Rambling about the Ghibli movies I’ve seen
1. Howl’s Moving Castle
Tumblr media
This was my first ever Ghibli movie! And I loved it and I still love it. It was like this amazing discovery and I was hooked on the animation, the character design and the story. There were funny moments, thoughtful moments and even scary ones. I remember thinking Calcifer was hilarious and I watched it dubbed in Spanish and Howl’s voice is the same as Castle/Nathan Fillion, but the VA does a great job. It’s one of my favorites, probably the most.
2. From up on Poppy Hill
Tumblr media
Watched it in English and I’ll probably rewatch it that way just for Anton Yelchin. It was yet another surprise. Has a good tone and music and the story is okay until the weird SPOILER “are they siblings?” part END SPOILER. Yep, I get it was because of the war and all that. Anyway, it’s on my top list. Also, I ended up expecting a kiss or hug or something but then I read Ghibli doesn’t portray relationships that way... and I’m okay with that.
3. The Secret World of Arriety
Tumblr media
This movie was so pretty! Well, all of them are pretty, but I really liked the production design in this one. And my first time watching a Ghibli movie in Japanese (Your Name was my first movie in Japanese and I had rewatched Howl’s... with subs before, but you know). It feels like a fairytale and it has great music.
4. Spirited Away
Tumblr media
I guess this is some sort of Alice in Wonderland Ghibli version. And, oh, my, is it bonkers. Lots of creativity here with the character designs, the story is great but it had a lot of WTH moments and I really wanted them to reunite after all that.
5. Kiki’s Delivery Service
Tumblr media
This one was a little boring. It looked promising, I love witches and the premise is interesting, but it dragged a little, the boy is so annoying and my favorite character is the cat, so...
6. Ponyo
Tumblr media
The Little Mermaid, Ghibli version (btw, I got nothing against retelling fairytales, because they do it in such a creative way). This was the opposite: weird start, got me hooked. Ponyo is a delightful character. Between my favorites.
7. Princess Mononoke
Tumblr media
Loved the idea and the beginning, got weirder and weirder. I get it could be a product of its time, but the story would benefit from a little more work. Although I liked the spirits design and it obviously inspired the creators of ATLA, especially in the creature design for Korra.
8. Castle in the Sky
Tumblr media
Another product of its time in terms of pacing and the strange obsession of grown men towards a little girl. It was... nice. Reminded me a lot of Atlantis, so I guess Disney took some notes. The design of the city was good and the lore interesting. And the boy got me chuckling in the action scenes, doing all that barefoot.
9. My Neighbor Totoro
Tumblr media
Talking about cute. This movie is so simple and yet so good. The tiny Totoro has to be my favorite Ghibli creature and it has a lot of charm.
10. Whisper of the Heart
Tumblr media
While I usually hate those kind of endings (love has had me waiting enough), it made me feel hopeful instead of sad. Another movie with a slow pace but a really long scene is just following a cat, so of course it was going to get on the top of my list. Is quite relatable as a writer and I sure hoped I’ve had (or had now) that support from my parents. The scenes of the book look great and even though I already knew what was going to happen from 5 minutes in, I didn’t even care.

watching studio ghibli movies with their s/o
— todoroki shouto, takami keigo, aizawa shouta
Tumblr media
a.n: this was requested by a lovely anon! this took me a little bit, but i hope you like it!! <333 this is gender neutral btw
Tumblr media
todoroki shouto
skip if you don’t wanna read the saddest thing ever
but shouto hasn’t watched any studio ghibli movies before he and you started dating
he just didn’t have the time/opportunity outside of his intense training with endeavor
when you find out about that you’re about to march to the todoroki mansion yourself to have a word with the man
but you can contain your anger
so instead you make it your mission to educate shouto
yes educate
not having watched ghibli movies certainly is a huge educational gap
shouto doesn’t complain
he likes spending time with you
and he certainly won’t waste the opportunity to spend the afternoon cuddled up with you
laying in bed and being all warm and cozy
you’ll make tea and get all the snacks
and you tell shouto to pay attention because you have to make up for some important childhood memories
he absolutely adores ghibli movies after that
mainly because he connects them to spending time with you while you’re all happy and calm
he really enjoys the music, too
(probably uses some of the soundtrack to help him sleep)
it’s just so calm and happy
he also loves the visuals
shouto is a man of taste alright
whenever you roll up with a blanket under your one arm and a laptop under your other he knows it’s studio ghibli time
(also his prime time for receiving cuddles!)
you’re all tangled up on another lazy afternoon
you don’t talk a lot, you just enjoy the quiet and calm
shouto smiles a lot and it makes you so happy
his favorite is either my neighbor totoro or ponyo
you get him a totoro plushie because you see him eyeing that big fluffy boy a lot
spirited away is also very high up because the visuals are so nice
but he doesn’t really dislike any of the other movies
they’re just these wholesome stories
and they all have cute happy endings
shouto loves happy ending he’s a softie
he hums all the songs and it’s so soothing
you join in of course because that’s couple goals
you totally pull him up to mimic totoro’s dance when it happens in the movie
takami keigo
it probably doesn’t come as a surprise
but this man has also never seen a studio ghibli movie before in his life
his childhood was filled with training to become a pro hero
birdie didn’t have much free time to waste on movies :c
the more excited he is whenever he has time to catch up with whatever new media
but boy oh boy
when you introduce him to those masterpieces
it’s game over
hawks loves, absolutely adores ghibli movies now
they’re his favorite thing in the world!
you’re his favorite periodt okay, you don’t have to worry about that
he usually doesn’t have a lot of time watching any movies because he is so busy with hero work (also the hero public safety commission doesn’t give that guy a break)
but whenever he has a free night (and you’re free as well) he loves spending it watching one of them movies with you
movie nights are always fun with him, since he likes to provide a+ commentary
he cracks jokes and drops cheesy one liners
that’s just how he is
he’s also super affectionate
he’ll hold you close and play with your hair the entire time
only eyes for you (and the movie of course)
he’s a secret sap okay
he loves the ones that include romance stories
his favorite is howl’s moving castle by far
totally sees himself as howl don’t even try me
don’t laugh when he makes the comparison
he’s very invested with that kin
“we’re both handsome and charming, don’t cha think?“
you agree because you know it’ll make him happy
(and he truly is both of those things)
but also howl turns into a bird as well…
so it is kinda crazy
when you get to that part of the movie hawks is bubbling over with joy
“told ya! we’re both birds.“
he is grinning widely and he looks so cute
your boyfriend is a dork but you still love him
hawks is so invested in the story that he even shuts up for a while
especially whenever sophie and howl interact he’s just like...so. quiet.
you love seeing how focused he is
he’s just so cute like that!!
he’ll try to be as charming as howl (because that flower field scene…uuff)
he’ll tell you how beautiful you are
and that he’d still love you even if you were as old and wrinkly as sophie
you smile at him and kiss him because he truly is just as charming
he’s also very committed to the act
he’d take you to a flower field so you can actually be like sophie and howl, because they’re honestly goals
and since he has wings you can both re-enact the scene where howl and sophie walk in the air when fleeing from those men in the beginning of the movie
other movies he really likes are castle in the sky and princess mononoke
as mentioned, hawks really likes the romance
aizawa shouta
this man secretly loves studio ghibli movies above all else
not only because they’re calm and peaceful enough to fall asleep to
(although that’s one positive for sure)
he likes how suitable they are for all ages
(as a teacher he automatically pays attention to that)
and he likes all the little messages that are conveyed through them
he likes them best, when he’s watching them with you though
he just thinks it’s so cute how much you enjoy them
you also look adorable all comfy and cozy
whenever both of you have a free day
you’re both pretty busy so that’s a rare occasion
you cuddle up on the couch to spend your morning (or just the whole day really) watching your favorite studio ghibli movies
aizawa’s secret favorite is the cat returns
he is a cat lover so don’t try to convince me otherwise
cats just cats
you like to tease him that he probably likes the movie so much because he too would like to be turned into a cat and be married off to some beautiful cat prince/princess
that mf just turns and smiles at you
"don’t i already have you, though, kitten?“
he’s smooth alright
actual prince lune for sure
and you’re a goner
aizawa would deny it but he’s rooting for prince lune and yuki
he’s a big sap okay
so when the prince gives yuki the fish crackers…
let’s just say you’ll find your favorite snack on your nightstand the next morning with a little note attached to it
something cute like “good morning, kitten.“
other movies he enjoys greatly are kiki’s delivery service and my neighbor totoro
not because cats are in it…
haha no
certainly not the main reason
never
that man also looks exactly like totoro when he smiles
you notice that during one of your lazy movie days
you were watching the movie for the first time together that day
and you were draped over aizawa, both of you in peaceful silence when boom
totoro smiles
your jaw drops to the floor i tell you
when you look over to tell your boyfriend about it though
(and maybe tease him about it shh)
oh no
he’s already exposing you to his crazy all-teeth grin
now both of you can’t watch the movie without aizawa pulling up that smile whenever totoro smiles in the movie
it’s straight up comical
you kiss his cheek for his effort every time
he also loves the cat bus
(which also looks a little like aizawa when he grins)

remembered I was left alone a lot as a kid during gatherings, little vent under the cut I guess
Can't really put them in order because this is old, but most of these take place during elementary, and the latest one was about 8th grade I believe, it's not even a 'real' left alone one
1. That one time at *my* birthday, I got a cluedo jr and really enjoyed it, we played one game and I wanted to go for another, but the other kids went 'nah we don't want to' and left me to go play outside (we did have a pretty rad tree-house for the surrounding area); so I stayed inside and read the Ponyo book someone gifted me, I can remember sitting on the stairs. To be fair it was my choice to stay inside because I was petty
2. At a friend's birthday, we were all playing and at some point they all went to the girl's room and locked the door to keep me out; I thought we were playing and just ran as fast as I could to the other door but they had also blocked it off. I gave up after asking to be let in a few times and then heard one of the kids (I still hate this bitch) saying -loudly so I could hear too- stuff like 'don't you think Layer is so annoying?' and on. And then when I was upset and stayed playing some sort of tiny gameboy on the couch while they were eating cake later, they had the audacity to call me rude.
3. We were at my parents' friends house, our moms were cooking something and my sister was playing with the daughter. I was playing with one of the sons who was two years older than me (I must have been 8); he showed me their tree house and then left me there. He went down and kicked away the only ladder to get down and just went back to the house and chilled there. I called but the house was pretty far away so they most likely didn't hear me. I had to jump from about 3m/9ft off the ground to get down. I did hurt my leg but I got one of his Penny-wise mag so win-win
4. Friends gathering for my parents, me and my sister are brought along, I go to play with the kids. 'You're going to hide there and then we'll come get you later', oldest son pulls some kind of shitty fence and leaves me behind the garden locker. I wait for a long while and no one comes get me, and I could hear them all play around the garden. So at some point I start to realize no one is coming for me, so I leave and go ask the adults where the other kids are. 'Oh they went down to watch a movie, weren't you with them?'. Yeah, I don't really like their kids...
5. Now this is more a generality but at some point whenever we would go to houses of my parents' friends I would just not try anymore. When we were at point 4's house I'd sit on the ground near the bookshelf and just read whatever was there (I can remember reading 'the ocean child' there). At someone else's the older kids wouldn't allow me to play on the Wii with them so I would go to the guest room, sit on the ground, and read the comics the home owner had (most were very inappropriate for a kid, I can remember one had smthg to do with sex slaves. I was under 12 btw); the same guy was nice and would put on movies for me and give me games and stuff, his wife is nice too. At another parents-friend's house the kids would once again leave me out of the games so I would go to whatever room had a bookshelf and sit and read for the afternoon/evening; and this went on to me just gaining the 'quiet child that likes to read' archetype when I was just being ostracized at first. This goes on, I can remember reading a comic about the Zodiac killer and Sanctuary at someone else's house, this has no end.
6. Another generality but when I realized the kids weren't good I went and try to be more adult to fit with the grown-ups. All this got me was being even more ignored, some passive misogynistic comments, basically my dad would just make fun of me and my mom wasn't listening. One time, one of the woman had let me borrow a book series from her (called Oksa Pollock), and I had finished it, I was super excited, so I started talking to her about the series, how I was disappointed by the ending and how the story developed in a way that felt weird; not only did she barely listened to me she jumped on another convo the moment she could, so I just shut up and went to sit on the stairs to read. Now I'm just used to not being heard even when I speak, like literally not being heard.

i don't know if you've seen all the ghibli movies but i'm slowly working my way through them (lol i've seen like three) and i was wondering which ones are the best that i should really watch?
Oh, you’re so lucky! I wish I could watch Studo Ghibli movies for the first time again. I don’t know which three you’ve watched, but the top three most well-known films (the ones that come to mind when most people hear “Miyazaki” or “Studio Ghibli”) are Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro, and Howl’s Moving Castle. Those three are kind of the Ghibli starter pack, so I recommend starting there.
My personal top three, however, are (no spoilers):
3. Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind (1984):
It takes place in a post-apocalyptic world and follows a princess named Nausicaä. I love the way everything is designed and developed. It has a great opening scene, it immediately immerses you into the world.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
2. The Wind Rises (2013):
Tells the story of a Japanese aeronautical engineer who wanted to design beautiful airplanes, but, because of WWII, is required to design fighter planes instead. A fictionalized biographical film about the real-life Jiro Horikoshi. Very sad, bring tissues. Has a fairly good English dub.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
1. Princess Mononoke (1997):
Not just my favorite Ghibli movie, but my favorite movie overall. The story follows Ashitaka, a young man who has been infected by a curse and heads west to find a cure. He finds himself involved in the main conflict, a war between the gods of the forest and the industrializing humans who are destroying nature. (Ashitaka is my PFP, btw). I don’t recommend the English dub for this one. Most Ghibli movies have pretty good dubs (like Spirited Away and Howl’s Moving Castle), but this one’s is kinda bad, imo.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Doesn’t really fit onto my list, but I do love Ponyo, too. I watched it over and over again when I was a kid. Although all Studio Ghibli movies are fantastical and magical, I think Ponyo is the most joyfully magically. It’s a good comfort movie.)
Also, all of these movies are on HBO Max. That’s really the only place to stream them.

So aside from GOW what other games do u rec?
OH BOY, I love me some video games!! I’ll recommend a few I think are worth trying if you haven’t yet!
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess You may or may not have played this one, but honestly it’s so good... Definitely one of my favorite games to play, I love the soundtrack, plot, and the atmosphere especially. Also my favorite version of the Princess Zelda herself! I love that they went for a more edgy, grungy type of feel (which a lot of people actually criticized it for, but I think it’s terrific) and I wish they’d do it again. This still has the cute charm and loveliness as other Zelda games, but there’s something about it that’s also a bit creepy and I love that.
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey: This is what I’ve been playing recently! Honestly this game is so fucking funny but also has a lot of really sweet cutscenes/plot/character interactions and I’m living for it. This also might just be my bias bc I’m a HUGE history/mythology nerd so this is right up my alley. Lots of stuff to do and places to go, you can fool around in-between plot driven missions, and the mechanics are very similar to AC Origins if you’ve played that one, which I would also like to recommend, but have not actually played fully myself. Also YOU CAN BE GAY/BI, DID I MENTION THAT??
American McGee’s Alice: Madness Returns: Note that this is a sequel to the first 2000 computer game American McGee’s Alice, but I haven’t played the first one! Despite what the name suggests (which btw, wasn’t approved of by the game’s creator American McGee), this game actually dealt with topics about mental illness more respectfully than some other games at the time, but it does have period-accurate terminology and behavior towards it and might have some potentially triggering content (depending on the person, but there is a lot), so just a fair warning because this IS a horror game. This game takes place in Victorian England with Alice Liddell (character-inspired, not real person) as it’s titular protagonist of wonderland. This game has a clever and evocative plot progression, BEAUTIFUL, STUNNING, and HAUNTING visuals, gorgeous costume and character design, a ghostly but dreamy atmosphere, and a killer soundtrack. Alice is also in no way sexualized so that’s a bonus. I love this game so much, but honestly like I said, proceed with caution if you have any triggers, especially ones relating to mental illness+all that implies or blood. But if you’re thinking about playing this one, come ask me again and I’ll be more specific so you know what you’re getting yourself into!
Never Alone: REALLY fucking cute game with a NATIVE PROTAG. It also simultaneously teaches you about Inupiat traditions etc as you progress the plot! It almost has Ghibli-ponyo-esque vibes to it, and the animation is gorgeous. Just the fact that it was so Indigenous integrated with the game’s creation, plot, character design, etc is I think, a reason to play. Centers around an Inupiat girl named Nuna and her arctic Fox friend on a mission to find the source of a blistering storm.
Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor: LOTR GAME AAAAAAAAAAH. This is set in-between the events of the Hobbit, and Fellowship of the Ring, and while certain characters DO make cameos from the original films, it centers around Talion, a newer character. I’d also recommend this game’s sequel, Shadow of War, which has POC so??? HOLY shit??? who ARENT evil!!! the game mechanics and physics are a bit like Assassin’s creed and the plot is kinda cool for its positioning of when it happens within the timelines, so you the player are RIGHT up witnessing what’s going on pre-lotr, which is pretty cool. This is also where that “press x to kiss your wife” meme comes from! and the characters are pretty interesting where we get to see the lives of civilians and everyday people whereas most of lotr characters are rich or nobility of some sort, so I like that aspect as well. Overall I think it’s worth a shot!
Mirror’s Edge: Do you like Parkouring and jumping around? Then you’ll like this!!! There’s a lot of jumping, running, and climbing involved in this game, it’s kind of addictive. However, it’s not quite as open world for climbing as say Assassin’s Creed. But I found it fun nonetheless! The main character is also a Woc (Asian) so that’s wicked. I never finished it myself, but I’d def recommend it!
Sorry if that was kind of longn shfusdhfs. I Also tried to stick with games that are more recent, since some of my other recommendations are console specific (Like Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep or God of War: Ghost of Sparta, both of which I’d recommend) and aren’t being produced anymore (so you gotta get em on like, amazon or kajiji or something). But yeah!! If you try any, come back and tell me how you like em!

Hi I'm new to anime & I trust and admire u!!! What do u recommend??
Hey there! and yeeesss, i’m so glad you’re gonna give anime a try! there are so many good stories and plots in anime which dont exist in western media so it’s a great mode of entertainment! so as for recs, lemme copy and paste my previous list and update it to answer your question!
Currently watching:
Neon Genesis Evangelion - i admit it has a slow buildup but be patient because you will really find it intense and see how it’s not your typical mecca anime. so far, i think it seems to be a deconstruction of the genre and has alot of psychological themes
Boku no Hero Academia - it’s a recent anime and it’s really good! i think it’s on course to becoming a really big anime that will last many seasons at this rate. the story is about a world where majority of the inhabitants are heroes cause they have quirks (powers).. and the premise is that the main character doesnt have one but he wants to be a hero so watch and see how the story unfolds!
JoJo’s Bizarre Adventures (currently on Stardust Crusaders) - macho anime with an excellent plot! the guys are hot haha and many of the memes are in japanese so watch the original subbed but if you prefer not to read, the dub isnt bad. it’s very memey but the story is really entertaining and has unpredictable moments
One Punch Man - a parody of a superhero anime. tbh this isnt really binge-watch material cause it’s like a running gag and the story unfolds after episode 5 so i’ve just been watching this during my cardio days in the gym. but it’s really funny and a good anime
Hunter X Hunter - this anime is popular and it’s about hunters. so the beginning has the protagonist wanting to be a hunter and then he meets some fellow hunters along the way. it’s one of the highest rated anime in MyAnimeList (the RottenTomatoes equivalent of the anime world) so yeah check this out!
Recently watched:
Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure (Battle Tendency) - SONO CHI NO SADAMEEE JOOOOOOJOOOOOOOOOOOOOO the type of anime that’ll get you wanting to go to the gym and lift. that being said, it has a really amazing story
Shingeki no Kyojin / Attack on Titan - it’s the Game of Thrones of anime imo.. like it’s so GOOD.. it will just make you gag after every episode!!! it’s so intense and there are really badass characters. and the plot is really brilliant. like if you think season 1 was like WHAT THE FUCkk.. wait til season 2! this anime is crazy and exciting. not for the faint-hearted tbh cause it can be graphic and disturbing (also dont get attached. they could die!) but yeah, this anime is popular true and some say it’s overrated but that’s because it really deserves all the recognition and success it has for its amazing plot
Love Live! School Idol Project - i honestly just watched this like out of curiosity and just for kicks. i was not expecting to love it but after episode 3, i was like wait??? wasnt this anime supposed to be fun?? why am i crying?? so yeah, it’s super good, touching, entertaining and sweet! and the songs are really catchy and good.. TBH this anime is like so gay since there are no men (except Honoka’s dad) so yeah it passes the Bechdel Test with perfect score
Love Live! Movie - the conclusion to the anime!
Love Live! Sunshine - i watched this like a few months after finishing Love Live! cause i loved the original girls and i was worried i wont like these girls.. but honestly, you will appreciate them. and it’s EVEN GAYER.. and is soo good too!
btw tell me who your fave girls/best girls are after watching Love Live and Sunshine. my best girls are Umi Sonoda and Kanan Matsuura :>
Anime watched/finished:
Kimi no Na Wa - universally lauded and recently released! it’s the best film released in 2016 imo. i swear it’s really next level storytelling
Rurouni Kenshin - i think i watched this anime twice/thrice.. It’s so suspenseful. it’s about samurais. and this anime made me interested about Japan’s history. it’s kind of a period drama with amazing fight sequences. and it’s critically acclaimed. it’s my father’s all-time favourite anime
Rurouni Kenshin OVA - it’s a prequel. also more violent and tragic than its anime counterpart.. like it’s really different from the series. but it’s so good. you’ll find out how Kenshin got his iconic X mark from here!)
Ghost Stories - THE DUB IS A MASTERPIECE! THE SUBBED IS SHIT. TRUST ME. the DUB is the popular one too cause it’s the superiour version. You really have to see this one. the anime bombed in Japan so the english dubbers got all the rights for the anime and they gave the go signal for the dubbers to do whatever the fuck they want and the end result is fucking hilarious. it shits on the Scary Movie Franchise tbh
Puella Magi Madoka Magica - i swear do not be deceived.. it is a really intense and surprisingly dark anime with excellent plot twists
Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun - super funny anime. if you need a laugh, this will really lift you up. i watched the first two episodes in sub and dub back to back.. and i can vouch that the voice actors for the English dub are excellent. it’s actually even funnier.. but if you prefer subs, then that’s fine. it’s just the lines are more humorous, expressive and have more variety :) Nozaki’s voice is also attractive in the dub.. it’s still very Nozaki imo. this anime pokes fun at the shoujo manga yet still has romantic elements. it’s mostly comedy though
Jigoku Shoujo / Hell Girl - angst, tragedy, philosophical anime analysing humanity’s hatred, need for vengeance, and suffering. Futakomori or the 2nd season is my favourite but it’s worth finishing the entire series. 3rd season is very painful to watch though and you dont have to watch that one tbh if you dont want to lol
Yu Yu Hakusho - occult, spirit world, ghosts, and fighting. you most probably have heard of this
Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters - 1st series starring Yugi. iconic!
Digimon - can be very intense! better than Pokemon imo
Cardcaptor Sakura - this is also suspenseful. like the premise is essentially that Sakura has to catch all the “monsters” that were freed from this book. and it’s up to her to “capture” them and put into cards. magic, fantasy, and beautiful animation
Ranma ½ - this was so funny but the ending was disappointing cause it got cancelled apparently.. i really hope this will go out of limbo and give us a proper ending like InuYasha did but i doubt it
Danganronpa (murder plot twists, intense and despair-filled storyline. click this to know more about the premise. it’s like Battle Royale meets CSI meets How To Get Away With Murder. btw i highly suggest you play this game (it’s available on Steam) instead of watching the poorly condensed anime. so buy it on steam or you can download it how you like cause it’s one of the best games ever. and if you plan on watching this, there is no Danganronpa 2 anime so yeah just play the first game tbh. here’s a trailer of the game https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RwJeZPMhdUk. if ya dont wanna play the games then you can watch the anime. and after watching this, here’s a link of the playthrough of the 2nd game. it’s super fun, full of plot twists, and interactive)
Yuri On Ice - it’s a really cute gay anime. people will argue it isnt and its queerbait but i’m gay and alot of the things which happen are too much for just bros to do so yeah, i believe it’s canon gay or mlm. and i enjoyed it so you watch it and be the judge
Blood+ - vampires and sword fighting
Ghost In The Shell - it’s a sci-fi movie
Yakitate Japan - baking and cooking!
Getbackers - still up to debate if the duo are gay but if you google art of them, there have been official art released and it’s so gay lol. but yeah it’s shonen genre and it’s not canon gay
Cowboy Bebop - a CLASSIC. the dub is great!!
I don’t remember if i finished these but I watched a lot of episodes enough to recommend it and will rewatch them soon to relieve memories. I’m pretty sure I tuned in though and watched like 80%:
Fushigi Yuugi (i think this is shoujo but it has a nice adventure storyline)
Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood  (i feel like i actually finished this. idk why my memory is hazy concerning this anime. this is so popular. you should’ve heard of this iconic anime somehow. i watched and tuned in but i don’t remember how or when i stopped)
Gundam series (i think i finished the first Gundam and the second)
Tsubasa Chronicles (it’s like a spin-off of Cardcaptor Sakura but they’re like all grown up and the plot is different)
Naruto
One Piece (i watched like the first four seasons)
Bleach (i remembered watching until episode 40 omg)
Great Teacher Onizuka (this is so funny tbh. i think i watched almost all of it)
Studio Ghibli films I watched:
Spirited Away
The Wind Rises
Ponyo
Tales from Earthsea
Anime I plan to watch (many suggested this to me and i plan on watching them so i’ll write them down here) :
Koe no Katachi (A Silent Voice)
Anohana The Flower We Saw That Day
Neon Genesis Evangelion
Tokyo Ghoul
Re: Zero
Your Lie in April
Shin sekai Yori
Gintama
More of Makoto Shinkai’s movies like 5 centimetres per second, etc.)
More Ghibli films too

Kwave 3 Experience
Hiii~ This was a post that was supposedly posted long ago but I got caught up in college so yeah. Anyway this was my experience attending the event so bear in mind that this was solely my opinion :)
READ : This experience will mainly focus on Monsta X but I’ll include my general impression of the other idols performing as well.
Attending Kwave 3 is my second time attending Kpop events for this year of 2018. Fortunately enough I was able to attend this event because of Monsta X (multifandom stans can relate lmao) but kudos to the organiser for being so attentive and detailed to ensure the event ran smoothly. A lil’ bit of tea: The venue of #Kwave3MusicFestival  is the one where Twiceland in Malaysia was supposedly held but was CANCELLED AT VERY LAST MINUTE (less than 24 hours) by the organiser due to a supposedly stage setting and production mishap(?) so everyone was really disappointed (and scared) if the same thing happens again. TwiceLandInMalaysia’s organiser is also infamous for the #WannaBelovedInKL mishap – basically they’re the shittiest and worst organiser ever! (Note: Kwave 3 and Twice’s organisers are different)

Fast forward to the concert day itself. I arrived at the concert venue around 4pm+ because the weather was a bit gloomy on that day itself and went to explore the booths around the area to kill some time. I brought my Shownu memes placards as a substitute because I didn’t have the official lightstick (sad life of a broke fangirl) and also I wanted him to know he is loved (he deserves all the love in this world).  Anyway,  if any of you happened to see a girl wearing red flannel walking around with her Shownu memes high chances are it’s probably me lmao XD
So this was my seat’s view~
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A compulsory pic of the ticket hehe!
Tumblr media
This were the Shownu placard memes that I made last minute (hopefully Shownu saw them haha)
Around 7.50pm the screen while replayed the adverts turned pitch black and that’s when we were all getting reallllyyyy excited because the event was gonna start soon and BAM! The MC came out (I forgot his name sorry) and started introducing the artists who were going to perform. I had this teeny tiny bit that WJSN would be the first one to perform and I was right. Then the girls came on stage and started the show with Dreams Come true. I didn’t really know all the members but I recognised EXY, Yeonjung, Dawon, Seola and Bona. There were only 10 members that night (minus the Chinese members) and that was really unfortunate because I had wanted to see ChengXiao on stage as well . Next they performed Secret which was among the songs I liked from them and a few other songs which I’m not really familiar with (sorry). Oh and during the ment they attempted to speak in Bahasa Malaysia which was really cute haha. Yeonjung and Dayoung came to my area frequently and they were really cute and very interactive with the fans (they looked like little fairies hahaha) Surprisingly during this one song I can actually hear the backtrack playing which I think wouldn’t be necessary for the girls to lipsync because I know how capable Yeonjung and Dawon is to belt out their high notes  Then Jung Sewoon (Ponyo!) came in after and wow, this guy really gave out that sweetheart, fluffy vibes. Those who watched Produce 101 Season 2 would know how much of a sweetheart he really is and boii, he really is a total sweetheart. During Just U he was also rapping to the rapper’s part which were really cute and hilarious because even the crowd was hyping him XD. I’m actually glad because the crowd were really supportive of regardless whoever was performing on stage. He sang live because I can actually really hear his voice which was really soothing T__T
Tumblr media
Seola looked so pretty and so does the other WJSN members as well TT
And then AOA came on stage next :O When AOA’s video came out, all the fanboys were screaming hahaha rip my ears again. They started off with Bingle Bangle and I couldn’t take my eyes off Seolhyun. She.Is.A.Literally.A.Walking.Goddess. But unfortunately Mina was sick that night (as told by Jimin) so she wasn’t able to attend the event. HyeJeong also caught my attention sobs they were all so pretty in real life! Among the songs they performed were Excuse Me,Mini Skirt, Like A Cat, Bing Bing and Heart Attack. Boyfriend were the next performer after AOA. To be very honest, I was kinda worried of the crowd reaction since I didn’t really see a lot of Boyfriend fans but to my surprise, the crowd were really hyping them so thank goodness! Star was the first song they performed, and it was such a soothing song for me. They also performed I’ll Be There, Witch and ended with I-Yah. I was only a casual fan of them so it was nice bobbing my head to their songs lmao. Oh, and when they were doing their ment the leader said it was such a great opportunity to be able to spend their 7th year with the K-wave crowd. My heart kinda wretched when he said that (Starship why’d you do this they had so much potential T__T), also I didn’t know how to differentiate the twins (Youngmin and Kwangmin) albeit them having different hairstyles kekeke. They were all sweethearts too sigh T_T.
Tumblr media
Eventhough the picture was blurry but Seolhyun really took my attention that night (GURL WAS GLOWING THAT NIGHT)
Tumblr media
I thought that Monsta X were up next but EXID came on stage!!! Too bad Solji were still not in a good condition so there were only four of them on stage, but they still rocked the performance. They performed Lady first and Hyerin came out few seconds late because she was stuck with the curtain opening lmao usually it’s Hani who would be doing all the funny things. I certainly caught Hani laughing midway performing due to Hyerin haha. L.E’s rap was bomb! She was literally oozing girl crush vibes (lovelovelove). Junghwa was really glowing that night and she caught my attention although Hani is my favourite but Hani was being her usual dorky self (hehe) and Hyerin is really pretty if you see her in real life! They were really enjoying performing that night, and they performed Hot Pink, Up and Down, Night Rather Than Day, and DDD.

Then Monsta X came up next! Click here~
And FT Island were the final performer of the night. I was only a casual fan of them so my knowledge on their songs were a bit lacking-but I enjoyed their performance nevertheless. Some of the songs that I liked were Champagne and Pray which they also performed so thumbs up! Hongki’s voice was powerful enough to bring back the energy to the crowd because it was getting late and pretty much everyone was drained out due to excessive yelling and screeching earlier haha. During their ment, Hongki said they were really glad to be able to perform here in Malaysia as from what I was concerned, they were supposed to have a concert here back in 2011 but it was cancelled unfortunately :( And I can’t remember what song they performed but at one time, the background music were playing too loud and even Hongki looked a little uncomfy because we couldn’t really hear Hongki’s voice TT. Then they bid goodbye to the crowd, even said goodnight and to take care because it was getting quite late. I thought that during the ending, all artists would come out together and bid goodbye to the fans together but I guess it’s too late so they decided to just end the show :((( And, then, it was the goodbye that parted all of us.
So, basically I did not regret at all being one of them who got the chance to attend this event because honestly, this event was wayyyy better than my first Kpop event (READ: Wanna One’s Fanmeet in Malaysia) Kudos and thumbs up to the awesome organiser Macpiepro for making the event as smooth as possible :) I hope you enjoyed reading this btw!

hi carlos! hope you're having a swell day, i wanted to ask: what are your current anime recs? ive been looking for sth to watch and i think you have great taste! have a nice day, thanks in advance! :)
Hii!! I’m having a good day thank you! :D And sure, lemme copy and paste my previous list and make some modifications and updates to answer your question!
Currently watching:
Boku no Hero Academia
JoJo’s Bizarre Adventures
One Punch Man
Hunter X Hunter
Recently watched:
Shingeki no Kyojin / Attack on Titan - it’s the Game of Thrones of anime imo.. like it’s so GOOD.. it will just make you gag after every episode. it’s so intense and there are really badass characters. and the plot is really brilliant. like i’m almost finished with season 1 and i’m just shook after every single episode. i watch during my cardio sessions in the gym lmao after every workout.. and its great cause it’s like when a titan is chasing a character, i end up walking faster on the stairs Lmaoo so intense
Love Live! - i honestly just watched this like out of curiosity and just for kicks. i was not expecting to love it but after episode 3, i was like wait??? wasnt this anime supposed to be fun?? why am i crying?? so yeah, it’s super good, touching, entertaining and sweet! and the songs are really catchy and good.. it’s such a WLW anime and there’s a canon couple :>
Love Live! Sunshine - i watched this like a few months after finishing Love Live! cause i loved the OG girls and i was worried i wont like these girls.. but honestly, LLS is EVEN GAYER.. and is soo good too!
btw tell me who your fave girls/best girls are after watching Love Live and Sunshine. my best girls are Umi Sonoda and Yo Watanabe :>
Kimi no Na Wa - universally lauded and recently released! it’s the best film released in 2016 imo. i swear it’s really next level storytelling
Anime watched/finished:
You really have to see this one. the anime bombed in Japan so the english dubbers got all the rights for the anime and they gave the go signal for the dubbers to do whatever the fuck they want. it ended up being like an anime Scary Movie with a hilarious script
3rd season is very painful to watch though and you dont have to watch that one tbh
Ranma ½ - this was so funny but the ending was disappointing cause it got cancelled apparently.. i really hope this will go out of limbo and give us a proper ending like InuYasha did but i doubt it
Danganronpa (murder plot twists, intense and despair-filled storyline. btw i highly suggest you play this game (it’s available on Steam) instead of watching the poorly condensed anime. so buy it on steam or you can download it how you like cause it’s one of the best games ever. and if you plan on watching this, there is no Danganronpa 2 anime so yeah just play the game tbh. but a playthrough/game since the anime is based from the game. murder, plot twists, suspense. click this to know more about the premise. it’s Battle Royale meets CSI. after watching this, here’s a link of the playthrough of the 2nd game. it’s super fun, full of plot twists, and interactive)
More Ghibli films too
Here you go!!!! I know it’s an extensive list. I’ll probably make this a masterpost of anime recs and will update this list, and add more soon. If you have any questions or anything, don’t be shy to message me! :)
