watching the sdcc panel and i am just very :) about how sweet their answers to “what are some of the micro moments from the game that have stuck with you the most over the years?” are. taliesin saying what the fuck is up with that which was the first like The Party Gets To Know Each Other moments of c3. travis saying asking his wife if he could kiss her in campaign. marisha going way back to the cannonball competition in campaign one. ashley choosing the beauyasha date but also just the silly goat noise matt made. liam adding onto that to compliment matt roleplaying grass so well and then saying his favourite moment was writing a story for laura and reading it to her as caleb for jester. and then matt saying that was his answer, and that his favourite moments of the game are when they find ways to give gifts to each other whether tangible or not. and sam saying his favourite moments have less to do with the story and is more so when he can just. see his friends across the table from him. when marisha perches and when laura and ashley are (badly) drawing dicks and liam saying he loves when sam sneezes and ashley tells him to stop it and just. yeah. they Are an extremely popular online powerhouse, but i’m so happy that they’re also friends building a world together out of gifts to and love for one another.
like i Am so enamoured with the characters and the world of exandria but the moments when you can feel the love that those people have for each other reach out from behind the stained glass of their performances (to steal a metaphor from brennan lee mulligan) are so extremely special and i am endlessly grateful that they decided to share their silly little home game with the world.

yes i have personal & intimate reasons for my own (lack of) religious/supernatural beliefs, but it's not dishonest to admit: i am also an atheist bc at no point in my life have i, after completing a slightly unpleasant task, been witness to an angel/imp/sprite/devil/entity-of-any-kind manifesting in all their glory to offer me a pat on the head and a little plastic baggy of crackers (by way of encouragement/reward).
call me childish but in my heart of hearts i cannot truly participate in a belief system that tolerates such negligence

I recommend to everyone online to follow at least ONE (1) weirdo. Not a qanon conspiracy flavor weirdo, I'm talking follow furries with specific fixations you've never even heard of (I just saw a post about paranormal investigator bear furries but with no context or explanation and, sure, fuck it, why not), follow artists who use materials you've never heard of before and have barely any aesthetic interest in, follow writers whose work confuses the fuck out of you but makes you pause and think.
And the next part, and this part is VITALLY important... shut the fuck up
DON'T constantly comment "what does this mean", "I don't get it", "explain it to me", "ok but why", etc
Just shut up
There's a time and place for questions and I think it's HEALTHY to have AT LEAST one place where you COMPLETELY STOP YOURSELF from questions.
A place where you sit, stare, and let yourself Not Get It.
One of the biggest problems I run into with people is their entitled expectations to Understand everything, or at least they want to THINK they understand everything (so they're a lot more likely to fall for batshit conspiracy theories because, well, pointing at a Shadowy Group Responsible For Everything is pretty easy to understand). They see something they don't get and they flip out, they want to label it, diagnose it, make panicked laws about it.
You need... NEEEEED... for the sake of your own maturity and mental health... to know when it's okay to sit there in silence and go "hm. I don't get it. Cool."
You need to know how to sit in silence in some one's art and worldview and words and think to yourself "all of this is put together in a reasonable way, but I am not connecting with it"...
GOOD.
You shouldn't HAVE to! You shouldn't be in this world thinking EVERYTHING in it is accessible to you, is understandable to you. You NEED to embrace the idea that SOME things will always evade your understanding. The universe is unfathomably huge and it's absolute NONSENSE to think to yourself that you can fathom everything in it.
Find the harmlessly weird shit to follow IN SILENCE and let yourself not understand. It's good for you.

The game doesn't have a lot of opportunities for characters to be reassuring to Tav (understandable, as they're going through the least of anything, honestly), but luckily I have the power of Draw. Croissant's been going through it (by proxy)!
