Reader gets She/Her again~

"And you're sure?" Chance asked you with a perplexed look.

"I saw them! They hesitated!" You protested, struggling against the gambler's grip with tears running over your cheeks.

Nothing you remembered in your past could've prepared you for watching your father actually kill someone. You knew he did it without question, you knew he'd sometimes come home with blood on him and need a bath before you could shower him in affection and stories from what you did with whichever goon stayed behind to watch you.

But you've never seen him actively kill someone...

And when you were the one he got, it felt even worse... Like you've done something to deserve this.

But sometimes... Even he seemed to hesitate when you pleaded with him, telling him you still believed in him even as he killed you.

Somehow... You knew he could hear you... Or at least your fear...

You figured if you just refused to give up, he would remember and win over the Spectre's hold...

"I saw dad too! He had that look again!" You tried to stomp your feet in the air until Chance hid in a building and let you down finally.

You knew he meant well, seeing as you were a bit slower with your shorter legs. Even your bunny speed can't get you so far...

You looked out carefully, watching the goons scramble to find you with an odd look to them... Like they felt guilty...

It honestly broke your heart. Even though they've killed you several times, you still saw them as family and knew you'd forgive them in a heartbeat. It wasn't their fault the Spectre made them turn against you...

You couldn't help but let out soft squeaks. Nothing like the ones you'd show when you let any of the survivors pet you but more with a sad undertone to it. Chance could only pray to his lady luck that the goons wouldn't hear it as you watched them split to look for the gambler and you.

"Kid, I know you can't control your squeaks but is there a way to muffle them at least?" He whispered nervously, trying not to sound upset.

He knew you just wanted your life back. Everyone did.

But they to focus on the present, as did you.

"Sorry..." You muttered, your squeaks quieting down until they were barely heard. You knew Chance felt bad about it though as he proceeded to lead you to a generator and help you with the puzzle so the generator would be done quicker.

By the time you've finished the round and won with Chance as the last two standing, you felt homesick again.

This time though, the survivors tried to trust you a bit more and went to make the table, simply handing you paper and crayons again so you went off to draw like usual until dinner was ready.

You learned the routine by now. Each 'day' has about 6 to 7 rounds before you were all allowed a longer break to have dinner and sleep.

You would get 10 hours to sleep and clean before it all repeated... It exhausted you mentally- wait...

There was a sudden song outside... A whistling you recognized anyday.

You looked to the other survivors and made sure they were distracted with dinner while you quietly snuck out.

"Sorry..." You whispered whilst slipping through the door to find the source of the whistling. A pit practically formed in your stomach and tears prodded through your eyelids as a lump formed in your throat.

It couldn't be a coincidence... It had to be them...

It was the exact melody they would whistle to help you sleep after a nightmare...

Hmm, should the child join the killers, I wonder~?

I need Bat writers and Titans writers to get it together and communicate, please.

I understand the writers have their preferences. Bat writers probably prefer DickBabs while Titans writers prefer DickKory, but I'M BEGGING if one editorial is making one of the couple canon, can't the other one tone down the flirting or implications??😭

I also understand "feeding" the fans, especially DickKory ones since they're not the current couple but can't they use... Like... Elseworlds? Same for DickBabs. If Dick and Barbara were to break up and Dick would start dating Kory again, I'd rather have them in elseworlds instead of flirting or implications in main canon.

Dick Grayson character is already often mistaken as a cheater because of... That annual, shudders.

Why would they make it worse..?🫠

You can give us content for both ships to make everyone happy by giving us flashbacks or elseworlds stuff (Kami Garcia's books are currently the best example. They're so cute in that and it's an elseworld, fans of both ships are getting "fed" and happy), why making it seem like he's cheating or not "committing" (?) to his partner? It feels so disrespectful for all three characters idk.

Can't they talk it out like "if you're writing about the main continuity keep in mind that Dick is dating Babs/Kory so don't write some certain stuff"??

And again I understand they must have their preferences but it can't be that hard to write Dick and Babs or Dick and Kory as close friends? Like, I always say DickKory is good but not my thing: I'd still be able to write them as friends, same for Babs. While I heavily ship her and Dick, I wouldn't have problems in writing them as close friends with funny banters, without having to include romance.

I keep hearing from others that Dick is a cheater because of the annual or him flirting with Kory while dating Babs — probably meaning the Titans Academy thing. And following the timeline, apparently, he and Babs weren't together. But Taylor was indeed writing them with the intentions of getting them together at that time, so why the need of writing that part of the story???

Before being a fan of the ship, I'll always be a Dick Grayson fan first, and I can't blame people for thinking he's a cheater if writers keeps pulling inconsistent stuff😭😭

Or like the recent cover, where they put Dick and Kory but always include Garfield. Like... There's no need to put Garfield to make it platonic. You can just draw them as close but not in a romantic way, and if people want to ship them it's not the artist fault and canonically no one's doing weird stuff.

It didn't even look like a romantic cover, just two friends (and exes who are still close) getting a coffee together. Compared to Dick and Barbara's covers you can feel the difference.

I just wish they were more consistent.

If Dick is dating one girl, don't make him flirt with the other one, it's so bad for the three characters, especially for Dick who's getting the "cheater" flair.

I wouldn't think much of that moment if it wasn't for Dan's face literally giving away that they had had that discussion already and he could not believe Phil was bringing it up again, airing out their dirty laundry like that, lmao

back in the day we were all like "this is phan proof because dan was drawing a cactus earlier!!1" but while i absolutely do think they were telling on themselves i feel like surely the drawing the cactus thing was just also a reference to whichever weird ass argument they'd had earlier. phil asks dan to draw an angry cactus and dan's like ? alright

in my mind dan was obsessing over a cactus earlier that day/week right when phil wanted attention and phil made it his mission to psychologically torture him on the radio. of course it could also just be phil doing that thing both he and dan do where they get hung up on one specific word and it comes up too much, so when he was trying to think of something for dan to draw during a song he was like 'angry cactus' and then later he needed a lol XD random quirky question and cactus came up again, and maybe dan (permanently on edge) just remembered the drawing he just did and was like 'oh no they're gonna run with this for miles' BUT.... the other version is funnier, and honestly also more believable if you look at some of the other instances where dan's had an extreme-lack-of-poker-face reaction on the radio (shoutout lion babe and, above all, avatar in 3d glasses)

> Got a new vest for Christmas (YAY!), planning on customizing it. The vest seems to be one of those fast fashion mimics of the punk "aesthetic", so it came w some premade patches (two easily removed, one is in a "ripped open" hole that I'm gonna make my first major target)

So I've been teasing this character in my tags/posts for a while, and she's finally hereeee. Anyways WHOOPS, another self indulgent Lethal Company character who is basically the Wario version of [Cap'n]!

Meet Echo and her crewmates: Orion (goggle'd circle-shaped one), Spade (short one with big arms), and Guy (shapely GNC one). Being the opposite of Cap'n's crew, they're all men EXCEPT for Echo!

At first, she started out as a grown woman having a one-sided, very pathetic beef with Cap'n, but she evolved into an angry teenager who projects all of her issues onto someone who literally doesn't know she exists (and subsequently does something horrible to herself to rectify this weird beef). Did it work? Well no, come on, look at her, now she's even worse GOKJDFMKDF

And when I say "one-sided", I mean it. Genuinely Cap'n doesn't know who she is, like, at all. I think the first time they meet will be the inevitable werewolf fight between the two of them when things get out of hand.

Anyways I love the kidnapper fox, but alas, she was too swag for this world, RIP to a real one that lasted a month and a half. u_u)!!

Hey. Just wanna say sorry about mass liking your posts but I genuinely enjoys both your art and writings (you wrote Sam’s introspections really well) on Look Outside, especially the Remake AU and the one comic about Sam feeding the rat kid blood. Plus Sam in your art style has the right mix of sharpness and weariness in his features that’s just really nice to see.

(Also the stealing eye move is diabolical, what the hell Sam)

Awh, thank you! It does mean a lot to me to hear things like this, and trust me, I will NEVER complain about mass-liking, hahaha.

I always worry about my Sam, since he is a little more strong-jawed than most accepted depictions, but I do run a very specific headcanon that he had his life together and was pretty fit before depression (and possibly injury relating to his loss of job) did him in.

Also Re: Eye stealing - it's a Filthy Ring skill, so you can technically equip that to anybody. You can even have Joel steal eyes. Or Roaches (which is even funnier). I just equipped it to Sam because it was the first impulse, and I forgot that it was cursed and couldn't be transferred afterwards.

Next time I'll probably give it to Leigh... or maybe Morton, if my dude'll JUST FRIGGIN' SHOW UP.

—Dark Gale tempting you and/or trying to make a deal with you (I saw your dark doodle again the other day and I’m obsessed again)
