conclusions: I shouldn't be so surprised that nearly all of these mention tony in some way, but I am surprised that not many are actually from his pov. idk why, but I thought I wrote from tony's perspective a lot more than I do lol... also, I didn't think I had written so many non-stony ficlets recently, but I guess I'm branching out :P all in all, a fun experiment!

The first half of the song is from Tony perspective and Stone of course is up to no good. It is not a good relationship.

But then half way through it starts to flip to Stone's perspective as Tony move on (my choice is with Bucky but I will leave that up to you).

Of course, you can replace Stone with anyone else, I like bullying the guy.

Of course, dear one! So, Ironstrange is basically one of my OTPs in the MCU and I'm so sorry for not writing it soon! Anyway, I think it's more compatible if Tony was the one who got obsessive with Stephen, like, I belive that even in his own arrogant ways, Tony would indeed develop some interesting in magic and other stuff he does.

Besides, they both have very similar personality characteristics and it kind of makes it easier for Tony to actually approach Stephen and he would try to gain his affections, but obviously Stephen would deadpan-ly rejects him.

But it doesn't stop Tony, cause he's not known for acepting no for an answer until he receives a yes :]

Random headcanon In post-CACW Avengers tower verse, after his recovery, Bucky decides to get a job as a mechanic. Tony is deeply baffled by this and tries reminding him that he doesn't need a job, he's being sponsored by a billionaire, and that there are plenty of cars for him to putter around with in the tower's garage. Bucky doesn't care; he gleefully goes off to work each day.

Unpopular opinion Automatic rank progression doesn't work like that in the American military system and I'm tired of seeing cold takes of Rhodey should be saluting and deferring to Bucky.

Some of the most deluded and annoying people I have ever had the misfortune to meet in a fandom were stuckies. Like they are INFAMOUSLY terrible you are not alone.

It’s like, hey stuckies ur ship is a basic 2 hot white guts ship the fuck you mean “revolutionary”???

I'm not gonna insult st*cky shippers because uuuuh some of my otps are also 2 hot white guys lol.

That being said, the amount of vitriol I got because I liked Tony specifically 🙄 Like get off my dick I'm sorry I like a character that you don't. My stony/stuckony/winteriron writing in no way invalidates your st*cky stories will you please leave me alone.

Also I've actually enjoyed one or two st*cky stories but, lo and behold, it was two stories where Tony was not out of character. Like, in one of them, he's still the antagonist trying to break them up, but it was clear that the writer respected his character/made his motivations true to character. I don't hate the ship, I just can't find any I like where Tony is treated with respect OR the female character they're interested in in canon is treated so misogynistically that it physically grossed me out.

Tony just offered a casual wave of his hand. “Oh, c’mon, I’m sure you’ll use it all up eventually,” he said from his spot in the doorway, where he’d been taking in Steve’s reaction with a pleased grin. “You go through pencils quicker than you go through punching bags, no harm in having a little extra.”

Steve shook his head, gawking at the boxes of art supplies tucked away neatly just for him, still slightly overwhelmed by the sight of it all. Everything Steve had ever mentioned wanting, even in passing, was here, from a homey studio in the heart of Brooklyn to his favorite brand of watercolors, and while all of the thought that Tony had clearly put into this was very much appreciated—and heart-meltingly touching—Steve was having trouble wrapping his mind around the scale of it.

Over the course of their relationship, Tony had given him some pretty extravagant gifts, but nothing as big as a four-story art studio.

More and more often, whenever Bucky finds himself laying in bed or sprawled out on the couch, Alpine will come over and burrow under his shirt, curling up next to him.

He has to admit, it’s pretty cute when it first happens. It starts becoming strange the second time. And by the third, Bucky’s downright confused.

It made sense, with the way Bruce had proposed weekly team dinners once they’d all moved into the Tower; the way he always offered to come along whenever Nat announced that she was going on a grocery run or Steve mentioned a new bakery he wanted to try out; the way he gravitated toward the common areas, though primarily the kitchen, as if waiting to be joined by someone else in silent companionship.

But now, Tony could see that he was only half-right.

Because Bruce’s real love language was food.

Madara x Tobirama has a similar energy to Tony Stark x Bucky Barnes.

I have just realised that.

It's interesting that while I like a few Madatobi fics and can see the appeal, I do not really ship the ship, I am absolutely crazy about Hashimada - it's THE ship for me. It's my OTP. I adore them. On the other hand, in Marvel universe, I love Winteriron, Steve x Tony doesn't appeal to me at all, even though, I suppose, it's Marvel's variant of Hashimada.

Funny story before I found out the plot to civil war, I thought the movie was going to be like a steve and tony buddy time movie. Like how steve kind of had that with Natasha in winter soilder. Like whenI heard the title for the next movie and wasin the works of making it, I thought finally steve and tony are going to have a bonding movie as co leaders. Guess whos the idiot who never read the comics! Lol. Imagine my surprise when i found out it was a steve vs tony movie.

Same it was one of my otps before civil war! A Steve and Tony buddy time movie would’ve been nice. 😭 It’s okay I haven’t really read the comics either. Civil war killed my love for stony but awakened my love for winteriron!

I'm forever and always going to love FrostIron, WinterFrost, WinterIron, Stucky, and a whole bunch of other Marvel ships. Since I'm currently not working on any fanfic, the ship I currently like a lot doesn't have a ship name. It's the main characters of my original WIP: Alexandra "Xan" Duquesne and Jackson D'Andre "JD" Avery. They're childhood besties (his dad and her mom were BFFs in college), teenage lovers, and as adults they suffer from being idiots in love. Did I mention he was in a boyband? Yeah. It's based off of an *NSYNC fanfic, so. They're my babies at the moment.

C - A ship you have never liked and probably never will.

Uhh...a few. Pepperony, WinterWidow, or any ship involving Doctor Strange.

L - Say something genuinely nice about a character who isn’t one of your faves. (Characters you’re neutral about are fair game, as are characters you merely dislike. Characters that you absolutely loathe with the fire of ten thousand suns are exempt, as there is no point in giving yourself an aneurysm over a character that you hate.)

Both Natasha Romanov and Pepper Potts are BAMF women. I genuinely adore the characters in the comics and most times in fanfic. But I absolutely hate their portrayals in the MCU. I'll leave it at that.

So I'm kind of exhausted. I'll name three characters for three different fandoms but I'm totally not explaining why they're my faves. If you know me, it should make sense, LOL.

are there any differences in how your approach writing stevetony compared to stories where one of them is involved in another romantic pairing?

It was pretty funny to get this question right before I got tagged in a rec of one of my two Winteriron fics. The universe has a theme, I guess.

I haven't written a whole lot of stories for Steve and Tony where the endgame is another pairing -- I have a couple Winteriron stories, and I have a Clint/Steve story, and even though the Steve/Batroc story ends up Steve/Tony I feel like they end in an amicable enough place that it should count. This is in contrast with, say, Tony/Ty, because while I would say that I ship them it's not because I think their relationship is the OTP kind of thing. Tony's sure not with Ty because Ty's going to make him happy, anyway. They fulfill a different narrative need in my soul.

I don't think I've written any stories with other pairings that are as tightly tied to canon as a lot of my Steve/Tony fic is -- I tend to write a lot of fic that is like "okay, how do Steve and Tony feel about each other now that this one specific canon event has happened to both of them" (like Civil War, or the Judgment Day fic I am currently writing) whereas my other-pairing fic is like "it probably takes place at this time but it's not based on a specific thing that they underwent together and possibly these characters didn't even know each other in canon then so you'll have to use your imagination." I think it's a little trickier as a writer because then you have to do more of the heavy lifting yourself to show why they'd be good together whereas with Steve and Tony it's like "obviously we all know that these guys are in love because we have issues and issues about how they feel about each other and we can mention a couple things and then just skip to the getting-together bit." Possibly this is because I am just The Most OTP about Steve/Tony.

The dynamics are obviously different. Clint and Steve have this kind of antagonistic hero worship thing going on that is definitely Them and would look really, really weird in a Steve/Tony story. And when I write Bucky/Tony it seems like a lot of it ends up being about Steve anyway, even if Steve isn't the focus -- like, if that Cold War Winteriron story had been Steve/Tony instead, Tony would have cared way sooner about how Steve was slowly losing his mind. Steve's situation matters to him once he knows what it is, but Steve is kind of just hovering around the edges of the story there. Canonically, Bucky and Tony's initial dynamic is very much defined by the absence of Steve (by which I mean that Bucky tries to kill Tony because he thinks Tony is responsible for Steve's death), so I think when I write them Steve still has to factor in, even if he's not part of the pairing.

It's different, is what I am saying. But it's still fun.
