Fullmetal Alchemist Chapter 93

It looks like Heinkel may have lost part of his left ear.

The moment Pride realized he'd lost the advantage with Kimblee's defeat, he goaded Al into heading into Central to fight Father instead. So then why did he attack Marcoh? Was Pride going to "miss" Marcoh and convince Al that the group needs to flee?

Behold the face of bravery. (This is genuine. Yoki is being a really brave man here.)

Heinkel's arm is fully healed.

Kimblee loved to put himself in dangerous situations. He felt most alive when his life was at stake. He understood that human society as a whole wouldn't accept him because of his mannerisms and desires, so he sought acceptance elsewhere.

He claimed survival proved the world accepted him, and that fate had chosen him for some greater purpose. But in the end, he died an inglorious death at the jaws of a beast.

And so ends this plot-thread, or at least the most immediate concerns and interests about it. Now we have 6 more to wrap up.

Proof that Roy can do Alchemy other than making flames.

Back with the Armstrongs, I can understand how the giant spike pierced through Sloth, but I'm just not sure how Alex pulled it off. His Alchemy activates on contact with stone and he's touching the side of the spike. We don't see what was beside Alex last chapter so I guess the rubble next to Alex was fairly large.

This is also one of the most gruesome injuries a Homunculus has taken. And it probably burns through Sloth's Stone even more since he has to rely on his Stone to keep him alive while the rock is stuck in him.

Envy seems way more fluid in the way it attacks. And I mean a goopy sort of fluid.

One of the Elrics finally got to wield a spear without it being immediately destroyed.

That is not the correct spot the armor piece with Barry's bloodrune should be. There was another piece that fell there that looked like it though. The piece with the bloodrune should be by the corpse cause Barry's physical body was holding it when it died.

I wonder is Roy had any thoughts to seeing the crew Ed had with him this time. Last time, Ed was hanging around with a foreign prince and ninjas. Now Ed is hanging out with a terrorist and circus animals.

Ed, Roy, and May have all come together now so we're at a far more manageable 4 major plot threads now.

That buildup to Roy finally getting what he wants. He asks who killed Hughes with a stern look in his eyes, but he's not doing the eye thing. He wants to know, but it's not a priority at the moment.

Ed is sweating because he's seen this before. Darius and Jelso don't know anything but can tell something is up.

And Roy is sick of trying to find Hughes's killer at this point. He's not willing to deal with Envy's mockery or petty insults. And while Envy loves to dish out insults, it can't stand being mocked.

And then Envy reveals itself as Hughes's killer and goes one step further by showing how it transformed into his wife when it did it.

Darius and Jelso are enraged at hearing what Envy has done, but May and Scar are more alarmed at Roy's face. We can't see his eyes but May recoils in fear when she looks at him.

And Hawkeye seems more upset than anything. She's likely feared the day they would find Hughes's killer because she knows what will happen next.

And then Roy's eyes do that thing again.

They befriends people easily but they get particularly close to Nagato who end up in the med bay very often (this is my au and i do what i want dfgfhgfdq). They're a big supporter of the Nagato/Yahiko/Konan triad and nudges Nagato into confessing his feelings.

They're also very into Konan and Nagato but it won't happen before a whole lot of awkward flirting (im a sucker for that shit).

inuyasha needed training to learn to use his father sword, is okay if you didn't read the manga. Towa started having random power ups since episode 1 even thought she grown up in the modern era

"needed training to learn to use his father's sword" outside of learning how to use Kaze no Kizu properly and fixing Tessaiga, not really? the day he got it he used it to lop off Sesshomaru's arm. it worked out great at first when he was figuring it all out at first, but Tessaiga wasn't really a weapon Inuyasha had to train extensively and heavily to utilize and use.

combine that with Inuyasha's own pacing issues, quite frankly. and i WILL give you this- i actually would have also liked it if Towa had to spend an episode or two learning how to to fully properly utilize her ability to channel yoki into weapons. i can accept it due to her being bound with the Silver Pearl her entire life and learning how to tap into that energy during an emergency when confronted with true danger, but i'm not gonna fault Yashahime for not taking 54 episodes/192 chapters just to learn how to fully use her fucking sword right. not to mention: it’s been a while since i’ve seen early S1, but didn’t ti take a few episodes for Towa to figure out how to make the lightsaber?

"random power ups" she can do THREE things. absorb yoki, channel yoki into weapons (in her case, making a lightsaber mostly), make the Soryuha. if anything, Moroha has pulled out more attacks out of her ass than her main protagonist cousin! what the fuck can't Moroha do? and i say that with love!

she has LESS power ups than Inuyasha ever did and probably ever will. her new sword didn't even significantly have any new amazing powers other than making small shields around her: it's just a significantly better conduit for what she had already been doing the whole show.

Inuyasha had to figure out how to use the sword properly, which I still think would have been nice for Towa to spend 2-3 episodes figuring out fully, but i would object to saying he needed training to use it. it is a deus ex inheritance from his father that became more OP and gathered a shitton of techniques for Inuyasha as time went on, compared to Towa, who's only power ups has been learning to release her yoki to make a giant attack and getting a sword that just compliments what she was already doing

anyways i'm 200% OK with Towa figuring out how to use her powers quicker instead of waiting 500 episodes to get on with it. Yashahime doesn't really focus a lot on training lmao

you do have a point and i can acknowledge that, but it's buried under stupid salt and the idea that somehow Towa gets as many power ups as her uncle did when she's been largely consistent the whole show and unlike him hasn't obtained any power ups that she's only used once or twice only

Big and little things i love about Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood in no particular order (spoilers ahead, duh)

Big things

Religious undertones make Mormon brain go brr

This story doesn't follow a "chosen one" or even a selfless volunteer; it follows two broken children who begin the story by falling from grace

And one extremely broken, extremely OP man who messes absolutely everything up and is kind of a dork but has good intentions (this is a Hoenheim stan account!!!!)

Ed is working through his relationship with God the whole time and i have to respect that lol

Equivalent exchange as a concept sets the story up very well for you to understand and accept sacrifice and tragedy

It's honestly just such a good!! Such a good plot device!!!! It gives so much structure and depth and nuance to the world!!!!!

With equivalent exchange being so heavily emphasized you have to wonder, the entire time, what they could possibly give in order to get what they desire. When you find out, it's tragic but it's also poetic, perfect, inevitable.

One of the big Points of the story is that to be human, including having weaknesses and shortcomings, is the greatest gift you could ever have + that each life is irreplaceable

And that to love and rely on other people is one of the most beautiful, human things you could do

Little things

Everyone's relationships. They are all so fleshed out! They might as well be real people!!!

Edward's relationship with Roy being messed up because it's like a father/son dynamic that neither of them was ready for & didn't want to admit to, but it mellows out so nicely

Roy and Riza, literally one of my favorite relationships in a piece of media

Scar loves cats. I thought this was an internet joke but when he sees Shao May he gets like really excited and tries to pet her. Is this why he let Mai tag along with him and Yoki? Because he liked the cat?? 😂

Mann’s salmon fishcake

AT Sheffield University in the Eighties urban geographers detected an invisible line which ran through the then Hole in the Road. Below it, past C&A down to The Wicker, taking in the Castle, Sheaf and Rag and Tag markets – and the courts – was territory occupied by what sociologists called rough working class.

Above it, from Rackham’s to High Street, Fargate and the Moor was the domain of the respectable working class and the city’s relatively small  middle class.

Modern sensibilities being what they are, we no longer use these terms but some may raise a wry smile that there is now a bridgehead of gastro-gentrification in what was the old Brightside & Carbook Co-Op in Castle House, now the Kommune Food Hall. Here they sell lobster thermidor for £30 a go, Korean spicy pork, vegan salads and sourdough loaves not 30 yards from the Poundland opposite.

Kommune sounds a bit beardy and trendy with tattoos optional and indeed it is, on both sides of the counter. But in the opening weeks this enterprise with 10 different food options has had a real vibe and exciting atmosphere. Sit at the communal tables, bar stools or booths and you get just a hint of Lisbon’s Time Out food hall, although not the sophistication.

On our first two visits it was packed and difficult to find a table, on our third, a Tuesday, it was quieter but still busy. And certainly livelier than when you went to get your divi at the old B&C.

At lunchtimes you order from each kiosk, pay and are given a buzzer when your food is ready. Evenings are more relaxed: pagers are dumped and food is brought to your table.

Kommune is still being developed. On the non-food side there is a splendid  bar curving around the well of the building’s impressive spiral staircase, an art gallery and arty magazine shop but the building still has acres of empty space.

I’ve eaten or bought from seven of the independent businesses here. There is a ubiquitous burger and a pizza place, which I have yet to try, but the star of the show has to be Mann’s fish bar, the offshoot of the wet fish business at Sharrow Vale (where owner chef Christian Szurko already cooks up lunchtime fish ordered from the slab).

Kommune is all about street food and you might say Mann’s is hardly that. Here we had an excellent, if slightly small salmon fish cake (£10, to a Savoy Hotel recipe) on a dazzlingly good dill sauce and a ‘fish finger sandwich’ of battered goujons inside a squid ink-coloured bun. Chef Scott Mills, Christian’s partner, is enthusiastic about things so far.

The menu looks tempting: there is also dressed crab, clam chowder, steamed  mussels and stuffed squid but did he really sell many thermidors? “They fly out,” he said, perhaps a little over-dramatically. “We don’t make anything on them but it gets us known.” He covers the breakfast and brunch market with dishes like kippers and haddock frittata with more expensive and sophisticated offerings at night.

We have yet to go at night. A trip to the Chaat Cart, a South Indian street food joint, produced an excellently flavoured chicken kati roll (£8), spiced-up poultry with vegetables on  a roti. It was chicken for me from Shoot The Bull, a rotisserie and grill. I enjoyed my quarter chicken (£7.50) which was hardly more than a leg. This had been first brined then basted with maple syrup so there was plenty of flavour in the flesh and skin. The price included top quality chips fried in beef dripping. One thought: I never saw more than two birds on the rotisserie so the stall lacks kerb appeal.

Pom Kitchen is an Australian-inspired vegan and veggie option. The salad bowl (£7) was lively salad with decent focaccia let down by boringly bland hummus. A trip to Yoki, a Korean enterprise, offered an interesting spiced pork (slices stir-fried with chilli) which combined heat with a touch of sweetness. It came with a timbale of rice and salad garnish.

Kiwi coffee from local enterprise Tamper is stronger and richer than your average cup (each shot uses 42g of beans instead of the usual 36g) so you might not be safe drinking it after 2pm!

So far, so good. Kommune could do with a desserts offering, perhaps to justify lingering in the evening.  It’s so refreshing to see something good, locally owned and independent in the city centre as a change from all those dreary old chain eateries.

#Castle House,  a Grade II listed building has a lot of history and a story of delay caused by two world wars. Land was originally bought by the B&C on Angel Street in 1914 just before war broke out so building was delayed until 1927. It was slowed by discovery of the Sheffield Castle site and not completed until 1938. The building was destroyed in the Sheffield Blitz of 1940. The new building, designed by G S Hay, took as its inspiration Irving Park’s Sears Roebuck department store in Chicago, with its two blind walls on the first and second sales floors. The splendid interiors, including a mural, are by Stanley Layland.

For Christmas I decided go back to Nioh 2 and try out the last two DLC’s that were released. I think the quality overall was good, even though the second DLC kinda re-used maps from the main game. The DLC’s were pretty short too, but hey. Quality over quantity, right?

I wasn’t a fan of the splitstaff, but DAMN I enjoyed using the fists. The fists are fast and just eat through enemy ki like candy. Now that I think about it they’re very similar in function to the tonfas. But the fact that you’re beating the shit out of demons with your fists is too cool to pass up.

The bosses overall were pretty good, but I felt a little disappointed in the final boss. Otokemaru was a damn good final boss in the main game, but his more monster like form just couldn’t compete. My favorite new boss over all was Tate Eboshi. A giant busty demon lady with a big scythe, she was a tough but fun fight.

Some of the new Yokai they introduced were amazing. Like there’s a giant living cart that has a huge creepy grinning head coming out of it. The variation Yokais we got in the DLC were some of the toughest damn things to fight. The giant corpse tengu is so difficult to deal with. Then there the bling bling cyclops, who’s not that bad, but still much worse than your average cyclops. The kusarigama/cannon yoki variation was tough as shit, then there’s the mage yokai that splits into three, and the water lady. I don’t remember their names from the top of my head, but they’re all pretty difficult. I mean, if you’re using a normal melee build. You can probably delete these enemies in seconds using a cheesy OP ninjutsu build or some shit.

Overall, pretty good! Two new weapon types, a bunch of cool new yokai, new bosses and tons of new armor sets to play around with. This is a good bunch of DLC’s. And if you just want to do the main missions they’re not that long either, but I do recommend doing sub-missions too because they offer unique encounters and nice loot.

Wooden sandals clicked quietly against the floorboards, drowned out by the loud hooting and cheering from pirates all around - Reiji hesitantly leaned closer into the circle that had formed on the main deck, one of the adults made way so he could squeeze his way in with a sheepish ‘thank you’ - his accent still felt far too out of place. It had barely been a year since his feet last walked on samurai soil, the learning curve was expected but no less frustrating. They had to be in hiding, after all, erasing every part of his former self in order to simply survive.

Reiji focused his attention to the movement before him before his thoughts could fray any further. Fastidious limbs moved in a flurry of kicks, sweeps, and blocks. The opponents facing off against one another looked no older than he was.

Bright blue eyes drifted to the figure in black - stark white hair pulled into a loose ponytail, some manner of paint adored their face, too. They were small but their moments quick, somehow always one step ahead of the boy opposing them; in that very instant, he was enthralled.

Although Reiji had seen people of his country spar without weapons before, it was never like this.

「 They were amazing. 」

In the following months, Reiji had come to learn that the strange kid’s name was Kirin, only one year his junior. Even as they interacted more, he’d also noticed that Kirin was awfully quiet, rarely initiating conversations with him. The only times that he would get talkative was around Hani and Izzy, two older boys who were discovered as stowaways on this crew’s former ship with Kirin.

It wasn’t bad, there was a companiable silence that came with spending time alone in their presence. Though he still wanted to learn more about them, and Reiji found himself yearning for the companionship that the three of them shared. Their bonds would strengthen in due time, with Kirin allowing Reiji small peeks into his personal space whenever they felt appropriate, even referring to him as ‘Recchan’ from a certain point and so on. Reiji was grateful for being accepted, even more so see new sides to his new companion that he wouldn’t dream of asking for prior.

With close friendship, however, came close contact. This is where the trouble began.

Reiji couldn’t pinpoint when exactly in his mind that he’d stopped, or started, for that matter, seeing Kirin as a friend and as someone he wanted to be with. They always seemed so out of reach, so far ahead of him in terms of strength and social status with their peers.

Even so, Reiji still found himself longing for the comfortable silence that accompanied their alone time together, lighting up internally whenever their hands or shoulders met for whatever casual platonic interaction they’d have, that, in Reiji’s defense, also did with other friends, but no one ever made his heart skip a beat when their skin brushed against him like Kirin.

Whenever he thought of them, he thought of what life would look like at their side, not constantly playing catchup, but ideally keeping up with them as an equal. And, well, made Reiji did have a small inkling of when ties of friendship were dyed red with something... different.

「 Not realizing how far I’d fallen. 」

”You cut your hair?“

“Yeah, guys usually keep it short, right?”

Caught up in the whirlwind of feelings brewing deep in his chest, Reiji fails to mention how that’s patently false, or at least not entirely true, at least where the culture he grew up in was concerned. Men their hair proudly bound in topknots roamed the streets of the Flower Capitol long before Kaido’s tyranny was set upon them, a young Reiji even saw various hair lengths from the Beast Pirates that would come to suppress them.

All of that wasn’t important in the moment, hair was benign. What Reiji’s brain did focus on was a single term.

Guys.

All throughout his childhood, Reiji had never taken an interest in girls. He’d befriend daughters of fellow clansmen and play with them but whenever the topic of choosing a spouse came up at an uncomfortably young age, even in jest, Reiji always found himself drawing a blank as to whoever he’d want to build a life with, as older members would put it.

He’d always point to the friend he was closest with because it seemed to get the adults off his back, but wouldn’t understand why those friends he chose would get so weird with him afterwards with her cheeks tinted pink, some others even becoming upset with his choices. It wouldn’t be until years later when he met Akizuki, that everything slowly began to clear up.

Still, Reiji never talked about any of this.

When they’d first met, there was no indication of what Kirin’s gender was - everything about him sent mixed signals. The only thing Reiji could pick up on, was a subtle upset, as if hidden on purpose, whenever Kirin was associated with anything feminine. So he avoided that too, like any decent friend. It wasn’t information that implied maleness, though, and to Reiji’s teenage brain that had only been attracted to boy up until now, was a complete wrench in the works.

This, however, was explicit confirmation.

Kirin turns to leave, expression unreadable, the few seconds it takes for Reiji to process it all drag on a little too long for comfort, it seems, but the young man recovers quickly - he reaches to grab Kirin’s arm yet thinks against it at the last second for fear of being too aggressive, “Wait!”

He stops, one hand on the doorknob.

“Um, now that you have the desired ‘look’, would you like to perhaps do some guy- things.. with me?”

Reiji wishes the ground would open up to swallow him whole, Kirin stares at him like he’s an idiot for - One. Two.

Five full seconds before the laughter takes over and he has to lean against his dresser for support. There are visible tears in his eyes. Reiji prays that Narukami would personally strike him down so he wouldn’t have to die from shame instead. Reiji can’t do much else as he watches the apple of his eye slowly fizzle into quieter giggles - he doesn’t have a choice since Kirin’s blocking the door - the skies are ruefully clear, too.

“You’re hopeless, Recchan,” Kirin says between titters, Reiji prepares to excuse himself but once again misses his chance, “but cute, so I’ll allow it.”

The smile he’s given makes the humiliation disappear almost entirely, replaced by a kaleidoscope of butterflies stirring in his chest. Reiji is hesitant to open his mouth in fear of them escaping, so he responds to Kirin’s gesture with a small nod, ears tinted bright red.

「 I never had a chance. 」

Reiji’s head swims, the one thing that anchors him to the here and now is Kirin’s hand against the back of his neck, his own on the latter’s thigh. They pull away from each other, breathless, still linked to one another with a fine line of spittle between them.

“You.. you always kiss so dirty, Kir.” 

“M’yeah? Is that praise or a complaint?”

Reiji huffs, avoiding direct eye contact for the moment while he catches his breath - Kirin only laughs as he leans back on one arm, taking a swig from a wine bottle he’d snagged at some point with the other. They enjoy the silence that settles, allowing heartbeats to slow and a chance for blood to flow away from Reiji’s ears. Kirin’s met with a raspberry when he points this out; they snog a little more.

Even the stars above, giant balls of gas millions upon billions of years away, pale in comparison to the light they illuminate in each other’s presences.

“Do you really have to leave tomorrow?”

Kirin looks up from where his head lays in Reiji’s lap, opting to stare out to the sea from the balcony they’re occupying instead. 

“Yeah, ah ma said she’ll be here to pick me up in the morning. She’s rarely lenient about those kinds of things. On the bright side, though,” He turns back to him with a big ol’ smile.

“You’ll probably- no, definitely be a big-time swordsman by the time I get back, you won’t even have to worry about someone like me! You’re training under Mihawk, Recchan, the best!”

Kirin’s never seen a sadder shade of blue in anyone’s eyes before.

“Sorry, just looking for a silver lining,”  Kirin sits up again, this time resting his head on the older boy’s shoulder. Reiji’s hand is automatically a comforting weight on his thigh. “This- all of it doesn’t quiet feel real, you know? I don’t wanna be away from you for so long. Or everyone else.”

“You’ll have Hani, though, you'll be the lives of the party on that island.”

“And you’ll have Captain and Mio-chan. Be a good big brother to her, mkay?”

It’s said it jest, but Reiji catches the faint twang of genuine emotion that this statement from him of all people carries - he hums, softly threading his fingers through Kirin’s short hair, the buzzed bits are a pleasant, tickly texture. If they could stay forever like this, crystalized in a moment of such tender vulnerability, neither would complain.

“Recchan,”

“Hm?”

“Since it’s our last night together - and it will be for a while, I-- could... we do it?”

Reiji’s brain shorts a fuse for a second or two as the words sink in, it’s only when Kirin unclenches a fist from his pocket to show a - crumpled, but still good - condom that it really dawns on him what exactly is being asked. All too suddenly, he feels cotton-mouthed and lightheaded from blood rushing to two places at once. His ears, and, well.

“If.. if you’ll have me, Kir. Of course.”

Face still buried in Reiji’s shoulder, positively glowing with heat, Kirin nods.

「 You were everything I’d dreamed of. 」

Morning greets the tangle of sheets and limbs occupying one of the many rooms in Mihawk’s castle with harsh rays of light streaming in through large windows barren of any kind of covering. You’d think a “vampire” would invest a little more in blackout curtains, even if this was just a free room that would become Reiji’s lodging for the next few years. 

Thoughts of a similar vein swirl in Kirin’s head as he reluctantly hauls himself into a sitting position. He’d much rather spend another few hours avoiding the sun by hiding under the blankets, but knowing Ine, having them ripped off while Kirin and Reiji were in no state to be seen was a lot less appealing. Gently, he shakes the latter’s shoulders,

”Recchan, I’m gonna go get dressed. She’ll be here soon.” ”Will I still see you out?”

There’s something so forlorn in his tone that tugs on his heart strings, every shift to the edge of the bed feels like concrete. Kirin still manages a kiss on his cheek, lips, and forehead, though, 

“Yeah, I’ll make sure of it.”

Breakfast is surprisingly domestic with the world’s greatest swordsman, a fearsome warlord at that, too. Kirin stumbles into the dining hall to see Reiji waving at him in his pjs - Mihawk bounces his sleeping daughter in one arm and puts down another plate of sausage, eggs, and potatoes down with the other - his own breakfast consists of a cup of coffee and toast.

The man looks only mildly haggard from the wonders of new parenthood but otherwise doesn’t act too differently from what Kirin’s gleamed. Reiji’s allowed to interact more candidly with the older man from whatever sense of comfort he’s built; Kirin still feels a little awkward. They all have a small laugh about Bone King’s snoring being heard especially through echoey halls, but the boys quickly quiet down once they remember last night’s activities.

Mihawk only looks vaguely smug behind his newspaper but it’s honestly hard to say with how little that man emotes. After breakfast Reiji does the dishes and Kirin keeps Mion entertained with a rattle and teething ring on the floor, Mihawk is just relieved to be able to stretch for a bit before he sits down to ponderfully stare out of one of those huge windows again, pretending like he isn’t watching his daughter in the cover of his eye. 

Yoki drags himself out of bed in time to play with their kids and see Kirin off when Ine’s boat pulls up to the dock, a sleepy Hani in tow.

The captain’s goodbye to his boys is as mechanical as ever, uncomfortable around showing strong, tender emotions, but they hug him anyway. Regardless of whether Yoki’s stiff as cardboard, they know that he still cares for them. Mihawk only nods, waving baby Mion’s little hand in a surprisingly sweet gesture. Kirin and Reiji are allowed a moment alone together while the adults talk, whatever they needed to say had already been screamed the night before so they - they take this as an opportunity for a hug, a long one. They only part when Ine barks across the beach that she’ll leave whether Kirin’s on the boat or not.

They laugh, making time for one last kiss, a squeeze, before Kirin’s dashing across the rocks to catch his ride off Kuraigana. 

「 Wait for me, my home. 」

Custom Toonami Block Week 53 Rundown

Code Geass: Mao kidnaps a little blind crippled girl to get his not-girlfriend back from the guy who said he totally fucked her and stuff last episode and for some reason he believes him. Luckily the combination of Lelouch’s ridiculous planning skills and Suzaku’s ridiculous kicking shit skills are OP and CC murders him after he spills Suzaku’s secret about murdering his father, which is… yeah  

Inuyasha: The Togenkyo retelling begins and we have some weird clashes of early Inuyasha weirdness and mid-Inuyasha tropes. We get excuses to kick Sango out of the party for a few days and explanations about why Inuyasha didn’t go full demon but also weird things like Inuyasha calling Tessaiga with his sheathe which he never really does again. Also I’ve always wondered if this makes the jewel shard count different between the anime and manga since Peach Boy already has a jewel shard when they find him and this becomes part of the batch Kikyo gives to Naraku later in the manga but they hold onto it for a while in the anime so Anime Inuyasha has +1 jewel shard on Manga Inuyasha and that must be a bitch to keep track of continuity-wise.

Yu Yu Hakusho: Yusuke continues his quest to get his life back and transitioning from the end with Kuwabara last week we get his spotlight episode this week. It’s a straightforward ‘hero punk has loyalty and honor but villain authority figure doesn’t and rigs the game’ tale that is really relatable in shonen but like everything else in this series it’s done really well and seeing Yusuke beat up a bunch of punks as a schoolgirl is really funny. Luckily whenever he takes over a body he doesn’t seem to suffer any drawbacks from having less muscle or height or anything so I guess Yusuke’s just 100% technique when it comes to fighting.

Unlimited Blade Works: Rin and Archer jump into the Chapel where Caster decided to dress Saber up in her skimpiest wedding dress to play damsel in distress because something something killed Priest Alucard, Holy Grail, ???, Profit. But Archer definitely for reals betrays Rin and this isn’t a ploy or plan at all and Caster has like half the servants now. Then Rin takes Shirou to the big starry sky romance field so he can confess that she’s his love interest for this route.

Panty and Stocking: So Panty gets vored by a toilet and the girls get to do their animation transformation for an introduction, then the innuendo train literally comes to town and the fuck word is said approximately fifty times. But it turns out the real friends were the dicks we sucked and sweets we ate along the way.

FMA Brotherhood: Al fights Kimblee and Pride in one of the most badass fights in the seires until Kimblee gets struck down by an unfortunate lion attack and Pride gets taken out by a fucking car. (Mrs. Bradley saved him from getting hit by one car, Yoki fixes that right up). May keeps fighting Envy sortof and the Armstrongs fuck Sloth right up. Meanwhile the main character is stuck fighting fodder zombies until Mustang shows up because apparently if you change what kind of food truck it is Central Soldiers don’t investigate at all.

Attack on Titan: We get a flashback of how the racism trio killed Marco because he didn’t just fly away when he could and spare us two seasons of traitor reveals. Meanwhile Bertoldt decides to stop having any character nuance and go full racism and rage while Reiner’s down for the count he becomes a steam-powered nuclear bomb and blows everyone away.

Okinawa......Hawaii van Japan

Ik ben gisteren teruggekomen vanuit Okinawa en verblijf nu mijn laatste 5 dagen weer in Tokyo! Wat moet ik zeggen van Okinawa? Het is een prachtig eiland zoals je die ziet in reisgidsen, witte stranden en blauw water. Ik heb de volle 10 dagen in mijn zwembroek kunnen doen. Het was gemiddeld 22 graden en over het algemeen heb ik alleen maar zon gehad! 

De weg naar de kaap, het noordelijkste punt van Okinawa 

Vanuit Nagasaki heb ik de trein gepakt naar Fukuoka, vanaf hier was mijn vliegtickets het goedkoopst (€60 enkeltje) en het is ongeveer 1 1/2 met de trein. Ik had echt behoefte aan warmte en zon, dat vakantie gevoel. Ik ben nu van stad naar stad gehopt en heb veel mooie dingen mogen zien, maar het blijft wel city hoppen. Dus op een gegeven moment was ik er wel een beetje klaar mee....ik wil mijn zwembroek aan en vies bruin worden :) 

Wanneer aankom op het vliegveld in Fukuoka krijg ik meteen een camera en microfoon in mijn gezicht: ‘Can we ask you some questions’?. ‘Als je snel bent wel’ Ik weet niet waarom ik dat zei, aangezien ik 3 uur te vroeg was..hahah. Ik werd ondervraagd over mijn reis door Japan en wat ik ging doen in Okinawa. Alles werd mij in het Japans gevraag maar gelukkig was er een tolk aanwezig. Ik kreeg de standaard vragen voorgeschoteld: Waar kom je vandaan, wat doe je in Japan, wat ga je doen in Okinawa, wat vond je het mooiste van je reis, wat zou je andere reizigers adviseren en etc.

Ik weet niet wat het is maar Japanners zijn dol op Hollanders, want als ik vertel dat ik uit Nederland kom beginnen ze direct enthousiast te lachen en klappen, bizat haha.....ze zijn zo dol op ons dat er zelfs een pretpark is, gelegen in Nagasaki genaamd: ‘Huis ten Bosch’. Dit is een pretpark zo gebouwd dat het net klein Nederland is, met windmolens, tulpenvelden en zelfs grachten. Ik heb deze even overgeslagen.......ik heb denk ik wel een goed beeld van ons mooie landje...haha

Yoki Park, 15 minuten lopen vanaf mijn hostel

Na 3 uur hebben gehangen en wat gegeten/gedronken te hebben kan ik dan eindelijk het vliegtuig in.....ik kan de zon al voelen. Het vliegtuig is prima te doen alleen is de beenruimte niet ideaal, maar ik hier dan ook de uitzondering op de regel.....met mijn bijna 2 meter. De vlucht duur iets langer dan 2 uur, dus prima te doen. Ik lees en slaap wat en de tijd vliegt zo voorbij. De landing is wat eng want na het landen ging het hele vliegtuig van links naar rechts........sommige mensen werden zowat uit hun stoel gezwiept....maar gelukkig kreeg de piloot het vliegtuig onder controle en konden we dan eindelijk de zon in. Ik stap het vliegtuig uit en ik voel meteen de warme wind in mijn gezicht....vakantie.....eindelijk even dat vakantiegevoel ipv alleen maar het gevoel te hebben dat je van A naar B moet komen. 

Ik heb een hostel geboekt in Naha, dit is de grootste stad ten zuiden van het eiland. Mijn Hostel ligt zo’n 12 minuten van de airport af, dus ik hoeft niet al te ver met mijn tassen. Het hostel is goed onderhouden en er hangt een relaxte sfeer. Het is traditioneel ingericht en het is ook de bedoeling dat iedereen zijn schoenen uittrekt, behalve op de trappen. 

Ik krijg mijn kamer en bed toegewezen en ik ga naar boven. Ik gooi mijn spullen neer en het enige wat ik wil doen is douchen....opfrissen.....ik ben volledig doorweekt van het zweet en voel mij vies. Ik gooi mijn schoenen uit en begin met backpack uit te pakken. Dan plots komt er een geur mijn neus ingevlogen die zo ongelofelijk smerig/zuur ruikt dat ik er zelf onpasselijk van wordt. Het zijn mijn voeten/schoenen hahah...voor mijn reis had ik wat goedkopen sokken gescoord....van die dunne.....niet meer doen.....de geur is ondragelijk. Dan komt er uit de gezamenlijke slaapkamer een vrouw gelopen, rond de 45 jaar met een wat serieuze uitdrukking op haar gezicht....ik kijk haar aan en ik weet dat ze straks dezelfde geur gaat ervaren......ik pak snel mijn spullen en ren naar de douche....kut....ik vergeet mijn handdoek. Ik weer terug waarop ik op dat moment de vrouw kruis, ze kijkt nu boos en heeft haar neus dichtgeknepen....ik voel me wat schuldig maar denk ook: ‘Hey, hostel life, ga dan maar in een hotelkamer zitten’ 

Ik fris mij lekker op en ik besluit alvast rustig de omgeving rondom het hostel te verkennen. Ik trek mijn zwembroek aan en ga op pad. Ik check ondertussen Google Maps en ik zie dat er strand gelegen is op ongeveer 15 minuten lopen. Ik besluit om langs de supermarkt te gaan voor wat eten en een biertje omdat vervolgens op het strand op te eten. Het is nu 20:00 ongeveer en donker. Onderweg naar het strand ruik ik de zee al en hoor de golven kapot slaan. Ik word steeds gelukkiger :) Na 15 minuten kom ik dan aan op het strand, het is een klein strand gelegen naast de snelweg.....dit is dan wel weer jammer....de snelweg loopt namelijk 50 meter vanaf de kustlijn door de zee....je kijkt dus als je op het strand ligt tegen flinke pilaren die de snelweg dragen. Maar fack it...het is strand en zee. Ik neem lekker plaats en eet en drink wat. Na een uur besluit ik terug te gaan naar mijn hostel om heerlijk wat te gaan slapen. Ik ben aardig gesloopt van de reis. 

De volgende ochtend doe ik even rustig aan, het is bewolkt en de vermoeidheid zit er goed in. Ik namelijk in mijn kamer die zo ongelofelijk hard kan snurken, niet te harde. Daarnaast slaat meneer ook nog eens 16 verschillende noten aan en veranderd zijn gesnurk telkens van decibel en snelheid.......het was een wat gefrustreerde nacht hahaha. Ik neem plaats in de gezamenlijke ruimte en begin met plannen van mijn 10 dagen. Ik check het weer en wat er allemaal te doen is op dit prachtige eiland. Ik kom al snel uit op een duikexcursie. Okinawa staat bekend als een duik/snorkel paradijs. Dus ik besluit een excursie te boeken voor de volgende dag. Het is dan namelijk zonnig en 21 graden, perfect duik weer! De excursie zal plaats vinden bij een van de nabij gelegen eilanden, Zamami. De excursie kost €100, je gaat dan met de boot naar Zamami waar je daarna op 3 verschillende plekken zal aanmeren om te duiken/snorkelen. Voor de €100 krijg je 1 duik vergoed en de het snorkelen is gratis. Besluit je, net als ik, nog een keer te willen duiken dan betaal je ongeveer €48 per duik. Ik heb het bij 2 gehouden omdat ik wederom slecht heb geslapen en ik na 2x duiken mijn lichaam aardig voel. Op een punt zelfs wat misselijk.....maar we hebben alles schoongehouden ;)

Ik adviseer iedereen om een duikexcursie te boeken! Het water is kraakhelder en het zeeleven/koraal is prachtig! 

Na een dag gedoken te hebben kom ik volledig rozig en vermoeid aan bij mijn hostel. Ik gooi mijn spullen op mijn kamer en besluit om wat biertjes te halen in de supermarkt. Even lekker in de tuin van het hostel met mijn benen omhoog. Op dit moment ontmoet ik Moui, een Japanse vrouw van 28 die voor een week in Okinawa is. We raken aan de praat en zij vraagt of ik mee wil naar het zuiden van Okinawa, hier ligt een park waar 1 van de eerste mensen hebben geleefd! Zij heeft een auto gehuurd dus we kunnen gemakkelijk daar heen. Het park ligt zuid oost van Naha, zo’n 30 mintuten rijden. Het heet Gyoku Sendo. Het is echt een aanrader. Het kost 2500 yen, €22. Je krijgt dan een tour van een uur waarin alles wordt uitgelegd omtrent de geschiedenis van deze plek. Ze hebben ook Engelse versie dus je kunt het prima bijhouden :) 

Hier hebben ze de stoffelijke resten gevonden van 1 van de eerste mensen op aarde! De plek zelfs wordt vandaag de dag nog onderzocht naar sporen en geschiedenis. 

De rest van mijn trip in Okinawa is volledig in rust, ik heb mijn social media verwijderd en neem even mijn rust van alles. Ik heb in het hostel Jacob ontmoet, een 24 jarige man uit Canada. Hij werkt in het hostel voor gratis onderdak. Hij reist al ongeveer 5 maanden en gaat na Japan door naar Vietnam. Ik trek lekker met hem op en geniet! We hangen lekker in de stad, we pakken lekker wat stranddagen en gaan heerlijk uit! Je moet hier trouwens niet te vaak uit.....Japans is alles behalve goedkoop. 

Ik besluit om voor 2 dagen een auto te huren. Je kunt in Okinawa gebruik maken van het ov maar dit is vrij prijzig en er rijden alleen bussen naar het noorden. In de steden vind je de monorail maar deze komen niet heel ver. Het noorden van Okinawa kent meer natuur en mooie stranden. Ook al wordt Okinawa gezien als een paradijs met prachtige stranden je kunt niet zo gemakkelijk ‘eventjes’ naar het strand lopen. Wil je echt volop genieten van een strandvakantie in Okinawa, dan moet je echt een resort boeken. Let wel, de prijzen zijn echt belachelijk duur. Een ‘simpel’ resort, wat ze eigenlijk niet eens hebben, kost je al snel €200 per nacht. 

De eerste dag dat ik mijn auto heb rij ik naar het aquarium, dit ligt in mid-westen van Okinawa, ongeveer een uurtje rijden van Naha. Het aquarium kent een groot bad met haaien, schildpadden en nog veel meer zeeleven. Daarnaast loopt er een groot park rondom het bad. Hier kun je zeehonden, dolfijnen en nog meer dieren bewonderen. Ik ben hier eigenlijk niet geweest omdat het weer het niet toe liet maar ook omdat het best zielig is. De beesten zitten in vrij kleine ruimtes, ik werd er zelf een beetje onpasselijk van. Na wat rond te hebben gehangen in het aquarium ben ik lekker terug gegaan naar het hostel. Het aquarium was behoorlijk druk, je moet in de rij staan om dichtbij het glas te kunnen komen. Mensen bleven zo 5 a 10 minuten hangen bij het glas om foto’s te maken of selfies. 

De dag erna besluit ik om al vroeg de auto te pakken en eigenlijk het hele eiland te verkennen. Ik stap om 07:30 mijn auto in en besluit om helemaal door te rijden naar het noordelijkste puntje van Okinawa. Vanaf hier rij ik dan rustig aan weer terug naar het zuiden. Ik heb prachtige kusten gezien, stranden, eilanden, stukken jungle en nog veel meer.

Bloesem begint langzaam door te komen. Op Okinawa is de bloesem vaak een maand eerder dan op het vaste land van Japan.

Na mijn bezoek aan de kaap stap ik weer in mijn auto en ik kijk op Google Maps of er wat in de buurt ligt. Ik zie dat er een stuk jungle ligt wat je kunt bezoeken, je betaald hier 1200 yen voor. Je kunt dan kiezen uit verschillende loop routes. Je wordt met een bus naar boven gebracht en dan kun je vervolgens zelf naar beneden lopen. Je loopt door stukken Jungle en je heb prachtige uitzichten over de kaap.

Ik liep de route samen met het olympisch bodybuild team. Jonge, brede gasten die alleen maar liepen te geiten.

Na mijn bezoek aan het Yambaru Park park rijd ik door naar het zuiden. Ik besluit om naar het Kouri te rijden, een klein eilandje ter westen van Okinawa. Het ligt vlakbij het aquarium en het staat bekend om de lange brug die het eiland met Okinawa verbind. 

Ik verken het eiland wat en neem een bak koffie. Ik geniet van het uitzicht en check wat mijn volgende bestemming gaat zijn. Ik kom uit op een toeristische attractie: Heart Rock. Dit een steen die gevormd is als een hart....de naam zegt het al. 

Pad wat naar Heart Rock loopt. Het is ongelofelijk druk onderweg en op het strand helemaal. Ik moet wederom in de rij staan om een foto te kunnen maken. Er lopen groepen mensen die allemaal foto’s/selfies aan het maken zijn.....dit zie je natuurlijk niet als je het opzoekt op Google..

Na mijn bezoek aan dit niet zoveel zeggende stuk steen rij ik weer door. Ik rij door naar Nago, een stad gelegen midden van Okinawa. Ik zie dat er Castle Park ligt en ga dan ook daar heen. Het park ligt vrij hoog in de bergen. Helaas bij aankomst is het park gesloten vanwege renovaties, alweer haha. Gelukkig is er nog meer te zien op deze berg, ik vind een uitkijk punt met een prachtig uitzicht over Nago.

Helaas hing er wat mist over de stad maar vooralsnog een prachtig uitzicht. Het is nu ongeveer 16:00 en ik wil nog even naar het mooiste strand van Okinawa, Manza Beach. Dit schijnt het mooiste strand te zijn volgens bepaalde sites. Het is op de route en gas lekker daarheen. 

Helaas was het veel te winderig om lekker op het strand te gaan liggen. Dit is 1 van de resorts waar ik het over had. Als je hier zit heb je echt een strandvakantie. Ik ben natuurlijk niet in de zomerperiode en het is totaal uitgestorven....ook wel eens lekker :) 

Ik heb nog veel meer mooie verhalen opgedaan in Okinawa maar dit is het even in een notendop. Okinawa is prachtig, maar wil je echt een strandvakantie, dan adviseer ik je om ergens anders heen te gaan. Je kunt nog wel naar alle eilandjes die rondom Okinawa liggen maar dit was voor mij te prijzig en het weer liet het ook niet echt toe. Deze eilanden schijnen prachtig te zijn. Als ik ooit nog eens naar Okinawa ga dan boek ik op 1 van die eilanden een hostel/hotel. Ik ben nu 10 dagen op Okinawa geweest maar ik zat vast in 1 hostel, in Naha. Dit is gewoon een stad zoals alle anderen. Ik heb het echt super gehad en ben onwijs blij dat ik besloten heb om naar Okinawa te komen. Maar nogmaals, wil je een strandvakantie? Neem dan of heel veel centjes mee, ga meer ten noorden van Okinawa zitten (dan heb je wel de stranden maar weer geen uitgangs/restaurants plekken) of plan je vakantie door naar een van de eilanden. 

Ik ben nu weer in Tokyo waar ik van mijn laatste dagen ga genieten. Ik ga vanavond Tokyo verkennen in een kart...dit wordt echt geniaal...heel veel zin in. De rest van mijn dagen ga ik lekker uitslapen en in de chill modus.
