Everyone talks about how Appa is apparently obese for a sky bison and Aang is over feeding him. Undeserved in my opinion (hes just big boned obviously)
Tumblr media
But nobody talks about how Druk (Zuko's dragon) is a complete fatass compared to other dragons.
For example: These are pics of Roku's Dragon, Fang, and Sozin's Dragon
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Do you see how long and noodley they are. They're actual dragons too, not Wyverns like GoT dragons. (Note the 4 legs)
And heres Ran and Shaw:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
See, still very noodley. And these are quite old, large dragons.
And this? This is Druk:
Tumblr media
And Its not just the angle because even when he is sitting down he's fat
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Obviously Druk has lived a life of luxery, he's a pampered little prince

I'm gonna say it. I don't like when people go "Kyoshi was controlling Aang here" when Aang does anything remotely powerful in the avatar state. In the Kyoshi novels it's pretty much established the avatar state doesn't work that way (she described it as being conscious but having thousands of voices influence her actions, when you control the avatar state you can choose not to listen, it's not One past avatar that takes over) and it also undermines Aang's power and fighting spirit. Just because Aang is a pacifist doesn't mean he can't give someone a good beating, and we've always seen Aang find clever and witty ways to fight. You hear him making funny quips (kinda like spiderman) during fights because he's a child.
So no, when Aang grabbed Ozai's stupid goatie when he entered the avatar state, that wasn't Kyoshi or Yangchen controlling his actions. That was him, because it's established that Aang was in a controlled avatar state during that final fight. Ozai just told him his people deserved to die mere minutes prior, you would have pulled his beard and slapped the fire out of his hands too. Also, he's twelve, he probably thought it was hilarious

Young princes (Iroh and Ozai)
[random headcanons abt the og fire siblings] ➡️➡️
(English is not my first language, sorry)
In my head, there is atleast 15 year gap between Iroh and Ozai. So when Ozai was around 15, Iroh was in his early 30s, with a very successful military career.
Ozai is jealous and very insecure about his place in the family. He used to idolize iroh before he was consumed by envy. At this age, his feelings about iroh is a complicated mix of love, hate, jealousy and admiration. On the outside, he expresses all those emotions with anger.
Iroh on the other hand doesn’t give much thoughts about his teen brother. He does notice ozai’s weird behavior but he’s too occupied with his military career. He never had to work as hard as ozai for Azulon’s attention, but he’s good at being a soldier and somehow its easier to ignore the guilt if he just keeps pushing on, attack after attack. So Iroh is rarely home, but that doesn’t stop Azulon from comparing Ozai to him in every breath.

Mai: Zuko asked me to pretend to be his girlfriend because his father is homophobic but he ended up hating me so much that he was relieved when he found out Zuko was actually gay
Ty Lee: task failed successfully
Sokka: congrats on being so awful a girlfriend that you destroyed homophobia

7 Ways to Introduce the Villain.
Tumblr media
1. The Shadow
A lot of series go with the classic 'ominous shadowy figure in the background.' Here's Silco in Arcane. Sinister voice, sinister dude, sinister intent. Boom, you have your villain.
Tumblr media
2. The Slow Reveal
Other variations of the 'shadowy figure' in which the series draws out the reveal of the villain. Avatar: The Last Airbender doesn't reveal the Firelord until the final season, but his presence is felt throughout the series. He's always this looming threat whose will is carried out by his underlings. (General Zhao, Azula, etc.)
Tumblr media
3. The Fabulous Entrance!
Okay, so we do hear Ragyo on the phone a couple times before they actually show her face, but goddamn, this entrance. It is impressive and terrifying and, it perfectly suits the utter psycho that she is.
There is no normal expression this woman makes when she's 'happy.' She's always smug or angry or annoyed, but this face with her staring, manic eyes and smile still haunts me. Send help.
Tumblr media
4. The Sudden Entrance
Shigaraki kinda comes out of nowhere in My Hero Academia. For the first few episodes, its all lighthearted and fun and dealing with Bakugo's BS and then the class heads off on a field trip and suddenly,
"Oh, shit! Plot is happening!"
This series started off with kids learning to be heroes, and now its tragedy and social upheaval and people's lives are in danger.
Tumblr media
5. The Incognito Entrance
This is when some random nonthreatening dude/lady just kinda sidles into the plot the be the butt of a joke and later turns out to have been one of the villains.
This scene was so weird. Tyki is just minding his own business, scamming people at cards. Then Allen and Lavi show up looking for their friend (the guy currently being scammed), and even though he recognizes them as exorcists and his enemies, Tyki has to sit there and play it off like he doesn't know jack cause if he does anything, he's gonna blow his cover in front of his human buddies. And then he suffers the indignation of being stripped in a poker game in broad daylight because the main protagonist is absolutely evil with a card deck. And then he just walks away from this like it's a totally normal thing, not even really taking vengeance for it. (He went after Allen, sure, but that was more of a job than any personal vendetta.) He's not the main villain, but I couldn't resist pointing out how bizarre this is.
For those who haven't seen D. Gray Man, the guy in the center is one of the main antagonists, and though this is technically the second time you see him, the first encounter was so short it was practically a cameo and he was a Victorian-era, Dorian Gray dandy gentleman, not this hobo riding a train.
Tumblr media
6. The Traitor
Since the Undertaker was more of a neutral party in Black Butler, I don't think he really counts as a traitor. Still, I don't think too many of us were suspecting the morbid jokester Grim Reaper was going to turn out to be a major antagonist later on.
Tumblr media
7. The Protagonist
And sometimes the protagonist is the villain!

Incredibly specific moments in atla i think about ALL the time (i am Not normal)
Zuko's eyes slightly widening when witnessing Katara's bloodbending for the first time
Aang and Katara just missing each other looking back at the other after their argument in The Warriors of Kyoshi
Toph holding onto Sokka's arm once on Appa when he didn't have a saddle and once on the boat bringing them to the lake town
The moon being in full view as Suki tries to kiss Sokka in the Serpent's Pass, and the shadow returning as Sokka leaves
The "four seasons four loves" motif coming back throughout the episodes of the Northern Watertribe and specifically as Sokka gives himself up to serve in the battle against Zhao's seige and Yue turns away and quietly cries as she watches him walk off
Longshot talking for the first time ever as Jet lay dying
In that same breath, the way Toph says "he's lying" as they walk away from Jet knowing that he's going to die
Aang looking back at the Southern Airtemple ruins along with Momo as they fly away from it, seeing it disappear behind the clouds (this one specifically makes me cry so much)
The chants as Aang gets summoned by the Lion Turtle in book 3 being the SAME as the chants when Aang fuses with the ocean spirit in book 1 (there's other moments with these chants i think but i can't remember them off the top of my head)
Aang taking down Ozai's airship in the finale as his first attack and Sokka cheering him on like a proud older brother
Katara immediately without a shadow of a doubt responding "Aang won't lose" when Zuko questions if he'll be able to take on Ozai
Aang knowing Zuko was gonna fire at him in the crystal catacombs as soon as Zuko laid eyes on him (he gasped before Zuko even made a move) when even Azula wasn't sure what Zuko was gonna do in that scenario
