stumbled across a ballad of songbirds and snakes critique video and I couldn't even watch it because the person so did not get what the book was doing and saying and the comments were complaining about the unnecessary romance when it's super obvious it's not intended to be a romance. suzanne collins is, yet again, ahead of her time because I remember the hate mockingjay got when it came out for killing prim and having katniss vote for new hunger games when those plot points are crucial and are meant to act as a commentary

Delicate (Inspired by Taylor Swift)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pairing: Academy!Coryo x Gf!Reader
Summary: Coriolanus commemorates his first public appearance with his girlfriend, Y/N Y/L/N. As Coriolanus feels Y/N’s head on his chest, he realizes how comforting it is to be loved as Y/N shows Coriolanus how safe she feels with him as she falls asleep before him. Coriolanus acknowledges this and he starts thinking of their future. This is the point of no return, the story of the beginning of Coriolanus Snow’s rise to power as the future President of Panem, with his darling future wife and First Lady, Y/N Y/L/N, by his side, being his pillar and supporting him on his journey to power.
Fic Type: Fluff (SFW), a little arguement in the middle though so a lil angst
Warnings: arguments, subtle manipulation in the beginning, lots of kissing, coryo being a lil delulu
Word Count: 1.6k
I do not own Coriolanus Snow or Y/N Y/L/N (cuz it’s you, boo). All credits go to Suzanne Collins and her team. Song credits also go to Taylor Swift and her team.
I do not allow my works to be republished or translated under any circumstances. Any instances of this happening and YOU WILL BE BLOCKEDDD.
Tumblr media
This ain’t for the best
My reputation’s never been worse, so
You must like me for me
“You are just adorable, sweetheart.” Coriolanus said while stroking his girlfriend’s cheek. Of all the words used to describe Coriolanus Snow, sweet or adorable never came to mind. Coriolanus was charming, of course, but he could never be so vulnerable. That would stain his prestige of perfection. However, the same cannot be said for his girlfriend (aka future wife) Y/N Y/L/N. A young woman who walked through the halls of the Academy with the biggest, brightest smile on her face, always respectful in greeting her friends and teachers, the epitome of elegance and grace.
We can’t make
Any promises now, can we, babe?
But you can make me a drink
Snow’s reputation does not perceed him, of course, yet he sometimes wonders… Why did Y/N choose him? Did she see him as a gentleman he never truly was? Did she like his sense of poise and sophistication? Or was she just sorry for him, given the circumstances of his family? Those are questions that are yet to be answered.
Dive bar on the East Side, where you at?
Phone lights up my nightstand in the black
Come here, you can meet me in the back
Their first appearance as boyfriend and girlfriend started during the reaping ceremony of the 10th annual Hunger Games. “Hey Y/N, where’s your boy toy? A little lost perhaps?” Arachne sneered while her goons silently snickered behind her back. “No, and he’s not my boy toy. You’d know all about boy toys, wouldn’t you Arachne? Considering the fact that you’ve successfully fucked more than half the boys in the Academy, attracting STDs left and right.” Y/N clapped back, hearing a male chuckle behind her as Arachne’s face turned furiously red and walked away.
Dark jeans and your Nikes, look at you
Oh damn, never seen that colour blue
Just think of the fun things we could do
Y/N turned back to face her boyfriend, running towards him with a hug so strong, it made him stumble forward. “Hi” Y/N whispered silently while looking at her boyfriend with a lovestruck smile. “Hey” He replied while examining her face with his piercing, blue eyes. They were living in their own world and they were perfectly content on keeping it that way. The pair leaned down to give each other a kiss, looking at each other as if time was just a construct. As they broke apart from their kiss, a familiar sound was voiced around the room and they were about to announce the start of the reaping ceremony.
This ain't for the best
My reputation's never been worse, so
You must like me for me
(Yeah, I want you)
Both Y/N and Coriolanus walked to their respective seats with their hands locked together. Dean Highbottom was giving Coriolanus a deathly stare a few feet away, looking as if he was thinking of something to sabotage him with, then walking away to his seat with an eerily smirk, giving Coriolanus the chills. Coriolanus quickly snapped out of it, looking at Y/N with a small but reassuring smile on his face while giving her a final, deep kiss before the start of the ceremony, making their friends behind them release wolf whistles, leaving the couple with their cheeks pink.
We can't make
Any promises now, can we, babe?
But you can make me a drink
“There has been a change this year,” said Dean Highbottom while looking around the room. “The Plinth prize will no longer depend on whoever has the best grades, rather it will depend on whoever is the best mentor, leading their tribute to victory” Coriolanus looked shocked as Y/N held his hand and rubbed her thumb over his fingers delicately in a reassuring manner. The couple exchanged glances as if to say something, then looking away with a determined expression, eager to support one another along the way.
Is it cool that I said all that?
Is it chill that you're in my head?
'Cause I know that it's delicate (delicate)
“District 8, Girl, belongs to Y/N Y/L/N. District 10, Girl, Arachne Crane” Dean Highbottom droned on with the assignments. Coriolanus looked around the room with an anxious look on his face, eagerly anticipating his assignment. The Plinth prize meant a lot to him, as the prize contained the money he needed to keep supporting his family, to be able to pay the bills, food, everything. Of course, Y/N knows about his condition, having visited his home and becoming great friends with Tigris and conversing with Grandma’am over their mutual love of roses. Coriolanus appreciates his girlfriend’s gestures towards his family, however he is in no position to accept money out of pity. That wouldn’t be a good look for him, and she knew that, so they kept this out of the equation in their relationship. “Oh you’ll like this one, Ms. Crane, the runt girl, District 12, belongs to Coriolanus Snow…” Coriolanus’s face turned from one of anxiousness to hidden rage as he glared at the Dean as if looks could kill. Y/N noticed how tense he was and knowing his situation, she held his hand tighter as she tried to comfort him.
Is it cool that I said all that?
Is it too soon to do this yet?
'Cause I know that it's delicate
As the hall dispersed after the ceremony, Y/N followed Coriolanus outside the Academy as he furiously walked away from the hall. “Wait up, Coryo!” Y/N said, exasperated from following his big steps. Coriolanus’s head whipped towards her as he exclaimed “How could I not, Y/N?! He knew how much that prize meant to me and he still did that! And for what, as a means to take me down, as a way to destroy my future?!” He looked utterly exhausted as he vented his feelings out towards his girlfriend. Y/N didn’t speak, choosing to walk towards him and engulf him in a comforting hug and stroking the back of his neck in a comforting manner. Coriolanus heaved a big sigh and his eyes started to tear up from the pressure he was feeling.
Isn't it, isn't it, isn't it?
Isn't it?
Isn't it, isn't it, isn't it?
Isn't it delicate?
Coriolanus buried his head deep in Y/N’s neck as he wept from his unfortunate chance of winning the only prize he needed to help his family. After a while, his cries subsided as he looked up at Y/N with a grateful smile before leaning and capturing her lips in a mind searing kiss, making Y/N surprised by his actions as she tried to keep up with his ministrations. They stayed like that for a while, basking in each other’s love and kissing each other like the other was their lifeline before they pulled away, breathless.
Sometimes I wonder when you sleep
Are you ever dreaming of me?
That night, Coriolanus and Y/N stayed together in her lavish, pink room as she layed her head on his chest in a comforting manner. Coriolanus looked at his girlfriend, half asleep and as somber as she could ever be in his presence. It brought him great comfort and pride to know that she was comfortable in his embrace and not afraid of him despite his flaws. Coriolanus kissed the top of Y/N’s head softly as he observed her sleeping form. He wonders sometimes… Does Y/N ever dream of him? What would their relationship look like if they were away from all this chaos in the Capitol? What if they found a way to get out of the Hunger Games and lived happily ever after somewhere else, with enough money and a house full of their children? Maybe somewhere on the countryside? No… No.. That would be too far fetched, especially considering his desire to rule Panem and finally take revenge on those rebels who destroyed his home and killed his father in the mines. He would also take revenge on those who wronged him, who thought of him as nothing without his fortune.
Since he was a little kid running around the Snow penthouse, he never imagined he would want a future where he would be even close to a girl and producing heirs, now here he was, thinking what his and Y/N’s children would be like in a place far, far away from all this chaos. Would they inherit his eyes? Maybe have her hair? He doesn’t know, yet he’s excited to discover that with his lovely girlfriend.
Sometimes when I look into your eyes
I pretend your mine all the damn time…
Coriolanus never planned this, falling in love was beyond him and yet, it brought him serenity to know that once he ruled Panem, he would have his darling wife, the First Lady Y/N Y/L/N, by his side, supporting him the whole way. Her undying loyalty serves as one of the biggest motivations for him to win the Hunger Games, to prove Dean Highbottom wrong about his assumptions of the Snows. He would soon grow hungry for it, power… After all, it’s hunger that drives people desperate in this cruel, relentless world. As Coriolanus looked at his girlfriend’s relaxed face, he knew what he had to do to accomplish his dreams. He has to use Lucy Gray as much as she is using him. Use her, get rid of her, and continue on your way to the top of the food chain, with his darling girlfriend by his side, always siding with him and encouraging him on his journey to becoming the future President of Panem.

pls do some Sejanus angst
Bet, I gotchu.
Warnings: Angst, character death, arguments, he should have lived Suzanne Collins, crying
Synopsis: You get into an heated argument with Sejanus. You leave and go back to the covey with your friends, Lucy Grey comes get you for the public execution.
A/N: Yes, I did indeed cry while writing this, especially the ending. Enjoy because I didn't. My heart hurts now.
"Sej, I saw you in the crowd, but-"
I spot my friend Lucy Grey, being pushed behind Coriolanus, while he holds a gun up to Mayfair. I looked at Sejanus slowly making my way over to him.
"What the hell is going on?"
"I don't know, just stand behind me, and be quiet."
I quietly step behind him, shielded from what was happening. I watch as Mayfair walks off and Coriolanus shoots her. My hands clasp my mouth, shocked at what happened. Billy Toupe charges at Coriolanus, before getting shot by Spruce.
"Oh my god, Sejanus, what have you done?"
"I-I never meant for any of this to happen!"
Coriolanus grabs my arm, pulling me next to Lucy Grey.
"Both of you guys have to leave, go back to the stage and sing. Neither one of you were ever here!"
We look at each other, then turn and leave. We exchange awkward glances between each other, never saying anything. Lucy goes back on stage visibly shaking. She introduces the band, then invites us all on stage to help her sing. My eyes find Sejanus, worried about how this happened. He mouths 'I'm sorry,' before I look away. Lucy and I manage to slip away after we finish our last song.
"I need to find him."
"I'm going to head home, I'll see you later."
She sadly smiles at me, walking away. I needed to find him, he had to be okay. Sejanus and Coriolanus hadn't been in district 12 long but, they were making it hard to ever forget they were here. I sat down on the curb, waiting for him to walk outside. After what seems like forever, he walks out with his friends. I start walking toward him, before he stops me. He whispers something to Coriolanus and walks my direction. He takes my hand and pulls me into a empty alley.
I snatch my hand back from him, I push his chest as hard as I can. I look up and meet his pleading eyes.
"What did you do Sej?"
"I was trying to find us a way out. I don't want to kill people, I became a peacekeeper to help people. This wasn't my intentions, not to get more people killed. I just wanted to save you, us."
He wraps his arms around me. I cry softly into his chest, wondering were do we go from here.
"I can't lose you Sej, I love you."
"I know Rose, I'm not going anywhere. I love you too, but we can't stay here, not after today. I'll write my ma, telling her I'm ready to come home. I'm bringing you with me, we are going to the capital."
I smile, kissing him. I don't care where we go as long as I'm with him. I will say it, I'm in love with him. It wasn't supposed to happen, Lucy introduced us. He looked so sweet, so innocent. He asked me that day at the lake, Lucy Grey, Coriolanus, Sejanus and I, along with my friends. 'I like you, so much. I've been mesmerized since Lucy introduced you to me.' 'I like you too, I haven't been able to get you out my mind.' He kissed me, right there.
Lucy Grey looked so happy when we walked out hand in hand. Coriolanus got up and slapped him on his back. That night, we were together, passionately. We slept in the cabin by the river that night. He took me one more time before he kissed me and left. We had just confessed our love for each other a few days ago.
"Coryo is coming with us."
"No, he loves Lucy and she won't leave. He's going to stay."
"Well then, I have to convince her to go."
I pushed him from me, "I thought this was about us?"
"It is, but he has to come with me. He saved my life twice."
"No, he doesn't come with us."
"You don't get an opinion, this is our life we are going back to."
I storm off from him, not wanting to finish that conversation with him. I hear him call out for me to come back, and he's sorry. I keep walking, holding the chain he gave me. I walk all the way home where Lucy Grey is waiting for me.
"Well?"
"He wants to go back to the capital. He wants me to come with him, but he also wants Coriolanus, and you to come as well. I told him you won't leave the covey to go back to the capital. He told me I don't have an opinion, I don't know how I feel about this now."
"Just get some rest, I'll be back in the morning so we can talk about it."
I lay in my bed, not really soft, but enough for me to sleep. I pull my cover over myself, and drift off to sleep, dreaming about the life Sejanus and I could have in the capital. I don't think his family will like me, maybe his ma, but not his pa. Maybe we could have a quiet little wedding, have kids and retire to the country.
'Rose, Rose!' I hear faintly in my dream. I'm shaken awake by Lucy Grey. "Wake up!" I yawn, stretching out my limbs. "What's wrong?" "Nothing, we have a public execution to go to."
Oh god, not this again. I hop out of bed, change clothes and join the covey. We walk in silence as we reach the square. Lucy and I look back at the covey and they usher is to the front. I spot Coriolanus, but no Sejanus. Maybe he was sick and slept in, nothing to be worried about, right? The head peacekeeper keeps talking as I notice a third noose. I elbow Lucy, showing her what I saw.
The crowd shuffles to the side,as my worst nightmare came true. It's Sejanus, he is going to be killed for treason. I scream as he walks past me. He calls my name, fighting to get away.
"Coriolaus, please!"
He never moved, Lucy grabs me but I shake her away.
"WAIT, TAKE ME INSTEAD!"
The peacekeeper smiles, and shakes his head. Coriolanus grabs me but I slip out his grasp. I run to Sejanus, grabbing his face, kissing him one last time before I get pulled away, "I love you, so much." "I love you more, thanks for trying to save me." Lucy pleads with Coriolanus to save him. He sits me next to Lucy and walks back to his assigned spot. I look at him one last time. I'll never see him again. I cry out as I watch the life leave his body.
"NO!"
Lucy takes me back to my house, laying me down. She walked to the door getting ready to leave. I thought she was just going get food or maybe check on the covey.
"Don't leave me please."
She sits next to me as I cry myself to sleep. When I awaken from my slumber, she is gone. I walk to the covey house looking for her, but she is gone. I look for Coriolanus but he is gone as well. I drop to my knees and wail. I had no one, my lover dead, my friend gone, Coriolanus district 2.
The next day, I head to the local doctor, as I had been throwing up and not eating. I am with child, his child. I start crying harder, knowing my love will never get to meet his child, our child.
Our family life gone with his death. Rest in peace, my love, I'll never forget you, our child will know who you are.

the hunger games: the ballad of songbirds and snakes (2023)
rating: stop making war criminals hot/10
*spoilers*
-ok. so. i wasn't going to be one of those people.
-the people that just hop on the "snow is hot" bandwagon.
-but, alas...
-please don't expect any genuine analysis here, there is nothing even remotely close to that present at this time
-anyway. let's start from the top.
-the seventeen semi-unnecessary shirtless/shower/half-naked-sulking scenes they managed to cram in these first three seconds is actually kind of impressive
-i'm not complaining.
-i see all the snow family fortune is funneling directly into the Coriolanus bleach and tone fund
-the only thing running through my mind is book snow's inner monologue
-"district scum" keeps coming to me in flashes
-hop skip and jump to the reaping scene
-peter dinklage will slay no matter the occasion.
-and viola davis
-"i'm part of that litter" PLEASE
-i'm sorry. not a joking matter. sometimes i get too caught up on dialogue choices.
-"sing your way out of this one lucy gray."
-welp.
-omgggg he's so considerate showing up to the train like that
-what a sweet, caring guy
-i was so caught off guard by them literally dumping them into the zoo
-as if that's what should catch me off guard.
-dare i say snow is a bit of a devious betch
-dude has zero friends and is still managing to betray every one
-never trust a blond man, that's what i always say
-a PLATINUM blond at that
-i've lost the plot a bit
-literally
-anyway
-wait let's discuss that rejected kiss. i turned away from the screen tbh. can't handle the embarrassment.
-if i wasn't already missing the entire point of the movie, the "take off your shirt"-single-tear-stitching-up-of-the-wound moment definitely shoved me into the oblivious observer territory
-(i promise i took more from this movie than i'm letting on)
-(really)
-but now let's pop back to the games
-scream queens is preventing me from believing the rat poisoning situation but i'm trying to ignore that
-lucy slay baerd
-eh. sorry.
-HE CHEATED THE GAMES FOR HER
-he was just sending water. HE WAS JUST SENDING WATER. ugh.
-how could this possibly go wrong? he's so sweet and nice 🥰
-see, i think he thinks he's really smart but genuinely how do you use a monogrammed handkerchief to break the law??
-now, i understand he wanted to go to 12 and all, but using his family's literal last dime in this world to pay his way there is rubbing me the wrong way
-could it be? a(nother)? red? flag?
-ok so we're all just gonna pretend that scene of him facing the wall wasn't concerning to feminism.
-buzzcut era for the win
-sejanus and him should just kiss already.
-his utter commitment to being a peacekeeper is so jarring.
-suzanne collins knew what she was doing with these songs
-the punch.
-katniss reference, cute cute
-so sorry--did he LEAVE during the song NAMED after him?????
-oh lucy gray. you are far too good for him.
-so i'm thinking i need to wrap this up
-oops. shot someone there. whoops. got someone else strung up there. mistaaaakes. we all make em.
-"my old self"
-the old snow can't come to the phone right now...
-anyway.
-never in my life have i seen someone pitch a fit like this, get a grip
-hilarious how he just casually strolls back into 12 after that conniption.
-"you look just like your father" as you should, tigris.
-*villainous, brooding stroll across multiple lanes of traffic*
-the rainbow imagery. love.
-the hair timeline is really not working for me here, i feel like we skipped some vital info, but it's fine
-oh that callback was phenomenal booming through the theater
-i don't consider myself that dense, but i did, in fact, have to watch this entire movie and re-listen to "can't catch me now" to realize that's literally the whole movie right there. yikes.
-snow lands on top.
-god i hope so.
-i'm so sorry.

HEAR YE HEAR YE!!!! CHAPTER TWO IS POSTED!!!!
"You've never been to a ball?" Coriolanus asked, his mouth slightly open in astonishment, after the conversation steered that way.
"You forget — I'm only recently noble," said Sejanus with a shy smile.
"I do hope that it changes soon." Coriolanus cocked his head in a way that he hoped looked flirtatious and not overly drunk.
"I don't." Sejanus widened his eyes. "My father would have to find me a dancing master, and I'm afraid I won't be any good."
"It can't be harder than mastering a sword," Coriolanus frowned, nudging Sejanus' shoulder with his own. Then an idea came to his mind. He pounced off the bed and offered his hand to Sejanus who stared at him in confusion. "Go on. I'll be your dancing master."
Sejanus smirked up at him and took his hand. Coriolanus guided them towards the center of the room and placed Sejanus' hand on his waist, taking his other hand and extending it in the air.
"It's rather simple. Follow me," he said. "One, two, three..." He took a step back, but Sejanus stayed still. Coriolanus giggled drunkenly. "I said, follow me."
"Oh." Sejanus frowned and took a step forward.
"Good. Now to the left– your right." Sejanus took a step left. "No!" Coriolanus laughed, lowering his forehead on Sejanus' shoulder. "Your right."
"I told you, I'm not good at this!" Sejanus laughed as well. "I can't even remember directions."
"You just had too much wine," Coriolanus looked up at him. "Here," he said, tugging Sejanus in the correct direction. "I'll just step on your toes until you learn."
"Alright, alright."
As much as he could, Sejanus followed Coriolanus directions. He stumbled and faltered on his legs, but after some time he gained his footing, and Coriolanus was convinced that his clumsiness was brought by the wine and the wine only. Sejanus spun him around the room as they laughed, until he tripped and lost his balance and almost fell on the floor face first.
"I think," he said through the laughter, "I think I've had enough of dancing.
"No," Coriolanus drawled drunkenly. "But you've just started to improve!"
"Excuse me?" Sejanus feigned offence. "I have been an excellent dancer from the start!"
"Keep that delusion," Coriolanus smiled widely, patting Sejanus on the shoulder.
"Scoundrel!"

Hey darling, these questions please
10, 11, 12 from personal asks
18, 19, 20 from the writing asks
Tumblr media
skyeee ! thank you 🥺 you are always so cool and it always makes my day when i see you around 💕
10. last movie you watched?
Five Nights at Freddy's (2023) !!! I have been following the production of that film since January of this year (I love Josh Hutcherson.) It was so dope to see in theaters as a childhood fan of the game and a huge fan of both Matt Lillard and Josh Hutcherson. Also wanted to lick JHutch's face the whole time. That's my girlfriend. Have I mentioned how much I love him?
11. last book you read?
oh girl...uh. not counting Shakespeare it's been...a minute. probably Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins. no I didn't finish it.
12. last show you watched?
criminal minds is my comfort show, unfortunately for everyone, and also unfortunately for everyone i have been needing a lot of comfort this past month. idk if falling asleep to the serial murder show or the silent hill 3 OST is worse. you decide!
18. when do you get most of your ideas and inspiration for writing?
honestly when i'm doing fuck all is the best time for my brain to create things. high fever brought me the idea for revisionist history as it currently is, and having this cold now (one month later) has me co-writing a mad men au 🤠 and finishing a marcus pike oneshot. not getting any scripts done for class but whatever lol
19. describe your editing process
honestly...bad. ok well no. let's go with light. lighter than it should probably be. I edit in chunks as I write, then I'll leave it and specifically go back in to edit. Then I'll make some more tweaks and although I know it isn't perfect, I post and then usually ~the next day-ish I go into the post (on ao3 or Tumblr) and find any typos once again.
20. music, ambient noise, or silence when writing?
music always unless it's a specific scene that I can pull up specific youtube soundscapes for ...like a zombie apocalypse for example *cough*. anyway— the world tipped on its side and subsequent chapters are named after songs/lyrics, music heavily influences what I write and how I write it. with my place on the spectrum, it's really hard to function without music - it's kind of an integral part of my existence at this point. that's why my headphones look like shit 😭
questions!

Why is curse of the warmbloods your favourite tuc novel?
Oh, many reasons! I'm sure I'll have more to add once I finish my re-read, but here's a couple. UNDER THE CUT FOR MAJOR SPOILERS
*Now, we shall see if I feel differently after living through one myself, but a pandemic is such an interesting conflict. To shift the focus of the series from war and man-made violence to natural disaster shifts the entire tone of the series. Suddenly you can't fight your problems with a sword -- all the trained fighters of the Underland are basically helpless at the mercy of nature. HOWEVER, we bring it back around to man-made violence because...
*The big twist is the best in the series, and is very thematically on point. Suzanne Collins really said "well children, sometimes 'good guys' commit war crimes" and she was right to tell us about this at age 10
*The jungle is such an interesting setting. The whole landscape of the Underland changes from dark, stony caverns to dense, humid greenery. We get to see a whole new ecosystem, brand new creatures and new threats. The scene where Boots tries to play with poison dart frogs lives rent free in my mind.
*Speaking of scenes that live rent free in my mind, Gregor bathing Lapblood when she's too tired and griefstricken to go on is one of the most powerful character moments in the entire series.
*Related is also Gregor remembering his dad's advice that "if you wrong somebody in public, you should apologize in public" and him speaking up in front of everybody to say he was wrong to say rats probably didn't care about their own children while Lapblood was GRIEVING HERS aaaah I think about it all the time. Just so many good moments in Warmbloods
*We get to see more about Gregor's family with his mom visiting the Underland, and the stakes become super, SUPER personal to Gregor when both his mom and Ares get sick. In a way, they've always been personal to Gregor since book 1 is about finding his Dad and book 2 is about protecting Boots, but for the first time Gregor is directly searching for an immediate cure without which his loved ones will absolutely die. There is a very clear ticking clock and a very clear line of direct action.
*The introduction of Hazard, who I think is one of the coolest characters. He! talks! to! animals! in their language!! My little linguist child!!

ok so apologies to suzanne collins for what im about to say but I was VERY annoyed by a video I just saw that was like 'I get annoyed when people arc up about Katnis having kids at the end' -
OH. OH REALLY. HERES WHY I WAS ANNOYED ABOUT THIS DECISION SPECIFICALLY
(setting aside all of my other criticisms of the handling of that ending but hey thats rant for another time)
I think that Katnis is, or rather, should have been aroace. Not a particularly strong starting point because admittedly this is a headcannon and obviously wasn't reflected in the author's decisions which is not an issue. That's fine, I just don't like how forced her romances felt and I feel like she would have been better off secure in familial and platonic relationships (rip those dreams). Look, it's ok that she ended up with Peeta. It's fine. It might not be what I would have liked but their romance was mostly handled well (ignoring some convenient times to ignore that consent is a thing... well, the relationship had to be forced for publicity in the games, I get it it's fine, and eventually they do end up actually being relatively cute together and authentically supportive of each other)
HOWEVER. leading on from the forced-ness of the romances, her 'decision' to have kids didn't feel like a decision at all. "It took five, ten, fifteen years for me to agree. But Peeta wanted them so badly". Hm. To me it sounds like the feelings that mattered most in this decision were Peeta's. And look, for it to be in character I'm sure Peeta would have never been anything other than patient, respectful and kind to her, but it just felt poorly handled.
SPEAKING OF CHARACTER. I have seen people saying "oh she only didn't want kids because of the hunger games and the conditions they would grow up in but now that they're over -" NO. FUCKING NO. SHE FUCKING VOTED FOR THERE TO BE ANOTHER FUCKING HUNGER GAMES TO PUNISH THE CAPITOL'S KIDS. UM. WHAT? SO OUT OF CHARACTER WHY WOULD SHE DO THAT. And don't come to me with your 'Oh hurt people hurt people' NO. SHE IS SMART, SHE HAS SEEN WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU STAND BY, SHE KNOWS HOW TO HANDLE PAIN AND KILLING CHILDREN OBVIOUSLY AINT IT.
Anyway, I don't really care if you agree with me or not, you're entitled to your opinion and this was really ranty but I was annoyed, ok? Because sure, it was written a while ago and maybe some of the the relationship dynamics aren't the most modern things in the world, but I'm allowed to be annoyed lol.
Whether you think she should have ended up having kids with Peeta or not, whether you think all the.... *other* decisions made at the end of that book plot-wise were good, I don't mind. But I must say they were disappointingly executed.
Anyway I did actually love the book and most of Suzanne Collins's writing is utterly phenomenal! I love it! But I just had some feelings to get out lol

ALRIGHT BEAN YOU DIDN'T RESTRICT THE BOOK RECS ASK SO HERE YOU GO: 1, 7, 8, 16, 18, 20, 23, 42, 51, 60, 62, 77, 87, 90, 91, 121, 124!! (you can skip any that you don't have an answer for and repeat whatever you want also ahhhh the ask won't let me make a new paragraph but it's @bi-bats)
😈 nyehehehe thank u for all the questions ily @bi-bats. kissing u on the forehead for this
1) a book that is close to your heart: i talk about it a lot but The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan. the first book that ADHD problem child baby bean ever read and felt Seen in 💕
7) a book you did not finish: losing my MIND about Husband Material by Alexis Hall. i WANT to finish it but i legitimately CANNOT get over the fact that the author made one of the characters a vegan for ethical reasons after he had a whole ass Moment about a bacon sandwich and Expectations in the previous book. it is SO stupid that i can't get past this but alas
8) a book you finished in one sitting: Boyfriend Material by Alexis Hall! yes this is the aforementioned previous book to the book in the last question
16) a book you'd recommend to your younger self: i think i would be a cooler person in general if i read more gothic lit in high school. cool is a relative term btw. i'm recommending to my younger self: read more Poe
18) your least favorite book ever: okay so this one is probably a Required Reading in High School bias, but Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe 😩
20) a book that got you out of a reading slump: Game Changer by Rachel Reid
23) a book that is currently on your TBR: The Secret of the Grande Chateau by Dr. Cecil H. H. Mills! this one is @jayzelnut's influence
42) a book that made you want to scream by the time you got to the end: Vicious by V.E. Schwab. look at what you've done to me misha
51) a book that you found underwhelming: ACOTAR
60) a book that you think about at 3am: The Echo Wife by Sarah Gailey
62) a book with a forgettable plot but amazing characters: im being a bit salty here but The Blood of Olympus by Rick Riordan. the characters are wonderful but the plot (and in some ways the writing) of that book was mid, especially for it being the last book of the series
77) a book so useless that you could use it as a coaster: i got legitimate psychic damage from The Change Up by Meghan Quinn. i gave it a shot after i read and loved the Game Changers series by Rachel Reid bc i thought i might be judging sports romances too harshly but i was not.
87) a book with a predictable ending: is picking a romance book cheating? Red White and Royal Blue by Casey McQuinston
90) the longest book you've read: given that the official english translation was split up into five volumes, i'm gonna go with MDZS, aka The Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation, by MXTX. i haven't tallied up how many pages it is but each volume is a decent size so i'm making an assumption that its the longest book i've read
91) the shortest book you've read: if we aren't counting the micro story Warm Up by V.E. Schwab, the shortest book i've read is Galatea by Madeline Miller
121) a book that makes you nostalgic: oh buddy, you guessed it! any of the og Percy Jackson series
124) the book you're currently reading: oh, so many. Chalice of the Gods by Rick Riordan, Last Night at the Telegraph Club by Malinda Lo, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins, Just like Home by Sarah Gailey. AND VICIOUS! I SWEAR I WILL FINISH ANNOTATING IT FOR YOU AAAAAAAAAH

Have you read the hunger games prequel, the ballad of songbirds and snakes?
What's your opinion about it?
What's the most shocking revelation from the novel related to the original trilogy?
What's your favorite character from it?
Do you plan to see the tbosas movie in theaters?
Thank you
@curiousnonny
I have read The ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. BUT! I read it very quickly and back when it first came out and I have not reread it / refreshed my mind on it...so I went back and grabbed a review that I wrote when I had finished the book:
This goes without saying, but Suzanne Collins is an amazing story teller. The way she crafted this book is brilliant! The way this is written has you starting to care for this character and wanting to root for him at times despite the fact that you already know he is a terrible person. I can’t tell you how many times I would be like, “Oh, well I hope…” but then like four paragraphs later I would be reminded just how terrible he is. One of the biggest slaps to the face for me was when Lucy Gray had just won the games and after its announced Snow goes off to celebrate, completely unconcerned for the girl that he “loves”.
I loved the attention that Collins draws to food and the distinction we see between the Capital and the districts. My favorite example of this was during the actual games when he comments about having eaten the same kind of sandwich for breakfast that they were serving for lunch while there were tributes who were literally starving to death in the arena!
THE PARALLELS between Tbosos and THG was great and it allows us to see just how much he hated Katniss as she was a walking trigger for him: her name, her songs, the mockingjay pin, ect.
And the last thing I will comment on for now is Snow’s complete and total selfishness. He never loved Lucy Gray and he was terrible to Sejanus.
Favorite character? I honestly don't remember....
And yes, I am definitely planning on going to see it in theaters...I feel like I need to reread it prior to seeing it though!

There's something I've wanted to get off my chest for a while now. I also know there will be people who will disagree with what I'm gonna say and that's alright.
I've been on Tumblr for a little while now and I've seen it happen on multiple occasions. Bloggers getting harassed because they have different ideas about something.
This involves Self-ship, shipping characters with OC's, pro-shipping, writing dark content, etc.
Harassment is never okay guys! Never ever!
Yes, you may have an opinion about something, but let's not play moral compass because you think it's your responsibility to do so.
When it comes to claiming characters and sending hate to others because you think the character belongs to you. Please just be kind to one another. You're living on a planet with almost 8 billion other people.
Also, 2D is still 2D. We shouldn't forget this. Many of us want to escape life by self-shipping or creating stories around OCs. I do it too! But we still have to keep in mind this isn't real life.
I think it's worrisome to see people sending each other hate over subjects like this.
You write dark content? That's fine!
You Self/OC-ship? That's fine!
You pro-ship? That's fine!
And you know why? Because it's fiction. Don't tell me supporting this means you're a bad person. Again, fiction is fiction.
Dark content
Some people enjoy reading or writing dark content. This doesn't mean they are horrible people.
You need to keep in mind people have their own preferences and this doesn't mean they encourage certain behavior!
Writing about triggering things helps some people cope with trauma. Apart from this many books from popular writers we know write about stuff like this.
Let's take The Hunger Games as an example. We all know that these books involve killing, but does that make Suzanne Collins someone who encourages killing others? Not at all.
So many manga display horrific things. Jojo's Bizarre Adventure displays animal abuse, but does that make Hirohiko Araki an animal abuser? Not at all.
This is where we distinguish fiction from reality.
Writing about minors
This is a sensitive thing under people these days, oh I know. It still doesn't fail to amaze me to this day.
Guys let's be clear about something. Love doesn't know age! Many of you will disagree, I'm aware, but let's talk about shipping 'underage' characters.
What is age? We all age, duh.
Biologically seen a person's brain is fully grown at the age of 25. But why do we say a person is an adult when they turn 18?
This is society's way of drawing the line for things like, getting your driver's license, buying alcohol or cigarettes, etc. Can a person make the right decision at 16, 18, or 25? Well, that's different for every person. Some people are very mature at 16, and some are still not at 25. Keep this in mind while reading the next part.
Shipping a 16-year-old with an 18-year-old? That's a two-year age gap. But just because society labels 18 as the adult age, it's wrong? Age doesn't mean shit when you look at the facts around the development of human bodies. Some people tend to forget that.
Meanwhile, kids get their virginity taken at 12 years old. Those same kids make a problem of shipping 'minors' with a character 2 to 4 years older than them.
The bottom line is, let's not play moral compass. Don't go on TikTok or whatever to gang up on people. It's just wrong.
There are many more things I'd like to say, but I think this is the most important part. Seeing bloggers leave Tumblr because of this is just sad. The extreme toxicity within some fandoms is just alarming, and that's why I'm addressing this.
Just be respectful even if you don't agree. Not everyone has to share the same opinion!

just out of curiosity, why do you hate The Hunger Games? you don't have to explain yourself if you don't want to. i'm just curious.
like i said, it's the absolute pettiest thing i could've named (like there's stuff i dislike MORE but the spirit of the post seemed about pettiness), but in my opinion the hype is grossly exaggerated. i found katniss very mean, for one, and not in a normal way but like...she was mean in a "my fashion designer is better than yours" incredibly petty and sniping at other soon-to-be-murdered-children,
i also thought peeta was creepy and manipulative, like ofc they were monitored the entire time but he didn't even really make an attempt to rope her in on anything he was going to be doing. then the ending of the books has him pressure her into having children when she doesn't want them. so that's nice.
i also found it incredibly odd how the books treated doing things like mining luxury gems to be actually an incredibly cushy career, unlike poor sad katniss in district 12 mining coal. katniss my friend they are realistically not at all better off. like it was just obnoxious
rue's death also felt like fridging to me, like they had to get her out of the narrative in a beautiful way to advance katniss's character without her being much of a character on her own
furthermore katniss is like. she really is truly such a brat and i literally don't mind main characters who aren't meant to be right/good, i love that shit, but the narrative never disagreed with her. she was always right. i'm talking about stuff like her standing in a hospital in district 8 in mockingjay that is so undersupplied they can't even change people's bandages, while she has all this fancy high tech "awesome" gear, and she has the nerve to say SHE'S the one worse off...
oh yeah, and how can i forget, the ending where coin's hair is too sharp i guess so she's worse than president snow and needs to be killed? which is very Interesting as well considering how suzanne collins went on to write a whole book about giving that guy pathos. once again i fully understand protagonists aren't necessarily good people and can even be villains, i just didn't think it was a good execution of that
i haven't read the books in years, but these are the things that i remember offhand the most

All 50 books I read in 2022, why I read them, and if I'd recommend them
Notes:
F = Finnish, i.e. the book was either written in Finnish or was translated into Finnish.
3 titles have been redacted bcos they're uhh self-help type books and I don't want you guys to know what I've needed help with.
Jeanne DuPrau - The City of Ember
I wanted to start the year off with an old favourite. Literally this was my fave book when I was 10 years old, and the one that got me into sci-fi.
Suzanne Collins - The Hunger Games trilogy
I think I saw a tumblr analysis post about these that made me want to re-read the series (and also, I was digging through my old books anyway). I think I liked these more now than I did ten years ago.
Kate DiCamillo - Because of Winn-Dixie
Another one from the pile of Books I Used To Love Many Years Ago. This one still holds up for sure, would recommend and not just to children.
Charlotte McConaghy - Migrations
Someone I follow online (an influencer!) recommended a different book by this author, but I found this one first and figured what the hell. It is a good book. It is a well-written book. But also as I was reading through every bad thing that had ever happened to the main character I kind of wanted to be like "isn't this enough? isn't is possible to write an interesting character without giving them every kind of trauma on the planet?".
redacted, (non-fiction)
A self-help book someone recommended in some Twitter replies, that happened to be on the audiobook service I was subscribed to for a couple of months. The advice in the book was very good but it didn't stick.
Rebekah Taussig - Sitting Pretty (non-fiction)
I don't remember how I came across this (it was also on the audiobook platform) but I'm so so glad I did. I don't just recommend this, I am physically coming to your house and making you read this book.
Alice Oseman - Solitaire
Final audiobook, listened to because I watched Heartstopper and figured I should see what Alice Oseman's works are about. I recommend this, if you don't mind a million Harry Potter references, mainly because I need the plot of this book to happen in the background of Heartstopper season 2 and I want people to understand.
Noora Tuhkanen - Kuuraattori (F)
I got (back) into poetry this year after attending a poetry open mic at my local library, and I decided I should read some poetry in Finnish. This one was alright.
Pauliina Haasjoki - Planeetta (F)
See above re: poetry. This one was actually on the librarian recommendations shelf and I only saw it as I was leaving the library, but the cover caught my attention so I went back for it. Glad I did; this is my favourite Finnish poetry I've read so far. A recommendation.
Jane Austen - Persuasion
I read this one fairly often anyway, but this year it coincided with the release of the trailer for the Netflix adaptation. Now that I'm writing this I'm thinking about The Letter so hard I might have to make this my first re-read of 2023. A definite recommendation.
Emmi Itäranta - Kuunpäivän kirjeet (F)
I bought this one ages ago because I will love and support anything Emmi Itäranta writes, but then I noticed it came out in the UK and I recommended it to a friend and immediately went "oh shit I should probably read it myself" so I read it really quickly and am pleased to say I didn't have to take back the recommendation. The best book Itäranta has written so far, if you're not from Finland please look up The Moonday Letters, this is probably in my top 3 books I've read all year. (Yeah, I recommend this.)
Eila Kaustia - Aikamerkki (F)
Poetry, Finnish, I was over at my grandma's for midsummer and it was on a bookshelf. I remember nothing about it, but I must have enjoyed it.
Jonathan Safran Foer - We Are the Weather (F translation, non-fiction)
I follow people online who are in what might be called the climate circles, heard good things about this one, read it, remember very little of it.
Bethany Clift - Last One at the Party
I've long had a thing for books in the "almost everyone in the world dies" genre (god knows why), but this wasn't it. Not bad, not the worst in the genre, but… could the sole survivor of the virus not have been a more interesting person, at least?
Mary Jean Chan & Andrew McMillan (ed.) - 100 Queer Poems
I feel like the title is explanation enough for why I bought this book. What more do you need to know? It's fuckin fantastic. I keep it on my bedside table and hug it occasionally. Would recommend.
Emily M. Danforth - Plain Bad Heroines
My local library has a section of books in English, and this one was in there with a rainbow flag sticker on the spine. Not sure how I feel about it, I mostly liked it but some parts made me go "uhh what the fuck". The writing itself was really good, though. I recommend it if you don't mind Weird Shit with your lesbian hauntings.
Dave Wolverton - The Rising Force
This one's a Star Wars book. About a young Obi-Wan Kenobi. Target audience: 9-y.o. boys (see: my brother when this book was bought for him) and me.
Mary Oliver - Blue Horses
This was a gift from a dear friend, and I treasure it almost as much as I treasure our friendship (a lot). Would recommend, both reading Mary Oliver and having friends.
Sini Helminen - Hurme (F)
This was one of my NaNoWriMo prep research books. I ventured into my library's YA section for this, to find Finnish fantasy books. I find it hard to rate this, considering it's in a genre I don't tend to read.
Elina Rouhiainen - Muistojenlukija (F)
More NaNoWriMo prep reading. I liked this more than I did Hurme, and wasn't even too distracted reading about the area of Helsinki where I'm from (fuck yeah Vuosaari). But again, it's not this book's fault, but fantasy YA just isn't for me.
Erin Sterling - The Ex Hex
NaNoWriMo prep reading of a different sort, this time a witchy romance. Felt a bit meh.
Ursula K. Le Guin - The Word for World is Forest
I'm a simple man: I see a Le Guin book, I read it. Obviously I would recommend this.
Ann Aguirre - Witch Please
Back to NaNoWriMo prep reading. Here's the thing: I read some questionable books in 2022. This was the worst. You may ask me why I hated it, but only if you want to hear a very long rant.
[redacted] (non-fiction)
A Humble Bundle book.
Charlotte Brontë - Jane Eyre
NaNoWriMo prep reading, again, this time taking the gothic romance approach. It's nicely written, and a classic for a reason, I guess.
Ryan O'Connell - Just By Looking at Him
Actually looked at my Bookbub email for the first time in years and this was in there! I loved Ryan O'Connell's Netflix show, Special, and I loved this book. I don't love what it did to my Google Play Books recommendations because it was marked as erotica. But I do recommend this book.
Remi Carrington - Wrangled by Lilith
Another Bookbub find, this one might even have been free. I saw the words "cowboy romance" and was somewhat disappointed.
Autokoulun oppikirja (F, non-fiction)
So I went to driving school, and this was the textbook I used for the written test. I guess I'd recommend it if you were learning to drive in Finland. The "what not to do" pictures were entertaining, so bonus points for that.
Claudia Burgoa & Grahame Claire - Holiday With You
Bookbub, free, Christmas romance. One of the better romance novels I read this year.
Ellie Cahill - I Temporarily Do
Bookbub, free, fake marriage trope. Also a pretty fun read.
CP Ward - Autumn in Sycamore Park
Bookbub, free, had a fun time with it.
Ashley Poston - The Dead Romantics
Bookbub, cheap, ghost romance. I liked it enough that I think I did recommend it to someone, and certainly enough that I was horrified when I saw it in a bookstore on the "tiktok made me buy it" shelf. I'd say this is my favourite booktok book I read.
Tamsyn Muir - Gideon the Ninth
This book was first marketed to me by a friend whose taste I do not trust (see "The Flatshare" and "Red, White & Royal Blue") as "sword lesbians in space" which obviously piqued my interest. Also, people on the internet who I don't see talking about books have been talking about this series for ages. And finally, I came across it at my local library. You guys were right, this is really good, and yes I would recommend it.
Sophie Ranald - No We Can't Be Friends
Bookbub, cheap (free?). Eh.
Rebecca Crowley - Shine a Light
Bookbub, cheap (free?). A holiday romance, set not at Christmas, but at Hanukkah. Obviously I'm reading it. And unlike many of the romance novels on my list this year: I would genuinely recommend this one if you enjoy the genre.
Emily M. Danforth - The Miseducation of Cameron Post
I guess I did like Danforth's Plain Bad Heroines enough that when I saw this in the YA section of the library I took it home. Not the most exciting book I've ever read, but fine.
Ali Hazelwood - The Love Hypothesis
The first time I saw this on the "tiktok made me buy it" shelf at the bookstore, I was curious as someone whose interests include romance and academia, but who got burned by a book about those a few years back. Then I heard it was originally a Reylo fic, and I knew I had to read it. Bookbub came through for me, I paid a euro, and… well, it's not the worst book I've read all year. I wouldn't recommend it, but I did have fun with it.
Anni Nupponen - Valkoinen kaupunki (F)
Of the books in my library's tiny sci-fi section, this one seemed the most promising out of the ones I hadn't read before, and it turned out to be So Good. The world-building was amazing. Unfortunately most of you will have to take my word for it because this book has not been translated into any other languages, sorry.
Diana Wynne Jones - Howl's Moving Castle (F translation)
The movie adaptation was my comfort watch of 2020, and this book my comfort read of the same year. I don't remember what made me think of it, but I got it out the library once more. Lovely book, what more can I say? Also, the translation is really good - I'm annoying and picky about translations but this one worked. Would therefore recommend both the book and the translation.
Mary Oliver - Swan & A Thousand Mornings (both F translation)
Well. I read these because I adore Mary Oliver (we know this) and I needed lines from poems I liked for a poetry class assignment. I would recommend the poems but not the translations.
Tiina Tuppurainen - Sinä olet perheeni (F)
I heard the author speak at a Pride event and I was curious about this book as a queer Finn. I very much wanted to like this book. I did not.
Ashlyn Kane & Morgan James - Winging It
Another cheap Bookbub find. As someone who has spent a lot of time reading a lot of Check, Please! fanfiction, what was I supposed to do, not read the gay ice hockey romance? I'd recommend it if you would like the experience of reading Check, Please! fanfiction except with different characters, but it doesn't really have much more to offer.
[redacted], non-fiction
Another Humble Bundle book.
Shirley Jackson - The Lottery and Other Stories
I've read and loved two of Shirley Jackson's novels, and I figured I would love her short stories just as much. I almost did. I think I just didn't "get" some of the stories which is really a me problem.
Beth O'Leary - The Flatshare
A pal recommended this, and I read the Finnish translation a couple of years ago, and I read it again because it came up for like 1€ on Bookbub and I remembered thinking it was okay. It's a fun concept, but a fun concept does not a brilliant book make. My 2020 self was right: it was okay.
Connie Willis - Doomsday Book
I bought this in like, 2015 or 2016, when my method for selecting a book was "as long as it's sci-fi written by a woman" (which is something I still do in bookstores). It's set around Christmas, so I have a tradition of reading it around then, going so far as to buy the ebook copy because my physical copy is with my brother. I would absolutely recommend this book, but not without content warnings.
Casey McQuiston - Red, White & Royal Blue
A friend (see above re: The Flatshare) actually recommended this to me back when it came out, so I was curious about it, and another friend read it and said they hated it. This second friend lent it to me with the words "I'd tell you to enjoy, but I don't think we can be friends if you do" and I'm happy to say I wouldn't recommend this book. It's a fun read, but it isn't good.

2: top 5 books of all time:
(in no particular order bc i could never decide lol) here goes: hot milk, deborah levy / the hunger games, suzanne collins / notes of a native son, james baldwin / the song of achilles, madeline miller / good omens -  neil gaiman and terry pratchett
15: recommend and review a book:
Everybody in this room will someday be dead by Emily Austin.
I discovered this book last month and I have never felt more seen or understood like that before. I, orginially, picked it up because the first sentence on the back of the book felt very me, in a funny, my friends would describe me like that way. And, then, the rest of the book was not what I expected. But the trend of 'oh, hey it me,' continued on. It's as if Emily Austin plucked every thought from my head and put it down on a page. Every paragraph made me go 'oh'. Don't let the blurbs of the book fool you; they will tell you it's a 'laugh out loud novel.' Meanwhile, I cried on every goddamn page. The main character is a twenty-something lesbian struggling with anxiety and depression in a way that is not. cute. Her hygiene suffers, her apartment and health fall to the wayside and it is all just. Real. Her depression is honest and painful and so, so relatable it hurts. Don't get me wrong, I can understand why people reviewed the book as funny because it is. It is chock-full of situational comedy and an awareness of the world that begs you to laugh out loud. It is, also, however, traumatically real. We are introduced to the main character, Gilda and from the first page on, Gilda makes you understand and emphasize with her, makes you feel that she gets loneliness. Loneliness, when you're around others, strangers, co-workers, and even loved ones. The kind of loneliness that sits deep in your heart and claws its way into your body, your mind, until you can't do anything but succumb to it. Yes, I make this book sound bleak af, and I think it might not be, not to everyone, but to someone who struggles with the same things she does, it is bleak. The funny parts are there because the writing is wildy creative and witty and earnest but overall this is a book that hits home about depression and anxiety. The actual plot of the book is hilarious in its absurdity, I will admit, but I kept getting drawn back into Gilda's mental state and the way she viewed the world. I love this book, every page of it. It made me feel understood and seen and heard and if I ever needed to point at one piece of art or media to encapsulate what it's like in my brain, I'd point you in the direction of Everybody in this room will be someday be dead. It is a brilliant read. And a painful one.
here's some of my favorite quotes:
"I never know how to answer that question because I don't feel like I am out. I feel like I am in a constant state of coming out, and like I always will be. I have to come out every time I meet someone."
“The fact that I’m able to carry myself through life without being crushed beneath the psychological weight of being alive proves that I’m a con artist. Aren’t we all con artists.”
I have this bizarre feeling like I was a different person at every other stage of my life. I feel so removed from myself then. Sometimes I feel like I was a different person a month ago. A day. Five minutes. Now.”
“I feel so profoundly inside of myself, I can't stand it.”
tldr: It's like the exact opposite of escapism lol, like. welcome to my brain, enjoy your stay kinda vibe. 5/5.
