can I say something controversial. shen jiu and shen yuan are both characters who are very much shaped by the environments in which they were raised, and those environments are fundamentally opposites. shen jiu is the way he is because he grew up as an orphan on the streets and suffered horrific abuse as a slave. shen yuan is the way he is because he was raised in relative comfort and privilege, with all the benefits that come with being the third son of a wealthy family in the modern era. I say this because in aus where they're brothers, one of them inevitably is going to end up in a fundamentally different upbringing, which is going to drastically change how they behave

this is not to discourage aus but rather to encourage using them as a way to analyze what changing something like this does to these characters. if you take out shen jiu's tragic backstory and give him a wealthy, privileged family, how does he act? how much of what we associate with shen jiu is inherent to his personality, and how much of it is because of his trauma? if you take shen yuan out of his comfortable life and make him an abused slave child, what will that do to him? will his kindness still be second nature? will he find new ways to act like a complete lunatic?

To all the people telling me "I'm in your walls" is a harmless meme and "if you are sensitive enough to be triggered by it you shouldn't be on the Internet", please read this and then tell me it's a meme that has nothing to do with schizophrenia, it's a harmless meme, and if me and other people with schizophrenia get 'triggered' by it we are too sensitive.

It was literally made to purposely trigger people in psychosis/ people with schizophrenia specifically. Me and many other people who post about our schizophrenia/psychosis online get spammed with this type of thing, I get anons pretty regularly. I actively try to avoid it but it doesn't matter. I can't think of any other popular "meme" that purposely triggers people online who are already vulnerable. It is blatant sanism/ableism.

There is no way you can divorce the "joke" from its original intended purpose. And why do you guys fight so hard to justify this "joke"? It's not ever funny, it's not clever or creative, it's just bullying a minority, that's literally it.

Those of us with schizophrenia/psychosis deserve to be on the Internet just like everybody else. It's not our fault that there is a popular meme made specifically to target our vulnerabilities. Even if we try our hardest to avoid these types of jokes, people will seek us out and harass us regardless.

Notice on the Know Your Meme page, all the other related searches that are more "memes" meant to trigger, harass, or make fun of people with psychosis/schizophrenia. A lot of these memes have only started/become popular in the last few years. And yet no one seems to be speaking up about how fucked up that is. Not even neurodivergent/mental illness awareness online. And when those of us with schizophrenia try ourselves to call it out, guess what kind of comments we get 🙄

At first it didn't bother me when people used "delulu" so freely cause I was like whatever it's not THAT harmful but I have seen it used SO often that it's started to annoy the shit outta me like none of these people even know what delusion ACTUALLY is. Delusion is not the cute little hopeful voice that tells you they're interested because they made eye contact with you, delusion is waking up one day knowing, being absolutely convinced, that your parents' bedroom is a portal to another dimension, that all your friends are paid actors, that animals don't exist and are actually robots with cameras for eyes, and those are just the ones that I have personally experienced and was able to snap out of with lots of help and without hurting myself or anyone around me.

It's actually so fucking annoying to see people being like "may your delulu becone trululu 😋👍" like if you knew what delusion actually is, how hopeless and paranoid and confused it makes you feel, you would not be saying that. I have known of people who became convinced their families were demons, or that they themselves were possessed, and then ended up committing serious crimes. But no. It's all fun and games, and being "delulu" is cute and quirky.

Hey could some of my followers do me a huge favour and report this TikTok? It is specifically made targeting me and my server and spreading lies and generally just being. Horrendous. The owner of the account, Aspen, got banned from my server not for “saying hi” but for being who they are and encouraging what they do. As you can see in this ban log and ticket, we banned them for allowing our blacklist to be posted in their server and made fun of. all of the blacklist is either common triggers or staff specific ones, and they proceeded to make fun of not only my own but many of my friends triggers. Frankly if they just DMd me and asked why it was a trigger I’d be happy to traumadump since they apparently wanna hear about it so bad but… alas. They decided to just be a dick instead.

They also call us a Syscord. We aren’t even a system discord. We just happen to HAVE a lot of systems. First and foremost our server is a fan server for my content, that is all.

They also have done some other horrendous behaviour like say the boycotts are bullshit and just blatantly being shitty about psychotic triggers

Overall, they just fucking suck! They do all of this under the guise of being “pro recovery” while actively making fun of peoples triggers. Exposure therapy is meant to be done with a therapist, and spoilering shit in our own discord is not “anti recovery”.

Overall aspen is a fucking garbage person and I think you should avoid them and their content but that’s not the point of the post. If possible I’d like you to just report their TikTok [here] and otherwise not engage with them lest you also be a target.

I meant to say this yesterday morning. For no reason except that this just tends to happen over time and I'm mentally ill.

CALL ME SELFISH... but I love being credited with ideas I've given others or that helped inspire something else for someone. I love it so never worry about @'ing me or telling me that. You don't have to and it typically slips people's minds especially if they liked something enough to make it their own, and I'm sure I do it plenty too (never be afraid to come on my post or in my comments or dms and claim an idea thats yours btw. Tell em!!!)

Actually, the more selfish part comes from the fact that if I think my part is not being acknowledged in something I turn evil as fuck (just annoyed), which I am working on by just ignoring the thing. Because I know I can't claim ideas or thought processes. I just figure I should warn.

i don't know if that makes sense, but whenever i start holding specifically a paranoid belief, it helps me to make up a fake counter-fact.

it's a little dangerous because i am still making myself believe in things contrary to reality, but so far it's worked without me losing myself in them.

a little example and of course tw for unreality, hallucinations and potentially paranoia inducing thoughts:

i always was incredibly terrified about something unknown being in my apartment - chasing me, watching me sleep, etc - to the point i started hallucinating it. but then i gave the "thing" a name and some rules, and now i'm (mostly) okay!

if i hear something at night, especially auditory hallucinations i can simply blame my "thing" flatmate, Adrien. he KNOWS he's not supposed to come into my room at night! he can roam freely when i'm out of the house, but once i'm home he has to stay in the other room.

he's also not allowed in the bathroom, which has greatly alleviated my reflection induced hallucinations (i barely get them at all anymore!)

I actually love this, it made me giggle. I'm such a fan of out-of-the-box coping strategies (as long as they aren't harmful of course). Especially with psychotic symptoms, they are usually nonsensical, so your own way of dealing with it can be kinda nonsensical too.

I myself have created similarly strange coping skills that have actually helped me a lot over the years. Like naming my cat Demon (what I called my old persistent hallucination). So now instead of being like "what's that noise at night??? Is it Demon??? >:0" I will be like "what's that noise at night? Is it my sweet baby boy Demon?! :D". I also love putting stuff like "creepy" dolls or a full size skeleton, and other Halloween decorations in my apartment, because that way the hallucinations can kinda just blend in, and I'm more desensitized to seeing random eyes staring at me in the dark lol.
