Well here I am (ONS chapter 128)

Ok I'm finally writing out my thoughts about ONS' 128. Idk how long it'll come out (extremely long as I'm writing it it seems...) and also as always I want to hear others' opinions on this, but as a warning it will be mostly negative. I actually did a similar post back at the start of the year with BSD, but BSD at least managed to bounce back full force and do what it needed to do while ONS shows no signs of that.

I'll break it down into the following points:

>I'm also getting tired of the flashbacks (as many already did)

>I miss the Shinoa squad (will touch upon Mitsuba specifically and y'all probably know why)

>The belief that MikaYuu fans are getting much better content and why I think that's bs (will probably mention my theorem of "Mika, along with literally all the women of the franchise, got hit with the mysoginy stick")

So let's go I guess, under the cut so I don't clutter my non-ONS followers' dash.

>The flashbacks: I... Did not mind them up unti now, if I've got to be honest. Let's be serious here everyone probably expected a batshit crazy backstory for the characters, ESPECIALLY Yuu and Mika, and that's what made me not really complain. Now it has been like? 8 chapters of ONLY flashbacks??? Only things of the past with NO break and NO POV switches to at least let us know wtf is going on in the outside world. Christ. The fact that irritates me the most is that all of this adds nothing to the plot either!!! What are the MCs supposed to do now that they've seen one of them (WHO HAS BEEN 4 DIFFERENT SPECIES TOO SINCE THE START OF THE SERIES???) sacrifice for the 3rd time!!!! AND IN THE PAST AT THAT!!!! HOW IS THIS USEFUL FOR THEM OR ANY OF US AGHHFHGHHG. We got other gays going at it tho and that's just funny to me. This is just a BL masked as a battle shonen lmaoooo.

>The Shinoa squad: I feel like this is obvious. Where tf are they? They obviously are looking out for where Mika and Yuu are, how did we not see them again yet??? Some progress in their hunt (let's call it that) for those two??? Shinoa literally threatened to kill Mika (and, for a number of reasons, let me say this: ew.) I'd at least like to see her and how she's doing. And didn't Kagami promise us Mitsuba would get more screentime soon? THIS IS LITERALLY A PERFECT SETTING. SHOW ME HER AND SHINOA BEING IN CONFLICT CUS SHE WORRIES ABOUT HER FRIEND AND WANTS HER TO COME TO HER SENSES!!! SHOW ME HOW THEE LITERAL KIDS ARE DOING AFTER BEING ASKED BY A FULL ON 24 Y.O TO CHOOSE THEIR FAMILIES OR THE WORLD LIKE BE SO SERIOUS THE SETTING WAS *DECENT* (wouldn't say perfect cus I'm not the biggest fan of the "bring everyone back" plot but ok) FOR IT ALL I'M *explodes*

So since I came back after my rewatch and catch up to this manga which resulted in hyperfixation again I noticed that the narrative of MikaYuu shippers getting better content cus a lot of the chapters now focus on them is... common. And for a while I just thought "ok" and moved on but now I'm fully on convinced it's just. Not true. Not because the content isn't there, I would be lying if I said that, but because it's... Not good. Good content, for me (as someone who clearly loves these two if you scroll for even 2 minutes down my fucking tag), would be seeing actual growth between them, some actual substance in what they are doing as of rn, and we are not getting any of that. Since when did we see them actually DO something? Last time we saw Yuu in his actual body and actually saying something was last chapter and he was EATING. Then we went back to them just passively staring at everything that went on. And to add onto this, I dislike demon Mika as a plot IN GENERAL because it recessed any development both for HIM and for Yuu himself. Yuu acts stupid (wtf happened to him after Nagoya I'm being so serious Nagoya Yuu I miss you so much) as shit cus anyway Mika IS strong enough to let him get away with it but not enough to oppose Yuu at some point and this was addressed as a problem for like 2 seconds and then nothing. Oh my God. And not only that but this fucking thing also shows that Mika did, indeed, also get hit with a mysoginy beam, but that's another topic I want to talk about in another post if anyone even really cares about it.

So... Yeah. I'm not tired (I only started catching up in March after my rewatch, so I'm still curios about how this will go), but I AM sad. I really miss the earlier arcs and the potential they all had that now seems like a long lost memory. Can we all collectevely just go back to the Nagoya one like if the series stuck to that path I would be able to excuse its flaws up until a point because GOD. The eyeball with its Seraph shit or whatever the hell it was doing was cool tho.

As always y'all can tell me what y'all think, but I'm mostly expecting this to get lost in the void given how dead the fandom is. So yeah, see ya.

Hello! First off, I def appreciate the info explained in this chp. Even if I had to read it over to really grasp the second half lol. So, if I’m getting this right, does this mean that Yu is the personification of darkness (and maybe more specifically creation, resurrection, and apothnasia)?? And would that mean that The First used Yu to create Mikaela?? Who ig represents the first taboo committed and maybe that’s why his death is needed to undo the taboo from the Apocalypse? Tbh I’m also confused on how the trumpets that appeared are different from the other angels. The way they’re depicted kinda makes it seem like they’re the ones created from darkness. What was extremely clear to me is how gay Paimon and Bael are, like come on now. Yes! It's about time that we started getting some answers. Yeah, that is a little complicated. Seemingly? Yu is definitely something that is meant to harvest light, so I'm wondering if he/it is supposed to *create* darkness sort of as a byproduct. Either way, he seems to have a lot of potential power. Now I'm just wondering how he turned into a person. Obviously, the whole reviving Mikaela thing didn't work out, so maybe this experiment was what lead to that. Time will tell though. Back to what you were saying.

I always thought Mika dying was just a result of his being a demon and all vampires and demons being eliminated by the revival. Maybe I'm wrong though! Your idea is an interesting one and it makes some sense!

Yeah! The angel design was interesting. I wonder if they looked like that because all three taboos were kind of being committed at once or what because as far as I remember, the angels didn't look like that before. If they are created from darkness, does this mean that God's power isn't just over light? I mean, god is supposed to be all powerful, but still. His power was specifically listed as light, so hmmm. An absence of light being the enforcer of abuse of it. Thinking on it, that makes sense. Wild thought but what if paradise is a lie and reaching paradise corrupts you, turning you into something like that? Probably not the case, but I think it's an interesting thought. I digress though. It's been a while since we've seen the trumpets, and... wait that just made me think of something. The trumpets that we've seen in modern day hold the keys. Here we learn that the keys are a sort of conduit or capacitor for light. Maybe light DOES corrupt in a way. Hmmm... it's a lot to think on.

TRUE!! I may have my gay rose tinted glasses at most times, but this is very much a "how else are we supposed to interpret that" sort of thing. It was VERY Romeo and Juliet. The gays are fighting God and it may take millennia, but they're very motivated to win.| As a side note, I do really enjoy how there are different types of love shown here. Even if Bael and Paimon were just supposed to be friends (lmao) you have familial love with Sika Madu and Mika, and you have romantic friendship love with Paimon and Bael. Fun to see.

Overall, I'm satisfied, and am really interested to see what the result of this little resurrection attempt will be. Is this how everyone was turned into demons/vampires? HMMM Questions. Questions. Always with more and more questions.

crediting (x) for the outline + i added a few

inherently evil: frieza (dragon ball) or the major (hellsing) and zagred (black clover)

definition: love to be evil and tell others

explanation: frieza is the epitome of a straight asshole and the major does wish to see war because he likes it (and c’mon i mean he’s a nazi). zagred because he sees people as playthings and wants to see everyone suffer (but to be fair he is a demon)

death to himself: king of despair from blood blockage battlefront or zeref from fairy tail or even maybe a little of johan

defintion: doesn’t care what happens to other as long as they die themselves

explanation: these two fit the bill of a villain who literally doesn’t care about anything else expect for dying. they don’t care what happens to others as long as they’re killed. I say maybe johan because he does want to get revenge, but at the same time he wants to wipe out everyone for his perfect “suicide.”

ruffian with a mission: su-won (akatsuki no yona), shogo makishima (psycho pass), lordgenome (gurren lagann) & stain (boku no hero academia)

definition: basically an anti-villain/ a character with heroic intentions but is a villain

explanation: su-won obviously murdered the king for revenge for his own father but also because he saw that a kingdom should be run a certain way and the current king would not be able to do such a thing, shogo makishima because let’s be real the only reason he’s considered a villain is because he murdered, but motive for freeing humanity from a tyrant of a government was 100000% justifiable, lordgenome decided to prioritize humanity by accepting anti-spirals condition that if the last few colonies stayed underground they wouldn’t attack  and stain because he believed his cause was righteous.

survival shark: accelerator (a certain magical index)

definition: they just want to live and to do so, they might have to kill to achieve this

explanation: accelerator’s ability made him the subject of an experiment to kill 128 clones of misaka mikoto, and although he joins this experiment willingly, I still take in the fact that he’s a minor and therefore already being taken advantage of but also because he only did it so it would scare others into leaving him alone so they don’t get hurt

blinded by revenge: johan (monster) (sorry a repeat), sasuke uchiha (naruto), and dabi (my hero academia)

definition: they want nothing but revenge for whatever they’re seeking

explanation: johan because he wanted revenge for what happened to him. sasuke because first he wanted revenge on itachi, but after the truth came out he wanted revenge on the leaf village itself. dabi because what happened to him in his childhood and on his father.

the patient snake: nimura furuta (tokyo ghoul), ferid bathory (owari no seraph)

definition: they’re sneaky, cunning, and are willing to wait to be revealed the true villain

explanation: furuta because he uses many alias to gain access to different groups and set up everything for endgame, and ferid because he wasn’t the main focus villain but waited and waited for the best chance to become the true villian

the king of gods: light yagami (death note), gilgamesh (fate), griffin (berserk) and aizen (bleach)

definition: they think of themselves superior to everyone and want to be on top and have no care for others

explanation: light towards the end of the series and a little bit towards the beginning, man literally wants to become a god. gilgamesh because he sees himself as way more superior than anyone else. aizen because he wants to defeat the soul king and wants to know how far his ability can go. griffin because he sacrifices all of his friends to obtain the power he wants.

the exister: madara (naruto), rau le creuset (gundam seed)

definition: believes when one is not alive, one can do no wrong or if life is this painful, no one should have to live it. I’ll save everyone the pain and annihilate them all.

explanation: madara because he literally just existed in the background and contemplating life and eventually putting others into his scheme, rau le cruset because he wanted to put everyone out of their misery by using a nuclear weapon to do so.

the go with the flow: hisoka morrow (hunter x hunter), izaya orihana (durarara!!)

definition: they literally just do whatever they feel like doing - whether they’re helping the villain or aiding the hero

explanation: hisoka because his loyalty changes whenever he feels like it. izaya because he’s just chilling and seeing how far he can push someone.

the puppet: akatsuki (naruto), tahoumaru (dororo), the homunculi (fullmetal alchemist)

definition: they’re not the mastermind and follows rules by the main villain

explanation: akatsuki because they’re essentially doing what Obito wants (and Madara therefore, which makes obito a puppet too). tahoumaru because he’s determined to kill hyakkimaru because it’s what his father wants. the homunculi because they’re just doing what the father asks of them.

the psycho: gaku yashiro (erased) shuu tsukiyama (tokyo ghoul)

definition: they don’t really have a reason for their actions, but there’s no reasoning with them

explanation: gaku because he’s literally a serial killer (do i need to explain more) and shuu (i mean do i need to explain this one either)

the psychopath: orochimaru (naruto), and shou tucker (fullmetal alchemist)

definition: they know what they’re doing but do it anyway because they value research over human life

explanation: orochimaru because he doesn’t care if his experiments hurt other people as long as they work and shou because he wants to continue researching and at the threat of losing that ability, uses his daughter to achieve it again.

the anti-hero: lelouch lamperouge (code geass), clare stanfield (baccano!), revy (black lagoon), and mugen (samurai champloo)

definition: they’re basically doing the good thing in a more villainous manner

explanation: lelouch because he kills to get to his end goal, clare because of his views on the world, revy because she has no moral qualms about killing, and mugen because of his personality.
