As we talked about Devi from ‘Never Have I Ever' in a recent post and how Dr. Ryan helped her grieve, we would like to take a moment and address how grief can be different for different people.
Grief is very complicated as it happens to elicit a lot of emotions and physical symptoms in us - from an initial shock to episodes of full-blown anger, grief can push a person to any limits sometimes. This is the reason why we can never comprehend how a certain loss can impact someone. A lot of people are familiar with the stages of grief proposed by Elisabeth Kubler-Ross (1969) – denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. However, contrary to popular belief, the stages of grief are not linear and can differ for everyone.
People tend to switch between states of mind that either allows them to feel the loss or adjust to it.
We understand that we may not ever be completely able to forget the loss but we build a life around it in a way where we make space for it and also make space for other things in life. Eventually, life takes us to different places, people, and experiences but that does not always have to mean that our grief will shrink. Our acceptance increases with how we eventually grow around our grief and honor the loss as a significant event that shaped us. Again, let us not forget that this process is different for everyone!

Regaining hope in the world #CHANNELKINDNESS
Tumblr media
I really loved reading the inspiring stories in Lady Gaga (and the Born This Way Foundation's) new book, Channel Kindness. A particular favourite to read hit me hard. This year I lost 2 grandparents and my sister. Grief has hit me hard and I have truly struggled to stand strong. I read 'memories can sometimes be the best medicine' in the book, and it helped me realise that sometimes you need to remember and write down your memories in order to help the grief settle. The story follows Kensey and the creation of her grief journals for fellow students. Such a simple concept of helping to remember the good times is one of the best I have heard. My grief is not gone, but I have learned to channel it better now. I know I can Channel Kindness in whatever I am doing and learn to help others through grief too. Thank you @macmillankidsuk

“That day, I walked into her room and I was startled. I simply could not comprehend what was wrong. She was on the floor as she wailed bitterly. No – she was not crying. She wailed, leaving me to wonder what was exactly wrong. My little brain could not process the entire event in peace, and now I doubt even if hers was able to process it too.
Years later, I understood why mum wailed so hard. How do you explain the heaviness of losing a companion, and how you think God actually “deceived” you when He said things would be fine? I am not sure any explanation from human mind could capture it, and I am not certain I know how she healed. But she did.
I know you wish I could say time healed her. That will only make me laugh because it did not. She found expression to the agony; wailed, cried, got angry, found a passion, learned new skills, loved herself and kids the more. I learnt that from her and watched her evolve every single day. It was a process that made her trust God the more, love Him more and know Him more.
Griefs are real. The best is never to deny them when they occur. Find expression to the pain, talk to someone, be alone if it makes you better, even if you cry every time you remember, it is still okay. Go through that process, get help and let God’s love find you again. Before you can tell (even if it takes long), seasons will change and a better you will emerge.”

Loving Away the Pain
Loving Away the Pain Grief steals your shine, let love give it back. Love yourself, love others, just love.
Sitting alone watching life trudging by.
Drinking your coffee and wiping a tear from your eye.
Looking at photos of what used to be.
Seeing the smile you again long to see.
How long has it been, how much time have you let pass?
While bottling the pain until it becomes a dangerous mass.
The time has come to let that pain slip away.
You do not have to forget, but the pain cannot stay.
Remember the…

happy now
are you happy now
I am gone
you don’t need to worry about me anymore
are you happy now
I have said everything I will ever say
you never have to say anything to me
are you happy now
I cry myself to sleep some nights
you probably don’t even think about me
are you happy now
I wonder if she loves you
you might prefer she doesn’t
are you happy now
I am confused but
you have made everything so clear
are you happy now
I am left with questions
you refuse to answer
are you happy now
I answered them myself
your indifference answered them for me
are you happy now
I am uncertain where I go from here
you went so quickly I couldn’t see where
are you happy now
you are gone
I don’t need to worry about you anymore
are you happy now

Look who fell asleep on her bench. 💖 Tamale was so sad for about 10 days. It broke my heart but I’m pleased to report: She’s doing much better! I think this good weather helps. So sorry for the folks in the northeast - hope things improve for you soon! 😸🌝👍🏼 #happycat #springday #tamaleceo #starkravingcat #overcominggrief

Make time each day to look at your personal life. Understand these 5 common stages that the human mind goes through when it encounters loss. Prepare yourself in advance of each stage, and you give yourself a much better chance at a quick and healthy healing.

The Black Rainbow Bracelet Bracelet with 7 each, Rainbow Obsidian and Black Dyed Howlite Skulls. Rainbow Obsidian assists us in in grief and trauma by allowing light to enter into all our chakras. Howlite is an excellent stone for those who have to work in hostile environments. It works to absorb anger and hate. The black dye compounding this effect. 7 is a direct connection to the universe. Allowing us to tap into the grid and be one with all. Allowing us to realise that everything comes from something and that destruction is needed to birth something new. I made this bracelet to serve as a reminder that life is fragile, and death is inevitable, but if we look closely, we can enjoy the beautiful things life can offer us and go on. The light in this video makes the bracelet seem much more colorful than it would normally. It looks very black and when the light hits it, you can see all the colors in the obsidian. This new one of a kind piece will be available this Saturday at the Hearse Show and Oddities Market at Brauer House in Lombard, Illinois @brauerhouselombard #howlite #rainbowobsidian #skulls #skulljewelry #mementomori #handmade #BrauerHouse #oddities #hearse #hearseshow #goth #ubergoth #bracelet #death #gothjewelry #bikerjewelry #morbidjewelry #morbid #life #love #overcominggrief https://www.instagram.com/p/Bylvk81HkCT/?igshid=1bhsba57e3sm9
