I’m glad I found my way back to Tumblr. I was last on here in 2015. It’s changed a bit. I have too. Have you?
I like Tumblr for that it feels like everyone on here gets me, and my quirky habits. They see things differently, feel differently, even live differently to others who use only the more mainstream social media platforms. My art that wouldn’t normally make sense to some, yet on here people respond. My art is seen, really seen, not just looked at.
I like the anonymity too. Not that I don’t wish to share more about me to someone who asked, but it doesn’t matter anyway. I don’t have to know who it is exactly on the other end, and I still feel connected. You see a picture, a drawing, my art, a quote, whatever, and that’s all you see - but you still get it. I feel known. Let me get you, too. You’re not alone.
On here, the abnormal is what’s normal. And preferred. We band together in all our intricate oddness. We are masters of the creative universe. I’m glad this isn’t mainstream. That’s why we live here. Thanks for having me move back in.
Follow me for what will be my occasionally rambling blog, my art, my photos. Maybe some more of my mind. I’d like some of yours too.

Being an artist and poet is hard
Not just because it takes time but because, no ones gonna draw you. No one's gonna paint you. No one is gonna write you. You immortalized others, but will only be the artist, the painter, the poet.
The world will only see how you see others, how you see emotions. No one will see you, only a name at the bottom. And that, that's painful.

Artists of Tumblr! I have a quest for you!
I wrote this story about my dog and her friends for my nephew, (4 months old and already in love with dogs) but I can’t draw for Shit!
Would anyone be up for helping with the illustrations?
I have pictures of the dogs in the story, but they don’t go well with my severe artistic deficiency 😅😰

The lost ball!
It was a perfect day at the arboretum. The birds were singing, the snowdrops were in full bloom.
The spring sun shining through the budding trees made the fresh grass dew twinkle like stars in the sky.
Fruits, a short, white dog was enjoying a gentle stroll with her human whilst playing with her favourite ball.
It was perfect for her. A match made in the stars. It was a perfect shade of pale green and at night it shone bright a green brighter than the stars.
Fruits didn’t like to share her ball. So much so, that she trained her human to bring other balls to give to her friends in want of a ball.
But her best friends had the special privilege of being allowed to play with her most precious of toys.
She’d often give them the ball when her human looked like she wanted to go home. That way she could stay and play with her friends for a little while longer.
They had just arrived at the arboretum, the dogs favourite place to play. When suddenly, disaster struck.
Her human had thrown the ball in the opposite direction in a cruel prank. Unfortunately, Losing the ball.
Her head dropped when the ball failed to land on her side. In the distance she could hear her human running away from her. Shouting something inaudible as she went.
Leaving Fruits alone in her search.
The tall grass making it difficult to see ahead. Nevertheless, she dropped her nose to the ground and began her search. She searched the field, trees and undergrowth around her, desperate to reunite with her missing ball.
All hope seemed lost when a figure appeared across the field. Growing rapidly as it approached.
“BENTLEY!” Fruits cried happily.
The gentle giant stopped by his sad friend. Touching is nose to her head in comfort, when a second figure came skidding to a halt. Gently nibbling her friends ear as she always did.
Fruits’ heart lifted at the sight of her friends supportive affections.
“Come on, Hollie and Cuddles are searching the other side.” Bentley encouraged. Pointing his nose, to his sisters weaving in and out of the trees on the far side of the field.

Welcome
I am really glad you're here. I am an artist from Alabama and a serial hobbyist with mad hyper-fixation abilities. My work is expressed through many different art forms and I love experimenting with new mediums.
Here you will find my originals in prose, poetry, paintings, photography, and needlework (I'm sure I'll be adding some other mediums of expression within a few months).
The last time I was on Tumblr was in 2015. I'm back because it's the only place I've found that doesn't give deference to one art form over another. In 2015, I was a recovering study abroad junkie with nothing but a lust for travel and newness of life. In 2024, I am being honest.
In this burgeoning post-pandemic era, I am dialing my focus in on three main areas of study:
My Book: Preliminarily titled, "The Scientific Method of Turning Thirty," is a memoir/collection of essays/nonfiction commentary about coming of age at any age in the deep south.
Series One, Alabama the Miserable: a study on the beauty and misery of this wildly ignorant state. Art Forms: Paintings and Photography
My Coming Out Story: A collection of poems written over a decade, illustrating a repressed southerner's fear of being herself.
Along with glimpses into my three ongoing projects, I'll be sharing past works and small pieces born of exploratory creativity.
I would love to know you and engage with your work. I'm here to share and engage.
