Happy Year of the Dragon everyone! With a handle like “Painting Dragon Feathers”, of course I have a few dragons under my wings, lol—and more on the way! Some exciting things are in the works during Painting Dragon Feathers’ sabbatical! May the dragons favor you and your creative endeavors this year.
Now that CryptoZoo is at the editor, I can start designing and thumbnailing dragons for the Umbral Wings tarot deck. And what better background noise than Nathan playing in a live orchestra!
I swear by story bibles when writing, and I’ll make a future post going in depth about making one. First step is to handmake the book like this! Let me know if you’d be interested in this style of journal to be available at Painting Dragon Feathers.
Hey there peeps! Here’s some of the custom Poke’ball Commissions I finished for clients over 2023—between moving and cons, I didn’t get a chance to post most of them till now. I had a lot of fun requests, from a Snorlax soaking in a giant ramen bowl to a Mareep with a glowing moon.
Want a unique custom Poke’Terrarium? My commission queue is open! You can find the information here-->
Hey there peeps—making their debut at Otakon—Korok cloches! These little forest spirits are excited to find new homes or meet up with their friends! You can find them online in the Painting Dragon Feathers online shop as well.
Hey there peeps! I’m excited to announce that I will once again be a contributing artist to a Catstealer’s Tarot Deck—this time the sequel to the dragon-themed Radiant Scales, Umbral Wings! Stay tuned for sneak peeks and updates on this exciting collaborative project.
Now that it’s been gifted, here’s another recent art present I made digitally in procreate. Did you know that in welsh forlklore, corgis are the chosen steed of the fairies?
Sneak peak progress on the refined digital scratchboard draft for Wheel of Fortune for Umbral Wings. I’m so excited for how this is going to turn out. I’m less excited about the insane amount of goldfish I’ll have to scratch in the process. It is a hell of my own making, and it is full of goldfish.
Progress on the 78 Tarot Nautical tarot card—I work on a digital draft before working on the actual scratchboard. My card is the 10 of cups, featuring a family of stingrays!
PHEW! After several weeks of editing and rewrites, CryptoZoo is officially at the editor’s for line edits! So excited—barring any significant changes or delays, my goal is to have books available by June at the latest, and I’m aiming for a Sci-Fi Valley Con in-person debut!
Hey there peeps! Thank you everyone who stopped by the virtual Story Bible/Worldbuilding Webinar last night (and weathered the technical gremlins we ran into, lol).
In other exciting news, here’s three more cons Painting Dragon Feathers will be appearing at in 2024:
World Oddities Expo: Baltimore—October 26th
Cryptid Con—November 23rd-24th
Galaxycon Columbus—Dec 6th-8th
Stop by the booth for cool creature art—including some cool new projects coming down the pipeline. 😉
Broke out the ears for Anthrocon. Looking forward to being an attendee for once and checking out the writing panels today! I’ll be giving my creature design panel tomorrow!
