a while back I had a realization about Chaz's color palette...

One summer afternoon,

The two of you find yourselves in the living room with only your sweet hums and his slow, steady breaths filling the air. Your fingers run through Jason’s hair as he doses off in your lap. He intended to only rest his eyes for a minute but nearly an hour had passed.

“It’s your fault,” he grumbled when he finally came to. A slow smile creeps on his face as he sits up to kiss you.

“You needed the rest. You can go back to sleep. I’ll be here.” You caress his cheek and kiss him back

“Mmh,” he moans into the kiss. “You’re spoiling me.” He laces your fingers together and put his head to yours. “You’re too sweet.”

“Go back to sleep.” You nudge your head gently against his.

He chuckles as he goes for your neck. “And if I don’t want to?” A soft kiss. “Maybe I want to be awake with you.”

“I’ll be here when you wake up. I promise.” You find your way into his hair and gently tug him away from you. “Sleep.”

“Careful,” he murmurs as he settles back down to follow your orders. Once he’s comfortable, you restart your humming and start your fingers to work.

“Too sweet,” he whispers as he drifts off. “I don’t deserve that.”

thinking fondly of that star wars body swap au where 3/4 of the protagonists are experiencing relatively standard body swap shenanigans: bewildering friends and confounding authority figures, learning about each other and themselves, going outside their comfort zones. Meanwhile Cody’s just kindof writhing in eldritch horror inside of Anakin’s force-stitched-together-meatsuit.

Anakin (as Padme): “Man I can’t believe that Senator actually called me sweetheart, I can’t believe how patronizing these men are.”

Cody (as Anakin): [Scratching at his arm] “Yeah, that’s great. Uh, hey, quick question—why does my shadow keep turning into a death head mask?”

Anakin: “Huh? Oh, hey! Would you like at that! I haven’t looked at my shadow in years! It’s—it’s totally normal! I mean except for how it’s Padme—”

Cody: “This is—your shadow just always—does it ever...I mean when you’re around other people”

Anakin: [sucks in his breath through his teeth] “Did it kill someone else’s shadow? I hate when that happens”

Cody: [scratches arm harder, eyelid twitching] “This...happens often? What—why—”

Anakin: “I try not to think about it, ha! Anyway, have you tried smoothies since—[voice fades into high pitched static noise, distant sound of respirator breathing]

Cody: [scratches arm harder] (muttering under his breath): “don’t think about it. don’t think about it.”

Obi-Wan (as Cody): “There you two are—oh Anakin—I mean Cody, you’re bleeding! What happened?”

Cody: “I...misjudged the strength of the mech arm.”

Anakin: [gives thumbs up]

When the rarepair is so good you have to check the tags of the ship and both of the characters at least once a week, search them up everywhere, check the ao3 authors other works after finding a fic with them in it, read all of the authors other works, check the authors bookmarks, read their works, repeat that, then check other fanfic sites for anything about them
