Angular is a leading JavaScript framework for developing web apps. It offers a number of advantages that make it well-suited for building Microsoft Office Add-ins. One of the key advantages is its ability to build complex and large-scale applications with ease. Angular's architecture, which is based on components and a hierarchical structure, allows developers to break down an application into smaller, reusable pieces, making it easier to manage and maintain.
Another benefit you may find with Angular is its flexibility. The framework provides a wide range of built-in directives, services, and modules that can be used for Microsoft Office Add-ins development, and its modular design allows developers to easily add or remove functionality as needed. Additionally, Angular's flawless two-way data binding and dependency injection support help to make the development process more efficient, by reducing the need for boilerplate code and making it easier to manage the application's state.
The support for Typescript is another important aspect of Angular that makes it suitable for building Office Add-ins. TypeScript is a typed superset of JavaScript that makes it easier to write robust and maintainable code. It also provides support for classes, modules, and interfaces, making it a better choice for object-oriented programming.

Warnings: non/dubcon, stalking, and other dark elements. My username actually says you never asked for any of this.
My warnings are not exhaustive but be aware this is a dark fic and may include potentially triggering topics. Please use your common sense when consuming content. I am not responsible for your decisions.
Characters: Jake Jensen
This AU is called Watcher Anonymous and will include different series for different characters. This is our introduction to Jensen and Nano.
Summary: work and personal blur together as an employee takes a special interest.
As usual, I would appreciate any and all feedback. I’m happy to once more go on this adventure with all of you! Thank you in advance for your comments and for reblogging ❤️
The last thing Jake wants is to cause her pain. It’s not really him hurting her. He’s just helping her see through the smokescreen.
He just needs the opportunity. He’s always alert, always aware of the ins and outs of her day. His desk is at just the right angle to see her office door.
His phone buzzes. Again. He sighs.
Jake never meant to take on the role, he only made suggestions and the others went along with it. No one else had any other idea so now, he’s the unspoken leader. He books the community room for their meetings and he moderates the discord.
There’s been interest in adding new members but he’s starting to think there’s more than enough. Some of the guys even weird him out.
He ignores the vibrations. He knows without looking it’s them. They can wait. He has a top priority mission.
His eyes dart over as a figure struts past the other developers. Hm. It’s Fowler. He looks at his phone as he walks. His eyes are slitted in intense concentration. He isn’t in Nano’s calendar...
Fowler stops at her door and knocks. She calls for him to enter. They exchange terse greetings. She’s been unhappy. The nights haven’t gotten better. Her husband is later and later. And Jake has figured out why.
He just needs her away from her computer. That’s it. She usually goes off for a coffee by now. He’d offer to get her favourite; vanilla latte, half-sweet, but that would be contrary to his end game.
“Today?” She marches through the door as she pulls on her long blazer over her dress. “Fowler, you said next week in the email.”
“Timelines change,” the dark-haired man says nonchalantly.
“You couldn’t get Isaacs?”
“He’s on vacation.”
“Mm,” she hums with the same disappointment as when her husband rolls over, soft and useless.
Jakes leg bounces under his desk. He stills it and watchers her go. She continues to chide the man who disturbed her peace. If she could even find that any more.
Wine and her ebook. Those seem to be her only solace. He could be so much more than that. But first...
He doesn’t want to do it like this. He should wait for things to unfold but Andy is smarter than he seems. He is a lawyer. He probably picked up a few tricks from the criminals he deposes. Fucker. Literally.
It wasn’t easy. Embarrassing really. Jake dug out his old bike courier uniform and strolled right into the law building. Those suits are so important, they don’t notice a minion like him. As proud as he could’ve been for his efficiency, he felt rotten about the results.
His suspicions were confirmed easily. Andy and an intern. She’s young and bubbly and fits perfectly under his desk. He regrets putting in the mic because some of the noises make him sick. He doesn’t need to keep watching, does he?
Alright, here he goes. He’s done it before but never felt bad. He only ever peeked at her schedule, nothing too intrusive. Just keeping track. That’s all. She is his boss and he wants to his job well. He can’t do that, if he doesn’t know what she has on her plate.
He goes into her files. He needs to put it somewhere obvious but not too obvious. Maybe disguise it as something else... He can make the icon look like a spreadsheet but then the video would open. Is it too much? That is her husband. Would she believe anything but the truth in front of her?
Her mirrored desktop bings. Shit. It’s him. She’s logged into WhatsApp on her PC. That’s not responsible use of a company device. Not his business.
He reads Andy’s message; ‘you still mad?’
He wants badly to click and read it all. No, he has lines. He watches but there are some things that are even too much for him. He leaves the file and exits out of the window. Another message blips up as he hovers over the button to confirm his exit from remote access.
‘Let’s go on a trip. Just us. Together.’
Huh. That’s a development. He clicks confirm and his access ends.
He looks around, face hot, hands tingly and cold. He swipes up his phone and locks his computer. He sets off for the bathroom. Hopefully Duncan didn’t get the Taco Bell breakfast again.
He shuts himself in and presses his thumb to the censor. He quickly goes into his cloud app. He scrolls through the files and selects this morning’s recording. He plays it at double speed as he chews his thumb.
The usual. The intern brings in the coffee, smiles, wiggles her hips, and goes back to her own desk. Andy waits until she’s gone and his hand disappears under his desk. Then, about twenty minutes later, she comes in with a file full of blank paper and closes the door.
This time doesn’t go the same as the other days. He slows down and turns up the volume.
“When?” She demands.
“Honey, I told you, it’s complicated,” he reaches for her.
She slaps his hand, “I’m not fucking you again until she’s gone. People are starting to catch on. I’m gonna get canned once Nancy catches wind.”
“You won’t. People wouldn’t believe it. They know me.”
“Oh yes, you’d never do anything wrong like cheat on your fucking wife,” she scathes. “It’s just that slutty intern coming on too strong--”
He shushes her, “keep it down.”
“No, make up your mind. I’m young but not that young. You tell her you’re leaving or I will--”
“You fucking won’t,” he steps closer, hands in fists. “Do you hear me, you little fucking slut? You’re exactly right. No one will believe that it wasn’t you. So you shut your fucking mouth or I’ll go to HR right now and tell them a story they’ll believe. I’ve been ADA for long enough, the will know which truth is best for optics.”
She gasps. Jake almost does too. She steps back then towards him again. She slaps him and it echoes. He touches his cheek and growls.
“Fine, I fucking quit.” She spins and storms to the door. “And I’m going to fucking tell her anyway.”
Jake stares at the phone, as dumbfounded as the man on screen. Huh. Seems he’s just as premature as Andy. All he has to do is wait and watch.

"If they put more superheroes in Fallout I'll talk about it more."
🔥 The Silver Shroud?
The Silver Shroud falls somewhere on a spectrum between genuinely really conceptually interesting and borderline meanspirited to me. As I've mentioned briefly before, the paradox of superheroes in the Fallout universe is that they aren't a fundamentally weirder class of person than any of the other 1950s genre pastiche archetypes that we're expected to take seriously, but the flip side is that superheroes would match with the rest of the Fallout idiom so perfectly, and are so modular in terms of what other genre elements they can incorporate into their own genre, that they could easily become the most overbearing element of the Fallout setting if steps aren't taken to keep them siloed. Fallout 3 and Fallout 4 share a throughline in that they both silo superheroism by portraying it as the product of arrested development.
Kent Connolly is a sad, sad guy, with good reason. He's been trying to keep his hobby alive for centuries- terminals in Fallout 76 reveal that he's been adjacent to attempts to make superheroes a real thing for over 200 years, and it has never, ever worked over the long haul, and yet he keeps on trucking, trying to make everyone else see what he sees in these characters. The Shroud is a significantly different archetype of pulp hero from the ones who show up in Fallout 3- rather than a pastiche of the bloodless, stakeless four-color capes of the golden age, he's a more directly a pastiche of The Shadow- the 1930s radio-show proto-superhero who was significantly more willing to use gun violence as a conflict resolution tool than his successors would be. This dovetails with the gameplay loop- In Fallout 3, the entire point of the superheroes is that they're engaging in a significantly more limited playfight compared to what the Lone Wanderer gets up to on a typical Tuesday, but the Sole Survivor, when adopting the Silver Shroud persona, doesn't really have to change their MO at all in order to embody the (admittedly somewhat exaggerated and retroactively attributed by later writers and audiences) retributive ultraviolence of the Shadow's pulp archetype. They're doing their normal thing in a funny voice. And the extent to which you're just doing your normal thing is what really puts the screws to the idea that doing it in a costume is actually adding anything here. You are, at best, making a slight detour to slightly brighten a shut-ins day, and that adds a fundamental air of sadness to the entire outing. But at the end of the day, you do briefly embody the archetype. You do kick down the door and save the hostage from the gangsters. And as a result it does end up briefly straddling the line between deeply silly and deeply cool. The other thing about The Silver Shroud is that in a roundabout way it re-enforces my standing theory that Fallout 3 was originally meant to take place within living memory of The Great War. Of the three Fallout games that directly feature living superheroes, two of them- 4 and 76- are associated with characters who were directly enmeshed in pre-war pop culture. The Mistress of Mystery and her cohort adopted the superheroic aesthetic because it would still be legible to a plurality of survivors; Kent Conolly's rock to roll uphill forever is that he's one of the only people left to whom any of this means anything. But in Fallout 3 the two superheroes just sort of....materialize, after 200 years, with their shticks fully formed. Furthermore, in the Hubris comics office in downtown DC you can find a pre war letter to the editor extolling the relatability of the fictional AntAgonizer, and doing so prior to starting The Superhuman Gambit gives you a unique option for talking down the real one. My strong suspicion is that in an earlier draft of the story, The AntAgonizer was written as a pre-war character who sent that letter to the editor herself as a teenager or young adult, and adopted the AntAgonizer persona after living through the war as a coping mechanism.

Chapter Thirty-Four: Priya's Day
Priya Desai stirred awake to the gentle hum of her phone vibrating on the nightstand, the screen softly lighting up the dim room. It was 6:00 a.m., just as always. Habit. Structure. Comfort. The sun had barely begun to rise outside her apartment window, casting a faint golden hue across her tidy bedroom. She lay still for a moment, gathering herself. The familiar scent of sandalwood and cardamom lingered faintly—Raja’s cologne from the night before.
He wasn’t there now. He’d left quietly after their late-night dinner, as he usually did. They understood each other—intimately, deeply—but Priya liked her space, and Raja respected that. It was one of the many reasons they worked. Slow and steady, theirs was a relationship built on quiet trust and soft boundaries, not rush or pressure.
She rolled out of bed, her bare feet brushing against the cool hardwood floor before she stepped into her slippers, and stretched her arms overhead. The apartment was calm, a contrast to the bustling life she’d walk into later at The Stand. She padded into the kitchen, flicked on the kettle, and took a moment to look out the window. Her tiny herb garden on the sill—basil, mint, a stubborn patch of coriander—looked fresh and well-watered, thanks to last night’s rain.
Once her tea was brewed, Priya leaned against the counter, sipping the hot chai and mentally mapping out her day. Thursday was her day. Her rhythm. CJ might be the face of The Stand, but everyone knew that when Thursday came around, things ran smoothly because of her. She handled logistics, schedules, staff check-ins, even donor follow-ups—all without fuss. Thursdays meant dependability.
She dressed simply but neatly, her slate-gray slacks pressed, her deep burgundy blouse tucked in with precision. A delicate gold necklace—gifted by her mother—rested against her collarbone, and her long dark hair was twisted into a soft knot at the base of her neck. A touch of eyeliner, a dab of lipstick, and she was out the door.
The drive was uneventful, but Priya didn’t mind. She liked the stillness before the chaos. The calm before the phones lit up, before CJ started his rounds, before Gabby exploded into the building with her unmatched volume and energy. The Stand never stopped, not really, but it thrived because people like her showed up on time and got things done.
By 8:00 a.m., she stepped inside The Stand, her heels clicking softly across the polished floor. She greeted the early shift with a polite smile, checked the call board, glanced at the updated volunteer notes, and made a beeline for the main office.
Time to run the show.
Priya moved through The Stand like a current beneath still water—quiet, steady, and essential. The front desk volunteer had misplaced a schedule update? She handled it. A delivery meant for the supply closet was left in the lobby? She redirected it smoothly. The printer jammed—again? Priya was already clearing it before anyone else noticed.
She was halfway through checking the volunteer log when a familiar voice barked from down the hall.
"Why is the firewall acting like it’s from 1997?"
Miles.
Without missing a beat, Priya calmly walked toward the IT room. She didn’t flinch at the mild chaos inside—the cords draped over chairs, the whiteboard crammed with scribbled notes and network maps, and Miles rubbing his temple like he was warding off a migraine.
“Miles,” she said gently, her tone already laced with soothing authority. “Breathe. What’s the issue?”
He grumbled something about corrupted backups and failing sync cycles, and Priya nodded, listening patiently. She didn’t pretend to know the tech side in detail, but she knew Miles—how to temper his frustration without coddling.
“Restart the node in sequence,” she offered, “then recheck the core log. If it’s still off, we’ll bring in that freelance tech you mentioned last week.”
He blinked. “You actually remembered that?”
“Of course,” she said with a faint smile. “It’s Thursday. You know I don’t forget on Thursdays.”
By the time she left him, he was muttering a begrudging thanks and already calmer.
She circled back to the break room, making mental notes along the way. Printer needs toner. Lobby rug needs cleaning. Someone should follow up with the catering invoice from last week’s donor brunch.
Then came the familiar clack-clack of CJ’s boots as he entered from the main hall, coffee in hand, still scanning through his phone.
“Morning, Priya,” he greeted absently, already mid-thought. “Did we ever get a final confirmation from—”
“Yes,” she interrupted with the faintest hint of fond exasperation. “Donor outreach from Fresno confirmed their support. I emailed the update to you last night.”
CJ stopped walking, looked up at her, then smiled. “You’re the best.”
“I know,” she replied smoothly, already moving past him to intercept a volunteer who looked confused about where to log in.
The Stand was a living, breathing place. And Thursday mornings thrived because of Priya Desai—her lists, her memory, her calm steadiness. She didn’t need to be loud to be powerful. She simply was.
And she loved this place like it was her own.
The soft ping of her phone was the only break in Priya’s rhythm as she finished her notes at her desk. The screen lit up with a familiar name: Raja.
Hope your morning’s smooth. Mine’s already been hijacked by a broken espresso machine. Pray for me.
A smile tugged at her lips. Raja Patel—her equal in temperament, steady and unhurried, though not immune to a touch of dramatics when caffeine was involved. She replied quickly.
You’ll survive. You’re resourceful. And if not, you can whine to me about it over dinner.
Tempting. Will you be free after 7?
If CJ doesn’t rope me into another last-minute donor review, yes.
His reply was immediate.
Then it’s a date. And if he does, I’ll just have to charm him into letting you go.
She chuckled quietly and tucked her phone away. There was something so reliable in Raja’s presence, even through a screen. He didn’t rush—never had. And she loved that about him. He understood the long game.
She gathered her notes and stood, smoothing the front of her blouse as she crossed the floor to CJ’s office. The door was ajar, and as always, he had a coffee mug in one hand and his eyes fixed on a spreadsheet.
“You’re due for a stretch,” she said lightly, tapping the edge of his desk to draw his attention.
CJ looked up, blinking, then offered a sheepish grin. “Was I in that deep?”
Priya gave a single nod. “We need to go over the revised call rotation for the afternoon and Gabby’s request to switch her Friday shift.”
CJ reached for the printout she was already holding out. “Of course you’re already ten steps ahead.”
“And I’ll be twenty ahead if we start now.”
They fell into step together, heading toward the main conference board, and the hum of The Stand moved around them—volunteers talking softly, phones ringing, keyboards clicking. The day had begun, and Priya Desai was, as always, exactly where she needed to be.
CJ Braxton leaned over his desk, scanning the printed schedule and shift reports, a pen tapping lightly against the surface in a familiar rhythm. The hum of morning activity filtered through the closed door of his office—phones ringing, voices low and steady, footsteps moving briskly over the floor. It was the usual start to the day at The Stand, but CJ liked to have all his gears aligned before the day could wind too far ahead of him.
A knock sounded at his door just as he glanced at the clock. Right on time.
“Come in,” he called, already knowing who it would be.
Priya Desai stepped in, tablet in hand, dressed in one of her classic, clean-lined blouses and tailored slacks. She looked as composed as always, hair in a neat twist at the nape of her neck, eyes sharp and steady.
“You’re already deep in it,” she remarked as she shut the door behind her and took the seat across from him.
“Always,” CJ said, gesturing at the folders in front of him. “Morning check-in. Talk to me.”
She brought up a document on her tablet and angled it so they could both see. “Phones are fully staffed through the afternoon. I moved Emma to cover a later shift—she had a late night with family stuff. Dax is subbing in for the early hours. I spoke to him personally and he’s solid.”
CJ nodded. “Good. What about volunteers?”
“We’re two short for the mid-afternoon block. I already sent out a ping to the volunteer thread, but we might have to ask the current shift to stretch thirty minutes if no one fills in.”
CJ grimaced slightly. “Offer them overtime. Snacks, too.”
“Done,” Priya said with a little smile.
He chuckled. “Of course it is.”
“I also spoke to maintenance about the HVAC issue in the east end. They’re sending someone by noon. I’ll float around that side to make sure we don’t have anyone overheating.”
CJ rubbed the back of his neck. “You sure you don’t want to take over completely? You already run the place better than I do.”
Priya raised an eyebrow at him. “You say that like you don’t know how essential you are here.”
He gave a small, tired smile. “I’m just saying… you’re the only reason we’re not constantly three steps behind.”
She reached across the desk, tapped the edge of his notepad with two fingers. “You’re too hard on yourself. Especially with everything else you’ve got going on.”
CJ looked at her then—really looked. There was no judgment in her gaze, only understanding. She knew about his tendency to carry too much on his shoulders. Knew, too, what this place meant to him, to Y/N, to all of them.
“Thanks,” he murmured. “Really.”
Priya inclined her head. “Always.”
They lapsed into a brief, comfortable silence, both returning their attention to the screen as they scrolled through the next series of logistics—the shift reports, donor engagement events on the calendar, counseling call summaries, and IT updates. This was their rhythm, years in the making. Quiet, efficient, precise.
As they wrapped up, Priya gave one last update. “Oh—and Gabby wants to talk to you about something. She wouldn’t say what. Just… brace yourself. She had that look.”
CJ groaned. “That can’t be good.”
Priya grinned as she stood. “I’m going to get more tea. Want anything?”
“Just a tranquilizer dart,” CJ muttered.
She laughed softly and was gone, the door clicking shut behind her. CJ leaned back in his chair with a sigh, glancing through the frosted glass of his office to catch sight of Y/N at her desk, headphones on, hair tucked behind her ear as she listened intently to the voice on the line.
Friday couldn't get here fast enough.
The midday sun filtered down through the cloud-streaked sky as Priya Desai stepped out of The Stand’s glass doors, her blazer hugged over one arm. The breeze was mild, warm against her skin, and the shift from the building’s soft hum to the relative quiet of the street was like a balm she didn’t know she needed.
Raja was already waiting for her at the corner café just down the block—a cozy little place they both favored for its predictability and calm. He sat at their usual table tucked in the corner of the patio, beneath a gently swaying string of lights. When he saw her, he stood and smiled, warm and familiar.
She smiled back, the tension in her shoulders easing without her even thinking about it.
“You beat me,” she said as she approached, dropping a kiss to his cheek before taking the seat across from him.
“You’re always worth waiting for,” he replied simply, sliding a glass of chilled water toward her.
They settled in quickly. There were no dramatic gestures with Raja, no loud declarations or sweeping flair. He didn’t need them. His steadiness was its own kind of poetry—subtle, consistent, deeply rooted. He asked about her morning, and she told him. Not everything, but enough. The HVAC glitch, the staffing patch, the way CJ had looked exhausted but lit up when he talked about Y/N. Raja listened, nodding occasionally, his gaze never drifting far from hers.
He told her about his latest project—designing a community mural for a new neighborhood development downtown. They spoke about colors, symbolism, and public art, their conversation flowing the way it always did, like a quiet current beneath a peaceful surface.
Halfway through their lunch, a silence fell between them—not strained, but soft, companionable. Priya found herself watching him, the way his fingers cradled his coffee mug, the line of his jaw, the faint smile always tugging at the corners of his mouth.
“You know,” she said, her voice low, “some days I wonder if I’m doing too much. Too many hours. Too much planning. Too much of holding everything together.”
“You’ve always held things together,” Raja said. “It’s not too much. It’s who you are.”
She exhaled slowly, touched by the simplicity of that. “And you’re not worried that I’ll just… keep postponing forever?”
His gaze met hers, steady and warm. “We’re not on anyone else’s timeline. We’re building something that lasts. That takes time.”
Priya’s throat tightened. That was the thing with Raja. He always knew the words she needed—not to fix her, but to meet her where she was. She reached across the table, brushing her fingers over his.
“I don’t say it enough,” she murmured, “but I’m grateful for you.”
He smiled again, soft and real. “I know.”
They lingered a little longer, sipping coffee, hands lightly linked on the tabletop. The world bustled around them, but for a brief window of time, it felt still. Quiet. Right.
Lunch would end. The Stand would beckon her back with its organized chaos. But for now, in this moment, Priya was simply a woman at lunch with the man who had loved her patiently and well. And that, she thought, was more than enough.
The end of lunch came too soon, as it always did on days like this—days where everything aligned in quiet harmony, where the weight she carried felt just a little lighter because Raja was beside her.
They walked slowly back toward The Stand, steps unhurried, the sun still warm overhead. Priya’s arm brushed his now and then, and she didn’t move away. She liked that about them. The comfort. The ease. The silence that didn’t ask to be filled.
At the entrance, Raja slowed to a stop. He turned to her, eyes crinkling slightly at the corners as he looked down at her. His hand found hers, fingers tracing gentle lines across her knuckles before he lifted her hand to his lips and kissed it lightly.
“I was thinking,” he said, voice soft, “maybe dinner tonight? Your place. Nothing elaborate. Just us.”
Priya tilted her head, already smiling. “Are you bringing food, or should I plan something?”
“Let’s do it together,” he replied. “We can cook. Or pretend to.”
She laughed, the sound light, and nodded. “Dinner at my place. I’d like that.”
He leaned in, and she met him halfway. The kiss was sweet, unhurried, lips brushing hers with quiet affection before he pulled back. Their foreheads rested together for a moment, the bustle of the city dull in the background.
“I’ll see you tonight,” he murmured.
“Looking forward to it,” she said, her voice as tender as the touch of his hand on hers.
Then she stepped back, adjusting her blazer and giving him one last smile before walking through the doors of The Stand.
Behind her, Raja waited a moment, watching her disappear into the building that demanded so much of her—before turning and heading back down the street, his own steps a little lighter.
Priya had barely taken two steps into The Stand when she heard it—Gabby’s gasp, the telltale intake of breath that always preceded an explosion of noise, enthusiasm, and the kind of joyful chaos only Gabby could bring.
“Oh. My. God.”
Priya turned, bracing herself.
There she was. Gabby, standing by the break room doorway, one hand dramatically on her chest, the other pointing like she'd just uncovered a royal scandal. Her eyes were wide with delighted outrage.
“That was Raja, wasn’t it? That was Raja. I saw you! I saw you two!”
Priya blinked slowly. “Yes, Gabby. It was Raja. My boyfriend. Of three years.”
Gabby barreled forward like a cannonball wrapped in a rainbow. “You kissed him! In public! You never kiss him in public! I’ve never seen you do PDA. Never! What was that? A kiss at the door? Like a proper movie romance? Are you okay? Are you dying? Is this your way of telling me something without telling me?”
Priya folded her arms and stared at her, unimpressed. “Gabby, it was a goodbye kiss. People do that. Normal, healthy people.”
Gabby gasped again. “Oh my god, you’re blushing. Priya Desai, are you finally becoming me?! Is this what love looks like when it wears cardigans and drinks sensible tea?”
“No,” Priya said flatly, but her mouth twitched in amusement. “And I don’t drink sensible tea. I drink calming tea. Because I work with you.”
Gabby clutched her chest. “I’m not even offended. That was beautiful. You wound me and I love it.”
Miles passed by behind them at that moment and muttered under his breath, “How are you this loud before one p.m.?”
“I thrive before one p.m.,” Gabby called after him. “It’s you who withers like a houseplant.”
Priya sighed, exasperated. “Why are you like this?”
Gabby grinned brightly, looped her arm through Priya’s. “Because you need someone to balance out your ‘subtle charm’ and 'unflappable logic.' You’re welcome.”
Priya shook her head, hiding her smile. “I’m going back to my desk.”
“You mean the Command Throne of The Stand? The place where all problems come to die? Yes, go. Rule wisely, Your Grace.”
As Gabby twirled away in a flurry of dramatic flair, Priya exhaled a slow breath and allowed herself a soft laugh.
This was her life. And as chaotic and exhausting as Gabby could be—Priya wouldn’t change a thing.
Afternoons at The Stand always carried a particular rhythm—a current of energy that pulsed through the walls, phones ringing, conversations murmuring, laughter in pockets, and tension riding high in others. In the middle of it all, like the eye of a hurricane, was Priya Desai.
Unflappable. Steady. Essential.
CJ passed her desk first, two files in hand and a thoughtful look on his face. “We still short on volunteers for the overnight shift?” he asked, pausing only when Priya tilted her head slightly.
“Covered,” she replied. “I pulled in two of our newer recruits. They’re reliable.”
He blinked, then nodded. “You’re a miracle.”
“I prefer ‘efficient.’” Her voice was cool, even, and she went right back to her screen without missing a beat.
Minutes later, Miles stomped through, muttering under his breath about a backend glitch and how he was two seconds from throwing his laptop into the sun.
“Clear the cache and reboot the subnet,” Priya called without looking up.
Miles froze mid-rant. “I—how did you—? Never mind. Thanks.”
From across the room, Gabby shouted, “Priya! Are you secretly a supercomputer?”
“Not a secret,” Y/N called back, grinning as she carried a fresh stack of case reports to the file cabinet.
Gabby materialized at Priya’s desk not thirty seconds later, her eyes bright. “Okay, hear me out—Y/N and I are brainstorming themes for a tiny engagement dinner. Just for friends. Maybe something dreamy, like soft candlelight and snowflake accents?”
“I’m not getting involved in themed planning,” Priya replied without lifting her gaze.
Gabby groaned. “You always say that and then you help anyway.”
“You twist my arm.”
“I charm your arm,” Gabby corrected with a beaming smile.
From his desk nearby, Miles muttered, “Is that what you call it?”
Gabby ignored him entirely and leaned closer to Priya. “Come on. You saw the ring. It’s basically begging for a soft blue and silver motif. Maybe even fairy lights.”
Priya finally glanced at her, one brow arched. “You do realize I have an actual job here?”
“Yes, and you’ve already finished half of it because you’re brilliant, so that frees up some brainpower for theme consulting.”
Y/N walked by just in time to hear that. “She’s not wrong.”
Priya sighed with supreme patience. “One of these days, I’m going to let this place burn.”
“And we’ll all go down smiling because you taught us how to do everything,” Y/N said cheerfully, squeezing Priya’s shoulder in passing.
CJ popped his head out of his office then, catching the tail end of the exchange. “If this place burns, I’m blaming Gabby.”
“Fair,” Miles chimed in. “Seconded.”
Gabby gasped. “The betrayal!”
“Only because I trust Priya to actually save us,” CJ said, grinning.
Unbothered, Priya closed one tab, opened another, and said with impeccable calm, “As long as you all file your reports on time, I’ll consider saving you. Once.”
And just like that, the room moved around her—CJ ducking back into his office, Y/N handling calls with a calm grace, Miles muttering at a screen, Gabby flitting from desk to desk like a vibrant storm. Through it all, Priya Desai held down the center.
The calm. The compass. The constant.
And without her, The Stand would have fallen into chaos a long time ago.
The sun dipped low behind the buildings as Priya stepped out of The Stand, her canvas bag slung over her shoulder and her dark eyes tired but calm. The day had been steady—no emergencies, a few hiccups, nothing she couldn’t smooth over. She breathed in the cool evening air, already picturing the quiet rhythm of her apartment and the man who waited there.
Raja.
She found him exactly as she knew she would: sitting cross-legged on her couch, barefoot, a book in his lap and two mugs of steaming chai on the coffee table. He looked up when she entered, his expression softening into a smile that melted away the tension she hadn’t even realized she was carrying.
“Hey,” he said quietly, setting the book aside.
“Hi,” she replied, toeing off her shoes and stepping into the familiar calm of home. The scent of cardamom and cinnamon drifted to her, wrapped in the comfort of the apartment they didn’t share—but occupied together more often than not.
He stood as she came closer and gathered her into his arms without a word. She tucked her face into his shoulder and let the silence linger between them, warm and grounding.
“You look tired,” he murmured into her hair.
“Long day,” she admitted, “but not a bad one.”
They settled into the easy rhythm that had become second nature—plates already set out for dinner, a modest meal of rajma and rice waiting in the slow cooker, the scent filling the space with something both nostalgic and satisfying. She changed into soft loungewear while Raja reheated the food, humming quietly in the kitchen.
Dinner was quiet, the kind of quiet that didn’t feel like silence. They spoke about small things: a new intern at Raja’s firm, a grant Priya was helping CJ apply for, the prospect of rain over the weekend. Raja made her laugh once, a low warm sound that made him smile and reach across the table to brush his fingers against hers.
Later, with dishes cleaned and the lights dimmed, they curled up together on the couch, her feet tucked beneath his leg, her head on his shoulder.
“You ever think about it?” he asked, voice soft.
Priya turned to glance up at him. “About what?”
“Us. The future. Where this is going.”
She was quiet for a long moment before she answered. “I do. Just… slowly.”
“I know,” Raja said gently. “I’m in no rush.”
That was the thing about him. He never pushed. Never demanded. He just… stayed. Present. Constant. Like her.
And in that, Priya Desai found something she hadn’t expected: peace.
She kissed his shoulder lightly and closed her eyes. “Thanks for dinner.”
“Thanks for being mine,” he whispered, threading their fingers together.
The night passed just like that—unhurried, easy, and full of quiet promise.

ꔛ. meeting each other,
✧ what’s the most likely way for you two to meet?
you meet because something isn’t adding up. maybe there’s a string of mysterious deaths—chalked up to suicide or freak accidents—and you’re the one person looking closer. virgo mercury, mars, and lilith? you don’t let things slide. you ask too many questions. enter dean: cocky, defensive, and not thrilled that a civilian is sniffing around his hunt.
✧ are you a hunter or a civilian?
you’re not a hunter, but you’re dangerous in your own way—sharp, hyper-observant, and hard to intimidate. think: medical examiner assistant, research librarian, maybe even working at a morgue or with old records. dean clocks it immediately—you’re good at patterns. maybe too good. you two cross paths in some crummy diner or police station, both looking into the same case from very different angles.
✧ what’s his first impression of you?
he thinks you’re a control freak with a hot face and a mouth too smart for your own good. he doesn’t like how much you see. your cap rising, your scorpio moon? terrifying. but also? so hot it makes him nervous. he tries to act like you’re in the way, but he's already thinking about you when he’s driving off. you challenge him without even trying.
ꔛ. friendship compatibility,
✧ how would the friendship be like?
deeply mutual respect meets constant roast battles. he appreciates your loyalty and ability to handle the truth—your mercury placements make you brutally honest, and that clicks with his no-BS sagittarius moon. but you also keep him grounded. you don’t let him spiral, and he (weirdly) appreciates it. the emotional trust takes time, but once it’s there? rock solid.
✧ how would it begin?
it starts with suspicion and sarcasm. you call him out for lying about who he is. he lies again. you quote an obscure law back at him. he’s weirdly impressed. it snowballs from there—text messages that become check-ins that become late-night “you up?”s when things get rough.
✧ quirks and fun things about it:
✶ you secretly organize his motel chaos and he pretends not to notice ✶ he drags you to dive bars and teaches you to hustle pool ✶ you critique his wardrobe ("cowboy boots again?") ✶ he saves every voicemail you leave, even the angry ones ✶ you two bond over shared trauma... and bad coffee ✶ your virgo wit plus his aquarius sass? lethal comedy duo energy
ꔛ. romantic compatibility,
✧ are you compatible? is there a chance for friendship to develop into more?
yes, and it would scare the hell out of both of you. the mental stimulation is off the charts—your mercury placements talk for hours, and your leo venus squaring his aqua sun? electric tension. you challenge his lone wolf tendencies. and he pulls you out of your overthinking.
✧ what type of relationship would it be?
a slow burn. emotionally intense, wildly physical, and frustratingly hot-and-cold at first. you want structure; he resists it. but once you stop trying to change each other, you create a weird little universe of your own. loyalty becomes the love language. protecting each other becomes second nature.
✧ what are your love languages according to the charts?
✶ you: acts of service (you’d make him real food, stitch him up, run his plates for him in some dusty sheriff’s office—anything to show you care without saying it), quality time (your virgo placements crave consistent closeness) ✶ him: words of affirmation (he’s low-key needy but will die before admitting it), physical touch (when he loves, he needs to feel you near—especially after a hunt)
ꔛ. scenario, ₊˚⊹౨ comfort you as a friend/partner ৎ ₊˚⊹
you don’t mean to cry in the impala. it’s just—everything hits at once. the silence between hunts. the weight of every person you couldn’t save. you don’t break often. virgos don’t like messes. but tonight, you do. you turn your face to the window. you don’t want him to see. he says nothing at first. the radio hums, static-fuzzy. but then the car slows. pulls over. stops. you expect a lecture. maybe a half-assed joke. instead, dean gets out. walks around. opens your door. “c’mon,” he mutters, holding out a hand. you hesitate. he doesn’t flinch. you let him pull you into the cold. into his arms. into his jacket. his voice is low against your temple. “you don’t have to be strong tonight, okay? i got it. i got you.” you don’t talk. you just stand there, wrapped in him, until your breath slows. until the shaking stops. he doesn’t let go.
ꔛ. overall, score : 8.7 / 10
this is a high-stakes match with power couple energy, but also mutual destruction potential if not handled with care. your scorpio moon craves emotional depth. his sag moon avoids it. your virgo placements want control. his aquarius energy resists it. but the intellectual sync, emotional loyalty, and undeniable sexual chemistry make it so worth it. if you two can survive the emotional minefield and learn to meet in the middle? you’re unstoppable.

OK, OK, OK... your assignment, if you choose to accept it:
An alternate version where Ethan bursts into the photo booth between pics 3 and 4.
I want this, but I'm shivering in fear that it will impede my beloved T/C. Of course, the original is canon in my mind; this would be sliding doors... and I still hope T/C end up together! lol)
GIRL, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO ME TODAY!!!! lol
*rolls up my sleeves and digs deep into my angsty bag of tricks all while cackling*
Alright @jerzwriter , I wasn't sure where this one would go when I started it, but here's where we ended up. I think this is how it would have gone down with Ethan bursting in. Some things are inevitable after all.
Original Version of Processing and Developing
Song Inspiration for this (since I'm a sucker for a good angst driven song): Without You by Henry Nilsson
Masterlist
Processing and Developing: Interrupted

Ines and Angie's Wedding reception...
They didn't take any props.
Ethan eyed the photo booth that Tobias had pulled a more than willing Chris into.
There were only a couple of reasons two people went into a photo booth together, and the one he suspected had him walking over to either prove or disprove his theory.
The first picture showed Tobias and Chris laughing.
That's not too alarming, Ethan thought. After all, they are the only two people I know who manage to always find humor in the most mundane things in life.
The second one revealed the pair actually posing for an average, smile filled picture.
Normal reaction to a camera flashing, Ethan thought with relief.
The third one revealed the couple looking at one another.
Wait. Tobias is looking at her like he might be falling for her. And Chris...she...are they going to...
The curtain being jerked back caused Tobias and Chris to jump apart. Ethan stood a touch breathless in the opening. He didn't know why he reacted like this. He only knew some previous, unknown fear was about to manifest itself.
His eyes darted back and forth between the two.
Were they about to kiss?
"Ethan?" Tobias asked. "Is something wrong?"
"I changed my mind." He declared after a few seconds of mad scramble for a reason for bursting in on them. "Let's, um, let's get that team photo you wanted."
"Hold on!" Chris reached out to stop him before he could go find Harper. "You're really willing to do a goofy picture?"
"We can do both." Ethan decided. "One for you two and one that Harper and I wouldn't mind hanging in the office."
Tobias chuckled over that compromise.
"Are you saying the goofy one won't be part of our officer's decor?"
Ethan rolled his eyes. "I have no doubt that someone," he glanced at Chris, "or some people, will find a way to have it hanging in a different spot each day."
"And multiple copies of said picture in case someone throws it away each day." Tobias added.
Chris snorted on her laughter. She had no doubt that Tobias would come up with new and ingenious ways to keep the picture they originally wanted in place.
Her partner in crime smiled at her while waving Ethan out of the booth.
"Go grab Harper. Chris and I will make sure to keep the booth occupied."
Ethan's jaw spasmed at the mere thought of leaving them alone. After what almost occurred, he didn't trust Tobias to make another move on Chris. With the way she was looking at Tobias in that picture, Ethan doubted she'd offer any resistance.
She might even encourage him.
"Why don't you go through the box of props while I find Harper?" He countered, doing his best to avoid his real reason for getting them out of the perfect spot to share an illicit kiss. "I'll let you choose what we're to wear."
Tobias's jaw dropped. He could hardly believe Ethan would give him that much power after all he'd done to him during their college years.
Still, who was he to argue with this unexpected gift?
"Sounds like a plan." Tobias rose off the bench.
He held his hand out to Chris.
"Ready to make this the best picture ever, Valentine?"
Her delighted smile made Ethan feel both relieved and slightly guilty. He tried not to notice that not only did she readily take Tobias's hand, but also kept it there as they exited the booth. He also noticed that it took all of his own willpower to walk away from them to find Harper.
He glanced back at the pair a couple of times as he made his way through the wedding guests. They were eagerly going through the various wigs, clown noses, and oversized glasses. Their laughter drifted over the music and buzz of conversations.
"I see you decided to join me." Harper said once he reached her side. "Want me to order you a drink?"
"No." His eyes remained on the pair. "I actually came to--"
Damn it.
He shouldn't have left them alone.
Chris was trying on a curly green wig. She placed a hand on her hip, sticking it out to one side while placing her other hand behind her head. Playfully fluttering her eyelashes, she said something that Ethan didn't doubt was flirtatious. If he was to go by Tobias moving closer to study her, he knew what she said was working.
Tobias's teasing smirk softened as he leaned down to look directly into her eyes.
Even from where Ethan was, he could see the blush cover her face and neck.
Chris blinked and asked what he was looking at.
Ethan knew what it was. Those gray-green eyes of hers could cause anyone to pause. He'd found himself momentarily tongue-tied a time or two, especially if she wore something green. That color set her eyes off to perfection.
Though it was a cheap, bright green wig, he knew it must have done the trick in capturing Tobias's attention.
"We're going to take a picture." Ethan muttered when Harper tugged on his sleeve to get his attention.
"We are?" She asked in utter disbelief. "But I thought--"
Ethan grasped her arm and pulled her away from the bar.
Wide eyed, Harper was struck speechless over his unusual behavior.
As they approached, they heard the last bit of Tobias's compliment to Chris.
"...not only mesmerizing, but absolutely gorgeous."
Ethan silently cursed. He was forced to watch as the praise of those incredible eyes made Chris shy. A hint of a smile played about her lips as she averted those very eyes from Tobias.
"I um, thank y--"
"Are we doing this or what?" Ethan demanded.
All three stared at him in surprise. His harsh tone was difficult to ignore.
"Are you sure you want to?" Chris asked.
Ethan looked at her. Grimacing over being unable to hide his irritation over seeing her flirt with another man, which was ridiculous since he'd been the one to keep her in the colleague/friend zone, he gave a curt nod. He didn't trust himself to actually answer her and reveal how much he wanted her.
Harper glanced back and forth between him and Chris. Her brow furrowed the longer she studied Ethan. She couldn't recall seeing him so agitated over taking a simple picture.
Chris mentally groaned. She didn't know why Ethan was being more moody than usual. She was tired of never knowing what would set him off. In the past, when she tried to get closer to him, he became irritated. When she stayed away, he became sullen. She wished she knew the appropriate relationship to have with him so she could stop walking on eggshells every single time he was around.
Reaching up, she tugged the wig off her head and did her best to smooth her hair down.
"We'll just take a professional picture." Chris decided. "We won't make you and Harper miserable."
Harper opened her mouth to argue that she didn't mind getting a little silly.
Ethan spoke up before she did.
"Let's get this over with."
Tobias snorted. "No need to sound too excited, Ethan."
Ethan glared at him. He knew he sounded like an ass right now. He didn't need any snarky remarks pointing that fact out. What he wanted, he couldn't have. Wasn't he allowed to be human and regret what he'd done?
With a clenched jaw, Ethan walked into the photo booth and sat down on the bench.
He then noticed the new problem the four of them would have.
There wasn't enough room for everyone to sit down.
"Hmm?" Harper squeezed in beside him while eyeing the lack of space. "I don't think we'll fit.
Chris stepped in next followed closely by Tobias.
"Uh oh." Chris mumbled as she glanced back at Tobias. "Now what's the plan?"
Tobias grinned as he sat down, almost squishing Harper between himself and Ethan. He reached up and pulled Chris into his lap.
"There." He brushed her hair back off her right shoulder and placed his chin upon it. He reached over to hit the start button. "Everyone, smile!"
Ethan couldn't do it. His blood boiled to see Chris sitting in another man's lap. He could do nothing but stare straight ahead.
No, he thought to himself. That isn't it.
It wasn't the fact she was in some random guy's lap. It was the fact that she was being practically cuddled by a man that Ethan felt could steal her away.
For good.
What is my end game here? I've been saying I couldn't be with her because of her career. She's soon going to take the boards and be done with her residency. Was I subconsciously planning to try and finally be with her?
Do I have a right to do that to Chris? Expect her to forget three years of rejection? Fall into my arms? Want me after all that?
Ethan's frown deepened as the camera flashed a third time. He couldn't think of anything he'd done to deserve her forgiveness for constantly telling her they couldn't be together after occasionally succumbing to temptation.
Chris glanced over at Ethan and noticed that he wasn't smiling. She reached past Harper before the final flash to poke his stubbled jaw.
He looked up at her.
Her smile, a ghost of the one she'd given him that long ago night in Miami appeared.
"Show off those famous Ramsey dimples." She ordered.
Unable to stop the smile creeping up at having her attention along with a reminder of how she'd once said his dimples could make a girl melt, he turned back to face the camera.
"One of those is bound to be good." Harper said once it was over. "I already have the perfect frame in mind we can use for it."
Chris eased out of Tobias's arms to see how their pictures turned out. The others followed her, each peering over her shoulders to see which one they looked the best in.
"It took five tries," Tobias teased, "but our fearless leader was finally able to remember how to pose in front of a camera."
Ethan rolled his eyes as he studied the images. He ignored himself and Harper to see how Tobias and Chris looked.
One picture had Tobias turned towards Chris. His lips were pressed to her cheek.
Ethan felt his heart sink to see that Chris had her eyes closed in that particular photo as if relishing the feel of his lips upon her skin.
"That last one is definitely the best." Chris declared, beaming at all of them.
She tore off the fifth one and handed it to Harper to frame once they returned to Boston.
Tobias reached over and plucked the remaining photos out of Chris's grasp.
Winking at her, he tore off the second picture and placed it in the inside pocket of his jacket.
"How about a dance?" He asked, taking Chris's hand once more.
"Love to." She waved goodbye to Ethan and Harper as they walked out towards the dance floor.
"I had no idea they were together." Harper said once they were out of earshot. "Did you?"
Ethan attempted to swallow the bitter lump forming in his throat.
"No. I didn't."
Harper looked up at him, seeing the pain etched in his handsome features.
"Ethan? Are you in lo--"
Her jaw dropped when he walked out on the dance floor to cut in on the beginning of Tobias and Chris's slow dance.
With a friendly smile, Tobias stepped back and let him take his spot.
Ethan placed one hand at the lower part of Chris's back while taking her hand in his other. On the beat, he guided her in a slow box step.
Chris's smile began to dim as she noticed how serious he looked.
"Ethan, what's--"
"Don't." He pleaded. "Please, don't say a word."
He pressed her closer to him, fingers tightening around hers.
"Just let me have this moment." He whispered in her ear. "And then I'll let you go back to Tobias."
Chris's steps faltered for a moment. As if knowing how much it would hurt Ethan if she stopped dancing to question the current mood he was in, she got back into rhythm with him. Lacing her fingers with his, she gently squeezed his hand while resting her cheek against his.
She knows, he thought, that this is the end.
Ethan closed his eyes. He knew if he'd only given in to what they'd once both wanted, this dance would simply be one of many they would have shared. There would have been stolen kisses as their bodies brushed against one another's. He knew Chris, being her affectionate self, would have insisted on remaining in his arms the rest of the night.
And he knew he'd never have let her go.
As the last chords played, their steps stilled.
Ethan swallowed before forcing himself to lift his head away from hers.
Their eyes met. As much as he hoped to see that old flicker of desire in those green depths, he felt a little relieved that there was nothing but a somewhat sad understanding reflected in them. He was for once not the one to push her away from what could be.
She somehow managed to smile at him as she stepped out of his arms.
The small space between seemed to widen with what he knew was inevitable.
"Thank you for the dance." She said softly.
"I should be thanking you." He replied, longing to pull her back for another.
Before he could say anything else, she turned around to search the crowd.
He felt his heart sink into what would be its now permanent state when Tobias appeared to ask her if she'd like to take a walk with him down on the beach.
Chris nodded, her smile once again returning to its former joy, and took his offered hand.
Without looking back, the pair disappeared into the night.
A little while later, Harper joined Ethan at the bar.
Noticing the grim set of his lips, she wondered what would help him in this moment.
"Ethan?"
"Hmm?"
Harper placed her hand over his. "Why didn't you tell Chris?"
Not meeting her concerned gaze, he merely shrugged.
"It's too late for anything like that."
Harper shook her head. "It's never too late."
"This time, you're wrong." He replied. "Whatever Chris once felt for me is nothing compared to what she now feels for Tobias."
She grimaced. "From what he was saying earlier, he has fallen for her pretty hard."
Ethan's eyes widened. "Tobias actually talked to you about it?"
"I asked him about their relationship. He was more than willing to talk about what she means to him. Tobias told me that the more time he spent working with Chris, the more he realized she was the only one for him."
Ethan closed his eyes against that information. Taking a deep breath, he finished off his glass of scotch and got to his feet.
"Then it's just like I said." He turned to leave. "It's too late to tell Chris how I feel."
With that, he made his way back to the hotel.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. We're all apparently shitting on developers and games and shit. Rightly so for all the nonsense coming out of the woodwork.
But you gotta hand it over to the MHW team, same team behind World and Iceborne. They could've so easily charged us for every single title update and added monsters.
All the shit you can buy in the store is PURELY cosmetic. They could so easily just hide top tier materials, weapons and armors behind a paywall but they aren't going to do that.
Yes, it sucks ass that if you wanna change the overall look of your hunter it requires a ticket you gotta buy with real fucking money. I'm always gonna criticize the fuck out of that.
The only time we'll need to pay for content is when the expansion drops and that's because it's pretty much a whole new game added on top of it. After that all title updates and added content will follow suit and be free.
I didn't even mention how frequently the games go on sale and how often they give out items--useful items btw--in the log ins. Someone in the office farted, here's a log in bonus to celebrate! The art director's dog had puppies, here's another log in bonus package. Someone felt like it, here's some more log in bonus packages. Who the hell else is currently doing that? Everything is stuck behind a paywall or predatory practices like fomo. These motherfuckers are just giving away shit for free.
Sometimes it's necessary to praise people when they don't fuck you over and completely shit on the ones that do.
Hopefully this post won't age poorly but yeah, I do feel that it's a good idea to support the ones that don't fuck you over.

Custom Lobby Signs for B2B Companies in Orlando: From Concept to Installation

Introduction
In the fast-paced world of B2B services, first impressions often determine whether a prospective client will move forward with a business relationship. A key element in shaping that impression is the physical environment where business begins—typically, the company’s lobby. For B2B companies in Orlando, where competition and innovation thrive across industries, lobby signage plays a crucial role in communicating brand identity, professionalism, and trust. In this article, we explore how custom lobby signs in Orlando go from creative concept to polished installation, highlighting their importance in the B2B space.
Why Lobby Signs Matter for B2B Companies
While B2C environments often use vibrant, attention-grabbing signage to attract walk-ins or impulse buyers, B2B spaces must prioritize clarity, sophistication, and alignment with corporate branding. Here’s why lobby signs are pivotal in Orlando’s B2B landscape:
First Impressions Count: A custom lobby sign conveys professionalism and signals the company’s dedication to quality and detail.
Brand Identity: From fonts to materials, the lobby sign reflects the tone and message of the brand.
Trust and Credibility: A well-designed sign instills confidence in visiting clients, partners, and vendors.
Navigation and Functionality: In large office complexes or shared spaces, a sign also serves a wayfinding function, subtly reinforcing the brand as clients navigate to your office.
Understanding the Orlando B2B Landscape
Orlando isn’t just a hub for tourism and entertainment; it's a growing center for technology firms, healthcare organizations, financial services, logistics companies, and professional consultancies. These companies need more than flashy signage—they require lobby signs that align with their corporate tone and communicate trust and reliability.
With business parks like Central Florida Research Park and high-rise office buildings in downtown Orlando, B2B companies often share common entry points. A distinct, well-placed lobby sign can set your business apart and establish brand presence within a shared professional space.
Step 1: Discovery and Concept Development
The journey of creating custom lobby signs in Orlando begins with an in-depth discovery session. Here, the sign company meets with the B2B client to learn about:
Branding guidelines (logo usage, color palette, fonts)
Office interior design (wall colors, lighting, dimensions)
Audience demographics (corporate partners, international visitors, government clients)
Sign goals (purely aesthetic vs. directional or multifunctional)
In this stage, designers brainstorm ideas that capture the essence of the brand. Mood boards, sketches, and mockups are often presented for initial feedback.
Key B2B Considerations:
Minimalist designs for professional law firms and financial institutions
Tech-inspired designs using metallic finishes or LED accents for IT firms
Warm, welcoming aesthetics for healthcare and consulting firms
Step 2: Material Selection and Design Detailing
Once the concept is approved, the next step involves choosing materials and refining the design. Material selection is vital, especially for B2B firms that value longevity and professional aesthetics. Common materials include:
Acrylic: Sleek and modern, perfect for tech or media companies
Metal (brushed aluminum or stainless steel): Ideal for law firms, financial firms, or B2B consultants
PVC or foam board: Budget-friendly but still professional, great for startups
Illuminated or backlit signs: For added visibility and prestige, often used in high-end office buildings
Color matching and finishes are crucial. Designers must ensure brand colors are consistent with digital and print materials. Finishing options—matte, gloss, brushed metal, or wood textures—are chosen to complement office interiors.
Step 3: Permitting and Compliance (Orlando-Specific Requirements)
While indoor lobby signs don’t typically require the same permits as exterior signage, it's still essential to consider:
Building codes and landlord requirements in Orlando's commercial buildings
ADA compliance—especially for signs that include directional elements
Fire safety regulations, ensuring signs are made from flame-retardant materials when required
Experienced Orlando sign companies help navigate these steps to avoid delays and ensure seamless approval from property managers or building associations.
Step 4: Fabrication and Customization
Once the design and materials are finalized, the fabrication process begins. This involves:
Precision cutting (laser or CNC machines for crisp lines)
Color application using UV printing or vinyl overlays
Lighting integration for backlit signs
3D layering to add depth and dimension
Fabrication can take a few days to several weeks depending on complexity. Custom logos, intricate shapes, or lighted elements may extend the timeline.
Tip for B2B Clients:
Opt for modular fabrication if you plan to rebrand or relocate within a few years. Modular signs allow easy updates to certain parts without complete replacement.
Step 5: Installation and Finishing Touches
The final step is installation—often the most visible part of the process. Professional installers in Orlando coordinate closely with office managers to ensure minimal disruption.
Installation steps include:
Wall preparation and measurement verification
Leveling and alignment
Electrical connection (for illuminated signs)
Secure mounting with hidden fasteners or stand-offs
Final inspection and client sign-off
Post-installation, the lobby area is cleaned and returned to its original state. A high-quality sign should look like it was meant to be there all along.
Orlando Case Study: Lobby Signage for a Financial Services Firm
A growing financial services firm in downtown Orlando recently revamped its lobby with a brushed aluminum sign featuring dimensional lettering and halo LED lighting. Working with a local sign company, the client chose a modern sans-serif typeface and integrated their brand's deep blue as an accent edge light.
The result? A sleek, sophisticated look that impressed visitors and clients alike. It not only elevated the physical space but helped reinforce the company’s brand identity as a trusted, modern financial partner.
Benefits of Investing in Custom Lobby Signs in Orlando
Enhanced Brand Perception: Clients perceive your brand as more trustworthy and established.
Increased Professionalism: A polished lobby sign communicates attention to detail.
Improved Client Experience: Navigation becomes seamless, and brand recognition increases.
Competitive Edge: In shared office spaces, signage differentiates your company from competitors.
Long-Term Value: Durable materials ensure the sign lasts for years with minimal maintenance.
Trends in Lobby Signs for 2025 and Beyond
For B2B businesses in Orlando looking ahead, here are some emerging trends:
Sustainable Materials: Recycled acrylic, bamboo, and eco-friendly foams are gaining traction.
Digital Lobby Signs: LCD or LED screens with motion graphics and real-time content updates.
Interactive Wayfinding: Touch screens or QR codes integrated into lobby signage.
Augmented Reality (AR) Enhancements: Especially for tech-forward companies, allowing clients to scan the sign for immersive content.
Biophilic Design Elements: Lobby signs that incorporate living walls or plant textures to bring nature indoors.
Choosing the Right Lobby Sign Company in Orlando
To ensure a smooth experience from concept to installation, B2B companies should look for a sign partner with:
Experience in the B2B sector
Strong portfolio of lobby sign projects
In-house design, fabrication, and installation teams
Knowledge of Orlando’s building regulations and commercial real estate landscape
Excellent customer service and post-installation support
Conclusion
For B2B companies in Orlando, lobby signage is more than decoration—it’s a strategic investment in branding, client perception, and business growth. From initial concept to professional installation, every step contributes to creating a welcoming, authoritative, and memorable space. In a competitive business hub like Orlando, where partnerships and impressions matter, custom lobby signs in Orlando offer a critical advantage that no B2B brand can afford to overlook.

Electronic Locks Market Drivers Empowering Secure Access and Smarter Protection in Modern Infrastructure
The electronic locks market is experiencing substantial growth, fueled by rising concerns over safety, convenience, and digital transformation in security systems. Increasing adoption across residential, commercial, and industrial environments is shaping the direction of market expansion. The integration of advanced technologies, such as biometrics, Bluetooth, RFID, and Wi-Fi, is further elevating the role of electronic locks as essential components in modern security solutions. Several key drivers are propelling the market forward, each playing a pivotal role in reshaping traditional access control mechanisms.

Demand for Enhanced Security Solutions
One of the most prominent drivers of the electronic locks market is the growing demand for high-level security solutions. With rising incidences of theft, burglary, and unauthorized access, consumers and businesses alike are opting for more reliable and intelligent locking systems. Unlike conventional locks, electronic locks offer layered security features including PIN codes, biometric scans, and time-based access, which reduce vulnerabilities and offer peace of mind.
Additionally, institutions such as banks, data centers, and healthcare facilities require rigorous security protocols. Electronic locks provide audit trails and real-time monitoring capabilities that help track entry logs, ensuring accountability and safeguarding sensitive environments. This demand for advanced, tamper-proof systems is continuously pushing the market toward technological evolution.
Growth in Smart Home and IoT Adoption
The increasing adoption of smart home technologies is another major market driver. As smart home ecosystems gain popularity, electronic locks are being seamlessly integrated with other smart devices like doorbell cameras, voice assistants, and central hubs. This connectivity allows users to control and monitor entry points remotely via smartphones or voice commands, adding significant convenience and security.
Furthermore, IoT-enabled locks provide real-time alerts, enabling homeowners and businesses to respond immediately to unauthorized access attempts. The growing trend of home automation and remote management is expected to remain a dominant force behind the proliferation of electronic locks.
Rising Urbanization and Infrastructure Development
Rapid urbanization, particularly in developing economies, is fostering the growth of modern housing and commercial infrastructure. Smart cities and digital buildings are increasingly incorporating electronic locks as part of their foundational security frameworks. New residential complexes, office buildings, hotels, and educational institutions are opting for electronic access control systems to streamline security operations.
Governments and private investors are channeling significant funds into real estate and infrastructure projects. With each new development, the need for scalable, high-tech locking mechanisms becomes more pronounced, further driving the electronic locks market.
Expanding Hospitality and Travel Industry
The hospitality industry is increasingly adopting electronic locks to enhance guest experiences and operational efficiency. Hotels and resorts prefer RFID-enabled or mobile app-based locking systems, which allow contactless check-ins and keyless entry. This not only improves convenience but also minimizes human error and enhances safety.
In the travel and tourism sector, vacation rentals and serviced apartments are leveraging electronic locks to provide secure, flexible access for guests. With short-term rentals becoming more popular, hosts prefer digital locks that can be programmed with temporary access codes and controlled remotely.
Rising Demand from Commercial and Industrial Sectors
Businesses are prioritizing secure access management, particularly for restricted or sensitive areas. Electronic locks provide them with the ability to control permissions based on employee roles, working hours, or location-specific requirements. Facilities such as warehouses, laboratories, and server rooms benefit immensely from electronic access control due to their heightened need for protection and tracking.
In industrial settings, electronic locks are being used to secure machinery, storage units, and hazardous zones. These sectors benefit from the robustness, auditability, and adaptability of electronic locking systems, making them vital tools in industrial safety protocols.
Technological Innovations and Product Diversification
Ongoing innovation in locking technology continues to boost the electronic locks market. Companies are investing in R&D to develop locks that are more user-friendly, secure, and adaptable to different settings. Hybrid models that support multiple authentication methods—such as biometric, PIN, and proximity cards—are gaining traction for their versatility.
Moreover, the miniaturization of components and improvements in battery life are enhancing the usability and longevity of electronic locks. Customization options for different environments and applications also appeal to a broader customer base, encouraging higher market penetration.
Conclusion
The electronic locks market is being driven by a powerful combination of safety needs, technological advancement, and consumer preferences for convenience. From securing private homes and businesses to supporting the digital transformation of cities, electronic locks are becoming an integral part of the modern security landscape. As demand continues to rise across various sectors, manufacturers are expected to focus more on innovation, affordability, and user-centric features to maintain momentum in this evolving market.

Residential vs. Commercial: Which Property Investment Is Better in Portugal?
Portugal has emerged as one of the most attractive real estate destinations in Europe, offering investors a combination of strong returns, lifestyle benefits, and visa advantages. Whether you're an expat, retiree, or a foreign investor, choosing between residential and commercial property investments is a crucial decision. Both options offer unique benefits, but your choice should align with your financial goals, risk appetite, and investment timeline.
In this article, we’ll explore the key differences between residential and commercial property investment in Portugal and help you determine which one aligns best with your goals. This guide is especially useful for those seeking Portugal Best Property Investment Opportunities in 2025 and beyond.
Understanding Residential Property Investment in Portugal
What Counts as Residential Property?
Residential properties in Portugal include apartments, villas, townhouses, and short-term rental accommodations (like Airbnb units). These are primarily used for living purposes or holiday rentals.
Advantages of Residential Investments
1. High Demand from Tourists and Expats
Portugal, particularly areas like Lisbon, Porto, and the Algarve, sees high demand for holiday rentals due to its warm climate, rich culture, and safe environment. Expat communities are also growing, increasing demand for long-term rentals.
2. Lower Entry Costs
Compared to commercial real estate, residential properties generally require a lower upfront investment. This makes them more accessible for individual investors and first-time buyers.
3. Golden Visa Eligibility
Purchasing residential real estate in Portugal has historically been a popular route for obtaining the Golden Visa, although regulations have shifted in 2024. In some interior regions, residential properties still qualify.
4. Easier to Finance
Banks in Portugal are often more comfortable lending for residential properties, especially if it's a primary or secondary home.
Disadvantages of Residential Investments
Rental income may be seasonal in tourist-heavy regions.
Tenant turnover can be higher with short-term rentals.
Property management can be time-consuming, especially if managing multiple units.
Understanding Commercial Property Investment in Portugal
What Is Commercial Property?
Commercial properties include office buildings, retail spaces, warehouses, hotels, and mixed-use developments. These properties are leased to businesses rather than individuals.
Advantages of Commercial Investments
1. Higher Rental Yields
Commercial properties in key business zones like Lisbon, Porto, and Braga often yield higher returns than residential units, with lease terms ranging from 3–10 years.
2. Stable Tenants
Commercial tenants usually sign longer leases and are responsible for many property-related expenses (such as maintenance and insurance), resulting in lower overheads and fewer vacancies.
3. Diversification of Portfolio
Adding commercial property to your real estate portfolio helps reduce risk and balance your income sources.
4. Opportunity in Emerging Sectors
Portugal’s booming tourism and startup sectors have created opportunities in hospitality, coworking spaces, and logistics centers. Investing in these niches can be part of Portugal best property investment opportunities for institutional or seasoned investors.
Disadvantages of Commercial Investments
Higher initial investment and operating costs.
Sensitive to economic downturns—business closures can impact occupancy.
Requires more due diligence and professional guidance.
Portugal’s Market Overview: Residential vs. Commercial Performance
Residential Market Trends (2024–2025)
Portugal's residential market has seen steady growth over the past decade. According to the Portuguese National Institute of Statistics (INE), property prices increased over 10% year-over-year in key regions like Lisbon and the Algarve. The demand for short-term rental units remains strong, especially in coastal and historic areas.
Foreign investors from countries like the USA, UK, France, and Brazil continue to enter the market seeking Portugal best property investment opportunities due to favorable taxation, stable returns, and lifestyle perks.
Commercial Market Trends (2024–2025)
The commercial market is evolving, especially in response to remote work trends. However, hospitality real estate (hotels and guesthouses) and retail in high-traffic tourist zones remain in demand. Industrial and logistics spaces around Lisbon and Porto are also seeing rising interest due to e-commerce growth and improved infrastructure.

Garrett Crochet Secures $170 Million Extension with Red Sox, Cementing His Role as the Future of the Team
In a move that marks a bold new chapter for the Boston Red Sox, the team has locked down one of Major League Baseball’s most exciting young pitchers, Garrett Crochet, with a six-year, $170 million contract extension. According to multiple sources, the deal was officially confirmed late Monday and will begin at the start of the 2026 season. The contract also includes a player opt-out after the 2030 season, giving Crochet the opportunity to test the market again at age 31, should he maintain elite performance.
A Long-Term Commitment to an Emerging Star
With this contract extension, Boston is signaling a clear message to its fanbase and the league: Crochet is the future of the team. The contract reflects the organization’s deep faith in a pitcher who has yet to even reach 250 career innings but has already displayed dominant, ace-level potential when healthy. This deal also represents a record for a player with just over four years of MLB experience, surpassing the previous record set by Jacob deGrom’s $137.5 million extension with the New York Mets in 2019.
Crochet’s journey to this point has been far from typical. After being selected 11th overall in the 2020 MLB Draft by the Chicago White Sox, the former University of Tennessee standout made the rare jump directly from college to the majors during the COVID-shortened season. His early appearances in the majors were nothing short of impressive, throwing six scoreless innings out of the bullpen and showcasing a fastball that routinely hit triple digits, quickly establishing himself as one of the most intriguing young arms in baseball.
Boston's Bold Bet on Crochet's Future
This move is not just a financial commitment but a reflection of Boston’s belief in the long-term potential of Crochet. Although some front offices might be hesitant to offer such a deal to a pitcher with fewer than 250 career innings, the Red Sox saw the bigger picture. Initially used in relief roles, Crochet became a high-leverage weapon for the White Sox before suffering a setback in 2022 when he underwent Tommy John surgery, sidelining him for the entire season.
Returning in 2023 with a cautious workload, Crochet began to find his rhythm again. By 2024, the White Sox decided to stretch him out into a starting role, and the decision paid off handsomely. Crochet enjoyed a breakout season, finishing with 209 strikeouts and only 33 walks in 146 innings, all while maintaining his top-tier velocity and adding a devastating cutter to his arsenal. Despite being limited to shorter outings as the season wound down, his dominance was evident, prompting the Red Sox to make their move.
A Massive Investment in a Future Ace
The $170 million extension is a substantial financial commitment, yet it also highlights Boston’s confidence in Crochet’s ability to develop into the ace of their rotation. The deal eliminates the possibility of him reaching free agency after the 2026 season, which would have made him one of the most sought-after arms on the market. It also demonstrates that the Red Sox are serious about building a competitive team for the immediate future, as evidenced by their aggressive moves during the offseason, including the acquisition of Crochet through a blockbuster trade with the White Sox.
In the trade, Boston parted with a significant package, including highly-rated catcher Kyle Teel, outfielder Braden Montgomery, infielder Chase Meidroth, and pitcher Wikelman Gonzalez. This bold trade, coupled with the record extension, reinforces that the Red Sox view Crochet as a pivotal piece in their pursuit of postseason success.
A Franchise Shifting Toward Contention
The addition of Crochet is just one part of an aggressive winter for the Red Sox, signaling a shift away from rebuilding and toward playoff contention. In addition to securing Crochet, Boston also made key moves to fortify their roster, including signing third baseman Alex Bregman to a three-year, $120 million deal and adding right-hander Walker Buehler for a one-year, $21.05 million contract. These moves give the Red Sox a mix of established talent and high-upside players ready to compete at a high level.
Standing 6-foot-6 and weighing 245 pounds, Crochet brings an imposing physical presence to the mound. His combination of size, velocity, and evolving secondary pitches makes him a potential ace, a role that the Red Sox have not had a true fixture in since Chris Sale’s prime years. The decision to lock him in before he throws a single pitch for Boston reflects their belief in his ability to rise to the occasion and live up to his vast potential.
Looking Ahead: A Bright Future for the Red Sox
The contract also includes an opt-out after the 2030 season, offering Crochet the flexibility to explore free agency at a younger age than most pitchers would. This mirrors trends seen in the contracts of pitchers like Max Fried and Blake Snell, who secured large contracts in their early 30s after successful seasons. If Crochet continues on his current trajectory, another nine-figure deal could be within his reach.
Boston’s faith in Crochet isn’t just based on his electric stuff but also on his ability to lead a pitching staff and influence the team’s culture. Despite his unorthodox path from college to the majors and his transition from bullpen to starter, his resilience and adaptability have impressed the Red Sox front office. In fact, his strong offseason attitude, where he made it clear he only wanted to pitch for a contender, played a role in Boston’s willingness to meet his long-term demands.
Beyond Crochet, the Red Sox are positioning themselves for future success by building around a core that includes rising stars like second baseman Kristian Campbell, outfielder Roman Anthony, and shortstop Marcelo Mayer. The team’s recent acquisitions, including Bregman and Buehler, give the Red Sox a potent combination of youth and experience that could help them make a deep postseason run sooner rather than later.
The 2024 season marks a new beginning for the Boston Red Sox, with Garrett Crochet leading the charge. After a few years of rebuilding, this offseason shows that the franchise is ready to contend for championships once again. With their new $170 million man on the mound, fans have every reason to feel optimistic about the Red Sox’s future.
