what if, and he’s just throwing out ideas here, he gave lucifer a ton of work and made barbatos go on holiday and summoned you to his castle?

it’s barbatos’ birthday. he gets sent off. hearing complaints, diavolo threatens him with two weeks

lucifer weirdly gets hit with a ton of work randomly. damn that’s crazy huh. do your best!!!

and you are summoned to the castle. you also get a bad feeling.

he tries to convince you that having a pact with him is a good idea

if you bring this up to lucifer if he asks about your visit he is so screwed

ah, but maybe he could make you his unwilling partner in crime…?

pulls a lucifer and forces it on you. suddenly you have a big fancy mark around your neck.

he’s pretty proud of it. you cover your face with your hands and go oh my god.

it feels like it could be exasperation but he would really prefer for it to not be that

lucifer asks what diavolo wanted you for and you weakly say it was for new clothes. new clothes that conveniently hide your collarbone

all of this is unraveled when someone (mammon) walks in on you getting dressed and screams bloody murder about the weird MARK on your neck

pacts are permanent and so is diavolo getting lectured

Since MC has pacts with each if the brothers, I head cannon that whenever they use their pact powers their pact mark glows and the symbol of whichever brother's power they're using glows in their eyes. The brother also knows exactly where MC is and that they're using his power.

About pacts

The game is kinda ABOUT the pacts, but somehow I feel like the concept is not fleshed out enough in canon. So I’m fixing that! I am making them so fluffy, I am developing them into the magic QPR bond of my dreams lol

(Brief mentions of blood and sex under the cut, be warned)

Ok so. In the game, the pacts have four key functions: 1, allows the human to give the demon binding orders. 2, gives the human a way to amplify the demon’s abilities and strengths. 3, implied, gives the demon a way to do the same thing for the human, to lend them their own strength. 4, allows the human to summon the demon basically for free. Have him on speed dial, I suppose. Summon with no ritual, no spell components, no nothing except an incantation.

That’s cool, I like that. But like,, iirc the game says nothing of the mechanics of this, or how the pacts feel!

I think pacts should be a mildly psychic connection. Nothing like what Beel and Belphie have going on, and no actual ability to put words telepathically in your demon’s head (and vice versa), but like… an Awareness of each other, muted and vague when you’re not actively reaching out through the pact, but just enough that like,, you can feel them vaguely in the back of your mind. You know they’re alive, and you can mentally reach for them if you want to.

When you ARE using the pact, it doesn’t HAVE to be for one of the aforementioned four functions. It can also be… just a mild mental ping, like tugging on a string or tapping them lightly to get their attention. When they reach back, the bond opens up a little bit more, to allow the passage of emotions, flashes of memories, even awareness of about how far you are from each other and what direction you’re in. All entirely voluntary, no invasive mind-reading, but you can mentally share what you want with each other.

I feel like the pacts don’t have to imply romance. But, they DO imply partnership—not necessarily exclusive partnership, in fact probably it isn’t an exclusive sort of thing by default. Plenty of demons have multiple humans, and plenty of humans have multiple demons. The sort of partnership that doesn’t really have a standard box to fit into by average human reckoning. Queerplatonic partnership. Close, emotionally intimate, committed, devoted. But not necessarily having anything to do with attraction, romance, any of that.

These pacts can be purposely strengthened, to make communicating with each other like this easier. Strengthening the signal, if you will.

The key to that is two things: emotional intimacy/trust, and sharing vitality (or however you wanna phrase it. Vitality, life, essence, soul, etc. I mean this to encompass a few different things, and none of those words is a perfect fit for all of them. Let’s say there’s an untranslatable word in infernal that fits perfectly). Specifically, the human and the demon make mental contact through the pact with the intent to strengthen the bond, then do whichever of the sharing vitality/essence/life/soul things that they feel like doing.

For example:

Kissing. An emotionally intimate thing to do that involves sharing fluid. DNA counts as essence, and this is a way of combining it. A textbook, effective way to reinforce a close bond. Doesn’t even strictly have to be romantic! It CAN be for sure, and usually is, but like… you can also kiss the homies out of platonic affection if you want to. Especially if the homies in question are demons in a pact with you. This is normal and chill to them.

Also, simply sharing the same air! Pressing foreheads together (think keldabe kiss minus the helmets), noses touching (i think this is called kunik). Sharing breath. This absolutely counts as sharing vitality. Also, afaik this is a thing people would only have the instinct to do with someone they really love. It’s such a soft, peaceful thing that doesn’t make sense in any other context but trust and devotion and emotional intimacy. Super good way of reinforcing a close bond!

Obviously sex works for this too. Obviously. It ticks all the boxes: reinforces a close bond, combining vitality/essence, can be very emotionally intimate. Probably the most textbook option.

In the other direction, possibly not quite as expected but totally works if you think about it: bloodshed. I’m sure it’s common enough in the ritually combining blood sort of way, but also… think about fighting at your pacted demon’s side, or getting wounded and then being rescued (seems more likely, especially in part 1), and both of you bleeding. Physically supporting each other, spilling your vitality onto each other, each wiping blood off of the other and patching each other up in the aftermath of an altercation. Really, you can’t get more devoted and trusting than that.

Food, as well. Taking a bite of something, then feeding a bite to your pact partner. Your food is the source of your vitality, in a similar way to breath. It’s your life. Sharing food with this intent absolutely works. It works even better if it’s food you made, and/or familiar food that you love in such a way that it’s part of your identity. That way, it works twofold. The physical effect of metabolizing the food is your vitality, and the identity aspect—feeding a loved one something that resonates with who you are—is sharing your essence/soul.

This one’s a bit of a reach, but I think it still works—tears. Experiencing something that makes both pact partners cry, be it a sad story, an emotional conversation, painful events, etc. Supporting each other through that, feeling compassion for each other, comforting each other. There’s no shortage of intimacy, devotion, and trust in this. On both an emotional and physical level, this counts as sharing soul/essence/life.

Sharing soul/vitality/essence/life (whatever the fitting word for this in infernal would be) on purpose like this would absolutely bring pacted partners closer together. Strengthens the bond between them, helps them understand each other, reinforces the love. Strengthen a pact enough and eventually you won’t even need the incantation to summon that demon.

Pact Marks- Obey Me Thoughts/Headcannons

So in one of my recent posts, I showed where I imagine My MC- or Mackenzie's pacts marks are.

For those who are new or just unfamiliar with this topic somehow, Pact marks are what the fandom of Obey Me! Shall We Date?! has basically agreed all on being on each MC when they/he/she makes a pact with one of the demons. I dunno if the creators confirmed that as I am only in lesson 13-14 in the game itself.

Here are my headcannons/thoughts to just have on here✨

Lucifer

(Spoiler, hes the last one to get a pact mark from but not in the least undermining)

Where I imagine his pact mark would be on MC's chest.

Kinda like the phrase, 'Huffing up chest in pride', it shows his shamless pride in allowing the human to make a pact with him.

Considering how possessive Lucifer tends to be towards MC, in a "This is my human" way, his mark is the biggest, maybe even boldest as its even able to peak over MC's collar bones, making any non-turtle neck like shirt unable to cover it all.

It glows his signiture blue when activated, bright and unable to be unnoticed either.

And in the dark, a lingering lighter shade trails around the stars, giving a nice ring to the MorningStar name

With my MC, I imagine they aren't afraid to show it, most of their outfits being tank tops, low collar shirts, or even just a sports bra on some nights.

Lucifer sometimes catches MC trailing their finger along its edges, only to shirk their hand down as soon as he notices.

Of course...he smirks, raising a curious brow.

MC just ignores his glances and moves on.

Mammon

He was a an easy one, Ngl.

Look, I adore This little Greed demon with all my heart but he does tend to steal, and gamble, and basically do any money grubbing.

All with swift and talentful hands in his own craft.

His pact mark is on the hand, preferably dominant hand of MC.

Its not too big or too small, just fitting across the back of MC's hand.

When activated, it gives of a nice yellow hue, gold lining the mark's edges in a shifting manner.

My MC tried drawing weird symbols on top of it, human symbols that kids draw on their skin everyday y'know, just to see if anything changed.

It didn't. Just erased whatever they did and glowed like normal.

Mammon called her weird then proceeded to try his turn at it.

Now they needed new pens.

Mammon hated the mark at first, finding it stupid given how it even came to be in the first place.

Now he traces it every night with a curled up MC beside him, clutching onto him as if he isnt holding them tight enough.

Leviathan

He is tricky tricky boy, lemme tell ya.

Either his pact mark worked in spots his brothers' worked better in or it just didnt seem like Levi's spot.

So I figured, under bicep.

The guy is shy, right? So I believe his would ultimately end up somewhere where it's covered the majority of the time, that or just hard to see at most angles.

I did think of thigh, but i suppose the thought it ending up there would have this okaku blushing for days on end.

Which bicep also depends on which arm is MC's dominant one.

My MC, like all her other marks, is proud to have them, so they dont get why it was somewhere mostly hidden.

Hence why it gives them further reason to show it off during their shared movie nights, wearing more sleeveless shirts or tops.

Leviathan is her Lord of Shadows just as much as they are his Henry and they are proud to say it. (Enough without embarrassing the Envy demon of course)

Leviathan turned as flustered as a peach at first anytime he saw it fully, but now...

Now he laughs as MC 'proves' their muscles to him after an off comment he made, flexing off that mark of Envy without even realizing. He just snorts and shoves them lightly, a domino effect taking hold as they do it right back.

Beelzebub

Did I even need to think on this guy?

The tongue is wear his mark resides.

Not only for the obvious, Ahem Gluttony, but because the tongue is known to be the strongest muscle in the body.

It tends to blend in with the color of their tongue but mostly when its activated.

Oo, imagine MC eating a cherry flavored treat, the glow would just light the whole thing up. Light bulp idea if MC is ever in the dark and lost.

Ahem, anyway, as mentioned, it glows a fiery red, making MC's mouth looking like light up city when even just a little bit opened.

My MC had at one point thought her mouth was bleeding when she saw in it the mirror, had to have Beel explain they were indeed fine, if anything, looked cool.

Both her and Beel test out how bright it can get depeding on cherry flavored treats when gorging in food one night.

Beel cant help but blush at the sight of his unactivated mark as MC sucks their tongue out at him, having just won a victorious round. A game Levi lended them for a bit.

He hms, pats their head lightly, and mutters 'cute'. MC is left confused, their tongue still poking out in a blep.

Asmodeus

So...HAHA- So many people thought my MC's mark from Asmo was on their bottom.

While I would not be surprised, given this man, I headcannon their mark being a tramp stamp.

Right above their bottom.

Its not big, barely taking all over their lower back. But enough to give off a big enough glow when activated.

When activated, the pact will glow a saturated pink, a tease of purple easing into the 'ink.'

Ngl, I got this idea after reading another headcannon list of Obey Me Pact Marks and thought it was too good to not keep.

Its somewhat easy to hide, depending on the type of clothing MC wears, but it quickly becomes hard to cover ehen activated, the pink being too bright.

Asmo calls them his little firefly at some point

As for my MC, she gets flustered, never thinking a pact mark would be that low. But after catching a wink from Asmo, they turn gears and smirk instead, thankful for their wild and long hair hiding the pink in their ears as they clap back quick with some remark.

Asmo just chuckles at whatever she said.

Teasing hands, always playful but never pushing, linger down at the edge of MC's shirt only for it to turn into a tickle over his mark. MC squeaks out, laughter pulling over as they skirt away, clutching their lower back.

Asmo takes their playing shoves with a smug grin, gleaming with absolute delight as he catches one at last, landing a sweet kiss at their knuckles.

Satan

Similar to Lucifer

Satan would hate me I know it

But yes, dreadfully similar to Lucifer, Satan's mark is big and bold, appearing right under where Lucifer's(At the time he never knew that of course).

It lays across the lower ribs, that tip of it? Its lined up to go straight in between both, mark and center.

It is easy to hide, but if MC is one to wear short crop tops, or anyhting that shows close to the lower ribs as mentioned, it wouldnt be hard to miss.

Yet, the mark is impossible to miss when activated, unless you stacked like piles and piles on MC's torso, yeah..that green glow would be seen a mile away.

Its a bright, fiery green, almost oozing into their clothes like Wrath itself would.

Why is it on the ribs? Well, you know that feeling you get when you are angry. That fire in the pit of your chest? The only reason its on the ribs instead is because of how calculating Satan is.

"Imagine how an aggressor would feel if they suddenly saw its glow? They would've turned to rigor themselves without my help"

Are you sure you aint like Lucifer-

My MC played a game of, 'What Can Hide The Mark??' With their closet one day, just curiosity at best.

Yeah, they thought better of it when Satan came a-knocking very confused and very weirded out by the dark light green light game on his side.

Theres a weird, fizzy feeling Satan gets anytime he saw the mark in a more direct manner. Their shirt riding up as they slanted on the couch, at the beach, anywhere were he got less of a tease of it and more of a frontal view.

It wasnt made out of hate for his brother, it wasnt even a half-assed one either, it actually meant something, to both him and MC.

Hmm....Satan's eyes fliker back down, escaping MC's sudden gaze, a little heat on his cheeks going ignored in favor for catching up with this novel's protagonist.

Belphegor

So......I may or may not have accidentally put Belphie's mark on Mc's neck.....

Chapter 16 anyone?

BUT- BUT Then it gave me an idea!

So while we arent exactly sure the marks would be chosen by the brother's preference, or MC's preference, I think its just up to what the fans think-

What if it was kinda an accident itself?

Like obviously, at the time of the pact between the youngest brother and Mc was made, the events of Mc/not Mc's death was still fresh to everyone. Hence the whole, making a pact to protect Mc from Belphie.

And since it was still in everyones minds for a while, the mark accidentally formed in the one place everyone, including MC had a hard time looking at without getting chills.

It could be many possibilities from this, but it also can give MC enough motivation to work it out with Belphie, wanting to make the mark not one to look at in digust but instead at least a gentle fondness like the others. Obviously the last part might take a long while to come, but they would at least be able to ease the pain of it.

Anyhow- the mark is pretty dang small compared to the others. Small and barely noticable depending on how MC's hair style is.

When activated, it glows a nice lilac hue, the edges dipped in a very light, almost white color. It can almost be mistaken for a night light, like those ones for children, if it wasn't on MC's body.

If covered with a turtle neck for instance, its dimmed but not completely, still vying for attention.

I do believe MC would have at least some sort of trauma towards it, like cant have people touching around their neck for awhile. Even if Lucifer were to cup their chin, their nerves start a-ringing.

I like to imagine my MC doesn't necessarily get over it, but is able to move past it. Shes one to not let things affect them, but obviously with seeing yourself and feeling youself die is extremely hard to do for a human, so its more or less them just wanting to stop feeling so weak at the idea. So she asks Lucifer or Satan (the two most likely to understand it) in private to help her by gently edging their hands around her neck area sometimes so she can at the very least, emotionally move past it.

Exposure therapy( But this is for my MC, I definitely believe people have a right to decide how they/their characters wpuod respond to the whole thing as everyone seems to either forgive Belphie, take a long time to do so, or just want their character to avoid him)

It takes him a loose second to realize, but when he does, Belphie is quick to snatch away his hand from MC's upper torso. Hes hesitant to even toss it back around their waist. But MC, despite their sleepy and craving for warmth state, takes note of his sudden distance and tightens their grip around his shoulders, effectively dragging him snug against their body.

They murmer reassurances before he can even breathe a single word, and hes burrying his face in their shoulder, the one beside his own mark. Tears sting his closed gaze and their wading soft fingers their his hair. A kiss to the side of his head is all he needs and he wrapps his arms back around, agreeing like aways.

Gentle forgiven but never forgotten...

One headcanon I have is that each pact first appeared on a point on MC's body. But after the pact with Lucifer, all 7 become one giant pact on their back. It's one gigantic inserted pentagram, with 5 pacts between the star arms, one in the middle, and the gigantic one holding them all together is Lucifer's pact. Because he's the protector, the one who brought them together, who keeps them together, to keeps them safe.

I also really like this and similar artistic depictions I’ve seen! It’s beautiful and symbolic to Lucifer’s role and the brothers sticking together.

~Pact marks~

Diavalo- Dias pact mark is LARGE, I imagine it would cover the entirety of one of your arms, like a sleeve tattoo and would expand onto your shoulder and a little down on your side. I imagine the design to be swirly like in the way flames dance at a bonfire. When the mark first appeared you felt a comforting warmth spread wherever the mark was.

Barbatos- Barbatos' would be on the lower back because I like to think that when things get too hectic Barb will put his hand on your lower back and lead you away. It would be in the shape of an hourglass but on its side.

Lucifer- Lucis would be on your wrist right where you can feel your pulse. I feel it would in the shape of a star since one of his titles is "The morning star"

 

Mammon- Mammons would be big but definitely not as big as Diavalos. I like to think it would cover half of your chest and goes down to your sternum. I think the pattern would resemble feathers since his familiars are crows.

Leviathan- Levi's would start at your ankle and traval all the way up your thigh. It would look like a tail coiling around your leg and when the mark first appeared it felt like something was coiling around your leg.

Satan- Satan's mark looks like a thick vine with thorns that goes all the way around your waist. 

Asmodeus- Asmos pact mark would be on your abdomen where your womb would be (even if you don't have one) it would resemble the markings succubi have but with clear differences. I feel like it would spell out Asmos name but in such a way you wouldn't be able to tell unless you looked really hard.

Beelzebub- Beel's mark would be on the side of the neck in the shape of a spiders web

Belphegor- Belphies would be in between your shoulder blades and would look likes clouds almost covering the moon.

Finished the first design! So, what is it?

For a long time I had an idea in my head that what if...MC could literally use weapons from pacts? Like a little bit of their power

Every weapon matched the demon who the pact belongs to

MC would be literally taking the weapon out of the pact

Then a little bit later on I saw Lucy from anime Fairy Tale and she had the most close ability to what I was thinking of for MC! So I also was inspired to take idea of also creating an outfit that will appear each time MC takes out the weapon

BUT there's one thing!

To different MCs the closes and weapon is mix of their style and style of the brothers so it will be different for different MCs

Pact Headcanons Pt.1

Idk if this is technically headcanons or just user speaks so I’ll tag both but it’ll be under the headcanons tab in my masterlist (might put under both if this gets like 0 notes) I’m gonna make 2 because this one got kinda long.

Ok so first headcanon is that neither the pact holder, nor the demon choose where the pact mark goes. It will place itself based off the demon’s sin, the history between the two, and the connection they had when the pact was formed

Mammon’s would be on the back because as your first man, he’s your protector who always has your back. His sin also played a part because he usually goes behind people’s backs to scam them. Also, I feel like he’s just the type to find comfort in having a hand on your back. It also reminds you that he’s there. It is also the largest pact mark of them all, covering almost your entire back

Leviathan’s would be somewhere on the lower leg, possibly even the ankle that got hurt in the TSL quiz, since the pact happened pretty much right after that. Being the shy, envious, demon he is, it puts itself low on your body and it always seems like to be looking up at the other marks. It’s relatively small because it has to fit on a smaller space

Beelzebub’s would be right above the stomach where the rib cage starts to separate. Obviously it’s on the stomach for gluttony, but also very close to the heart because after you guys made your pact it all changed. He started seeing you as family and probably swore on his life to protect you and his mark. It’s probably about the size of your hand flattened out, fingers together

Asmodeus’ mark is right below the belly button, but not reaching into your privates. It’s the smallest pact mark of all seven, but the only one that has a little sparkle to it💖. It's by the waistline because of his sin, but not invasive because of his respect for you. He made his pact with you after you first showed your power in the catacombs against Henry 1.0

Satan's mark is on the back of your left hand. Of course it would be on a fist because of his sin, but after going through so much to switch Lucifer and him back to their own bodies, he wants to stay by your side. HC Satan is also left handed (because opposite Lucifer) and he likes playing with yours🥺.

Belphegor's is gonna hurt some of y'all but the front of the neck down to the collar bone. Y'all made your pact like a week after that all happened, it couldn't have been forgotten just yet. He seriously considered breaking the pact immediately as soon as it showed up and became a permanent reminder to both of you. With some time and reassurance though, he came to think of it like a necklace that insured your trust in him😩😩. It's about the same size as Beel's mark, maybe a little smaller.

Lucifer's precious mark is on the back of your right hand, much to Satan's dismay. You had figured it was because of him being Diavolo’s right hand man, that also being the hand be places on his chest. In actuality, he wanted to become your right hand man after being the last of his brothers to form that bond with you.

I also see their pact marks being their represented color (Lucifer’s is blue, Mammon’s is yellow, etc) I also HC that they glow when MC uses their power or starts feeling their sin. 

The brothers can also feel when their pact is being used or when they are using their sin. The other brothers can feel it as well but not as strongly as the main. Basically, all the brothers can feel a little burn/their demon form trying to break out when MC is getting cocky and prideful, but Lucifer is fighting for his life to not go feral demon mode on a rampage. Same goes for every other sin.

I’m gonna end this one here, but I am immediately writing my part 2 after this is on my masterlist. Part 2 will be more about MC’s powers and what they can do with their pacts. (It’s up!)

The Demon Bro's Pact Marks

Demon Bro's Pact Marks: The Pros and Cons of each one in order of pact.

Mammon

When Mammon makes a pact with you, of course, it wasn't in the best circumstances

But after a while, your pacts become a symbol of companionship and trust

I think your pact would be in the palm of your hand because Mammon probably LOVES holding your hands

Along with that, I'm not gonna feed into the golden glow pact ideal, I would think the pact would be a shining silver that has a blue tint

A pro of this pact is that whenever you're in trouble or in need of Mammon's help, it burns his skin and it doesn't stop until he finds you, almost like a compass

You probably also find grimm or human money wherever you are due to it

Con's, if Mammon's in trouble, your pact mark will burn, but since you're human, it hurts a lot more

Luckily, you get a boost of luck, because, you know, greed

Leviathan

Okay, I don't want to feed into the propaganda, but what if his pact mark was near or on your ankle

Not for any real reason other than the fact that he loves draping his tail on top of it or wrapping his tail around it

I feel like because Levi is the admiral general, people can sense that pact and they stay the fuck away

I also like to think that his pact glows green with envy whenever you feel envious of someone or something

Now a major con of this is that now you feel envious of almost everything

Even if you don't care about it or like it or even know about it you just feel envious

But a major pro is that now you can interact with sea life and they won't immediately try to kill you

So if you like animals that's plus

You also feel a lot stronger with Levi pact, it's mainly thinking that you're strong so it's more of a mental thing

I like to think, similar to Mammon, whenever you are having fits of rage or need his help, he gets pulled towards you and it hurts like a bitch

I also think that is pact is very visible, like somewhere on your arm or on your shoulder

This one shines the brightest and it only shines when you are ready to kill someone, or at a mild inconvenience and is the only pact that'll glow through clothing so everybody knows

Of course, now we have our Lucifer

I won't lie to you, if Belphie's on your ass and Satan's on your arm, his covers your back

And I'm talking about all of it

You (if you wear bikinis) will never be able to hide it when you go out (for our shirtless peeps, you were never trying to hide it in the first place)

I think his pact would be on your back just because of his trauma of losing a set of wings

Because I know it's gotta fucking hurt when you feel your appendages get torn off

I would also like to think that his doesn't glow at all

Which is strange but neither of you questions it at all

You 100% feel so much more proud when you accomplish something that you really wanted to do well, small things sorta have the same effect but not when you do something you really love

Drawbacks of this are major back pain, waking up in cold sweats, remembering Lucifer's memories, feeling 100% more disappointed if you did something not so well

You also have to keep water on you at all times

Lucifer told you to but you have no idea why

So I want to babble about somethin real quick: Why when designing or talking about Pact Marks for Obey Me, why are they always in small spots? Or like super simple? Why wouldn't they be more than that? (more below the line)

I have a WIP of me (attached below) with two distinct pacts; Satan's and Lucifer's (and Barb's on the neck). Please ignore how unfinished this is (and how weird the face is lmao)

Just hear me out for a minute: Y'all really think Lucifer, the avatar of PRIDE, would give you a small mark? I feel like he'd want it to be super obvious and visible, something you could show off. Satan would do the same, just to spite Lucifer. I feel like the pact marks would typically be something that, in the human world, could pass as tattoos (given they might be weird tats, like my Satan one for example). I also feel like the pact makers could change them. For example, we'll use the one I made for Satan again. I could see him changing the type of cat or the size of the dark ink--maybe even based on mood, in his case anyway.

This isn't just about those two though; you think that any of the seven lords would be okay with something small (okay maybe Beel/Belphie would be okay with it--and maybe Levi). I could see Mammon making some sort of elaborate raven design that has golden elements to it. Asmo would make sure it was something super pretty; something to reflect the Avatar of Lust's view of himself.

I know in the game that Diavolo and Barbatos don't have a pact with MC but I like the idea of having one with them. Dia would make it something formal; so his might be simple like the royal crest or something. Barbatos's mark would be small but decorative.

I dunno I just wanted to talk about it because I have seen so many posts about pact marks lately; which I love PLEASE don't take this as me hating on anyone. So, I wanted to talk about this. Please if you have any thoughts let me know! I'd love to hear them!! :)))

Bonding

(Takes place at some point shortly after Auva pacts with Beel. After the events of ‘Tsundere Nonsense’)

I wrote a thing about these pact headcanons! Extremely sappy fluff. Brace yourself lol

Auva sits atop the kitchen counter near the cutting board, idly swinging her feet as she chats with Beel and Mammon about the upcoming retreat.

Beel distractedly replies to them, as he devotes most of his attention to slicing and peeling a Devildom citrus of some kind. It’s large and round and purple. It’s constructed like an orange, and it’s sour-sweet-refreshing kind of like an orange, but with a different flavour. It has a proper name, but Auva insists on referring to it as a purple.

Beel cuts a fruit segment off the peel and hands it to her.

“Levi was complaining about the timing earlier, something about a character’s birthday? I said I’d help him out with packing later today because he’s gonna bring a whole bunch of his figurines with him t—wh? For me?” Auva says in surprise, looking between the purple fruit segment in her hand and her friend who put it there. She has NEVER seen Beel share his food with anyone before!

“Mmhm” Beel nonchalantly replies, humming his confirmation through a mouthful of purple citrus.

Stunned and touched at his seemingly automatic—but wildly uncharacteristic—generosity towards her, she pops the piece of fruit into her mouth. Slices of purple have never tasted so good before.

Auva leans over and hugs Beel’s free arm as she chews. “Thank you..!”

Beel smiles at her, then perks up as if he’s had an idea.

Auva feels her pact bond with Beel stirring awake in the vague un-space in the back of her mind. He’s reaching for her. Auva reaches back, making the mental contact to open up their pact bond. It feels like holding his hand, except… closer, warmer, because it’s really their souls making contact.

Auva receives a gentle pulse of ‘protectiveness-affection-friendship-softness’ from Beel, sent directly into her mind. Auva replies ‘warm-soft-appreciation-devotion-affection’, far more clumsily. Less practiced. Still, it works. Beel receives the emotions she means to share with him, letting an echo of it reverberate back through the bond to her so she knows he heard her.

Beel takes a bite of another fruit slice. Leaving one regular human bite sized piece of it instead of eating the whole slice at once. Auva doesn’t have time to wonder why before Beel feeds her the remaining piece.

She swallows it, and the pact bond seems to spark to life! Suddenly, it feels less like holding his hand, and more like being hugged. The emotions Beel shares with her are clearer this time. His soul wraps lovingly around hers and they blend together, the lines between them blurring and melting. It feels so close. Understanding Beel is suddenly easier than breathing. It’s the most intimate connection she has ever felt in her life.

She gets ‘fondness-loyalty-warmth-small human-promise to catch you-promise to feed you-grow healthy and strong-give you bites of my Life-I love you’ from him. Not quite in words, but the sentiment is fully conveyed. The new clarity to their bond is incredible, and the sentiment he conveys to her touches her deeply.

Without a thought, she sends back ‘aww, Beel-would die for you-I love you-big precious friend-appreciation-devotion-loyalty-I love you-I love you-I love you’ to him. Also without words, but the sentiment is completely understood.

Beel puts down the knife and the piece of empty citrus peel so he can wipe off a drop of juice from her face. With one final gentle pulse of ‘warmth-love-devotion’ from him, their bond goes still and dormant again. Her soul is once again hers alone.

“Woah… what WAS that?” Auva breathily asks.

“Strengthening our pact,” Beel answers, fondness subtly colouring his tone of voice.

Auva can’t help but think she must be able to pick up on that now because of that experience. She feels like she understands him a bit better now, having just had their minds linked more closely than ever before in that incredible moment of connection.

Beel picks up the knife again, and a new fruit. He returns to slicing and snacking.

“That’s a thing we can do?” Auva asks, fascinated.

“Sure can,” Mammon finally chimes in. He gets up from leaning against the wall and approaches her. “Here.”

Mammon cups her jaw carefully in one hand, then tenderly touches their foreheads together. He holds them there for a long moment, stroking her cheek with his thumb as he reaches for her through their pact.

Auva reaches back to Mammon. Mentally taking his offered hand.

They breathe together, sharing the same air. Sharing the same breath. This time, the pact bond opens up gradually, pulsing in time with their slow breaths like a flickering candle, until their back and forth exchange of ‘love-trust-devotion-best friend-mine-precious’ becomes clear and strong. Less like a conversation with turns, and more like harmonizing.

As their vitality blends together, Auva feels surrounded by him, wrapped up in his energy like a blanket, thoroughly warm and loved. She feels him languidly pouring ‘affection-care-endearment-protectiveness’ into her mind. She feels ‘mine-I love you-anything for you-my human-stay close to me-I love you’ from him.

Wordlessly, Auva replies ‘would follow you anywhere-I love you-feel safe together-I’m home-I love you-my Mammon-want you to be happy-I love you-stay close to me-would give you the world-I love you’, trying to give him the same warmth right back.

After a minute, Mammon pulls back. The intense connection fades back to normal.

Auva stares at him in awe, and he smiles at her, all glassy-eyed and soft. He taps her nose fondly, then takes a step back.

He clears his throat—as if to banish any hints of emotion from his voice before he speaks—and rubs the back of his neck the way he always does when he’s embarrassed.

“Pretty cool, huh? It’ll make usin’ the bond easier—OI, easy, human!” Mammon had tried to act cool and chill, but gets suddenly cut off by Auva hopping down from her seat on the kitchen counter and nearly bowling him over in a very enthusiastic hug.

“What the fuck Mam, we could have been doing that the whole time, what the fuck, I love you so fucking much!!” Auva says directly into Mammon’s shirt where her face is smushed against him.

Mammon quickly softens again, immediately returning the hug. Who does he think he’s kidding? “I… yeah, alright. I love ya too, or some shit…”

In perfect sync, Auva and Beel roll their eyes and huff an identical soft laugh at Mammon.

(Her mind buzzes excitedly as it drifts to her other pact partner, Levi. Did he know about this too?? It’s incredible, she’s TOTALLY gonna do this with him too when she meets up with him later!! She can hardly wait!)
