Idia: And speaking of which, Whistle Park is one of the best places on Sage's Island with a ton of those spots. It's the most efficient place to make my rounds.

Riddle: Ah, that's more like it. But for it to even drag you outdoors… That game must be particularly invigorating.

Idia: I mean, not really? It's got a pretty common gameplay, and I planned on ignoring it, 'cause it's not relevant to a shut-in like me.

Idia: But then Ortho was all, "Hey, let's play together, Nii-san!" and started looking up all the hotspots on Sage's Island…

Idia: Looked like we could have more fun with it than I thought, so I said fine, I guess…

Idia: …I guess it wouldn't be terrible to be able to adventure with Ortho while we're here for school.

It's quite a rowdy affair! (Don't ask me why a random police officer is gate crashing a kid's birthday party - I don't know.)

I'm not sure that Auntie Cassandra is being a good influence on her young nieces.

The next morning, with all the kids off to school, it's time for Frances and Green Bean to finally get away for a few days. They postponed their honeymoon until nappy changing and potty training were a thing of the past, to make life easier for the grandparents who have been left in charge of their brood!

They've left behind the wintry shores of Lake Merymere for the sunny climes of Twikkii Island, on a last-minute deal. Frances didn't even have time to change out of her work uniform before they set off!

While she checks in at their budget hotel...

...Green Bean talks politics with the local residents.

Frances is given a warm greeting by the locals herself...

Alone at last.

This is the life - with their own private suite to chill out in together. Green Bean relates to Frances the fascinating conversation he had with the residents of the aquarium downstairs.

Shopping for holiday outfits is a must.

After three kids in quick succession, Frances isn't sure that she can pull off wearing such a skimpy dress, but Green Bean disagrees - he thinks his beautiful wife would look terrific in anything!

He's also chosen a cheery new shirt for himself.

Then it's time to hit the karaoke machine (although I think they both actually have something else on their minds...)

Fun-loving Frances is in her element. Never one to be self-conscious, Green Bean throws himself into the experience too!

Their performance gets a positive reception from the hotel bartender.

Alrighty, meet my girl Pennsylvania !!!

Her human name is Rebecca Ida Franklin, and she's physically 23. She's the 13th oldest state, and celebrates her birthday on December 12th.

Rebecca has an interesting personality. She's hardworking, intelligent, calm, industrious, observant, patient, down-to-earth, level headed, loyal and slightly curt at times, though usually unintentionally. She's typically no-nonsense and serious when it comes down to it, and she's a very hard worker. She's good about getting stuff done and does dislike laziness, but she's not one to berate others for it. Some more fun facts about her:

She's 5'10 or 178 cm in height. She's one of the tallest female states, only being shorter than Alaska and California.

She has roughly type 1C hair

She's Delaware's little sister, though ironically she's a full six inches taller than him.

Outside of the Indigenous languages in her state, she speaks English, Spanish, Dutch, German, Hebrew and Pennsylvania Dutch fluently. She speaks Swedish quite well, and speaks some Cantonese, Mandarin, French and Yiddish.

She's religiously Jewish.

She played the biggest role in the American Industrial Revolution, providing a lot in the way of steel, iron ore and textiles. As such, she has a deep love and skill for mechanics, engineering, construction, technology and anything of the sort. She can repair cars, remodel homes, fix broken wiring, design vehicles and many other things. It's a skill she's kept to this day.

She loves dogs, and exclusively owns Great Danes and German Shepherds.

She will actively complain about literally any type of weather. Outside of the weather, however, she hates complaining and will avoid doing so.

She's overall the 13th oldest state, but among the 13 colonies, she's the 10th oldest. She was physically 15 during the American Revolution, and stole two houses from England during it.

She's generally pretty respectful and keeps to herself. She always minds her own business, and dislikes getting wrapped up in other peoples drama or problems; however, she's always willing to lend a hand with anything mechanical.

She's the go-to car mechanic for many of the states, and Alfred himself.

She gets along well with Germany, Netherlands and Sweden, but she will argue with England pretty much on sight. She's friends with a few of the other states, such as Virginia and Rhode Island.

She argues a lot with New Jersey, though he starts most of it.

She doesn't necessarily dislike high-tech things, and will use super high-tech things if they make her life easier. However, she is generally wary of new technology and prefers to use her old, tried and true methods.

She does use technology and such quite often, but she does like doing things without technology when she can.

Like many of the other 13 colony states, she remains quite close to Alfred. She actually hosted his first official birthday party, and continues to often host his birthday parties.

She's one of the physically stronger states, thanks to her hobby of working with heavy machinery.

She's surprisingly very into snacking and junk food.

Her accent actually tends to switch depending on where she is. If she's staying in Philadelphia she tends to take on a Philadelphian accent, but outside of the city her accent leans towards Appalachian.

She had long hair up until the Industrial Revolution, when she cut it short to avoid any accidents.

She has at least one scar- a burn mark on her shoulder from the burning of Pennsylvania Hall.

Hello again, tumblr!

It's 2023... and the last time I wrote in this was around New Years Eve for 2020. What's happened since then?

2020 - Hudson and I were living in NJ with my parents and older brother. I celebrated my 29th birthday at the bowling alley in Wallington with friends and cousins. I visit Gabby and Allyssa in DC right before hit the global pandemonium. My brother and I both worked in logistics operations at the time and were working in-person while many took to working from home. I remember being pretty envious of people who were able to be remote, and some who got to travel out of it. But it was such a twisted time, as so many were really holding it together in hospitals. Vaccinations were a thing, though a controversial topic apparently. I know people who lost people. My parents lost friends. Throughout that year I worked mostly. Later in the fall, began to spend time with just my cousins when dining opened back up-- outdoors and socially distanced of course. In the end tail of the summer I started doing online workouts with Chloe Ting, a youtuber, and ended up losing a deal of weight. My cousin Justine had gotten engaged-- the first of the younger cousins to get married (to follow in 2021). Work was rough, a tough crowd. I learned I wasn't good at managing a team. I left logistics ops (HR) to work in the NY office in the fall. Holidays were different that year. Everything was.

2021 - Things really started opening up. I celebrated my 30th birthday with Mitsuwa lunch and a workout at OT, and earlier my girlie cousins and I went to Domo Domo. In March, Shalane, Adrian and Simba moved to Vermont. I met my trainer, Anthony at 24H Fitness in April. Justine celebrated her bachelorette party in NYC (The Roxy, custom perfumes, Boucherie). Their wedding took place in Long Island. Kelly, Hudson and I visit Vermont later that summer for Adrian's proposal and officiating their civil ceremony. Hudson and I moved to an apartment in Brooklyn near East Williamsburg with Jelly (371 glory days). I dated a bunch (hello hinge and bumble). Mia visited in October! Jelly showed me the Brooklyn Museum, we went to NYBG, Hometown Hot Pot, Caffe Palermo (Cannoli King!), Anthony and Sons, Graham Ave... Ok I'm getting sad reminiscing on the wonderful memories. Tarot cards for fun, angel numbers, Case Kenny... I visit Austin a couple of times and Jelly joined me for one of them.

Oh and on NYE we celebrated in our pajamas and in our apartment, and woke up with Covid the next day. :)

2022 - I cried on the subway earlier in this year... lol. I celebrated my birthday by doing a boudoir shoot based in Greenpoint right off of McCarren. I met Francisco on hinge. I spent a lot of time between Long Island where he lived, Brooklyn, and NJ. I visit Seattle for the first time 2x since moving back/the pandemic. I started a new position as an HR Specialist focused on data. I was Shalane's best woman in her wedding and planned her bachelorette party in Cape Cod and bridal shower. Hudson was the dog of honor, too (wipes sweat from face). With the help of my family, I purchased a condo in North NJ and moved again, hopefully for a while. Later that year, Marcole and Jourdave became engaged. Cisco and I went on a few trips including one to visit his family in FL.

A little beacon in the moonlight, Jungkook watches you curl up by the lake, your head popping up right where the moon leaps over the water. Making sure the baby monitor is connected up and running to the guest bedroom, he sneaks around the kitchen island, on a mission to find his peace offering. 

“You literally ran the party from top to bottom, why the hell are you still up?” 

You look up from the little nest you’ve created in the outdoor patio glider, and Jungkook holds up a chilled wine bottle and two champagne glasses. 

Holding up your phone you reply, “I just got off the phone with a cousin of mine. Figured I’d enjoy the view for a few minutes before heading off, but a nightcap won’t hurt.” 

Jungkook carefully pours the amber liquid in each of your glasses, making sure the bubbles don’t overflow at the lip. He sits gently on the swing, making sure not to jostle the two of you. Gently brushing his fingers to yours to hand you your drink, he gestures to his glass so they clink together softly. 

He watches as your body curls underneath the blanket you brought, feet disappearing and brushing against his thighs. Planting one foot on the soft grass, Jungkook gently swings the both of you into a soft rhythm. 

“So, did you like the party?” 

“Of course, I’ll never forget it,” Jungkook smacks his lips together, enjoying the warmth the sweet liquid brings to his face, “did you?” 

Jungkook genuinely hopes you had a good time. Everytime Haru smiled, tried something new, jumped like a maniac in the bounce house, Jungkook would turn around half-expecting you to be there and share the moment. Sena was there, and his parents were there, which was also great. But it was you that searched town to search for all the new desserts Haru would like, you that booked the bounce house, you that made Haru so happy on her special day. 

“Yeah, I’m happy no one poked the bounce house with those lamb skewers,” you relax against the swing, kicking your bare legs. “Would kill us if we didn’t get that security deposit back.” 

“I felt like I had a little too much fun,” Jungkook scrunches his nose, eyes clinging to the beautiful reflection of the moon-filled lake, “you did way too much work, you know that?” 

You continue to swing your legs mindlessly, “You had a crazy year. You deserved to be happy with your daughter on her first birthday.” 

He doesn’t understand how you could downplay how awesome you are. Amazing, completely. Even dressed down in a ratty old college t-shirt and shorts, you still are a dynamite human. 

“So, where’s Sena?” 

He almost forgets about the events that conspired not two hours ago. He slumps forward, his shoulders feeling heavy as he reflects on his last conversation with Sena. 

“She left,” Jungkook shrugs, swirling the honey in his glass, “got a call from her manager and took the first flight out of here. I think it’s decided,” Jungkook affirms, “she’s not coming back.” 

“Oh, I’m sorry,” and you truly sound sorry. You put your finished glass down on the ground, and you reach over to put your free hand over his, “I know how much you wanted this to work,” you bite your lip nervously, “and I may have told her off today at the party. So it could be partially my fault.”

This interests Jungkook greatly. He raises a brow, running a hand through his dark chocolate tresses. “You, telling someone off? And I had to miss that?” 

"It was probably for the best," you rub your neck sheepishly, lowering your head, "I just told her that if she wants to be part of you and Haru's life, she needs to be all in or all out. I'm sorry if that's overstepping—”

“You’re my backbone,” Jungkook slices through your rambling, pointedly looking at you and hoping you'd reach his eyes. 

“It’s just one party, Kook. No big deal—”

“No, you’ve always been my backbone, you know that?” Jungkook says, tone serious, “I know, it’d be selfish for me to expect that you’ll be around forever. I thought maybe you'd be around for a week after I called you, but twelve months later for some reason you're still coming around," he chuckles, "but honestly? I wouldn't have wanted to do this with anyone but you, including Sena." 

"Kook, you don't mean that—”

He squeezes your hand purposefully, "I do. Even if I date and find someone new, I still want you to be a part of Haru's life. Thank you so much, for taking care of her." 

"Oh Jungkook," you lean your head on his shoulder, wrapping your arms around his waist. The warmth of your skin seeps between his sweatshirt, and he subconsciously tenses at the intimacy, "you know that I'm not doing it just for Haru. I'm doing it because I care about you too." 

"Fuck, don't make me cry," he half jokes, but he's thankful you're looking at the moon because he does feel his eyes grow wet. He shoves his cheek against the crown of your head, relishing in your touch. Of course, the intuitive person you are, you squeeze tighter around his body when you sense his need for affection, "so, we're good?" 

"Yeah, we're good." 

The two of you relax against each other's warmth, silently admiring the beautiful night. The stars manage to seep its way through the navy blanket in the countryside, illuminating the backyard with speckles of glitter. Jungkook doesn't know how long he sits there, swinging lightly with you. 

A familiar ring tone startles the both of you apart, recognizing the familiar chime coming from the baby monitor app. 

"It's Haru," he gets up, grabbing empty glasses and wine, "probably needs a change or something." 

"Oh, can I please do it?" despite being tired through your bones and muscles, you pop out eagerly and follow him inside, "I barely saw her today."

Jungkook smiles fondly, "Of course." 

The both of you pad barefooted into Namjoon's house, careful not to wake up the other guests. In Jungkook's bed, there's a pillow fence casing Haru around the perimeter of the mattress, making sure she doesn't fall off. 

She isn't crying or anything, just awake. She kicks and swings her body around like a starfish, suddenly interested in the lace trim blanket that looks transparent around her ankles. 

"Hello bubby," you whisper excitedly, using the rocker on the wall to bathe the room in a low yellow light. 

You don't think twice, scooping Haru in your arms spinning slowly around the room. You do all the checks, running your fingers over her onesie for any drool or sweat, you pinch her diaper to see if it needs to be changed, and most importantly, you give her a little kiss in greeting. 

"Bu bu," Haru says, a big smile on her face, “Mama!” 

He watches from the doorhenge, as if he's intruding on a moment. Jungkook half-expects you to correct her. He watches your expression carefully, ready to take Haru away from you if need be. 

But instead you snuggle her tighter and murmur, "Yeah, I'm here."

For some inexplicable reason, Jungkook is still awake. You’ve occupied his guest room, snuggling with Haru. The bed is big enough for the three of you, but he’s still plagued with thoughts, caught by how picturesque the two of you looked, warm and comfortable. 

“Yo,” Yoongi is sleeping on the couch, dressed in only his boxers and an oversized sweatshirt. He stumbles into the kitchen, reaching for the water container and a plastic cup. 

Jungkook watches Yoongi pad through the island, as if he’s walking through molasses, thick with sleep. He’s gotten to know Yoongi more closely up until Sena left during her first visit, not intentionally, only because whenever he invited you, Yoongi attached himself at the hip. 

Jungkook supposes Yoongi is a good guy, even after the heartbreak in college. He still holds a minor vendetta to that for hurting you, but since you’re all smiles and laughs he supposes he can call it a truce. 

Yet his bittersweet thoughts materialize without a second thought, “Are you and her dating?” 

Yoongi doesn’t miss a beat, chuckles as he wipes his lips with the back of his hand, “No.” 

“Oh, are you planning to ask her out?” 

“Nah.” 

“Why not,” Jungkook’s face falls, so much with disdain Yoongi fights the urge to reel back, “she’s a great woman. Any guy or girl would be lucky to have her.”

“Yeah, but not the woman for me.” 

“What’s that supposed to mean?”

Riddle: My only experience with the outdoors comes from my club's training camps, so I'm not sure how much use I could serve…

Malleus: Oh, so you wish to decline my request? It is lonely indeed to be refused by a fellow Dorm Leader.

Riddle: That look… Are you enjoying yourself at my expense? I'm certain that anyone would be acceptable for you.

Malleus: Heh, that's exactly right. I would be perfectly fine on my own.

Malleus: I would simply need to fly until I come across land, for there would be no danger that I would deplete my magic before I arrive.

Riddle: …How about in the circumstance where your magic would not work on the deserted island? Do you not think you would change your selection?

Malleus: However, even if there is no cave, as long as I am able to find a large boulder, I can crush and excavate it with my bare hands and easily secure a shelter.

Malleus: Indeed.

Riddle: Th-then, how about meal preparation? That isn't something that can be solved by strength alone.

Sims 4: Flower Legacy Challenge

This legacy challenge was created by cloudiecake, glassyyx and liaclynn! We hoped to allow players to try more aspects of the game that they have not delved into yet. We also made sure to have BGC options for each generation! We really hope you enjoy.

Basic Rules:

It’s basically the same rules as any other legacy challenge

No cheating (unless specified).

The heirs can be any gender, sexuality, etc.

Money cheats are allowed, but not excessively.

Lifespan should be set to normal.

For likes and dislikes, you may add additional ones in CAS if wanted.

You may live wherever you please unless specified otherwise.

Every generation passes down a family heirloom (on their teenage birthday).

Note: We have decided to release the entire challenge we’ve come up with, however, please note that it isn’t entirely play-tested! If you notice things are impossible to achieve while playing, please let me know and we will tweak the challenge accordingly. All three of us will be playing as well.

Generation 1 - Delphinium 

You grew up in foster care, bouncing from home to home until finally, you had enough. You decided to pack your bags and run away, hoping for a fresh start. This fresh start isn’t all you had dreamed of, however, and you struggle to find a proper job. Instead, you do odd jobs and the occasional theft to keep yourself afloat. When you have children, they become your entire world, wanting to give them everything you never had as a child.

INTRO

adrien’s childhood was as simple as they come.

two devoted parents, a white picket fence, there was nothing out of the ordinary about him, at least to the outside world.

to him, he lived a life full of magic. a life that saw beef turn into comfort, and chicken into warmth - that carried spices on the air like perfume and kept him starry eyed, every day, about what he might find on the dining room table.

his parents’ love for cooking was apparent to him at an early age and he adopted it quickly, padding after them in the kitchen as soon as he was old enough to walk.

and while most kids his age would hate trading in nights with their friends for closing shifts at their parents’ restaurant, adrien considered it a gift. he looked forward to every moment he spent in that small american bistro, eking knowledge and focus from his mom and dad even when he was just bussing tables. 

perhaps, then, it was no real surprise when high school graduation came and went and adrien was on the first flight out of california, driven by a dream to learn food in all its forms.

those early years on his own went by in a blur, most of his days spent country to country, immersing himself as deep as their food culture would let him.

in his 30s, though, everything changed as he stumbled on an unexpected but easy focus: wine. though not cuisine outright, adrien saw it as a unique gateway to it - something that, at its very core, had ways of enhancing food in ways that many other alcohols didn’t. 

so, in a move that shocked just about everyone who knew him, he returned to the us to pursue sommelier training -- and the rest, they say, is history.

with school behind him, adrien returned to the road, spending a few years here and there as a sommelier in his favorite cities to grow his expertise.

but he wouldn’t be him if he didn’t give into whim and move somewhere completely unfamiliar for the experience alone --- which is how he finds himself at magnetic island, a few months shy of his fortieth birthday and ready to start anew for the umpteenth time.

as the god of cheesemaking, beekeeping, and olive growing, adrien’s true identity really shines in his inherent skill for menu crafting and wines. there isn’t a cheese he can’t match perfectly with a wine, which is typically his go-to skill for a job interview or party trick; and that skill has made it easier for him to suggest wines for restaurants to buy based on their menu.

not long after moving to the island, he pseudo-adopted an outdoor cat that stops by his bungalow nearly every day - he calls her gouda.

This legacy challenge was created by cloudiecake, kiwilyz and liaclynn! We hoped to allow players to try more aspects of the game that they have not delved into yet. We also made sure to have BGC options for each generation! We really hope you enjoy.

Basic Rules:

It’s basically the same rules as any other legacy challenge

No cheating (unless specified).

The heirs can be any gender, sexuality, etc.

Money cheats are allowed, but not excessively.

Lifespan should be set to normal.

For likes and dislikes, you may add additional ones in CAS if wanted.

You may live wherever you please unless specified otherwise.

Every generation passes down a family heirloom (on their teenage birthday).

Note: We have decided to release the entire challenge we’ve come up with, however, please note that it isn’t entirely play-tested! If you notice things are impossible to achieve while playing, please let me know and we will tweak the challenge accordingly. All three of us will be playing as well.

WHEN YOU WAKE UP, you smell coffee already brewing. You stretch leisurely as you pad into the main part of your shared apartment, faux-flirtatious smile already gracing your lips.

“Smells good, baby!” You call. The laughter dissipates from your body as you pause in the kitchen doorway. Wanda is indeed sipping coffee in the kitchen, but is also standing between the legs of a tall, rather buff girl you’ve never seen before who’s perched comfortably on your island. “Oh.”

"Jill, this is my roommate, Y/N," Wanda says, perfectly at ease. You wonder if your eye really does twitch at the sight of Wanda's hand on Jill's thigh, but you pray it's just your imagination.

“Hi, uh, I didn’t - we’re not - hi.” Your face burns as you duck past them, reaching up into the cabinet for your mug before realizing it’s missing. Well, more or less. It’s significantly darker out now, and this time you’re putting leftover Chinese food in the fridge when the door bursts open. Buzzcut’s name was Yasmine, she was in Wanda’s European lit. course, and they’d gone out for drinks to celebrate Yasmine nearing the acquirement of her masters. You stare into your cup and hum at all the appropriate points, choosing not to point out that it was only November and nowhere near graduating season. Maybe Yasmine was on the fast track - Wanda always did like the smart ones. 

You become so absorbed in thought you don’t notice at first that your housemate has stopped chittering away. When you look up, it’s to a pouty frown. You shift in your seat, suddenly uncomfortable. “What?”

“Are you...okay?” Wanda’s frown deepens, brows furrowed as she brushes a stray lock of auburn from her face and folds her arms over her chest. “We...You’ve been a little distant lately, I guess.” 

“I’m fine,” You say breezily, rising to your feet to dump the dregs of your coffee in the sink. Some irritating heartstring twangs at your tone - you hate brushing Wanda off, but what are you supposed to say? Hey, can you stop bringing girls home? I think I’ve caught homophobia. You repress a shudder at the mere thought as you move to sweep past her and get ready for your first class, but a small hand curls around your bicep.

“Just...don’t be a stranger, okay, kedvesem?” Darling. Swallowing the lump in your throat, feeling curiously parched, you can only nod. Wanda lets go, but you can feel her fingerprints burning like a brand even when you’re lying in bed that night.

The holidays go off more or less without a hitch; there’s a very scary hiccup shortly before Christmas when you come home to find Wanda curled into Vision’s side on the couch, the pair of them sharing a blanket. But Wanda looks...as if she’s been crying? Love Actually is playing, Wanda’s go to Christmas comfort movie, and Vision is texting someone called ‘Peter M.’ with an alarming number of heart emojis, so you continue onward. 

Your subconscious must be looking out for you otherwise, because it’s not until New Year’s that you see Wanda with a mystery lover. Actually, you don’t see much of Wanda at all outside of Christmas, and even when you do, it’s always just the two of you at home. Of course, because of this, she insists on dragging you out for a New Year’s party. When her twin, Pietro, gangs up on you via Facetime, you give up arguing and steal a shimmery black slip from Wanda’s closet before flipping them the bird. 

Pietro arrives around 10 to pick the pair of you up, obnoxiously laying on the horn outside of your apartment building. Wanda trips several times as she tries to shove on her other heel and put lipstick on at the same time. Making it out the door is a whole other ordeal - after a short spat about Wanda needing a jacket, an awkward moment when the elevator doors open on some neighbors practicing for midnight, and finding Pietro just about to buzz in to get you, you and Wanda are sliding into the backseat of Pietro’s obnoxiously cramped sports car.

“Ladies, your prince, or princess, awaits!” Pietro announces grandly as you pull up to a shabby loft just a few blocks away. You can hear the music from the street, sighing inwardly as you force yourself to get out of the car. Wanda smooths out her flowy black pants - you keep your eyes trained politely above her shoulders to ignore the fitted, maroon sequined top with the plunging V-neck she’s paired with them. 

“I’m actually meeting someone here,” She says casually to her brother as the three of you make your way in. Pietro waves her off with well-wishes, but throws you a questioning glance. All he gets however is a shrug in reply, this is certainly news to you. He accompanies you to the makeshift bar where you fill a cup with copious amounts of liquor. It usually wasn’t your vice, but the strobe lights alone could be cause to drink. You made a mental note to ask whose idea this party even was in the first place. when you turn around, though, Pietro, too, has slipped off into the crowd.

So you do what one is supposed to do at sweaty, too-loud functions such as this one - push yourself from your comfort zone, get comfortably tipsy while you wedge yourself into the mass of bodies and move with strangers. As mentioned, liquor and strangers have never been favorite pastimes of yours, so once you finish off your second drink (maybe third - you deserved it), you set out searching for Wanda. Her glittery form is tucked into a corner with a small group you don’t recognize, but you definitely note that she’s in the lap of a tall, dark, and handsome type. She spots you before you can get to her, making excited grabby hands as you get closer. 

“Y/N!” The bubbly young woman squeals over the music. She leans forward to be heard better, and you gulp. “This is Beck! And Jade, and Marcie, and you remember Yasmine!” 

You offer only a wave and tight smiles as you, too, lean in further. “I’m gonna get an Uber!”

“What?” Wanda pouts dramatically, Beck snaking an arm around her waist to steady her as she jolts back in disappointment. “It’s not even midnight yet!”

“No, I know, I’m just not really feeling it, I guess!” Yasmine leads over to whisper something to Jade; it’s the furthest thing from your mind as Wanda reaches out to squeeze your hands understandingly. 

“I’ll see you later! Kisses!” You repeat the word weakly before shoving once more through the mass. The sidewalk and cool bite of the outdoors is a welcome respite - your driver doesn’t speak all the way to your apartment, and you give them 5 stars for it. After a cold, quick shower, you curl up in your fuzziest bathrobe with a cup of coffee and flick through Netflix. You know when midnight rolls around when the neighbors upstairs, hosting a party of their own, cheer and shout to each other. It can’t be 20 minutes later that your door is met with a tentative knock.

On the other side is Vision in the most disarray you’ve seen him in - he’s in pajamas, for Pete’s sake, hair and glasses askew over a chunky knit sweater. He’s supporting an equally-bleary but much more drunk Wanda, and passes her to you with a wrinkled nose.

“Y/N!” She crows, dissolving into giggles as you shushed her. “I wondered where you went.” 

“I told you I was coming home, bubs,” You mutter, hugging her back briefly before you notice Vision is still standing in your entryway. “Hey, how about you go get changed, and then I’ll make you some eggs?”

Wanda agrees, talking animatedly even as she walks away. You look back at Vision, smiling wearily. “Thanks for bringing her home safe, Vis. Did you want a cup of coffee, or...?”

“No, thank you,” Vision quips, polite as ever as he tugs his sweater down over his hands. He jerks his dimpled chin the direction Wanda had disappeared in. “Take care of her, please.”

“Of course,” You reply, instantly, brows furrowing. He nods briskly before turning to leave. “Thank you again.”

“Of course. Goodnight.” He’s almost to the elevators when you call a ‘Happy New Year’ after him, and that earns you a smile. “Happy New Year to you as well, Y/N.”

Back inside, you find Wanda spread eagle on her bed in mismatched socks, an old college hoodie, and the same underwear you’re pretty sure she wore to go out tonight. You poke her heel and she makes a frankly unhuman gurgle into the duvet. “How much did you have?”

“Nah a lah,” Is her muffled reply. “We’on dwink anymo’.” 

You realize she’s right, though you figured she was at least taking some of those dates to bars. Maybe not, though - Wanda was always a romantic. You push the mere though away and tug at the arm closest to you. “Yeah, I know. You’ll feel better if you eat something, though.” 

Her protesting grunts are less effective than when she kicks out blindly, narrowly avoiding your hip, and you huff. “Fine, I’ll bring the food to you.”  You make to leave, but she’s captured your wrist now. Wanda turns her head to make powerful puppy eyes at you. “Stay. Sleepy.” 

“I...yeah. Okay.” You were still a little tipsy in your own right - neither of you were college kids anymore, after all. Wanda’s smile was blinding as the pair of you made your way under her numerous layers of blankets. When she turned the lamp off, you wondered if she could hear your heart thundering in the dark.

“Y/N?” She whispers, just when you think she’s fallen asleep. 

“Yes, Wanda?” 

“I love you.”

You hum in acknowledgment, brushing it off as dreaming.

Midday, you’re roused by someone laying across your stomach and shaking you awake. It’s Wanda, long lashes fluttering prettily as she rests her chin on folded elbows. You scrub sleep from your eyes as you croak, “Morning, sunshine.”

“Morning, Y/N.” She says your name with purpose - sort of always has, you realize. You’re running over last night in your head, and like a mind reader, Wanda answers your every question. “Hey.”

“Yeah?”

“Still love you.” Wanda murmurs. You meet her gaze - completely clear, if not a little glazed over with absolute adoration. She pushes up a little, lips hovering over yours. They brush just barely when you speak, sparking like live wires. 

“I love you, too,” You breathe, and finally, finally, she kisses you. 

Things make so, so much more sense then.
