I just realized I never showed my homemade Where Home Is trophy hardcover smh

New vs old again bc it has an old "paperback" version!

Hardcover was made with transfer paper for the title stuff and stencils were used with golden acrylics for the patterns. I saw the stencil and I knew on sight it would be for Where Home Is. My hard basis seems to have gotten a weird fold and I think it's from the transfer paper's heat?? Not sure, I just know it wasn't there at first but it's okay, I know Lucerne would love it anyway.

Here's a peek of the inside (gasp, hand pic). I had the paperpack's covers plastified too hard so it had issues opening but it's not too bad since its purpose was mostly "trophy" where I can point at it and go "bruh, I did that, that's a lot of words"

Only Light on the Horizon left, printed Welcome Aboard the Maria and so it's ready for folding and sewing (though kinda debating printing the last signature that holds the refs bc the pencil portions are really hard to see for some reason, so I'd probs need to ink them) but At Hope’s End still needs a few touchups and a last look (though it's kinda long bc there's 71 chapters of it MCNJDNC)

Hardcover or paperback? Paperpack bc it's easier to hold, but hardcovers are definitely prettier

Bookstore or library? Bookstore but only bc I like to own my books as long as I'm sure ab reading them and the atmosphere is so nice......but we love and appreciate the library and its resources in this house

Stand alone or series? Depends on the story and how it's told! If a series is needed to tell the entire arc/narrative then that's fine. I just don't want a feaking 5+ book series of 500+ pages each ajgdjskwkwkwlwk

Nonfiction or fiction? Fiction bc i love escapism, but i love nonfiction too!!

Thriller or fantasy? Fantasy

Under 300 pages or over 300 pages? While i WOULD say it depends on the story i prefer books with 400 pages AT MOST bc my silly neurodivergent brain can barely concentrate to begin with

You know how most people who become hunters have a tragic youth? A murdered father, a killed sister, a trauma? Not Benton Norris. Benton, known as Ben to friends, became a hunter when he was forced into it at a later age.

Ben was part of Charlie Bradbury's LARP group in Moondor. He plays the role of a young elven prince, who wants nothing more than to find a romantic partner in his endeavors to join him and start their own kingdom. It's not too far from the truth: Ben would love to have his own family but he'd had no luck with his dates yet - despite Charlie's attempts to match him with another elf in Moondor.

One day he was venturing out in the wildlands to pick some moonflowers, a lovely bouquet to offer to said prince. However, he was rudely interrupted by a werewolf hungry for his heart. It was pure luck that Ben was carrying a silver knife and plunged it into the werewolf's neck in defense. That was the start of his journey as a hunter: today he's a fully fledged one, armed and dangerous. While he still enjoys LARPing, he's not nearly as committed to it as he was in the past. Instead, he now spends his time adopting books (because those poor old paperpacks at the thrift shops need a home too!), researching lore and killing monsters.

Mary met him when she accidentally saved him during a hunt, protecting him from a wraith ready to feed on him. He then finished the job with the very same silver knife he used before. They eventually contacted each other more frequently to team up and they are friends now. He's one of the few hunters Mary isn't scared of due to his usually gentle nature and kind voice. But he's a fierce warrior and shouldn't be underestimated despite his good intentions. fc: Aaron Jakubenko
