So we see that Viktor is the one that does Yuuri’s hair (at least some of the time) because of that photo during the credits, and that makes me wonder, who does Yuri’s hair?? Braiding is somewhat difficult, especially so tightly and far up on the head, so it doesn’t make much sense for Yuri to do his own hair when he already needs to be concerned about competing.
I therefore propose two possibilities:
1.) Some of the time, it is Viktor that does it. He had long hair for quite a while and knows how to take care of it. He and Yuri know each other well. Yuri, for all of his grumbling, genuinely respects Viktor and his talents, as we see through his insistence that Viktor choreograph his program and return to Russia to coach him. I feel it’s quite reasonable that Viktor would be trusted to do his hair.
2.) It’s Yakov. Yakov, the old man with no children of his own, who pours his heart and soul into the skaters in his care. Viktor’s family is (at least to me) likely not in the picture, and Viktor grew up spending incredible amounts of time with his coach. Viktor is talkative and affectionate and his relationship with Yakov reveals quite a deep bond — Yakov may have been the one to style Viktor’s hair before competitions as there was no one else to do it for him. When Vitya leaves and he has another young skater to look after, it makes sense that these skills would transfer over. He’d be the one standing at Yuri’s back, carefully parting his hair into sections and ensuring he is presented as best as he can be. Viktor ties Yuuri’s skates as if preparing his soldier for battle — what if Yakov’s version is styling their hair?

okay. i feel like theres still Some People who may check the land of stories tag on here the way i occasionally do i know theres some fans of the series here at least. since a while back i wrote out an entire paragraph to briefly explain why im insane about lloyd bailey to my friends who dont know tlos, i figure, WHY NOT POST IT ON HERE where people who also know the series (and therefore this character) might see it <3 its at least a little funny to see how i try to explain things in tlos like the hall of dreams briefly with little to no details. this is also kind of like a brief summation of everything we know about lloyd AND JOHNS childhood which is interesting. see below.
sits down. let me set the scene. lloyd bailey is the younger son in a set of two. his mother is a very powerful fairy (#fairygodmother) who’s kind of like the chancellor of an entire kingdom. lloyd and his older brother john both very much have magic in their blood because of this. lloyd’s father dies when he is very young. he is “not the same” afterwards. he thinks his older brother john, who handles his fathers passing arguably “better”, is the favorite child. john is happy and cheerful and everyone loves him. lloyd sits in his dark room and reads books like the iron mask all day. lloyd’s mother does not know how to get to him. she figures out how to make a potion that can bring books to life, since he likes to read so much. she offers it to him. he turns her down. she goes into this magic little hallway (infinite space) where she can see what people truly desire. lloyd the 11 year olds desire (i don’t know how old he is.) is to take over the world. hm. a bit concerning. his mother takes him out into the forest on a nice walk, chains him to a tree, and drains his magic from him. lloyd is not a fan of his mother for this. he tells her that she never would’ve done this to john. his mother considers her action stopping him before he wreaks havoc on everything. lloyd considers this having his “birthright” stripped from him for “a crime [he] never committed” (direct quote). lloyd despises his mother. he runs away from home not long after. he considers the potion his mother made his. he only comes back home to try and steal it. he fails. he is sentenced to life in prison. his mother gives him a mask to wear so no one knows he’s her son. john moves to the otherworld and starts a family. lloyd rots in prison. lloyd’s son who he doesn’t know about is born. lloyd rots in prison. john dies. lloyd rots in prison. his mother loves john’s children and starts to train one of them in being her successor. this could’ve been lloyd. lloyd rots in prison. he doesn’t escape until his niece and nephew are teenagers and his niece is about ten times more powerful than him. because she has the gift that was ripped out of his hands. lloyd hates the world he lives in and its people and seeks to destroy it as soon as he’s out. i wonder why. in conclusion. im normal about him.

the thing about fibula is that eggman didn't pick him to be his guinea pig for necromancy for a reason. literally, he just randomly chose a grave to rob. fibula wasn't special... he just got "lucky." for the first time in his life. and isn't it ironic? this guy, who spent his whole life working so, so hard... for nothing... falls into the hands of a supervillain Just Because.
it's like spider-man, but twisted. you know?
and while fibula is mostly indifferent about eggman's cause, he pretty much instantly gets attached to eggman himself. because he's the one who gave him this second chance at life--without even being asked. it's the only time someone has ever offered fibula something so meaningful, and he holds onto it with all of his undead strength.
so, yes; fibula owes eggman. but he also just wants to prove that he deserves this second chance. to make eggman proud. because that old hardworking, people-pleaser attitude that fibula carried with him all his life isn't truly dead... it's just found a new source of motivation.
and the best part? eggman DOES appreciate fibula... for what he can do for the empire. finally, someone sees worth in him, and it solidifies his loyalty to a man who, in life, he certainly would have despised.

With a roar, Nie MingJue grabbed at Jin Ling. Both Jiang Cheng and Jin Ling had backed away to the corner of the wall, unable to retreat further. Jiang Cheng could only stuff Jin Ling behind him and unsheathe Sandu, which at the moment was unable to use spiritual energy, forcing himself to fend off the attack. Although both the guqin and the xiao had sounded, they were going to be too late!
Nie MingJue’s heavy fist punched through a body.
But the body was neither Jiang Cheng’s nor Jin Ling’s.
Wen Ning blocked himself before the wall, in front of the two of them. With both his hands, he grabbed Nie MingJue’s iron arm and slowly pulled it out of his chest, leaving behind a large, hollow hole. There was no bleeding. Only a couple of black organ crumbs fell out.
Wei WuXian, “Wen Ning!!!”
While Jiang Cheng looked as though he could lose his mind right there. He stammered, “You? You?!”
The punch was too strong. Not only did it pierce through Wen Ning’s chest, it also shattered a part of his larynx. Unable to say a single thing, he collapsed. With where he stood, he fell right onto Jiang Cheng and Jin Ling’s bodies. He was momentarily unable to move, but his eyes were still open, staring at them unblinkingly.
Jin Ling originally loathed the murderer, the weapon that pierced his father’s heart. Ever since he was young, he’d sworn countless times that if he had the opportunity, he’d definitely cut off the flesh from Wei Ying’s and Wen Ning’s bodies, piece by piece. Later, as he didn’t want to hate Wei WuXian, he hated Wen Ning with double the energy. But right now, as he watched the murderer, the weapon had his heart be pierced in the same way, he couldn’t even push Wen Ning rudely away so that he didn’t lean on them.
He knew he was dead. Much less having a hole in his body, even if he were to be snapped into two from his waist, he might not even end up with any serious consequences. But for some reason, he couldn’t stop his tears from spilling over his eyes.
[...]
Whistling, Wei WuXian sauntered around. The whistles were light and relaxed, yet within this Guanyin Temple amid a heavy storm, overflowing with corpses, the clarity of the sound appeared to be abnormally eery. As Wen Ning heard it, still lying at the corner on top of Jiang Cheng and Jin Ling, he seemed to have a strangely strong urge to stand up. Whether he held it back or he hadn’t regained the strength to move yet, he struggled for a while and collapsed again. Without thought, Jiang Cheng and Jin Ling went to catch him in unison, but after they caught him, they displayed the same hesitating expression of wanting to throw him down right then.

Part apology and part penance, he decides to take them to the beach after school to soften the blow of what he has to say. Of course, none of this goes according to plan.
Or, alternatively titled: coming out as a murderer to your surrogate children is hard.
