Remus and Riella being rivals

Riella's family is from Unova and bears a blessing from Meloetta, giving them alluring voices and a natural skill with singing and instruments. When she moved to Galar to get away, she began hiding her skills and gave up singing in hopes of distancing herself from her heritage.

Remus is from Galar! He bears a Hero's Mark- a sort of blessing from Zacian and Zamazenta- that essentially makes him much more sensitive to moves, abilities, and all other things that affect Pokemon. On one hand, he has to be careful to avoid things that usually wouldn't affect humans. On the other hand, he's naturally stronger and more resilient to 'normal' human dangers!

Both have some degree of heightened communication with Pokemon due to their respective blessings. Not a rare skill by any means, but neat!

We made their teams but we don't have the screenshots rn so someone remind me to grab those from Discord tonight please.

Hi!! I'm poking you for stuff about Ulle because I want to see how she'll get along with Remus and Riella :D

Honestly, She would absolutely want to get to know both of them! I think she could at least somewhat relate to them (Since she passes as a regular person, But she is actually a dragon).

Ulle herself sometimes struggles with fully trusting people since the relationship between humans and dragons over the past few centuries has been... Complicated.

But once you do have her trust, You'll likely have her as a friend for a very long time! Just don't break that trust or... Let's just say a dragon's rage can run deep.

But they weren't always a duo.

In the crowded markets of the Dead Drop, you, Tomas, and Riella carved out a corner of the world together. More an adopted sibling than best friend, you were forever a part of their get-rich-quick schemes as they scrambled for more—whether you liked it or not.

But one day they set their sights higher than they ever had before, and they weren't about to climb that ladder without you. The night they asked for your help was the night you disappeared. In the twenty years since, they've gotten everything they ever wanted...and all they had to do was break their promise.

Tomas: Caribbean-American male. 6ft1, lean. Looks to be in his early forties. Medium brown skin with dark brown eyes. Black, textured hair shaved short with a rectangular hairline. Thick, dark eyebrows and an angular face with sharp jaw and cheekbones. Job-focused cybernetics, including subdermal armor, jackpoints on his neck and temple, reflex boosters, and a NetDeck interface rigged to his forearm and optics. His dream as a kid was to become a doctor, but he decided he wasn't nearly smart enough for it.

Keeps a secret diary on her NetDeck; she'd absolutely flip her shit if someone read it.

Hates elevators—it's part of the reason she got a grappling hook installed...just in case.

Struggles with bipolar disorder; Tomas convinced her to finally get on mood stabilizers.

Ita way too early to be awake so have some random tidbits! I am so fucking bored-

Riella's scared of the complete dark. The time she spent in the ragged Toppat cells way back when made that fear much worse. The room she shares with Remus is never kept quite pitch black- all sorts of nightlights and fairy lights and glow-in-the-dark decorations for her to choose from. Remus appreciates it as well, with his tendency to get up through the night.

Remus is very sensitive to people fighting, and gets pretty spooked by it. He can handle the yelling and combat of the field- even enjoy it, sometimes- but as soon as he catches the start of an argument at home? He's upset. He never really voices it, but he very much starts emotionally shutting down and dissociating. Usually Remus will leave the area, beeline for someone or somewhere safe, but if he can't? He'll just sit there and take it. Riella's gotten very good at identifying it, and luckily therapy has helped him not to struggle quite so bad with it, but lets just say Terrence's enthronement had him fucked up for weeks.

Welllll!! While they both still run heists, their official roles aren't actually heist focused!

Riella is technically part of the medical team, using her Siren Song for sedation and easing pain. She primarily works one-on-one with individuals, especially with difficult situations (i.e. prisoners or enemies, non-humans, etc.). However, she does still run heists, using her song to make enemies turn on each other or forget the Toppats were ever there! She also goes out of her way to try and help her clanmates however she can- both with and without hypnosis.

Remus, similarly, is a jack of all trades-type member. He helps with raids, transport, and ferrying messages. He'll act as a guard, or help subdue prisoners, and his wolf form makes for a great scout. He tends to stick with Riella when he can, for obvious reasons!

Their first heist together was... A rough one. Randy was the head of the heist, there was horrible communication, shit hit the fan, Riella tried to throw herself into enemy fire. They had already started a spark of a friendship, but Remus dragging an injured Riella from the frontline, hunching over and guarding her with his own body, growling that she wasn't dying, not on his watch? That is what made her start falling.

“Did it work?” 

Riella’s voice trembled with excitement as she looked around, a hopeful smile on her face. The ritual hadn’t been entirely clear, with pieces missing from Billy’s old journals, but the couple had attempted it regardless. Contact with the ghosts of former Toppats would be an incredible advantage for the clan as a whole, after all! What’s the worst that could happen- it doesn’t work? They accidentally cause a tiny little fire like the last time? They’d be fiiiine.

“I dunno.” Remus was far more wary as he scanned their surroundings, hair standing on-end and a deep frown on his face. He knew something had changed, felt the wrongness in his gut, but there wasn’t any visible change. Riella frowned and pulled her hands from his to flick through the journal, reading the spell carefully once more. “Maybe a missing ingredient..?” She muttered under her breath.

The flickering candle flames between them had turned silver, the temperature had dropped a smudge, the humming of electricity was undisturbed… all just the way the journal had described. Why wasn’t anything happening?

Riella would absolutely adore Amelia by sheer measure of "CHILD!!! BABY!!!!!"

Amelia would kinda hate being called a child ("THAT'S ONLY IN ANDROID YEARS! IN HUMAN YEARS THAT'S A LOT!"), but she would probably like Riella (partially b/c she senses some form of familiarity in her since she was kinda based on Reg from my understanding).

Amelia has had father figures and brothers and sisters, but never really a mother figure in her life, so having Riella around is a nice change of pace (at least until, depending on the timeline, Ellie comes around)

They are the type of friend to come into your house and finish your food or steal your lunch. Riella is the one keeping the peace between Alaric and Kia. She is trying her best to learn sign language so she can understand Kia and talk to her. She is noisy, talkative, obnoxious sometimes. Riella also tends to make a big deal out of small things, both good and bad.

Yes, she believes in luck. Her lucky colour is yellow. Its why she has a yellow handprint on the back of her leather jacket which she wears to her heists/capers

Katara x Aang? How long did it take for Katara to pick up on Aang’s feelings? Like, until the latter half of season 3? Come on, girl! I know there was a war but he used Sokka’s fishing line to make a replacement necklace for you!

Izuku x Ochaco? Have you seen these two blushing together because of each other?! They’ve got to become Heroes, I understand, but they really gotta learn how to pick up on those cues.

Kyouhei x Terumi? They are childhood friends and both mutually crushing each other but so deep in denial. They’re in deeper than the Mariana Trench. At least they’re cute together.

Ryouko x Okami? Okami doesn’t know anything, much less feelings of love. Ryouko knows that she finds some people pretty but she hasn’t wrapped her head around the idea of actually being in a romantic relationship.

Nozel x Helia? Helia cannot for the life of her see how Nozel loves her (mostly because he’s terrible at showing it but that’s beside the point)! Nozel is full aware Helia loves him but I doubt he’s aware of his own feelings.

Inosuke x Shizuka? Inosuke was raised wild so he’s got no idea what these soft, fuzzy feelings Shizuka makes him feel are. As for Shizuka, it’s half she doesn’t realize she’s in love and half she doesn’t want to be in love.

Eijirou x Haruka? distant, hysterical laughter Everyone but them can see how much they love one another! They both go: “Wait, they like me? Wait, I like them?” Children, please, you are worthy of love and your feelings aren’t a burden to others!

So yeah, you could say I’m familiar with this trope.

Suzume x Takayuki by you, @cringeyvanillamilk! Okay, okay! Maybe I’m really a tiny bit biased towards this ship because I’ve written content for this ship before but I can’t help it! They’re such lovely characters and the things you’ve shared about them with me just makes me stupid with love for your characters. These two bring out the best in each other. These two find love in one another despite the frightening reality that brought them together. Their awkward start and eventual happy ending get me so soft!

Look, I love Inosuke and Eijirou. They’re my favorites in their respective series, but I love them platonically.

Okay but if I have to involve all three: marry Nozel (sorry Helia), platonically kiss Eijirou on the forehead/cheek (he’s still with Haruka), and try to kill Inosuke (not sure if I should be more scared of him or Shizuka in this scenario).

It's going to be so heartwrenching but also confusing for MC, because you can't make me believe that after 20 years of being mentally and physically experiment on (being open up, having phantom pain on wounds that were here but no more because of the healing, not having the notion of time because you don't technically aged and because they don't tell you) is not going to mess up with your mind thus memory, like not remembering someone of the past like this condition where the person see a stranger face on a relative or just blurry.

I just know they are beating themselves up and the fact that Tomas was if I remember still searching for us for idk how long argh -sarah

The divide between Then and Now and how closely MC can still identify with their former life is definitely a key theme I'll be playing with!

I think of all the Origin NPCs, Tom and Ri took the disappearance the hardest :( Because with Mrs Sim and LOVEJOY, they had hopes for MC but it was a 'fly the nest' kind of deal. They wanted to guide MC to a point where MC didn't need them anymore.

But Tom and Ri had PLANS and DREAMS to live out with MC! So there's way more of a gap in their day to day. They really were the three musketeers!!
