She can't help but lean against the wall quietly as she watches that big ol' grin of his and the way his shark tail sways to some beat she wasn't in on yet – Certainly the sign of mischief being afoot.

Hands behind her back, she actually manages to sneak over to him unnoticed in the… well whatever it was preoccupying him at the counter. Maka really wants to take a peek now that she can smell something tasty wafting over from him, but alas his fairly decent observational skills finally catches up with him and he turns suddenly, face like a startled cat caught committing crimes (say that five times fast).

And of course, Maka's eye immediately falls to the little something in his hand that he was applying frosting to. "Whatcha makin'," she hums ever so innocently.

A laugh rumbles down all the way to the end of the fin on his back now that he catches on to her here. "I'm makin' sushi," he hums ever so innocently.

"…Sushi?"

"Yes – Here, try one." Hesitantly she takes the little sushi he deposits right in her hand until a smile captures her face, ear to ear, when she instantly recognizes the texture of a still-warm pastry that happens to look just like a bed of rice topped with raw fish. Which she shoves directly into her mouth and immediately falls in love with.

"Ohmyhod Shoul –" He's got his arms crossed like some kind of masterful chef as she's almost dancing in place, quickly switching gears as she fishes her phone from her pajama pants' pocket (say that five times fast). Soul almost stumbles aside as she ushers him out of the way, readying her camera while setting the half-eaten pastry down by its brethren. "I am so taking a photo of this."

"You like sushi now?" he chuckles nervously.

Maka furrows her eyebrows at him funny before hopping up to him and pecking him on the cheek, completely missing the absolute drop of surprise on his face and the very noteworthy shade of red it's turning as she's just fussing with the placement of her generously nibbled sushi into frame. "Of course I love it, it's so clever and cute!"

Always the busybody, she gets the photos framed and snapped lickety-split, already writing a gushing review on her social medias (and tagging him mercilessly to boot) until she finally pulls away when a somewhat distracting knocking drumming nearby grounds her back to this reality, her eyebrows furrowing at Soul's tail wagging so furiously it's slamming the counter and the cheek he's holding is so red she can only assume the worst. "Are you okay- Should I not have tagged you everywhere?!"

"Y-You too!" he eventually sputters out like he coughed something up. Has her staring at him like he just had, too.

"Uhhh… thanks?" At the angle she tilts her head she can perfectly see the way he's now holding completely still is the exact thing he does when he tries not to make any new moves and embarrass himself, causing a corner to lift in her mouth and for her shoulders to straighten while she finishes her last post. "Well, I posted them everywhere regardless, because Soul you've got a talent and the world has got to see it the same way I do – They are just so well done, I think you've finally convinced me to eat sushi," Maka laughs with all the innocence in the world.

Soul, of course, finally remembers just to breathe.
