just realised that all ttrpg podcasts I'm listening to rn have a paladin that's struggling with figuring out who he really is
either because their path in life has changed, they realised they've been lied to their whole life or they just have amnesia and literally don't know who they really are/were

Not to talk about the watcher thing again as I’ve already kind of said my piece, but one of the most batshit insane parts of this whole unbelievable situation is that for some reason they decided that for some fucking reason the BEST time to announce this highly controversial decision was literally DAYS before they would be going on an international tour and having to face irate fans IN PERSON. Guys. What the hell. At least have the sensibility to announce a move that you HAD to have known would make people upset AFTER one of the few times you actually interact in person with your fanbase.
I hope you’re ready to investigate the Tower of London for ghosts, because I have a feeling the Londoners will be more than happy to acquaint you with the building later this week.
Insane move after insane move. Truly.

shout out to brandon rodgers for giving us a bone chilling vocal delivery of ‘well, I’m not letting you, bitch’ that sounded straight out of every abuser’s playbook when you try to break things off, 10/10 no notes

i don’t know if i’m ever gonna write the fic but i’ve been thinking abt like. the eternal stockade. the implications. lup, a lich who was trapped in a dark featureless cell for a decade completely isolated with nothing to keep her sanity but her own mind. she has to put people in the eternal stockade. how many liches does she see herself in. how many liches started out just like her. how many liches are truly too far gone. and the only liches we ever see other than her and barry are edward and lydia. they’re certainly evil, but mad? they seem pretty sane. they’re not, like, tattered echoes of souls, they’re definitely still people. even as much of a grudge as lup surely has against them, wouldn’t they remind her incredibly strongly of herself? do they deserve to be trapped just like she was? for eternity? isn’t eternity what turned john to existential despair in the first place?

okay we’re 4 episodes into season one and highlights of gfs comments so far include:
saying IMMEDIATELY that episode 1 could not be more gay coded what with kara’s desperation to live her truth and be herself etc etc etc
she’s delighted to see maxwell lord bc he is apparently the dad in twilight
kara at catco reminds her slightly of pam from the office of all people which .. absolutely baffles me

I've been thinking a lot about Wyll and how his character arc is a tragedy no matter what choices you make because he's a Hero who must always Do The Right Thing.
How could he put his own self-determination over the lives of everyone in the city he loves so much? It's a painful decision, but not a difficult one. Not for him.
He knows the consequences of letting Karlach live, but how could he not? He can't put his looks above her life. That's not what a hero should do.
Then when he's only months away from being free from Mizora, she puts another ultimatum in front of him. And this time, the decision isn't clear cut. Yes it's his father's life, but in exchange for his own soul? What parent wouldn't give their life for their child's soul? But the choice is Wyll's. Maybe he signs the contract, giving one of the few things he has left for the greater good. Or maybe he says no. No more. His father wouldn't want this if he knew all the details. Does his choice finally take him off the path?
If you're playing as him, the choice to turn into a mindflayer gains several dimensions. On one hand, let Orpheus do it and he never fulfills his destiny to bring peace to his people. Let Karlach do it and what was the initial sacrifice worth? She deserves to live all the life she has left.
But Wyll... he has sacrificed parts of himself over and over again. There's so little of him left that he wouldn't be giving as much as the others... maybe. And maybe as a soulless mindflayer, he's out of Mizora's reach.
