‼️🇵🇸⛺️ Tents for people fleeing Rafah
[Plain text: Tents for people fleeing Rafah]
As you all may know, the grand majority (around 2 million) of Palestinians in Gaza have had their homes destroyed by Israel and/or have been displaced, and not all have access to proper tents, or any tents at all.
Bad quality tents lead to:
A severe lack of privacy, specially for breastfeeding mothers
More vulnerability to insects and flies
Suffocation and overheating for families inside
Cramming in the tents, leading to having to take turns to sleep.
This is where Hala Sabbah comes into play; She is fundraising to buy and deliver high quality tents to displaced families. You can see exactly what type of tents they are in the second half of the video posted above.
One of these tents usually costs around $700 (they were meant to be free, but profiting off genocide is a thing.) However, with the Rafah invasion, these prices are soaring.
As of today 12th of May, £55,479 out of £80,000 have been collected. With your help, we can reach that goal 💚

Everytime I post something pro peace I lose a swath of followers so this is my official stance: I care about having empathy and compassion for everyone and that all people deserve dignity, respect, and freedom. Jews and Arabs, Israelis and Palestinians, everyone.

clothing sizes do feel really dumb at times because like i’m technically very skinny but i carry all my weight on my tummy so if i want a non-tailored three piece suit i have to get the smallest size otherwise the pants and jacket will be far too big but if i wear the smallest size waistcoat i will literally not be able to get it buttoned so i have to buy every piece separately which is not only more expensive usually but also some stores don’t do each piece separately so fuck me i guess

Finished crafting my long-term build plan, besides skill books. Honestly don't know where to go from here. Probably giving each operator a module? In any case, more detailed info about what exactly I farmed below the cut. CN spoilers, photos, and a lot of talking below.
I suppose let's start with the goal.
Module 1/2/3: J/essicat Alter, L/iskarm
E1/E2/SL7: C/ivlight Eterna, A/sh, E/la
S1M1/M2/M3: P/allas, V/igil, M/izuki, C/ement
S2M1/M2/M3: S/hining, I/nsider, C/ivlight Eterna, A/miya (Medic), A/sh, H/oshiguma, S/hamare, F/iametta, I/frit, C/eobe, S/ilence Alter, S/wire Alter, A/miya (Guard), C/eylon, P/roviso, I/nes, S/iege, S/kadi, B/laze, B/lemishine, M/udrock
S3M1/M2/M3 T/horns, S/hu, S/hining, F/artooth, E/xecutor Alter, M/agallan, C/arnelian, D/egenbrecher, L/ee, S/uzuran, N/earlter, M/lynar, V/iviana, L/essing, V/irtuosa, H/oederer, E/la, B/agpipe, P/ozemka, R/osa, E/yja, P/assenger, H/o'olheyak, L/in, K/al'tsit, N/ightingale, L/umen, S/tainless, A/ak, G/ladiia, D/orothy, A/miya (Caster), S/aga, F/lametail, M/uelsyse, S/urtr, Q/iubai, C/hongyue, H/orn, E/unectes, E/xusiai, C/h'en
broke up names so I (hopefully) don't appear when searching for any operator ever lol
Before I start mastering skills, this is the stage of my depot.

Which should hopefully put into context why I have no base morale at the moment
Why didn't I start crafting earlier? Because I didn't know when I was going to be hitting the finishing point and didn't want to overcraft expensive materials that I would be getting as gameplay rewards. (Pick your poison really, if you start crafting early you can make good use of byproducts but poor use of event mats, and vice versa.)
The krooster planner I used looks like this
Tumblr media
If I reset the stock to zero, penguin stats estimates it @ 277.5k sanity, although it doesn't account for event rewards or farming rate ups, so the real number is significantly less. It also doesn't calculate chips/skill books however, so forces going both ways on the estimate.
Upper number is how many I need, lower number is how many I have. Ignore the green book count, that's how many green books I would need if I got no more blue ones.
Blue books are what I'm farming at the moment, and the chips will be farmed once the CN operators are closer to release. I think (I hope) natural sanity and events will be enough given my backlog, but only time will tell. I don't want to do more sanity math please.
This took me, uh. About since my last build plan was completed at the end of February, so. Just over five months-ish? Unfortunately there is no satisfying payoff like the last build plan
youtube
due to masteries taking forever to complete. Near all earned OP since then was converted into sanity refreshes minus some skins. Don't have a good estimate on how much OP I bought for sanity at the moment, but it did definitely happen.
Why did I do this? A desire for maximum sanity efficiency, at first, although mostly it was a goal I set for myself about not leaving built ops or 6*s behind. (This can also be observed in how I level my operators, besides the CC12 crew, fwiplord exam crew, and some early game ops/favorites, most of my e2s are between levels 35 and 45 because I level the weakest e2 first.)
Anyways, I like having a goal to work towards in regards to building ops that can remain constant for months. Watching as the Penguin Stats sanity estimate slowly crept down (or went up when I pulled a new 6*.)
I might do a smaller build queue of 4-5* operators actually. If you made it this far, send me unbuilt ops you consider 'bad' or never see usage of (or just like) I guess.

International Dialogue on Migration (IDM) 2024 on the theme "Facilitating Regular Pathways to a Better Future: Harnessing the Power of Migration" (organized by the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
This session will contribute to:
An evidence-based understanding of the challenges and opportunities for migration today andtomorrow, including geopolitical crises and scaling-up of solutions, as well as ways to address gaps in current knowledge.
Identifying innovative and cutting-edge solutions that governments at local, national, and regional levels have already put in place or could develop in the future, to harness the potential of regular pathways for migration as part of a 360-degree approach to human mobility.
Unpacking how multilateral action and broad-based partnerships including private sector, diasporas and local communities, at the national, regional and global levels to facilitate regular and safe pathways for migration contribute to the response to some of the most distressing crises in the world, supporting integration and the transition to peace and prosperity.
Understanding how to achieve more accessible, people-centered, rights-based, accessible, sustainable and safe regular pathways, including key policy, operational and technical solutions that should be in place throughout the migration cycle.

So I stopped paying for spotify premium, right? And started to listen to my local music + using DAPs (digital audio players, like ipod or walkman) and I feel like I'm definitely being more intentional about my music consumption.
Before, I used to go through the vast catalog of music to find some song that would fit the theme of my playlist, and I would barely listen to the songs I discovered because I was busy skipping all of them to see if it matches the theme. I literally just searched for things by title and see if it matched the vibe and added it to my playlist if the few seconds i let it play seemed ok enough. It was definitely itching my novelty seeking brain + organize things into category brain, but i was rarely listening to any music. I was letting spotify shuffle or automatically create a mix after listening to a song that I wanted to listen to at the moment. Good for discovering new songs, I suppose, but spotify algorithm gives songs you've listened to before and liked, so what you get in the auto mix is not even that novel. I was wasting so much time just, going through songs. I feel like i have a shit ton of spotify playlists but I don't ever really go back and listen to the majority of them.
The spotify playlists I still listen to are the ones where I organized *my* music. But I can do the same thing with my existing music collection. Group them into my favorites, genre, moods, etc. without searching for random songs to pad the runtime of the playlist. When I'm adding a new song to my collection, im actively seeking it out and downloading a song, and it feels more intentional, like a commitment. It takes up a physical space on my disk that I'm allowing it to occupy. And every morning when I start work, im not mindlessly opening spotify and letting some daily mix play. I'm actively going through my selection and choosing an album to listen to in full length, and I'm rediscovering so many old favorites.
It's not that I *can't* do that on spotify. I can definitely go through my favorite albums and choose to listen to it fully. But there's too many distractions and after an album finishes, it starts playing other songs in an auto mix and it scrambles my brain back into seeking out and exploring music that I KNOW will be a timesink but ultimately yield nothing much of value. I know there's a setting to turn off autoplay but I haven't touched it because the whole point of spotify is to... do that, right? Discover and spend time on their platform. They've been adding so many random "shorts" like feature where you can "preview" songs with short clips of videos like how I was using spotify before. But seeing that feature pushed into my face, I realize what the platform was doing to me - they wanted me to spend time on it, drive their engagement scores up, etc. It was sucking my time and me into it.
Do I miss the spontaneity? Yes. Do i miss HQ audio? Yes, kinda, but my music collection has higher quality files, and the only time im missing out on quality is when I look up a song that I don't yet have in my collection. Do I miss listening to songs that are good but I don't want to download? No, cuz I can still do that. If I continue to seek it out on spotify, then it's telling me that I need to download that song because it's my favorite!
I like the pause I get after an album finishes. Because it lets me sit in silence while I reassess - do I want to stop work for a second and take a break, or do i need to continue on with this task? And pretty much all of the time, the answer is: I can stop and take a break because most albums are about an hour+ and I've been working for that long!!
I think it also gives something for "future me" to look back, because going back to see my music collection and finding throwback music ... it's always like lmaooo let's goooooo Airplane by B.O.B.!!!!! there's something about music that transports you back into time, and I don't mean the time when the song was released. Time when I first listened to that song, time when I was spending time with the person who introduced me to the song, and feelings I was going through when I was listening to that song. It's a time capsule!!! And I like leaving traces for me, unashamed, true me, things that I truly enjoyed. Instead of worrying about my spotify wrapped being cringe or my playlist being discovered by others so i feel like I have to intentionally curate my appearance. I will do whatever I want!!!!!

It's lovely when I read a book and some random paragraph in it hits me in the face like a train at mach speed
#◜✧ . ❪ muse. tobias. ❫#ask to tag#Before this I was catching up with the Doctors are Out webtoon too and atm it's an arc where an abuser#got back to his victim bc he and the authorities dgaf about upholding his restraining order like bro I GET it. I get it. I KNOW#Tobias showing up like that one surprise 'heyyy' girl meme gif bc he's the solution (<- getting rid of them Permanently): >:)#No matter where I look this guy manages to weasel his way in. I cannot escape#Now I'm thinking about how Wammy's orphans have such different perspectives on what they should do and what justice means...#to some of them (ex Near) it means catching sb legally by mostly lawful means and yeeting them into prison#to others (ex Mello) it means catching sb by any means necessary but still trying his best to avoid murder#and then to others (ex Tobias) murdering these people who he knows will escape sooner or later anyway is justice in itself#You try to put Wammy orphans down at a table to come to a collective agreement on how they should operate and they simply Cannot#Watari mildly fucked up when he made them ALL headstrong and under the belief that they're always the right one in the room#I bet any of them comes up w a cohesive plan and there's sb in the room IMMEDIATELY pointing out why that plan isn't it 😭#Obviously they'd still synch with each other if need be (ex Mello & Near) but forbid they work TOGETHER together as more than ~2 people#Tobias and Near would be such a funny duo esp. bc Near sees people resorting to murder as wrong and disgusting no matter if it's valid#meanwhile Tobias sees lawful justice as nothing but a farce because 99% of the time it does nothing besides giving a momentary#ego boost to the person who caught the criminal. and then beyond that it's no longer their business if the criminal escapes or not#but it IS very much everyone else's business; and why many live in terror daily wondering if their nightmare will return tomorrow#to be fair Tobias couldn't care less about their feelings 99% of the time either but Watari DID teach him to enact justice. and to him#getting rid of the root of the problem rather than locking it up IS justice. He perceives the problems from much closer than#other Wammy orphans ever have. He's RIGHT THERE in the middle of it whereas they're in some safe place far away from the victims#plus their backgrounds are far too different from his own to reach a consensus too... you can't make him believe prison = justice#just as you can't make them believe murder = justice. But I do think people would prefer Tobias' approach far more than idk Near's#again it's not like Tobias cares about how he's perceived by the people he saves! (or if he's even perceived at all) but I can imagine#going to sleep knowing the person/people/group/etc having it out for you no longer exists is a much more heartening sentiment than#hearing they've been sent to prison; from where they can send sb else after you or from where they can escape in due time
