Stiles had always considered himself pack mom but one night, when everyone thanked Melissa for dinner, they called her Mama McCall. 

Stiles felt he had been doused with a bucket of ice water. He considered the pack his pups and Derek his mate, but they didn’t call him mom.

He quietly cleaned up after dinner, his heart heavy, his mind buzzing. The spark quickly dampened his emotions. He didn’t want anyone to know how hurt he was. It wasn’t a big deal anyway. He went to bed early and was sure no one suspected a thing. 

Someone must’ve caught onto how he was feeling despite his efforts. When Mother’s Day rolled around, there were four people who received cards and gifts, Melissa, Natalie, Talia and—“Happy Mother’s Day, Mama Stiles!” the pack cheered. 

Stiles opened his cards and gifts with happy tears in his eyes. He had always been a caregiver and nurturer. They all knew that and refused to let him think he wasn’t their pack mama just like Derek was their pack papa. 

“Love you, pups,” Stiles whispered. 

They all crowded around him, pulling him into a puppy pile, returning his love ten fold. “We love you too!”

You wanna know would be funny if everyone in the hale pack was like a questioning who was the first beta if it was Scott, Jackson, or Isaac, and Derek just straight up says stiles.

Stiles who thought he wasn’t even in the pack, and everyone else is so confused. Derek refuses to elaborate, Peter just smirks condescendingly at everyone

Stiles: I KNOW you’re not delulu enough to think you’re smarter than my husband is. *snarls*

Scott: I KNOW I’m smarter! If not, I couldn’t have become True Alpha. Deaton said so.

Derek: *sighs in exasperation*

Stiles: Scott, the only “big” word you know is ephemeral and you had to study it for a week.

Scott: Yeah, well… I have claws.

Stiles, looking unimpressed: You know what? Final straw, McCall. Take yourself and that room temperature IQ of yours out of our home. Oh, and don’t come back.

Derek: Thank you for defending me, baby. I’ve tried for a year with him.

Stiles: *begins a fluent convo in Greek with Derek while flipping off Scott* Pánta agápi mou. (Always my love)

So the best damn thing this fandom's ever done is Pack Mom Stiles, right. But the Pack Mom Stiles hits so hard and so good when it's not just about Stiles taking care of the pack, but when that also lets him tap into Alpha-ness.

Being able to command the Betas, having them follow his orders as they follow Derek's. Still human, but an Alpha.

That just hits the spot.

Whenever Derek (true alpha always) goes to different packs for pack business (gathering information, building connections, or checking in), he always takes Stiles for many reasons.

Who cares the most? Stiles

Who can be surprisingly diplomatic? Stiles

Who does all the talking? Stiles

Who is bossy? Stiles

Who gets shit done? Stiles

Who supports Derek? Stiles

Stiles cares so much, that he feels the need to always go with Derek (for alone time 😏 or because he doesn’t trust Derek to share all the information to the pack).

Derek shows his support to Stiles, listens carefully to everything said, will add comments when necessary, watch Stiles with wonder and love in his eyes. Derek wants Stiles to go because his beautiful mate and him work so cohesively together. Where one lacks the other excels. Like yin and yang.

The poor puppies mope without their pack mom and pack dad there to care for them but they do enjoy some peace and quiet from time to time.

Stiles was very protective of his pack even if they didn’t think seatbelts were necessary.

Stiles was adamant that seatbelts were always worn by everyone, Lupine, feline, bovine, divine, it did not matter. Seatbelt! The pack took longer to comply. Derek was used to it but Stiles refused to leave until all seatbelts were fastened. That was how the trip to the water park ended up canceled and Stiles changed the Netflix password.

The next time they went to the water park, the pack followed their Alpha’s lead and buckled up. Liam and Kira had joined the pack by then and waited patiently for the van to leave but it didn’t. They looked at everyone confused.

“Seatbelts!” Stiles called out.

Liam snorted and Kira blinked, her eyes wide in confusion. Why did they need seatbelts? Neither of them buckled up.

Kira finally did when Lydia elbowed her but Liam still didn’t. “When are we leaving?”

Stiles looked at him in the rear view mirror. “When we’re good and ready. Right now we’re good but we’re not ready.

Derek turned to look at Liam and subtly gestured to his seatbelt.

Liam huffed and went to object but Stiles beat him to it. He whirled around to face the baby wolf and spoke. “I do not want to hear about how you are a werewolf and don’t need to wear one. I do not care what you seem to think about it because here’s what I know. You all rely on your strength too much. You think you’re invincible but here’s the thing Liam, you’re not! You’re. Not. Invincible!

“Sure you probably wouldn’t exactly die if we crashed but you’d have broken bones, shattered bones, torn muscles, torn ligaments. Hell, maybe you’d even lose a limb and—” Stiles stopped and took a deep breath.

“I know to you it may seem stupid, but you’re my pack and I love you guys. Maybe bruises are more annoying than painful but I don’t want any of you to get hurt even a little. It happens in our life way too often to avoid but I won’t do anything to give fate or our enemies a helping hand. So, please put on your seatbelt. Without hesitation, Liam put his seatbelt on. Satisfied, Stiles wiped at his face, cleared his throat and gestured to his alpha. “Away we go.”

Derek laced their fingers together and pulled away to start their journey to the water park. He knew how hard it was for the wolves to understand why Stiles was so adamant but he also wasn’t surprised that from that day on, no one, lupine, feline, bovine, or divine, forgot to put their seatbelt on.

Okay so like stick with me but young Derek, alive hale fam au.

So like the Hale family finds out that Derek has a crush on Sheriff Stilinski’s delinquent son, and has mixed reactions. Talia is torn between amusement, worry and wanting to dislike stiles. Papa hale is very protective but thinks it funny that him and his son have the same tastes.

Peter is ecstatic, Stiles once beat him in chess when running from the cops. (stiles was running and sat down in the park around people for cover, turns out he interrupted a chess tournament. Peter challenged him to a game if stiles lost, Peter would turn him over to the police. If he won, stiles could use him as an alibi)

The rest of his siblings don’t really have an opinion other than using Derek’s crush to make fun of him EXPECT for Laura. Laura is in a one sided rivalry with stiles.

As the sheriff right hand deputy she was tasked with keeping an eye out for stiles and she constantly loses him. Which shouldn’t be possible because she’s a werewolf. She can never connect him to a crime he’s committed and can never prove anything. Can’t go to a judge a say “oh he left a scent trail which I followed because I’m a werewolf.”

Derek brings him home to dinner after they start dating. Unfortunately, the day that Derek brings him over, is also the day that Laura had to run around town taking reports of his crimes. She is fuming. Stiles looks her dead in her twitching eye and asked her how her day went.

The only crime she can connect him to is when he commit aggravated assault against a few of Derek’s teammates went to far with hazing. (Derek refused to fight back as not to hurt them) she lets him off.

I fell into some rabbit hole the other nights about the end of 5x01 of Teen Wolf:

First : we never see Stiles initials on the shelf, not even some weird non readable scribble. Obviously because of the name’s mystery but… funny that the very one who wanted to do this activity is not even on it in any way… bad job again Jeff

Second: I know that Stiles being the Pack mom or his friendship with Derek’s betas is mostly a fanfiction thing but still…I totally pictured Stiles writing Erica’s and Boyd’s initials on the shelf because they would never be able to do it themselves. Maybe next to Derek’s initials. And then a few years later he would sneak in the library with Isaac and Jackson to put theirs too because fuck it they are pack!!
