I was so excited to learn about this Summit. There have been so many Summits lately, on topics of great importance: Ancestral Healing, Trauma Recovery, Mitochondria, Brainwaves, Earthkeepers, Animal Communication… those are just a few I can remember that I’ve attended off the top of my head (and a quick search through my email inbox history)… but they have all been of the “lecture” sort, watching…

okay shifting back into doctor who mode

i finally watched the special, as well as the two new episodes with their release, and all i have to ask is that everyone realizes the space babies episode is probably foreshadowing right? like yes it was a very fun and silly romp with some good political commentary, but the core of this episode is that the educational software ran out of control and gave the babies a literal bogeyman to face in order to give them a story and teach them

the church on ruby road is a direct reference to labyrinth, a story where a girl's baby sibling gets kidnapped to be given to the goblin king and the girl must save the baby while meeting wacky strangers and learning moral lessons. the devil's cord breaks the fourth wall repeatedly, innovating with the medium and reminding you that this is a story you are watching unfold. and ruby says it herself in space babies, every story has it's hero

ruby sunday is a nineteen year old girl waiting for her life to start. she's brave and courageous and throws herself head first into danger to protect others. she's got the biggest family in the world, thirty-two siblings with the most loving mum, and she's all alone in the world with no trace of her past. and the shift towards fantasy all started with her introduction. she is the perfect storybook protagonist

so the universe is rewriting itself to give ruby sunday a story

genuinely hilarious btw how people on twt want soo bad to make matteo a villain in jannik's story or some shit like it's a disney movie. less than a month ago he said they'd talked recently and he's never had anything but good things to say about jannik but to some people it'll never be enough because he made a decision for his career that i understand is hard to digest but it has nothing to do with his relationship with jannik, jannik himself said it doesn't bother him, they both have never indicated they weren't on good terms. like yeah we can't ever really know the truth behind what they say in public, but i think we should stick with what we can see and read, yeah? because making wild assumptions based on nothing doesn't lead to anything good, it's just speculation and i don't see what anyone gains from it?? i think maybe some people need to grow up and accept that they don't know these people. they don't know jannik and what he thinks or feels or who he talks to or who avoids him or whatever. we know what he shows and tells us and that has to be enough because otherwise we go down dangerous paths

Para natural chapter 8 is literally peak and yes it is that serious to me.... If you dont understand it perhaps you need to reread the comic because this is when Zack gets to connect a billion red strings and take their baby gloves off and start fucking balling at full speeds. Chapter 8 is basically when Zack is like "hey you know this story youve been reading for 500+ pages? Well" *nier automata opening credits*

also i just earnestly wish that discussion and polite disagreement or challenging ideas/seeking to complicate narratives wasn’t seen as an aggressive action. because i feel we would all benefit from that. imagine if we could talk to each other in earnest! understand one another in online spaces! if we could build discourse and theory that wasn’t based on sniping at one another over this that or the other thing!

but these spaces have been so curated to foster anger and hate for so long that it feels like something that can no longer happen. and of course there is complication with reading the tone of the written word, but it was certainly done before!

Thinking about episode 7, which is called The Bridge because the Upside Down is literally the bridge (a wormhole) between Dimension X and the real world (The Right Side Up).

El has the power to open the gates, but she isn't the one who created the Upside Down because if it's a wormhole, it means that someone has bent space and time. And that someone was Will. He was trying to escape the Demogorgon. We don't see what happened, only the lightbulb flickering, and then both are gone.

That's why they're emphasising that the Upside Down is frozen on November 6th, the night Will vanished and El opened the gate. (I don't think he could have created the upside down if El hasn't opened it). And the Duffers put emphasis on one of the interviews, that it's frozen in time when Will disappeared. He's the key to understanding the Upside Down.

The question is, How did Will obtain this power? I believe he also travelled to Dimension X in 1979 when El opened the gate to send Henry there. That's why we have a flashback of Will (8) in episode 4, The Sorcerer. How that's possible, I don't know, but this was likely the first time he vanished (and maybe Jonathan and Mike were looking for him)

If you don't know, Henry obtained his powers when he travelled to Dimension X when he was a kid. His blood was "infected".

Now, with wormholes, there are more opportunities for them to travel in time. In this post, I wrote a while ago, and I explain a bit more about how it works with Will's abilities. Here, I called the Upside Down a tesseract because it's according to A Wrinkle in Time lore, but it's the same idea; it's like a wormhole/bridge.

But I don't think they can change the past because they're also in a time loop between 1943 and 1983. I bet the day the ship disappeared was also November 6th.

What if Ramshackle was home to a past Yuu in the 1800s (I think that's why the art and structure look from that century), and what we'll go through after Book 7, they did but with the past dorm leaders?

And what if they failed, but we succeed? 👀

i can’t stop thinking about that jacaranda tree in tallulah’s flower fields there’s so many implications there. the solid information we have is that phil logged in yesterday to “organize backpacks”, the tree and dugout appeared seemingly overnight, the waypoint is called ‘welcome back, nerd <3’. tubbo says that it’s likely someone who doesn’t know the mechanics of planting that kind of tree due to the waypoint placement in midair & the secondary dig that seemed to have occurred after the player realized the initial dig couldn’t host the tree.

our two most implicated players there are wilbur and tallulah; phil even points out that while the waypoint name is wilbur’s verbiage, the heart emoticon is not very wilbur and is more tallulah. he however pointedly makes it known that it’s built very wilbur-style, with spruce and stone walls. and logistically (to meta-talk it) it was not ccwilbur; he did not log in at an ungodly hour, dig a hole, plant a tree, and not tell anyone. plus (if we’re looking past the dialect disconnect) there’s no real reason for him to make a waystone seemingly welcoming himself back, and he isn’t narratively aware that the eggs are even missing, so it can’t be a wilbur-made-structure in preparation for tallulah’s return. so perhaps we say ‘well maybe ccwilbur asked ccphil to do it for him for some presently unknown reason and that’s why he logged in and organized backpacks!’ except why would phil lead tubbo there knowing it didn’t make much sense and was seemingly unfinished in terms of both build and story? (cc)phil could have so very easily diverted tubbo and him both from visiting but he made it a point to go out there to the field; phil saw the tree first, pointed it out first, investigated first, tubbo just followed his lead— did he know what he was walking into? was it planned; whose idea was that, the name of the waystone, the materials and contents chosen?

there’s no black concrete, which makes me hesitant to allude it to a dimensional-tallulah structure— there’s nothing that indicates she’s communicating like there has been with all the other eggs previous communications, not even a pink sign, though you could make the argument that the tree itself is her sign because it’s her favourite kind of tree, and it’s also her favourite color, but i think it’s kind of a stretch in the grand scheme of things. plus in a meta-sense, especially if we’re taking into account phil’s recent backpack organizing activities, there’s no reason to believe that 02 wouldn’t just dig and plant the tree herself, which still begs the question that even if it IS somehow tallulah’s doing, what was phil doing yesterday?

10) What fact do they excitedly tell everyone about at every opportunity?

rome is part of the group of people who discovered black holes! he's not one to brag about that but he loves talking about black holes in general, and discussing all his other theories. he's a walking encyclopedia in general but especially space facts will get tossed at your head all day if you're not careful

25) What subject / topic do they know a lot about that’s completely useless to the direct plot?

rome's best friend at the academy, morris (red reaperkiller's blorbo), has an angel stuck in his computer and because of that talks about angels a lot. rome would've had a hard time believing him at first since he's a man of science, but rather than becoming a sceptic he always tries to prove things with logic and reason and this situation is no different from that

because of this, he has knowledge with which he can create many devices that could be used to detect the paranormal (since angels and demons and to an extent ghosts too have the same origins in this universe), as well as measure frequencies in the surroundings that can accurately predict an angel warning (kinda like how you can predict extreme weather; angel warnings are stuff like huge flocks of birds that can do a lot of damage, or a light anomaly getting tangled up in electrical cords, etc)

while it's not entirely useless to the universe itself, it IS useless to the direct plot since rome's field of expertise is space and he has entirely different things to worry about, with his sister judah having vanished in space first and foremost, but now also a crew returning from the moon with only three of the original crew members of which two barely function anymore and a cosmonaut from some other mission they saved from certain death from a russian spacecraft in the moon's orbit. he's busy!!!

the technology he could develop would be super handy for some other guys running around in this universe but they're all the way over in louisiana (around rome's hometown actually! but that still doesn't change the fact he is now in the state of washington very very far away with a moon crisis (it's not the moon) (they think it's the moon) (it's all connected to judah's disappearance from many years earlier) (they don't know this) (rome suspects it but wants to be wrong so bad because if he's right that means he will probably never see his sister again) (he's right))
