 The lunch bell rang, and students poured out of their classrooms to head to the cafeteria, loud chatter filling the hallways. You weaved through the crowd as swiftly as you could, heading into the opposite direction from everyone else.

 You were headed to the library, and while you would have loved to have lunch with your friends, right now you couldn't stand to be with them—or anyone else for that matter.

They were up to their usual antics, teasing you with Venti, one of the more popular kids who unfortunately gained an interest in you. He has been quite vocal about his attraction. It confused you greatly when he first started paying more attention to you but it quickly turned into annoyance, with him constantly pestering you with his babbling and hanging off of you like a leech.

 He’s captivated your entire class: your friends were his friends, and it seems that the same goes for every person he meets. Even the faculty! They’re all amused by his antics in trying to woo you, encouraging his shenanigans. (You can still hear the loud cheering and whistling from your class from when he asked you if you wanted to have lunch with him today, his treat!)

Everyone seems to see his charms… except for you.

You hear familiar footsteps clicking alongside your own, the sound growing louder as you briskly walk down empty hallways that lead up to the library.

 You abruptly stop walking, and you can hear his shoes skidding to a stop behind you.

An hour. An hour of peace, an hour away from him and everyone else is all I ask for. Is he really that desperate for my attention that he can’t leave me alone for one hour?  

 “Why do you keep following me around? I told you I didn’t want to have lunch with you didn’t I? Are you deaf?”

”But, Windblume, I just wanted to— “

”FINE!”

 “...huh?”

 “FINE, YEAH, OKAY, SURE! THERE. THAT’S WHAT YOU WANTED TO HEAR ISN’T IT? I’M YOURS NOW. YOUR PARTNER. NOW WILL YOU SHUT UP?”

 “...”

“So? What? Nothing to say?”

 “.…I don’t want you to say yes to me if you’re just forcing yourself to say that.”

”…What?”

”Windblume… do you really hate me that much? Can you really not stand my presence? Does seeing my face everyday disgust you that much, just as you say it does?”

 It’s your turn to be silent.

 That’s... not true, your mind immediately supplies. You don't hate his presence, per se.... Admittedly, there have been more times than you can count on your fingers where you can say that you don't find his company annoying. In fact, he's rather fun to be around. You acknowledge the nice things people said about his personality, because it's true.

 You’ve asked yourself the same questions too, why do you hate the idea of becoming his partner so much? Is it the attention? The teasing from every single person you know of in this place? The jealous glares of his own fan club, muttering profanities about you under their breath?

 Is it all worth it? To say no to him to avoid what others will say, think, and do when it comes to both of you? Can you really handle hurting someone who’s shown that he truly cares for you, clear as day?

 But before you can respond to him, you look up and find an empty hallway.

 He doesn't come to school the next day.

 Or the day after that.

 Nor the day after that, too.

 He didn't show up for a week.

 You told yourself you were going to apologize and be honest with him after that day, but how can you even talk to him if he's not even there?

 You're worried, and with his loud presence missing from the room, you constantly feel eyes on you again. Nothing new, but this time it feels more distressing, probing. Everyone likely knows that something happened between you both and given your past responses... you're sure they know.

 Now a villain in their eyes, perhaps.

 It's uncomfortable, but you couldn’t care less. Your mind is still on him, his words and your own echoing in that empty hallway.

 When he comes back after more than a week's absence, everyone gathers around him, various concerns and questions thrown at him about his well-being.

 He's trying his best to seem fine and act as usual but you know it's a lie. (When did you start reading him so well?)

 He used the crowds as walls keeping you from having a quiet moment with him. When he doesn't have them with him, he simply vanishes, out of sight.

 Finally, after multiple failed attempts, you catch up to him after classes, and grab hold of his wrist to keep him from leaving.

 "Venti, wait!"

 "A-ah... W-[Name]...! Hi, haha..."

 He called you by your name. Not Windblume.

 "Venti... please.... I'm sorry. I didn't mean to yell at you and say such mean things—"

 "No, no. I should be the one apologizing. I've been so pushy this entire time, haven't I? Constantly following you around, all the teasing... You don't like the attention and noise but I forced my feelings and reputation onto you. It's my fault, not yours. So I understand. Why you're always so  irritated and why you said that. I don't know how else to make it up to you, I'll do whatever you want if you have an idea, but I'll stay away from you from now on—"

 "Don't go."

 "...What?"

 "Don't go. You wanna know how you can make it up to me? Stay here."

 "Wait what, I don't get—"

 "You shouldn't even have to make it up to me... I'm the one at fault—no, don't you dare refute that. I made you upset enough that you couldn't show up to class for a week. I've been an ass, both for yelling at you and for not being honest."

 "I did find you annoying. I hate large crowds and loud noises and you always had those with you. You're loud enough on your own but with everyone else in the mix… it really was annoying. I avoided you because I just couldn't be bothered by the mess and the racket because I had better things to do than to get caught up in he middle of your crowd."

 "And it got worse when you started to take interest in me. Your attention constantly on me, every single day. Where you look, the crowd looks too. I couldn’t handle the attention, like you can. I hated it."

 He winces.

 "But I don't hate you."

 Surprised, his eyes meet yours, small glimmers of hope reflected in his gaze.

 "Their constant chattering was nothing but noise to me. But when I started listening in, I realized, what they say about you is true. Who wouldn't want to surround themselves with such a wonderful soul? You deserve all the attention and praise you get."

 "The more time I spent with you, I saw nothing but sunshine in your smile and laugh. You find me, even in places no one else knows. And I felt at ease when you sit by my side and hum as you strum your guitar. In quiet moments like that, it felt like you knew me better than anyone else ever did."

 "Somewhere along the way, I found myself content in your company. Sure, you were still pretty annoying. Their chaos and yours can be irritating, but you were there and I could never find it in me to really push you away."

He's silent for a moment before he lifts his gaze from your intertwined hands to look back at you.

 "To be honest with you Windblume... I never really wanted to leave in the first place."

 You snicker, "I know," and he follows, laughter echoing in the empty hallway.

 A loud voice disturbs the quiet murmurs of the room. It's early next morning, so people taking quick naps on their desks grumbled from the disturbance.

 Venti lets out a small apology, setting down his bag in his seat, before taking your hand, dragging you out the door and down the halls.

 "Venti! Where are we going?"

 He doesn't answer, instead leading you through twists and turns of various paths and halls.

 You get out of the building and find yourself led into a quiet area, near one of the school's many gardens.

 You find his guitar case leaning by a tree, and a bag of bright red apples next to it.

 He stops and turns, giving you a fond look before engulfing you in a big hug and squeezing. Snuggling his face into into the crook of your neck and breathing in your scent, he mumbles.

 "Mm, good morning Windblume... I missed you."

 You let out a sigh, a small smile on your lips as you wrap your arms around him, gently squeezing back.

 "’Morning, Venti. Why are we here so early?"

 He breaks away from the hug, taking an apple from the bag and holding one up to you, intertwining his free hand with yours.

 "Well... I thought maybe we can have some breakfast and a little relax time before class starts? I could sing you a new song I've been working on!"

 You laugh, take the apple from his hands and bite into it.

 "Do apples count as breakfast? Doesn't sound like a full meal to me~"

so we're both 15, and he's done this thing a couple times where he'll create a new groupchat and exclude certain people who he's not as close to.

to me, this is mean, and i've spoken to him calmly about it before but he kinda just brushes it off and says he's just including close friends.

its also relevant that previously i may have enabled him. like, theres a girl neither of us like and we'd make fun of her sometimes, though not to her face, which is probably worse. i'm trying to be nicer to her but i dont get along with her very well.

on top of that, the origin of the gc we use now is that there was a bigger one and he told me "i just don't feel comfortable with some of these people". so i created a new group chat and let him pick who got added, with the agreement that we'd have to come to an agreement before adding more ppl, just for the sake of everyones comfort.

not sure if this is actually relevant or if im just salty but he doesn't spend time with the people in the gc at school, he sits with a group of juniors n seniors for lunchtimes and only comes around every so often. not sure if he's just spending one-on-one time with everyone or if he's actually not hanging out with us anymore.

into the actual inciting incident

today, we were talking about the groupchat to a friend we'd made recently and added today. he offhandedly mentioned one of the smaller groupchats he'd made for closer friends, and how no one had used it. i got really mad about how casual he was about something i thought was mean of him to do, so i told him something like "i just think that it's a rude thing to do."

and he said something like "well im just including our close friends", we kept going like this for a bit, and I yelled at him "why are the only people that matter the ones YOU like?" and there was more of a kerfuffle i don't remember, but i did in fact cry (self-provoked, he didnt say anything). i apologized for being so dramatic, and he left. it was class time so i left too, and my sister drives me and she had work so i left school really fast.

we have a little routine where we watch a show together on call though and he said yes when i asked about that. after asking him abt our show, i texted him n apologized for yelling at him n asked to talk but i said that i still thought that the way he treats people kinda sucks. no response.

i really don't want to drop him as a friend, not just because i like spending time with him, which is most of it. the other part of it is that im really scared of what will happen if he gets mad at me, because i don't want to break up the friendgroup into people taking sides, and to a lesser extent im scared that if that does happen no one will take my side in that conflict. it just doesn't seem worth it to get into a blowout with him about this when i don't want to lose anyone.

tiktok anon here. i agree that i dont have a problem with people acknowledging them as friends than smth more because truthfully i am not particularly a shipper, theyre just my favorite dynamic and i dont mind (some) shipping spaces. its just the tone of the comments is so different to other ships and hard agree on them being ignored a lot too. i seen a compilation of jungkook reacting to bts members coming to his lives that just so happened to ignore the times jimin showed up (and jungkook proceeds to beg him to meet up lol).

non shippers want the pairings to be all treated similarly but the way they interact (or dont) with jikook content sets them apart immediately.

Maybe I have Sydney brainrot so strong but the idea that Syd is a fangirl, or like easily into Carmy feels so bad to me. She’s a woman in a field where talking to people like they’re shit is normalized by older chefs, where yelling is okay, and it’s toxic as hell. Idk I feel like she respects Carmy but she looks at him coming to Chicago/The Beef as an opportunity. Also she kinda sees him as Every other Asshole she had to work for when she talks to Marcus. The last episode is the moment it hits her, Carmy isn’t like the other chefs in her life, now this is the real deal.

So I beg pls stop writing her as Carmy blushing love interest when tbr Carmy is the one in that spot. Most of my friends work in the industry, some are extremely talented (actors, writers, producers, directors and so on) everyone in LA is some of that lol.

People with connections, money and whoever went in whatever very expensive schools (talking $$$K per year, therefore creating networking by having money to go there) are the people that are making it, ( These are honestly the only ways to do it but 90% have connections, that’s why everyone in Hollywood knows everyone else, and nobody will ever put a foot in front for you, unless they know you) some that are not, rarely, are able to break it.

Also the amount of sex advances and sex in general involved in some “opportunities” it’s still a lot and pretty nasty, almost all my friend had some sort of sexual advances with promises, some ppl that I know unfortunately went this route and let’s just say, it’s going well for them… (it’s sad)

A friend of mine is an amazing /producer (won a lot of awards) and they only have a visa not a GC and a big big production company offered him a deal, like dream job deal, change your life forever deal, my friend told them they had a valid working visa but not a GC the production company hung up on them in 2 seconds.

So even many legal immigrants with the right education and experience, have zero chances to make it, they need to get married basically and maybe they can get a job and starting for the bottom again.

A lot of my actors friend barely survive as “guest” on show or small parts in movies, a friend of mine was casted on GA for 1 episode and they are considered almost successful among us, just to show you how HARD it is.

So, for me the fact that a lot of untalented actors (especially white men) are casted on S19 ( but a lot of other show tbh) it is just proof that someone inside the production want to push these specific actors, let’s be honest, they are bad (most of them) and they’ll become regulars (that’s the dream)… it’s fucking hilarious and sad and shady, why they keep punishing the original cast by adding these terrible actors and storyline by taking away plot and acting opportunities to much more interesting characters and actors…?

I feel like fanon jc is comprised of a lot of good characteristic of other characters in the fandom. Namely Gu Xiang, Mu Qing, Yin Yu and other protective tsundere oniichan/oneechan in anime/manga.

Gu Xiang is the protective Jiejie who berates ZCL, Cao Weining (people she loves). She threatened them with ‘I will break your legs‘ often to those people (affectionately) and mean people (derogatory). She is the knife mouthed tofu hearted girl who doesn’t admit straight up she wants to protect people and gets attached, but at the end of the day, she gets attached to them and is a protective tsundere jiejie. Very similar to fanon jc who belittles, berate wwx of losing face, but Gu Xiang will deck anyone who FUCKING MESSES with ZCL and Cao Weining. And her master and ZZS, and she means it. She called ZCL names but will throw hands if anyone ridicule or bully him (the one episode where he cries and tried to hide it from her) yeah.

Yin Yu is the loyal person to HC, always beside him when we see him in Ghost City, MXTX told us that he has ‘forgettable face’ (but maybe XL only sees HC and seeing HC and YY side by side he definitely don’t remember this guy other than HC’s loyal subordinate). He resents HC, Hualian together perhaps and people who are lucky enough to have worshippers and have a good stable position in heavenly realm (since he died and eventually become HC’s subordinate in GC). He is unlucky, has no HC person who can repel his luck or a dedicated worshipper to keep him a martial god. He envies HC and Hualian but he doesn’t act on those jealousy. He stays loyal to HC after everything.

Also there is Mu Qing, Xue Meng and Liu Qingge who are the other tsunderes in danmei that might have been compared with fanon jc, and I feel like I said a lot of cents on this but fanon jc is a mixed of trope and personalities of these characters packed into one, it’s not bad but kinda irritating to see this guy everywhere when you want to read stuff where he is an asshole.

Also MXTX whole relationship trope of MDZS is reversed in TGCF. Xianle trio was a break it, and they reconciled (like what YMJ trio/shuangjie fans wants), YY and HC are essentially Shuangjie situations but YY has proven time and time again that he can betray HC or harm him at the very least, but he doesn’t. It doesn’t erase his feelings that are complicated re:HC. XL has no relationship or support system for years, until HC came, shit happens and XL trio reconciled and YY (who are associated with HC) also becomes his extended family of sort with HX (vs WWX who had a lot of support system in the beginning and he only has LWJ and juniors at the end eventually until the Lans warm up to him) (The meta by vrishchika made me connect the dots)

MDZS is like getting away from toxic family to new found family to its okay the world is against you if a person is by your side.

TGCF is about losing your found family first before reuniting with them at the end when you reach your happy ending after all this.

WHAT  INSPIRED  YOU  TO  TAKE  ON  THIS  MUSE:  i was just getting into castlevania because i love spooky things like monsters and vampires and complicated themes of religion because it’s #relatable to me as a gay trans person, so i was bingeing through the show and was going to get to the games next. then simon & richter were announced for smash and i thought richter was cute so i binged through rondo and sotn and oops i saw the potential there for his character so i decided to pick his muse up!! i tend to go for sad muses that slowly heal as time goes on i guess. a lot of richter is mostly speculation / hc’d based bc castlevania is not heavy on character lore at all ( at least before lords of shadow anyway ) so a lot of his character comes from what’s seen in canon & expanded on / thought on, which is a good writing exercise on its own!!

WHAT  ARE  YOUR  FAVORITE  ASPECTS  OF  YOUR  CURRENT  MUSE: i think there’s something interesting - and unsettling - about the belmont and dracula dynamic, in which that belmonts are pretty much cycled through every century and just basically forgotten about, and it’s really only brought up in sotn with richter. granted, richter was brainwashed at the time so you can argue that who knows what’s actually richter’s feelings, but i like to think that deep down inside there is that fear of being forgotten about inside of him. richter had completed his entire life journey at 19 years old, and that’s barely out of adolescence years. 

combined with losing his fiance ( with dxc anyway but i feel like annette had left richter in the continuities where she lives because she became disenchanted with the vampire hunter lifestyle ), i imagine richter’s mental health really wasn’t so great after that. of course, richter wants to appear strong to people and he probably through that they would think of him as weak and unlike his great, legendary ancestors - even if there is a rational part of him saying that they’re human too, he feels like he needs to be like them as a hero and warrior. and those thoughts and such were used against him. all because all of that was drilled in his head, in some form of another. maybe not by his family directly, but the impact they left and the cycle they’re in.

tl;dr leon belmont wanted to fight the night but all he got were grandkids with anxiety

WHAT’S  YOUR  BIGGEST  INSPIRATION  WHEN  IT  COMES  TO  WRITING: having plots & threads that go along with richter’s character really well usually makes me write faster!! music sometimes helps too, though i can’t listen to music while i write bc i’ll overstim myself that way.

FAVORITE  TYPES  OF  THREADS:  deep, meaningful threads. humor’s good too and crack threads are pretty funny too when i’m feeling them. i’m also a sucker for romance HAHAHA

BIGGEST  STRUGGLE  IN  REGARDS  TO  YOUR  CURRENT  MUSE: mostly keeping up with threads and finding longterm partners, especially in a mfrp like isola. castlevania is still kind of a niche thing so finding partners who are even interested in threading with a mostly obscure character can be kind of a downer at times as well ( i always feel like i’m screaming into the void about castlevania stuff LMAO ), so that’s really the only struggle i can think of, aside from rping a character that’s largely hc based! it’s rough out here for the non-netflixvania bitches like me :pensive:

-As the hollering quietened down Jisung taps ur shoulder

-Rather than deigning Jisung with a worded response a wicked plan forms in ur head

-You tapped Minho’s shoulder to divert his attention from Seungmin

-As he faced you, you grabbed his tie and pulled him in for a kiss

-He was a little shocked at how brazen you were bc hello this is school and these are ur friends but honestly,,, he freaking LOVED it

-He smiled into the kiss and one hand rested on your waist as the other rested on your jaw pulling you deeper into the kiss
