Captains America Reunite in “Captain America: Cold War”

Steve Rogers and Sam Wilson have both been using the mantle of Captain America in the pages of Captain America: Sentinel of Liberty by Jackson Lanzing, Collin Kelly, and Carmen Carnero and Captain America: Symbol of Truth by Tochi Onyebuchi and R.B. Silva. Now the two Captains are about to reunited for the crossover event Captain America: Cold War.

Spoilers ahead.

Cold War kicks off with a prelude in Captain America: Sentinel of Liberty #11. Captain America and the Invaders are free of M.O.D.O.C.’S mind control, but now the Outer Circle has arrived. Steve will have to fight the Power and end the Outer Circle’s invasion of Manhattan for good.

Captain America: Sentinel of Liberty goes on sale on April 5, 2023.

Captain America: Cold War Alpha #1, featuring a cover by Patrick Gleason, goes on sale on April 12, 2023.

Captain America: Symbol of Truth #12 is part two of Cold War. Will Sam Wilson and Steve Rogers be able to agree on the priorities needed to end the newest threat? White Wolf has taken control of Dimension Z and set the creatures on Sam and Steve and it also turns out that the Outer Circle has more stakes in the fight than the Captains realized. Also, What are Bucky’s plans for Ian Rogers?

Captain America: Symbol of Truth #12 goes on sale on April 26, 2023.

if you havent seen hadestown in person (or otherwise) i need you to know that in the center of the stage a giant circle is inlaid. (two, if you want to be precise) it can spin in place, and the middle is a platform that raises up and down at certain points in the show. you can see it unmoving here in this gifset. it makes for some truly captivating choreo

but more importantly is what it silently adds to the layers of metaphor;

hadestown as being an inherently cyclical, doomed to repeat story. we keep telling it, hermes tells us, despite the ending always being the same. (we gasp, the audience, every time orpheus turns around. why?)

hadestown, taking place on a stage with a turning table. where the characters keep walking in circles, over and over, forever.

I'm back with my cambion and with a lil bit of completely useless information about him. And also a bit of my pain from the prev weekend. I usually spend it on all sorts of small sketches and other joys, but this time I decided to spend it on suffering and another attempt at animation (down bellow)…

So, Nazir is a devilish clerk whose distorted parody of a heart entirely belongs to the world of financial frauds, pyramids and other small scams aimed not so much at murder or robbery, but at spreading discord in society everyday life. His a very "fell in love with his work"-kinda guy, who picks up the same "fallen" servants (well, or those who can be persuaded to fall).

I was reading through ur answers to questions abt the TTC, and in one u said that Tom would never consider killing Draco unless it was Draco’s life or his own, in which case he’d always choose himself. If it were Draco in that position instead, himself or Tom, what decision do you think he’d make? Both of them have strong senses of self-preservation.

While I do think of both of them as low-empathy people with strong senses of self-preservation, I see Draco as having a wider circle of people he includes within his little bubble of selfishness—those being Lucius, Narcissa and Tom. Further, in TTC, Draco is very isolated. Tom is the only one in that world who actually knows who he is and, as Draco sees it, is the only one who cares about him beyond superficial acquaintances. His family are the only ones he would sacrifice himself for and, as he said in Bluebeard, he considers Tom his family.

The fact that Jodie Comer swept all the major awards for theater is crazy: OLIVIER. DRAMA DESK. OUTER CRITICS CIRCLE. THE EVENING STANDARD. THEATRE WORLD AWARDS. And now, THE TONY AWARDS.

These award giving bodies hailed Jodie Marie Comer as the best lead actress in a play for Prima Facie this year.

She’s 30 years old. And already has TWO out of FOUR, making it halfway through an EGOT STATUS.

She’s one award short of completing the acting trifecta, and we all know she’s getting that Academy Award within 2-5 years.

This woman’s talent is crazy. I love her and I’m so proud to witness all of her achievements so far. Watch out, world. This woman has just begun.

**PS: Out of the 10 nominations Jodie Comer has gotten so far, she’s already won 8 out of them. For one show. And of the two awards she didn’t get, one of those was a category where all performances were combined (musical and straight play), and the other one was voted by fans. She won the most important awards. And she didn’t even go to drama school. That’s just pure talent. Amazing.
