Blitzwing’s Vehicon Union AU
TFA x TFP crossover
- Either whenever Blitzwing gets arrested or at the end of S2 (with the whole wonky space bridge and allspark stuff), multiversal shenanigans ensue and Blitzwing gets punted over to the TFP universe
- In TFP universe it takes place sometime before the Insecticons join the Decepticons
- Suffice it to say say, Blitzwing shacks up with the Decepticons initially but is quickly not impressed with Megatron, especially considering the treatment/existence of TFP Vehicons compared to TFA Decepticons
- He gets along with the Vehicons and ends up realizing they’re SO YOUNG, these cons are practically sparklings, who approved using them as canon fodder?
- Clearly the solution is to adopt them all and then have them go on strike
- Megatron will clearly be willing to negotiate if his only soldiers left are his high ranking officers that he can’t use as foot soldiers, right?
- Nah this guy ain’t negotiating
- When Blitzwing initially tries talking to Megatron about how he’s basically put the Vehicons into a caste system Megs does not take it well
- The conversation devolves rapidly and turns into an all out brawl, resulting in Blitzwing getting the closest to killing Megatron in a while and him (Blitzwing) getting not-metaphorically kicked out of the Nemesis
- As all that was going on in the background the ground-alt Vehicons were getting out through a ground bridge and the flight-alts were literally jumping ship
- It’s actually total chaos, Blitzwing never said anything about fighting Megatron, so everyone’s kind of panicking and running around like headless chickens and just really not sure what to do, including a small group that figures this means it’s time to cut and run, raiding medical supplies and energon and whatever they think will be useful as everyone’s distracted with the fight (Blitzwing will be SO proud of them when he learns about it)
- When a partially wrecked Blitzwing is tossed from the ship some flight-alt Vehicons are able to catch up to him and stop him from completely becoming roadkill on Earth, but he’s still in really rough shape (probably still crashed but they helped slow him down or something)
- With the medical supplies they stole the Vehicons are able to patch him up a little bit but he’s ultimately offline (offline vs dead dead is a difference they had discussed so they’re aware he’s still alive) and no one is medically trained enough to bring him back online
- They know the supplies they have are limited so they try to figure out what they’re going to do by channeling their inner Blitzwing, eventually they determine that the whole point of the strike is that there’s more of them than there are higher-ups so they decide to take over a mine
- Because there are so many more Vehicons than current Decepticons they’re able to mostly effectively hold down at least a few energon mines, of course they didn’t want to spread out too thin or lose contact so they’ve set a limit for themselves
- Things are going great (besides Blitzwing being offline and potentially dying if they can’t get him online in time—)
- Cue the first Autobot-Vehicon interaction since they split to go on strike
- Vehicons at the mine being raided are all very unsure of what to do
- The Autobots are confused at not being immediately attacked, meanwhile the Vehicons are trying to figure out if they should negotiate some kind of deal over the energon mines so that they don’t have to fight
- They’re all squabbling like a bunch of kids while the Autobots stand awkwardly to the side and don’t know what to do until one (Steve?) chimes in, “Wait, don’t the Autobots have a medic?” (Flashbacks to steroids Ratchet) Everyone whips around to stare at the Autobots
- They manage to negotiate a deal where the Autobots get use of one of the mines in exchange for having their medic look at one of them
- The Autobots are wary but agree, and want to have them meet up in a secondary location to take a look at the injured Vehicon
- The Vehicons have to explain that, well, actually, this dude’s in a coma and we can’t really move him
- They hash things out and Ratchet agrees to go have a look and see what he can do, even if he can’t do much he can at least teach them how to take better care of a patient in this situation and — oh scrap, all you mentioned was the coma, this guy is super wrecked, no WONDER he had to be put in medical stasis — oh hold up, what is UP with this guy’s internals, this is clearly no ordinary Cybertronian
- So yeah they kind of have to fess up to the whole ‘he’s maybe from another universe’ thing, but at least Ratchet is able to repair enough damage that Blitzwing is able to bring himself online before too long
Yeah I guess that’s mostly it for now. I have more thoughts but for right now they’re mostly unfinished and not chronological. Or organized. And this felt like a natural ending point.

I keep meaning to look this up, but could you please help in pointing me somewhere to start? I'm learning Chinese (on a hobby level, at a snail's pace) and every class, on- or offline I tried so far expects me to just bruteforce learning hanzi one by one. I think you've mentioned it before (or I read it somewhere, can't remember) that there's a logic to how they are built and by knowing the building blocks you can even guess how a new-to-you character might be pronounced. Could you point me somewhere reliable I could learn more about this? Thank you :)
hi fixa! my apologies in advance if this reply is a little disordered, i personally learnt chinese as a child/growing up in china so my experience with learning chinese is very different from those wanting to learn as adults. but hopefully the resources i've provided will at least give you a starting point!
in terms of texts:
for character dictionaries that allow you to look things up via radicals and/or allow you to practice writing, there is adrian van amstel's text "simplified chinese character dictionary", cheng & tsui's "chinese character dictionary", and muhammad wolfgang g. a. schmidt's "the big chinese character dictionary" which all look fairly promising. cheng & tsui and schmidt's texts both have built-in writing portions, where you can practice the characters, while amstel's text is more of a classic dictionary in that you can only look characters up. (there's another text that i would recommend here, but i can't for the life of me remember the title and i don't have the text on hand—it's probably from the 80s, but it also teaches characters through radicals and has some explanation on the history of the evolution of the characters? will add this if/when i remember the title (providing i didn't list it already, but i don't think i have).)
the main drawback to these is that i haven't actually been able to find a copy of the cheng & tsui text online anywhere :/ it is possible to find the schmidt one, though (probably because it was published in '65—which is a drawback because i'm not sure where it would be in terms of simplified characters vs traditional), as well as the amstel text (though the copy i managed to find lists both the traditional and simplified character versions, which might be a bit confusing).
for actually learning how to write chinese characters, without having to pay anything: i cannot recommend TOFU Learn enough. when i was trying to regain competency in writing, this was the app/website i used the most. it's technically a general flashcard resource, but it's designed for learning chinese first—there are specific decks for all the hsk levels, and for radicals (usually the kangxi radicals list, but there are also 100 most common lists, etc).
in terms of other resources:
— the pleco dictionary is invaluable for looking characters up—it also breaks down characters by components, and you can, if you have it downloaded on your phone, draw characters to look them up rather than having to remember the pinyin. it also includes alternate pronunciations of characters when they exist (saved my life in a classical chinese translation project where i was ripping my hair out trying to figure out who the fuck was being talked about because the common pronunciation wasn't yielding shit).
— haven't used it myself, but my good friend @commandersya claims the mandarin blueprint system is incredibly helpful (despite looking scammy as hell); they have a free 30 day trial, as well. they put a lot of emphasis on radicals/character components, though the system they use to memorise characters feels a little baffling and roundabout to me (but howl says it works great, and i trust her because she's actually the one learning it from scratch).
most other resources i can think of off the top of my head are geared more towards getting you ready to speak, so i hope at least some of these are useful!
( @mejomonster might have some further resources as well; i know he's been studying chinese for a while, and would probably be a better source for that sort of thing than i am, since my experience is not really anything like your average foreign chinese language student.)
#13#n#ask#hi mejo i hope you don't mind the tag i was just trying to remember what mutuals i had on this blog who are/have studied chinese#as always take these with a grain of salt the only ones i've ever used myself are pleco and tofu#c.txt

Ok what is sentinel cause I’ve seen it a few times in fic and mentioned on here and I have no idea what it is 😭
sorry this took so long i went a little deeper than i probably needed to lol.
so i went on a research binge before i started reading the fics and this is what is what i've gathered. feel free to add onto this in the rbs because this is just what i've seen in the 911 fandom and on my research binge but here it goes:
a sentinel is someone who has extremely heightened senses. think being able to tell the difference between brands of spice, able to hear the heartbeat of someone in a different room, able to read the small text on the wall across the room. when they learn to control their senses, they typically will envision "dials" that go 0-10, with 4-5 being human range. certain things can cause them to "spike", and if it gets too bad, they'll "zone" which puts them in a catatonic state, leaving them vulnerable. this happens when the dial is at 10.
depending on the au, sentinels can function to varying degrees without help/being bonded (because just being around a guide can help to some degrees). but they're always better off when bonded to a guide.
guides are basically what they're named. they help guide the sentinel in controlling their senses. a lot of times, they're also empaths. this means they can sort of sense the emotions of people, and encourage them to feel certain emotions. they're most sensitive to their bonded sentinel.
one thing i didn't see mentioned in research binges is the terms "online" vs "offline". a sentinel or guide doesn't always know they're a sentinel or guide. for the first part of their life, they're offline. then, usually in times of stress (eddie usually comes online in afghanistan, for example) or danger (i've seen buck come online when eddie was in danger before), their senses hit a switch and suddenly they're able to use their abilities, coming online. usually i've seen it depicted that other sentinels and guides can sense when this happens within a certain radius.
also, there's s&g centers that help train s&g teams (and even solos that haven't bonded) and care for them when they're sick in a way that regular hospitals wouldn't be able to (they have shielded rooms, i'll get to shields in a moment). usually these centers have what's called an alpha team (the reason i thought it was similar to omegaverse), who are kind of the highest level. they're like, really strong.
shields are another thing sentinels and guides use to control their abilities. it's an ability that effectively "shields" them from the intense senses (i'm probably not explaining this properly but hopefully you get it). they can create them themselves, or they can enter a shielded room at the s&g center if it gets too much. i've seen guides shield unbonded sentinels and vice versa (there's one fic in particular where chris comes online as a guide when buck is struck by lightning (i think) and the alpha sentinel creates a shield over him until eddie and buck can watch over him because he's still a teenager)
now. bonding. in most cases, bonds can technically be created by an intense mutual meditation session. however, this is fandom and there's another obvious way to create a bond. sex. though i have seen one fic where buck and eddie were bonded before getting together, and then when they got together and had sex for the first time it kind of made it deeper? it depends on the author.
that's all i can think of for now, i'm probably missing some things, but feel free to add onto this like i said. i'll edit with any major things i missed, as well. this is now my favorite au for buddie because it works so well with them being firefighters

I really don't know how to word this so this will probably be worded awfully but I feel like so many teachers and people are missing one of the big factors why we have so many "unmanageable" kids in school, and to no one's surprise the problem is capitalism. So for context I'm a babysitter, paid and unpaid, it's something I'm quite passionate about and I actively try to take on the role of teacher when I'm with my kids, pushing them to learn useful life skills. These unmanageable kids are real and almost all of the ones I've taken care of have one thing in common, extremely overworked parents. I mean we're talking both parents, full time jobs, pushing 80 plus hours a week. This is not me shitting on teachers at all and I'm aware I have a perspective inside the home that many don't have and teachers are not paid enough for this shit, but the argument that I've heard from so many teachers, that *all* parents are just lazy and throwing their kids at iPads willy-nilly, is just plain wrong (i am acknowledging that there are definitely lazy parent's out there, I have unfortunately seen those too). The rich are as rich as they have ever been and the poor are the poorest they've ever been, so many of these parents don't have the time to invest in their kids' education because if they are not sleeping, they're working. The work vs home life boundary has dissolved so much since 2020 with the mainstream use of remote work and now parents are taking work home with them, they are never not on the clock. Electronics and iPads are being used as a sort of babysitter because a realistically priced babysitter or child care is way too expensive for the average "low-income" household to afford (which is a good majority of the population). It's a $200 one time payment vs $500 monthly. Not only that but the disappearance of third spaces has pushed the kids that were offline, online and I fear it's intentional. The real world has become hostile to those who aren't able to "add" to the economy, the biggest population of these people being kids. This is why child labor laws are being rolled back, this is why we have so many "protect children online" laws trying to go through, the reason they are trying to defund headstart and preschool, and these things only help to further capitalism so no lawmaker is going to try and fix it. The parents don't need judgement. They need community but if everyone is working 60-80+ hours a week, who is going to be that community? The real solution is going to be community, everything else like changing our teaching methods and supplemental work are just bandaid fixes. I think the final nail in the coffin is the older kids just have no hope for the future and they have the "what's the point?" Mentality because they know the world isn't made for them. They are watching as each generation gets increasingly fucked over and know that they're next, what's the point of learning if you don't reap the reward of learning? It hurts to talk to these kids, they need hope and support but to be frank, there is none. Their parents don't even have hope or support. Chances are teachers are the adults they get to see the most of in their life and teachers are being forced to take on a pseudo parent role because of that. Once again, the whole system is jacked and needs to be scrapped and fuck capitalism.
TLDR: Kids are feral because their parents are so overworked and poor. Parents are choosing to throw them at what they think is a reasonable solution to keep their kids occupied because they have no community, iPads. The big issue again is capitalism, not *entirely* bad or lazy parenting, though those do exist too. In addition, these kids know what the world looks like and that they are at a complete disadvantage and have just given up.

Mental health is something we all need to prioritize, but when it comes to seeking help, the decision of whether to see a psychologist or psychiatrist can be confusing. 🤔 Both professionals play crucial roles in supporting your mental well-being, but they have different approaches and expertise. Here's everything you need to know about the Difference Between Psychologist and Psychiatrist and how to choose the right one for your needs.
Psychologist vs Psychiatrist: What’s the Key Difference?
The main difference between a Psychologist and Psychiatrist lies in their training and approach to treatment.
Psychologists are experts in behavioral science and specialize in talk therapy, helping individuals work through emotional, mental, and behavioral challenges. They often use therapies like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and others to guide clients toward healing. 🧑⚕️
Psychiatrists, on the other hand, are medical doctors who have specialized in mental health. They can diagnose mental disorders, prescribe medications, and offer a combination of therapy and medication for severe conditions like bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and major depression. 💊
When Should You See a Psychologist?
If you're facing more emotional or psychological issues that don't require medication, a psychologist might be the right choice. You might want to see a psychologist if you're dealing with:
Anxiety, chronic stress, or feelings of overwhelm 😟
Emotional trauma or grief 😔
Low self-esteem, anger, or relationship problems 💔
Phobias, eating disorders, or other emotional struggles 🌱
Psychologists use talk therapy to help individuals process their feelings and develop healthier thought patterns.
When Should You Consult a Psychiatrist?
If your mental health condition is more severe or has been affecting your daily life, it’s time to see a psychiatrist. You should consider a psychiatrist if you're experiencing:
Severe depression or bipolar disorder 😞
Panic attacks, hallucinations, or suicidal thoughts 😔
Obsessive-compulsive behaviors (OCD) or addiction 🌀
Conditions that need medication alongside therapy 💊
Psychiatrists take a holistic approach, often combining medication with therapy to help individuals manage their condition and improve their quality of life.

thought I might add a little to a question unanswered by the video essay: the why?
not as an excuse, not a full explanation either because there's still the matter of the Telos money.
but why does a man live, breath and eat for his channel/career without the passion for researching and learning?
I can tell you that he truly *did* devote his entire time and energy to producing videos and engaging with the commentariat as a full time job, though if the video scripts were copy paste. He probably feels like he's devoted his entire soul for years into this project and the copy paste was "just" to keep up with the youtube once a week upload demands.
IMHO, what we have is a bloke with crippling anxiety, loneliness and body dysmorphia with a pathological fear of rejection who attempted to build an online queer community that wouldn't ever let him down. As far i can can tell he barely left the house, didn't date and i started to wonder if he really had moved when he wasn't visiting any of Toronto's very gay friendly places or even some of the museums and libraries, wasn't making any local connexions even when people reached out. Instead, he spent his weekends chatting online (often on livestream) about gay media, business, youtube and film making.
I think he could have built that safe haven if he'd kept the day job, produced a fully credited video once a month which was in the format of let's watch this documentary, let's read this book, let's dive into a topic and read the various articles followed by his livestream chats. There is clearly an audience eager for it.
and that's where it gets uncomfortable, right? the lines blur between shyness + not wanting to be hurt vs not collaborating and not being part of other established groups. Canada not only has multiple gay filmmaking scenes, advocacy groups and even a whole bunch of Canadian queer youtubers. They don't have to all get along, because there's more than just the Canada based breadtube, there are a lot of smaller channels that'd love the opportunity to network.
Anyway, it was during a live that i bought up some local Canadian networking opportunity, he backed off quite hard in a way that felt like a little bit more than anxiety about the fierce competition that goes on for such stuff. It felt vaguely like Little Britain's "The Only Gay in the Village" but mostly I was reminded of folks in my life who decided to forge their own paths in charity work and activism, specifically the very dodgy intersection between missionary work and charity and charities that are about the joy of bringing fish to the hungry instead of helping the locals who know how to fish get the new motor for their boat. It's actually a really complex and nuanced conversation where sometimes the least colonialist choice is to hold your nose and work with the local catholic church - yeah I know, that level of complicated, here's some reading before I start on the importance of translating books to creoles being a better investment than teaching english to match an english curriculum and how relief work is often predatory business opportunities and how secularism is a tightrope balancing act and don't get me started.
It is possible to walk and chew gum and listen to music at the same time. We can talk about how plagiarism is bad, how the algorithm rewards it, how this guy is probably getting more ire than the right wing grifters also brought up, why left tube maybe feels a lil intimidating, why people build their own little digital or offline communes, how being an educator and being a thought leader get smooshed together in an attention economy that wants to create influencers with a parasocial engagement with folks that want personal guidance, sometimes stolen valour/plagiarism/fake cancer is for power and clout and sometimes it's a maladaptive response to a desperate loneliness I hope I never fully comprehend.

Online vs. Offline Chess Coaching: Which One is Better for You?

When it comes to learning chess, one of the most frequently asked questions by parents, students, and even seasoned players is: “Which is better-online or offline chess coaching?” With so many options available today, deciding between online vs. offline chess coaching can be a little overwhelming. Each format has its pros and cons, and the best choice depends on your learning style, goals, and schedule.
As someone who’s spent years in the chess training ecosystem, FIDE Instructor Dhanesh Shrikhande has guided hundreds of students through both online chess training vs. offline chess training models. His deep understanding of the game’s teaching methodologies has helped countless students choose the best chess coaching method tailored to their personal needs.
So, let’s dig deep and explore this comparison-online vs. offline chess coaching-and help you find out what works best for you or your child.
Understanding the Landscape: Online vs. Offline Chess Coaching
The chess coaching space has evolved dramatically over the past decade. Gone are the days when learning chess only meant attending a class at a local club or academy. With digital learning booming, online chess coaching platforms comparison has become a hot topic for many learners.
But what do these two modes of learning truly offer?
1. Online Chess Coaching
Online chess training vs. offline chess training has become a popular discussion, especially after the pandemic when digital learning became a necessity. Now, online chess classes for kids, teenagers, and adults are easily accessible, affordable, and flexible.
2. Offline Chess Coaching
Traditional chess coaching vs. digital chess learning still holds a special place in the hearts of many students. The face-to-face connection, physical presence, and classroom environment are irreplaceable for some learners. Let’s explore both in detail.
Benefits of Online Chess Coaching
There’s no denying that online chess coaching has changed the way people learn the game. Here are the major benefits of online chess coaching that students and parents appreciate:
1. Flexibility & Convenience
Online classes can be attended from anywhere-be it your living room or even while traveling. This flexibility is a huge advantage, especially for students with busy school schedules.
2. Access to Global Coaches
With online learning, geography is no barrier. You can connect with top-rated coaches like FIDE Instructor Dhanesh Shrikhande from anywhere in the world.
3. Affordable Learning
Many online chess coaching platforms offer customized packages and pricing models, making it a cost-effective learning method.
4. Recorded Lessons & Resources
Missed a session? Not a problem. Most interactive chess lessons online are recorded and accessible later, so learners can revise anytime.
5. Technology-Enhanced Learning
With tools like digital boards, screen sharing, interactive puzzles, and game analysis software, chess improvement strategies for students have become more effective than ever in the digital format.
Advantages of Offline Chess Coaching
While digital learning has taken center stage, advantages of offline chess coaching remain relevant and compelling.
1. In-Person Guidance
Face-to-face chess coaching vs. virtual coaching often favors in-person interaction for its emotional engagement and instant feedback.
2. Physical Environment
Being in a classroom with other students fosters a sense of competition, camaraderie, and discipline.
3. Non-Verbal Learning Cues
Eye contact, gestures, posture-these subtle communication cues enhance learning in traditional chess coaching vs. digital chess learning.
4. Personalized Attention
Some argue that the physical presence of a coach enables more personalized and intuitive guidance, especially for younger learners.
5. Tournaments & Practice Matches
Offline coaching often includes local matches, practice games, and real-time tournament experiences that boost confidence and practical application.

Navigating the Online LOA Community:
I’ve been studying the law for around 3 years now, and I’ve learned to navigate the nonsense and drama that pops up every now and then, but for my new learners who may fall into the mess or feel more comfortable at the moment learning through socials such as twitter or tumblr, here are some tips:
do not involve yourself in frivolous things like drama in the community.
It is ridiculous. do not interact, you are god and you have better things to do, it is nothing but a distraction, don’t get swept up in bs, manifest your dream life. wasting your time on things like choosing sides, trying to disprove people’s success, argue your understanding vs. another persons understanding of the law (even though the way both of you are doing it, despite differences, is working for both of you because you BELIEVE IT, which is the law..), and other things of the sort is so embarrassing, truly.
do not put any blog on a pedestal.
I don’t not care who it is, not even me. No one should be placed higher than you in YOUR reality. Learning from someone and appreciating their perspective on the law that helps you understand and form your own routine in manifesting is great, but becoming a fan to the point where you are no longer considering yourself, making affirmations like “I manifest like jujuonthatvoid32’s blog” is taking it far. You will never manifest like them, you can only manifest like you. Stop giving your power away. And for the love of god, do not give anyone money to manifest for you. They are not god in your reality, you are, act like it.
set boundaries.
I personally will mute, block, unfollow, or completely ignore the drama. Choosing sides, doxing people, arguing in comment sections and through subtweets is childish and unnecessary. I understand everyone loves a good gossip sesh every now and then but keep it offline, it’s annoying. In part I can understand someone trying to fight for the truth or defend themselves, but with this newfound power, why do you feel the need to? It is mind numbingly ignorant some of the drama that comes out of this community.
check your disbelief at the door.
If you are not ready to be challenged on everything you have ever known to be true, If you are not open to learning, if you have come to this community just to disprove and catch everyone in a hoax, there is no reason for you to be here. You are wasting your time, and bothering the wrong people. What you need to do is focus on your own success and stop being obsessed with others. Focus on yourself and for the love of god do not get on here with another exposé of yet another blog you can “prove” is lying about their success. We quite literally don’t care, and for those that do entertain that, I genuinely question if you are here to learn or if you are here for drama. Create a tea page, your own tag, and stay over there.
There are new people joining this community every day and I honestly think their introduction to this community being that is such a waste.
focus on source, put your phone down.
At the end of the day, drama will ensue in any community, unfortunately ridiculous popularity contests, silly and redundant exposés, ridiculous and baseless arguments about what and who to believe and trust will be around. However, remember to go to source. Read Neville Goddard, practice and apply, tune out the nonsense and remember who you are and what your power is. None of that matters, just you and your reality. Learn how it works, learn how YOU manifest, this is all available to you. I recommend starting with feeling is the secret, but you can start anywhere because this is YOUR journey.
There is no wrong way to manifest and there is no inherently right way to manifest, you have been doing it all your life. It is all based on you. Stop being distracted, stop becoming obsessed with others, and focus on you.
(tough) luv, che.

Don’t want to give this more attention and most people here won’t know or care about what I’m talking about but I just want my thoughts out there
The whole thing with Atsu is extremely disappointing, I don’t think I’ve read enough viewpoints to really get the whole picture, but it’s clear many people have been deeply hurt (fuck tectone though I hate him)
I honestly don’t know what to trust, so I’m just going to separate myself from the creators involved that I was following (Tuonto and Dish and possibly Zy0x and Ant) entirely. I only sort of watched Atsu before everything went down, but the other four I have followed and watched and have been a big part of my experience in the Genshin community and fandom. It’s really sad to leave these creators that I really enjoyed and cared about, but it’s just the simplest way to deal with it all. I’m glad there are still other creators in the Genshin space I can stay connected to (Xlice, Tsikyo, JavaTheCup, MistahFeet, and Agro). I know people are different online vs offline but it still sucks when people you really believed in turn out to have a different character than you thought.
Anyway, I hope that everyone is able to learn and heal and grow so the Genshin space can be a better place again 💜

Oh shit yeah huh... do you think part of the reason why so many teens are anti fiction is because of the mandatory reading in schools so when they get on the internet they don't know how to exercise the choice they now have.
ALSO please check out "does the dog die" for mandatory readings as it has an extensive list of trigger warns and I hope it will help take the edge of atleast!
so like preface that we're on the end of a 4?5? day migraine and not the best with words right now. also pretty much any time you is used it's the general you
honestly we think the whole "force kids to read triggering material with no support or warning" is probably the cause of a ton of media related issues not just people* not understanding that the can disengage with triggering material, or that reading things can trigger you and that's completely independent of morality on anyone's part**
like the whole "you need to keep engaging with current events even if your triggered and/or burnt out" is basically what many people where taught for years directly and indirectly in school and by many authority figures.
kids and teens are constantly told their boundaries around media don't matter and that those bounderies can be violated for education. thus a shit ton of people thinking that the proper way to educate on current issues being expose yourself constantly even if you are triggered is a pretty natural consequence.
this also ties into the whole "people can't do media analysis" yeah no shit. if you are spending most of your time and energy dealing with the effects of being triggered by the thing you are supposed to analyze, you probably aren't actually learning much about the media or how to analyze it, that's what happens when you're triggered repeatedly
and yeah no shit you're going to think analysis is bullshit if your experience is "the thing i was forced to trigger myself into breakdowns to do" because that's fucking bullshit and a disgustingly normalized experience.
basically i think the lack of choice, respect for the bounderies and triggers of kids/teens, and the normalization of what's basically emotional abuse under the guise of education has fucked shit up
also does the dog die is great, i think we actually made a post about it a while ago thanks for reminding us of it
for books specifically we hightly recommend storygraph***. its a book tracking app that has an extensive inbuilt trigger list that users can add with reviews and there are a ton of books from bestsellers to indie and self published on there.
if you want to start reading but worry about triggers its a great resource.
and since this is long enough already, tangents/context notes are under the read more
*in our experience this effects people of all ages, and despite the idea of teens being particularly pro-censorship our experience is that its more a case of specific fandoms just having more young people in general and thus more young people who are pro-censorship (and those people being extremely loud and aggressive in general) driving/drowning out others; and the fact that a lot of pro-censorship groups online vs. offline are pretty different demographics wise and having issues with one doesn't guarantee experience with the other
**often people are taught that not being able to handle certain topics is basically a moral failing or willpower issue of their part, which is not true. this can lead to thinking that the moral failing actually came from the topic that hurt them, also not true.
the real problem was being forced to engage with it to the detriment of health under the threat of varies penalties, but that is a huge complex problem which isn't as easy to grasp or readily apparently
*** we really recommend it if you are a reader or looking for information on books in general not just triggers. its much better then goodreads imo and as a bonus you can actually filter out certain warnings from being shown in recommendations.

Here’s my epic autism moment- my pizza tower and PvZ ocs!!
Why is a plants vs zombies zombie oc trans? Because I said so, that’s why lmao. If a plant can go by they/them, surely a zombie can use pronouns. Idk lol
Anyways here’s the description of both of them-
Alice/August (he/him for both)-
They are my self-insert, with August being an alter-ego/transformed version of Alice (not actually my deadname.) I designed them with a noise/noisette kinda style. August is extroverted and courageous, while Alice is introverted and cowardly. When Alice feels confident and happy enough, they transform/switch into August. People think they are completely different people, but they at least share the same body. They’re kind of a representation of my online and offline self. Alice is usually called a “she”, but he’s a he. He doesn’t tell anyone what he goes by, and avoids the question whenever possible.
Nico (he/him)-
Nico is a zombie that is generally very intelligent compared to the others, but he is much less tough. He has a bit of a “zombie” accent, but tries to get speech therapy to get rid of the voice. He is the son of Dr. Edgar Zomboss, possibly explaining his above-average intelligence; it’s unknown if he has any siblings. Zomboss refuses to call him his son, referring to him as a “she” and by his deadname “Nicole”. Nico does not eat brains, but will occasionally eat pork brains as a sort of treat. He’s on the plants/humans side, and wants to defeat his father. He has an advantage, as he learned a lot about his father before he left his household so he knows a lot of his plans. Plants know not to attack him, as he’s pretty visually distinct.
[Start ID: First image is of my Pizza Tower oc, Alice/August. They have blonde hair, blue eyes, and wear glasses. August is who Alice tranforms into when he feels confident/happy enough. Alice wears a white shirt, blue jeans, and has his blond hair in a bob. August wears a teal cape, a binder, and cargo pants and has his blond hair short in a middle part. The second image is my plants vs zombies oc, Nico. He looks like a typical pvz zombie, except his pupils are slightly larger. He wears headphones, has brown hair, wears a white shirt with a binder underneath, wears cargo pants, and has a trans pride pin. /End ID]
