Aita for not making any of my characters, that I have to crank out daily, pansexual/polysexual/omnisexual specifically and only making them bi?

🏳️‍🌈👶🏼 so i can recognize this later lmao also I'm not panphobic or anything, this isn't about the validity of the label, pan is fine.

So i (20snb bi) have a project I'm working on where I take all the characters from a specifc media I'm into and pair them up with each other to make every possible ship kid from every possible ship(excluding characters who are kids themselves or are related or something, that shit is gross). Basically taking every character and pairing them up with another and creating a kid I think they'd have. Its a big project with lots of characters and I'm easily over 400 at this point. I really enjoy this, even if I'm not even 25% complete.

However I set a schedule for myself that at least one ship kid needs to come out each day which, considering I draw them, color them and give them some development and some even have siblings, (The refs themselves easily take me an hour to an hour and a half) I have to make lots of them quickly to keep up with my daily grind. I've been doing this project for over a year and although it's stressful, I can get them out quickly with breaks for myself.

Their character sheets all have some pretty basic info like their name, gender, pronouns, personality and more but it also includes their sexuality/orientation. I have a pretty basic list of options for what their sexuality will be: straight, lesbian, gay, Enbian, bi, Aro, ace and aroace with a few random things like polyam, WLW and a good amount of the something-loving-something/juvelic terms. I did this because, well, there's not many entirely unique orientations outside of them and although I love mogai/xenogenders and complex identities, I dont want to potentially drag up discourse or bring problems to my budding art blog over it. Its just not worth it to me to turn something I really care about on its head, even if I like microlabels.

In this case, I'm using bi as an umbrella term as most of the other terms share the same definition with slight variations in wording or action but not much difference in practice. We all like everyone, it's basic stuff. However, apparently this is a problem.

I've gotten one or two anons asking me questions about my guides asking some kind stuff like is this lesbian ship kid a butch or femme or Is this picture of them now or just at the age you put on the ref and other harmless stuff. Then things got rude with some Nbphobia but thrice now I've gotten asks:

1. Asking snarkily if im a panphobe

2. insulting me for not specifically writing pan or Omni and just writing bi.

3. Saying that I "clearly dont care about pansexual representation." Then brought up how my primary oc is native american so i clearly care about representation but that oc used to be a sona and I'm native?? Its confusing. (And Lowkey racist shit to just assume any native character is a "diversity quota" character instead of just a person existing but I digress-)

Im not pan, im bi so ig these people assume I'm not cool with pan people which isnt true? I have nothing aginest them, they are just pretty similar and I dont feel like it matters if they are specfically bi or pan or poly or any other label. I don't go into details like that for any other sub-group, not even pronouns and I included combinations and some common Neopronouns. I understand the importance of representation but my project has less than 50 people looking at it every day, Im not netflix or something. I'm one guy on the most LGBT blogging site with a big project and very little audience, I'm not showing people who wouldn't already know what pan is that pansexuality exists.

This project isn't that deep considering the characters in question aren't human/dont have human characteristics.(no it's not hazbin/helluva) Also ive never spoken about lgbt discourse or stated anything remotely close to it beyond the guides just passively having characters who are an LGBT identity. I've not even mentioned all the potentional orientations they could have so I'm not sure where/why this came up in the first place. The most politcial things ive said are calling out a creator in my fandom who outed themselves as a transphobe and mentioning im pro-palestine. That's it.

I mean this is pretty low stakes, I can just block these people and be done with it and this some seriously online shit but I just wanna check.

Am I being an asshole for just writing bi instead of specifying their mspec label because I have to produce characters quickly and I don't see enough of a difference to warrant a change/specification that would ultimately slow and clog an already stressful and complex project?

As long as someone’s specific depiction of the ship isn’t abusive, they shouldn’t get flack for it. However, if you ARE someone who romanticizes abusive versions of these ships, please get out.

Also note that due to my nebularomanticism (arospec umbrella), I do not know what the fuck romantic love is supposed to feel like or look like, the lines between strong platonic bonds and romance are so blurry they barely exist for me, and such- all of my ships are queerplatonic in some way. I have never seen any ship as solely romantic and I don’t think I’m capable of that. But I also do not limit the types of intimacy I depict these characters having. If you’re not ok with queerplatonic kissing or holding hands or other forms of “romantic gestures” or if you think they can’t exist, get out. I’m honestly getting tired of the term “ship” and all the baggage it holds. I just want these characters to be happy and get along and be close. I’m tired of exclusively romantic connotations. All of that being said, once again, proshits GET OFF MY LAWN.

Keep in mind that while my art and personal works ARE here, this blog IS a personal blog. I DO vent on here and often talk about personal topics. Be aware. Doodled one of the first Sonic ocs I made, Rusty, otherwise known as Pup-Pop. Will make a better ref of him one day, but wanted to show my progress. Ill write a bit about him under a read-me!

Rusty is a toymaker of a small town and remained there even after his son, Red, grew up and left for a life of adventuring. Rusty wrote letters to his boy, which he responded to but perhaps not as much as Pup-Pop would like. He focused on his work, but he grew lonely, and eventually wondered what adventuring would be like. Finally deciding to travel the world, he ventures out, still giving toys to those he meets. After meeting Sonic and co. he stays around there for a while, learning more about Eggman's plots and how he's hurt people. Pup-Pop, seeing the danger the youngins face everyday, decides to become a part of the effort, turning his toys into weapons to help. He's not used to this line of work, and he feels severely outclassed by anyone and everyone, but he knows he's doing it for a good cause. One thing that makes stuff awkward is how much he reminds others about Mr. Tinker. He tries not to fall in that shadow, as far as he's concerned he's just trying his best. Eggman especially grows to despise the constant reminder of his past life. When Pup-Pop isn't being a handyman, toymaker, and making weapons, Pup-Pop tries to help by offering a kind hand and a listening ear to those around him. After raising Red, he usually knows the right advice to give, and the right activity to get their minds off of their worries. Eventually, everyone around him calls him Pup-Pop, which he's honored by.

Pup-Pop worries about his son a lot, wondering how he's doing and where he's been. But as long as he can build a more peaceful world, he thinks his son will be fine.

I find that my content has been going through a bit of a dry spurt recently in both fics and art, and I honestly wanna focus on getting back on the wagon. Keep in mind, my main thing is EUM/ENM tho, so the more removed from that context it is, the less likely I'll draw it.

EUF/ENF is totally fine to request! While I focus primarily on male and M/M content, I'm not averse to drawing women and have done so in the past for friends and servers I've been on. But again, my main thing is dudes, so if you want ENF content, it's inherently less likely I'll draw it from a request.

Don't be afraid to request fics in addition to art! I know the folks here on my main blog aren't the same folks I have on AO3, so while you might not be familiar with my writing, I do write too! So if you've seen my stories or a few of the drabbles I've put up on this blog, feel free to specifically ask for some fanfic too!

I do OC requests! If you want me to draw your OC in a fun and lewd sort of scenario, feel free to ask! Now, that being said, you may not be able to show me what they look like in an ask, so in the case of OC requests, I would prefer if people just messaged me directly and sent me refs of what their OCs look like. My dm's are always open, so don't be afraid to pop in and tell me about your amazing characters :D

Lastly, and this is a really big one, don't be a dick! I'm doing these requests for fun, and if people are assholes about it and stop making it fun, you'll ruin it for everybody. Dont. Be. A. Dick. Try not to get entitled about requests, be rude about how I draw certain characters, or anything that you wouldn't be comfortable saying to an artist or writer face to face. If nothing else, this is the rule you should follow MOST. Now, everyone here has been super kind and sweet, so I doubt this'll be a problem, but I wanna have this here so I can tap the sign when somebody is rude.

How do you make a submission?

Three ways!

Option A) as a submission

Option B) as a question

What kind of cats can you submit?

Pretty much any OC. Cats from the main Clans, cats from fanclans or Clangen. AU characters are also accepted.

Is there a victim count limit?

Yes, the limit is 103

(This does not include cats killed by massive events, such as plague or water poisoning-- it is only for those who kill cats individually).

Do you have to fill in everything?

Preferably, yes, but some things can be answered vaguely. For example, family can just be “unnamed mother, unnamed father,” and their mentor can be “unnamed mentor”

Other things, like Aliases / Nicknames or Cautionary Tale can be answered with ‘N/A’ or ‘??’

Things that must be included are: 

--Name, 

--Picture, 

--Characteristics (basically, their reason and [optionally] personal info)

--Victim Count, 

--Murder Count (if killed),

--Murder Method or Method of Harm

--Cause of Death,

--and most importantly, Story

Do you have to make a ref?

Nope! 

Picrews, cat makers, or anything, really, can be made so long as the design itself belongs to you and is not taken from someone else’s art without permission.

Does the length of the story matter?

As long as the story is told, you’re fine! It can be a few sentences to several paragraphs.

There are moments where cats without stories are posted, but that’s generally unrecommended and only acceptable if the submitter already has at least one cat that does have a story,

Any other rules?

Nothing too strict! Just things like

1) try to avoid giving someone too much power, like cats using chainsaws. If it’s realistic in terms of the Warriors universe, it’s all fine!

2) on the topic of realism, please try to keep designs such. Unique patterns are more than welcome, I just mean avoid cats with unnaturally green fur or giving them mohawks (unless it’s a joke submission, in which case go crazy!).

3) not so much a rule, but some stuff written in stories may be deleted and replaced with a vaguer description if it contains themes such as sexual violence or particularly dark abuse. Murders, however, will always be seen in its gruesome light.

I know for a fact I've written an old version of Telysia doing *exactly* that so. So probably her. I don't think the updates/changes I've made would change her so far that she wouldn't go investigate abandoned buildings without letting anyone know. I think she'd still do that

32: Which one of your OCs would be the most suitable horror game protagonist and why?

HMMMMMMM asha. for two reasons. a) arguably if it had gone differently her actual canon could be considered horror (given the demon possession. just happened that the demon was friendly, sort of) and b) because if we're talking post-azar for her it's because a good amount of her self-preservation has been sanded down by knowing and surviving azar. also i think she could win

they're (one of) my AHiT OCs but they're also the only one I've... written... anything about that wasn't... like. exposition? sort of? they're autistic and they spend most of their time in subcon's swamp and they love frogs and they're technically supposed to be dead. holding them up my beloved silliest guy

BECAUSE I REMEMBERED ABOUT IT A COUPLE WEEKS AGO azar's adhd. azar's incredibly undiagnosed, unmedicated, unmanaged adhd. there is so much happening in their head at all times and they are constantly chronically understimulated and have been like this for a millennia. is it any wonder theyre chaotic? no. they have uncontrolled adhd and insane amounts of power with which to cause problems with. once they're living with asha post-story asha kinda looks at them and goes '...this guy probably has Something going on up there' but she also does not know how you would go about getting a diagnosis for a centuries-old chaos deity so they just kinda don't do anything about it. azar discovers energy drinks and this is the closest theyve gotten to medicating or managing their brain stuff for pretty much their whole life. they have a whole system to do necessary things like chores once they're living with asha and a lot of them end up happening at bullshit hours of the night/morning. asha has insomnia so they both just sort of work on a schedule which is shifted Hours off of "normal." asha's classes are either in the afternoon/evening or completely online. azar just doesn't sleep but they also straight-up dont have to cause they're, once again, a centuries-old chaos deity. they meet literally anyone else and its so incredibly obvious that the two of them are a little to the left but almost no one jumps to the (correct) conclusion of 'azar = khashya = a god/demon' most people just jump to the neurodivergent conclusion and they're fine to leave it like that (even if: it is also true). i think they're so funny

Yes! If you want to suggest something for me to draw feel free to, however this does not mean I am guaranteed to draw it. This includes OCs as well! Gimme their ref and I might just draw them. :) I also take constructive criticism or feedback. For example the following would not be constructive: "The hands look weird". This is just saying you don't like a part of it and doesn't actually help much. However if you were to explain why they look weird or give a suggestion on how to avoid any mistakes i made in the future, that would be helpful and allowed.

If One Of My Posts Is Misinformed, Improperly Tagged, Accidentally Offensive etc.:

You always have permission to correct me or ask me to tag something! Of course this is not an excuse to be rude to me! Just explain/ask politely and 99.99% of the time i will comply with what it is you are asking of me! I try my best not to say anything wrong but sometimes i'm just not properly informed about something, so if you have to energy to let me know what i did wrong feel free to. Even something as simple as linking to an article or research about it so you don't have to explain it yourself is fine.

I can't control what becomes a comfort media for me. If the creator is a bad person i just do my best to never support them financially, I never buy merch, i pirate the show, whatever i need to do to avoid giving them a cent. And sometimes i don't even know the creator is a bad person. But i try to always be critical of the content i'm consuming and i'm always willing to admit it's flaws.
