ATTENTION, EMERGENCY PROTOCOL INITIATED. I REPEAT, EMERGENCY PROTOCOL INITIATED.

As it turns out, one of the machines in Sector 2 has suffered severe damage. Fortunately, it is not an extremely vital part of the ship, but the prospect of arriving on Fendaar unharmed and in short time is becoming more and more improbable.

As I am one of the highest ranking mechanics on the ship, I was occupied during most of the cycle with reversing the worst damage. 

As we mended the machinery, we discovered a far more urgent problem: The previously damaged outer hover engine has now come completely shut down, and as a consequence, the SIIR Noxos will steadily become slower, until we will be trapped in the middle of an hostile system with no prospects of receiving help, as we would still be far too far away to contact a ground station on any nearby planet with our communication systems.

There was one way to mend the hover engine into a barely working state, but it would require someone to approach from the outside, which would, in normal circumstances, already be extremely dangerous, and in a state like this, it was highly unlikely that the person performing the repair would come back alive. After a few moments of debate, we decided it would be best to request to speak with the Vitrichl and the rest of the crew to eludicate our situation.

I described the problem in as much detail as possible and informed the crew of our inevitable impending death, to put it shortly. 

"So, basically", the human spoke up. "If noone goes out there to fix the hover engine, we‘ll stop moving eventually and then we‘ll all die either of starvation or of running out of oxygen, or whatever you all breathe."

"Yes, if you desire to voice it in that fashion", I affirmed her statement. "Unfortunately, it is way too dangerous for any of us to go out there, as the survival chances are close to none", I eludicated further. "Possibly, we could still make it far enough to be within communication reach with a nearby planet, but that is also highly unlikely."

Quinn extended her hand upwards. 

"I‘ll do it."

In superman #417, an imaginary story is told of what would have happened if Kal's rocket landed on Mars instead of Earth. He gets found by a warrior race of martians who are so impressed with this baby's strength that the leader adopts him as his son. He lives among them as they conquer other Martian races, and eventually helps them assume control of all of Mars.

But even after being raised by a violent group of Martians, and eventually invading Earth, Kal falls in love with humanity after living in disguise among them for only a couple of days, and when the Martians attack, we get this phenomenal sequence:

So, Kuai Liang.

An example of such a rare phenomenon for MK as character development. We saw him as an impulsive young jerk who doesn't think about the consequences. We saw him broken and broken by the events of his life. We saw him as a mature and wise man who accepted his mistakes and his past.

And he acts like a fucking hypocrite when Bi Han shows up.

What happened, man? What crimes are you accusing your brother of? Was he an assassin and a mercenary in the past? Yes, and so are you, too. You were literally doing the same things in the service of the clan, in the service of Quan Chi, under the leadership of Shao Kahn.

This is incredibly strange, because Kuai literally accuses Bi Han of a lot of terrible things, as if Kuai himself did not do it. As if his friends - Smoke and Scorpion - weren't doing it. They literally did the same things. Or is Kuai still offended by his brother for those words of his at the cemetery "We share blood, but we are not brothers"? Kuai himself was a revenant in the service of Quan Chi, as was Bi Han. Kuai got out of this slavery. And Kuai, better than anyone else, should understand how the mind, will and personality of the resurrected are distorted. He is ready to justify anyone for their crimes - Hanzo, Tomas, Cyrex, finding reservations and justifications for their actions. But when it comes to Bi Han - the same broken, distorted, conquered by the evil will of a necromancer, tormented by wandering through the Netherrealm - Kuai throws accusations at him.

Is Kuai trying to disown his own crimes by blaming his brother and denying him sympathy? Hardly. We saw him as a man who has enough courage to admit and accept his mistakes.

Or maybe Kuai has some personal scores with his brother? It's hard to believe, because Kuai rushed to avenge him. He was really heartbroken by the loss of his brother. He was ready to challenge Shao Kahn himself. People take revenge for those they love, and Kuai clearly loved his brother.

That's why his cruel hypocritical attitude towards Bi Han in MK11 looks so strange and disgusting.

And in fact, there is no clear reason for such behavior. Accusations of assassination and mercenary activities sound incredibly ridiculous from the mouth of a assassin and a mercenary whose friends are assassins and mercenaries.

Get the yellow dude's dick out of your head already and behave properly.

ok,ok,ok. Look I'm completely going FERAL(tm) on main for the idea of a younger shang tsung. Early days dark magic apprentice or just freshly newly becoming a master. Like freshly cursed. Freshly scheming bastard under shao kahns court. You know early days when shang tsung basically betrayed his home realm of earthrealm (srry not srry im retconing back to his og timeline. It makes more sense and is better lore and storywise from him to be from earthrealm and absolutely says fuck you guys im switching to team outworld because shao kahn promised me shit. Oh fuck wait,he trapped me and is using me as a pawn. Oh shit. Oh well,time for scheming) You know like he's been around maybe 90 or 100yrs give or take. His physical appearance is maybe mid late 30s. And he's still trying to get the hang of his cursed to whither and age less he takes the life force/souls of others. (You guys should know by now his curse. But ya know) but yeah. Young/early days courtly sorcerer shang tsung.

Like I'm so down for a PROPPER early days shang tsung that isn't plot convenient for other characters,that isn't changing his whole personality to fit or fill plot holes,that has him actually brash,arrogant,but cunning and very fucking intelligent and dangerous. (He got better with tact over time,look carefully how he carries himself in mk11. And then 12. And see the difference. Mk11 shang is smoldering,tactful,cunning,but poised and courtly. Mk12 shang is a younger,more brash,early days,cocky,more arrogant,less tactful. Bratty even. But he learned to be better thru hardship,war,kombat,torture under shao kahn,etc. So having the idea of him not going thru that. Is interesting to say the least. What consequences would be? If certain trials and tribulations never came to fruition? Like kitana succeeds to take down shao kahn earlier on. Like shang never got tortured by shao kahn. Kitana granted him a little bit more leeway. And due to her not really needing earthrealms help. Liu kang thus never really having that bond quite like they did. A loooot would change. And it would have been more interesting of a plot than what we got. Shang tsung being a bigger threat than ever while simultaneously being the only one person who they could have the snowball chance in hell to defeat maybe shinnok or the gods or even a corrupt fire god liu kang or all three. Like this would be the true deadly alliance. Lao and shang tsung team up anyone?! Helloooo. The blueprint is right there!)

But yeah young,smug,stupud sexy shang tsung.

Im down if the story is written better,if the story is written by competent people. Who care about the characters. The lore. And the game outside of hype and making it a "marketable plushie" (tm)

"Fuck Dominic Cianciolo." - oh, it's been fuck him since that MK11 Sindel retcon. I also haven't forgotten the borderline incestuous writing that Skarlet had surrounding Shao Kahn either. Skarlet's energy was so fucking uncomfortable when it came to that man and I want to know who saw that shit and cleared it.

ESPECIALLY ABOUT SKARLET!!!

Let me be clear, I love Skarlet. She is and will forever be my #1 girl and I want nothing but joy and happiness in her life. Also as a fanfic writer I find picking around in her brain and analyzing her behavior and usage of her sexuality as a survival tool. Also I will live and die by the headcannon that her little "crush" on Shao Kahn is a sick coping mechanism she developed due to the f#cked up environment.

However, with all that said, as much as we love to headcannon away her weird behavior, I do not believe that was Dominic's intentions. I think him writing a complicated woman suffering from very layered childhood trauma that a lot of people latched onto was not in his plan.

Which really makes ya wonder what the hell he was thinking with that kinda sorta incest thing going on, which ONLY happened because she was declared to be Shao Kahn's daughter in a comic HE wrote. So it's not like he just forgot how the two were related since HE WAS THE ONE WHO ESTABLISHED IT AS CANNON!!!

There is so much I could say on this one specific point because I really do hate how he wrote Skarlet. I don't mind the idea of her being a traumatized woman or abuse victim (like I said I actually enjoy the idea of her as a character), but I would have rather she be written by someone who knew how to handle those subjects with care.

Dominic just needs to be banned from writing women in general. This took me forever to notice but he also seems to write in a way that's called something like "Mary vs Madonna" (I may be getting the trope name wrong).

Basically it's when all the "good" women are pure, kind, noble, don't sleep around, and usually are in committed relationships (ie Jade X Kotal) while all the "bad" women are whores, sluts, temptresses, and you know stuff like that (Sindel, Mileena, Skarlet, D'Vorah, all of who either try and get around a lot or are implied to be getting around).

These are just two big issues I have with this guy, but trust me I could make an entire essay on everything I can't stand about his work, especially what he's done with MK.
