the twins for a short while as hes stationed to by masha

eventually after a while of watching both miko and leo masha is satisfied enough with their recoveries and allows them back to their jobs calling alexei off since they no longer need to be supervised. but alexei again * is extremely paranoid and well meaning but also awful * so he keeps his people watching leo from a distance just to be sure hes safe; as he does with maxim and miko (the only difference is that maxim and miko Know he does that and asked him to do that; leo didnt.) oh yeah somewhere sprinkled in around that time alexei split with lucien cause he just. wasnt happy it wasnt working. i dont remember where exactly in all this mess it happened LMAO u might wanna ask my boyed friend abt that since alexei is his

so anyways after a while of being back to work leo notices hes still being followed and slowly gets paranoid and irritable. he ends up doing rash things that could end up getting him killed just to get the attention of the people following him to see if hes “just being paranoid” or if hes really being followed still despite masha allowing him to return to work. eventually after the 3rd time instead of sending someone to intervene alexei himself shows up and leo is Angry and hurt tells alexei to call off his people cause if he ever sees them again he wont hesitate to kill them and so alexei does cause he does care abt his people he doesnt try to defend himself or anything it finally hits him that he just “oh hmm. ok yeah that was kinda fucked up. uh oh i fucked up. this is bad”

and leos whole attitude began to shift instead of his usual generally polite and very easy attitude ready to make friends with anyone he became guarded irritable and quiet and he lost the soft tone in his voice. eventually even with his favourite most important people around him (stella/felix/miko) hes just too paranoid sick to his stomach and angry to stay where he is. so he says hes going to take a vacation and instead moves down to work at the other facilities as a lower agent domenico carlevaro; he doesnt alter his appearance too much aside from dyeing his hair and changing his general fashion style. the only person he allows to come down and see him is mikolaj but he says if felix or stella ever asked him he is allowed to tell them they can see him but no one else. not maxim or dasha or alcides not the twins. he cant stand to see anyone else. miko regularly visits him but has to ask each time since leo doesnt stay in 1 place for too long. eventually leos anger just makes him even more reckless causing him to break his prosthetic; so he has to return to apologize to dasha and ask for a new one.

there he finds out alexei has disappeared and immediately he just feels a twist in his stomach bc he wanted to be angry and pretend that hes over it and he doesnt care about him anymore but he still does so after he gets his new arm despite maxims protests he insists that he will assist maxim in the search. miko reports that alexei was last seen injured being carried away by a woman from some abandoned facility and so everyone is like ok fuck! who is that! is he already dead! or what the fuck! goddamn it! eventually maxim and leo manage to find where alexei is hiding running into one of his people; daria who is a tracker and not really experienced in protection. she… doesnt know how to properly use a gun. shenanigans happen bc daria is sweet and maxim and leo are not mean then leo sees alexei and boy ! he is  FUCKED UP. alexei looks like hes str8 up dying (cause he is!) hes extremely weak and has to use a cane to walk hes got bloody bandages all over and his arm in a sling and later leo and maxim see that arm has a huge ass bite taken out of it and maxim is just 8D…im a good doctor but im not That good a doctor what the fuck is this. and calls marina down to see if they know what this is

marina does and identifies it as a kaprinka bite (ask my boyed friend what a kaprinka is) and that all cases theyve been in charge of nobody has survived but theyll do what they can to try to fix it. maxim and leo decide to take shifts to always be in the room with alexei in case anything goes wrong like his condition suddenly gets even worse and they need to call marina or an attempt on his life happens. so the first night while leo is in charge of watching alexei they start to talk and leo isnt angry anymore and instead is just…Really really sad and admits how hes felt and how he knows that he doesnt have to; he shouldnt; and he Doesnt forgive him for what he did but hes willing to push that aside to at least go back to the way they were. and alexei admits how hes felt and apologizes for everything and how he “probably got himself killed” and theyre both just mmmm feels bad toddbut after that it gives alexei the push to keep on living and alexei does Stupid Stuff which is really stupid but! it helps and he manages to bring back the kaprinka for marina to see what they can do to help him since they said that theyve only ever seen kaprinka that were already dead and not usable for testing it takes months and some big rollercoaster ups and downs w/ alexeis progress but he makes it and recovers but continues to stay in hiding til he gains his full strength back and during that time someone is sent to kill him and leo and maxim stop the guy and then stuff happens and alexei is big mad and blah blah and stuff and then after thats taken care of and his recovery is full they all return and leo helps alexei/artyom/daria in their search for what originally caused the whole situation alexei got in

and so basically from the day they found him theyve been dating Finally but never like fully established it but its very clear now so everyone knows and dasha is rubbing it in everyones faces and miko and felix are dying and they just Cant understand.

also a quick note: theres 2 darias…i have a daria who is just a cute crafts girl with rainbow hair but thats not the daria in this situation…the daria in that situation is my boyfriends oc who is a motorcycle racer and tracker for alexei but they are both equally cute and good

I’m so mad, I’m so.....fuck. I feel like this doctor had no intention of ever doing this surgery because its like ever since I actually CAME UP with the money, its been one thing after another about why I need to do this still or that, and it feels like they kept stalling or trying to get me to give up, like....idk, nothing I come up with makes SENSE, all I know is they were perfectly fine and helpful in getting me a diagnosis and scans, and then sent me off after I did the final molds/impressions and said the only thing left was they couldn’t move forward until I paid x amount of money...and then I did, and all of a sudden its oh that’s not the right amount, I don’t know who quoted you that (umm you) but actually we need 20K up front because insurance claims can’t be submitted until after treatment and we might not be reimbursed (which again, then why did YOU make me wait to send my insurance preauthorization requests if your policy is to make patients pay in full upfront and wait for reimbursement which...what)...and THEN if there was STILL never a chance of me getting this surgery without paying in full upfront, why did they make me wait around for another week and a half while we waited on getting my insurance approve an access to care form that made this doctor in network (previously she was out of network for my insurance, but I had my insurance check for in network providers and there’s no one in network within a 100 miles of me who does this specific surgery)....like, if even being in network, they still weren’t going to take Blue Shield’s formal, written letter detailing what exactly was covered under my plan and they were intending to pay out....WHY WAIT FOR THIS FORM TO GO THROUGH AND GET THE LETTER BACK AT ALL????

It makes NO fucking sense. I feel like they never expected me to actually be able to come up with the money and idk what, like, she actually doesn’t know how to do the surgery or she doesn’t fucking doesn’t like me or want to or what like, lmfao I don’t even know, it MAKES NO SENSE.

But of course, its super obvious they were putting off calling me and hoping they could ride out the clock and I wouldn’t call today because I can tell the office manager doesn’t like being the go between and having to only give me bad news, but like, tough, that’s your fucking job, and maybe if you’d been a little less ‘gentle’ about it and just flat out admitted you guys were never gonna fucking do this surgery for me, I wouldn’t have WASTED an entire fucking month sitting on my ass, draining my account of money I can’t afford to waste, because my shitty jaw has progressed to the point where I can barely sleep, barely even eat because I have to manually fucking close it with my hand when I chew anything harder than rice, lmfao, and just....

God. The only thing I can think of to do now is try calling every other oral/maxillofacial surgeon in the county and see if they can do these procedures and accept my insurance. I know there’s no in network ones, and I already checked and my insurance can’t help me find a list of out of network ones, I have to basically just google every oral surgeon in LA and even though they’re all apparently out of network if they’re able to perform this surgery at all, I can at least probably get them in network by doing an access to care form again with them too, like since clearly this doctor turned out to not be a viable option? Idek man. Ugh. Jfc. And who knows how long this is gonna take. Ugh if they’d at least just fucking owned up to it and just called me this morning when they decided this still didn’t change shit, I could have had all day to be calling other offices instead of waiting for them to call and hoping this time at least they were aware enough of my DESPERATE FUCKING SENSE OF URGENCY BECAUSE HAVE I MENTIONED CONSTANT FUCKING OWWWWW AND ALSO HEY MY COMPLETE INABILITY TO FUNCTION IN ANY KIND OF MEASURABLY PRODUCTIVE WAY??? that they’d actually KEEP their word this time about calling when they said they’d call.

Now of course, none of these places are open on Saturday from the looks of it, so I won’t even be able to START calling around until Monday, and ugh. jfc. why. why the fuck did they string me along all fucking month if they knew at the end of it all no matter what, they weren’t gonna budge from trying to get me to pay 20K upfront, out of pocket, like I hadn’t told them from the START there was no way I could manage that, and hadn’t told them AGAIN when they TOOK my fucking money in the first place, when I paid them the $6,200 they INITIALLY told me would be my downpayment for this surgery, like I told them THEN that getting the loan for $10K in order to come up with the EXACT amount they specified took every bit of goodwill I could wring out of a lender with the credit I do have and there was ZERO chance of me coming up with ANYTHING more than that amount upfront....so why the fuck didn’t they tell me at least THEN when they ‘corrected’ me on the amount that it didn’t matter HOW MANY fucking hoops I jumped through with my insurance to try and get this doctor the reassurance or surety that they’d be reimbursed for x amount by Blue Shield...like....I COULD HAVE BEEN DOING ALL THIS A GODDAMN MONTH AGO. I’ve been waiting TWO YEARS for a fix to this shit that affects EVERY SINGLE ASPECT of my life, I FINALLY got a fucking diagnosis, a doctor who told me she could fix it, who said she could restore full function and wipe out the problems I have from it completely, no more headaches, no more pain, no more vertigo, no more nerve flareups....and now turns out I’ve wasted ANOTHER full month that got me not a single fucking step closer to this being DONE and FIXED and like.....

I’m so mad. And just. So frustrated. And SO. FUCKING. TIRED. Jfc. I hate them, I really fucking do, like they literally just fucking don’t give a shit no matter how many times I really fucking calmly and civilly lol tried to express how much it gets worse every single day like it has been CONSISTENTLY for the past two years, like never fucking plateauing, no matter HOW bad I think its gotten, it ALWAYS fucking manages to find a way to surprise me when I wake up the next day and yet AGAIN its somehow managed to shift so things are just enough different I NEVER get a chance to even get used to a ‘new normal’ and just fucking adjust to it, as shitty as it might be....ugh. God. I’m just.

LMFAO I honestly think right now I hate this doctor more than the fucking gay-bashers who caused this fucking drama by kicking me in the goddamn face over and over 15 fucking years ago and if THAT’S not hysterically fucked up I REALLY DONT KNOW WHAT IS.

Anyway. So that’s my mood tonight, how’s everyone else doing? LOL.

This might be a longshot, but on the off chance that ANYONE knows or is friends with or related to an oral surgeon or oral maxillofacial surgeon in the greater LA area, like, this specifically is what I’ve been told I need to get done:

I need a Mandibular splint, a Total joint surgery on the left tmj (Temporomandibular joint) and an Orthognathic surgery. They specifically ruled out that I didn’t need a jaw replacement surgery because I have enough of the original bone that goes in that joint like, still there, so I didn’t actually need to get a prosthetic joint or the jaw replacement surgery which is apparently riskier and less effective anyway? Idek. If I can even trust anything they told me at this point, lmfao, but let’s just assume I can because not sure this fucker’s depression hour can handle thinking I might have to start back from square one NOPE NOT GONNA HAPPEN NOT THIS GUY I FUCKING REFUSE.

LOL as though my objections have any fucking effect on any of this anyway. BUT I DIGRESS. So yeah, that’s what I supposedly need done, I actually have really fucking good and expensive Blue Shield insurance that I’ve gouged myself a new asshole getting and keeping this year, not to mention needed donation posts and help with that just to still ultimately scrape by and not lose it, all specifically because I knew there was not a chance in hell I could ever afford the treatment I was being told I needed, like, out of pocket, and the irony is due to how expensive living out of a motel is and how like, I couldn’t afford to take any money AWAY from my many doctor visits in order to at any point this past year come up with enough money to put first and last month’s rent down on an apartment (and I look too much like a tweaker apparently, with constant twitches and fidgets and fixing my jaw, for like, anybody to want to just rent a room to me apparently, and even giving them the full story ended up seeming like “im too much drama” hahahaha oh LA I fucking HEART you sometimes), so there was never really any fucking alternative TO living out of motels currently, at least not until I can manage to stay upright on my feet long enough to get a part time job and use that to get a permanent address around here.....AND bottom line is in order to take in enough money from work and then ultimately from help with donations too, in order to keep my motels paid daily and not get kicked out and still manage to eat at least every other day....that was just enough money that it looks from my bank account that I make too much to need or justify Medicare taking on all this for me, ruling that out as an option, even though none of that money in my bank account was ever fucking LEFT by the end of each day after paying rent/food, and I usually only had like three bucks in my account by the time I went to bed each night....doesn’t fucking matter because lolol all they give a shit about is your MONTHLY statements. And I’m well past the point where I can even manage busing all the way around LA to downtown and shit in order to make the daily trips required to get Medicare offices to eventually give enough of a fuck to hear me out, like...a five minute bus ride to Best Buy today to buy a replacement keyboard for this laptop practically wiped me out ahahaha.

Anyway, I’m just venting and purging like I do. Don’t worry, I promise not to actually go supernova and ignite the atmosphere like I threatened earlier, that was all for show, we all know I’m WAY too petty and spiteful an asshole to ever settle for anything less than full fucking victory here and then like...eventual world domination because lol not like I’m letting those frathole rapist gaybasher fuck-offs WIN, like, have you MET me? I have survived this long on ire and spite, I will make it as far as I need to its, just...

I still dont fucking know how all this works, apparently Grey’s Anatomy is not an accurate source, who knew, how dare.

Kat is definitely my favourite character. Hey what's not to love? She's fiery, driven, sweet, and wild. And she has green hair... I love that she doesn't let anything stop her. Not the prosthetic leg, not the challenges of being a mutant, not anyone else's fears. She courageously stands up for what she believes is right.

Idk if I’m allowed to answer a question since I’m the author, but I think my favourite scene so far is the scene in the bedroom

I think Evan has a lot of pain and scars and he's afraid to open up and create attachments because he might lose them. To me he seems equally scared of getting hurt and hurting others. That's a theory anyhow.

And I think he will open up more, especially with someone like Kat around.

As for secret police..I think it will force him out of his comfort zone, and that's probably in and of itself going to be very good for him...can't wait to see where it all goes.(edited)

Favorite scene was the fight with the mugger. It was a great showcase of the two's powers, and also the mugger was kind of funny.

my favorite is dad. he's not perfect, but he tries his hardest, and i love him for it

QUESTION 6. Do you think working for the secret police will be everything Kat dreamed of? What unfortunate obstacles do you think might interrupt Kat’s dreams of living openly as herself?

1) my favorite scene is probably the bedroom scenes. if only cause shallow-ly, i really loved evan just walking through the damn wall. hes so dang casual about it that i can help but admire how normalized the powers are to them in comparison to other ppls reactions. 2) the dad because he walks that fine line between looking out for the kids' safety and acknowledging that they are ppl who need room to grow and become their own ppl. that honestly a really rare depiction that i feel we dont get to see enough of in comics. 3) i want to assume its for an agency that is trying to disstablize the use of things like secret police. and the advantage comes in that if they can show the secret police are dangerous and have super powered ppl working for them, they can convince others to shut it down. 4) i have mixed feelings on the secret police. i assume its a bit of both. the little guys just want to do good things for the world. but the larger entity has probably slowly corrupted or something. become riddled with office politics. something like that. i feel the dad returning to investigations is significant to the story since hes probably gonna find leads the kiddos are gonna follow. 5) i think evan wants to keep his true self hidden cause he doesnt trust anyone and kind of hates everyone secretly cause he hates himself. i actually think working for the secret police is gonna hurt with him opening up. cause i feel hes always gonna get into trouble doing with kat wants instead of developing as his own person and its gonna get overwhelming. 6) i dont think the secret police will be everything kat dreamed of XD cause i think kat is gonna find when an organization doesnt have huge oversight, bad things tend to happen. not to mention, i feel like she has this delusion shell suddenly be accepted with open arms by the world when more likely theres gonna be some levels of discrimination.

Well I guess we’ll see. I do think @RebelVampire is the most accurate when describing Evan’s internal struggle so far. And I love how many people favour the dad, Derek. And it sounds kind of like you guys think the Secret Police is like S.H.I.E.L.D. or something lol

And yes, while Kat is a beautiful gem she is too accepting to the point where she is naive and even clueless. But what else would you expect from someone who’s grown up kind of in hiding with no or few friends? It’s actually amazing that Evan is more cautious and less trusting, but to be fair he’s had some traumatic experiences with people, much more so than Kat, but I won’t spoil it

I didn’t expect people to think so highly of Derek I thought I was better at writing younger characters so thanks you guys🥳

QUESTION 7. In general, what tasks do you think Kat and Evan will be doing for the secret police? Do you think Kat and Evan will run into other people with abilities? Do you believe the two will be able to handle it, or will they be outmatched?

Hmm that's an interesting question...

I'm not really sure what they'll all be up to, but I'm definitely curious to see. I'm guessing they will run into some other mutants down the road...although I can't really see them fighting one of their "kind."

I'm not sure what the secret police will be willing to let Kat & Evan do at first. Because even though they are supermutants, they're also children. Maybe they'll be sent to deal with parking violations at first?

Whoo, finally caught up with work, so I can read comics again! I'm really enjoying the family dynamic in this one and probably like Kat the most. She's very earnest and energetic about her goals, and I'm looking forward to seeing if the secret police will encourage that or just add layers of moral grey.

I'm assuming Evan's parents died in a tragic mutant-power-related accident that he blames himself for and he was trying to attempt suicide back there before Kat called out to help with her prosthetic leg. I would hope he learns how to overcome his feelings of guilt and shame, but that seems like a long road and I could also see him giving in to those dark feelings and becoming an antagonist. Too early in the story to really tell!

7) i assume theyre going to be handling super powered ppl and perhaps other situations where the situation is easily solved with their powers. like evan's walk through wall ability could come in really handy for doing the sneaky sneaks. but i assume super villains cause this is why you get ppl with superpowers, to fight the super villains that regular civilians cant. as for their ability to handle it, they are 1000% going to be outmatched i think for a while. mostly because youth breeds arrogance and cavalier attitudes while their inexperience breeds clumsiness for lack of a better word. not the best combo. 8) i assume kairo specifically requested it, and im going to guess that the situation is them having to fight a super powered bad guy or something. cause for kids just starting out in the secret police, thats not a situation youd want to be involved in right off the bat. i assume theyll manage to get out of it though. just cause if they dont the comic ends cause everybody be dead.

QUESTION 9. Overall, how do you think being “superheroes” will change Kat and Evan, both in regards to their own personalities and their views of the world?

Kat's been strong-willed and taking risks and doing things she's not supposed to because she feels it's right, so I expect that'll get her into a fair bit of trouble when going after bad guys is her job. Evan is less risk-averse, but also prone to being pulled into trouble by Kat. I expect their problems are going to get a little more complex working with double agents and sides may become more difficult to choose, but I'm curious where becoming less sheltered and open to the world about their powers will take them, since we haven't seen many other examples of how people with powers are treated in society. Is it an X-Men "everyone knows they're around and hates them" thing or a Superman "superpowers are rare and letting people know my secret will be a huge hassle for me"?

welp i showed up to this discussion late but nevertheless i have things to say that are pretty similar to what others have said

first off my favorite character is kat. i decided this when she was like "by the way, you disgust me :)" to that criminal in the beginning of the story. great moment! i also like her design a lot, and the comic's use of bright colors in general

kat and evan view their role in the world v differently and i don't think they'll change easily. maybe evan will come around to accepting that it's okay to be in the spotlight, but i think it's more likely he'll keep wanting to hide away and that'll interfere with their work. even if he doesn't become a full on villain i think he'll at least want to do his own thing

as for kat, i'm worried for her, because i always worry about upbeat characters lol. what if being a Hero isn't what she expected huh, what if it sucks at first? i think evan would handle a reality shock better than kat since he isn't that enthusiastic about it to begin with. but kat might end up being really disappointed until she can adjust.

i really hope evan doesn't turn evil (or, like... evil adjacent?). then turn into a sibling vs sibling fight and ahhh oh no ;_;

9) i think for kat she's going to learn that doing the right thing is less black & white than she wants to believe. and that sometimes ppl do bad things with good intentions. so playing superhero is complicated and not just this 100% awesome thing. and i think shes really going to have to come to terms with the fact powers dont make her invincible and that ppl can get hurt as bystanders. as for her personality, i think overall itll mature her and make her more conscious of how her actions affect others at the end of the day. as for evan, i think hes gonna have an internal conflict about his personal feelings on his powers vs. the world showing him he can make a positive impact. and so while not evil, i think its gonna make him super angst for a while until eventually he chills out and learns to care about himself. i also think hell learn some independence and that he doesnt just have to follow kat everywhere. 10) im actually most looking forward to more world-building. seeing things like how the secret police are generally regarded, how powers are regarded, who kairo might be working for, etc. i think these are some elements thatll really set the stage for the future for kat and evan.

Clyde and the landlord were shooting the breeze outside the house when she arrived. Ten minutes early, as per usual. She parked her car in the short driveway and opened the door. She was wearing a flannel, sleeves rolled up and open, with a plain fitted shirt underneath. She had on blue jeans and the same beat-up sneakers she’d worn since she’d arrived weeks ago.

She smiled as she stepped out of her car, greeting both of them warmly. She turned on the charm with the landlord, doing her usual personal-question-dodge and wound up spending ten minutes just talking to him about his family. He warmed up to her as quick as can be, shooting an approving look at Clyde. After a few more minutes of chit-chat, the landlord motioned for them to follow him into the trailer, opening the door and letting them inside.

It was a single-wide model. One bedroom, one bathroom, a small kitchen and just enough room to fit a couch in the living space. It was pretty broken-in and smelled of stale cigarettes but it was cheap and there was a small garden out front. Clyde wasn't sure how she felt about it at first, she was quiet as the landlord took them from room to room, but at one point she turned around to face him and he could see the excitement in her eyes.

When the tour came to an end, she asked some general questions about rent and utilities and such, charming her way into doing a cash payment once a month. The landlord wasn't sure about it at first, it wasn't very legal after all. She promised to take extra good care of the place, ensuring him that she didn’t do drugs and that she wasn't planning on throwing any wild parties. She even offered to bring him and his family cookies from time to time. He fell right into it, agreeing to the cash payments and making her promise to bring those cookies over soon.

“When would I be able move in?” she asked, wringing her hands,

“As soon as you hand me first and last month’s rent,” he said. She immediately dashed out of the trailer, leaving Clyde and the landlord to give each other a look.

She dashed back in a few moments later with a roll of bills wrapped with a rubber band in her hand.

“This should be all of it for both months,” she handed the roll to the landlord, who looked slightly shocked.

“Maybe I should start working for you Clyde,”

Clyde just shrugged.

“He does pay well,” she patted her boss’ arm as she spoke to the landlord, “So can I move in today?”

The landlord chuckled and handed her the keys.

“All yours darlin’, I’m a few parts down if you need anythin’,”

She thanked him profusely, shook his and and he left, closing the door behind him. She let out a laugh, jumping in excitement. She took both of Clyde’s hands in hers, smiling wide.

“Thank you. For everything. I’ve never had my own place before. This— this is just amazing,”

His instinct was to flinch back, he didn't let people touch his prosthetic. But he relaxed to her touch when he looked at her face and saw how her eyes shone with excitement.

“It’s nothin’, I’m glad you like it here. Is there anythin’ I can help you bring in?”

“Such a gentleman, but I don’t have much. Just my bag,” she let go of his hands and let him follow her outside to her car. She opened it and grabbed a large backpack from the back seat.

His heart dropped. Was she living out of this backpack this whole time? What happens to a person to make them leave wherever they are with only a backpack? She caught him looking at her, and he felt his cheeks grow hot. He followed her back into her new home, awkwardly waiting by the door.

“I’ll check out of the Super 8 on the way to work, I just wanna enjoy being here right now,” She threw her bag on the worn-in couch in the living space and started opening all the windows in her trailer. “It reeks of cigarettes in here, I’ll have to scrub this place clean,”

“Jimmy and I are right next door if you need anythin’,” he offered, not knowing if he should leave.

“Actually,” she turned to him, taking a step so that they were nearly chest-to-chest, “Do you mind if I use your kitchen? I haven't had a real meal in months and I’d like to cook something up. I dont have any utensils yet, and you and Jimmy are more than welcome to have as much as you want’,” her voice slipped into the honey-tone she’d just used on the landlord as she spoke.

“Now that’s temptin’ an all but you don’t gotta turn your charm on me,” he said. She looked at him with her doe eyes, and he realized then he’d never be able to say no to her.

“I don’t know what you mean Clyde,”

“You do it with the customers and I just watched you do it with the landlord, you try to charm people when you wanna switch stuff in your favor,”

She put her hands on her hips and her eyes crinkled as she looked up at him.

“You just got me all figured out, dont you? Alright, I promise I won’t use all that on you anymore. But I’ll ask as a friend: Can I use your kitchen with the promise that I’ll cook whatever you and Jimmy want?”

“As a friend,” he started, making her smile, “You are welcome over any time,”

“Thank you,” it was said softly, in a tone she had never used around him before.

He nodded and closed the trailer door behind him as he left.

“I haven’t seen this much food in your fridge since before mama passed,” Mellie said, closing the door to the Logan brother’s refrigerator with a cold beer in her hand.

It was past midnight at the Logan house when Mellie made a surprise visit with a case of beer. Clyde had closed the bar early since it was dead that night, and Jimmy didn’t have work the next morning so they decided to indulge with their sister.

“You-know-who’s been comin’ to our place all week to cook, lettin’ us take as much as we want,” Jimmy explained.

She raised her eyebrows at Clyde, who took a long swig of his own beer before talking.

“She’s still settlin’ in to her place, we have all the utensils she needs and we’re gettin’ some nice home cooked meals, I don’t see what the issue could be,”

“Is it any good?” She asked Jimmy.

“No complaints here,” The older brother said.

“Then there’s not problem,” she popped the can open and smiled at Clyde. “People have been askin’ about her in the salon, y’know,”

“Didn’t think there was much to ask about,” Clyde mumbled.

“That’s the problem, no one really knows anything about her. She just up and came in to town one day. No one knows who she is or where she’s from,”

“Does is really matter?”

“I mean, a little? Look, you trust her. And me and Jimmy trust her because you trust her, but don’t you think that she's kinda sketchy?”

“I do not, because I mind my own business unlike the women who sit in your salon chair,”

Mellie started to speak when a knock was heard at the door, followed by the sound of someone letting themselves in. The subject of conversation poked her head into the room the siblings were in.

“Hi, sorry to burst in, I just realized I left my phone here earlier,” She grabbed her phone off the kitchen counter, not catching the look the siblings shared while they tried to figure out whether she’d heard them or not. “Sorry to bother you, have a good night!”

“You’re not botherin’ us, stay for a beer,” Mellie said suddenly, clearly feeling guilty. The girl stopped walking towards the door and caught Clyde’s eye, raising her eyebrows as if to ask if it was okay. He nodded.

She walked towards the siblings, grabbing a beer from the fridge and sitting down with them.

“So, what’re we talking about?”

“Jus’ family stuff,” Jimmy said, avoiding her gaze.

“Jimmy was talkin’ about the Easter Fair that’ll be happenin’ in Boone in a few weeks, his daughter wants to go,” Mellie said, going back to an older conversation from that night.

“That sounds fun, we used to have one of those up where I was,”

“Oh?” Millie said, giving her middle brother a look. She had never spoken about where she came from before.

“Yeah, we had an Easter Fair, but the weather is a little different from where I’m from. It’s usually pretty rainy this time of year, so its not really as fun as it could be. Kids always get muddy during the egg hunt, parents have learned to let them wear clothes they dont mind getting dirty that day,” she laughed to herself with that one.

“Does it rain a lot where you’re from?” Jimmy asked, trying to get her to keep talking about herself.

“Not too much, its mostly during the spring and maybe a few thunderstorms in the summer. We have other festivals around where I’m from too, one for strawberries, one for garlic, we even started having a cupcake one recently,”

“They have a whole festival just for garlic? That’s gotta smell,” Mellie crinkled her nose.

“I never went to that one personally, but I heard they just had people walking around with whole bundles of it hanging from their hats. They would deep fry the cloves too for people to eat, which sounds gross but is it really a fair if something isn't deep fried?”

“I reckon it isn’t,” Jimmy said, laughing at the idea.

The siblings seemed to grow more comfortable from there, conversation and beer flowing for a few hours after that. They shared stories about weird town traditions and regional foods. It was past 3am when things started to wind down. Clyde let Mellie crash in his room, insisting on taking the couch. Jimmy went back to his room, giving his brother a not-so-sly wink before shutting the door.

“I should head back, It’s late,”

“They sleep like rocks, especially after drinking, so you dont have to if you don’t wanna,” Clyde said, starting to gather up the empty beer cans to throw away.

“I don’t wanna intrude,” she said, finishing off her fourth beer and throwing it in the bin her boss was holding.

“Y’ain’t,” he said simply.

“I-I heard you guys earlier,” she said quieter. Clyde let a breath out his nose and turned to face her once the cans were cleaned up.

“I’m sorry about them, they got no business askin’—”

“I understand where they’re coming from, it’s not like I do a lot of talking,” she admitted, cheeks slightly pink from the alcohol.

“It’s none of their business what you tell people. If you don’t wanna talk, you dont have to,”

“I know, and you've been so understanding and kind and you’ve never pushed me to talk and I’m so grateful for that,”

“It’s just basic kindness,”

“Thats part of the problem Clyde, I haven't experienced a lot of kindness. This is overwhelming to me. It shouldn't be but it is,” she put her hands on his, making his breath hitch, but he didn't pull away. “I—I wanna tell you, I—“

“You’ve been drinkin’ I don’t want you to regret telling me in the mornin’—”

“No, I want this, I’ve been holding this on my own for months and if I’m gonna talk about it, I want it to be with you,”

Her gaze held steady with his. Her eyes were gorgeous this close up. He squeezed back with his flesh hand.

“If thats what you want, I’m listenin’ to you,” he said, keeping his hands in hers. He guided her so they sat on the couch.

She gave a shaky sigh as she began to speak.

“I came here — because I was running away. From my fiancé. We had been together since college and things were great at for such a long time but then we moved in together a couple of years ago after graduation and he— he changed. Or maybe he was always that way and I didn’t want to see it,

“It started out with little things. I’d do something stupid like throw out the newspaper before he finished reading it and he’d get angry and break something. But he’d always apologize and replace it, so I thought it was okay. But it would start to escalate and he eventually stopped taking his anger out on objects and started taking it out on me,” Her voice broke on the last word, lips pressed together like she couldn't decide whether to keep going to not.

“He’d always apologize after. He’d say it was a mistake, that he didn’t mean it, that it would never happen again. And things would be great for a few months after, but it kept happening and I kept staying with him and believing him like a fucking idiot,” her voice became more punctuated as she spoke.

“There was one time I left the apartment after a fight, I had turned off my phone and went to a park and just needed to clear my head. I turned my phone back on after a few hours and saw almost a hundred text messages and dozens of missed calls from him. They’d say he was sorry one minute and the next would be how he cant live without me and he was going to kill himself and that it would be my fault if he did because I didn't love him like he loved me. And so I went back because how could I let someone kill themselves because of a mistake they made?”

“And it just kept getting worse and worse and then for Valentines Day I messed up the reservation at the restaurant we were gonna go to and—” her hands gripped his, nails digging into plastic and flesh.

“—And I woke up three days later in the hospital with him over me, telling me he was so happy I was okay and that he was so sorry and that I can’t tell anyone it was him who did this because they’ll send him to jail and all this fucking bullshit about how he loved me.

“And thats when I knew. It took me winding up in the hospital on fucking Valentines Day to realize that he didn't love me and that I was gonna die if I stayed with him. That he could threaten suicide all he wanted because thats all it was. A threat. But what he was doing to me wasn't a threat, it was real,”

She wasn't looking at Clyde at this point, and he was thankful for that because he was filled with so much disgust and rage that he was having trouble breathing evenly at this point.

“And so a few days later when I knew he had to leave the hospital and go back to work I checked myself out and went back to our apartment and picked up everything important, shoved it in my backpack, got in my car and started driving. I got to the first ATM I could find and withdrew my limit on my credit card so he couldn’t track me though it but I’d still have some money. I turned the location off on my phone then turned off my phone, and drove in whatever direction the highway took me. And after about twelve hours, exhausted and out of painkillers from the hospital, I wound up here.” her hands left his to make a general motion around her.

“I didn't know if I was gonna even stay here, its nothing like home. It’s rural, out of the way, I didn't know anyone here. I mean, what was I gonna do in West Virginia?”  She looked at him again, eyes red and slightly puffy but no tears. “And then you gave me a job and I had a reason to be here, and I liked being here. I felt a little more secure, making money, having a place to heal, and I liked working with you,”

Her talking about him softened his rage a little. He reached out to touch her, tucking her hair behind her ear, resting his hand on her shoulder before speaking to her softly.

“You didn't deserve any of that y’know, that was him and not you. Anything you coulda done wasn't permission for him to do that to you,”

“It’s taken a lot but I’m starting to realize that. I’ve been reading a lot of stuff online at the library. There’s a lot of domestic violence survivor websites and they’ve helped me a lot. And being around you and Mellie and Jimmy. You’ve shown me nothing but kindness, even as a complete stranger, and I really can’t thank you enough,” A few tears started to fall, and she swiped them away quickly.

“You deserve all the kindness in the world. Don’t let anyone tell you different,” he said, thumb brushing against her wet cheek. The alcohol in his system making him bolder. “An’ if I ever see that man he won’t make it out of this county in one piece, i can promise that,”

“I don’t doubt you, but I hope that doesn't happen. I just want my life back, I’ve lost enough of myself,” She caught herself on her last words, squeezing his prosthetic hand. “Im so sorry, I didn't mean it like that. God, that was stupid of me. I’m crying over this and not even thinking about what you’ve been through,”

“Its fine, I know what you mean. What happened with you is a different kind a loss, but its not any less of one. I take it this was the ‘accident’ you were mentionin’ when you lost your tooth?”

“Yeah, it got lost in the mess. And the doctors were more concerned about my cracked ribs and stuff so the window to get the tooth back in got kinda lost,” Clyde inhaled sharply at the though of the kind of force needed to crack someones ribcage. She took notice, elaborating on her injuries.

“It still kinda hurts. I’ve been icing it and breathing deeply and taking ibuprofen, which is what the doctors told me I could do when I was checking out. I just kinda have to wait it out on them,” She lifted her shirt and twisted her body, showing the faint yellow and blue bruises that ran all the way up her side. “It was bright red at first, then bright purple, but its been healing okay, doesn't hurt as much anymore,”

He realized he’d been having her carry boxes and taking down chairs and lifting all sorts of heavy things as the bar and shame washed over him. What if she had gotten hurt again?

“Luckily, nothing is scar tissue, its all bruises that have faded. I must’ve had on a quarter of an inch of foundation on my face when I first walked into Duck Tape. I took pictures of everything as soon as I got my phone, to document it all, you know, and its a lot better than it was,”

“I had you doin’ heavy liftin’ at the bar, you could've asked me to have you just do the light stuff,” he said, still feeling regret.

“Clyde, you go in there every day and manage just fine, I figured I had no excuse to not do the same,”

He watched as she ran her hand over his prosthesis absentmindedly as she spoke, to where plastic meets flesh. She was gentle, but not in a way that she made him out to be fragile. They were featherweight strokes that almost tickled. They were playful. Intimate.

“I was headin’ back from my second tour in Iraq,” He said softly, “We were almost at the airport when a bomb went off near our truck. I woke up a few hours later. Doctor said I was lucky I survived, but then I realized where my left hand was supposed to be there was just a stump, and I didn't feel so lucky,” She continued to touch him, but looked up at him as she did. There was no pity in her eyes, just empathy.

“They had me go through the physical therapy and gave me the prosthetic once I was back stateside, its been almost four years but sometimes it doesn’t feel real, like I’ll wake up and it’ll be there agin. But this is real life, and I’m doing my best to accept that,” he looks down to watch her fingers ghost over him. She stops and moves to bring his hand up to her face, kissing the plastic lightly.

“Thank you for telling me that, I’m sorry you went through that, you're much more than what has happened to you,”

He had heard “I’m sorry” a millions times before. He couldn't blame people for saying that, what are you supposed to say to someone who's had their hand blown off? But “you're much more than what has happened to you”? That struck a place inside him he didn't know existed.

He wasn’t one for hugs, or any physical contact for that matter, but he had swept her into one before he could stop himself. He’d blame it on the beer later on. She wrapped her arms around him in response, burrowing into his chest. He rested his chin on top of her head, breathing in her smell, playing with her hair.

“We’re quite a combo of trauma aren't we?” her voice vibrated in his chest as she spoke.

“I suppose so,” He chuckled. They sat like that for a while. She started to lightly trace circles on his back though his shirt, changing up the patten ever so often. They embraced the silence, the only noise coming from the spring peepers outside.

“Clyde?” she said after a while.

“Hm?”

“I’m glad we met,”

He breathed in her scent again, ghosted a kiss on the top of her head.

“Me too,”

Summary: Tony Stark always knew about Peter Parker. He didn’t know that Peter was going to get superpowers and become Spider-Man, but he always knew about Peter because Peter was his son.

This will span from pre-Iron Man up through the rest of the MCU (eventually including Infinity War) and will be for the most part canon compliant except where I’ve taken some liberties and interpreted canon a certain way.

Chapter One Hundred Five

It turned out that having Michelle know he was Spider-Man and acknowledging that she did was a good thing. Michelle was just all that much better about covering for Peter. Just the other day when they’d gone on a small class trip and Peter had spotted a mugging happening, it was Michelle that had distracted everyone long enough for Peter to get away unnoticed and then again when he rejoined them.

The only thing about Michelle was that unlike Ned, she actually seemed concerned about what Peter got up to. She worried. It was weird especially when she pretended that she didn’t in person and then sent him long rambling texts about how he wasn’t being careful and how close he came to getting injured or hurting others.

It was all on par with how much coverage Spider-Man had started to get from the media which Peter didn’t particularly like. At first it had seemed cool to be mentioned on the news all the time and to have articles about Spider-Man popping up everywhere. His favorite were the YouTube videos since those were usually fun to watch mostly because they weren’t all made by anyone truly professional. But after a while, even those got old. It got annoying. Tony definitely disliked it.

“I just don’t like how interested everyone seems to be in finding out your identity,” his dad said while they were tinkering in the workshop. “It’s none of their business.”

Peter liked listening to him rant. It was kind of hilarious especially when one considered Tony’s own media presence basically his entirely life.

“And it’s not like we’ve announced that you’re an Avenger or anything but some reason they just seem to associate you with us.”

That’s when Steve spoke up. “That’s because they see you out and about with him all the time as Iron Man and Iron Man is an Avenger.”

“That isn’t the point,” Tony said.

“And also, Peter’s the only hero that’s popped up that has a hidden identity. Gives everyone a mystery to want to solve.”

Tony muttered some more and Peter tried not to laugh. He could tell that Steve was amused too.

Since all that stuff with The Vulture, Tony still did tend to show up when Peter needed help. He was better about letting Peter be involved in things especially when they didn’t involve alien tech. They had stopped some weird guy with what seemed to be some sort of power -- Tony said he was probably an inhuman -- just the other day from destroying a big portion of Greenwich Village. The guy hadn’t been doing it on purpose it turned out it. It was just that his powers were so unstable. Peter had been glad to have Tony there because he didn’t a single person could have handled everything that instance entailed. Even Vision had made an appearance for that. In the end they had subdued the guy and Tony had handed him over to a the new Shield.

“But also, it’s not just the identity thing,” Tony kept on, “it’s that there’s varying degrees of coverage. He’s good for the city. He’s a vigilante. He’s an Avenger. He’s not. It’s ridiculous. At least no one seems to have put together that I built your suit. Or at least no one’s written an article about it yet. And can you imagine if anyone found out I had a son? Because then they would definitely start questioning whether you were the one under the mask and then my parenting would come into question.”

It was no surprise to Peter that Ned loved it. He had a whole collection on articles written about him and he would send Peter the more outrageous ones and Peter would pass those on to Steve because Steve loved reading them too. May seemed to agree with Tony on the whole matter. But then, May also tended to try and get Peter to quit being Spider-Man altogether whenever she saw him and it wasn’t something that was ever likely to stop. She liked to bring up questions about school and girlfriends and college and how Spider-Man wouldn’t be an ideal addition to any of those as her way of asking him to stop.

As he stepped out of Midtown one afternoon, Peter was surprised when he spotted Tony complete with a baseball cap, sunglasses, a grin, and a thermal cup that probably contained coffee, leaning against a sleek black car that at least proved to be his least flashy. Still, no matter how hard he was trying, he looked out of place and people were noticing him.

Michelle who had walked out with him spotted Tony with no problem and when Peter glanced at her he could practically see her thinking. Her left eyebrow rose and she stared him down.

“Is Tony Stark actually picking you up right now?”

Peter shook his head. “Nope. It’s all in your imagination. You’re hallucinating.”

Michelle laughed -- cackled more like and Peter grinned back at her as she nudged him and rolled her eyes. Ned appeared then, busy with his backpack as he walked, and only managing to not run into anyone because anyone in his path dodged him.

“Hey, what’s going on?”

“Your boy here is being picked up by Tony Stark. Fancy that. I bet Flash will be jealous.”

“Which is why I’m going to go before anyone else notices,” Peter said and rushed away. When he looked back Michelle waved and Ned grinned at him and gave him thumbs up.

“Hey,” Peter said when he was close enough.

“Hi, kiddo,” his dad said, “I was in the area so I figured I’d come by and get you. I was also sort of craving this apple crostini this one restaurant has so we’re going to have to make a stop for that. Up for it?”

Peter rolled his eyes but nodded. “Sure.”

They got into the car and when Peter looked out the window he realized that a few people were watching them. Someone must have caught onto Tony being there. Not that it really mattered since everyone knew that Peter had a Stark Internship. Of course, no intern could have ever expected for Tony Stark himself to show up to pick them up from school. He was definitely going to hear about it.

The restaurant Tony took them to was a hole in the wall that no one would have ever noticed and yet it was busy. A well known secret. Nevertheless, they were seated at a discrete table towards the back without much wait which told Peter that Tony had called ahead.

“Why are we really here?” Peter asked.

“I told you -- apple crostini. Also, remind me to order one to go because Steve would kill us if we don’t bring him one back. We used to come here sometimes back in the day.”

“Oh,” Peter said.

His dad never really talked about how he and Steve had come to be and Peter didn’t really have any questions or want to know details, but he loved when Tony slipped in something that hinted at a past memory. It made him realize how normal it all was in some ways. Sometimes, it was still shocking to think about Iron Man and Captain America in a romantic relationship or to consider that they were getting married until he thought about them as Tony and Steve -- his dad and his dad’s fiance.

“Truth is, I wanted to catch up with you,” Tony said. “Things have been a bit crazy lately. Haven’t really spent much time with you on our own. Steve or someone else is usually around.”

Peter hadn’t -- no, he’d noticed, it was just that he hadn’t minded. He’d never expected to have Tony to himself all the time and had felt lucky when he did even if then it had been broken up to a few hours here and there and now he was living in the tower and had access to Tony all the time and it didn’t really matter that there were other people around.   

“We can start with, who was the girl?”

Peter rolled his eyes. “Who, Michelle? I’ve told you about her. She’s the one that figured out I’m Spider-Man all on her own.”

“MJ. You said someone named MJ did.”

“Michelle Jones. She likes to be called MJ. Anyway, that was her.”

Tony nodded. The waitress approached then and Tony ordered the apple crostinis and remembered to order the one to go as well without Peter needing to remind him.

“So she’s super smart and observant,” Tony said.

“Yup. Definitely knew it was you waiting for me. Actually, I think a few people figured it out.”

Tony shrugged with a grin. “And they can all wonder about what your internship entails once more.”

Tony started asking about how things were going in school next and Peter filled him in even though he was sure he’d mentioned some of it to him in passing over the last few weeks.

The apple crostini turned out to be amazing. He was in the middle of telling Tony about what they’d started working on in physics when it arrived and after one bite of the crunchy and flaky crust with the warm apple filling and the ice cream and Peter was in heaven.

“I told you so,” Tony said.

“This is the best thing ever,” Peter said.

It was nice to have some time on his own with Tony. Tony told him all about how the board members were driving him and Pepper crazy because they didn’t like that Tony’s concern wasn’t all about profit when it came to the prosthetic division even when it came to custom projects.

“It’s like they don’t understand how good the PR is although that obviously isn’t why we’re doing it.”

“But it’s your company,” Peter said.

“Pepper and I own more than half of the shares of the company, sure, but that doesn’t mean we don’t have to deal with the board of directors. It’s the side of business that I don’t particularly like. Pepper is awesome at it. It’s all stuff you’ll have to learn about if you want to take over the company one day--”

“Um, what?” Peter said and almost choked on a piece of apple.

Tony chuckled. “Won’t be for a while and it’s up to you if you want it. It’s not an obligation, you know. You could find your own Pepper Potts and have someone else run it if you prefer. I rather you do what you want than what you think I want you to do so--”

Peter had sort of forgotten about how Tony had broken the news to him what felt like ages ago even though it hadn’t even been a full year yet. He’d forgotten how Tony told him that he would inherit everything as if that had been the right way to let him know that Tony was his father. Since then, Peter hadn’t really thought about it or the reality of what it actually meant which meant that it was overwhelming information to take in.

“I -- that’s--”

“What, did you forget that I’m Tony Stark? You’re my heir, kid, to this whole crazy company and whatever else I’ve accumulated.”

“But what if -- what if you and Steve have kids?” Peter asked.

It wasn’t something he’d considered before that moment, but wasn’t that what people did after they got married? They went and had kids. Peter was aware that Tony and Steve were both men but there were ways around that -- surrogacy or adoption or other weirder things. It was possible. Peter didn’t know if -- well, he didn’t know if he’d be thrilled about it if they did have kids. He felt weird even just thinking about it.

“Not really something we’ve discussed,” Tony said and he seemed to notice that Peter seemed uncomfortable. “And even if we did decide to have kids it wouldn’t be for a long while, Pete.”

“Oh,” Peter said. But they could still have some even if Peter was fully grown when they did--

Tony grabbed his hand. Tony’s hand was warm and familiar and Peter allowed himself to calm down. “Peter, you’re my kid. I -- I love you, kid. Not something that will ever change. I’ll always be here for you no matter what. Even if Steve and I adopt a hundred kids. You’re still always going to be my son and you’re the most important person in my life.”

Peter hadn’t expected Tony to say that. Those three words. Tony had said them before, he was sure, but Peter couldn’t actually remember. He certainly hadn’t expected them in the moment.

“I don’t think even Steve will want to adopt that many kids,” Peter said.

“If he even wants to,” Tony said with a shrug. “I’m not saying I wouldn’t be opposed to another kid -- it’s just I’d be fine with just you.”

“Oh,” Peter said. “But you didn’t get to raise me. Not really. Don’t you want that -- the whole baby thing?” Peter didn’t really understand why people were so keen on babies. He knew they were cute but they also cried and made messes and couldn’t really do anything and he actually -- he couldn’t see Tony or even Steve dealing with a baby well.

“That doesn’t matter. Clearly, it doesn’t. You’re still my kid, Peter, and as has been established you clearly need me a lot too no matter what your age is.”

Peter nodded. “I kind of do,” Peter said and then because he couldn’t say anything else, “I, um, I love you too, dad.”

He thought that Tony’s eyes got a bit misty at that and Peter realized that he’d never actually said it out loud before. But it was true. It had been true for a while. Peter loved Tony. He loved his dad and everything that he was and did for Peter. He was one of the best people he knew and Peter would forever be glad that he knew who his father was and that it was someone as amazing as Tony Stark.

Do you know any characters in comic books whose physical disability is not erased or "helped" by superpowers? Like Xaviers in a wheelchair but it floats around so he dont experience some struggles, he lives in a mansion full of stairs ffs. I only think of Clint Barton? Maybe heroes that use prosthetics, but also sometimes the prosthetic limb is so super developed and works almost magically that it also seems like theyre trying to make it look super cool but not really disabled.

Or where one starts on the other begins if they are different things at all. That was also mostly an accident as well. A good one because either way it’s his body, it’s his neurology and genetics, and despite the cause it makes him disabled.

Today I got pulled over for the first time for running a red light , when the officer pulled me over, as he was getting off his bike I took my seatbelt off (I know, now that I think of it, it was such a stupid thing to do, but it was my first time being pulled over and I didnt know how to react). So I go to the left and the left and gas it a little bit, I was going like 10 mph as I was taking off, and the light turns yellow, I cross the crosswalk, then the light turns red and I drive under the set of lights.. These 2 bike cops came immediately after me... So long story short, it was my first time being pulled over, I took the seatbelts off, and I ran the red light because there was a guy pulling into a parking stop right in front of me and I was too worried looking around afraid I was going to hit a jaywalking tourists. I know people always think they're right, but I honestly think I didn't do anything wrong here. I got a $25 seat belt fine and a warning for running the red light, which is complete BS. He bullies his mom and sister (always has) and took his moms keys and her car from her and will not return it. I know we are legally responsible for him until he turns 18 which isn't too much longer BUT he is getting worse with everything, my husband has given up on him and just lets him come and go as he pleases and do what he wants (he claims he will kick him out on his bday but no one believes him b/c of many past threats not followed through and his kids know it so they continue to play him), I'm told to stay out of it because he isn't my son yet he is still on MY insurance and driving his mom's car while drinking and smoking pot and continuing not to follow the law with his restrictions either. I can't wait for this ungrateful punk to be out of my house. He constantly badmouths all of us with lies to everyone and blames us when things don't go his way. So I was in an accident last week. It was a minor fender bender and was my first accident in the 9 years of driving I've had. I got a ticket for careless driving from the cop and I only did a small dent in the other car's bumper. My car however took a decent amount of damage and is currently being fixed. Then I saw this white car in front of me, who stepped on his brakes, and as soon as I saw that, I stepped on mines.
