Y'all like Dungeons & Dragons? Here's some DnD stuff I done for our games
Let's start off with my best piece. The impetus behind making it was three things: 1) an adaptation of the MTG card Paleoloth into a creature with a more animalian physique rather than 'lumpy rubbery tree beast" that would better fit into our game setting 2) an attempt at dark and moody lighting and 3) a Steamed Hams joke!
This image looks good on desktop, but way too dark on mobile.
One locale invented by our Forever DM was a tundra populated by animals that had varying degrees of control over fire. The mammoth is more-or-less a normal mammoth albeit with a little fantasy/Skyrim flair in the form of 4 tusks. The FireFox was essentially an Arctic Fox that could wreathe itself in a flaming mantle as a defence response. And the Ember Rabbits ate a special fireweed that they could ferment and regurgitate as a sticky burning predator deterrent.
The unicorn was one of my earliest DnD images I attempted digitally. I clearly had no idea how to do backgrounds lol. The image beneath it is a reinterpretation of a warg. Less wolf, more hyena with a little big-cat, horse, and extinct critters mixed in. Sadly this WIP screenshot is all that remains of it as it was done on my old laptop who gave up the ghost not long after this was taken.
One of our campaigns took place amongst a continent of floating islands, and therefore involved flying pirates and skywhales! The skywhale on the left was intended to be a kind of 'White Whale' idea, but since the whales ate the trees that grew on the Sky Islands I added some manatee to the look (perhaps a bit too much, but oh well. Also I was playing around with the ink stipling tool, how well that worked is up to your interpretation). Which brings us to our first character, one that was played by Yours Truly. The setting involved sky pirates, so my two inspirations were Treasure Planet, and the chase of the Draconis at the end of Titanfall 2. The character is essentially if John Silver was a hobbit, had beef with the East India Company, and had his own BT-7274 (but medium sized because that's what the artificer statblock says it has to be...).
Full confession, I am not-good(TM) at drawing people OR machinery. So my workflow on that one consisted of collaging together a bunch of stuff from Google Images until I had enough to trace and fill in the little details. This is also true of all my human character images.

The top two here are a Beastmaster Ranger and her Owlbear from our Icewind Dale campaign. I never got around to digitally painting the Owlbear, so all I have is a photo of the sketch paper (which is now long gone). The lower left is a minotaur gladiator character from an Arabian Nights inspired campaign. And the lower right is basically a shitpost. Another player described their character as Ben Franklin as a paladin who uses a whip, and then dropped a hard as hell line. I had to commit it to paper (well, the digital equivalent)

Venus with a twist
I feel like sharing a craft project I worked on last summer. I have a small collection of paleolothic venus statue replicas plus more modern examples of similar iconography. Something about them really appeals to me on an emotional/personal level.
So I decided to make my own, in the same style, out of clay, but instead of a stylised human woman I made a female bonobo! I thought it befitting that a matriarchal animal be depicted in this way.

Human Venuses have exaggerated boobs, hips and bums. But in order to venus-ify the feminine attributes of a bonobo, I had to approach the design differently. Rather than a big bum, she has an exaggerated vulva swelling. Her boobs are a lot less full than a human's, and imply past and present nursing. She also has longer nipples.

Photo of Lina from Twycross zoo sporting the anatomy I'm referring to.

I've...never seen this card in play outside the 99 of a Selvala deck.
Wasn't jamming much for that Limited set and I don't think I saw it off the bonus sheet in MOM.
But I do think that maldhound is wrong about it in some respects. Like, how many other monogreen commanders does his concern (about bounce?!) apply to?
Number 1: You can run a full 9 more creatures in your deck RELATIVE to lands because of Topiary Panther, Elvish Abberation, Orchard Strider, Sojourner's Companion, Krosan Tusker and friends. And that's just for taking land slots!
2: And while you're doing all that you can jam undergrowth cards like Kraul Foragers, Vigorspore Wurm, Hatchery Spider, Gaea's Courser, and Gnarlroot Pallbearer.
3: You also get to play Shefet Monitor, Beanstalk Giant, Beanstalk Wurm, Topiary Stomper, Wayward Swordtooth, and Greater Tanuki as ramp cards that also matter to your commander.
4: And there are plenty of rate-monsters or utility pieces to fill out the list too. Imperiosaur, Yeva Nature's Herald, Myriad Construct, Siege Wurm, Avenging Hunter, Emerald Dragon, Stormkeld Vanguard, Cleanup Crew, Relic Golem, and Tangle Golem.
5: And you get draw engines like Drumhunter, Up the Beanstalk, Paleoloth, and Keeper of Fables.

VERY suddenly out of nowhere annoyed by the 'stone tools' seen in media are often just rocks tied to sticks used to hit shit
#literally would love to hand a chunk of flint and an antler to someone and tell them to make a tool#and see if they can get anywhere close to the delicate and beautiful upper paleolithic tools#and then see if they think that theyre any smarter than paleolothic people#like literally they were just as intelligent as us

I was thinking more about this idea where the warrior cat Clans make art! I'm trying to do it so it's something cats can do with their anatomy, or at least semi-close to what a cat could theoretically do. Obviously I don't have a reference I could do off of lol. I was hoping that the Clans would share similarities, but have preferences to what they do more
If anyone has ideas on what kind of art the warrior cats cats could do, I would love to hear it!
#I took a lot of inspiration from prehistorical art#I tried to look only at paleolothic art. literally the earlier art in history#but maybe that was the wrong way to go about it?#like idk I was trying to relate thr Clans culture and technology to humans but warrior cats are not humans#but yeah any ideas are v welcome#warrior cats#warrior cats au#art by me

Alara Legends
Two shards two 5c legends we got good stuff to go. One thing I like about Alara’s design was offering an in theme legendary then an “offbrand” legend that worked with the set’s tech in a more indirect way.

This commander screams NAYA in the bloodiest way. There’s so many ways to use this ability more than once: illusionist’s bracers, Seedborn Muse, Quest for Renewal. Its good as heck. Wilderness Reclamation is also pretty good as it lets you play your turn THEN crack Mayael later. The set offers a lot of power 5 tech like Spellbreaker Behemoth and Paleoloth. Shoutout to Retaliator Griffin for being a sick defensive creature that fills the Flying slot. Mayael can put a lot of angels and dragons to use likr Dawnbreak Reclaimer and Atarka (wotc where my angel dragon at) but I think a good way to build Mayael is to add creatures with activated abilities like Soul of Zendikar, getting more use out of Seedborn Muse and the like when Mayael isn’t active.

Uril was an OG voltron commander who could clean house. The play back in the day was use its hexproof with aura buffs, slap on some pro creature auras like Spirit Mantle and kill. If you do that das rood. But Uril opens up a potent Naya auras matter build that really hasn’t been revisited, and I’d love to see more Red/Boros/Gruul aura tech come around. Heavenly Blademaster, Sram, Champion of the Flame, and Danitha are all nice add ins here.

Progen the OG Pro-Ev. This card’s cost is the equivalent of Door to Nothingness and protection everything is so cool but it does have its limits you need to play around if you use this. Firstly, pro everything prevents targeting and damage. Wrath of God will kill Progen. Blasphemous Act will not. Try to use damage based boardwipes or something like Flood of Tears to replay Progen. You also can’t target with equipment or buffs making it a touch harder to go voltron. But throw out Knight of New Alara and you got a 15/15 pro everything. Its crazy.
We got one more Alara post slated, its a rude one. I’d love to hear what you think of these or Naya as a color. Feel free to add your thoughts, I’d love to hear the. Safe planeswalking.

Commander Card Spotlight: Paleoloth
Today’s spotlight features a powerful Green creature from Alara Block that can help power a creature-based strategy. Paleoloth is an expert at pulling creature cards back from the graveyard so that they can be used again, although it’s dependent on other creatures entering the battlefield around it.

This card clocks in at a decently-sized 5/5 body in its own right, a staple size of the Alara format and specifically the planar shard of Naya, one of five shards represented during the block. Playing big dudes was essentially the object of playing inside the Naya shard during this block, and this card definitely exemplifies the idea that the Naya player would be rewarded for keeping their board stocked with large-sized creatures.
In Commander, though, the “power-5 cutoff range” is really not a difficult hump to push over and creatures like Paleoloth and its ilk are easy to get decent value out of. Paleoloth specifically makes a great creature to play after a board-clearing Wrath spell or a particularly heavy round of combat, as you can start rebuilding quickly off of the back of this creature. While not a great fit for every deck, those decks that are heavily tuned to creature-based strategies involving mid-to-high power ratios may want to give it a try.

It depends on what you are willing to call reanimator. Does it have to be creature based to be called reanimator? Blue and Green would be tricky otherwise, but if so then it's manageable.
W: Reya Dawnbringer, etc.
U: IDK, throw together an artifact deck with heavy use of the graveyard. If you're being really lenient in how you define reanimator, try The Unspeakable. Easily the biggest stretch.
B: you have innumerable options, I like Chainer.
R: Daretti or Feldon.
G: Titania, Hua Tuo. Cards like Paleoloth and Eternal Witness are your friend.
UW: Hana
UB: Scarab God
BR: Grenzo, Wort
RG: there's no dedicated commander, but a lands deck like Omnath or Mina and Denn can easily pack enough land recursion to argue it's reanimator.
GW: Saffi
WB: Athreos, Ravos
UR: Slap together an artifact deck featuring cards like Daretti, Scarecrone, and Feldon.
BG: Meren, Gitrog, etc.
RW: Tiana
GU: I'd suggest a lands shell, or an Artifact shell.
3+ color decks have enough options that you can make grave recursion decks in an combo without too much of a struggle.
On a scale of easy to impossible where does building a reanimator style deck for every color combination in Commander fall

How To Use Paleo To Lose Weight
Various methods are used by people who want to reduce some pounds. They can diet and exercise regularly to achieve that. Most people think dieting is the most effective way to cut some kilos. This is not always the case because you can make it a habit to eat right all the time and still get the same results. Nowadays, there is an increase in the number of people using Paleo to lose weight. In fact, this is a recommended diet all over the world for those who want to reduce some kilos in a healthy way.
This is a diet that involves taking natural foods to have great health and to be physically strong. It is also called paleolothic diet. Natural foods contain no man made chemicals and are most effective in human bodies if taken fresh. In the past, human beings survived on natural foods. This however changed when unnatural foods were introduced by various food processing firms.
There is plenty of natural food at your disposal. They are fish, game meat, nut, vegetables, wild fruit, eggs and many more. They have proteins and animal fat in them. This diet does not include carbohydrates. Sticking to this food for a long time will make you slimmer, healthier and stronger at the same time. Organs from animals are also of this diet.
Carbohydrates and grains are not involved in paleo diet. It includes the fats and organs of animal foods such as shellfish, poultry, pork, bison and lamb among others. Eggs and limited amounts of nuts and fruits are also included. Taking these foods on a regular and planned basis will help you achieve the desired results within a few weeks.
The advantage of this diet is that it is not only for those who want to lose weight, it is also recommended for those who want to add some pounds. With commitment to eating the right paleolothic diet, you will also gain some kilos.
You cannot achieve this on your own. You need a nutritionist to help you every step of the way. Make a point of doing exactly what you are told and you will get the body you desire within no time. Visit them more often to keep you on track.
Most of the people who have used paleo to lose weight have succeeded. By the time you are through, you will be strong and healthy. Your body will be more prepared to deal with any diseases that attack you without the use of medicine.
