I was going through an external hard drive and found some old WIPs (ranging between 2017 and 2019) related to my Wakfu and Boku No Hero Academia OCs, fanfics and ships.
Figured I'd toss them all together for old time's sake because while I'm not active in either of these fandoms anymore, I still love my OCs and ships from then.

21 and 15 for the pride ask game!
Okay! I already answered 15 here, but here’s 21!
(From this ask game)
So 21 is a free ramble card so I’m going to tell you about the single most baller queer OC I’ve ever created (she’s honestly probably the most baller OC I’ve created period, but this is a pride ask game so I felt like I should specify).
Meet Marchioness Jacqueline Marie Solange Adelaide Rembrandt:
Tumblr media
Jacqueline is a noblewoman from a country called Victoire. Opinions on whether she’s a perfectly lively noblewoman or a scheming manipulator vary wildly.
Jacqueline is the third daughter of the second son of the Rembrandt family, who went overseas for several years to study. She returned to Victoire to comfort her grieving uncle when his only son, the late Jean-Pierre Valere Leon Rembrandt, died in a tragic airship accident. She and her uncle became very close during this time, and he chose to will his fortune and title to her. Some say she killed her cousin to take his fortune, but most people believe her incapable of this.
Okay, you got me. None of that is true. That’s just what the other nobles think of her.
Jacqueline, in actuality, was born Jean-Pierre Valere Leon Rembrandt and realized as a teenager that she was actually a woman. Her solution to this was to fake her own death, travel overseas, learn alchemy, DIY her own transition, and convince her cousins to help her gaslight the entirety of Victoire into thinking she’d been one of their siblings all along. Her father, who was also in on this, proceeded to will his fortune and title to her, because it was supposed to be hers anyway.
She also picked up a ton of alchemy knowledge and carries around a bunch of rings with magical substances like truth serum in case she needs to defend herself. She can also swordfight, although she doesn’t do it often because that’s not considered proper for noblewomen.
Believe it or not, Jacqueline is actually an antagonist, although I must stress that she’s not a villain and is in fact completely justified. The only reason she ends up being an antagonist is that the protagonists meet her when one protagonist impersonates Jean-Pierre Rembrandt and she logically assumes he’s trying to steal her fortune. He isn’t - he just doesn’t want to admit he’s been lying to his polycule about his origins for the past ten years - but Jacqueline is understandably a little concerned and very pissed off.
Also, again believe it or not, this character is from a fanfiction. I will be genuinely stunned if any of you can guess what fandom she’s supposed to be linked to :)
Anyway I hope you like her, she’s one of my favourite creations. Thanks for the ask, and happy pride!

I'd love to hear more about your story! Especially how Maze Runner and the Inheritance Games helped inspire it but I'd love to hear anything you're willing to share
Hi!
I saw your ask and just brainstormed a few things about it because many things are just "normal" for me now.
I don't know how much you know about my story, so if you got more questions, ask away! (You can find a little summary here)
(and I am willing to share very much, I try to keep this short)
Maze Runner:
The catastrophies are heavily inspired by tmr. The world where my story takes place has had many different catastrophies in the past few years. In tst, Brenda tells Thomas something about why the world is now how it is and a part that stuck with me were the sun storms/solar flares. So I began with that. I added many more things like heavy thunderstorms, hurricanes and even asteroids crashing near Japan and all over Europe, all over the span of three years, causing the USA to build "Safety Zones" (a bit like Denver in tdc but with a huge dome over it), where some people can live, when they can afford it. Like tdc it looks much better on the outside than the inside (but there are no zombie-like people)
I have two other stories, that are inspired by maze runner! Both are very old and on hold right now. One is called "Escape" and is about a girl named Abigail Blair Cleary that is accused of murdering the president's son. Now she flees alone, trying to not get caught, and has to get through a big dessert (like the scorch). But she isn't that long alone, because she rescues two people who follow her without knowing who she is. The other one is called "Forgotten" and evolves around a school, where the kids are pretty much alone, besides a few adults. One group tries to rebel against the adults and go behind the barrier, just to realize that there a hundred small machines that try to kill them.
The Inheritance Games:
The Inheritance Games have a very small impact on this story. It's mostly one personality of a side character that is inspired by her bubbly personality.
Also, one of the main characters (Dean) tries to help everyone. In my first draft, he tried to rescue a boy while the building was falling apart (the boy is well, but Dean needed time to recover after almost being buried alive). It reminds me a bit of Nash
I have another WIP, where the inheritance games is a much bigger influence. The WIP is called "Swords of Friendship" and currently put aside, so I can work on two other projects. Its about two best friends and one of them gets chosen to rescue the world. Two young men, who were trained their whole live to be chosen, are disappointed but then help them, while uncovering a lot of secrets about the "chosen ones"
One last thing I want to share, because I remembered a few hours ago: I have scenes planned, that are inspired by the Disney parks. One scene would have the group sit on a rooftop and watch a firework from a safety zone nearby. One of them would tell them, how safety zones would use compressed air to shoot the fireworks higher and how some zones would use drones for some parts.

Hello, by any chance are you the same Kahuna Burger that wrote ‘not ripe yet’ on fanfiction.net back in the day?
If so I wanted to thank you for writing one of my absolute favorite comfort fics! Almost a decade later and I’m still re-reading it when in a reading slump! You have such a talent with writing, and I’m so happy to see you are still writing!! Thank you again for sharing your stories!
If you aren’t the same author, I’m embarrassed and you can ignore this!
I am, actually! I'm glad you've enjoyed that fic so much, I still have WIP-guilt over it sometimes, but at the same time I'm really proud of what is there.
(I have a horrible case of Single Fandom Fixation, so will sadly probably never truly finish it, but where it ended isn't terrible imo.

I just found an old notebook of mine for a scifi adventure thing I was writing when I was 14 (and consequently abandoned cause it was kinda ass, but we all have those).
I opened it up and the first thing I saw was seventeen consecutive pages of notes on orbital mechanics and math that I had researched; a little diagram and a written reminder of where prograde, retrograde, normal, antinormal, and radial in/out were; calculations for what points of an orbital path could be considered dangerous during a battle and literal pages of notes on how naval strategy might work in space.
And seeing this while knowing damn well that my random-ass pet peeves while writing haven't gotten any better just put a smile on my face.

Some older works of my original character Elise, i’ve been wanting to do more work of her recently and I’ve realised I’ve only really finished one of my drawings of her (the portrait) the other two never got past their WIP stage, even though the one on the bench was meant to be a redo of the first bc I wasn’t happy with it and then I never finished the redraw, redraw of a redraw? 🤔🤔🤔
Anyway i really enjoy Elisabettas concept and the clans she is apart of so I want to start drawing her more and writing about it
(I say that now but I know i’ll get distracted with another hyperfixation lmao)

What's The Mask We Wear
The Masks We Wear is an old WIP I’ll almost certainly never finish. It was a romance between a professional assassin and an entertainer who was renting her a room in her house while she was out assassinating someone. It used masks and costumes as symbolism for hiding parts of yourself (pretty obvious). Essentially A plot: lesbian romance, B plot: assassinations
Rayis (the assassin MC)

Calena (the performer MC):

This is about all I ever did for them and I doubt I’ll ever go back to it but this was it! I hope it’s interesting :)

I had a story once (it’s an old one) which was about a rescue mission for this one character, except one of the guys rescuing him absolutely hated his guts. One of the details I tossed in there was this man’s narration of the guy being rescued slowly going from referring to him only by his job title, to by his last name, to by his first name as he warmed up to him
In writing, epithets ("the taller man"/"the blonde"/etc) are inherently dehumanizing, in that they remove a character's name and identity, and instead focus on this other quality.
Which can be an extremely effective device within narration!
They can work very well for characters whose names the narrator doesn't know yet (especially to differentiate between two or more). How specific the epithet is can signal to the reader how important the character is going to be later on, and whether they should dedicate bandwidth to remembering them for later ("the bearded man" is much less likely to show up again than "the man with the angel tattoo")
They can indicate when characters stop being as an individual and instead embody their Role, like a detective choosing to think of their lover simply as The Thief when arresting them, or a royal character being referred to as The Queen when she's acting on behalf of the state
They can reveal the narrator's biases by repeatedly drawing attention to a particular quality that singles them out in the narrator's mind
But these only work if the epithet used is how the narrator primarily identifies that character. Which is why it's so jarring to see a lot of common epithets in intimate moments-- because it conveys that the main character is primarily thinking of their lover/best friend/etc in terms of their height or age or hair color.
