yeah anyway chip mentions something gillion does a lot and it takes gillion a moment to fully realize what he said. chip brings up how gillion sticks his tongue out a bit when he's focused on something really intensely, how his hair floats as if he were always underwater, the way he taps on the hilt of his sword when he's anxious. and gillion is suddenly losing his mind because his entire life he's been percieved as nothing but the champion of the undersea. the hero. the chosen one. suddenly, chip is seeing him as just gill, and it's like chip is giving him back his humanity. like he's silently whispering, you are more than the weapon they forged. you're my friend, that's enough.

Episode 113 got me sobbing dude
like chips still fucking dead, and he’s just found out that price might be the son of captain rose, and then he’s listened to this whole long final message from captain rose that basically tells him that he should stop doing what he’s been doing his whole life. He thought he should find the black rose members and rebuild their legacy but now he’s being told not to by captain rose himself? And this message was left for HIM specifically. Rose cared about him. And Rose had faith that he would try and find them. And it must sting so bad to remember that all the people who cared for you are supposedly gone. And on top of all that, seeing the tentacles right after could not have been good for him in anyway. Give my boy a break 😭

I honestly haven’t looked yet but if anyone so much as hints at the idea that Taylor is “moving backwards” (lol) from her work on FolkMore with Midnights I will be calling their attention to this paragraph of Rolling Stones 100/100 instant classic review:

in Blue Beetle, I love how Jaime Reyes went to Gotham University - there was a moment in the movie when after being chosen by the scarab he was like "this is fine, strange things (superpowers) happen to people all the time" - and I am sure that his time in Gotham prepared him for this bullshit. Khaji Da could have chosen any member of the Reyes family, let's be honest, because they're all pretty fucking cool. But it chose Jaime because he's got first hand experience of the absolute fuckery that is Gotham and so would be one to just roll with the situation. And he absolutely did.
