16 for the ask game rook
hiiii jay :)
16. you can't understand why so many people like this thing (characterization, trope, headcanon, etc)
cracks knuckles. ok well. im trying to avoid talking abt you know who so im gonna go with this other thing that bothered me recently
clark! kent! isn't dumb! he's not a himbo hes not a well-meaning idiot. i hate when people put him in contrast w/ bruce (esp when shipping superbat) and make him out like an airhead whos entire personality revolves around making puppy eyes at the smartest person in the room (similarly when they write him like that with lois. they probably do that with shipping him w/ lex but i do not look at clex sorry)
he's got the resources and know how to be an incredible detective and inventor and problem solver. hes so clever! hes a pulitzer winner hes an investigative journalist. if you want to contrast him with bruce at least acknowledge that they're on par with each other!!!
as clark kent hes definitely a more meek and softer version of himself on purpose, because its all about redirection, but hes still clever. hes kind. hes a person who puts stock into emotions. he knows theres value in being kind and his emotions are a really good character trait in both positive and negative direction, it HUMANIZES him . but i am so so tired of people acting like "character who is kind/emotion driven = theres nothing up there"
the characterization of clark like hes got 2 braincells to rub together needs to die im so serious im so tired of it
even the newest clark in MAWS is so clearly a clever and driven character who is just Also really kind, and just a guy who has a crush on this girl, and has to try to put people off his trail. yk. like. hes not one dimensional. any good clark characterization to ME gives him the sharpness needed to do his job both as a reporter and as superman.

You gotta face it, Tiger!
When Cindy received Gwen's inter-dimensional distress signal, she answered it without a second thought, ready to fight off monsters or aliens at her friend's side. What she didn't expect was to get roped into playing a gig - with Earth-65's Mary Janes!
For @silkweek Day 4: Celebration - check the playlist for the full Spider-Women concert setlist!
Check under the cut for a teaser on this We Are Lady Parts AU!
***
"Alright," says Jess, sitting down with her coffee. "What's so important that I had to cross dimensions immediately, but is relaxed enough that we can discuss it over lattes?"
"Lattes I bought," Gwen adds, raising her finger for emphasis.
"I think I know where this is going…" Jess says, taking a sip of her drink. "Mhmmm. Yep, this tastes like an apology."
"It better be an apology for when you said you preferred the evil version of me," Cindy says, staring at Gwen over the top of her cup.
"First off, we all agreed to call her Nefarious Silk, and all I said was that she has better style than you. Which she does -- Jess agrees with me. Second, it's, uh, not about that."
Gwen takes a deep breath, and Cindy watches as she picks at the edge of her cup with her fingernail, making little crenulations in the rim as she goes. "It's more of a friendship emergency?" she starts, her eyes darting back and forth between Jess and Cindy. "MJ has a big audition tonight and Glory and Betty's flight got delayed. We don't have any backups or roadies, so I was hoping that maybe you guys could help fill in?"
"You've got to be kidding me," Cindy grumbles, and suddenly her coffee doesn't taste appetizing at all. "This is tonight? Gwen -- what the hell!"
Gwen gives her a meek smile. "It's not like it's a concert -- I just need you two to play stand-in while they're stuck out of town. I promise, I wouldn't be asking if it weren't an emergency!"
When neither Cindy nor Jess speak up, Gwen drops her forehead to the table with a dull thump and groans. "Come on, guys, you're literally our last shot."
"I thought you didn't really care about the band," Cindy shoots back. She hasn't played guitar since she left the bunker, and now the thought of picking it up again… no, she can't play tonight.
"She cares," Jess counters, flashing her 'hey, don't give me that shit' face like she does whenever Cindy and Gwen bicker. "But I don't think this is about the band. At least not all of them. Am I right?"
"You're insufferable," Gwen complains, her face hidden by her arms. "But you're right, the audition is for MJ. This could be her big break!" She takes another sip of her drink before slamming it back on the table. "Wait -- as Spider people, aren't we all sworn to help all MJs or something? Or is that a bullshit Peter rule?"
"Bullshit Peter rule," Cindy and Jess each chorus, but Jess is softer on her, and adds, "but since it's your MJ…"

Hey it's me, i dont know if you remember the ask i did about Charlottes little brother dating mereoleona. But i wanted kinda a different version of that
How would Yami act if he had a shy little brother, and how would he react to said brother dating mereleona
Hello~! ^_^
I do remember actually. I don't get that many Mereo asks sadly ^^;
So, glad to see you again, and I do hope that you like this! ^_^
Genre: slice of life (?)
Warnings: none
Tumblr media
Yami had always had, by his own words, a healthy amount of respect for Mereoleona (read: has been afraid of her). So, when Yami heard his baby brother mention that he was dating Mereo… he almost choked on his drink.
Actually, he wondered if Noelle had been cooking that morning’s breakfast with Charmy, and perhaps had accidentally slipped in some poisonous, hallucinogenic mushrooms. But. Noelle had been nowhere near the kitchen, so he had to believe his brother to be telling the truth.
The next thing he thought was that his brother was telling the truth, or what he perceived as the truth. After all, he could have been hit on the head. Probably by Luck or Magna. Either that or magic. It could be magic. Though he didn’t sense anything out of place.
Easiest way to start figuring it out was to ask questions such as ‘how did it come to be?”. Asking about how they met was pointless in comparison, given how the Magic Knight circles were relatively small after all. Or well, their circles were small.
And his meek, soft, shy baby brother told him about how he was training in the castle courtyard one day, and how she had told him that he had no place in proper battle. “Yeah yeah, not the best beginning for a love story,” he had commented. But. It had sparked a conversation. And that conversation had, in the course of the weeks and months that followed, sparked something more.
Mereo had told him that, though he was shy, he never gave up. He wasn’t loud and boisterous, but he… had apparently had something in him that she appreciated. And he… he admired her for being so frank, and brave in the ways that he wasn’t.
His explanation also answered the second question Yami would have had. But he’d still need to see it with his own eyes. The fierce lioness, being affectionate. Or at least softer than he knew.
He’d still need to see it. He’d need to feel their ki together. He would be sceptical, but one thing was certain. He’d never think of his brother to be less courageous than he was.

My Top 10 Favorite Ducktales Characters
…………………………………………………….
Tumblr media
NO. 10 Hewey Duck
At number 10 is Huey!
Hewey has been my least favorite triplet for most of the series; it by no means he’s a bad character or any of the sorts, Huey is more down to earth compared to other characters. It’s hard to say much about Hewey other than how he’s a sweet, fun character I’m glad is around.
His development in season three was good, though the weakest of the three. Kinda half-baked and rushed, as if the creators thought, “we have to add some Huey development since this is his season.” With Dewey and Louie’s, it felt like their respective seasons revolved around them instead of the other way around. The only episode I really think perfectly gave Huey development and at the same time move the main plot forward fluidly was the “Challenge of the Senior Junior Woodchucks!” with the whole Huey vs. Violet rivalry. Y’know what also sucks. Huey wasn’t even that integral to the finale. That annoys me to no end.
Now, I’m going to end this with positive notes.
What got Huey into the list was his sweet nature and how integral he is to the team’s balance. Every team needs someone who represents order and Huey is just that. Plus, his innocent love for romance is so cute. I love the episode where him and Webby were setting a date up for Fenton and Gandra.
Tumblr media
NO. 9 Scrooge McDuck
Scrooge is probably the most interesting protagonist I’ve ever watched. Unlike most of them, he’s more of an anti-hero than a pure hero like Steven Universe or Luz from Owl House.
I don’t really have much to say about him because I don’t love him as much as the characters above him. He probably has the best development- Lena’s rivaling his really well. In the beginning, Scrooge was a grumpy miser but now, thanks to the kids, his heart is softer and more open. His cheapness is annoying, but the good qualities overthrow the bad.
Scrooge most likely would’ve been higher in the list if “The Life & Crimes of Scrooge McDuck” didn’t happen- or at least occurred in season two instead since humility and hard work was the main theme. The writers went overboard showing the audience how bad of a person Scrooge was in the past, especially with him taking advantage of the poor villagers and leaving them in their states-without even helping them. This episode downgraded Scrooge pretty badly.
Tumblr media
NO. 8 Donald Duck
Although on the lower half of the list, I still hold so much love and respect for this version of Donald. He’s such a massive improvement from his previous iteration. The creators made him kind and strong-willed but kept his anger issues. Though, they turned that flaw into a more comedic and positive aspect of Donald since he uses that intense anger to protect his family. Speaking of that, his relationship with the triplets is absolutely adorable. He loves and protects them like a great father, and I’m still a bit peeved that characters didn’t acknowledge that more. Instead, their relationship was sidelined and pretty much haphazardly... replaced-I don’t know if that’s the right word- with May and June.
Another thing that annoyed me was Donald’s voice treatment. The creators pretty much portrayed his speaking problem as a joke, which is terrible. I hope to goodness that children with speaking troubles don’t take those “jokes” to heart because there is nothing wrong with having a different voice. It’s also surprising how much characters mostly don’t understand him when I can seventy percent of the time. This complaint is more towards season one since that was the season where most of the jokes happened.
Anyways, I hope this Donald will start a new beginning for the next iterations of him. A nice guy who has anger issues but means well. Same with him and Daisy’s relationship-another massive improvement the writers did. They are such a great couple from the episodes we got with them and this dynamic should continue.
Tumblr media
NO. 7 Webby Vanderquack
Another character who was massively improved was the great Webby Vanderquack!
In the original series, she was a boring damsel-in-distress with no personality-pretty much like the earliest Disney princesses. The ‘17 creators did such a great job molding reboot Webby into a character who can kill you with kindness or impressive fighting skills. This pink-loving queen is probably the sweetest character I’ve ever met; I just want to hug her.
I love her optimism and caring personality. She was able to change Lena for the better and not give up on her when almost everyone did. Webby is the best friend you can have.
While I’m not fully on board with the Webby finale twist, I really liked how her interest in the McDucks played some big part of the finale. Do I wish it was in different circumstances? Yes, but I’m still glad Webby got an important moment for herself. That interrogation scene was very emotional; seeing Beakley fully breakdown like she did was shocking and really set the mood of how pivotal that moment. I literally almost cried seeing Webby so heartbroken by her grandmother’s lies- this pink baby deserves all the love in the world. At least she found out the truth and gained a parental figure in her life.
Tumblr media
NO. 6 Louie Duck
I’ve gotta admit; I did not like Louie that much at the start of the show. Greedy and selfish characters usually don’t get my love, but season two changed. A lot more depth was added to him such as his insecurities and anxieties. I struggle with these issues and it was nice to see a character show that as well. One of my favorite arcs was Louie’s trouble connecting with Della; it was realistic and not rushed. While watching this season, I was often having trouble connecting with people, even old friends. Sort of having someone experiencing them alongside me made me feel less insecure and lonely.
His development was really good too, from beginning to end. At first, Louie was someone who was willing to execute every angle no matter how much it could hurt his loved ones. Yet, he grew to be a humbler person who now knows the consequences of his angles. A favorite episode of mine is “The Richest Duck in the World” because of this development. Seeing Louie clean the Bombei’s shoes with Scrooge made my heart melt.
What lowered him down to number eight was season three. There were a few episodes that backtracked Louie’s development like “The Trickening” and “The Fight for Castle McDuck” episodes. He was a real jerk towards Huey for no reason. It frustrated me enough to affect this list. And I also prefer other characters more.
Tumblr media
NO. 5 Fenton Crackshell-Cabrera
You can’t expect me to not put this quirky and adorable dork in the top five! He’s one of the best boys in the show. Him being voiced by the great Lin-Manuel Miranda does add some bonus points- you can tell I’m a big Hamilton fan.
Like Webby, Fenton was drastically improved. He became this sweet, scatterbrained scientist who only wants to help people. I instantly fell in love with him. And it got even better when Fenton became Gizmoduck- my second favorite DT hero. He deserved so much more screen time, especially in season 3; “Beaks in the Shell” was not a good enough episode for Fenton and his relationship with Gandra. There should’ve been more. The finale moments he had was not satisfying enough, particularly him and DW sort of team up. It was rushed.
If a Darkwing Duck reboot takes place in the ’17 universe then Fenton must be a major character- at least show up in ten episodes a season. A Gizmoduck and Darkwing crossover is essential, and I will riot if it that doesn’t happen. And more Fandra, my fifth -maybe fourth- favorite ship.
I also had a big crush on Fenton back in season one. You can’t help but love him this sweety pie. This pretty much influenced thirty percent of his placement.
Tumblr media
NO. 4 Launchpad McQuack
This muscular dummy is amazing! He brings a sense of comedy and light to every episode he is in. It’s infectious as h*ll!
I liked Launchpad instantly. He’s kind and wants the best for people. Optimistic characters are almost the best characters. They are great reminders of how there are still many good people in the world. Whenever I’m down and watch Ducktales, LP makes me feel a lot better with his dumb yet endearing moments. My favorite jokes are literally LP sending Beakley an invitation saying not to come and when he tried to make small talk with Gosalyn at the window; I can never stop laughing at those moments.
There are times when Launchpad’s dumbness irks me, but his good qualities overthrow that. Though, I wish he wasn’t used too much as comedy relief; LP had the potential to gain more development than what he got. I’ll give an example. Learning about his family would’ve been great to know- an appearance wouldn’t have hurt either. It could’ve opened a reason to why LP cares about Scrooge’s opinion and cares about him like a dad. Maybe there’s some bitterness in LP’s relationship with his dad and that’s why he doesn’t talk about his parents. Loopey not being introduced was a missed opportunity. Big brother Launchpad is all I need.
I also have a small crush on Launchpad, though mostly for his personality and voice. He’s still cute *wink.*
Tumblr media
NO. 3 Drake Mallard
We made it to the top three! With the dashing caped crusader Darkwing Duck starting us off!
It’s funny how much I love a character who’s only appeared in like five-maybe six- episodes enough to put him in the top three. I had some trouble defining many reasons why I love him; it’s this weird connection I have with DW. He’s this dorky dummy who loved a big part of his childhood enough to make it his reality, yet I love him so much.
I think what made me fall in love with him was how similar we are. Like him, I was a meek person who got pushed a few times- either physically or mentally. Those times also inspired me to grow stronger and be an inspiration for the next generation. I can be pretty clumsy too(lol). Characters I see myself in are usually really high in my love list and it shouldn’t be surprising that Drake is one of them.
His kind and genuine nature was also what drew me in. And, I just made this realization, this is the first time I don’t prefer the original iteration over the latest one. I still love ‘91 Drake but he’s too arrogant.
Unlike the original DW, Drake became a hero to help others- though a wish for glory played a bit of a part too. This clumsy, stuttering actor took a step to become his hero and a future one for children like him. That’s admirable. His lovable personality also being so cute enough for me to want to give a big hug is a good addition.
Tumblr media
NO. 2 Lena Sabrewing
Hands down Lena had the best development!
She started off as this distant loner who followed the gray area of morality. Now, Lena is a part of this loving family and her own person. A few of her episodes are my favorites, such as “Friendship Hates Magic!” and “A Nightmare on Killmotor Hill.” They are well-written episodes and hit me in the feels.
Like Louie and Drake, I see myself in Lena. There are times I’ve been afraid I’ll take on my family’s bad habits or turn like them. That’s why I love “A Nightmare on Killmotor Hill!” Watching Lena try to be good enough and feeling insecure reminded me of the dark times I usually think about. There are even times I have dreams of these issues. The creators must have been inspired by me (lol). Though, I am kind of jealous of Lena because of how great her friends are. I want friends like Webby and Violet.
Even so, I do have some issues with Lena. Her magic arc was not written as well as her previous arcs. This might be more of a personal opinion than anything, but I’m still going to say it. Lena learned to control her magic too quickly, and it was treated as more like a plot device. And a shaking one at that. For example, in “The Split Sword of Swanstantine” Lena was able to stop time and send her and Huey into his mindscape. But, somehow, she couldn’t conjure a burst of energy to attack Steelbeak; granted, Huey mentioned that, yet Lena’s reasoning was dumb. Attacking someone with magic is way easier than doing what she did. I’m a little lenient on this since that idea lead to more Huey development, though I’m still going to critique it.
A great thing about Lena learning was her temporary outfit change. She looks absolutely amazing in light colors, which I didn’t expect, and her hair design is what I saw she would look good in. The eye shape is kind of weird.
Lena’s magic mode is in my list of cosplays.
Tumblr media
NO. 1 Dewey Duck
Finally, number one is Dewey Duck!
Dewey has stolen my heart since the beginning. His positivity and fun nature always make me smile, even during the toughest times.
In my opinion, Dewey has the best arc/development of the triplets. His arc trying to find out what happened to his mother was what kept me watching Ducktales and helped me see why this show is so special. Many of my favorite moments are in season one, specifically ones involving Dewey. For instance, the scene in “The Last Crash of the Sunchaser!” where Dewey was willing to risk his life to get the last piece of paper and possibly solve what happened to Della was emotional. Hearing the desperation in his voice while pleading with Scrooge to tell him what happened hit me hard. I can’t imagine how much pain HDL have gone through not knowing what happened and thinking they aren’t allowed to ask. It would be terrible to experience.
Another moment I loved was in “The Spear of Selene.” It was when Dewey was hesitant to know what happened as the possibility that Della was a bad person grew more prominent. He looked so defeated admitting that realization and it reminded me of myself. There were moments when I realized that my parents were not as good as I thought. It hurt me a lot. At least sweet Dewey didn’t have to go through that. The scene when Dewey started tearing up seeing his mom in the sphere was also heartwarming. I wanted to give him the biggest hug.
Dewey’s insecurities of not being good enough and to be loved is what I struggle with too. Its kind of different because I have trouble believing anyone loves me while he wants everybody to like him. Confidence is not my forte.

Don’t Blame it on the Kids
Drabble #1
Story here
Summery: Shouta learns what the hell is happening after Izuku finally wakes up. Drabble.
Characters: Shouta Aizawa (Eraserhead), Izuku Midoriya, Enji Todoroki (Endeavor), All Might, Shoot Todoroki, Katski Bakugou, Hizashi Yamada (Present Mic)
MANGA SPOILERS: ch. 303 (well past season 4 of the anime)
TW: mention/referenced abuse, mention/reference character death, canon-typical violence, PTSD, amputation, hospitals, panic/anxiety
Aizawa is in pain from a foot he doesn’t even have anymore, his face throbs against the bandages and he’s tired as all hell even after all the sleep he’s gotten but the kid is finally awake and All Might asked him personally to come. So he was going.
He owed his life to Midoriya. It was a proud fact he hated, because he didn’t need to owe his life to these students. He needed to protect them and yet Midoriya, Bakugou and Todoroki had been too valuable in the fight. His heart was full of pride as his stress spiked. They deserved to be students, not heroes. Not yet.
Mic opens the door for him, helping him through the threshold of the hospital suit. Midoriya was awake, his head bandaged and his limbs completely wrapped. He looked like a mini version of Aizawa after the USJ. It wasn’t a funny thought.
All Might is helping Midoriya with some water, gently holding the back of the boy’s head to help him sit up as the boy takes a long drink from a straw. The tenderness from the old, frail retired hero was at least relaxing. At least there was someone there for the boy. Aizawa didn’t know the whereabouts of his mother. He hadn’t been hearing much in terms of news.
The worst case scenario is losing my teacher!
“Aizawa,” All Might says, a nod in acknowledgement. Aizawa tries to return one as Mic helps him into a chair on the edge of the room.
“So I hear there’s going to be a party,” Mic says, his voice significantly softer than it normally is. He’s pointing finger guns at Midoriya who, for as tired as he looks, smiles.
“And you’re not invited,” a gruff, hoarse voice says from the door. Endeavor pushes into the room like a bulldog. He’s breathing heavy and is bandaged as the rest of them but he’s standing on his own.
“Every party needs a DJ,” Mic tries but the glare from Endeavor and the sad look on All Might’s face say it all. He needs to leave. Aizawa levels Mic with a I’ll let you know later stare and the DJ hero sighs. “Alright, alright. I know when I’m not wanted. Take care of Shouta for me.”
He leaves the room with a whistle and a wave and the silence that sets in is heavy. Endeavor closes the door.
“Now,” Endeavor says. He looks exhausted but, from what Aizawa has seen and heard from the news, he looks more like a hero than he has in a while. “Why was he after you?” He points a leveled stare at young Midoriya so heavy, Aizawa sees the kid sink into his bed. “What’s One For All?”
So this was what the meeting was going to be about. The battle, still playing on the back of Aizawa’s eyelids every time he closes them, is strange to say the least. He can’t get the images out of his head. He wonders if he’ll always be able to recall the entire event until his knock-out in vivid detail for the rest of his life.
That includes Midoriya. He’s seen the black tendrils from the kid in training. They don’t make sense, but he’s seen them before. What doesn’t make sense is flying. He remembers floating. He remembers seeing Deku fight, in midair, with the black tentacles and his superstrength. He wasn’t conscious the whole time. He couldn’t reactivate his quirk. But he remembers it.
It doesn’t make sense. None of it. Not Midoriya’s multiple powers, not how Shigiraki knew about them, not how Midoriya knew Shigiaraki knew about them and was aiming for him.
The boy looks so small in the hospital bed, his expression nervous and meek, nothing at all like the rage Aizawa saw on the battlefield.
“I-it’s-” Midoriya tries to speak but All Might stands.
“It’s the name of my quirk,” he says. Midoriya looks up at All Might, with a trust Aizawa hasn’t seen the boy express to anyone else. “It’s a transferable quirk that can be passed from one holder to the next, compiling the quirks of its users.”
A quirk that can be passed down-
Aizawa watches Midoriya and the boy isn’t surprised. He’s not anything but relieved.
The room falls into silence again, as Endeavor regards the retired hero and then turns to the boy on the bed.
“You have All Might’s quirk.”
The boy doesn’t look at anyone, just at his bed sheets and nods. Aizawa hears Endeavor curse.
“Of course that’s what it would be…” Endeavor says to himself, as if coming to realize that for all his fighting, he was never going to match a quirk that encompassed multiple quirks.
And really, it made sense, didn’t it? All Might’s quirk was never revealed, no one had ever really gotten a straight answer from him. How did All Might stay the number one hero, someone that literally changed the way heroes and crime operated, on a single quirk alone?
After learning about All For One, and the ability to steal quirks… really, they should’ve expected this. If someone could steal a quirk, if someone could manufacture monsters out of dead bodies and force quirks on them, why wouldn’t there be another user out there like that?
All Might is talking again, explaining All For One and the connection between Midoriya, the current holder of All Might’s quirk, and the century-old villain.
And Aizawa feels something break. It’s not like snapping a bone in half, but Aizawa can’t find another way to describe it. It’s a white-hot pain in the pit of his stomach. He could scream.
This kid, this fifteen-year-old, is being hunted by the world’s most powerful and dangerous villain.
Aizawa doesn’t hear anything but static for a few moments. When he finally fights his way back to the present, thankful for the throbbing in his head to help him, he doesn’t know how much of the story he’s missed. He’s watching Midoriya who, for the life of this kid, doesn’t look scared.
No. Midoriya is answering questions, explaining something - one of his powers, Aizawa realizes by the expression on the kid’s face - and he looks completely resigned to this knowledge. A smile tugs on the edge of his lip as he tries to explain blackwhip to Endeavor, the same way it does when he’s explaining something to a classmate. He can’t move his limbs, but his head bobbles back and forth, as if the need to express his words is so ingrained, his body will move anything it can.
All Might’s hand hasn’t left Midoriya’s bandaged one, but he’s returned to sitting. He lets the boy talk, and there’s a sadness there that weighs on his shoulders. Even as he brings a tissue to his mouth to cough, he takes an extra moment with his eyes closed, as if begging for forgiveness.
Aizawa sees all this, because he’s been trained to. He’s been trained to look. He’s been looking at Midoriya all year and yet this is the first time he’s seen the boy.
“How long?”
Everyone turns to look at Aizawa. It’s the first time he’s spoken and even to him, his voice is too rough. He stares at Midoriya, hoping he finally gets the truth from his student.
“How long have you had this quirk?”
“Oh, uh,” Midoriya’s eyes dart to the bed, then to All Might - again asking for permission - then to Endeavor - but not his face - and finally back to Aizawa’s gaze. “About a year?”
“When?”
The boy ducks his head again, like he’s ashamed. All Might pats his hand in comfort.
“The entrance exam.”
This kid.
“The day of?”
Midoriya nods. “About two hours before?” It’s a question, a deflection, like he’s scared it’s the wrong answer even though it’s the truth. All Might’s face confirms it.
“I had to train him before he could take it,” All Might explains, more to Endeavor than Aizawa. He has a feeling All Might will be avoiding him until they’re alone. Maybe even after that.
“Naturally,” Endeavor says, but it’s laced with malice. “How long was the boy’s training.”
“Ten months,” Midoriya says and Aizawa tries not to think about how he’s not nervous to answer the current Number One hero like he is his own home room teacher. He can deal with that later. It’s not the kid’s fault if he doesn’t trust Aizawa. It’s something Aizawa did, something he’ll have to correct.
“Pathetic,” Endeavor says and while Midoriya flinches, All Might doesn’t falter. “You should’ve come to me sooner, boy.”
“We couldn’t risk it getting out,” All Might says. “It’s too dangerous for the public to know. But after the battle-”
“You couldn’t keep it from me any longer,” Endeavor finishes. There’s an edge to his tone. The assertion of why All Might was keeping Endeavor from the secret this whole time. All Might didn’t trust him, even after becoming the number one hero. All Might didn’t trust him, even now. Not enough to willingly give up the information.
“There’s going to be a hard battle ahead,” All Might says. “With All for One free, I’m afraid it’s only going to get worse.”
Aizawa agrees with that and he hates how useless he feels about it.
Endeavor checks the clock on the wall for the time and turns.
“I have to meet with my son,” he says, “but this isn’t over, All Might.” It’s a threat made less hostile by the way the hero’s body bends and struggles to push open the door.
He’s sure Mic will come zipping in but when he doesn’t, Aizawa watches Midoriya and All Might exchange some silent exchange.
“Why tell me?” he asks, despite himself.
Midoriya whips his head to him so suddenly it hurts Aizawa to see.
“What? What do you mean?”
“I was taken out before the big show,” Aizawa says. At least, that’s what he was told. And while he remembers flying, he doesn’t have anything to prove Midoriya wasn’t just using the quirk he developed in class. “I already knew about blackwhip. You said it was the same quirk. So why tell me now?”
Midoriya looks… hurt. He sinks into himself, the way Aizawa has seen him do when confronted in class and he hates that he makes the kid react that way.
“Because you’re my teacher,” he says to the bed. “I knew we’d have to tell Endeavor because he was there and he would demand answers but that wasn’t…”
“What?”
He looks up, eyes wet.
“You deserved to know more than he did.”
Shouta doesn’t know how to react to that. This is the kid that literally jumped in front of a psychotic manic for the sake of his teacher. But also the kid that never once thought to tell him before this about his quirk.
Aizawa understands it, he does. He knows why All Might kept it secret. He knows why All Might didn’t tell Aizawa, they were basically strangers until this year. He knows why Midoriya kept it secret too.
Shouta gets it.
It doesn’t help.
He’s failed the kid. In so many ways, he goes dizzy trying to list them all.
Aizawa pushes himself out of the chair up to his good leg with the help of his crutch. All Might is starting towards him, trying to help, but Aizawa ignores him as he approaches the bed.
Midoriya watches him, his face becoming more and more upset. No doubt Shouta looks bad and he’s sorry the kid has to see him this way. But he reaches out anyway, placing his hand on the boy’s head. His fingers rest between green curls. They’re tangled and still dirty. He looks down at the boy.
“Thanks, kid,” he says with as much expression he can muster with half his face bandaged. He knows he’s emotionally constipated, as Mic puts it, but he owes the kid.
Midoriya is full on crying now but he breaks into a smile that would put All Might to shame.

I need to reread both “Pride and Prejudice” and “Little Women” in full
I didn’t want to reread them in digital format, I wanted to hold the books in my hands and reread them the old fashioned way. But since I don’t own physical copies of either and the libraries are closed, I just might have to give in and read the digital versions.
I just keep thinking about the study guides to those books available online for students (SparkNotes, Cliffsnotes, Shmoop, etc.) and their “feminist” disparaging of the softer, sweeter sisters in both books.
For example, Shmoop’s whole suggestion of “Jane Bennet is boring and her shyness and reserve nearly cost her the man she loves, so Austen is saying don’t be like Jane, be like Lizzy.”
Or SparkNotes’ “Beth March needs to die because she’s not strong enough to survive and she represents an outdated model of meek womanhood that needs to go,” which I’ve complained about before.
I understand where they’re coming from, but still... how are those of us who are naturally closer in temperament to Jane or Beth than to Lizzy or Jo supposed to feel about all that? As I’ve written before, that Beth analysis is especially galling when you think of her as showing possible signs of autism and/or a social anxiety disorder.
I need to reread both books in their entirety so I can firmly argue against those interpretations, or at least argue that they're too simplistic, while feeling certain that I’ve misremembered nothing.

Working Too Hard (Team Minato version)
Inspired by Gakkou Gurashi, also known as School Live in the West, the moe-zombie show I can somehow watch without being scared. Somehow.
A sacrificial lamb in the show being named Kei, though, made me a bit unhappy. So, fluff seemed about right to cure that. And thankfully, the Narutoverse doesn’t have a zombie-equivalent aside from Edo Tensei, and even that seems mild compared to zombie apocalypses.
Heavily based on an idea I originally pitched to @langwrites. The rain outside the library accompanies the mood of this rather nicely, I think. And since I cited Gakkou Gurashi as the inspiration for this oneshot thingie, why not use a theme from it too?
Takes place in the S&S verse as always.
---------------------------------------
“Kei, don’t you think we should let her sleep?”
Who…?
“Normally, I’d agree with you. But a dinner chair is not exactly comfortable, Obito. She’s gotta get up.”
Something was poking me. Something pointy, yet warm. The darkness was slowly ebbing away in favor of soft light, and it took a moment for the urge to blink to set in.
“…Muu?” A yawn left my lips before my vision kicked back into full gear. The poking was still there, persistent and a bit Ow, but the amount had lessened, as if the person just realized I was coming back. “Who hit the timer…”
The poking turned into two fingers reaching over to pinch my right cheek. “Wakey wakey, Tomo-chan.”
“Mugu…” Without thinking, I reached up to bat at the pincers holding my face, covering another yawn with my other hand. Slowly blinking my eyes was enough to get any dust out of my vision. The teasing black eyes staring back at me merely confirmed whose hands I just batted away. “Good morning, Kei-chan…”
“Good afternoon, Tomo.” A chuckle left Kei’s lips as she reached over to hold my shoulders in a side-hug. When did it become afternoon? “What have you been doing, snoozing away on a free day?”
“Baking…” Another yawn left my throat before I could think about it. The remaining dust was feeling itchy too, so I reached up with my free hand to wipe it away from my eyes. “There’s muffins in the oven, cooling. Chocolate chip.” What was I doing again before that…?
Maybe—
A yawn cut through any thought Hisako could voice and I rubbed my eyes again. “I’m sorry, I’m just feeling tired…”
The presence of someone else quickly became apparent once a palm was resting against my forehead, pushing my bangs back. “No fever, but still a little warm,” Obi’s voice confirmed, sounding a lot more quiet than his usual tone. The hand on my head still brushed my hair, patting my head. “Is that all you did, Tomo-chan?”
“Muuuuu, why does this feel like an interrogation…?”
Kei laughed again. “Considering we just came home to find you sleeping on your muffins, Tomo, it’s natural we’d be worried. We have questions.”
“Yeah! What Kei said!” With a fwhish of air, it felt like Obi had done a fist pump of sorts, accentuated by his yelling of the words, but he quickly subsided once one of Kei’s hands moved. Was there… a whack? “Whoops. Sorry, Tomo-chan.”
Oh. So there was a whack.
The hand on my head merely moved down to my back, patting it. “Want to go to bed, Tomo-chan? Kei and I can go.”
“Noooooo…” It didn’t take much energy to turn around and properly latch onto my friend’s waist in a hug. Even when my muscles felt weak, even when my vision was flickering in and out of reality, I knew I didn’t want that. I didn’t want to be alone. “You and Kei-chan just came home. I can’t be sleepy now…!”
Obi was warm, snuggly, and alive. Sure, he had stiffened up like a tree from my grip, but he was still alive.
I squeezed him tighter and shook my head. “Don’t go yet…!”
Don’t leave me!
Another hand was patting my head. “Tomo, even if you sleep, it’s not like we’ll be gone forever,” Kei said, softer this time. “We’ll come back.”
“But there’s muffins and cake and a lot of other things I could make for you…” So many things, so little time. Why were my eyes so heavy? “You came back okay from the front again, so the least I could do now is play something on the piano to—”
Someone was hugging me back. Obi?
“Tomo-chan…” There was a small choking noise above my head, but my face was too squished into my friend’s front to really tell if it was him or not. I could only guess that it was from the proximity. “You don’t have to. Even if we go, even if we don’t see you immediately, you don’t have to push yourself. W-We’ll always come back. Promise.”
The words settled into my mind enough for my grip to fade a little. A hand was brushing my hair again, making my voice come out meek and weak. “Promise…?”
“Cross my heart, hope to—” Obito paused, stiffening before moving on with a forced, “not die, stick a thousand needles in my eye!”
“No needles please,” I said immediately into his mesh shirt.
“Agreed,” Kei added. Her hand was easy to make out even in the sleepy haze, gently tugging at my shoulder to let Obi go. “Now c’mon, sleepyhead, to bed with you.”
“Muuu…” It was hard to ignore the pull of exhaustion as my eyes slowly closed to half-mast, my hands barely staying up to rub at my eyes again once Obi was out of reach. “Neh, Kei-chan…?”
A familiar plush was staring up at me from the corner of my fading vision as someone slowly pulled me to my feet, a blue-sleeve covered hand reaching over to push said plush towards me. Blake. Pretty kitty with her big purple bow.
It took whatever strength I had remaining to hold her in my right hand, leaving me to be tugged along to wherever else with my left hand, barely walking if not for Kei clearly guiding me. Her response too, came from in front as my feet slowly dragged along the tile of home. “What is it, Tomo?”
“Will you…” A yawn left my lips and Blake the plush cat seemed warmer, bigger even, when I hugged her. “Will you take the muffins out of the oven for me…?”
The hand tugging on my limp left one tensed, just slightly, before tightening its grip. The thumb was rubbing the back of my palm. “Of course I will.”
“Thankie…” It felt harder just keeping my head up. “And, Kei…?”
“Yeah?”
“Could you…” Another yawn cut me off. Why is it so hard to stay awake… “Could you and Obi tell me how they taste once I wake up…?”
The click of a door barely rang through my ears as the hand tugging on my left one continued leading me somewhere. It took a minute for me to realize the hand was soon gone and my left hand was being covered by a blanket. When did I—
“Don’t worry, Tomo-chan.” The blanket was covering more than my left hand now and I could feel it brush my chin. “I’ll make sure Kei doesn’t forget.”
“Yep.” A hand gently covered my eyes. “We’ll tell you all the details once you wake up, Tomo. Now get some rest.”
“Okay…” My eyes closed without me thinking, the darkness slowly coming back. Wait… not yet… “Love you, Kei… love you, Obi…”
I didn’t get to hear their replies once sleep took over.

How the warlords react to finding out MC is a woman
Nobunaga:
Walked in on you changing after a sparring match with him by accident
His mind went blank
One of his vassals is a woman masquerading a man and had got away with it for so long?
Now he really needs to find out how you fight
Makes you a princess in the middle of a war council and tells everyone that you are a woman, but as his vassal, he will also decide what you can and can't do
he loves that you actively glare at him for giving you the title and outing you to them all
Mostly because you don't hesitate to put any man in their place when they try to suggest that you should be wearing kimonos and looking pretty as an Oda Princess
Hideyoshi was definitely on the receiving end of this treatment a few times before Nobunaga addressed it with him
Mitsuhide is suddenly very interested in you and you find that you're going to be working on undercover and sabotage missions with the kitsune more often since no one ever suspects a woman
Hideyoshi:
How did a woman get this close to Lord Nobunaga?
He assumes you're going to seduce Nobunaga now
Gets the shock of his life when you pull him down by the collar and kiss him hard
Has to have it spelt out for him that you had no intentions of seducing Nobunaga or any of the warlords but just wanted to protect you and your family
Nobunaga will know before you can do anything else, his body will be on automation to tell his Lord
Everyone finds out over the course of the next few days, and you are forced into kimonos by the vassal
You end up teaming up with Nobunaga to screw with Hideyoshi's head and you're forever stealing the warlords' clothing until he is given the order to let you do what you want as Oda's vassal
Masamune:
Your clothing was torn during some training with him and gave the binding away
His mind went in two different directions:
His flirtatious persona immediately surfaced
Genuine awe at the fact that a woman had been able to fight on par with a warlord
Once the realisation sank in, he grabbed his cloak and wrapped it around you before anyone else worked out what had happened
Wanted to know the full story so insisted that you get changed and then come over to his manor so he could feed you and find out more in exchange he would keep quiet about your gender
Since you are technically Masamune's vassal, then he chooses to keep it a secret on the basis that you move into his manor so he can ensure that no one finds out by accident whilst also looking out for you
Can't promise that he won't flirt with you when you're alone
Ieyasu:
You were injured on the battlefield, and when Ieyasu treated the wound, he uncovered your secret
He was mystified that a woman was able to fight so well, they were meant to be meek and obedient, yet you were well known for arguing back with Hideyoshi regarding decisions made by Nobunaga
Narrowly avoided a slap as you came to consciousness because he spent so long processing the information
Runs off to tell Nobunaga and Hideyoshi that you're a woman and shouldn't you be better off elsewhere that's not fighting?
He doesn't understand why you're so angry to start with that you're made to be a woman
Then he realises how rubbish you are at the things that women do in the castle
You've also taken to stealing his clothes in revenge for outing you, so he never seems to have anything to wear much to the confusion of all the staff
Shakes his head as Nobunaga puts you out of your misery and retains you as a vassal, and then gets made into your tutor so you can keep learning how to be useful on the battlefield
Mitsunari:
He was confused as to why you were yelling at him for walking in on you changing
Then his eyes dropped slightly
He asked why you had those bindings over your chest before the information caught up with him
He was flustered and very apologetic, but the noise had already attracted the attention of Hideyoshi who was looking for his vassal
You were outed straight away in the middle of a war council and forced into a kimono by Hideyoshi whilst Mitsunari was still apologising
He then comments that you are too pretty to try and hide behind men's clothing and you look like a princess when you dress in those kimonos which fluster you so much that you don't know what to do
Mitsuhide:
He suspected something was amiss from the start
He was constantly trying to catch you off-guard
He wasn't quite expecting to find out you were a woman when he purposely barged into your room whilst you were changing
Promised to keep it a secret from the others as it would amuse him greatly when it came to light
Was actually a complete gentleman about bursting in on you and gave you the privacy required to finish dressing at the very least
He would keep dragging you with him on missions, you were an expert at hiding in plain sight now even if you did keep complaining about kimonos when you wore them
He enjoyed kissing you without warning a little too much regardless of what you were wearing as well, and then casually dropping a comment about keeping secrets
Kenshin:
He was adamantly denying the obvious when Shingen caught you bathing
You could drink and fight nearly as well as he could, you were a man
You were furious at Shingen, and then Kenshin took a closer look at you
The slightest curves that you had hidden well up to this point, why the seamstresses were forever adjusting your clothing and making things for you
Shingen was teasing him constantly, but he announced that you were his vassal, and no one was to treat you any differently
He suddenly became very interested in you and wanted to know all of the details behind your act and reasoning, whilst drinking sake of course
Secretly, he is very impressed that you hid the obvious for so long and is already mentally enrolling you into ninja training and spying for him
Shingen:
You were bathing and he thought he would play a prank
Absolutely stunned that such a beauty had been able to parade as a man
the flirt in him comes out the second he sees your real gender
He doesn't doubt your abilities and asks if you want to join his kunoichi
Then asks if you'd like to join him in his futon
He isn't that surprised that you draw a sword on him as a reaction
You do decide to join the kunoichi, and he does then soon learn to stop flirting with you once Sasuke has taken to teaching you various ninja techniques as well
Yukimura:
You were injured whilst fighting alongside him as one of Shingen's vassals
He was in shock
You definitely didn't act like any woman he knew
You were basically a shorter and angrier version of Kenshin from what he knew of you
The binding was split by someone's sword in a weak point in your armour
You kept trying to fight as well even when it became apparent
Cannot get his head around you
Shingen forces you into kimonos for his humour, then you have to be stopped from killing him by Yukimura
He's forced to compliment you and say you look cute and that as a woman you aren't that bad of a one
Leaves you both bright red in the face and Shingen is roaring with laughter
Sasuke:
Sasuke.exe stopped working when your outfit was torn during a mission
The other ninjas were staring nearly as much as well, and you were not graceful about it, choosing to make sure that you could escape before the enemy caught you all
Kenshin was impressed and wanted to know how you kept it so secret for so long, and wouldn't let Shingen recruit you away from him
Though he was adjusting your role slightly now
Sasuke was feeling quite protective of you since you both came from the future, though your modern attitude was going strong that you didn't need any help from a man just because of your gender
He learnt quickly to sit back and watch you put every man in their place when they went softer towards you because you were now officially outed as a woman
He kept making comments about needing some popcorn and you would both start making references that no one else understood
Definitely makes the effort to not treat you any differently at least

Adimyos, Land of Greenery and Giants Ch. 1
This is technically Chapter 2, but I’m treating the first post as just a prologue.  That post is >>>here<<< This is not where you want to be if you want realistic stuffing and more moderate size/weight gain.  This is a story about royalty, Big Fats, and serious musclechub, plus fantasy elements. There’s gonna be sort of kind of an actual plot coming up soon, just with a lot of obviously kinky stuff thrown in. As before, there’s a Google Docs version >>>here<<< if you don’t wanna deal with reading something long on tunglr.hell.  From now on, this will link to a folder containing all currently available chapters of Adimyos.
Tanos woke up one morning in a huge, extravagant bedroom with mostly white walls and a large, very sturdy balcony with sliding glass doors that let in a great deal of light.  He had a soft, luxurious, expansive bed that seemed rather awkwardly enormous for just him, as he’d been expected to grow into it.  He was only wearing loose, puffy white pants, with bare feet and no shirt.  He stretched, rolled to the outer edge of his bed, and sat up, feeling almost immediately hungry upon waking up.  He was actually glad for that as he gave his soft, modest pot belly a squeeze, trying to see if it’d gotten any larger or softer lately.  He’d been working hard on his appetite, so hopefully he’d see progress soon.
As usual, it was a hot, humid, sticky sort of day, but it was pleasantly cool in the castle.  With the sheer mass of Adimyosians, especially the Adimyosian royalty, avoiding overheating was a big concern even with the fact that they were used to heat and high humidity.  Fortunately, they had an excellent ice trade going with a northern region, and there were both some mages capable of magically inducing cold, as well as some tamed beasts with the natural ability to do the same.  The royal family in particular had access to many of their own ice dragons and mages, although they always had to be foreigners or using foreign relics of arcane power, because Adimyosians were never born with the ability to use elemental magic.  Cold-enchanted stones, each a bit larger than someone’s head, were placed throughout the whole castle to help cool it.  They were exceptionally high quality, so the magic in each stone could last a few years without any issue.  To an outsider, the castle might actually be a bit chilly, but it felt heavenly to the Adimyosians.
The magic possessed by Adimyosians was subtly and passively interwoven with their natural biology instead, helping to explain how they could accrue so much height, fat, and muscle without ill effect, or how they could gorge themselves to such incredible extents.  When very hungry, even an average Adimyosian man could eat thirty to forty pounds of food in one sitting without discomfort, or more if they pushed themselves.  And in spite of their completely indiscriminate eating habits, even eating things that could poison other races, all Adimyosians were very hearty and healthy.  Regardless of gender, they were as strong as oxen, and they’d gone centuries without a notable plague, even when outsiders carried foreign bacteria and parasites.
Before anything, Tanos went to a large, ornate cage near his bed, where one would expect to see some sort of bird… Instead, it housed a dragon the size of a small housecat, with a long neck and scales colored iridescent blues and violets.  Two long, lightly curled prehensile barbels trailed from the sides of its head. “Morning, Vizzi.”  Tanos said to it, as he opened the cage  The small dragon replied with a high trill before impatiently bringing its barbels together and producing a small shock that hit Tanos on the knuckle. “Alright, alright, I know you’re hungry...”  Tanos said, as Vizzi immediately escaped the cage and got outside through a small opening in the wall about ten feet from the ground, which acted as a sort of “dragon door”.  Although only a tiny thunder dragon, Vizzi was still a very intelligent and prideful creature, so he preferred to get food by himself.  Honestly, Tanos knew the little dragon would’ve unlocked the cage himself if he’d taken too much longer, but Tanos discouraged that because it made him worry about the little dragon.  He needed to be inside when it was dark at all costs.  There were plenty of nocturnal predators awaiting him if he got too sure of himself at night   Tanos went into his personal bathroom to prepare for the day, walking past cabinets full of various equipment for dealing with beasts much larger than Vizzi, and the weapons he liked to train with.  Once he made it, he took a good long look at himself in a mirror clearly made with someone far larger and taller in mind than him. He couldn’t help but sigh at the sight of his body, even though a mainlander would definitely scoff or give him a jealous glare if they ever caught him acting unsatisfied.  But to the Adomyosians, he was nothing but a small, meek young man.  He’d been told more than once that “At least you still have a beautiful face,” in various soft, optimistic, or outright pitying tones. He flexed in the mirror, an action that showed off bulging muscle that would surely intimidate or impress almost any mainlander… But to Adomyosians, they were barely anything special at all.  There’d been plenty of thirteen or fourteen year olds already more substantial than Tanos.  Even scaled down a bit so they’d be at his height, most Adimyosian men would still have larger muscles than him.  Perhaps he was still too active to grow properly…  He’d have to try lowering his activity more and keep trying to push his appetite further. Tanos cleaned himself up and changed clothes, although they were almost the same, just a bit fancier and with the addition of a thin, clingy black top, decorated with ornate gold patterns, showing off most of his arms, and purposely only going to his belly button. Tanos stood and left his huge room through the equally huge door, which opened into the extra wide hallway.  Fine paintings and sculptures decorated the whole length of it, typically depicting fantastic beasts and massively fat and muscular people, often warriors and historical figures. He made his way to the dining room, which was absolutely colossal, and one of the finest rooms in the whole castle.  His parents and siblings all sat around the utterly huge table, which was packed and thickly stacked with all manner of luxurious foods that were nevertheless rapidly disappearing into everyone’s exceedingly round, heavy, corpulent stomachs.  Tanos took an empty, oversized seat next to two of his older sisters and immediately began digging into the massive, fully stacked plate already prepared for him, thanks to the very real danger of them stealing his plate before he could get to it. Attendants nearby had to continually help keep everyone clean and get them refills, as they ate so ravenously that even their relatively “refined” eating style still generated quite bit of crumbs and messiness.  Tanos plowed through his first plate of food without much issue, feeling just the slightest bit proud because it had to have been about ten pounds of food by itself.  After all, it was more like a large serving platter than any dinner plate a mainlander would be familiar with.  He’d packed all manner of rich, fatty delicacies into his stomach, such as thick, sugary jam on rich biscuits, the dense, fatty meat of dragons, tender ham, sausage from only the best fed cattle, sweet, dense bread, an unusually rich and high-carb breed of potato, pancakes with decadent syrup, and dense, creamy milk with an enormous fat content.   Even the fruits on the side were unusually rich in fat and sugar compared to mainland fruit, with their juice and flesh being refreshing, yet thick and syrupy, or sometimes buttery in taste and texture.  Adimyosians were always more than happy to adopt different foods and meal ideas from other cultures, often adding their own twists to make it even richer and fattier. Adimyosian tastes were quite different from the norm, being highly indiscriminate in what they would eat, but having an exceptionally high enjoyment of anything especially rich or dense with calories. Eating was naturally highly pleasurable and rewarding to any Adimyosian, and they were natural-born gluttons.  Even something like a solid stick of butter could be a delicious snack to an Adimyosian’s greedy pallet. Tanos pushed himself to have a second fully packed plate even as he noticed the chefs and servants bringing out a second massive table full of food, and most of his family members had already plowed through several plates each.  Huge belches and pleased moans began to erupt from the others as they continued to gorge themselves.  However, there was barely any talking at all, besides some enthusiastic cries for more. The second plate was already becoming far too much for Tanos, and he had to painstakingly push himself to clear it all.  In the end, he managed to put away about twenty pounds of especially rich food, totalling over 20,000 calories, but that was still rather pathetic compared to the rest of his family.  By time he was finished, his firm, bloated belly looked absolutely pathetic next to his family, all still ravenously devouring more and more food. Meanwhile, he could only sit back and rub his stomach, burping to relieve the pressure. By time the rest of the family had finished, over an hour had passed, and everyone just sat languidly in their huge chairs, unable to move at all.  The servants cleaned up the massive piles of plates and whatever meager scraps were left, leaving the family to digest. With everyone being far too busy during the meal, afterwards was the only real time to talk.  After all, they always ate until they could barely move anyway. “It’s so nice that you don’t eat very much, Tanos….” one of his older sisters started, before pausing to let out an enormous belch.  “It saves food for us!” “Thrin, don’t tease him.  He did a good job this time, he looks more full than usual.  Maybe he’ll finally get his growth spurts soon,” his other sister said, a bit younger but kinder than her sibling.  “Besides, when have we ever not had enough food?” “Honjya, you’re always doting on him. Tanos is the same cute little twig of a brother as always, isn’t he?  Needing to be stuffed just to have a belly half as big as Masu’s empty belly was at that age… No matter how you look at it, he’s just the prince of twigs!” “I am not the prince of twigs!” Tanos said defensively.  “Mainlanders have said I look strong!” “If you’re a twig, mainlanders are nothing but strings!  Being bigger than those pale, scrawny, ugly men is just the bare minimum of beauty!” Thrin countered. “Men from the mainlands aren’t so bad.  It’s really cute how they think so highly of themselves even though they’re so tiny and fragile.  They’re like naive little kids.”  Honjya said. “I suppose so.  One of those depraved skeletons tried to touch me without permission once.  I broke his wrist just by grabbing it.  It really is incredible how they even survive, being so soft,”  Thrin said. “If you’re calling them skeletons, how can you turn around and say they’re soft?  Clearly, we’re much softer than them,”  Honjya said with a laugh, squeezing one of her massive, oozing lovehandles for emphasis.  Just the short laugh made her gelatinous breasts and belly wobble noticeably. “But in a good way!  We’re soft and beautiful, like the most plush and luxurious fabrics.  They’re just metaphorically soft…  Really, I suppose brittle would be the better word,”  Thrin said disdainfully.  “Shriveled, brittle little skeleton men who we always have to play nice with when they’re the ones who came trying to ransack our home in the first place…” “Don’t be so harsh right after a meal, Thrin.  Just relax and let your stomach work, or you’ll become ugly,”  came a deep voice from beside Thrin.. “It would take more than that to ruin the beauty of a princess, Lamtu,” Thrin said dismissively to her older brother.  “Even a twig like Tanos couldn’t become ugly from something so trivial,”  Thrin said.  “After all, he’s still got a few suitors who are confident they can manage to fatten him up!”   “You should be more like the others,”  Lamtu said, motioning an enormous but very plush arm to them.  Sure enough, their five other siblings were asleep after such a filling meal.  Some days, if they could get away with it, they’d do literally almost nothing but eat and sleep. “Mom is asleep too,”  Honjya said with a giggle.  Her mother, the queen of Adimyos, was a gorgeous but extraordinarily large woman, with a height of 8’4 and a weight of nearly 4,000 pounds.  She was peacefully dozing right across from them, her belly gurgling contentedly with the massive several hundred pound feast packed inside.  Really, the incredibly wide and plush woman was still more than fertile enough to continue having healthy heirs.  Due to having some of the finest Adimyosian genes in the land, on top of the natural health and vigor of their race, she still looked almost as youthful as her daughters despite being in her 40s, but she and the king had mutually decided it was best to stop at nine children.  After all, if she got pregnant just once or twice more, the resulting weight gain would surely make her immobile.  She already relied on her great height, extra large frame, and fantastic Adimyosian strength to remain mobile at 4,000 pounds as it was.  Still, it wasn’t an easy task, and she often had attendants following her to keep her steady with each wide, ponderous step.  Immobile royalty wasn’t unheard of in Adimyos, or even particularly uncommon, but the queen wasn’t in a rush to get there. The king was next to her, every bit as incredibly stuffed and overfed.  He was somewhere between being awake and asleep, apparently fighting the desire to go to sleep after a breakfast that partially involved eating a whole roast pig on his own.  He weighed almost the same amount as the queen, but looked somewhat less flabby and elephantine thanks to being a foot taller and having much more muscle on his frame.  So, technically, it was the queen who was the fattest in all of Adimyos, but the king was no less stunning.  His long, wavy black hair was in a thick, voluminous ponytail, and he wore a massive, ornate crown embedded with precious jewels in many colors.
The king and queen were considered the absolute pinnacles of beauty and desirability.  Every day, their already naturally gorgeous skin and faces would be tended to with only the finest lotions and oils.  Still, it was intentionally not enough to completely stop the formation of stretchmarks, which were merely another sign of beauty to Adimyosians. The queen’s breasts were still unbelievably round and surprisingly perky for how massive and heavy they were, atop a massive, gelatinous double belly with a center fold so deep the queen had a tendency to store extra snacks in it, or in her enormous cleavage.  Her black bra was absolutely enormous, but comfortable and finely decorated.  It was practically the only thing she wore on her upper body besides a thin, skimpy, silky top that was somewhat translucent and didn’t even attempt to cover her stomach.  On her colossal lower body, with hips so amazingly wide and a butt so globular and massive that she needed the widest seat at the table of all,  she just wore a long white floral patterned skirt that had a split from the thigh down so it wouldn’t be outgrown too easily.  She wore a beautiful crown of living flowers, able to be maintained without magic because they were naturally air plants regardless.  They were secured to a tiara made of high quality, finely engraved wood, with valuable gems set into the whole length of it. As Tanos tried to leave the breakfast table, Honjya suddenly seized his arm.  Even though Tanos was far from weak, and he could tell Honjya was being rather gentle, her grip was inescapable. “You’re not finished yet, are you Tanos?  We still need to bulk you up so much!”  Honjya said.  Tanos gulped, dreading what was coming next, but he didn’t resist.  He knew he needed it. Honjya called two servants over, and they almost immediately knew what had to be done.  Tanos watched them with a mixture of anxiety and envy.  They were each hardly even seven and a half feet tall, and yet they both looked much bulkier, better fed, and better suited to be princes than him.  The only advantage he had was a prettier face. They came back in only a moment with some twine and a funnel, along with a massive pitcher of something.  Tanos quickly had his hands tied behind his chair and the funnel forced into his mouth.  He was getting used to it by now, as it’d happened at least once a day for the last month.  It wasn’t anything particularly unusual, he was just taking part in the latest scheme to force him to fatten up. It was working, to an extent.  He’d gained eleven pounds in the last month, but that was hardly anything compared to his siblings, even though he should’ve been able to fatten up much quicker than them without the need to support the nutritional demands of so much fat and muscle, along with the energy required to remain strong and healthy in spite of extreme obesity.
Still, Tanos couldn’t help but wince as the pitcher was tipped into the funnel, and he was immediately forced to pack a thick milkshake into his already full stomach.  He struggled to even breathe as he forced himself to focus on nothing but swallowing.  The mixture was painful and overwhelming before he finally started to find some relief about a third of the way into drinking it, thanks to the herbs inside.  They were designed to soothe an upset stomach as well as relax and elastify muscles and tissues, allowing his stomach to stretch further than it could on its own… And hopefully, leading to permanent capacity increases over time.  Still, it was an arduous and painful ordeal.  There was a whole gallon of the thick shake mixture in the funnel, and it was somewhat denser than water alone, so by time he finally forced it all into his stomach, he’d added more than ten pounds and perhaps 25,000 more calories to his heavily burdened stomach. Still, the main theory as to why he could only grow so slowly with such extreme overfeeding was that his body was in an unusually prolonged unique phase of Adimyosian puberty known as the Great Shift.  Essentially, the Great Shift was a preparation phase.  The body was using up a disproportionately ridiculous amount of energy and not adding much more size or mass during this phase because it was busy converting the young Adimyosian’s body into a stronger and tougher body that could effortlessly endure heights, weights, and digestive burdens that would normally be impossible and highly dangerous and unhealthy, as well as being capable of safely gaining weight much faster, and building far more muscle than would be possible for a normal human. Normally, an Adimyosian was supposed to have already completed their Great Shift in the range of fourteen to sixteen years old, sometimes even sooner, but it seemed that Tanos’ body was simply running very late with it.  Fortunately, they’d ruled out curses or some dormant disease or defect in the bloodline, so now it was simply a matter of waiting out the unusually long Great Shift.  In any case, making sure the subject always had as much nutrition as possible was known to make the Shift conclude faster, so even though the force-feeding was difficult and only making slow progress so far, it would help either way.
Tanos rubbed his stomach and belched loudly, now packed with over thirty pounds of food at once.  His bloated midsection growled and bubbled uncomfortably, still aching and pulsing with mild pain even with the stretching and relaxing effects of the shake.  It looked like he was about to deliver triplets, jutting out a full foot in front of him, but he couldn’t help but feel rather embarrassed.  The servants were merely normal Adimyosians and even they could easily and happily eat the same amount of food in one sitting, with no help from a stomach-stretching painkiller shake, getting only pleasantly full rather than painfully overstuffed. Honjya slowly rubbed his stomach with a large, soft hand.  Tanos often noted that even her fingers were fat.  “You did really good this time, Tanos!  That was the entire pitcher!  Would you like me to carry you to bed?”  Honjya said. Tanos let out another huge burp before answering.  “Yes, please…”  he said, his breathing labored.  He was honestly rather embarrassed by the offer, but he was too full to try and preserve his dignity. “Okay!  Today, you can just eat and sleep all you want…  Soon, you’ll be as big as us,”  Honjya said caringly, as she stood and then proceeded to lift Tanos bridal style, as if he were only the weight of a small child, and not a 240 pound man with over thirty pounds of food in him. “Thank you…”  Tanos mumbled, although his face was burning and he couldn’t look directly at her.  As kind as she could be, it was still incredibly embarrassing to be carried around like a little kid by a 1,500 pound, 8 foot tall sister who was older by only a year and a half.
It wasn’t exactly the fastest way to travel, but Tanos was back in his room soon enough, as Honjya gingerly placed him on his bed, although it was rather awkward due to her size.
“Sleep well, Tanos,”  she said warmly, before waddling back into the hallway. Tanos, barely able to move on his own while so full, quickly fell into a deep sleep while absentmindedly rubbing his aching, jutting stomach. It was progress, but he still had far more to face than just painful funnel feeding and the struggle to gain more weight.

congratulations   tilda !  BRISEIS is one of those hit-or-miss characters. there is so little we know about her, so there’s plenty of room for development. on the other hand, it’s very easy to simplify her story and make her a mere footnote in the story of the trojan war. you, however, gave us a wonderfully complex woman who definitely will not stand in the shadows of men. your briseis is kind, stubborn, raw, and refined — she is very real and human, and we are absolutely delighted to accept you with your first faceclaim choice: MEDALION RAHIMI.
☆゚*・゚  OOC INFO.
tilda, 25, she/her, GMT.. u know the drill.
☆゚*・゚  DEITY  —  GENDER. AGE RANGE.
BRISEIS — FEMALE , 21-25
☆゚*・゚ MORTAL NAME. JOB/OCCUPATION. BOROUGH/NEIGHBORHOOD.
BRIE MILLER —  librarian of nyc central library ( she also part time volunteers at homeless shelters, owns a cat named biscuits in her apartment in lower manhattan (the cat is NOT allowed in her apartment, but that’s not gonna stop her from keeping him).
☆゚*・゚ FACE-CLAIM.
medalion rahimi, madeleine madden, aisha dee, sibylla deen,
☆゚*・ HOW WOULD YOU PLAY THEM?
briseis had been born into ordinary circumstances on an ordinary day. there was no prophet, no omen, no sign that she’d outlive her full brothers nor would her arrival mean anything other than the fact that she’d make a natural wife, perhaps a mother, and finally a timid lover worthy of someone normal. a proud young girl who only ever wanted to live her life to the fullest, she was married off to mynes, a son of the king of lyrnessus - her brothers came with her, acting as soldiers and protectors to the city; though it was not their fault that their master’s took troy’s side in the war for helen; the most beautiful woman in all of greece. at first, the city had been hopeful of their victory as there was no sign of achilles, thus meaning that if they stood their ground all would be well. briseis, the wife and meek leader of women and children watched from the safety of a tower as she overlooked the progress of the war. yes, nothing of note was ever supposed to have happened to the girl who wasn’t spectacularly good looking, smart or charming. with an empty womb and a sense of hubris that would mark her for the rest of her life, briseis had to look on as her brothers were slain by the sudden appearance of achilles; she watched as they brought out her meek husband, executing him on the steps of the palace. for briseis thought this was to be her end and thus would mean nothing to the cornerstones of history ( and would certainly never appear in the stories of the great homer ).
the city sacked, fallen to the greeks with the help of the all-mighty achilles, briseis was presented as his war prize and had to battle with her sense of pride to not have her head ripped from her tender neck. she walked hand-in-hand with the friends she had made in lyrnessus and promised to keep them safe; though how can a war-torn slave make such cherished promises? she had been a fool to whisper them in the tents that were soaked in blood, fluids and shit.. yet still; briseis was one of the lucky ones - she was presented to achilles, the slayer of her brothers, her husband and other familiar faces. with one turn of the sun, she goes from queen to captive, lying in tents with women who were given as prizes to the famous heroes who fought for helen - a woman whom briseis had met as a young girl, many moons ago. but the story is well-known and many see briseis as a footnote in the tale of achilles, alongside his partner patroclus. she was a proud woman and did anything to not fall humble to the normal life of a slave woman, she was desperate to live a life belonging to someone who wasn’t a slave of warfare - and though achilles may have killed her family he still lead her to believe that she was wanted, or in some kind of way, needed. to her, achilles and patroclus were two different sides of the same coin. patroclus was a soul briseis could adore, to explore her own sensuality with. whilst the other played a game of tug and war; briseis wondering if she was coming or going when face to face with achilles himself. though she ultimately fell for the pair of them in different ways, you could say that she was forced to do so - after all, the key to her survival was the pair of them. being linked to the two great warriors meant that they couldn’t throw her to the side, and so to love and cherish became a survival technique that several captive women would adopt to sleep beneath the stars during troy’s siege. before the war, she may have been proud but the war itself shaped briseis into a meaningful, strong and intelligent woman. her true self was created; it is this strength that kept her afloat when her memories came surging back.
for before the memories of her past came back to life, briseis was blissfully unaware of whom she actually was. she lived the life of brie miller, a librarian at new york central library where she spent many an hour sorting out the books or going through digital archives for her mentors. she helped present lessons for incoming students and took the train back home, to an apartment she shared with her dear cat whom she had named biscuits. her life in new york city was so different to the life spent in the dirt of troy that you can barely compare them but we must try. for brie miller was a softer folk, unburdened by the state of war or the tug on life. everything had been easy for her, a soft-upbringing by parents who loved her but lived in california, a house with white picket fences. yes, brie miller was living her perfectly normal and satisfactory life till the nightmares came. such nightmares poured into her mind like thunderbolts, the father of fathers and the king of kings waking the mortal from her slumber to flashing images of screams, fire, smoke and the clash of heavy armour. for a softened soul was quickly morphed into a woman tired from life itself, with a lost son who may or may not be a figment of her imagination. brie, the facade and simple version of a woman who was meant to live an ordinary life, couldn’t handle the visions and spent her holiday weeks stuck in her so-called parent’s house on the coast. but nothing could prepare her, nothing could soothe her head as she prayed to zeus for a release. let me forget, she pleaded - let me pretend.
but no one escaped zeus’ wavering hand, and so briseis was brought forward to the light unwillingly, her eyes squinting as if she awoke from a long and deep slumber. far away from the sandpit of troy and the coast in which she spent the longest time, briseis was forced to play the god’s game of make-believe. she went back to the city with a new perspective, though found it soothing to have a pet, hands reaching out to embrace the cat who soon became a companion to a woman who had always felt so alone. even with the love of achilles and patroclus, briseis was doomed to never love as the poets describe, even if she begged for it. for now, a new question arrives. when in troy her love for the warriors was bred within the pits of submission and survival, but now? briseis, or brie, had a certain amount of independence that one couldn’t have imagined when held as captive and slave in one turn. would her love till reign free? can briseis whip up a new life or will she still live beneath the shadow of her male ‘owners’? for she never slept alone, and how can she face to return to a one-bedroom apartment with only a cat for a companion? she straddles the line of a girl who saw history and a girl who has seen nothing. only exploring the world can answer questions only she herself can ask.
1. are they more likely to stand with the pantheon or against it?  ( if you are choosing a god they may endeavour to dismantle it for whatever reason )
as neither god or impressive mortal, briseis is a god-fearing human and wouldn’t think of standing against it in public nor behind closed doors. within the sandpits of greece briseis would openly pray and keep sacrifices, she’d even offer gifts to achilles’ mother who nurtures a power of her own. though in this new land, this grey landscape with long-tall towers, briseis isn’t sure what the god’s purpose is. it seems the mortals have got along just fine without the gods’ interaction.
2. what is their stand on mortals?
a mortal herself, she likes them though has a sour note on everyone due to the lack of happiness that followed her throughout her life. she sees mortals as scheming as the gods, and trusts next to no one, she even doubts patroclus whom she had grown to adore with such pure affection.

REPLYING TO THIS.
there were few similarities between ancient greece and twenty-first century new york city. briseis, once awoken from a dream where everything was black or white, struggled to find roots to cling onto. to find something of solid form to soothe her raging mind. the waves of her thoughts crash against the crumbling walls of her sanity, fingers running against brickwork that seemed hidden between artificial grass and the squelch of mud beneath a travelling visitor to the city. in her dream, in the world in which she was known simply as brie miller the librarian, she had walked the same path and felt nothing but ease within the city.
but in that moment, whilst trying to breathe in the polluted air of the concrete jungles, the only thing she could hold onto was the dull chirp of a bird stuck within the land it had been born into. for a bird who sung such softness should’ve been living within the confines of its ancestors - a far cry away from the city that choked its small throat. briseis, who longed to find something in which comfort flowed, found a companion in the soft chirp of the bird and it’s song. between america and greece lay few similarities that was right, but at least she found one in the form of nature. in the screech of the wind, in the small flecks of early snowfall and finally, in the song of the very bird briseis came to fall for.
so entranced she was, briseis almost misses the shrill bark of a mother lost and the soft weight of a child who could barely carry her own skeleton. the mortals were odd folk, for in the land of greece children would run freely with scars and bruises as evidence to their bawdy nature and longevity. briseis, of such proud temperament, takes a step backwards and muffles a gasp once her eyes are set upon her. there are two things that tear her mind in two - for the ache of a child was something that always made her feel inadequate or lost beyond comprehension. secondly, to see anyone from her past glory was a shock - to see clytemnestra whom she had heard within the river of hades’ eye had her entire body ache. for wasn’t she the woman who carved the king agamemnon’s head in two? with her throat tight, choking briseis of any air, she stumbles forward and tries her best to make balance against the city’s humble park. “i am…” though the words do not part between lips, for her pride stops her from whispering such an apology worthy of a protective mother.
“your child is a fast one, she would make a good athlete… wouldn’t she?”

New Evolution Brotherhood fic ideas
I was thinking about the end of the X-Men Evolution series, and how we see that in the future, Magneto will join the X-Men and become teacher to the New Mutants, while the Brotherhood will go on to work for SHIELD. And so I was thinking, if I were to write a continuation of of Evolution, who will be the new bad guys? SHIELD can be antagonistic to the X-Men at times, but that's not the same thing as bad guys. I personally would like to see lots of baddy groups from the comic books who never made it to canon Evo, such as the Marauders and the Hellfire Club, and I already have ideas about the Evolution version of the Hellions to combat the New Mutants, but how about a new Brotherhood too, who would be foes to both the X-Men and SHIELD? I think that would only make sense. The canon Evolution Brotherhood was just vulnerable teenagers being manipulated by an adult into making trouble for her own ends, not real bad guys with any real goals. This new Brotherhood, however, would be more like the Brotherhood of comics and movies, a true radical organization formed in response to rising anti-mutant sentiment as mutants became more and more well-known. Since mutants only became public knowledge during the course of Evolution, things are probably gonna get worse for them before they get better. The new Brotherhood would be adults lashing back against that with real terrorist activity. (I do love the “teen rivals” idea of the original Brotherhood though, so that would continue with the aforementioned Evolution version of the Hellions led by, of course, an Evolution version of Emma Frost. So they would be the successors to the Evolution Brotherhood in spirit---a pack of mostly good kids misled by an awesome evil lady---while this new one would be more in name.)
For this new Brotherhood, I would pick characters from the comics canon who were involved with the 616 Brotherhood and 616 Acolytes (not to be confused with the canon Evo Acolytes which were nothing like them and had none of the same members), as well as similar groups like the Mutant Liberation Front (which was not run by Magneto in the comics, but had likeminded goals, as evident by the name) So here is my lineup idea and my reasons for picking each mutant. Click their names for links to info pages about them elsewhere on the web!
Obviously, with Magneto gone, a leader is needed. I guess Mystique is the obvious choice, but for a NEW series, I think I would like to have a new Big Bad, and have Mystique doing new things. I think she could be a sort of chaotic neutral type, aiding the “bad guys” and “good guys” alike---helping out the Acolytes and their ilk because she agrees with their cause, but also the X-Men in an attempt to win over Kurt and Rogue, as well as anyone else who suits her ends. No, for the actual leader of the new Brotherhood, I would pick (no surprise from me, I guess) Fabian Cortez. At my RP blog for Fabian and the other first-gen Acolytes from the comics ( @thecorteztwins ) I play an Evolution verse where Fabian and his sister Anne Marie are teenagers, not terrorists, and pretty ordinary nice kids. I find it fun to play a Lighter and Softer version of them both. But if I were going to actually write for the show (or just a fanfic) I think that an adult Fabian Cortez, one who is very like his 616 counterpart, would be an excellent choice for a villain and as a successor to Magneto's role---I mean, he did that for awhile in the comics anyway, and he actually did it pretty damn well until Magneto came back and he got demoted to abused comic relief. Also, Evolution Magneto was pretty despicable and far less sympathetic and complex than 616 Magneto, so the fact that Fabian himself isn't at all sympathetic wouldn't be an issue as far as “is this character a good replacement for that one in terms of story role” goes. I also think Fabian would be a bit more fun to work with, because he's not just very competent and clever and threatening as a villain, he's also frequently hilarious and embarrassing as a person, as you know from my other posts about him. So he can be more fleshed-out, versus just the scary bad guy in the background. No offense to Magneto fans here, I just don't think Evo did Magneto justice, at least to my memory.
Fabian being there means that Anne Marie Cortez is a shoe-in for the team psychic. Since they'll be fighting a team that has both Xavier and Jean Grey (until the Phoenix, as also shown in the future of Evolution) I think it's only fair that the Brotherhood has somebody to balance that, though her powers being much more limited compared those of Xavier (she is not a true telepath, but an empath who can also control minds) keeps her from making their side TOO overpowered in that regard (since if the bad guys have their own Xavier, that would just end every fight before it starts) Her enhanced agility and skill with a firearm (as shown in the comics) can make for dramatic physical fights as well, so she's not just standing there with her fingers on her forehead. It would also be neat to work in my theory that Empath of the Hellions is cousin to the Cortez twins. Also to work out if this version of Anne Marie would want to bring Magneto back to the cause, or just sees him as a traitor and is loyal only to the ideas of the Brotherhood, not its founder. That would apply for everyone I guess, but it would especially apply for how I write her because the way I write her 616 version on my RP blog is someone who is fanatically devoted to Magneto as a religious character, so it would be a radically different Anne Marie for me to write in many ways if I changed that. Which would also be interesting. Delgado or Frenzy or Kamal El Alaoui as the team strongman. I have a bias for Delgado since I write him on my RP blog, and Kamal has a cool extra ability too (takes on qualities of whatever he touches, such as steel or concrete) but I really like Frenzy there. Female strongman characters with visible muscle are a bit unusual, and I don't think we've had a super-strong woman in Evolution. Plus, since she joined the X-Men in 616, she could be this season's Rogue...but honestly, I kinda like her better as classic 80s-90s total asshole Frenzy. I guess there could be a way to make it both, though, and redemption stories are more powerful when the person was REALLY bad first.
Astra or Amelia Voght for team teleporter. Amelia was the teleporter for the 616 Acolytes, while Astra was with the 616 Brotherhood. I prefer Amelia for her interactions with Fabian, but Astra would be great for Magneto stories, either pursuing her personal grudge against him (like she had in the comics) or trying to recruit him back into his old life, or both. And if she's trying to recruit him, how does Fabian, the current leader, feel about that? Does he support it, because having Magneto will attract more followers? Or is he opposed to it because he doesn't want his position threatened? I think I'd have to go with Astra for these reasons, and I think Amelia's interactions with Fabian could easily be duplicated with Astra (Fabian is a creep, then pays for it, basically) Just as Astra has a past with Magneto in the comics, Amelia has a past with Xavier, so she could be used for doing an Xavier-centric story, but I think we already know Evolution Xavier is pretty terrible, and I think Astra going after Magneto could make for more actual conflict, so again, I'd pick Astra. But I would still like having Amelia for reasons other than her powers and her connection to Charles, mainly that she was the one who questioned the Acolytes cruelty and, unlike Scanner or Neophyte (see below) she wasn’t meek about it. I think someone like that is important for the team dynamic---you’ve got the sadistic assholes (Carmella, Kleinstocks, Senyaka, etc), the people who aren’t that evil but also don’t care (Phantazia) or are oblivious (Milan), the ones who feel it’s wrong but are too afraid to do anything (the aforementioned Neophyte and Scanner types) and then Amelia, the sole one saying anything. In order not to make her redundant next to Astra, I would tweak her powers, so she no longer teleports via mist, but has powers like those of Mist Mistress, making her a composite character (like how Evolution Avalanche is a combination of comics Avalanche and Rictor) Mist Mistress never got a civilian name in the comics, and Amelia never got a codename, so it works out pretty well! Neophyte or Scanner as the one who, as previously mentioned, is not as cruel as the majority of their comrades but lacks the spine to take a stand. Their powers are different, but their abilities are visually similar and both non-combative, and both of them are meek types who aren't cruel like many of their teammates but too scared and submissive and unsure to actually question Fabian, who they obey and who bullies them behind closed doors like the big dickwad he is. So I would pick just one to use so it's not redundant. Scanner is an adult woman and Neophyte is a teenage boy, so Fabian's interactions with Scanner would have an extra gross edge that they wouldn't with Neophyte. I'm not sure if that's a reason to pick her or a reason NOT to, to be honest. On the one hand, it helps show how awful he is. On the other, this is a kid's show. I think I'll go with Neophyte. Fabian can still be gross to other women in the series, but then they can kick his ass. Plus Neophyte being a teen gives him a chance to connect more with the New Mutants (I picture most of the X-Men being young adults at this point, but the New Mutants will still be teens) I'm not sure about Chrome. He would either make the Brotherhood too over-powered in a fight (since he can turn everyone to metal)...or he would do the reverse and be an enormous liability, since he's making a bunch of metal WHEN THEY ARE FIGHTING MAGNETO. I guess if I picked Delgado for the team strong guy, I would use Chrome too, since it would feel weird to use ¾ of the first-gen Acolytes team from the comics (Fabian, Anne Marie, Chrome, Delgado) and then not use one of them. But since I picked Frenzy for the team muscle, I'll leave out Chrome. Phantazia aka Eileen Harsaw. She was a member of the 616 Brotherhood who could manipulate electromagnetic energy. I'm fond of her, as there aren't that many Brotherhood women as there are men, and she's a little-known 90s character which is my favorite kind. So I would like to include her in this new Evolution Brotherhood. I'm also going for a team that's well-balanced, so since they've thus far got Fabian's support powers, Anne Marie's psychic powers, Frenzy's physical strength, Astra's teleporting, and Neophyte's transport/spy powers, Eileen's offensive elemental/energy powers are a good addition. It will also be neat to see her face off against Magneto, as their abilities seem similar. Not much is known about her, but Blob refers to her as “Ms. PhD” in the comics, suggesting she may be very intelligent or well-educated, and I think something could be done with that as well. The Kleinstock brothers, from the 616 Acolytes, have a mix of physical and energy powers.  Like their comics counterparts, they're just there to be evil sadistic assholes, in order to contrast people like Neophyte. In the comics, they were originally triplets (Eric, Harlan, and Sven) but Eric was killed in their first mission, so most of their appearances have just been Harlan and Sven. I would like to keep it to just Sven and Harlan as well, to avoid confusion with Magneto due to him sharing a first name with Eric, but I also would like for Eric to still be acknowledged. I'm just not sure how to do it. Evolution was dark, but people rarely actually died, so I don't think having Eric die is the way to go. Then again, maybe the Eric/Erik thing won't be such a big deal, since Erik will usually be referred to as Magneto anyway? Francisco Milan was the Acolytes technopath in the comics, and he was precious. Just a precious nerd. I need this precious nerd in the new Evolution Brotherhood. He's not a jerk like Frenzy or the Kleinstocks, but he's not really...aware enough to question things like Neophyte. It's not that he's stupid or callous, he's just totally focused on his own little cyber-world and I don't think he notices much else, he just hacks what they tell him. As in the comics, he probably gets picked on for his non-combative powers by the other Acolytes, and is super happy whenever he gets used to, and very ashamed when he feels he's failed (read: performed less than perfection) LOVE THIS PRECIOUS NERD, EVERYONE! Unus the Untouchable (Angelo Unuscione) or his daughter Carmella Unuscione. Unus was a member of the 616 Brotherhood, Carmella of the 616 Acolytes. I really like the friendship that Unus and the Blob had in the comics, so I'd like to reproduce that in Evolution. But since Unus is old enough to have an adult daughter, he'd be a lot older than Blob is in this universe, since Blob would be a young adult himself when working with SHIELD. Plus, if Blob is with SHIELD, he and Unus would be enemies if Unus is with the Brotherhood. So what I'm thinking is that Angelo “Unus” Unuscione is an older guy who works with SHIELD and was one of their first mutant members, and he becomes a father figure to Fred. Fred's never shown to have any parents in the picture, so this seems like a much-needed thing for him. As for Unus, his daughter being with the Brotherhood provides obvious drama and conflict and an interesting background story, and it also shows why he'd want to mentor a substitute child figure. So, Unus for SHIELD, and Carmella for the Brotherhood. Carmella, by the way, is very much one of the BAD Acolytes in the comics, so she's a horrible person in the Evolution Brotherhood too. Maybe Barnacle as the team Toad Like Frenzy, Carmella, and the Kleinstocks, Senyaka is one of the horrible bloodthirsty human-hating members of the 616 Acolytes, and his Evolution counterpart will fill that role in the Evolution Brotherhood. I don’t particuliarly care for Senyaka but he’s an iconic member of the Acolytes, so including him feels right, and we could use a really scary guy like him.
Lorelei was a Savage Land native in the comics that Magneto artificially mutated, and she served in his Brotherhood. For her Evolution version though, I think she'll just have a cameo. I can't see her as full-time member at all; in the comics, she was totally naive of what was going on and just did what Magneto told her without thought or opposition since he was her creator. She doesn't seem like she at all understands the human/mutant conflict or why she's supposed to fight the X-Men. Her Evolution counterpart would of course not be from the Savage Land, but an ordinary young mutant woman, and therefore know about these things, but I still see her as someone with a personality that just has no interest in participating in this fight. So my idea is that when Anne Marie is captured or otherwise can't fight, they find and recruit her, by payment or force, to fill in for her on a single mission. Anne Marie can control everyone's mind, while Lorelei can only control men, but that's a decent enough replacement in a pinch. Also, Lorelei's name as a Savage Land girl was Lani Ubana, and since the name Lani is a real-world Hawaiin name, her Evolution version would be Native Hawaiian. She'd have a corresponding Hawaiian surname has well, since I doubt Ubana has a coincidentally real-world counterpart as well. Also, Fabian is probably a huge creep to her so she should use her powers to make him slap himself. Solarr or Strobe or Crucible (commonly known as Burner but I prefer his Crucible codename) or Firefist, purely for the sake of a literal firefight with Pyro (which should also happen with Magma of the New Mutants) I like Solarr but I would pick Crucible because in the 1990s animated series, he and Gambit are established to be old friends, and it would be neat to use that in the Evolution universe, especially since the original cartoon was never really clear on how they met or the details of the relationship, so that could be established in this story. Also Solarr is a tall ginger so I think that could get confusing with Fabian around; I’d still keep him as a baddy in the Evo sequel, just not part of this group (Solarr was always about money and never mutant rights anyway) Alternatively for our fire/heat user guy, we could use Reignfire as the team’s evil counterpart to Sunspot. Rather than being Sunspot’s sort-of clone like in the comics, he could be his older brother or cousin instead, to make things less confusing and convoluted. I might also throw in Feral as a cruel counterpart to the Hellion’s Catseye (since she’s included in my Evo Hellions who would also be in this Evolution sequel I shall never write) and/or Mellencamp just to have an overtly monstrous-looking team member. Also maybe work in my Evo ideas for Polaris not so much as a Brotherhood member but more like a target, like maybe part of Astra’s schemes to get at Magneto. Though that would naturally have to involve my ideas for an Evolution version of Zala Dane too!

Sermon On The Mount You could “Burn all the books, for the answers are all here.” The books written on how to become a different person, to change, to grow, to alter ones life could fill a library. The Sermon On The Mount has been with us for 2000 years, yet how few really study it. Living on the Spiritual Basis studying this codification leads to the easier softer way, everything else a variation on its themes. Haven’t read the Sermon in a while? What a gorgeous day to revisit it. Matthew 5-7:27 (King James Version) Matthew 5 1 And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him: 2 And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying, 3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. 5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. 6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. 7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. 8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. 9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. 10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. 12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you. 13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. 14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. 15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. 17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. 18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. 19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven. 21 Ye have heard that it was said of them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment: 22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire. 23 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; 24 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift. 25 Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison. 26 Verily I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing. 27 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: 28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. 29 And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. 30 And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. 31 It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement: 32 But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery. 33 Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths: 34 But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne: 35 Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King. 36 Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black. 37 But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil. 38 Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: 39 But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also. 40 And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloak also. 41 And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain. 42 Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away. 43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. 44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; 45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. 46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? 47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? 48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. Matthew 6 1 Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven. 2 Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. 3 But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: 4 That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly. 5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. 6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. 7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. 8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him. 9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. 10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. 14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: 15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. 16 Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. 17 But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face; 18 That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly. 19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: 20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: 21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. 22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. 23 But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness! 24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. 25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? 26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? 27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? 28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: 29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? 31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? 32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. 33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. 34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. Matthew 7 1 Judge not, that ye be not judged. 2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. 3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? 4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? 5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye. 6 Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you. 7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. 9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? 10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? 11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him? 12 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets. 13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. 15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. 16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. 21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. 24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. 26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: 27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it. And when He ended, the people were astonished, for He taught as someone having the authority of these words, not merely as a teacher.
