wip wednesday very late on thursday lol
so since coming back from my brother's nearly two weeks ago, I've actually been working on doing a podfic reading of don't dream it's over. he's a massive star wars fan (more than I am, that's for certain!), but he's always struggled with reading books and vastly prefers audiobooks that he can listen to while he's doing other things.
anyway, I got an idea for a cover image for the story last night and have spent most of this afternoon grabbing all my references, putting them into procreate and coming up with this base idea.
in the background we have Maul and Sith!Obi-Wan, separated by Maul's lightsaber blade (ngl, I'm really pleased with how Maul looks in this sketch, it makes extensively staring at Ray Parks' face for about two hours in order to get his facial markings correct worth it lmao).
in the midground are Satine and Korkie, and for the eagle-eyed - yes! that line on Korkie's neck is in fact the scar he gets from the attempt on his life towards the end of chapter 3.
and in the front we have the man himself, Obi-Wan, with his lightsaber held between his hands with the Force. I was going to have him deconstructing it and showing the kyber crystal inside, but that's too much for just this base sketch.
the canvas colour itself in the final piece will most likely be a mixture of black, dark blue and specks of lighter blues and white, like the expanse of the night sky.

Lost In The Woods
Anakin skywalker x Reader
Summary: sometimes his looks can cause you to follow along to his crazy plans
Warning: forest sex
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yn/3rd person pov
It was like being stuck in an endless loop the forest had no being or end, the tall trees disrupting the communications.
the soft sloshing of mud under our feet being the only thing you could hear I was furious how do I always get dragged into his stupid decisions how can I not say no to his stupid......dreamy face wait... what are you thinking he's dreamy his... a... idiot yeah an idiot.
I shook my head trying to get me to stop thinking about him "you ok there yn" aww his voice it made my heart want to melt... get your act together yn "fine" I muttered briefly turning my head to the side looking back at him as he trailed along behind me "anything from obi wan" he asked catching up beside me I rolled my eyes internally "nothing" I growled and gasped as he caught my wrist, pulling me to him "what is your problem" he said as his piercing blue eyes stared down into mine.
The height difference made me want to shrink back and disappear "answer me" he growled bringing his face closer to mine I gulped as my eyes flickered between his eyes and lips is he a good kisser? Does he think of kissing me "i-i" I had no words to speak was I really angry at him or more my self for following him? His presence confuses me "i-i isn't an answer, yes I get it i messed up and got us lost but doesn't mean you can be a bitch to me" my eyes snapped to his as he spoke, he waited for me to speak but when I didn't he just sighed and let me go and carried on walking without another word.
I internally slapped myself and sighed out before following a bit behind him and continued the walk in silence. We walked in till the sun was started to set and found a nice clearing to spend the night and like a unspoken conversation I went to collect the firewood and anakin went to found some fish in the near by river, I gathered the basics and started building the fire and later lit it and sat close by the flickering flames keeping myself warm as I waited for anakin to return. The forest was quiet except for the crackling of flames the shadows started growing closer as the night progressed I was starting to worry.
"Ani" I called out at any sound I heard my breathing started to quicken as I stood up staring into the dark distance "anakin its not funny anymore" I yelled as my legs started to tremble its been almost 2 hours "please come out" my eyes started to glisten as I looked around hopelessly "I'm right here" I jumped turning to him his usual grin plastered on his face but I didn't care and ran to him in embracing him "I was so scared" I whimpered hiding my face in his chest as he chuckled "I'm sorry" he murmured and stroked my hair "I found a imperial base we can raid in the morning for communication I was just scouting it out to make sure it's no threat" he explained and eyed me carefully as I pulled back.
I lazily wiped the small tear the ran down my cheek turning away from him "ok" I murmured and went to sit by the fire I felt awkward and scared I didn't want to make things weird between us we were always friends since he joined the order but over the years a strange tension formed between us "hey I'm ok" he said sitting beside me, I never liked being left alone for to long everyone in the order knew this and master yoda says it's gonna be my down fall it's because when I'm left alone I get lost in my head and over think things and has been some of the cause to our failed missions.
"What's happening in that brain of yours" he asked nudging me softly, I sighed heavily burying my face into my hands "what's not happening in my head" I laughed bitterly "you remember what obi says 'if you let it happen it will happen' he chuckled trying to mimick obi wans voice I glared up at him playfully "we both know sometimes obi wan doesn't know what he's talking about" I giggled remembering the countless times me and anakin proved him wrong "yea but he's old" ani laughed pulling me into his side his chest vibrating with his laughs, was it wrong to want to stay here forever? Just me and him.
"A-anakin" I murmured gazing up at him and admiring as the flames flickered in the mirror of his eyes "yes yn" he said his eyes staring back into mine "i-i wasn't mad at you earlier" I whispered making his brows come together in confusion "I was just f-frustrated with myself" I turned my attention back to the fire "why are you angry with yourself" he asked shifting himself to face me his hand grabbing my own in a comforting manner "I-I was angry at myself for how easy I follow you" I said and trembled as I felt his thumb started to graze over my knuckles as a comforting gesture.
"That's not something to be angry about surely" he tried lighten with the mood, I started to feel blush rise to my cheeks I was being silly "j-just forget about" I said and tried to remove my hand from his but he held tight "I won't forget about it yn" he urged me to continue explaining my behavior and my foolishness started getting into my head you can't tell him he'll just laugh and make fun of you, but he isn't that type of guy right? I stared blankly at the ground as I was stuck in my head, he likes padme he can never like you, I was caught in a daze into I felt his soft lips meet mine.
I stared horrified into his eyes but his were calm and full of care "get out of that brain and talk to me please" he pleaded huskily as he pulled back from my lips "i-i" I blinked trying to process what just happened "y-you kissed me" i was in shock and raised my hand to my lips which were kinda puffy from the kiss he chuckled nervously as he rubbed the back of his head as a slight blush dusted his cheeks "I'm sorry if I step-" he tried to speak but I brought my lips to his again our eyes flattering closed as our lips molded together this was the first time in ages I felt happy and complete and the voices in my head finally stopped.
His tongue slowly pushed into my mouth as his hands guided down my sides to my hips and urged me to move and sit on his lap my heart thumbed with desire as I straddled his lap my hands threaded themselves into his hair as his stayed on my hips "w-wait wait" I panicked an pulled back "what yn" he asked concerned and raised one of his hands to caress my face in worry "what about the rules" I murmured "about padme" my heart broke as I said her name his concern turned into a grin "yn nothing happened or ever will happen between me and padme what made you think that" he chuckled being my face closer to his, I tried turning away but his fingers grasped my chin "were you watching" he murmured I blushed from embarrassment conforming his suspensions making him laugh.
"Your so fucking adorable" he smirked before catching my lips in his once more "ani" I whined as he nibbled on my bottom him, his kiss was starting to get more passionate and rough with each passing second and his hands getting more touchy "god I want to fuck you so bad" he growled out as he moved his lips to my neck sucking harshly out my skin "f-fuck" I whined out squirming in his hold "if you keep moving like that I'm gonna go fucking feral" he hissed into my ear his hands planting my hips down onto his lap to stop me from moving.
"Ani" I moaned as I started to feel my panties dampen, his hands slowly started trailing up my leg and went under the fabric of my clothes, a shiver running up my spine as he stopped at my thigh he pulled back from me and his eyes darkened from lust and hunger he kissed me again as he slowly started pushing me to the ground his big body caging mine to the floor "fuck" he muttered as he ripped off his robes leaving him in nothing but boxers "anakin" I squeaked my heart almost beating out my chest as I looked over his body "like what you see" he teased making the blush come back to my cheeks he laughed at my reaction and started kissing my neck again as his hands started working on getting my clothes off.
My body heating up as I felt his hands touched my skin my hands threaded through his hair forcing his lips into my skin I want him, I need him "ani I need you" I moaned throwing my head back and heard him growl lowly "all you had to do was ask" he roughly ripped off my underwear and his and my mouth gaped at his size he was huge "fuck" I muttered biting my lip "it's all your" he growled moving his body closer to mine his cock teasing my pussy lips "please anakin" I begged and winced as he slowly pushed in the stretch causing me to cry out "fuck so t-tight" he groaned as he fully pushed in and waited for me to adjust.
"Y-you can move" I murmured and before he did he leaned down to my ear "that's a good slut" he growled before thrusting roughly into me "f-fuck ani" I cried out as my fingers dug into the forest floor with each thrust he forced moans out of me, his hands wondered to my breasts playing and pinching the nibbles "aww I can't wait till these are big when your pregnant" he groaned his head tilting back I gasped "what" "do you think I'm gonna pull out slut your mine now and I want everyone to know" he chuckled darkly as he quicken his thrusts.
My heart flattered as he said those things "would you like that everyone knowing that I own you" he muttered I nodded eagerly and started moving my hips back into his making him yell out in pleasure "such a good slut for me" he groaned and used one of his hands to rub my clit "and good sluts get to cum so cum when I get to 1" he murmured his eyes piercing mine "10" he started kissing my breasts leaving hickies along my chest "9" my breathing started to quicken as I felt a knot start to form in my stomach "8" I closed my eyes and my mouth formed an o shape "7" his thrusts started to faulter as his cock started to twice.
"6-6" my moans started getting high pitch as I felt the knot tighten "5...4" my body started to spasm and tense underneath him "3" his groans and growls were louder and his breathing rigid "2" he yelled out "1" I screamed out as I cam my body shaking as he coated my insides with his cum I panted as I tried calming down "thank you" he sighed out pecking my lips and carefully flipped us over so he was on the ground "a-aren't you gonna pull out" I whispered and shivered as I felt a cold breeze on my back "nope" he grinned grabbing his torn robes and covering the both of us I cuddled into his chest and we both sat in silence watching the fire burn
"I love you yn I hope you know that".

Jang x oc 2
I havent told him yet. Its been three days after the exam. The day I was going to tell him Obi-Wan came to visit. He recognized me right away. He is my ex and the reason the order kicked me out. "Iris what are you doing her? How have you been?" He asked going to hug me when I force pushed him back. "I am here with my husband and son. I am doing well why are you here?" I said staring him down.
"There was an assassination attempt on Padme. I have reason to believe they are here on Kamino." He said crossing his arms. "The spoild brat sill has people after her. Well now can't say I'm surprised *laughs*" his eyes narrow at me. "I see exile has sharpened your tongue." This made me look at him. "Lets not forget who put me in exile Obi-Wan." I said before walking away. "I tried to stop them Iris. I still love you as I did the day we met." That shocked me but I can't be with him anymore. "I'm not the same person anymore Obi I'm sorry." I said not looking back. I only called him Obi when I knew something. It was a habit that I thought was kicked. When I entered our apartment Boba hugged me. "Help mommy to the couch." I said as he took my hand. When we sat down Jango came out of the refresher. Boba got up to answer the door. "Mom dad someone is here to see you." I knew who it was. I stood by Jango having an arm around Boba. "So I take it this is your husband and son. My your taste in men has been altered a bit." He had a jealous tone. "Why would you care who she married. Last I checked you people exiled her. She was free to do as she wished." Jango said before kissing me. I think Obi-Wan got the message. He looked sad heartbroken he feels how I felt all those years ago. "Have you recently been to Coruscant? A assassin was force choked befor teling us who sent her to kill Padme. The senator for Naboo." He eyed us skeptically "we have been here on Kamino. Once they have enough DNA we will be moving to a quiet place. We want to raise a family." Jango said calmly. "Well I wish you both the best." He said leaving.
"Boba pack your things. You and your mother get to the ship. " Jang said before looking at me. I knew it wasn't safe here anymore. Boba and I got our things. I opened a wooden box that contained my lightsabers. They were curved hilt. I clip them to my belt. "Mother?" Boba asked concerned. "Lets hope I don't have to use them. Lets go your father is waiting." I said rushing out into the rain. Boba got in the ship and strapped in. I sensed Obi-Wan approach. "Stay here your father will be here soon." I said walking out in the rain to fight Obi-Wan. "Iris please we needn't fight. Turn yourself in make this easy on yourself." He said trying to get me to comply but I couldn't do that. "I told you before Obi. I'm not the same person you threw away." I said igniting my lightsabers both a amethyst color. Obi-Wan ignited his blue lightsaber. We started fighting. I force pushed him away from me. While he was regaining his footing I ran at him with a series of slashes. "Iris please listen to me I know I hurt you. But if you continue with him he will hurt others. This isn't the Jedi way we help people not kill them." He said till he noticed my grey eyes that were at one time green. "I'm no Jedi."

FeralObi anon here. How do you come up with these so fast?? Are you an infinite number of ideas and worlds in human-shaped form? I love both of those ideas. The first one kills me tho, Obi gets his first kind touch in years from lil Anakin. Also you can have lil Anakin coming home one day with a skulking, snarling nonverbal murder puppy and saying brightly, "He followed me home, can I keep him?" Schmi thinks this is definitely worse than the time he brought a krayt dragon home.
ah! hello! yes this is the first idea of a feral obi-wan who meets anakin when he's still on tatooine. i will also still do the second idea because like. i liked them equally as much rip me
but i told myself these were going to both be very short snippets and instead this one is uh 2k so i'll post the second one tomorrow instead of tonight!
(ficlet where obi-wan is captured by pirates/unspecified forces at a young age and then tortured for a decade before he escapes to tatooine when anakin is like 6. obi-wan, after a decade of torture is....not alright in this fic though he's only here at the end) (2k)
Shmi had known that when she sent her little Anakin away to follow after the stern-faced, warm-eyed Jedi Master, that this would not be the last time she ever saw her boy. She couldn’t explain how she knew, just as she had not been able to explain how she became pregnant, but she knew beyond a doubt that one day, she would see her little boy back in her arms.
She just hadn’t known it would be so soon.
“He died, Master Jinn died,” Anakin mumbles into the front of her dress, unwilling to move his head far back enough from her hug that he could talk clearly. “On Naboo. And the stupid Jedi council refused to train me even after I was so amazing in the air. Mom, I destroyed a blockade! Entirely! And they wouldn’t--they didn’t--” his little face scrunches up and then he’s bawling into his hands.
A slave, a born slave, knows intrinsically the injustice of the galaxy. It is not often they know hope.
“Oh my boy,” she whispers, smoothing a hand over the top of his head. She has questions. She has so many questions about everything he’s just said and what those strangers have put her son through, but the most important thing is a question she cannot wait until he has cried himself out to ask. “Is your chip gone, Ani? Did they remove your transmitter?”
Because she had sent him away from her so that he could be free. And that had been her own twisted version of hope, that her son could know a life she never would again. If the Jedi masters had proven to be just like every other master in the world, she would find herself sobbing into her own hands.
“Yeah,” Anakin sniffles and wipes at his ruddy cheeks, pulling back a few steps. “They removed it and everything. And--”
He pauses and drops his satchel to the ground in front of her. “They gave me credits. To buy you. For my trouble.”
He spits out the last three words like they’re the most disgusting thing in the entire world. As if Shmi’s freedom isn’t laying at their feet, mere centimeters away.
“Republic credits are no good here,” she hears herself say faintly.
“Padme, the handmaiden you met, she talked to the queen about me I guess,” Anakin mumbles, kicking his feet. “And when the queen learned that the Jedi didn’t want me even after all that, Padme says the queen says I’ll always have a place on Naboo. Me and my family. And then she took the Jedi credits and gave me these instead. It should be enough, Mom.”
Shmi sits down on the floor. With shaking hands, she opens the bag and looks inside. Yes. Yes.
There’s more than enough.
There’s enough to buy her freedom and take her boy away from Mos Espa. There’s enough to take her boy away from Tatooine completely.
“I…” she says. “Ani, I…”
“Padme said she’d send a ship for us,” Ani reports as if their lives are not changing right in front of their eyes. “In two days ‘cause I told her it might take a little bit of time to get Ben to come with us. But we can’t leave without him.”
This is said fiercely and with his arms crossed tightly over his little chest.
Shmi stares at him.
“I’ve already left him once!” Anakin says, stomping his foot. “But that was okay, because I knew you would bring him food and water and stuff. But if we’re both gone, no one’s going to be there for him.”
Shmi bites at her lip. There’s a lot of things happening very quickly right now, and she doesn’t know how to process half of them.
Her son has come back, after only being gone for a week and a half.
He has apparently either endeared himself so much to the queen of Naboo that she was willing to give him the money necessary to buy his mother from slavery and also promise him sanctuary on her planet. He says he’s done this by single-handedly ending a blockade, which is something she just cannot even think about right now.
He has told this queen--queen--that he will gladly live on Naboo with his family. Yes. Alright.
His family seems to include his imaginary friend, Ben.
Anakin has been talking about Ben for years now, ever since he was six and a half years old and sent by Watto to retrieve any scraps he could from what looked to be a crashed pod in the Wastelands. She’d let him ramble on about the ghost of a friend, because she’d known it to be something all children go through and experience. She hadn’t thought Anakin a lonely child, not with the friends he made in Mos Espa, but she’d always known that Anakin had a wandering spirit, ill-suited for Tatooine. If he liked to imagine an older man from a strange world hiding in the caves of the Wastes, then she wasn’t going to say anything.
“You have been leaving him food, haven’t you, Mom?” Anakin asks, almost accusatory. “I told him to expect you and everything.”
No. Shmi has not been traveling to the edge of the Wastelands every day during her precious few hours of free time in order to leave food to be picked apart by womp rats and desert critters and not her boy’s imaginary friend.
“Ani,” she says cautiously, quietly, “we cannot...we won’t be able to bring Ben with us when we go.”
Anakin, predictably, does not react well. “Why not!” he yells, backing away from her even further and looking as if she is the enemy. “Padme’s fine with it!”
“Aren’t you a little old for imaginary friends?” Shmi asks desperately, feeling cold suddenly even though the heat of the mid-morning sun has not abated at all.
If anything, her son looks more offended. “He’s not imaginary! Saying...saying that he’s not coming with us...is...is a bunch of poodoo!”
“Anakin!” Shmi gasps.
“Come on,” her boy says forcefully, grabbing at her hand and tugging her towards the door. She gets on her feet reluctantly and has half a mind to pull back just because he needs to learn that this sort of behavior is not okay, war hero or not. “We’re going to buy you from Watto. And then we’re going to go visit Ben!”
---
Buying her freedom takes less time than Shmi Skywalker ever thought it would. It feels distant as well, as if it’s happening to someone else.
It doesn’t help that her Ani is impatient and surly by turn, spilling the coin out onto Watto’s counter and barely waiting for him to finish counting it before he’s looking at the price of renting a four-person speeder parked outside.
“You won’t survive out there on your own,” Watto sneers, even as he’s passing her the kill-switch of her own slave chip. “Days. It’ll be days until the Hutts find out there’s a newly freed slave with no connections out there in the open. Ripe for the pickin’.”
Watto doesn’t have to tell her any of this. She knows. Gods, does she know.
But Anakin seems so sure about possessing the favor of the Queen of Naboo, or at least her handmaiden, which might be close enough to the same thing. She thanks Watto--she thanks him and then doesn’t even know why--and meets Anakin outside.
He’s bouncing around the speeder, little hands clutching his satchel to his chest. “Good!” he says when he sees her, hopping onto the machine and putting the parcel between his feet. “I got Ben something called a fig on Naboo, but I don’t know how long it’ll take for it to go bad. Apparently they’re sweet.”
Shmi goes along with it. Shmi doesn’t know why she goes along with it, but she does. She can see this is important to her boy, and though she’d rather spend the afternoon and early evening saying goodbye to her friends, she will allow Ani to say goodbye to his imaginary friend. Maybe she’ll even talk to it. “Hi, hello, I’m so glad you’ve enjoyed the imaginary blue milk and delicacies I’ve left out for you this past week and half. Oh no, it was no bother. My son insisted.”
The ride is quick--Anakin has always been a driver to push the limits of any engine he comes across--and before she knows it, he’s dismounting on a piece of desert and rock that look exactly the same as the last four pieces of rocky terrain they’ve past.
“Ben!” Ani calls, satchel clutched firmly in his hands as he makes his way deeper into the crevices of the landscape. “Ben, it’s Ani! I’m really sorry that I left! Ben? Ben! I’m back now! Ani’s back!”
It’s actually...quite pathetic, to watch her boy speak so pleadingly to the cold stone faces of the rocks around them, but if this is what he needs to do to say goodbye to his life on Tatooine, Shmi won’t say a word.
“Ben--” Anakin draws in a breath to call again, but then there’s movement out of the corner of Shmi’s eyes, and something jumps from the rock down to land on her boy.
She screams and darts forward, but the thing on top of her son snarls at her in guttural warning.
“No, Ben,” Ani coos, stroking at the face that yes, is human, now that it’s not in unnaturally fast motion. “That’s my mom, Ben.”
Ben--Ben??--growls anyway, pinning the boy--her boy--beneath him with his legs and arms.
“She’s fine,” Ani murmurs gently, one hand reaching up to stoke over the beginnings of a beard on Obi-Wan’s face “Oh Ben, I’m sorry.”
The man on top of Shmi’s child finally looks away from her and at her boy, which is both better and worse.
“Ani,” Ben drawls out, as if the word--or perhaps forming the word--hurts him.
Anakin is happy. Shmi can tell he’s happy without even being able to see much of him. It’s like the very air vibrates with his joy. “Yes!” her son says. “Ani. Ben.” He taps the man’s chest. “Ben. Ani.”
The man buries his head into Anakin’s hair, hands rubbing up and down his sides and his arms and his face.
Shmi needs to say something, wants to say something about this strange man touching boy like he owns him, but the memory of his growl and the flash of his golden eyes stops her from stepping forward.
“Anakin, get away from him,” she hisses instead of stepping forward and tearing the stranger off of her son. She has the distinct feeling Anakin wouldn’t let Ben go anywhere, not with the way his little hands are holding so tight to the man’s shoulders. The man’s shoulders that are covered with one of her old tunics that Anakin had told her became unsalvageable after its last wash.
“No,” Anakin says, tightening his hold on his...friend. “He says you didn’t give him food the entire time I was gone! He’s hungry.”
Shmi thinks there’s a very good possibility that this Ben is going to eat her, but she knows not to say anything of the sort. Not when it’s two against one.
“He hasn’t said anything!” She cries instead.
Anakin huffs at this and pats at the feral’s head. “Maybe not to you, but he talks to me.”
Shmi stares at him and wonders if there’s something she’s supposed to be doing or saying here. The man won’t allow her to tear him off her child, she knows that automatically. But she can’t--she doesn’t know--
“Anakin,” she tries, desperately.
But Anakin doesn’t even look at her, too busy petting over the man, who has at least allowed him to sit up. “Hey, I’m sorry, I thought she would,” he tells him in an undertone. “I really thought she would, but I’m back now. I’m not going anywhere without you again--”
He extends his hand and Ben presses his cheek against it with enough force that it pushes him back slightly.
“You’re coming to Naboo with us, Ben,” Anakin promises, clutching at the ends of the man’s long hair. “Or I’m not going at all.”
To Shmi, it sounds like a threat.
The way her son’s eyes flash an unfamiliar golden color makes her feel cold as a Tatooine night. She shivers, but no one notices.

Read on AO3 (Chapter 3)
Chapter Excerpt:
Together the pair walked out of the apartment and down towards the lift. As they got in, Anakin pressed the button for the rooftop garden. It was one of the few places Palpatine wouldn’t get annoyed at him for going to. Anakin eyed the lightsaber at Obi-Wan’s hip, curious about it. Obi-Wan caught him staring and shifted, turning so it was out of direct view.
“Can I see it? Your lightsaber?”
“Absolutely not,” Obi-Wan said with a slight shake of his head. “It is a weapon, not a toy.”
“I don’t see why I have to place my trust in a weapon I’ve never even seen up close,” Anakin said with a small pout. “Come on, Obi-Wan. Please?”
Silence fell over the pair, and Anakin watched the indecision flicker across Obi-Wan’s face. He sighed and pulled the lightsaber off his belt. As he was about to hand it to Anakin, he drew his hand back, narrowing his eyes at Anakin.
“This weapon is my life. Do you understand how significant it is for me to even let you hold it?”
“Are you flirting with me, Obi-Wan?”
The words slipped out before Anakin could think twice. He sputtered for a moment, about to joke it off, but he couldn’t think of anything to say. Obi-Wan’s eyes widened, and he stuttered, unable to form a coherent thought. Something about seeing him flustered made Anakin’s breath catch in his chest. He reached out and took the lightsaber, turning it over in his hands. He traced a finger over the silver of the metal. The kyber crystal within it softly hummed. It was content, much different than the one within Anakin’s lightsaber.
A soft ding indicated they had reached the gardens. Stepping out, Anakin walked over to the small gazebo and ignited the lightsaber.
“Be careful,” Obi-Wan said, rushing forward after him.
“Relax, I won’t cut off my hand. I’m not a child.”
Swinging the lightsaber a few times, Anakin admired the shimmer it gave off. It glowed a bright blue. Anakin resisted the urge to twirl the lightsaber around. It would immediately give away that he had used the weapon before. Turning it off again, Anakin handed it back to Obi-Wan.
“It looks cool,” he said with a shrug.
“Cool? It’s an elegant weapon, not some overly complicated blaster.” He attached the lightsaber back to his belt. “This weapon could mean life or death for us.”
With a shrug, Anakin walked over and sat in the gazebo. Obi-Wan sat across from him, having regained his calm. “I still don’t see how that thing is supposed to protect me. You should show me.”
“A Jedi shouldn’t show off.”
“Why not? What’s the harm?”
“It’s just not—”
“Please?” Anakin said softly, and he reached out to touch Obi-Wan’s wrist, causing his breath to hitch.
“Fine, if you insist.”
Obi-Wan pulled away, rushing back down the steps of the gazebo. Before Anakin could speak, he walked back to a small clearing in the rows of hedges and flowers. Leaning over the edge, Anakin watched with a wide grin as Obi-Wan ignited the lightsaber. The blue shimmered, reflecting bright light across Obi-Wan’s face. Anakin couldn’t help but feel a flare of pride at successfully convincing Obi-Wan. There was something special forming between them. A bond born from trust and mutual respect. Anakin had never experienced a relationship like that. Even with Padmé and especially not with his father.
Twirling the blade before him, Obi-Wan launched into a practice of various strikes and swings, demonstrating his mastery with the lightsaber. Anakin watched with wide eyes as Obi-Wan effortlessly danced around the small area, swinging at imaginary enemies and blocking their attacks. His shock shifted into admiration.
Obi-Wan had mastered most of the forms, but Anakin noticed he seemed to favor Ataru. It was the most aggressive form, one that Anakin also preferred. Spinning the lightsaber one final time, Obi-Wan turned back to Anakin with a grin. He switched off his lightsaber and reattached it to his belt, bowing slightly as Anakin clapped.
“Most impressive, Padawan,” Anakin said with a teasing tone. “I guess I was wrong to doubt that I would be safe in your capable hands.” He stood and walked down the gazebo steps, meeting Obi-Wan amongst the flowers.
“Let us hope that you won’t need it,” Obi-Wan said quietly.

Suicidal Misunderstanding Part Three: SW Time Travel AU #27
Part One
Part Two
Obi Wan woke with a dry mouth and a moderate headache. A fairly typical morning these days.
He peered around his bedroom in the temple confused. Wasn’t he just with Cody? Shouldn’t he be on the Negotiator? No wait, the war was over, Cody tried to kill him, and the Negotiator was a part of the Imperial Armada, of course he wouldn’t be there. He closed his eyes, snuggling back under the covers. Before he could drift back to sleep, his sluggish mind processed that last thought.
He BOLTED upright in bed. The temple had been razed, his personal chambers scorched with particular thoroughness. Just being on Coruscant was an automatic death sentence. Faint tendrils of panic began to curl around his throat before he remembered his decision to give Spice a try. He had reasoned that he should probably find at least one pleasure in his new life, instead of focusing incessantly on what was lost.
So what if he lost a few brain cells? Good riddance.
Obi-Wan had been a bit nervous, but this had ended up being his best decision in years. His goodbye to Cody had been painful, but deeply cathartic. Spice Hallucination Anakin didn’t scream like Nightmare Anakin, and the color of his eyes was perfect. Far better final memories to cling to than reality- a reminder of the good times. Comforted, he relaxed backwards in bed, pulling his blankets back around him.
He LURCHED out of bed, covers tossed aside, movement a blur.
He was still hallucinating?!? Spice shouldn’t last in the system this long! He might’ve been uncertain about whether he was supposed to smoke or snort the substance but it was a well known fact that its exhaustive but rapid passage through the body was half what made it so addictive. If nothing else, his well-restedness and thirst indicated it had been at least six hours. He looked frantically around the room, searching for some thread of unreality to pull at.
This...was not good. Hadn’t the subconscious manifestations of his friends mentioned drugs that interacted poorly with force users last night? He had dismissed it at the time but...
He clearly was stuck in some sort of drugged fantasy combined with force-enhanced memory recall. Kriff, he had to wake up in the real world before he died of an aneurysm. Or just dehydration.
He sat on the ‘temple floor’ to meditate. This could be tricky as he couldn’t risk lowering his outer shields to reach out to reality. It would be deeply embarrassing as well as horrifying if the Emperor managed to find him and, by extension, Luke because he got stuck in a bad spice trip.
The door to his room clicked open quietly.
“Oh! You’re awake. Sorry to come in without knocking, Master. I wanted to let you sleep, but I’ve been checking on you every two hours to make sure you were still, you know, breathing. You were...pretty out of it last night and I would be a pretty bad ‘best friend in the whole galaxy’ if I let you choke on your own vomit, right?” His blue-eyed Padawan explained with a grin.
Obi-Wan just stared. Oh this- this hurt. It was easier last night, when the whole fantasy had a kind of drunken blurriness. Sleeping and waking had brought sober clarity to the dream world. He could see the bags under Anakin’s eyes as well as the sheepish slouch of his shoulders as he instinctively ducked at the door frame. It was just so real.
“Obi-Wan? Are you feeling ok? Do you still feel drunk?” Anakin asked concerned.
Obi-Wan shook his head. He hesitated, before deciding to just go along with the interaction. He didn’t want to risk his subconscious throwing a less idylic scene at him by pretending to ignore this one. And besides, last night had been, all totaled, a huge relief- an unburdening of things left unsaid. This was probably the closest thing to therapy available to him these days, he might as well take advantage.
“I’m just...processing. Not to mention dealing with some mild dehydration.” He finally answered.
“Processing, huh? So does that mean you, uh, remember last night?” Anakin asked nervously.
“I do.” Obi-Wan smiled gently. As heart-wrenching as this was, it was also adorably sweet. Maybe it was worth it to push off waking for a little while. He could get some closure, maybe even work through some of the past to see where the two of them had gone wrong. It might even be helpful for Luke! Force willing, he would probably end up training Anakin’s son someday.
(the boy wouldn’t have many masters to choose from)
If this dream world could help him figure out specifically how he had failed as a Master, then he owed it to the galaxy to see it through. Satisfied, he resolved to let the fantasy play out. At least for a few more more hours. And...he had missed what Anakin had said. Wonderful start.
“I’m very sorry, Anakin would you mind repeating that? I was still a little distracted, but I promise, I’m focused on you now.”
Anakin shuffled nervously. “It’s nothing.”
Obi-Wan tried to project reassurance without actually projecting. “Please Anakin, I’d like to hear what you have to say. I know I wasn’t the most observant or approachable Master, and I’m sorry for that. But I have always cared about your thoughts and feelings.” It was a struggle and the words caught in his throat, but the raw burn of the apology was cleansing in an almost addictive way.
Anakin flushed. “Did you mean everything you said?” he asked nervously.
“I’d...rather not talk about seeing the destruction of the temple, seeing you... Maybe later...but please, I just don’t want to focus on it while I’m sitting here, looking at you,” Obi-Wan said quietly.
“That actually wasn’t what I was talking about,” Anakin responded quickly. “I mean, I do want to help you with that at some point, but I get not wanting to talk about visions, even if you should probably should. Of course if you do want to talk about that stuff, that’s more important, but since you don’t we can talk about the other stuff you mentioned. I was more referring to, you know, us, and what you said about our friendship?” his voice got progressively higher the longer he rambled.
Obi-Wan thought back. “Well some of it is a little hazy, but overall yes. I...for a very long time I’ve considered you my best friend, and its not so easy for me to let go of my affections. I miss spending time with you; there are times I turn to say something and am still shocked you’re not there. I’m sorry I didn’t tell you, with real words, how much I cared. I’m sorry I didn’t hug you as much as I wanted, looking back that was a nonsensical Jedi custom. It’s not in the code; it’s just an affectation of dignity. All things considered, the fact that you often snuck out to see Padme doesn’t really bother me.” He paused. “Was that everything?”
“Oh. Yeah, that pretty much covered everything.” Anakin looked embarrassed, but happy. “I wasn’t sure if you were just saying that stuff because you were drugged, or really drunk or something.”
“No, I meant what I said. I suppose it just took an altered state for me to relax enough to actually say it instead of just thinking at you and assuming you would know. I must admit, its difficult for me to maintain this emotional honesty without feeling drunk, but it’s good. This is good.”
“Ah, that’s... wow. So you weren’t drugged? Cody was concerned you seemed to off for much you actually drank.”
Obi-Wan frowned. Hadn’t that been a trip? Vision blurring from desert hovel to some nameless Catina he once visited with Cody. The continuity since then was almost unsettling. But, then again, Obi-Wan always did have a remarkable talent for self-delusion, didn’t he. He waved away the concerns.
“My substance consumption was entirely deliberate and exactly what I needed. There might have been some unknown additions with some unforeseen after-affects, but like I said- I’m not drunk. I’m clear minded and in full control right now and I knowingly accept the current fallout from whatever I took. I could meditate and force purge to completely recenter, but I think it would be far wiser to just see where this goes. Do you disagree, Anakin?”
Anakin grinned widely. “Whatever you say, Obi-Wan. Just remember this is your idea. Also, I’m taking you to the healers tonight if you’re not completely back to yourself.”
Obi-Wan signed, “If I’m not back to myself in 12 hours, than I fully agree that’s a problem worthy of the halls of healing.”
“Right,” Anakin nodded decisively, “I’ll go get you some water then comm Cody to tell him you’re still alive.
Obi-Wan smiled weakly in response. This wasn’t just a hashed up memory; the responsiveness was more that. He quickly got dressed, hands lingering over soft fabrics and sand-free linens.
Anakin dropped off a cup of water; Obi-Wan sipped at it hesitantly. Dear force, this was dangerously vivid. It actually felt like a relief in his parched mouth. Clearly his subconscious was pulling out all the stops to trap him in this soft delusion. He would have to deal with the thirst and hunger until he woke up- it was probably the firmest link he had to his real body.
He took one last look around before rushing out of his room, eager to take advantage of the time.
Anakin looked nervously up from the comm when Obi-Wan started pulling his boots on. “You’re not going out in the temple like this, are you?”
“Of course! I want to visit the gardens and the Room of a Thousand Fountains. Not to mention spend some time with a few of the other Jedi. You might still be the dearest being in my heart, but there were other Jedi that I care for, and dammit I’m going to tell them that.” He finally finished lacing up his left leg and moved to the right.
Anakin was dumbstruck, presumably as burnt by the ‘dearest being’ comment as Obi-Wan was. Then he rallied, “Wow, wow, No. You are not running around the temple drugged so you can, I don’t know, give Mace Windu a hug. I thought when you said you were going to ‘deal with the fallout' from whatever the kriff you’re still on, you meant you were going to lounge around the quarters all day!”
His former padawan physically blocked the door when Obi-Wan started to leave, sounding vaguely hysterical, “You can’t run around loopy! You’re a High Council Member!”
“Not anymore,” Obi-Wan replied bitterly.
“What do you mean not anymore,” Anakin said fiercely, grabbing on to his shoulders . “Did they kick you out? Is that why you’re acting crazy? Did you resign?”
Obi-Wan responded by pulling Anakin into a hug, which was immediately returned, “Of course not, don’t be absurd. Fine, I suppose I’m technically still a high council member, it just seems like a bit of a moot point.”
“What the kark does that mean? You used to dream about being on the council! You’re the wisest Master in any of those stupid chairs!”
‘Master of the High Council’ Kenobi just sighed heavily in response. He maneuvered around the confused errant Knight and into the hall.
"Obi-Wan wait! At least eat something first! Or let me put my shoes on!”
“Very well, you have one minute to make yourself presentable. I only have a few hours before I’m going to need to get back to reality, and the longer I linger the more I fear extreme measures may be necessary.”
“What does that mean?” Anakin shouted from inside. “Extreme measures sounds really ominous, you know.”
“I’d rather not get into it, alright? Let’s just enjoy the here-and-now, eh, ad’ika?
Anakin crashed out the door with less than a second to spare. “What did you just call me?"
“Ad’ika,” Obi-Wan answered, striding down the hallway in the direction of the hanging gardens. “Surely you must have picked up some Mando’a from the troopers?”
“Yeah, but I wasn’t sure if I heard you right, bu- um- ori'vod,” Anakin fumbled out. “Uh, you’re not going to call me that in front of anyone else, right? You do remember that the council already gives us the side eye for over-attachment right?”
Obi-Wan hummed thought fully in responded. “There are far worse things a Jedi could do than admit to affection they already feel. Maybe if I had been honest about my attachments, they wouldn’t have ended the way that...” he trailed off quietly.
“The way that what,” Anakin asked frustrated. “You’re really giving me some emotional whiplash over here, and I’m starting to think that putting off dragging you to the healers is a stupid idea.
“There are far stupider things a Jedi could do,” he responded cheerily. “Oh look, there’s Plo Koon. MASTER KOON!” He shouted, startling the Kel Doran Jedi.
“Yes, Master Kenobi?” He replied slightly concerned as the two human Jedi came jogging over.
“I just wanted to say that I consider my former padawan my family. I raised him, I care for him deeply, and I don’t want to let go of those feelings.”
Plo Koon nodded seriously in response. “I feel just the same about my former padawans, and the Wolffe pack, of course. Denying my attachments isn’t, personally, a practical way to handle them. I’d rather honestly live as an imperfect Jedi than pretend to be a perfect example of the code. If I must have some imbalance, I’d rather it be an excess of compassion than a dearth,” he replied earnestly.
“I always admired that about you,” Obi-Wan replied ruefully. “This might be a little odd, but could I have a hug? I hold you in the highest regard and I’ve realized that there are so many Jedi that I never directly expressed my affection for and...”
Plo Koon didn’t wait for Obi-Wan to finish before wrapping his arms around him. “Of course, dear boy. You’ve had such heavy burdens placed on your shoulders during your life, especially in the last few years; it saddens me to see how deeply they’ve weighed you down. If there’s anything I can do to help, in any way, you simply have to ask.”
Obi-Wan sniffled slightly into Plo’s Shoulder while Plo rubbed soothing circles over his back.
A few passing Jedi gave the embracing Masters uncomfortable looks before hurrying on their way. Anakin stood slack-jawed.
When they finally pulled back, Plo Koon hesitated before finally asking, “I don’t mean to pry, but what brought all this on? I can sense much grief from you, even through your impressive shields.”
“It’s a long story,” Obi-Wan replied, wiping at the corner of his eyes. “I’d rather not get into it.”
“He’s high,” Anakin offered bluntly. “He took something last night and won’t go to medical wing.”
“Ah,” Plo said. “Is that true?”
Obi-Wan looked a little embarrassed. “I have the situation under control. My connection with reality might be...slightly altered right now, but my emotions, and what I chose to do with them are my own. I’m just, taking advantage of a unique opportunity to express myself.”
Plo Koon seemed to scrutinize him intensely, “If you’re sure this is what you need, than I support you. Just don’t do anything too foolish.” he finally offered.
Obi-Wan beamed. “I appreciate you saying so, I thought you would be supportive. Farewell, Master Koon”
Obi-Wan offered a respectful bow and then turned to walk away briskly. Before Anakin could follow, Plo rested a claw on his arm.
“Feel free to comm me if his behavior reaches a point where you think he truly needs a healer. I’m happy to help you drag him there if need be. A little cathartic release isn’t in of itself such a bad thing, but if he starts acting too out of control...”
Anakin nodded in acknowledgment, then ran off to see who else Obi-Wan had chosen to throw himself at.

Make You Bed and Lie In It is so amazing good, I cannot thank you enough for your lovely words! If you are still taking prompts, I would be remarkably curious to Obi-Wan's reaction when he realizes Maul has taken Cody. 🥺🥺❤️❤️👀👀
:D Thank you! I have a few asks about Obi-Wan’s POV on different things, so I’m putting them all here, since they’re fairly short. Let’s get started with this one!
~~~~
Obi-Wan knew something had gone wrong, before the news that Cody had gone missing ever reached him. He’d heard the cut-off comm. And he’d felt, itching under his skin, the creeping presence of something hateful and vicious.
Still, reading an actual report that informed him that his Commander was missing settled in his gut like a rock. He worked to keep his breathing even as he ordered the area searched and the dead gathered up.
He spent each moment expecting to receive word that someone had found Cody’s body.
He prepared for it, bracing. He knew how to outwardly respond to that kind of loss. The universe had seen fit to give him plenty of practice handling it.
In the end, he received no report regarding Cody’s body. Instead, he got a transmission on his private comm, one he took without thinking. And he knew exactly what must have happened to Cody as soon as Maul’s yellow-eyed visage sprung to life in the holo.
Obi-Wan stared at him, chest tight with remembered agony, with the memory of his Master, dying in his arms, and asked, “Where is he?”
crc-shea-the-jedi said:
I absolutely adore Make Your Bed!! (And practically everything else you write) if your taking prompts for that I'd love to see that first night they shared a bed from Obi-wan's prospective. Or maybe when Cody just... stayed after his own room was fixed, would love to see Obi-wan's thoughts on that :D
Obi-Wan was cold. And tired, too, but he was half-sure the exhaustion was tied to the cold. The chill ate into him and wore away at his reserves. He had to use the Force just to keep his fingers from turning blue, the gear they’d been supplied with simply inadequate to keep out the cold, at least when he wasn’t moving.
He stayed cold even after he got back to his tent. He held onto a cup of tea - temporarily warm - and just let it grow cold, all the heat absorbed into his palm and fingers. He wondered, through the haze of exhaustion, if the liquid would freeze solid in his hand.
That was, roughly, when Cody interrupted him and took him back out into the cold again.
Obi-Wan knew he wasn’t thinking exactly clearly by the time they reached Cody’s tent, but he also couldn’t dispute that the Commander had a point. He wasn’t going to freeze if he went back to his own tent, but he’d burn a lot of energy making sure that didn’t happen.
And the thought of being warm was so very, very tempting.
Besides, Cody seemed to know what he was doing. Obi-Wan felt - fleetingly - grateful that someone did. The entire war was beginning to feel like one directionless moment of panic after another.
He folded down onto the cot with a little sigh, imagining that he felt warmer all ready. It had been a long time since he pressed up against another person. He blearily considered that he’d missed it; he’d always slept better with someone else in his bed.
He meant to say something about their situation, but Cody put out an insane amount of heat, and it started warming Obi-Wan from his back inwards. He exhaled, shut his eyes, and fell asleep within seconds.
nevertheless-moving said:
Wait I just sent a MYB prompt so 100% feel free to ignore this one or that or both but Obi-Wan pov during that one moment after the massage where Cody briefly lets himself feel THINGS and "Obi-Wan shivered, breath hitching oddly"
Cody carried too much tension in his shoulders. Really, he carried too much tension everywhere, but Obi-Wan could not do much about that. They were all weighed down, more and more, by the war.
And so Obi-Wan addressed the problem he could handle. It had been a long time since he’d offered a massage to anyone, but it was a process he’d completed quite frequently in the past. He recalled the steps to take.
Cody seemed to appreciate it, even if Obi-Wan’s skills were rusted. It was a surprise when he pulled his shirt off without even hesitation, but perhaps not much of one. The troopers had little to no body-shame and craved physical touch as much as any sentient people.
Obi-Wan felt a pang of guilt that he’d waited so long to offer such meagre assistance. He exhaled it away. It would not help either of them to dwell on it and he could not undo the past. He only looked across the breadth of Cody’s shoulders, the muscle over his shoulder blades and down his spine, and set his hands to work.
Cody’s skin grew warmer under his hands, slowly soft and pliable. Obi-Wan spoke softly throughout, mouth curving when Cody matched his breathing. A nudge against Cody’s thoughts helped him move closer to a meditative state, easing the tension remaining in him even further.
It was easily the most relaxed Obi-Wan had seen Cody, perhaps ever. Even asleep, he carried more tension in his body. Obi-Wan stroked a hand across skin, wishing he could remove the stressors that had led to the tension in the first place, and froze as some of Cody’s typical control slipped.
Cody radiated, briefly, such warm contentment. His feelings were all soft and welcoming, built of fondness and, below it, something deeper and richer that rushed into Obi-Wan’s head through the Force.
He shivered, blinking and setting those feelings to the side.
He knew, better than most, that feelings were not the be all and end all of a person. What mattered was how a person chose to respond to their feelings, after all.
Chapter 2 - Cin Vhetin - T’ad
22 BBY - 7955
Din woke slowly this time, the beeping of medical equipment audible through the helmet’s audio sensors. He could sense movement just outside his peripheral vision so he sat slowly taking care not to pull at his back… the constant ache of the old wound was gone. Alertness coming back to him as he remembered the disjointed events of the day prior. His mind was sluggish but at least he could think clearly, the too big helmet helping him stay grounded. He was 30 years in the past, in the child version of his body. He flexed his hands and stretched his back, he groaned in satisfaction. He hasn't been able to do that since the injury, his back was always too stiff. Yes, he was definitely smaller. The weight of his red robes registered and he sucked in a breath, he hadn't seen those robes since his parents’ death. He lifted the edge of it under his helmet and gave it a good sniff. Ka’ra, it smelled like Aq-Vetina, the rich earthy scent of his first parents still strong, mixed with the distinct smell of spices on the market. There were other smells too like ash and blood but for once he ignored those, basking in the memory of his birth parents.
The door opened and Helix walked in, datapad in hand. He glanced up when he sensed Din looking at him and gave him a gentle smile
“Hey, kid” Helix pulled up a stool beside the bed and sat, keeping himself relaxed. Din nodded in greeting the helmet wobbling on his head.
“Do you know where you are?” Helix asked gently and Din tried not to let his irritation show since he did attack them yesterday and his mind was still hazy
“A Republic cruiser” He answered and Helix nodded
“Good. Can you tell me the year?” Din paused just to make sure he got the date right since it’s been decades since he last used CRC
“7955” Helix gave him a gentle smile and stood and began to fiddle with one of the medical equipment in the room. Din watched him like a hawk when a thought occurred to him in his still sluggish mind.
“Did you drug me?” he asked suspiciously and Helix stilled and turned back to Din
“Yes. Some weak sedatives and a mild Force suppressant” Din furrowed his eyebrows at that
“Force suppressant?” Why would he need that? He doesn’t have magic like Grogu or the jetii. Helix hummed
“The General suggested it since you weren’t sleeping well” he explained but Din was even more lost
“What do my dreams have to do with magic osik?” He asked incredulously and Helix froze as a scanner clattered on the floor
“Kark” He swore as he gathered the dropped item, shaken; though how Din knew since Helix appeared perfectly composed was a mystery. He turned to Din muttering some curse under his breath then leveling Din with a serious look
“You don’t know?” he asked and Din was starting to get nervous that something was wrong with him
“Know what?” He tilted his head to the side in confusion. Helix closed his eyes in pain and sighed
“Can I comm the General? He would be more suited for this conversation” Din looked at Helix in shock, the short time he knew the medic he was always confident knowing what to say, taking control of the situation with ease. Anxiety rolled in his stomach, but his instincts weren’t giving him any bad vibes so he reluctantly nodded
“Sure,” he said. Helix jumped into action and keyed in the General’s frequency, he picked up a tense minute later
“General, there’s a problem in room 27” Helix said voice level and the comm was silent for agonizingly long seconds
“Copy that” Kenobi’s voice was on edge as he disconnected from the comm. Helix sat back on the stool
“It’s nothing bad, Beroya” He tried to soothe. Din raised an eyebrow and tilted his bucket with a snort filled with disbelief
“I’m not a child, you don’t have to coddle me” Helix sucked in a breath his eyes filling with pain
“Oh, right”
The door hissed open and Kenobi rushed in followed by Kote, Din relaxed at the sight of them.
“Is everything alright vod?” Kote asked in a harsh and caring voice. Helix stood, gave Kote a nod with a small smile, and turned to Kenobi
“General he uh… doesn’t know” Both of them looked at Helix in shock the medic did not hesitate - ever. Kenobi blinked in confusion, then his eyes settled over Din while Kote eyed Helix. Din was so confused. What doesn’t he know? It was something fundamentally big he managed to miss in over 40 years. He watched warily as Obi-Wan pulled another chair from the corner and sat, Kote settled on the edge of his bed patting his leg comfortingly.
“What did Helix tell you?” Obi-Wan asked and Din’s attention snapped to him
“I was given sedatives and a Force suppressant?” he furrowed his eyebrows “I was told it helped me sleep better” Din was plagued with nightmares and dreams that came true since he was a child. Sometimes they remained in his head as an eerie echo or other times they were weird and cryptic but they always came true and left him more exhausted than he should be when he woke. Strangely though when the goran gave his beskar buy’ce the intensity of the dreams lessened, she said it would help him.
“Yes, visions are taxing on your body and mental wellbeing so in extreme cases or with an untrained Force user, mild Force suppressants are given to limit your exposure. Don’t worry it shouldn’t interfere with your connection to the Force too much” Kenobi gave him a reassuring smile and panic was rising violently in Din despite the sedatives.
“General, I think you went a bit too fast” Kote commented, his voice heavy with barely concealed sarcasm but Din could tell he was laughing on the inside. Din’s mind was blank, his hands were shaking
“I-I don’t understand. My dreams… I … have jetii magic? Neret’yc” he mumbled and grabbed the sides of his helmet with his shaking hands caught in his own feedback loop of panic and confusion
“Oh dear,” Obi-Wan mumbled while Kote scrambled off the bed and knelt in front of him gently prying his hands away from the bucket.
“Gar morut’yc” He whispered. Din slowly came down from the panic, his mind still an anxious mess but he could think again. He really should stop losing control like that. It was like his usual controls were gone and everything felt more powerful than usual, including his own emotions. It was exhausting and humiliating still, he thanked Kote and turned back to Obi-Wan who looked at him sheepishly.
“I’m sorry, Beroya. I shouldn’t have dumped it onto you like that. I assumed you knew” Discomfort weighed heavy on his heart at the apology but before he could say anything Helix whacked Kenobi on the back of his head. He let out a quiet oof. Terror spiked in Kote as he stared in shock
“Di’kut. That’s why I called you here” Helix snipped, then his face morphed into horror as his words registered and at Kenobi’s bewildered stare “Sir” he added as he straightened fearfully
“I deserved that one” Obi-Wan smiled and patted Helix on the arm. Once the General conceded, Kote burst into giggles, his lingering fear also disappearing from his shoulders. Helix glowered at him
“So… I have jetii magic?” Din asked before the vode could start a fight. Obi-Wan grimaced
“The Force but yes” Din hummed processing the information trying to put the two separate boxes of jetii osik and Mando’ade together without much success. There was something missing.
“What I want to know is how did Beroya miss this for over 30 odd years?” Kote interjected and he had a point. Obi-Wan stroked his beard in thought
“Many Force sensitive adults don’t know as the Force doesn’t always manifest with telekinesis, it could be good instincts, faster reaction time, better aim, visions of the future in dreams or just a heightened sense of empathy” Obi-Wan explained. Din looked down at his hand curiously
“I thought I always had good instincts” he mumbled “It feels different now though” Kote’s eyes snapped to his bucked in alarm, Helix’s hand tightening on his arm to keep him in place
“How?” Obi-Wan probed. Din, shrugged
“Clearer and louder. I… out of control” he said, words failing to convey the difference. Obi-Wan sucked in a breath
“Are you shielding, young one?” Din tilted his head in confusion
“I can protect my mind?” He asked innocently and Obi-Wan’s hand returned to his beard in thought then his eyes lit up in understanding
“Was your beskar’gam made of beskar?” he asked and Din bristled
“Of course it was,” he said with a little pride in his voice, his armor was his life after all. Obi-Wan tongue clicked
“Beskar blocks the Force. There are special alloys with a lower concentration of beskar made for Force sensitives”
“It does? But then why would…” It occurred to him that his dreams weren’t as severe when he slept with his buy’ce.
“Val ru’kar’taylir bal ru’ne’vaabir rejorhaa’ir ni'' They knew and did not tell me he murmured in disbelief. Why didn’t she tell him or make him a better beskar’gam? The stab of betrayal spread through his veins, his back aching in phantom pain. He wanted to throw something, anger bubbling up in him like lava, hot and dangerous. Kote placed a hand on his and the lava flowed into Kote leaving him empty
“It’s alright. I’m sure they had a reason” He said but the simmering outrage inside Kote remained. Grogu, the Empire wanted them for the same reason, maybe she was protecting him. The sting of lies and betrayal faded to a throb as he thought it over
“The Empire wanted Force sensitive children,” he said, his voice empty. It made sense now. Obi-Wan sucked in a sharp breath in pain.
“Are you alright?” Din asked and Obi-Wan nodded though he was still massaging his temple, his blue eyes found Din’s through the visor.
“How about I teach you how to shield? You might not feel as overwhelmed as much” he suggested and Din stared at him
“I can’t be a jetii, I’m a Mando’ad” He declared, his heart conflicted. The wrongness of becoming a jetii an enemy of Mandalore and his ingrained fear of his new and unknown powers conflicted with the instinct - that may or may not be the Force - telling him that it’s right, almost nudging towards that path. His thoughts flickered back to the confusing jetii’kad that Grogu gave him, the blade felt like a part of himself.
oOo
9 ABY - 7986
The Razor Crest was floating in empty space while Din tried to get his bearings and figure out potential allies after the mess on Nevarro. Rage boiled within him at the thought of that demagolka Gideon wanted his child. He sighed, lifted his helmet just enough to pinch the bridge of his nose when the cries of the child registered. They were their usual ‘I want attention’ cries but this time they were quite forceful and determined. Din set a course to a random backwater planet and jumped the Crest into hyperspace. The child was wailing now so Din climbed down the ladder to see what they wanted.
The child was sitting on a box, regarding him with intelligent eyes. Not a sign of their earlier distress
“What’s wrong adi’ka?” he asked as he stepped closer to examine them. Fierce determination radiated from their posture as their face adorably scrunched up in concentration
“Protect” Din sucked in a breath at the sudden thought that entered his mind, it was definitely not his. He sank down to the floor in shock and regarded the ad in wonder, his hands shook.
“That… that was you adi’ka?” he asked, his voice giddy with excitement. He finally had a way to communicate with the child to understand them, love swelled inside his chest. The child huffed in annoyance and concentrated some more
“PROTECT” They shouted in his head and Din’s mind almost ripped in half from the force of it. He took a steadying breath and held up a hand to stop the ad from doing it again but louder. A headache was beginning to form
“Alright, adi’ka. I’m sorry I haven’t been able to protect you” he said regret filling his voice. What kind of a Mandalorian can’t protect a child? The ad mewled in irritation cutting off Din’s destructive thoughts and pointed a shaky claw at him while glaring at him like it was his fault for not understanding. It was adorable and Din’s heart melted at the sight. Din furrowed his eyebrows in confusion once he puzzled out the message the child wanted to convey
“You want to protect me?” he asked in mild horror. The child smiled and nodded vigorously, ears flopping around like a dog as they began to shuffle around. Din’s heart ached in sorrow at their lost innocence
“Oh, cyar’ika” he breathed out, failing to keep his emotions out of his voice “I can protect myself. It’s not your responsibility,” he said as he gently reached out to lay a comforting hand on their shoulder. The ad’s big dark eyes gazed at him with confusion their ears down turning before scrunching up their nose in determination
“Promised” Din tightened his hand in worry and sighed
“Who?” The child gazed at him with sad yet knowing eyes as they pointed another shaky claw in his direction and Din recoiled in shock
“Me? I - I would never ask you to promise anything like that” he said incredulously he would never burden a child with such a promise. The ad’s eyes turned somber at that, their expression the most serious he’s ever seen and it disturbed him to his core. What has this child gone through?
“Too young” They declared their ears drooping with exhaustion and through the haze of confusion Din reached out to steady them. What did they mean he was too young? His mind was filled with more questions than answers from this strange conversation with the child. They finally pulled a cylindrical object out of the many folds of their robe and pressed it into Din’s hand
“Gift” they whispered weakly in his mind before collapsing in his arms. Din stared at the child, sleeping peacefully and then the object in his hand.
“Oh adi’ka what have you gotten yourself into?” he said voice laced with barely suppressed pain before leaning down and pressing his forehead to theirs
“Vor entye adi’ka” he murmured before tugging the snoring bundle into their hammock and shutting the door.
He studied the cylindrical object in his hand. It looked like a hilt of a weird sword, at the top four metal pieces were surrounding the inner part of the hilt like a crown. There was a band of shiny metal that appeared to be beskar curving around the middle of the hilt, two small buttons were nested on the side of the band. Below the dark leather grip at the bottom of the hilt was a cap painted vibrant orange. The leather was worn and fraying in some places and the beskar had some scorch marks on it.
He gripped the hilt and it slid into his hand perfectly, with a burning curiosity he thumbed one of the buttons. The sudden hum and light had him almost dropping the weapon. An orange blade materialized out of the hilt humming with glee and lighting up the interior of the hull with a soft orange glow. Din stared at the weapon with shock, he hadn’t seen anything like it in his life but strangely the weapon seemed to recognize him. It was singing to him Din realized, happiness pouring out of the weapon in waves, how he knew he had no clue. He gave it a slow experimental swing entranced by its joyful orange glow. It was strange the blade itself had no weight so his balance was off and he gave it another swing. The blade cut through the air fluidly humming with delight. Giddiness bubbled up inside him as he gave the weapon a good twirl. The blade hummed with the joy of long lost friends reuniting and Din laughed with the blade. Beeping broke Din out of his feedback loop of happiness barely loud enough over the humming of the blade. Din sighed, gifted the blade one last twirl and gave it a long longing look then thumbed the off switch. The blade died down leaving the room oddly dark and quiet. Emptiness he didn’t notice before registered for the first time in his life. He clipped the hilt to his belt and climbed up to the cockpit just as the Razor Crest lurched out of hyperspace.
22 BBY - 7955
Someone was talking through the haze that surrounded Din. His memory was clearing and he was in the medical bay of an unknown ship. He blinked in confusion
“Beroya?” The man at the end of the bed asked his brows drawn in concern. The ginger man placed a hand on his, Din jumped
“Did you have a vision?” He asked. His head cleared slowly; he was on a Republic ship, he was 44 in the body of his 12 year old self and he had the Force. Kote was at the end of his bed sat by his leg, Helix was standing behind Kenobi the jetii who just offered to train him. He sighed
“No, just a memory,” He thought back to the vivid memory he just remembered, he had a jetii’kad. Did he get one in the past? Did he give it to Gorgu? Why didn’t he keep it? He stared at his hands in confusion
“Beroya, teaching you how to shield doesn’t mean you have to become a Jedi,” Kenobi said reading his doubts, Helix hummed behind him. Din lifted his head and gazed at Obi-Wan
“But I have the Force?”
“There are many sentients who have the Force and are not Jedi”
“Oh,” he was quickly realizing that knew so little about all of the Force osik stuff. Right now, despite his instincts insistence otherwise, he did not want to abandon his Mandalorian heritage but he needed training to understand his powers better and to be able to protect himself when push comes to shove. He looked at Kenobi his helmet wobbling on his head
“I’ll accept your offer” Kenobi sighed in relief and Kote patted his leg, pride radiating off of him. Kenobi turned to Kote
“Cody make sure everything is set up” Kote nodded, gave Din a smile, and left the room Helix leaving with him
Kenobi gestured for him to stand and sit opposite him on the floor
“So, have you meditated before, young one?” Obi-Wan asked once Din had settled into a comfortable position. He shook his head
“Close your eyes and feel the Force around you. Take a deep breath through your nose and let it out slowly” Din followed Obi-Wan’s instructions calming his mind and letting the familiar yet unfamiliar feeling of the Force into him and wash over him. He gasped, he could feel Obi-Wan sitting across from him, his mind similarly calm but he was the brightest presence on the ship. He could also feel Helix shuffling around with some medical equipment next door and the thousands of different yet similar beings on the ship all glowing in his mind’s eye and moving through their duties like a well-oiled machine. He could pick out Kote’s light from among the rest, he was a warm, strong and steadfast presence, the one he would associate with a good leader or parent.
“Good, now imagine laying a wall between yourself and the rest,” Obi-Wan murmured from the outside, barely audible. Din slowly began building the wall in his mind, brick by brick reinforcing it with beskar along the way. Gradually the lights dimmed and their emotions that he’s been picking up quieted to a hum. His own emotions, now easier to separate, were clearer and easier to control from the absence of thousands of other emotions. He felt Obi-Wan pull away so he slowly climbed his way to consciousness. He blinked his eyes open, his chest lighter since he woke up in the past. He breathed out a sigh of relief. And his stomach rumbled. Obi-Wan who was already on his feet smiled good naturedly at Din and held out a hand, Din grabbed it and let him pull him to his feet.
“Vor’e” He thanked Obi-Wan
The door swished open and Helix walked with Kote right behind him carrying a big bag in his hand. Din tilted his head in question, putting a hand on his helmet to stop it from banging against his skull. Obi-Wan smiled at Kote.
“Oh good, you’ve got it” Kote grinned with excitement, his presence enveloping Din. He looked at the bag curiously as he sat back on the bed, legs swinging in anticipation. Kote hefted the bag onto the bed with a low grunt.
“We did the best we could,” Kote said as Din peered into the bag. His heart stopped. There was a whole set of beskar’gam made out of plastoid in the bag. He picked up the buy’ce cradling it in his hands in wonder tracing the edge of the T-visor with his finger. The design was like the armor Kote and his brothers wore but smaller, tailored to his size. He placed the buy’ce aside then lifted each piece out with care and wonder, each piece was snow white - Cin Vhetin - the color of a new beginning, it was fitting he mused silently. He laid them out on the bed in the traditional way he was taught as a child, admiring the full set.
“You could paint it if you want to,'' Helix suggested as he stood behind him. Din tilted his head in thought he never felt the need to paint his armor, then when he got the full beskar set and it didn’t feel right to paint it, the unpainted beskar showing his penance for almost becoming dar’buir. Now though he could imagine the swirling patterns of various designs on the white surface.
“I’ll think about it” he murmured then he hesitated for a moment before turning to Kote. “Uh… could you leave?” He asked and embarrassment coated his voice, Kote nodded in understanding and they quietly left the room. Once the door was shut behind them Din unclipped his red robe, folded it neatly and set it aside, and pulled on the black flight suit that came with the armor. Then he clipped each piece on with familiar ease of weaning armor his entire life and tightened the belts where he felt the plastoid slack. It fit surprisingly well to his new thin lanky frame. The plastoid was lighter and more flexible than his beskar of his previous beskar’gam and he’ll have to adjust to that. He gripped the helmet in his hands and stared at his new face with an odd sense of disappointment, something wasn’t quite right with it but he couldn’t figure out what. Still, it would be better than Kote’s too big bucket that wobbled precariously every time he moved his head. He lifted the bucket off his face and glanced around expecting the room to transform into an Imperial cell but it stayed mostly the same. Not wanting to chance another episode he placed his new buy’ce on his head. The slight hiss as it connected was a comfort he forgot he needed, he sighed as he finally felt safe in his own skin. He knocked on the door harshly to signal Kote and the others that he was done. Kote and Helix walked in and Din tilted his head in confusion
“Where’s Kenobi?” Helix shrugged
“He had to go up to the bridge since we’ll be rendezvousing with the 501st soon” he explained and Kote mock glared at his brother. Din held out Kote’s bucket and he grabbed it his hands shaking slightly
“Vor entye, Kote,” He said gratefully as tears prickled in the corner of his eyes. The warmth from Kote grew as it enveloped him like a hug. He beamed at him while Helix looked between them with a confused frown.
“You’re welcome Beroya” He clapped him on the shoulder still grinning
“How about we grab some food,” he said as he dragged him out of the room he’s been in the past few days. Din’s heart sped up.
“I can leave?” he asked with confusion. He was under the impression that he was a prisoner even if he was a nicely treated one. Helix who was following behind them sucked in a breath
“Of course you can,” he said with some incredulity. Din shrugged half heartedly
“I thought since I attacked your men that I would be a prisoner” He had to keep a tight hold on his new and fragile shields so as to not get swept away by the violent flood of Kote’s and Helix’s emotions.
“Well, at first you were” Kote admitted scratching the back of his neck and Helix shot him a look
“Oh” Din sighed, Kote held up a dramatic hand
“But! You were hallucinating and you apologized and you haven’t given us reason to treat you a prisoner since” Kote explained hastily and warmth spread across Din, he hummed and examined the hallway to distract himself from the strange emotion. The hallways, while similar to an Imperial ship at a first glance, had enough of a different feel to them that Din could differentiate the two. Troopers were walking about hurrying to their destination, some gave Kote a salute and smile, while others did a double take at the sight of Din. Their stares did not affect him since he was used to them when he had the full beskar beskar’gam. There were a few who huddled together and whispered something to the others, no doubt the gossip train had started already. Din sighed, the gossip amongst the Covert was bad since most of them never left the sewers of Nevarro but it may reach a new level of horrible since he was the center of the latest gossip.
They arrived at the mess hall quicker than he expected. Clones were in large groups around the tables, their chatter and the clatter of utensils echoed throughout the entire room. The tables were long white and organized into neat rows though some of the benches were askew and the shouts of rowdy bunch cut through the background noise. Din’s mind tried to puzzle out a way to escape eating but Kote grabbed his arm and dragged him towards the cue, once he realized Din was lingering in the doorway. Din sighed. He stared at the small selection of food, mostly ration bars and some instant meals that were even less appetizing.
“Don’t tell me you’re just as bad at eating regularly as the General,” Helix joked from next to him. Din did eat less than he should. The fact that he couldn’t remove his helmet in most establishments and that he was reluctant to spend more than the bare minimum on food since most of the money went to the Covert and the foundlings - all of that meant that he skipped a few meals here or there. Helix raised an eyebrow at him, a mean scowl on his face at Din’s silence.
“Well, I-” he began to explain himself when Helix held up a hand
“The Force and meditation are not adequate replacements for food and sleep damn it!” Helix ranted as stacked 5 ration bars and some goop onto the tray, Kote snickered
“General Kenobi would argue,” he said with a smile
“The General can kiss my shebs” Helix grumbled with some ire and Din blushed then he remembered Helix’s earlier words
“The Force can be used that way?” he asked in wonder, wishing he knew a better way to stay awake at the countless long sleepless nights he had while hunting. Helix whirled around pointing a finger in his face with a glare, scowl still present
“Forget I said anything” He declared dramatically with a long sigh. Kote was snickering in the background while Helix kept grumbling to himself. Din followed after them knowing that he won’t lose them since he could pick out Kote’s warm presence in the crowd but it felt better to keep them in sight
“I only ate enough to sustain myself because the Covert needed the rest of the credits,” He said the urge to explain himself to Kote and Helix was strong. They reached a relatively empty table and Helix pushed the tray of food towards him as soon as they sat down. He stared at the food with trepidation and Helix sighed
“There is no shortage of food here Beroya” Helix gestured to the food, chewing on a ration bar himself “So eat” Din sighed
“I can’t” He bit out after a moment of hesitation. Helix and Kote exchanged a concerned look and he got the distinct impression of Kote wanting to hug him
“Why not?” Kote asked. Din looked down shamefully at his hands, he already broke the Creed several times first to save Grogu but that was fine since foundlings came above all else. But now so many people had seen him, not just without his buy’ce but without his beskar’gam so can he even be called a Mando’ad? Who was he if not a Mandalorian? His thoughts circled around that question so he clung to the traditions that would reject him in a vain attempt to define himself
“I can’t remove the helmet,” He said, eyes still locked on his hands. He felt the spike of concern, irritation, and shock from Kote
“Who told you that?” his voice was low and angry though not directed at him still he flinched slightly
“No one. This is the Way” he echoed, the once comforting words felt wrong and hollow coming from his mouth.
“The Way?” Helix asked his voice returning to the gentle prod he used earlier when he thought he was dreaming
“The Way of the Mandalore. I can’t remove my helmet in front of any living being or I become dar’manda”
“But you didn’t have a helmet before Cody gave you his” Helix’s voice was gentle and he could feel Kote stewing next to him
“Exactly, I already broke the Creed” He couldn’t say it out loud that would make it real and he was already hollow and directionless. The Covert would certainly not accept him back now if he could even find them
“That’s bantha shit!” Kote exploded and Din’s head snapped up to him
“What?” He whispered and his voice shook in bewilderment
“You just didn’t have a helmet when you got here! What if someone removed your helmet if you got captured? What are you supposed to do then?” Kote ranted “Besides, having a helmet does not make you Mandalorian. Then the vode wouldn’t be Mando’ade” His face was red from anger, Helix nodded along a similar expression of outrage on his face and Din stared at them in shock. Anger not directed at him radiated off of the both of them. Din’s heart swelled with an unknown emotion as he looked back at his food
“I…” he was at a loss for words as Kote deflated
“I’m still not comfortable removing the helmet,” he declared after a moment of silence. His mind whirling with shock. Both of them nodded in understanding
“We understand Beroya” Helix said
“But if you ever feel comfortable enough know that we won’t judge you” Kote finished. His heart squeezed in gratitude and warmth filled him, Din ducked his head.
Kote and Helix returned to their bland meal and Din glanced around the noisy mess hall. Troopers were talking boisterously, some slapping each other on the shoulder or arm as a show of comredradie. He spotted a few not so subtly ogling him but he ignored them. They felt happy and unrestrained. So when the back of his neck prickled with the usual sense of danger Din was taken aback and whirled around a second too late. The punch landed squarely on his bucket, rattling his head for a moment. The trooper had no paint on their armor and sported a mean scowl on his face, Kote sprang up from his seat growling at the trooper
“Slick, what the hell do you think you are doing?” Slick ignored his commanding officer and only sneered at the stunned Din anger rolling off of him in waves.
“You attack our men and then you have the audacity to wear our armor!” He said with disgust. The easy going chatter around them died down to a hushed whisper as everyone stared at them. Kote walked up to Slick with a furious expression and his voice was barely restrained, hard with the promise of violence
“Stand down Sergeant” He ordered. The order fell on deaf ears as Slick glared at Kote with no fear besides the tide of righteous anger
“No sir” he ground out “Don’t you see that he’s just another nat-born pretending to like us, to be one of us” He gestured to the rest of the clones
“Ni ceta” Din apologized as he stood, wobbling slightly on his legs. Slick sneered
“Oh, now he speaks our language too.” His voice was heavy with sarcasm “What’s next? You gonna paint your armor like us too? Is stealing our language and freedom not enough for you?” Slick accused loudly venom filling his voice and being
“Stand down Sargeant! That’s an order!” Kote bellowed his voice echoing throughout the silent mess hall. Din straightened feeling the anger rise in him at the unwarranted accusations
“I am a Mando’ad and I do not steal anyone’s freedom” He declared his voice steady and sure, his earlier doubts gone for the moment.
“Yeah, right” Slick huffed and raised his hand for another punch. Kote had enough and with a swift move restrained Slick bending his arm around his back painfully. He gestured for two clones their armor painted orange and handed the seething Slick over to them
“Maybe a few hours in the brig will teach you a lesson” He nodded to the two clones who dragged Slick away who was still glowering at Din with hatred.
“Alright boy fun’s over” Kote declared to the spectators and the rest of the troopers slowly returned to their meals though the chatter was more subdued than before
Kote sank back into his seat with a tired sigh and Din followed soon after. His mind still reeling at the pure hatred Slick directed his way like he was the cause of all of his problems. But before he could ask Kote why Slick hated him so much, two clones sat at their table, one next to Kote and one next to Din. Kote sighed in irritation and glared at the two clones while Helix snickered
“Waxer, Boil, what are you doing here?” Kote asked, his voice and posture tired with all the bantha shit that happened since Din left his room. Waxer was looking at him wearily from across the table and Din tilted his head in question. Boil, appearing to not have the same hesitation looped an arm around Din’s shoulder and grinned at him. Both Din and Waxer tensed.
“So you’re the verdi’ka who beat up Waxer,” he said with a good humored smile, Din tensed his shoulders. Kote gave a long suffering sigh and pinched the bridge of his nose, and Din opened his mouth to apologize again
“If you’re here to cause trouble...” Kote began
“Oh, we’re not assholes like Slick” Waxer chuckled relaxing slightly, Boil grinned and nudged Din
“Waxer was just too scared to ask the verd’ika for a rematch,” Boil said with a sly smile. Waxer rose and hit Boil across the table his face red with embarrassment
“I’m not!” he squeaked out, Kote tried to wrangle the two brothers to calm down and Helix was outright cackling now while Din stared at the chaotic scene in confusion.
“Why?” he blurted out and the chaos around the table as they stared at him. Waxer seeming to overcome his fear looked at him
“Because you’re good and it’s nice to spar with someone new,” He said earnestly
“Hear, hear” Boil chanted as he lifted his drink. Din looked at them both finding his instincts or the Force were telling him that they weren’t lying so Din agreed with a nod
“Sweet, sparring room 5 after the mission?” Waxer said vibrating in his seat with excitement
“Calm down vod’ika” Helix chastised and Din shrugged his heart soaring at the thought of a good spar since all his recent fights had been life or death situations, it’ll be nice to let out some steam.
“Sure” he agreed with a hidden smile. Waxer cheered, Boil rolled his eyes in fondness and then they soon left after that whispering amongst themselves in excitement. Kote turned to Helix with a raised eyebrow
“You were batchmates with them right?” Helix grinned mischief entering his eyes
“Yeah Waxer and Boil were always a chaotic duo”
“Batchmates?” Din asked curiously both of them tensed and stilled, fear spiking in them for a second but then it was replaced by humor again
“Batchmates grew up together, they were usually decanted in the same batch of 5” Helix explained, Kote was still tense though
“Like brothers,” Din said
“All the clones are vode but yes in a way batchmates are closer” There was a smile in Helix’s voice and Kote seemed to shrink in on himself a haunted look crossing his eyes but before Din could ask if he was alright his comm beeped with a message. Kote grinned and stood all, his fear disappearing instantly, Din tilted his head curiously
“Come on Rex’ika will be here soon,” He said with mirth, Helix stood and Din followed. Helix tossed him a ration bar with a scowl, Din fumbled to catch it
“Don’t think I’ve forgotten that you haven’t eaten today” he grumbled and Din gulped. Instead of answering he redirected the conversation away from himself
“Rex’ika?” he asked as he followed Kote since he wasn’t told to go back to the medical room
“My vod’ika” Kote grinned “He’d love to meet you”
“Really?”
“The 501st and General Skywalker are a rowdy bunch so I’m sure you’ll fit right in,” Helix said with a grin. Din paused, stunned the jetii who took Grogu away was younger than him so he shouldn’t be here unless he was near human and aged slower. Din snapped out of his musings when he felt the presence of Kote and Helix move away, he jogged to catch up with them.
“General Skywalker?” He asked a bit winded, Helix chuckled at that
“He is one of the best Generals in the GAR besides Kenobi” he added at Kote’s mock glare
“His plans may seem reckless but he has the fewest losses in the entire army. Rex is certainly not bored under him” Kote said with a proud smile
“At least he doesn’t lose his lightsaber every other battle” Helix teased, Kote sighed in exasperation
“Don’t remind me” he grumbled, Din watched in fascination. Helix left for the medbay about halfway to the hangar. They arrived at the hangar soon after that. It was busy, the engines of the landing LAATs and shuttles deafening, hundreds of troopers all decked out in blue armor were milling about the place, chattering amongst each other and greeting the troopers with orange paint enthusiastically. Kenobi was in the middle of the action directing the troopers and the landing crafts. But before they could reach him a clone with a blue pauldron and jaig eyes painted on his helmet approached them. Kote grinned
“Rex’ika” he exclaimed and enveloped the clone in a hug, relief flowing through him, the blue clone returned the hug just as enthusiastically. Once they finished greeting each other Rex glanced behind Kote where Din was standing suspicion in his frame
“Cody who’s this?” He gestured to Din, Kote grinned
“This is Beroya. We picked him up on Aq-Vetina” Kote introduced him proudly and Rex did a double take
“Beroya? I thought you took a shiny under your wing, not a cadet” Rex said his voice filled with incredulity, and Din bristled
“He’s nat-born Rex’ika,” Cody said with a glare to challenge Rex’s protest. Alas Rex was too oblivious to notice
“Why is he here and why is he wearing our armor?” There was no disgust or contempt in his voice instead he radiated confusion as he stared at Din, Kote shrugged
“Because he needed one and General Kenobi wanted him here” Din stared at Kote with a raised eyebrow as he sensed Kenobi approaching with a man behind him. The man was so bright, like a supernova it took him a second of squinting under the helmet’s sensors to really make out his features. He was tall and imposing, growing messy brown hair and wearing black battle armor and robes.
Din staggered back as the image of the man was replayed in his head. Suddenly he wasn’t in the hangar. He was in a large temple, tall spires casting long shadows in the dark night. Everything was dark and muddy even the air was suffocating, heavy with death and tragedy. Terror sliced through him as the screams of the ade tore through the peaceful setting. Blue flashed across the dark sky before another life joined the thousands screaming in agony. The dark robed demon cut through the children with ease, his golden eyes flashing with hatred and fury.
The temple morphed around him with sickening ripples. He was clutching something important to his chest running as fast as he could. Run away. Protect. Hide. He kept chanting. The shadows around him grew, eating up the low light of the moon leaving behind nothing but cold dead darkness. Out of the darkness, the demon materialized, golden eyes dead to the world yet filled with bottomless hatred. Blue flashed across the hall and orange rose just barely to meet it. The colors clashed, their usual magnificent harmony tainted just out of tune. Blue left and with vicious force came down on the weakening orange again and again like a rabid dog. Another violent clash, the orange now sluggish waning in the darkness that surrounded them. Still, it rose to meet every single violent strike with determination. Then the blue cut through the orange with a brutal strike. It fell into two on the ground. The orange light died out with last pathetic sparks. The darkness eating it alive
Din cried out in terror.
╔═══*.·:·.☽✧    ✦    ✧☾.·:·.*═══╗
“Y/N, when you said you were serious about your training I expected I would see you there on time each morning.” The familiar lilt of Obi-Wan’s voice jerks you up from your incredibly deep sleep. You wipe away the drool from the corner of your mouth and gaze around your room with bleary eyes.
There’s nobody there.
Then a knock sounds from your door and you realise that your Master is too respectful to just barge into your room without permission.
“Come in, Master.”
You hear the hiss of your door sliding open and smile sheepishly as your favourite bearded face peers around into the unhomely expanse of your room. Unlike the Jedi Masters, padawans weren’t encouraged to decorate their rooms. That’s a privilege earnt through time and experience. You’re thankful that you went to bed wearing a large jumper last night, though as you stretch the material exposes your stomach ever so slightly.
“I broke my datapad yesterday…” You trail off, knowing that this is the third one you’ve gone through this year, “I didn’t have anything to set an alarm on.” An innocent smile graces your lips as Obi-Wan sighs, sitting next to you on your unmade sheets as he returns it with his own wry grin.
“Whatever am I going to do with you, Padawan?” You know your Master well enough by now to be able to tell what he is feeling by the tone of his incredibly expressive voice, and thankfully right now he doesn’t seem too annoyed by your lack of care for your datapad. However, you also know that you’re treading on very thin ice, that you’re going to have to start putting a lot more effort in unless you want him to give up on you like everyone else has.
It’s been a few weeks since you met Ahsoka which gave you the motivation you needed to get back on track. To say it’s been a hard few weeks would be an understatement. You’re up every morning before the light, fighting and learning and meditating with Obi-Wan. The two of you spend a lot of time together alone in the mornings and evenings when most other people in the temple have already retired to bed, but a lot of your time in the day is shared by Anakin - he thinks it is a great idea to train you and Ahsoka together.
Now that was a kick in the teeth.
You like Ahsoka, you really do, but it’s so humiliating to be trained alongside someone so much younger than you. Especially in front of the man you’re head over heels in love with. And, as another cherry on top of the cake of your shit life, the senate has been quiet as of late, which means Padme has plenty of free time to come and oversee your training sessions. Keeping an eye on the Jedi Temple, she says, but everyone sees the smiles exchanged between her and her Jedi. It makes you feel queasy.
How are you supposed to focus on training when your biggest distraction is hanging in front of you everyday?
You have to give it to Obi-Wan, he tries his best to steer you away from the pain caused by seeing Anakin and Padme together. He stands directly in your eyeline when he knows they are near each other, so that you can’t see anything except his smiling face. When Anakin suggests lunch with Ahsoka and Padme, Obi-Wan regretfully informs him of the non-existent prior engagements the two of you have with a sneaky smile your way.
With all the hardship of the past few weeks, you’re happy with how close it has brought you and your Master.
“Can we just leave it for today, Master? Please.” You flop back down onto your bed, your eyes remaining on Obi-Wan as you send him your best pleading, doe-eyed look.
“Sadly, we’ve been called away to war so I’m afraid that isn’t an option. It seems as though this is going to be a long operation. We’re first needed in Umbara, it seems as though General Krell has been executed by the clones. After that we go straight to Mandalore.”
“The clones executed a Jedi General?” Your voice is high as you stand up, heading over to your small closet and quickly rifling through your clothes to find something that would hold up for a few days.
“It appears that he was a Separitast sympathiser. He turned two clone units against each other, forced them to kill their own.”
Your eyes are wide as Obi-Wan continues to explain the situation awaiting the two of you on Umbara, and your heart clenches as you think about what the Clones must have been gonig through during their time there. You know attachments are forbidden as a Jedi, but you can’t help the close relationships you have formed with some of the soldiers. Captain Rex is like a brother to you.
An hour later, you’re holding onto the bar above you as your ship takes off in the direction of Umbara, Obi-Wan looking more jittery than you’ve ever seen him as he paces around next to you.
“You okay, Master? You seem shaken up.”
“I’m fine, young one.” He dismisses you with a shake of your head, “Come with me, we may as well get some training in whilst we’re enroute.” He doesn’t say anything else, just turns away and heads out of the bridge with not so much as a glance back to make sure you’re following him.
What on Alderaan is going on with him?
His mood doesn’t let up during training, you’ve never seen him come at you so relentlessly. If it wasn’t for the fact that they knew you so well, the passing clones would probably assume that the two of you were fighting to the death in your training room.
A cry escapes your mouth as he knocks the saber from your hand, as it clatters to the ground and rolls somewhere you don’t bother to look for, you expect him to stop. However his saber remains active, and he seems to be in a trance of sorts as he swings for you once more, only stopped from making contact with a part of your body when you swing your leg out from beneath you, causing the two of you to fall to the ground with a low grunt from him. His saber falls from his grasp in the same way yours did, and you work on figuring out how to calm him down as his body cages yours into the ground.
The only noise in the room is the sound of you both breathing heavily, and when your eyes finally look up and meet his again you almost feel as though he has used the force to steal your breath away from you. His blue eyes capture yours, not letting up as his gaze seems to only darken the longer the two of you lay there.
You can’t help but be reminded of a similar situation you found yourself in with Anakin a while ago, the two of you ended up tangled on the ground after a round of playful sparring. It was all heavy breathing and dark looks and you remember that all you could think was how much you had wanted him to kiss you in that moment.
So why, Maker tell, do you have the exact same feeling now? You thought that your crush on Obi-Wan had been a silly, fleeting thing back when you first began training under him. You didn’t think it would return with a vengeance, your mind silently asking him to lean down further as you struggle to pull your eyes away from his own. When you and Anakin has been in this same situation, you had hoped that he was going to kiss you, so it was humiliating when he finally tore his gaze from yours and pulled himself away from you with an awkward cough.
You think that Obi-Wan will do the same. Of course he will, he’s the most rule abiding Jedi you’ve ever met.
That’s why, when you feel his lips being placed softly on yours, you think you’re just hallucinating. It takes your mind a moment to catch up to what is actually occurring, your eyes fluttering shut as he pulls away and then presses his lips to yours with more fervour once he realises that you aren’t going to push him away.
The hand that almost struck you with his saber minutes before reaches up, holding onto your jaw whilst the other keeps him steady on top of you. He breathes heavily as he kisses you, your breath minging as you savour the feeling. This isn’t your first kiss, you had snuck out to the clubs of Coruscant before and kissed random boys before, but this was different. This was your first kiss since you had fallen in love with Anakin. All those nights you had spent dreaming, hoping, praying that he would be the next person you kiss. Yet here you are, your lips moving feverishly against your Master’s as you thread one of your hands into the long hair at the nape of his neck.
You must stay like that, basking in the feeling of each other for a good few minutes before a loud bang from the corridor snaps you both out of the spell you had fallen under. Obi-Wan quickly gets up, sticking out his hand to locate his saber, unable to look you in the eye as you slowly rise from your position. Your mouth tingles and your eyes are wide as you stare at the side of Obi-Wan’s head.
He smooths his hand over his beard and mumbles a quick, “That shouldn’t have happened. I’m sorry, Padawan.” before leaving the room hastily. You flinch at the way he says the word Padawan, like he is reminding you both that what you just did was not only forbidden but also extremely morally wrong. You’ve never been one to care about such trivialities, but Obi-Wan is definitely a fair bit older than you, to say the least.
As you catch your breath and find your lightsaber, you think to yourself that it’s good that you were interrupted, because if you weren’t then you might’ve been found by a soldier who would’ve reported what he saw back to the council. You ignore the part of you that wishes you would have continued, that thinks of how well your lips worked together and how at home you felt with his body on top of yours. And most of all, you ignore the part of you that wonders if him kissing you had anything to do with his sudden mood change since departing for the trip.
The rest of the journey is slow and quiet, you take some time to meditate and gather your thoughts, knowing you’re in no state to be dealing with anything important right now. A soldier offers you something to eat but you have to decline, with the way your stomach is turning you know you won’t be able to stomach any food.
Obi-Wan seems to have retired to somewhere quiet on the ship, you don’t see him until you touch down on Umbara. The capital has been captured now, and that is where you will spend the night before heading to Mandalore, however you must first deal with the execution of General Krell at a nearby facility that was taken by the clones.
You walk silently alongside your Master, an awkward tension in the air that is an extreme change from your usual playful banter and general good moods. As you approach Captain Rex and his troopers, he shoots you an inquisitive look, which you quickly brush off with a whisper that you’ll talk to him later.
The situation is resolved quickly, you and your Master both know you can take Rex’s word for the events that transpired, and you make sure Krell’s body is properly taken care of.
“We’ve only got one spare speeder on us, General, so Y/N will have to ride with one of the boys.” Are Captain Rex’s departing words before his gunship takes off towards the capital, leaving you, Obi-Wan and a few more troopers to travel back via speeder.
“You can ride with me, Y/N.” A clone who is about to depart shouts over to you, though your attempt to walk in his direction is thwarted by a sudden, harsh grip on your forearm. You turn quickly, shocked to see Obi-Wan shake his head, gesturing over to his own speeder instead.
“She’ll ride with me.”
The trooper offers no argument, simply saluting the two of you before speeding off towards the capital with a trail of dust in his wake.
You notice that Obi-Wan still hasn’t directly addressed you since the incident on the ship, so you stay quiet whilst climbing onto the speeder, waiting for him to say something. A squeak leaves your mouth when you’re pushed forward, Obi-Wan’s large body enveloping you from behind as he reaches past you to grab hold of the handles, and you’re off before you can even think about what is going on.
“We need to talk when we get back.”
Are the first words spoken to you, and the last, because he quickly falls silent. Though, you can’t help the warmth that spreads through you when his chin rests on your shoulder, his beard scratching your cheek oh so slightly.
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
Dinner in Umbara is a quick affair, you scoff down what you can, not talking as much as usual due to your preoccupied mind. Obi-Wan disappeared after you both briefed Master Windu who is still back at the temple, and you wonder if he is off meditating somewhere, trying to reconcile for the ‘mistake’ that the two of you made.
You’ve been fighting your own inner turmoil about the situation since it happened earlier that day. Once you finish your food, you retire back to the uncomfortable bed in a tiny room at the top of the large building, assuming that Obi-Wan has decided to forgo the conversation and ignore you altogether.
As you lie on the hard metal, your mind wanders over the past few months. You wonder how Anakin would react if he knew you and Obi-Wan had kissed. Would he be angry? Jealous? Happy? Deep down you know you would want him to be jealous, you would want him to be angry at the thought of any other man having you in the way that he wants you.
But he doesn’t want you in that way, you remind yourself. Does Obi-Wan even want you in that way? You know he is a well revered man, and nobody can deny how good looking he is. If he really was looking for a romantic, or even just sexual, connection he could probably find that anywhere - why would he get that from plain old you?
A pang of sadness hits your gut as you think about him regretting the kiss, returning to Coruscant and finding another girl that he would rather betray the Jedi code in order to be with. And with wide eyes and a whisper of ‘oh no’, you realise that this is exactly how you felt when your feelings for Anakin started growing stronger. Just what did that kiss stir within you, surely your years old feelings for your Master haven’t suddenly resurfaced, right?
A knock on your door startles you, that deep in thought you hadn’t heard anyone approaching your rather isolated room.
“Y/N?” It’s Obi-Wan.
“You can come in, it’s open.
He slides the door open, his actions sheepish and small and not at all like the overly confident man he usually is. It pains you to see him like this, stumbling and second guessing everything he does.
“You shouldn’t leave your door unlocked when you’re not on Coruscant, anything could wander in.”
“Sorry, Master.” You’ve shuffled to the edge of the bed now, Obi-Wan sitting beside you, mirroring the exact position you were in when he woke you up this morning. Before everything turned into a mess.
“I… I’m so sorry, Padawan. I abused my position as your Master and I never should’ve even thought about doing something like that with you. Especially after you confided in me about your feelings for Anakin, I don’t want you to think that I’m taking advantage of your vulnerability.” His voice is so shaky that you barely recognise it, and a wave of sadness hits you when you realise that he must’ve been carrying this burden of guilt around with him all day.
“Obi-Wan, it’s fine. You didn’t force yourself on me, I was completely on board when it happened, in fact I quite enjoyed it. I know it was wrong, against the code or whatever, but I won’t tell anybody. Please don’t feel guilty.” You make sure he keeps his eyes on you, a delicate touch on his cheek to keep him faced your way. A sigh emits from his mouth and your heart swells in your chest when he leans his head into your hand, seeking your comfort.
“I’m tired, Y/N. This war, I’m beginning to feel it’s toll.”
“There’s no shame in admitting you need a break, Master, but it’s not just tiredness that is eating at you right now. I know you, there’s something else going on. You can tell me. Is it something to do with Umbara, Mandalore, anything?”
“Thank you for your concern, Padawan, I’m quite alright.”
“Don’t do that, Obi-Wan.” Your voice wavers this time, “Don’t use that title as a way to brush me off. Yes, I’m your Padawan, but I hope that by now I’m also your friend.”
“Jedi aren’t supposed to have friends, Y/N.”
You scoff, removing your hand from his face as you turn away from him, not wanting to look at him as he lies to you.
“I was always jealous of him, you know.” He speaks again, after a few minutes of slightly uncomfortable silence.
“Of who?”
“Anakin.”
You turn back, your interest peaked as he looks at you. You swallow, a blush coating your cheeks as you note that his eyes are as dark as they were before. Before he kissed you.
“What reason could you possibly have had for being jealous of him? Oh, Maker, don’t tell me you’re in love with Senator Amidala.”
He chuckles, “No, little one, I was jealous of him because he always seemed to have your attention when he cared so little for you. I wanted you to look at me the way you looked at him.”
If you're doing still doing angst prompts, could you do "please don't lie to me" or "you're hurting me" for ahsoka and anakin? If not thats totally, fine.
hi, of course!! thank you for the prompt!! // from these prompts
Ahsoka always liked to think that she had explored every inch of the Jedi Temple. When she was young — well, younger, in a time where peace still reigned — she would run through the halls, determined to find every nook and cranny of what used to be her home.
Now, Ahsoka realized that she hadn’t begun to scratch the surface. She was in a place deep underground, colorless walls blurring past her as she hurried towards the fortified door at the end of the hall.
Four Temple Guards stood in front of it, still as statues. Ahsoka halted, trying not to let herself feel intimidated.
“My request to come down here and visit was approved by the Council,” she said, voice echoing around her.
Silently and in sync, the Temple Guards moved aside; the door swung open from within. As Ahsoka walked through, she could hear their voices whispering in her head: You have five minutes.
She shuddered despite the warmth of the air.
The door closed behind her, leaving Ahsoka by herself in a small, dimly lit room. And in the corner of the room, a figure raised its head to reveal Anakin. He gave her a level stare, his eyes a combination of ice blue and Sith yellow.
“So,” he drawled, “the apprentice has finally come to visit.”
It took everything in Ashoka not to flinch. Instead, she warily eyed the Force suppressors that were tightly clad around his wrists.
“I just got back,” she replied.
Anakin’s face twisted into something ugly, something almost inhumane. He snarled. “Please, the war ended months ago, Ahsoka. Don’t lie to me.”
“Fine,” Ahsoka snapped back. “Do you really want to know why it took me so long to see you?”
Anakin’s smile was all teeth. Predatory. “I insist.”
“I wanted to rejoin the Order,” Ahsoka whispered. “The only condition was that I wanted you to continue to teach me, because I missed you. And then I couldn’t feel our bond anymore — I thought you had died. But this?” She gestured to the room, to him. “This is so much worse. What you did…”
“You think the Council should have killed me,” Anakin said, sneeringly.
Ahsoka crossed her arms, trying to look indifferent when all she wanted was someone to comfort her — for Anakin to comfort her. Except it wasn’t Anakin in front of her, only a stranger wearing his skin.
“It would’ve been better,” The words came tumbling from Ahsoka, autonomic. “Seeing you like this… it’s unbearable.”
“Am I hurting you?” Anakin mocked. He leaned back against the wall in an unimpressed manner. “Save me your despair; I’ve already gotten that from Obi-Wan.”
Ahsoka’s heart squeezed painfully. “Yes, you’re hurting me,” she whispered, voice breaking. “Everything that you’ve done… I can’t wrap my head around it. What happened to you?”
“Everything,” Anakin said, and began to laugh mirthlessly.
i heard you were doing requests so i was thinking queen annes lance for hurt ahsoka and anakin please?
Hey friend!! Thanks so much for the ask, I loved writing this one!!
From these flower dialogue prompts
Queen Anne's Lace—"Who did this to you?"
This one also got really long so if you'd rather read it on AO3 you can do that here. Story continued below the cut!!
Stepping off the transport into the Temple hangar, all Ahsoka could think about was getting a hot meal and an even hotter shower. She was exhausted in every sense of the word. She wouldn’t have been at all surprised if, at any moment, her knees buckled and sent her crashing to the floor.
Chewbacca, the Wookie who had been trapped on the moon with them, seemed to notice, and stuck a little closer to her side during their conversation.
Then Ahsoka’s mind was lighting up like a supernova and the crowd parted to give her a view of her Master rushing her way. The mixture of concern and relief and worry plastering itself on his face for all to see nearly had her come undone right there.
There was not a doubt in her mind that he’d searched for her ceaselessly the entire time she was missing. And while, in the end, he didn’t find her—after meeting the abandoned younglings—it meant everything to be able to know absolutely that he tried.
There was Plo Koon, calling her Little ‘Soka with kind words. There was Chewbacca, and a paw on her shoulder telling her goodbye.
And then there was Anakin. Hands on her shoulders replacing the breath-stealing hug he couldn’t give her in front of the Council. His kind eyes deep and searching her for injuries. There were his apologies, and the self-loathing she felt from him turned her stomach.
It had never been his fault. He was the only reason she had survived in the first place.
A sharp, stinging pain on the side of her abdomen had a grimace crossing her face. It was a stark reminder of the adrenaline leaving her body. Of how battered she was after that last battle with the Trandoshan leader.
Not missing a beat, Anakin swept his gaze over her. Taking in the bruises, the dirt, the blood—Ahsoka was sure she looked like hell.
A gentle hand on her shoulder guided her toward the Temple. “Come on,” Anakin said. “Medbay.”
She was too tired to protest, so she followed him out.
Ahsoka awoke to harsh lights. She didn’t remember much of her visit to the Healers, only yelling and a sedative after her injuries proved to be much worse than she’d even realized.
She squeezed her eyes shut, groaning at the aching sensation plaguing her entire body. She could feel the thickness of bandages wrapped around her, smell the cloying sweetness of bacta in the air.
She took stock of her body first. Hefty dressings on her abdomen—A deep swipe of Trandoshan claws. A brace around her ankle—the crack she’d heard upon landing from the dropship. The stiffness of bacta patches pulling her skin—every hit she’d taken that had no doubt left her skin more black and blue than orange.
Slowly, Ahsoka sat up. It took several moments with her hand pressed against her eyes for the room to stop spinning, and only then did she take stock of the presence nearby.
It burned hot and fast through the bond in the back of her mind. An aching pit of anger and fear. And it was coming from Anakin.
She glanced over to see him sitting in a chair next to her bed, forearms braced against his knees. At her movement he looked up, and his face was impassive. Cold in a way she hated to see. Skyguy was always warm. Always wore his heart on his sleeve.
“How do you feel?” he asked quietly.
Ahsoka eyed him. “Like I got run over by a tank.”
Instead of the chuckle she’d hoped for, Anakin’s face only hardened further. He looked toward the door for a long moment while Ahsoka waited in silence.
“Who did this to you?” he finally asked. His voice was still soft but beneath it he was seething. She could feel it in the Force—his anger. It was roiling. A boiling ocean, and if he let it, it would drown both of them.
In one swift movement, he was on his feet. Pacing was nothing new for her Master, but his sharp movements reminded her of the sharks she’d seen on ocean planets. Their body language turned jerky and aggressive right before they attacked.
He pulled to a stop at the foot of her bed, hands wrapped around the bar there. She heard metal creak and couldn’t decide if it was his prosthetic straining, or if he was crushing the hospital bed beneath his grip.
“They won’t get away with this,” he murmured. And now he was starting to scare her. Anakin’s anger was normally a fire. He was explosive in short, sharp bursts that dissipated as easily as they’d begun. But this was glacial. This was something that burned low and slow—an ice that took centuries to melt.
“Master.” Her voice was small, even to her own hearing.
“I’ll find them. They don’t get to hurt you like that and just—”
“Anakin.” Her shout brought his attention back to her. His eyes were wide and surprised like he hadn’t just been plotting murder right in front of her.
“Stop it,” she whispered. “Please.”
“Ahsoka, they—they hurt you. They hunted you like an animal.”
“Stop it!” she repeated when his hands began to curl into fists once more. She didn’t remember when she started crying, but warm tracks of tears were falling down her cheeks. “I need you more than you need revenge right now.”
She didn’t truly know if it was her tears or her words that caused Anakin’s face to fall, but suddenly he was her big brother again. All warmth and safety and strong arms that wrapped around her and pulled her against his chest.
She sobbed, finally falling apart after the terror she’d suppressed in order to survive finally came through. Anakin just let her, a gentle hand sweeping up and down her back, careful to only ghost over the many bruises littering her skin.
She clutched his tunics in her fists, not caring about the tears and snot probably staining them. He wouldn’t either. She knew he’d let her ruin all his clothes if that’s what she needed. Ahsoka felt him settle next to her on the bed, and readjusted her position so she was leaning into his chest, one of his legs behind her while the other dangled towards the floor.
“I’m sorry, ‘Soka,” he murmured into her montrals. “I’m so sorry.”
A few moments, or perhaps hours, later, her breathing finally returned to normal. Heaving sobs dissolving into the occasional whimper or sharp breath. Healer Eerin came in at one point to change Ahsoka’s bandages.
She stared numbly at her wounds as the Mon Calamari woman redressed them, and Anakin kept a soft hand on her back the whole time.
When she was finished, the healer took both of Ahsoka’s hands in hers and looked Ahsoka straight in the eye. “Rest, little one,” she said in the soothing, calm tone all the healers had. “You are safe now.”
Anakin nodded his head at her, a soft “Thanks, Bant,” leaving his mouth.
Ahsoka curled up against him again and let him rock her softly side to side. His chin came to rest in the valley between her montrals and she gave a soft laugh. The action never failed to amuse her, mostly because Anakin had taken to doing it in the first week of their partnership, simply to remind her how small she was. It had started out annoying—had Ahsoka wishing it was appropriate to hit your Jedi Master—but ultimately turned endearing, a way he kept her close.
“You’re safe, Snips,” He repeated Healer Eerin’s words in a whisper. His presence, surrounding her physically and in the Force, only emphasized his sentiment. “You’re home.”
She didn’t recall falling asleep, but she rose to wakefulness still in Anakin’s arms and now covered with a blanket. She was still tired—still hungry and sore and in need of the longest shower of her life—but something in her soul had replenished as she slept.
Ahsoka glanced up to find Anakin still awake, his head turned toward the window and staring out into the distance.
He looked down at her and grinned. “Hey, kiddo. You hungry?”
“Starving,” Ahsoka muttered. “All I’ve eaten for a week is bugs.”
For a moment Anakin stared at her blankly, then he started laughing. “Don’t knock it till you try it.”
“I did try it,” she deadpanned. “I’m knocking it.”
Anakin shook his head, messy hair flying into his face. It was more unruly than usual, and with that observation came others. The bags under his eyes were darker and more prominent. His face looked pale and gaunt—like he’d been eating as randomly and poorly as she had. His shoulders were still lined with tension.
She resisted the urge to sigh. Anakin had always been terrible about taking care of himself. From the minute she became his padawan it was always a team effort between her, Rex, and sometimes Obi-Wan to get him to sleep.
It appeared her capture had only exacerbated his bad habit.
“Obi-Wan should be back soon with Dex’s.”
“Thank the Force,” she breathed, deciding not to push the issue for now.
And speak of the Sith Lord and he shall appear. Master Obi-Wan pushed through the door to her room in the Halls of Healing only a beat later. His arms were laden with two takeout bags that read “Dex’s Diner” in big, red letters.
Obi-Wan settled onto the end of her hospital bed, placing the bags down between the three of them. Ahsoka practically scrambled away from Anakin to begin rifling through the food.
A plastic cup containing something thick and pink then settled into her line of sight. Ahsoka nearly squealed in delight at the milkshake. “Thank you, Master Obi-Wan,” she smiled.
“Yes, well.” His voice was the same cool, Coruscanti tone it always was, but his eyes were unbearably fond when he grinned at her. “Only the best for our little padawan.”
Obi-Wan dished out some more food—Anakin’s spicy curry, his own favorite pasta. Ahsoka’s nerf-burger with extra bacon and no vegetables just the way she liked it.
At the first bite, she nearly cried at how good it tasted.
“Here, Anakin.” When she looked up from the culinary miracle she held in her hands, she saw Obi-Wan with his arm outstretched, another milkshake—this one chocolate—in his hand.
Anakin took it slowly, eyebrows furrowed. “I don’t remember the last time you bought me a milkshake.”
Obi-Wan shrugged, looking away briefly before his eyes rested on Ahsoka for a moment. “All things considered, I thought you could both use something sweet.”
“Oh,” was the whispered answer out of Anakin’s mouth.
Breaking the silence that was quickly descending from nice to awkward, Ahsoka finished the last bite of her nerf-burger. “Is there more?” she asked quickly.
Broken out of their spell, Anakin laughed and handed her another foil wrapped burger. As they ate and talked and laughed, together again, Ahsoka glanced between the three of them.
Her time on the Trandoshan moon was already fading into a distant memory. And even if it came back to haunt her, Anakin and Obi-Wan would be there to help her through it. With strong arms and warm hugs. With soft smiles and milkshakes.
Anakin took a sip of his shake, slurping loudly through the straw. Obi-Wan fussed at him about “decorum” and “manners.”
Ahsoka smiled. She was home, now. She’d be okay.
Chapter 1 of Unfrozen?
Summary: You once were a General and a Jedi Master fighting against separatists alongside the clones, the next darkness clouded over and life passed in a flash, and before you knew it you’re waking up with no memory running for your life.
A/N- I’ve had this idea in mind for some while and wanted to share it with all of you. You let me know if you want another part :) I’ll be willing to write more for this!
Pairing- Hmm well I’m stuck, either Poe, or Rey, or well the other mystery character that you’ll discover in this chapter. But if you want no love interest. I’m down for that, (let me know!)
Warning- mentions of violence, angst.
——
“Please, it's me, General Heart!” You exclaim hoarsely, looking wide eyed and terrified at the clones all with their blasters pointed at you. They seemed strange, their armor was missing their individual markings, you couldn’t recall what exactly they were, or their names, but you knew that they were missing something. They looked different.
“Stand down Jedi scum!”
You gasp and stare at them baffled. They keep coming towards you and that’s where something in you sparked, something telling you to run. So you did, you swiftly slipped past them and began to run for your life, feeling your heart in your throat, and your breathing heave, tears slipped past your eyes and mixed with the icy water already rolling down your face.
Everything told you not to stop, every muscle in your body told you to run, and a faint voice in your head told you the same. “General run and don’t look back! I have your back. Always...”, more tears stung your eyes and that voice lit your adrenaline, causing you to run faster. You slipped on the ice on the ground, but you picked yourself every time, you continued speeding from the echoing footsteps, gasping as you saw an incoming waterfall. You were already soaked and freezing, but there was no other choice, you ran past and felt the icy water crash over your entire body, making your stepping much clumsier.
But you couldn’t stop, you kept running.
Albeit, you made the mistake to look back, tripping over an ice chunk and suddenly bumping into something hard, but softer than ice. Nonetheless you finally got knocked off your feet and fell to the ground with a hard, painful thud. Your eyes fly to the face that belonged to the body you bumped into and more terror mixed in your expression; two other people came up behind him, all three however with weapons pointing at you. One though, one of them had a lightsaber in hand, a familiar lightsaber.
“Please!” You plead to the tan man with dark curly hair in front of the pair, “you’ve got to help me! Clones...my clones, they turned against me, they’re trying to kill me!”
The tall dark skinned man with darker and curlier hair behind him tilts his head and his eyes look at you hard and confused, he looks to the man in front of the pair and whispers, “Clones?”
The girl with them, the one with the lightsaber walks past the pair and looks down at you with a perplexed expression. “She—”
Before she could finish what she was saying, she cuts herself off at the sound of the multiple loud incoming footsteps. You jump to your feet and slowly step back, finding your hand instinctively go to your side and reach for something cold and metal. Once the clones finally come to view and point their weapons at you and now those three behind you, you press a button that activates the hilt and shows a blue burning blade. You heard two gasps before one of them remarks on the amount of clones. “Damn, what did you do?”
You look at him over your shoulder and that’s where you spot another squadron of clones storming your way. Coming from every direction.
“You three rebel scum, give us the girl and we’ll let you live.”
The brunette with the lightsaber steps forward and pushes you behind her. “I don’t think we will.”
The same clone trooper with the gravelly voice that had spoken before speaks again. “I think she’ll want to come with us. We have someone she might be interested in. Her beloved Commander Snow that we got out alongside with her.”
The name rings a bell, but you can’t seem to really figure out who it was. You wanted to picture a face, but your mind came out blank; “I don’t know who you’re talking about. What’s your name, clone?”
“Clone?” The same trooper spits, “you might be more lost than the Supreme leader imagined.”
“Could she be the thing, the key, General Organa told us about?” A deep voice asks behind you in a whisper.
“It’s her.” Another voice behind you answers.
“Give her to us, now, we won’t ask again.”
The same tan man steps in front of you and remarks to the comment. “Don’t worry about it, you won’t have to.”
The remark makes you snort and reminds you of someone, but again you can’t come up with a face.
Yet before anything else could happen, the girl slowly eyes you over her shoulder and then up to the sky. “When I say jump, you jump.”
Your gaze narrows and you look at her completely lost. “Jump? Onto what? Air?”
The woman glares at you and then at that instant you hear the sound of an incoming ship and the girl then give you her signal. “Jump!”
You hesitate, but find no other option and listen, bending your knees a little before jumping high and holding onto the ramp that barely showed within the clouds. The two men follow along, both clumsily hanging on and pulling themselves onto the platform. You follow by doing the same, rejecting the help they offered and in one moment from the other seeing the girl land successfully next to you, pulling you inside the warmth of the ship and closing the ramp before she runs with you in hand to the cockpit. “Hit it Chewie!”
The ship zooms forward and avoids the blasts coming its way, once you’re in space, the Wookiee doesn’t hesitate to jump into hyperspace, leaving the cockpit in silence and a bitter cold temperature that leaves you shivering as your wet clothes stick to your body.
“You must be cold,” the girl directs to you, walking out of the cockpit and leaving you with the other two men and the Wookiee staring at you with a wondering gaze.
“What’s your name?”
“I,” you part your lips, wanting to give an answer but finding you can only remember a nickname and the title that belonged to you. “I don’t remember. But I do know that they call me, General Heart. Who are you?”
Both men look to each other and then one of them decides to speak first. “I’m Finn, this is Poe Dameron.”
“Commander, Poe Dameron.” The tan man makes clear.
The Wookiee speaks and introduces himself as “Chewbacca.”
You offer them a small smile and before you ask more, the girl returns with clothes in hand, looking at you and pushing them towards you. “Here, change, or you’ll get a frostbite.”
“Okay, thank you.”
“You can go change inside the room down the hall, in the second door to the left.” She suggests while she points out of the small cockpit.
You follow her suggestion without hesitation, desperately wanting out of your uncomfortable, soaked tunic and cloak that weighed heavily as water soaked it completely. It took you some time since the fabric stuck to your skin, but once you managed to wiggle yourself into the new change of clothes, you were relieved and finally finding warmth. Before you could leave the room however, you stopped in front of a small mirror hanging on the wall, parting your lips as you let out a gasp when you couldn’t even recognize your own face. You reached your hand to feel your skin and it was still cold to the touch, some warmth returned to it, but it was a slow process. Your eyes however studied your face and watered once you found no familiarity to it, or anything, your mind was completely blank, it hurt to even try and remember anything.
So avoiding any more pain, you walk out and return to the cockpit where before you could sit back down, a droid bumped into you, beeping at you wildly.
You blink down, but again find no familiarity.
“That’s Artoo,” the girl reveals, “he seems excited, he seems to know you.”
Your eyebrows knit together, you attempt to remember who this droid was, but nothing came to mind. “I’m sorry. I don’t remember you.” You turn to the girl and ask for her name. “What’s your name?”
“Rey.”
You hum and nod. “Do you know who I am? What year are we in?”
“What do you remember?” She questions, turning the attention back to you.
“I,” you breathe as you sit down and rub your forehead, seeing flashes of your last moments that did stick to your mind. Pain and confusion was the only feelings you recalled. Nothing else beside that. “My-my clones, one minute we were peacefully returning to our ship, the next they…” fear returns to you, and again blurred memories flash in your mind. “They suddenly turned against me. They tried to kill me. My commander...commander Snow he tried to save me for some reason. Unlike his brothers he didn’t have the need to kill me. Where am I? Where’s commander snow? What happened?”
All of them look at eachother and the droid whirs softly, he rolls to you and calls your attention so you'd look at a hologram he spit out. One of a single bearded man with same cloak you had worn. Your eyes stung and unlike many other things you could remember every single detail about him. Even if his image was blue and a simple hologram, you knew him and found solace in seeing his face. You knew his name, “Master Kenobi…”
“This Master Obi-Wan Kenobi. I regret to report that both our Jedi Order and the Republic have fallen. With the dark shadow of the empire rising to take their place. This message is a warning and a reminder to any surviving Jedi. Trust in the force. Do not return to the temple, that time has passed. And our future is uncertain. We will each be challenged, our trust, our faith, our friendships. But we must persevere. And in time a new hope will emerge. May the force be with you.”
Tears stream down your face, and you stare at the hologram completely taken back. You slowly stand up and reach for it, as if you could physically the touch of your old Master. It takes you a moment to grasp what you heard, but you remember hearing this message once upon a time.
You avoid looking at the people watching you and the message alike, and continue watching the hologram, muttering to the droid in a soft voice. “Play it again.”
Ahsoka couldn’t stop staring at him.
Vaguely, she knew some things about her lineage, although honestly, it always had felt like it was just her, Anakin and Obi-Wan. She knew a man named Qui-Gon Jinn had been Obi-Wan’s master, and that Anakin sometimes wouldn’t shut up about that guy. She knew that Count Dooku was Master Jinn’s, which was just so weird to think about, especially him being part of their lineage. Or supposed to be. It made some sense, on some level, she supposed, because Dooku had kept complimenting Master Obi-Wan, and she had even heard that the man tried to turn her grandmaster. It sounded ridiculous, Master Obi-Wan ever leaving the Order.
Master Obi-Wan didn’t talk about his own master that much. Apparently, he hadn’t even met Count Dooku until he had left the Jedi and the war was about to start. Anakin had only known Qui-Gon for something of a week and didn’t know him that well, despite the way he talked about him, one would have thought that he was not only Anakin’s hero but also knew him for a long time. She supposed it made sense that Qui-Gon would have had other padawans before her own grandmaster, he had achieved the rank of master and was around the age of sixty by the time he had died.
If Master Obi-Wan knew about Qui-Gon’s other padawans, he didn’t really say anything. Although then again, they had been in the middle of the war. There was not a lot of time for that sort of thing.
She wondered if Master Obi-Wan knew about Feemor.
Somehow, she kind of doubted it.
Ahsoka and Feemor had been sequestered in one of the rooms in the Healing Halls, as the glue on his cut was drying and she was trying to get her mind back in working order. She hadn’t answered him when he said he was Master Obi-Wan’s brother. She had just stared at him for a moment before completely changing the subject. He seemed to get a hint of some kind and didn’t pursue it. He told her that Rex was either prepping for or in the middle of a surgery, that it wouldn’t take very long as it was a rather straightforward and short surgery and explained a little more about the chips that had been in the clones’ heads. It made her sick. If Rex or any one of the 322nd had gotten those orders during flight…if Master Obi-Wan hadn’t warned her…she didn’t want to think what would have happened.
The fact that Commander Cody had attacked Master Obi-Wan seemed insane enough.
She wasn’t thinking of Anakin when she spoke again, and it had been nearly half an hour. There had to be something more to that. Perhaps he had a chip in his brain. Ahsoka couldn’t even imagine a thought on why Anakin would murder children without being forced.
“What do we do now?”
Feemor looked up at her, but he didn’t seem to have an answer. She figured he would suggest going back to the fight. It was a horrifying choice, she didn’t want to fight anyone, much less the 501st. They were her family too.
“We prepare,” a new voice replied, calm and stern.
Both Jedi glanced over. Rex was in his blacks, standing tall with a bandage slapped on the side of his head where the incision must have been. He looked scared and tired but determined.
“What do you mean?” Ahsoka asked.
“They have the near entirety of the 501st legion,” Rex pointed out, grimly. “Even with defensive positions and the defense of the Temple itself, the Jedi can’t hold out forever, especially with most of their warriors being out in the field with the rest of the troopers.”
“Evacuation,” Feemor pointed out, stroking his chin as he glanced at the floor in thought. Ahsoka stared, as it was rather reminiscent of Master Obi-Wan with the same action. “When Obi-Wan contacted Kamino before the battle started, he mentioned that we may have to flee. He also mentioned it when he talked to one of the troopers in the 212th, warning them about communications. I think he was certain we would have to. And I think he is right.”
Rex nodded, even though he had shot Master Feemor a look Ahsoka couldn’t identify. “Us three aren’t going to be a lot of help in the battle itself. We have to trust the leaders who are doing it for the moment to keep the others at bay. But we can get a head start on preparations for evacuation.”
“Obi-Wan’s 212th knows,” Feemor added, gesturing above them. “They are blocking all communications so they can’t get Orders. From what we can gather, the chips are activated when the Sith Lord says certain things and then can be activated if a clone trooper is near an activated chip of another. So right now, the 212th is relatively safe. The only problem is, I don’t think we will be able to contact them. If they followed Obi-Wan’s instructions, there is only one clone with communications, and I don’t think he will accept anything from anyone but Obi-Wan.”
“Let me guess,” Rex said in some sort of tone that was a mix of amused and flat. “Waxer or Boil.”
Feemor blinked. “Uh…Boil I think.”
“Knew it,” Rex muttered with a faint smirk. Given an odd glimpse, Rex just shrugged. “Pretty sure those two are General Kenobi’s favorites.”
“We should contact Jesse and the 332nd,” Ahsoka added, quickly. She already got up from her cot, a little dizzy, but continued to move. “We may still be able to save them.”
Feemor shrugged. “Alright. I’m sure Master Healer Che would be okay with us using her office for a holocall,” he continued, following Ahsoka into standing. Without another word, he turned towards the door. It took a few minutes to find her office – Ahsoka didn’t really know off the top of her head, but they did.
Ahsoka clicked in the number for her ship, Jesse and Echo’s forms popping up in the signature holo blue. “Commander!” Jesse greeted. “You just took a shuttle and hightailed it out of here. What happened? Were you going after Maul? You should have brought back up!”
Feemor glanced at the young togruta. “No. I didn’t go after Maul. Jesse, have you gotten any communications from anyone planet side?”
“No, sir. We blocked communications like you ordered. We weren’t entirely sure what you wanted after you left,” he admitted. “What is happening?”
“No, you did good,” Ahsoka assured. “There is a lot going on down here. I don’t have a lot of information but there are chips in every trooper’s head’s and the Sith has been using that to brainwash them into killing Jedi.”
Both Jesse and Echo’s face fell as they stared at her wide-eyed. “Tup.”
“Yes.”
“Fives was right then,” Jesse whispered.
“It appears so,” Ahsoka replied mournfully. “It seems the orders are transferred verbally from a single source and then passed on as one chip is activated, they all do according to proximity.”
“We need to get them out,” Echo hissed.
“I agree but things are…bad down here.”
“Bad?” Echo questioned, warily.
Ahsoka hesitated but Feemor answered for her. “The 501st legion is laying siege on the Temple, killing Jedi.”
No one said a word for a long minute.
Feemor continued, speaking in the silence. Ahsoka didn’t know what to say, how could she? “We are going to be evacuating once we can press the troopers back and have an opening. You need to be ready to flee when it happens. I’m very sorry but if you stay, the Sith will enslave you.”
“I understand, sir,” Echo’s voice was quiet and soft. “We will be ready for your communications and ready to come down and help if necessary.”
“Thank you, troopers,” Feemor replied. “We wanted to warn you about this before anything happens. A lot of soldiers are activated but please, don’t give away your location. We can’t help your brothers without a plan, and we don’t have enough people to do anything yet.”
“Understood, sir,” Jesse muttered.
“We have to go,” Ahsoka finally chimed in. “I will contact you soon.”
The holo blinked out. “I know that was hard, Ahsoka,” Feemor said quietly. “And we will save as many as we can.”
“We have supposedly been trying to do that for the entire war,” Ahsoka grumbled bitterly.
Rex came to the rescue. “We should move.”
“We should rescue Anakin.”
Feemor’s head snapped so fast, both nearly thought he would break it. “Save him?” he asked, with emphasis. Rex tried to get them through the door and out of the office. He mostly succeeded. “What does he need saving from, Ahsoka?”
“I think he might be chipped,” she replied, a bit defensively.
“You think he might be chipped.” Feemor echoed, flatly.
It appeared Rex didn’t really know where he was leading the two Jedi, but all he knew is that he needed to get them moving.
“Yes,” Ahsoka pouted, her lip curling. “He was my master. I know him. He would never do something like this.”
“He is leading a massacre on the Temple, against the Jedi, against his family,” Feemor added. Rex shoots an uneasy glance at the both of them, slowly working through the halls.
“He wouldn’t… there must be some explanation.”
“What possible explanation could there be for this?”
“You don’t know him!” Ahsoka snapped.
“You’re right. I don’t,” Feemor agreed, fighting to remain calm. Tensions too high would do them no good, even she knew that. But she was frustrated, and this was much all too difficult for her to understand or wrap her head around. It didn’t make any sense. “But I don’t need to right now. I saw him lead the siege on the Temple. I saw him cut down Jedi like they were nothing. You and I both saw him murder a defenseless youngling and young padawan. They were children,” he pointed out, bluntly. There was no sugar-coating the truth. Rex’s jaw clenched as he looked behind at the two of them again. Feemor shook his head and his voice softened. “This is what it means to be a Jedi, putting others’ lives above that of one, above oneself. You didn’t see the look on Obi-Wan’s face when he had to fight Anakin.”
Ahsoka stared at him, her feet moving without her even noticing.
“He knew,” Feemor shook his head softly. “And it was tearing him up inside. You don’t have to trust me or take my word for it, but you should trust Obi-Wan. He does know Anakin. Better than you.”
She hated that he was right; that if anyone knew Anakin, it would be Master Obi-Wan. He raised Anakin since he was young. But that didn’t mean she wanted to believe it. There was nothing to be said for a few moments before Rex stopped in his tracks and the two jedi nearly ran into him. “What is it?” Ahsoka asked.
“Do you hear that?”
Once they settled into silence, they could hear faint banging against a door. The three of them ran down the halls towards the sound. It became apparent once they got closer, the door moving as someone was throwing themselves at it, furniture and debris blockading it. They all looked at each other curiously. As Feemor and Ahsoka used the Force to move the debris, Rex readied his blasters. The two Jedi swung to the sides of the hall, just out of sight. As the door unlocked and opened, several troopers fell out.
“Good soldiers follow orders,” one of them mumbled.
Rex narrowed his eyes, slamming the butt of one of his guns hard against him, knocking him out. Feemor and Ahsoka ran into the brief fray as well, Ahsoka tangling around one of them to knock him unconscious while Feemor sent a wave of a force suggestion to the others.
“These are 501st,” Rex realized.
“The Jedi have been trying to trap them instead of kill,” Feemor answered. “We should get them to the Healing Halls to get their chips removed. Perhaps they can give us some information on how to stop the attack.”
Ahsoka didn’t look at him for a moment but quickly hooked her arms underneath a body to move it. Rex and Feemor had an easier time but eventually, they had gotten the troopers to the medical rooms. Ahsoka didn’t leave their side as Feemor found a med droid free and practically pushed the droid over.
The surgeries were quick and efficient; it didn’t take much.
When the first soldier came to not a couple of minutes later, he had immediately burst into tears which quickly turned into full out sobbing. Rex looked a little shocked but knelt at the soldier’s side. “Hey, it’s okay, you’re okay now,” he tried to comfort him. It was to little prevail, as the trooper just kept crying into his hands, his shoulders shuddering and his chest heaving heavily. Feemor reached out towards his presence and projected better feelings. Calm, safe, peace. It only helped a little, as it was enough that the trooper could get himself to speak.
“We thought we could trust him,” the trooper let out, gritting his teeth. He was quaking near violently, trying to gasp in breath. “We thought he cared. About us…but…he…he doesn’t.”
“What are you talking about?”
“What is your name, trooper,” Feemor approached and asked, quietly.
“CT-.”
“Your name,” Feemor urged, softly.
“Impulse, sir,” the soldier responded, trying to keep down his cries. The tears still came but the sobs had died down.
“Hello Impulse, my name is Feemor. Can you tell us what you mean?” he asked, keeping his voice soft, although the jedi was fairly certain he knew who the trooper was speaking of.
“General Skywalker,” Impulse winced. “He…he led us on the Temple. We just killed everyone. No one is safe.”
Ahsoka’s face twisted. “He may be chipped or something, like you. We don’t know what is going on,” she tried, quiet and gentle.
The trooper stared at her, wide-eyed. “He was so angry when the Jedi put down ray shields at the doors and he couldn’t get in quietly. And when the jedi there spoke, he got frustrated and lashed out. He took my brother’s head clean off. He was just…just standing there! No one could do anything, no one even could even flinch! His head and helmet rolled to my feet. He was my batchmate, my best friend!”
Rex put a hand on the trooper’s shoulder and muttered quiet apologies but everyone could see his body became as stiff as a board. Ahsoka was nearly in tears as she stepped back, wide-eyed and horrified and Feemor stood up and ushered her away and out of sight of the two soldiers. She shook her head again and again. “It’s not possible.” She sounded more like she was talking to herself than anyone else, trying to convince herself that it couldn't be true. How could it be true?
“We don’t know what is going on yet,” Feemor assured but even he knew he didn’t sound very convinced. Ahsoka was fighting everything. From what she had learned, the chipped clones had been trapped inside themselves, unable to do much of anything outside of orders. Unable to express or speak when wanting too. Anakin seemed to be the opposite. But how could what she knew of Anakin be so wrong? “Is there anyone you can speak to for any insights or answers?”
“Padme,” Ahsoka replied, in realization.
Feemor’s eyes narrowed, confused. “Who?”
“Senator Padme Amidala,” Ahsoka repeated. “She’s a friend to the jedi and Anakin’s friend.”
She said friend like it meant something different. Ahsoka was pretty sure he understood what she meant. Ahsoka bounced back into Che’s office, the older master on her heels. She clicked in another number, but it took a few moments for the youthful face of the Senator to pop up. Her expression washed away into something of relief and joy when she saw Ahsoka. “Ahsoka!” she greeted.
“Padme,” Ahsoka smiled. “I have a lot to ask you and I’m not sure if I have much time.”
Her face turned to confusion. “What do you mean?”
“I’m on Coruscant-.”
“You are? Have you seen Anakin?”
Ahsoka frowned. “You don’t know where he is?”
“He has been acting stressed for the past couple of days. Obi-Wan has seen it too, he came to visit me about him the morning before he left to Utapau. Anakin has been under a lot of stress and having nightmares…I don’t know…”
“Nightmares about what?”
Padme hesitated.
“You can tell me.”
“I’m pregnant, Ahsoka.”
Although Feemor was off screen, he and Ahsoka exchanged looks. He wasn’t nearly surprised as Ahsoka thought he should have been. Did he know?
“He’s been having nightmares about me dying in childbirth,” Padme confessed. “He said he had found a way to save me, even though I told him I wasn’t going to die in childbirth. The likelihood of that, here, is…well, it doesn’t happen. Ahsoka, are you alright? It looks like there is smoke and fire coming from the Temple.”
Ahsoka glanced down. How to explain this. “The clones are chipped and brainwashed. They are leading an attack on the Temple.”
Padme gasped. “How? Why?!”
“The Sith have control over them,” Ahsoka’s eyes darkened at the thought. “But…that’s not all. Padme, Anakin is leading them. He is killing Jedi, masters, Guards…younglings.”
Padme’s eyes widened. “That is impossible, he would never do such a thing. You’re wrong. He wouldn’t, he couldn’t!”
Ahsoka couldn’t meet her eyes, but Feemor caught hers, a silent question passing between them. She steadied herself and looked back up. “I’ve seen him killing younglings,” she whispered, voice hoarse. “I…he’s turned to the Dark Side.”
The Senator just stared. And stared some more.
“My apologies, Ahsoka, someone is at the door. I must take my leave,” her voice was just a bit wavering, but she somehow kept a straight face. Ahsoka opened her mouth to try and stop her, but Padme interrupted her with little emotion aside from a strained voice. “I will call you later.”
Without anything else, she turned off the call.
Ahsoka swallowed. “I have a bad feeling about this.”
No Body, No Crime | a.s.
Tumblr media
As soon as I heard No Body, No Crime from Evermore, I had to write this with him. This is my first test of writing for Anakin - please be gentle. If you enjoy, let me know! I intend to make most of Evermore into a growing series for different SW characters! The first of them is below!
i may have played with the lyrics for a bit
long story short, i survived - din
***
He did it.
He did it.
Your eyes flicker out to the awning in which Padmé Amidala stands. The cool air of Coruscant is tinged with something out of place tonight, something that makes the hairs on your nape stand to attention, and your watchful gaze flickers out to the skyline where you can usually spot the Jedi Temple in all its majesty.
The image of the skyline is tainted by the sound of screaming and the sight of fire encompassing the spires that usually stand so proud against the Coruscanti sky.
From where she stands beside you, Padmé Amidala bursts into tears and wraps her arms around the growing swell of her stomach. Part of you wants to say you aren’t jealous, that you don’t wish that was you carrying the child of Anakin Skywalker, but the part of you which desires - Jedi don’t desire, they don’t have wants or needs, they simply ARE - buries that feeling deep down and dredges the rage back up to the surface.
It’s so hard to believe that the same man who left you in charge of his pregnant wife, who was not so defenseless as he thought her to be, to return to the Temple - the same place you were both raised, the same place that saw the way you looked at him when he wasn’t paying attention - and inevitably be the reason it is now on fire.
Or so you think.
Padmé’s a friend of mine
We meet up every Tuesday night for dinner and a glass of wine
Before the war, you were a Jedi Knight who had great influence with many of the Senators in the Senate. It had been how you’d met Padmé Amidala to begin with - at the tender age of fourteen when you had not been much older then she was - and had orchestrated the protection she’d received from Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker.
Known for your sharp tongue and even more clever mind. Maybe that’s why Anakin took an interest in you.
Padmé’s been losing sleep
Her husband’s acting different
And it smells like infidelity
Anakin Skywalker had not been much younger then you when you met. Still a Padawan himself, he only had the eyes for Amidala and often reminded his Master of that. You’d spent many a nights with Obi-Wan Kenobi on the terraces of the Temple in deep conversation about his struggles training such a head-strong Padawan.
Then the war had come, and so had Anakin’s padawan. Starry eyed Ahsoka Tano who was barely thirteen years old and having a difficult time believing she was the apprentice to the Chosen One.
You’d never called him that. It made him too prideful, too arrogant. It was unfortunate that he was so often the topic of your dreams when it was clearly obvious he was tightly wound around Padmé Amidala.
To you, he was the same boy you’d met all those years ago before a woman and the war had changed him beyond repair.
Still, you never spoke of it. Never spoke of the way you’d watch him train his padawan in the salles, never about the way he commanded an entire army with just his fierce devotion and loyalty to the clones, never about the way you felt when he made you laugh, never about how he made such a reputation for himself that the galaxy began calling him The Hero With No Fear.
And here you were, having been one of the people who made him, just another Jedi General fighting on the front lines of a war that seemed to be going on forever.
  “Master? Can I ask you something?” It had been Ahsoka to bring it up one day late on the fronts of Felucia, a mission that you’d been assigned to accompany Anakin and the 501st to with your own battalion of clones. You were among the best Jedi General with the lowest casualty rates besides Anakin and Obi-Wan and he’d advocated specifically for you to join him and the rest of the 501st.
The real reason why you’d said yes was because he said he missed you.
  “Absolutely, Ahsoka.”
  “You know... The Jedi has taught me my entire life that we’re not supposed to have attachments. We’re not supposed to love. I’m not sure how to do that.” Ahsoka wrung her hands in her lap and lifted her eyes to where Anakin sat on the opposite side of the fire with Fives and Hardcase, mouth stuffed with ration bars and fingers pointed at you. He was probably telling some confounded story about the three missions the two of you had taken together. One of them had ended up with you nearly stuck with a Gundark and her mate, but that’s a story for another time. “How long have you?”
You still marvel at the fact that she was that intuitive.
  “Have I what?”
  ‘’Been attached to Master Skywalker?”
That question had struck you so hard that you hadn’t quite been able to answer her the way she’d wanted. When had you accepted the fact that you were just a leech on Anakin Skywalker’s back - someone who he’d never see because his gaze was always on Padmé - desperate for his affection that he was never going to return? What the point of running after someone who’d never chase you just as recklessly?
  “I guess I always run to the people who aren’t willing to run back to me.”
From that point onward, you’d vowed to bury your feelings for Anakin Skywalker as deep as they could possibly go. There was no point in entertaining a fantasy. That’s all it was. A fantasy.
This moment, however, is anything but.
When Anakin comes back to the apartment at 500 Republica, Padmé rushes out to meet him. You’re perched in the sitting room that is swathed with shadow as you keenly watch their short lived reunion. The Force is ringing with alarm. Like it’s trying to tell you something.
  “Are you alright?” Padmé asks, concern laced in her tone as she grasps his arms like her life depends on it, gaze sweeping across his face as she scans him for any injury he may have obtained. “I heard there was an attack on the Jedi Temple, you can see the smoke from here!”
I think he did it
But I just can’t prove it
I think he did it but I just can’t prove it
You’ve never had a hard time being able to read Anakin. He was always so bright and receptive to both the Force and other Force sensitive people, always tuned into the feelings of people he cared about most - and victim to the destruction of his own heart that so often got him into trouble - and now as he stands mere feet in front of you, you find it akin to staring at a wall.
It’s blank. All of him is blank. All those micro-details that had fabricated the very existence known as Anakin Skywalker is as bare as the skies above Coruscant, now filled with smoke and screams.
No, no body no crime
But I aint letting up until the day I die
  “What’s happening?”
  “The Jedi have tried to overthrow The Republic.” Your breath catches in your throat at what is so very obviously a lie, and your heart immediately reaches out for the presence of dear Obi-Wan Kenobi who happened to be off-world in the midst of the destruction.
The Force had spared him. You.. however... you remain unaware on whether or not it’ll spare you from what inevitably comes next.
I think he did it
People who aren’t quite sure of who they’re supposed to be are so very easily manipulated.
  “I can’t believe that-” Padmé argues, ever the intelligent, and shook her head at her husband’s accusation.
  “I saw Master Windu try to assassinate the Chancellor myself,” Anakin replies. Blue eyes swept into the sitting room undoubtedly in search of your form to ensure someone he trusted was still looking out for his beloved. “Are they still here?”
Padmé nods. Your devotion and loyalty to both the safety of her and her child reminded her so fondly of Sabé - her Queen’s Shadow from her time sitting on the throne on Naboo - and she desperately hoped that would not end with either of you in a grave.
  “You trusted the right person with our secret, Anakin.” Padmé murmured. It was rather unfortunate that he happened to choose the same person who was trying to fight the way they felt about him. Padmé ached for you. She’d been in that very same position once. “But what are you going to do?”
  “I will not betray The Republic. My loyalties lie with The Chancellor, with the Senate, and with you.” The lack of your name should alarm you. It doesn’t. Given what’s currently occurring at the Jedi Temple, which is where you should be, you are not surprised that he’s forgotten your presence. Forgotten you.
Anakin’s eyes fall on the sitting room. Just as he tells Padmé of the next phase of his plan, the darkness he is growing so accustomed to feeling is lit with the sight of a glaring emerald lightsaber.
  “What about them?”
You emerge from the room to stand upon the landing platform. Padmé’s lips are poised to call out your name, to beg you not to hurt him, but the very fact remains: This thing standing in front of you is not The Hero With No Fear. He’s something else entirely. Something dark, something fake.
And darkness goes against everything you have ever stood for.
  “I don’t know who you think you are.” Your voice is laced with anger as you move forward, not a drop of fear in your aspect, all while keeping your blade trained at Anakin’s chest. Your mind is screaming at you - this is anakin, he’s been broken, stop stop stop stop stop you LOVE him! - but you’re too concerned about the darkness that curls around his bones and makes its home within him to listen to your heart. “But if the Jedi who are currently screaming right now are dead at your hands, I will come back and find you. I will be your end.”
You press your hand against Padmé’s. Her eyes widen at the feel of a blaster against her palm, nearly the same as the one Saché had hidden within the throne during her first year as Queen. She hears your voice clear in your mind, be careful.
Anakin has one last thing to say to you before you depart. “If you return to the Temple to save the Jedi,” He calls out, voice monotone and lacking any of the depth and warmth he so often reserved for you and Padmé and Ahsoka. “You will be marked a traitor, and I will find you.”
Your fingers curl so tightly around your lightsaber that your knuckles turn white. Your stomach threatens to drop as reality finally catches up with you: This thing currently inhabiting the body of Anakin Skywalker is far from the same boy you’d harbored feelings for. Far from the man you’d wished he could’ve become.
  “I’d like to see you try.”
The last time Padmé Amidala-Skywalker sees you is the night of Operation Knightfall. She’s more then aware of the way you look at her husband, but your love for Anakin is not her concern. It’s how he could never love you back.
The last time Anakin Skywalker sees you is before he loses himself to the Dark, gives into his thirst for power, and becomes Darth Vader.
I think he did it.
***
Padmé wasn’t there
Tuesday night at her apartment
At her job
Or anywhere
Somehow, someway, Sabé contacts you. She seems to be aware of your relationship with Padmé prior to the fall of The Republic and so presses you on the details she has been deprived of - seeing as how she’s been with Tanaka for months by that point - and how she had just... died. With no warning, no logical reason, the woman she had dedicated her life to serving was dead.
Your memory still haunts you with the sights that you’d been greeted with upon landing on Mustafar. Her half-dead body carelessly tossed on the landing platform, head lolling on her shoulder, eyes fluttering as she fought consciousness.
It had been you who had given her solace aboard her starship, and it had been you to hold her daughter.
  “You were the closest to my Lady and Skywalker!” Sabé snaps over the holo, and you wince at the bite in her voice. It’s been weeks of sleepless nights and living nightmares. You’re not sure you aren’t hallucinating this entire conversation anyway. “You are truly telling me you are unaware of how she died?”
She thinks I did but I just can’t prove it
You have theories. Theories with no evidence to make them facts.
No... no body no crime
  “I don’t know how she died, but she did.” Your hardened gaze lands on the former handmaiden. “And now it’s up to you to protect her legacy, Sabé.”
   “Amidalans.” Sabé nods gravely at the moniker and hangs her head. “That is what we will call those who guard our Lady’s tomb. Amidalans.”
  “She told me about you all the time. We are brave, your Highness.” You feign a warm smile as she meets your eyes. “There’s never been a better time to be brave for your Lady then now, Sabé.”
That is the last the former Handmaiden of Amidala hears from you. She will go on to form the Amidalans, the guardians of Padmé Amidala’s tomb upon Naboo, and will even live to survive Darth Vader.
***
The Force had spared you. Until today. Today you stand on the ground of a planet you never thought you’d find yourself apart of, today you stand in the ruins of a Sith Temple with two survivors of Order 66 and the youngest Force sensitive you have seen since the genocide of the Jedi.
Today, your soul knows what is coming. The inevitable.
I wasn’t letting up until the day he...
The name you had given Kanan and Ezra was not your real one, even despite what Ahsoka had claimed about knowing you. She knew you well. After the brief argument that had occurred in light of that news, you’d taken her aside to disclose that you’d briefly joined the Empire and had been an Inquisitor under their ranks after you had been found. Among the best of them.
You don’t tell her about how they broke you. About how he broke you with the way he towered over you, the way his fingers danced across your cheek and the way his lightsaber had burned itself into your arm. His kyber crystals had called out to you. Had weeped for reprieve.
Neither of you found it. In front of you, The Sith Temple is alight with emerald and white light.
No, no body no crime
I wasn’t letting up until the day he...
We are brave, Your Highness.
No, no body no crime
  “I always said I would be the one to end you.” You call out. Planted in place by Ahsoka, you disengage your saber in favor of both you and his former Padawan using your words to beckon to the person who laid within the suit. “I still fully intend to keep that promise. You’re not-” Tears prick your eyes as you turn your head away from Vader. “You are not the man I would’ve ripped the galaxy apart for.”
  “Anakin Skywalker was weak. I destroyed him.” Vader tilts his head. He’s clearly proud of himself for something. “And I destroyed you as well. What a shame. You were among the Empire’s best.”
I wasn’t letting up until the day he...
  “Yeah, you did destroy me.” Ezra watches in awe as both you and Ahsoka engage your sabers, a blinding flurry of green and white light, and take your defensive stances against the Sith Lord. “And now we will destroy you, in honor of him. In honor of Anakin.”
You launch yourself right at the ghost of Anakin Skywalker. He is a mirage, a fake, a shell of darkness that once housed a being you could have sworn was made of pure starlight. Of love.
So much for fantasies.
died.
A Clone’s Desire
You were a rookie padawan who’d finally been selected after a long waiting period at the jedi temple; you were more than a bit excited to finally be out in the field, not like you didn’t enjoy master Yoda’s company and his wise teaching but you couldn’t help but tremble at the idea of being with your very own master and a trooper squadron. Which is why you were superstitiously checking your reflection in the mirror; you wanted everything to be perfect because apparently there were going to be a few 501st clones in you’re squadron, your heart raced a mile a minute as you began scouring your features in the mirror for any kind of flaws.
A knock at the door made goosebumps spread across your skin; you were both nervous and afraid and about two seconds from puking but you pulled yourself together, swallowing the lump in your throat you reached for the bathroom handle with trembling fingertips.
 “Your a secret weapon, your going to help the jedi and end the war you are amazing” you muttered to to yourself trying to hype yourself up; you side eyed yourself in the mirror taking one last glance over you’re general appearance, you were dressed in a sleeveless black crop top with a little patch in the middle revealing a bit of cleavage.
A leather utility belt sat lopsided on your waist right above a pair of baggy black camo pants with about fifteen pockets; you had a dozen different varieties of trinkets shoved in your many pockets, Yoda loathed when you did that, always saying how it would anker you down. But you always brushed him off mumbling something along the lines of I got this; taking a deep breath you tried to make yourself stand tall as you opened the door to your room, you glanced around your room making sure everything looked right. Sniffing the air you sighed thankful it smelt decent; another knock on the door made shivers dance down your spine but you slapped your cheeks and put on your tough face, “one minute” you called out as you stood in front of your bedroom mirror trying to decide if you looked presentable. You checked your dark skin in the reflection and tugged the scrunchy from your lucious {h/c} allowing your beautiful curls to spill down your back and along your shoulders, after tearing your eyes away from the mirror you briskly walked towards the door and ripped it open before you could second guess yourself for the fifth time. Standing in front of your door frame was an auburn  haired man with a small beard dressed in nearly all white robes; the only color on him being his reddish shoes and brownish undergarments and piercing blue eyes.
“Ah I see you’ve finally decided to join us [Y/N]; well I hope you're ready for your first mission because we leave in fifteen minutes, but first I’d like you to rendezvou with the troopers and introduce yourself. We’ll be holding a mission debriefing in ten minutes in the cockpit; please do try and make sure every detail is crucial on the battlefield. Oh and uh welcome to the team padawan I look forward to working with you. Lets hope you turn out better than Anakin”, he muttered that last part more so to himself you weren’t exactly sure what to do so you bowed and mumbled a soft “yes sensei”.
He gave you a cheeky smile before walking down the corridor and disappearing down a hall, casting one last glance to the mirror you sighed and forced yourself out the room, you weren’t exactly sure where the clones were. So you kinda wandered aimlessly until you bumped into one dressed in a bulky white suit with the occasional splashes of orange decorating his helmet and armor, at first he didn’t notice you no one ever did. When you were designed you were significantly shorter than most of the clones; standing at a measly five feet and four inches but what you lacked in height you made up for in curves.  Finally noticing you the trooper took off his helmet and saluted you giving you just enough time to scope him out; he had tanned skin rich brown eyes and a short raven colored buzz cut, a strange marking sat just above his right eye and you held back the urge to trace it with your fingers. “Hello, I’m Sergeant Cody but most people just call me CC-2224, you must be General Kenobi’s news padawan..um [Y/N] was it?”
 As his eyes shifted to you, you felt yourself shrink under the intensity of his gaze. The way his chocolate eyes bore deep into your soul almost made you feel naked, “uh yea that’s me” you managed to squeak cursing yourself for sounding so cowardly. For a second his brows lowered as he looked and took in your features but it vanished as quick as it came, however you noticed this and grumbled softly you knew that look all too well. It was that aren’t you a bit young to be a padawan? Which you despised, “I’ll have you know Sergeant Cody I’m twenty” you spat venom creeping into your tone, the look of shock on his face was equally annoying but just like before it melted away so quickly if you hadn’t been paying attention you wouldn’t have noticed. Yet another gift from your makers; most people mistook you for a fifteen or sixteen year old and it was fun at first, but it quickly got annoying. You both just stood in awkward silence, you glaring at him while he avoided eye contact; it wasn’t until another person came up to you that you stopped your death stare and he seemed to sigh in relief.
The approaching male was tall with cream colored skin, short brown wavy hair swept backwards and soft blue eyes, he had a tiny little scratch on his left eyebrow and a cocky looking smirk etched on his features. Unlike the other males you’ve seen he was almost completely dressed in black, or at least a very dark brown you weren’t exactly sure but you weren’t given much time to dwell on it due to him swinging one arm around your neck and pulling you in for a nuggie.
“Hey, squirt look at you all grown up and ready to become a jedi it pleases me that you’re my replacement” he hummed while deliberately ruffling your hair, at first you were dumbfounded and very pissed off that this random douchebag not only forcibly hugged you but also messed up your hair you worked so hard to neaten. But your anger quickly fizzled out as realization settled in and your frowned only deepened, “oh Anakin it’s you how ya been?” You asked, trying to readjust your hair as he let you go and began walking making you and Cody follow, “well you know squirt the usual” he said motioning with a flick of wrist into the air.
 “So getting in trouble and causing problems for everyone else” you sang earning a snort from Cody quickly covered by a discrete series of coughs, Anakin’s cheeks turned a soft shade of red for a moment before he brushed your comment off “they call it trouble I call it creative thinking”. “No I can assure you there’s nothing creative about your fighting methods, it's just destructive” a familiar voice interjected into your conversation, you turned to be greeted by the same warm smile from your sensei as he waited leaned up against a wall surrounded by a couple of troopers.
 Anakin just scoffed and slapped you on the shoulder a bit roughly; “this guys a riot you're sure to have an amazing time under his watch” the sarcasm in his words was so thick you could almost feel it. Obi Wan just rolled his eyes at his former pupil and motioned for you to enter the cockpit, the meeting began and you just kinda sunk into the back as the generals and the troopers made plans. It’s not like you weren’t paying attention but you just felt so out of place here amongst all these skilled soldiers; sure you were well trained.
I mean freaking Yoda supervised you in the temple, but you’d never been on the battlefield before and it was kinda frightening. “First time in the meeting room” a gentle voice voice whispered, snapping you out of your train of thought, shifting your gaze to your right you were met with a Togurta with bright crystal blue eyes, peachy orange skin and beautiful whit markings scattered across her face.
“How can you tell” you mumbled while letting out a breath you didn’t know you were holding; she smiled and pointed at your fingers drumming against your thighs, ‘oh that’ you thought to yourself of course your body betrayed you it always has. “Yea, I’m fresh out the temple” you whispered and she nodded slowly eyes flickering back to the talking men, “well you don’t have to be so nervous we’re not doing anything to dangerous just pushing back a couple of seppies out of a potential base area” that calms you down just a little bit.”Doesn’t sound to hard” you mused with a soft smile on your face “don’t jinx it” she hissed confusing you, “what?”
 She looked at you with a quirked brow “haven't you ever seen a movie, whenever someone says oh that was too easy it gets significantly harder so don’t jinx it”, you nodded in understanding just as you both got called on the carpet, “I’m sorry are we boring you ladies or do you have something to add to the battle plans?” You heard the girl next to you swallow thickly as all eyes turned to both of you and you felt slightly responsible, so stepping up you tried your best not to try and sound like an idiot, “Um well actually we’re trying to push our way into separtiest base right?” A soldier dressed in white and blue gave an acute nod all the while glaring at you with his chilling golden eyes, “well I think it would be wise if I was on the frontlines while the troopers distract the seppies I could sneak in and create an opening for them” you added hopefully but were met with hard stares.
“And just how would you go about that padawan?” The clone in blue growled through his helmet you didn’t need to see his eyes to see the look of doubt written across his face, this annoyed the crap out of you and you allowed a bit of spite to slip into your voice “oh well simple that’s a need to know bais trooper and woulda look at that your not on the list pity”.
You poked out your bottom lip and faked a tear as everyone kind of stared at you in shock; you swear you saw Obi Wan’s eye twitch as he muttered something like oh great and Anakin just had the cheesiest smile on his face. He wrapped his arm around your neck again and pulled you in for a hug; “did I forget to mention we were best friends at the temple”, everyone in the room seemed to tense at that knowledge and General Kenobi sighed. “Lucky me then; that’s not how you speak to your superiors [Y/N] but we’ll talk about that later, just what do you have in mind miss [Y/N]?”  You smiled confidently and crossed your arms across your chest pushing up your breast a smidge, “well like I said I’m not supposed to go talking about it willy nilly sensei orders from the jedi council, but I can tell you and general skywalker but that’ll have to wait because we have a mission just trust me I got this.”
 The blue clone scoffed a bit watching how intensely General Kenobi was watching you, “you can’t be serious general you're going to leave this to a shiny padawan” he spat a little louder than intended sensei stroked his beard before sighing. “The jedi counsel sent her to aid us even though she’s fresh she must be capable of extraordinary things, I’m trusting you [Y/N] the whole republic is counting on this base can you really accomplish what you're saying?” You felt pride swell in your chest as saluted him “Just leave it to me sir they don’t call me blitz for nothing”, the ride down to the planet was filled with silence as you mentally prepped yourself for the upcoming battle “here goes nothing” you muttered softly as the doors to the dropship creaked open.
